Journey north on the scenic coastal drive to the Daintree Rainforest with spectacular views of the Coral Sea coastline. Embark an informative one hour River Cruise on the mighty Daintree River where you spot and learn about estuarine crocodiles, mangrove forests and endemic wildlife as you unwind in nature's embrace. Light refreshment of tea/coffee and biscuits provided. Your experienced Guide will give an information commentary on the rich local flora/fauna and cultural significance of the area as you drive through the ancient Daintree Rainforest. Get sand on your feet as you join a guided beach walk where the "Rainforest meets the Reef". Savour a delicious lunch at a local restaurant amidst the unique backdrop of the Daintree Forest (please advise in advance of ay special dietary requirements) followed by a stop for a a delicious tropical fruit ice-cream enroute to the Daintree Ferry. Kuranda Skyrail & Kuranda Scenic Rail Tours.
No holiday to Cairns would be complete without a visit to Kuranda. Kuranda is a quaint little village nestled in the rainforest famous for its Arts & Craft Markets. By far the most popular way to experience Kuranda is with either the Skyrail Cablecar or Kuranda Scenic Rail , although most visitors choose to dom a package including both. In the "wet" or "green" season the spectacular Barron Falls are a sight not to be missed. Both the Skyrail & Scenic Rail will give you a great view of the falls. Cape Tribulation & The Daintree Tours.
The World Heritage Listed Daintree Rainforest is the worlds oldest rainforest. Situated North of Cairns, the Daintree Rainforest, and it's most famous section - Cape Tribulation, are well worth a visit. Scuba Diving Day Trips.
Cairns is simply the best place in Australia to scuba dive! As the closest point to the Great Barrier Reef from the Australian Mainland, as well as it's proximity to the isolated northern sections of the reef, all make it a scuba divers paradise. Whilst scuba diving is offered on just about every Great Barrier Reef Cruise, some trips are better suited to the scuba divers.
