Great tour to have a quick experience of Jordan, if you get Hisham as your guide your will be very lucky, He is very knowledgeable, well organized, very motivated, and hardworking & show you all the hidden gems. I have travelled a lot with so many tour groups but intrepid you are my new favourite! Would suggest putting more time into Petra as we do not get to experience it completely.

The tour was very good. One thing that bugged me was the tip we needed to contribute to. According to the trip notes, the participation was optional and the amount could be decided by us. Which was not the case. I'm not saying I wouldn't have tipped, the driver and the bedouin family who transported and cooked for us more than deserved their money. Perhaps the information needs to be clearer.

It was the best tour I had ever take! The guide Muhammed was incredible during our entire tour. he is the reason for our review!

"I'll start with the good. The tour itself is really good, the things that you see are breathtaking but the poor organisation of the tour mean that sometimes you can't enjoy the experience. Just so that other people are aware Tour Radar don't actually organise the tour they give this responsibility to another company called Bamba experience, but they also are not the ones organising the tour, the tour is actually given by Tourist Israel so probably easier to book directly with them. It took me a few days to just find out where the meeting point was. I emailed Bamba experience and this agent replied that the meeting point was in Tel Aviv. Not sure if they realised that is an entire city and not a place. Eventually I did find out where it was. When i first arrived at the meeting point no one knew who the first two companies were. Tourist israel is only mentioned in one of the many emails that they sent me so it was very difficult to know what i should ask about. I asked the driver if i was in the right place he told me he's not the tour guide, just the driver. I tried calling to ask on their 24h phone line and of course no one answered. I asked people around and some were on a 2 day tour some on a 4 day tour. Since mine was 3 i thought it might be a different one. Then i spoke to someone who was on the 3 day tour. On a whim i got on the bus. We drove all the way to the border without anyone checking tickets or anything like that. The border crossing takes about 3h - not the tour's fault but just a heads up. We get on the Jordanian side and there was no one from tourist israel, just this guy saying 'fun time, fun time'. Someone tells him that we're not with fun time but if he knows where the guide from tourist israel is and he's like oh yeah they are the same thing. This is something we were meant to somehow know. We go with him and my name wasn't on the list. I start calling them abd sending emails and they just told me they were gonna look into it. Eventually the border allows me to go and we continue the journey. Few hours later i ask the guide if he has heard anything else from the agency and he's like yes, did i not tell you? When we got to Petra, on our lunch break there was thus guy asking people for payment. I told them that i have already paid but they guy said that he doesn't care that he hasn't received the money and if i want to get back on the tour bus then i had to pay again. Given that my options were wuite limited i paid again as I didn't want to be left in Petra. Then I got back in touch with the agency and they ensured me that they will sort it out in a few days. It took over a month and constant emails for me to get my money back and every day they would tell me i would have my money in 2-3 days. We also didn't get to sleep in the Bedouin camp as promised in the offer, hotels were 2 stars max and the food was pretty bad. Again, the sights are amazing and well worth seeing but the organisation of the tour is deplorable. My advice is to book directly with tourist israel as they seem to be the only ones in the area actually organising tours, but ask first.

Wadi Rum has grown in international recognition and is now well established as one of the major tourist attractions in Jordan and the Arabian Peninsula. Particularly in Spring and Autumn it is common for large numbers of tourists to visit the area, usually all on similar itineraries to see the regions best known attractions. We acknowledge that some guests are not focused on these major attractions and are motivated to move away from the crowds in search of some lesser known attractions within the protected area. If this sounds like you then we have a package where you will be far from the other visitors to the area but will not have to miss the beauty of Wadi Rum. This package has been designed to give guests a broad range of culture, trekking, sleeping outside in the desert, etc. If there are elements of this tour that do not appeal to you please inform us and we can customise to suit your requirements.

Wadi Rum's Red Desert Tour

If you only have one day in Wadi Rum, we recommend this tour to see the highlights of Wadi Rum's red desert. Start by hiking Raqabat Um Ajl, a famous mountain pass that Bedouins have used for centuries to cross Jabal Um Ashrin and Jabal Um Ajl.

After the hike, enjoy lunch cooked in the desert, then go to explore Lawrence Spring and ride a camel. Finally, see other popular sites in the red desert via a jeep tour of Khazali Canyon, the Sand Dunes and Little Bridge. See the sunset in Khor al Ajram with Bedouin tea.

Looking to get off the beaten path? Wadi Sabet is the area of white desert close to the Saudi-Jordan border and is less frequented by tourists. Exploring this beautiful stretch of desert is far from any roads, villages or phone connection, and allows you to truly disconnect and experience the wild beauty of the desert.

Choose between hiking Burdah rock bridge or Um ad Dami, two famous trails in the white desert. After lunch cooked in the desert, explore sites like the Bedouin well, Idthitha viewpoint, and Wadi Sabet rock bridge. End with the sunset at Um Sabbatah and Bedouin tea. Bottled water is included throughout the day.

Your English speaking driver will collect you from your Aqaba Hotel or at the Jordanian side of the Eilat/Wadi Araba border crossing and transfer you by an air-conditioned vehicle for about 1.5 hours to the rose red city of Petra, a must-see in the Middle East. With your English speaking guide walk through the 1.2km-long Siq to reach the city of Petra, passing the remains of Nabataean shrines, water channels, wall carvings and some of the original paving stones. It is important to recognize that foreigners and tourists are not allowed to drive around Wadi Rum. The only people who are authorized to drive in the area are the local Bedouin guides. This enables them to make a living and also contributes to the protection of this beautiful area.

When you are traveling to Wadi Rum, you will need to be dropped off in Wadi Rum Village.

Some very important things to know before you book your trip to Wadi Rum

For example, a full day Jeep tour (no accommodation) costs 50 JOD per person. Wadi Rum Jeep Tour

Wadi Rum Jeep Tour is the most popular way of visiting the desert. Usually you start in the morning after the breakfast in our camp. Sometimes we start in Wadi Rum Village from the main parking. Programs, depending on time, cover step by step all “must see” points of Wadi Rum desert. During the tour there is always a time to rest in Bedouin’s tent and drink traditional tea.

Please take a look at the packages we prepared on the basis of our experience. They include costs of overnight, breakfast, lunch, dinner, jeep tour, Bedouin tea, bottled water and transportation to the camp and back to village.

Wadi Rum Jeep Tour | Notes

1. Prices of jeep tours and packages are given per person depending on number of people when making reservation.

2. Prices for individual guests are given in case joining the group. If there is no group to join the price is set individually.

3. Jeep tours may be shared. Private jeep tour costs additional 10 JD per person.

4. Packages include transfer from village to the campsite and back. In all other cases one way transfer cost is 10 JD per jeep.

You start at around 10AM from the camp or Wadi Rum Village parking . In the middle of the day you stop for a lunch break. Your driver/guide prepares hot dish for you with bread, side dishes and Bedouin tea. After taking a small rest/nap you continue.

Option 1: You start at around 10AM from the camp or Wadi Rum Village parking . Jeep tour takes 4 hours. In the middle of the day you stop for a lunch break. Your driver/guide prepares hot dish for you with bread, side dishes and Bedouin tea. After taking a small rest/nap you come back to the parking in the village.

Option 2: You start at around 2PM from Wadi Rum Village parking. Driver/guide takes you for hot lunch in the desert. After that you continue your tour for 4 hours. At the end of the day you will be taken to some nice sunset spot, take tea and come back to the camp or parking lot in the village.

Wadi Rum Jeep Tour | Tips

Drink enough water. It is essential to stay hydrated so you are not tired and have no headache after the whole day on the sun. We provide cold bottled water for the jeep tour. Additionally we’ll drink Bedouin tea during sight seeing stops.

Protect your head from the sun and heat . The best way is how the locals do so wrap your head with shawl.

Use UV filter cream on your skin. It is highly recommended to do that not only during summer period.

Wear covered shoes. Choose comfortable covered shoes, especially if you go for trekking. If not you will need them as well if you want to climb a rock even during simple jeep tour.
