Dr. Daniel Sierra-Sosa is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at The Catholic University of America. He is an active researcher in the fields of quantum computing, machine learning, healthcare data processing, image processing, and data analytics.

Dr. Sierra-Sosa has been involved in multiple research activities, including industry contracts, collaborations with public health entities, and other academic partners; in addition to his involvement in academic research proposals. Prior to joining The Catholic University of America, he participated in a collaborative industry initiative with a healthcare company, working on projects that included mobile application development, virtual reality, medical imaging, and predictive analytics. He has led various projects and has taken significant responsibilities in mentoring graduate and undergraduate students. He is the co-author and lead author of several manuscripts published in recognized journals. Dr. Sierra-Sosa is also a Qiskit Advocate and a certified instructor in quantum computing, data science, and artificial intelligence.

El lote principal entró a 29 segundos del ganador, comandado por el corredor galo Paul Hennequin (Nice Métropole Côte d’Azur) . Tercero se reportó el italiano Filippo Tagliani (Vini Monzon – Savini Due – OMZ ).

En cuanto a los dos colombianos en competencia, Alexander Valbuena (Kamen Pazin) fue el mejor en la casilla 25°, mientras que Dilan Daniel Rojas (Kamen Pazin) llegó en el puesto 29°, ambos en el lote a 29 segundos del ganador.

La segunda etapa del Critérium du Dauphiné 2024 quedó en manos de Magnus Cort (Uno-X Mobility) . El pedalista escandinavo fue el más rápido en la definición y logró la victoria, luego de recorrer 142 kilómetros entre Gannat y Col de la Loge .

El corredor danés, que alcanzó su primera victoria con el equipo noruego, superó en el embalaje a esloveno Primož Roglič (BORA – hansgrohe) y al estadounidense Matteo Jorgenson (Team Visma | Lease a Bike) , quienes entraron 2° y 3°, respectivamente.

Con relación a los cuatro colombianos en competencia, Santiago Buitrago (Bahrain – Victorious) entró en la casilla 14°, Harold Tejada (Astana Qazaqstan Team) ocupó el puesto 22°, Santiago Umba ((Astana Qazaqstan Team) en el puesto 29° e Iván Ramiro Sosa (Movistar) entró en la posición 32°, todos con el mismo tiempo del ganador.

Clasificación General Individual

Antes de afrontar el Giro Next Gen (Giro de Italia Sub-23) , los talentos del Team GW Erco Shimano , en representación de Colombia, hicieron escala en la República Checa para afrontar la Carrera de La Paz , competencia perteneciente al calendario de la Copa de Las Naciones UCI , clasificatoria a la próxima edición del Tour de L’Avenir .

Cinco de los seis ciclistas que estarán en la Corsa Rosa conformaron la nómina del seleccionado nacional, avalado por la Federación Colombiana de Ciclismo . Diego Pescador, Sebastián Pinilla, Andrés Mancipe, William Colorado y Jefferson Ruiz , con la inclusión del antioqueño Mauricio Zapata (Team PetroLike) , llevaron la batuta en el evento que tuvo al país en los puestos de vanguardia.

Ruiz se destapó como la carta principal. El boyacense finalizó en la octava casilla de la general a 22 segundos del campeón Brieuc Rolland (Francia) , y a solo siete segundos de obtener un lugar en el podio, que finalmente quedó en manos del francés Leo Bisiaux .

La actuación y el protagonismo del equipo – terceros en la segunda etapa con Ruiz y terceros en la clasificación final por equipos -, le permitió a Colombia entrar en la lista de países con mejor puntuación en el ranking de la Copa de Las Naciones Sub-23 , en la misma línea de España, con 14 puntos.

“ Logramos una buena participación representando a Colombia y con esto acercamos al país al Tour de L’Avenir. Agradecemos a la Federación Colombiana de Ciclismo por apoyarnos para representar a la selección en esta carrera, a nuestros patrocinadores por su respaldo incondicional y a la organización de la Carrera de La Paz por abrirnos las puertas en esta competencia tan bonita y muy bien organizada”, destacó el manager del Team GW Erco Shimano Luis Alfonso Cely , quien se desplazó con los seis integrantes rumbo a Italia para afrontar el Giro Next Gen , que se llevará a cabo del 9 al 16 de junio.

Allí se unirá a la delegación el campeón nacional Brandon Rojas , integrante de la selección Colombia en el pasado Campeonato Panamericano . Por su parte, Mauricio Zapata se integrará a las filas del Team PetroLike, equipo que también ha sido invitado por la organización del Giro, a cargo de la empresa RCS Sport.

La Vuelta a Colombia 2024 tendrá la presencia de seis equipos internacionales

Un total de 25 equipos harán parte de la edición 74 de la Vuelta a Colombia , que se disputará del 14 al 23 de junio, a lo largo de 1.295 kilómetros , entre los departamentos de Boyacá, Cundinamarca, Tolima, Caldas, Risaralda, Valle y Antioquia .

Serán 175 los ciclistas que estarán participando en los equipos continentales, de marca y de liga, que tomarán la partida en el prólogo de 7.4 kilómetros , que abrirá las competencias en el municipio de Macanal, Boyacá , el próximo viernes 14 de junio.

Las escuadras internacionales que estarán presentes con la categoría continental serán el Movistar Best PC y el Team Saitel , de Ecuador; el Forte Petrolike – Androni Giocattoli y el Canel’s Java de México, y el Panamá es Cultura y Valores . También estará presente el Pio Rico Cycling Team , de Bolivia, que para este año cuenta con categoría regional.

Por nuestro país estarán los equipos continentales Nu Colombia, Team Medellín EPM, GW Erco Shimano, Orgullo Paisa, Team Sistecrédito y el Colombia Potencia de la Vida , equipo del Ministerio del Deporte.

Así mismo estarán en competencia: Boyacá es para Vivirla; Avinal – Alcaldía El Carmen de Viboral ; Team Orígenes Coffee; Alcaldía de Manizales 100% Huevos – Gobernación de Caldas; Team Fundecom – Calzado Gocci; F y F Team; Ebsa Empresa de Energía de Boyacá; Depormundo; Alcaldía de Cota – 4WD – Rentacar; Néctar Indeportes Cundinamarca; Alcaldía de Sogamoso – Mundial de Tornillos; Indeportes Tolima es Pasión, y la Liga del Huila.

El cronograma oficial se abrirá el próximo jueves 13 de junio con legalización de inscripción, acreditaciones, verificación de licencias, y entrega de autorizados, radios, números y chips, en jornada que se llevará a cabo entre las 9:00 y las 12:00 del mediodía, en el Club Social Gauthoc (Carrera 6 # 10-46) en Guateque, Boyacá.

De 1:00 a 2:00 de la tarde se celebrará el Congresillo Técnico , mientras que de 2:00 a 3:00 pm, se realizará la reunión de la organización con los representantes de la policía, comisarios, fotógrafos, camarógrafos y conductores, actividades que también se llevarán a cabo en el Club Social Guathoc .

La presentación oficial de los 25 equipos que participarán en esta edición de la carrera se llevará a cabo desde las 5:00 de la tarde, en el Parque Principal de Guateque .
