Eine Kapstadt-Rundfahrt lohnt sich

Es gibt kaum eine bessere Metropole als Kapstadt, um an einer Hop-on/Hop-off-Stadtrundfahrt teilzunehmen. Zum einen ist Kapstadt nicht sicher genug, um alles auf eigene Faust zu erkunden. Zum anderen ist die Stadt sehr weitläufig. Es ist beinahe unmöglich, sie zu Fuß abzulaufen.

Mit einem Hop-on/Hop-off-Bus kannst du die meisten Sehenswürdigkeiten bequem und vergleichsweise schnell erreichen und dabei lässt du dir bei gutem Wetter den warmen Wind um die Nase wehen. Außerdem erhältst du über einen Audioguide in 16 Sprachen (darunter auch deutsch) nützliche und unterhaltsame Informationen zur südafrikanischen Traumstadt.

Sobald die Füße nicht mehr tragen, setze dich in einen Hop-on/Hop-off-Bus und fahre so weit du möchtest – ob nur zwei Stationen oder gleich eine komplette Rundfahrt. Wenn du eine Strecke beendet hast, kannst du gleich in die nächste Linie umsteigen, denn das Unternehmen City Sightseeing bedient zwei Routen in Kapstadt und dem näheren Umland. So wird aus einer Stadtrundfahrt schnell eine Halbinsel-Rundfahrt bis nach Kirstenbosch und Hout Bay.

Kapstadts Sehenswürdigkeiten vom Bus aus entdecken

Viele wichtige Attraktionen Kapstadts kannst du mit dem Hop-on/Hop-off-Bus erreichen:

Diese Sehenswürdigkeiten erreichst du mit dem Hop-on/Hop-off-Bus. Für manche dieser Attraktionen gibt es keine eigens ausgezeichnete Haltestelle, doch von den nahe gelegenen Stopps sind es höchstens wenige Minuten zu Fuß.

Darüber hinaus gibt es manche Highlights, die im Busfahrplan nicht vorgesehen sind, wie der Lion’s Head und Signal Hill. Auch Robben Island kann mit dem Bus nicht erreicht werden – schließlich handelt es sich um eine Insel.

Zwei Ziele, die mit Kapstadt in Verbindung gebracht werden, aber weit außerhalb der Stadt liegen, sind Boulders Beach mit seinen Pinguinen sowie das Kap der guten Hoffnung. Beide kannst du im Rahmen eines Tagesausflugs mit City Sightseeing besuchen. Dafür gibt es ein separates Ticket.

Tipp: Eine ganz besondere Art des Sightseeings ist ein Helikopterflug über Kapstadt .

Hop-on/Hop-off-Tour im Detail

Die einzige Hop-on/Hop-off-Tour in Kapstadt wird von City Sightseeing angeboten, einem der weltweit größten Hop-on/Hop-off-Unternehmen. Entsprechend professionell wird die Tour durchgeführt. Die Busse haben eine rote Farbe mit der Aufschrift „CitySightseeing Cape Town“. Es handelt sich um Doppeldecker-Busse, die bei gutem Wetter oben geöffnet sind. Ist es hingegen kalt oder regnerisch, kann das Dach geschlossen werden.

Während der Fahrt informiert ein aufgezeichneter Audiokommentar in bis zu 15 Sprachen (darunter Deutsch und Englisch) über die wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten. Die Busse fahren ganzjährig auf drei Routen durch Kapstadt und Umgebung (davon eine Wein-Route).

Rote Linie (City Tour)

Die rote Linie ist die wichtigste Route. Sie führt durch große Teile der Innenstadt sowie zum Tafelberg, nach Camps Bay, Seapoint, Green Point und zur V&A Waterfront. Falls du nur eine Strecke fahren möchtest, sollte es diese sein.

Blaue Linie (Mini Peninsula Tour)

Die blaue Linie beginnt ebenfalls am Aquarium. Die Strecke weist große Überschneidungen mit der roten Linie auf. Allerdings führt die blaue Tour zusätzlich in einem großen Bogen um den Tafelberg herum, sodass du mit ihr auch nach Kirstenbosch und Hout Bay gelangst. Mit der blauen Linie erreichst du auch die Wein-Linie.

Stadtrundfahrt mit Kindern

Die Kapstädter Hop-on/Hop-off-Busse sind familienfreundlich, denn Kleinkinder bis 3 Jahre fahren kostenlos und Kinder zwischen 4 und 17 Jahren erhalten ermäßigte Fahrkarten. Zumindest für einen Tag gibt es auch ein reduziertes Familienticket (2 Erwachsene + 2 Kinder), allerdings nur auf der offiziellen City Sightseeing Website.

• Die Tickets sind – im Vergleich zu anderen Städten – ziemlich preiswert.

The Urban Areas Act was passed in 1923 as a way of forcing black and coloured Africans to take up residence in allocated areas. Langa and Gugulethu are two such areas. Langa was opened in 1927 as a residence for those who were removed from Ndabeni near Maitland. Close to Langa, Gugulethu was established in 1958 to accommodate the overflow from Langa township, as well as migrant workers from the Eastern Cape. The township’s population quickly grew to over 27,000 by 1963. Today, both Langa and Gugulethu continue to be vibrant communities of Cape Town.
