Personal tours by locals with original orlando tours, perfect your visit to the greatest tourist destination in the world with an orlando day tour – so many things to do in orlando beyond disney, with so many fun and unique things to do in orlando, we are unashamedly biased…but we love welcoming you as part of the 70 million annual visitors who come to orlando each year, many of who enjoy one or more of our original orlando tours to see “the other orlando”.

You are probably like most of those guests who will spend some portion of their vacation at Walt Disney World, Universal Studios and SeaWorld . But did you know, there are so many fantastic things to do in Orlando beyond those theme parks?

Often visitors need a break from the sweaty crowds and massive queue lines of Walt Disney World, Universal Studios and SeaWorld . Or they want to complement their visit with an unforgettable experience Orlando day tour to “see the other Orlando”. Many of our guests come for weeks or months and are hungry to see what else Orlando has to offer.

Well here’s a secret for you:

Native Orlandoans generally don’t go to the places that you go while you are in town!

Yes, we sometimes head over to Walt Disney World, Universal Studios and SeaWorld to share a day with friends or family when they are visiting. And while those theme parks do a great job in providing world class attractions, there are so many other things to do in Orlando.

The theme parks are just the beginning, but your visit isn’t truly complete unless you take in a least a portion of the hundreds of other things to do in Orlando that visitors rarely hear about.

“There are so many other things to do in Orlando”

So let’s do this! Push your vacation over the top when you take a break from the masses of humanity for a day with a local native tour by Original Orlando Tours, where you will also tour like a local to some of the hidden gems that we enjoy as Central Florida residents.

Have you ever swum in the pure waters of a natural spring? Ate blueberries right off the bush? Or observed wild gators and manatees in their natural habitats? Those are just a couple of the many things to do in Orlando once you get away from the concrete jungle of the tourist zone.

That’s how Original Orlando Tours was born.

If you live in Orlando for decades as we have, one thing is certain: you will have visitors, and plenty of them! Repeatedly! And our family loves seeing our friends and relatives come back each year, but each time they are looking for more things to do in Orlando besides the obvious ones. Fortunately for all of us, there are plenty of exciting things to do in Orlando and around the area.

Sunny is the mascot for Original Orlando Tours

So besides the big parks, what ARE the other things to do in Orlando?

As a starting point, we knew of dozens of hidden treasures throughout Central Florida. Old Florida attractions that were the places to visit on an Orlando vacation long before Walt Disney World, Universal Studios and SeaWorld came to town. Many are still open and inviting guests for a fun day trip from Orlando!

These Orlando attractions don’t have the budgets to compete with Walt Disney World, Universal Studios and SeaWorld . As a result, our friends and guests had never heard of many of these Orlando attractions, and often they had no idea these places even existed. But we know them well, and these Orlando attractions are eager to entertain you as many have done for decades.

Friends also asked us about things to do in Orlando that you couldn’t do any place else, or at least where they came from. So, we would take them on an old-fashioned Southern swim picnic! There they could swim, snorkel and kayak in crystal clear fresh water bubbling up from natural springs. Or we took them to observe nature from a sternwheeler , airboat , antique train or zipline .

They were excited to catch their own shrimp , or pick their own oranges , strawberries, blueberries and peaches .

Many times, they just wanted to find a pristine beach away from the crowds for a day. Or get tickets to local arts performance, or a UCF football, Orlando Magic, Orlando City Soccer or major football bowl game, but couldn’t get the best seats that we could.

On other visits, we took them to tour local wineries or to explore the shops and cafes of historic towns . Some wanted to visit local breweries or chocolate factories here. As a result of these trips and visits, we learned so much more ourselves about all the things to do in Orlando that even some other locals were not aware of.

We also turned into experts of a lot of local history. We became well-versed in all the presidents who vacationed in Orlando and their stories. We learned all about the areas celebrities and movie productions in Central Florida, and the story of how Orlando was Mr. Rogers’ neighborhood for a period of time .

And of course, there are magical things to do in Orlando during holidays!

Boy, do we know how to do holidays here! The best things to do in Orlando during the holidays are rarely known to our visitors. But we know them, and over the years we’ve been bringing dozens of friends and family along to share in those unforgettable experiences!

elvis lights up the room at the singing trees concert during an original orlando tours christmas tradition

No place on earth is as enchanting as Orlando at Christmas time!

We shared plenty of fun things to do in Orlando during other holidays too! There were fun times at local pumpkin patches or tours of the dark side of Orlando around Halloween. We visited the best places for an Easter Egg hunt in the spring and took in views of holiday fireworks above the heads of dolphins on the fourth of July.

Then our Orlando day tours formally became…Original Orlando Tours!

So we started sharing our knowledge with a portion of the region’s 70 million visitors, conducting Orlando day tours, for visitors to tour like a local and see the other Orlando hidden gems!

When we launched Original Orlando Tours, our goal was to treat all our guests just like family from day one.

We come pick you up at your hotel in air-conditioned comfort. We provide snacks and drinks along the way, just like we did for our own friends and relatives. And on the journey to that memorable destination, we share fascinating stories about Orlando that most don’t hear anywhere else.

You see, we travel too. We know how much it means to have a friendly face take you in when you visit their town. We’re a family business and we treat you like family too.

We’re so proud to share our hometown with you, but more importantly, our passion is to cap off your stay in Orlando with the most memorable experience that we can give you.

guests having a great time during an original orlando tours

About those theme parks…

And, yes, besides all the other things to do in Orlando that we love to show off, we do go to Walt Disney World, Universal Studios and SeaWorld too. And we have for 25 years. So, we not only know all the secrets, but we actually grew up with the parks.

Collectively, our family of guides have worked at Walt Disney World, Universal Studios and SeaWorld , as well as some of the other Orlando attractions for nearly 50 years before we were giving Orlando tours. Some of us have even walked Universal’s Islands of Adventure and CityWalk in hard hat and boots when it was still in dirt under construction.

This allows us to share our insight with you and your group to maximize your day at the park. We’ll get you as close to front gate as allowed by anyone. Once inside, we’ll get you to where you want to go and what you want to do without wasting your precious time. In most instances, we’ll be able to get you into express lanes and reserved seating. You’ll visit in style with efficiency and the flexibility to customize your unique Orlando tour day.

So why Original Orlando Tours again?

We want you to have a memorable great time! With so many things to do in Orlando besides Walt Disney World, Universal Studios and SeaWorld , you are only enjoying a small fraction of our town if you don’t join us to see the other Orlando.

We’ll come pick you up at the hotel and whisk you off to enjoy your day as you tour like a local. Along the way, you’ll learn fascinating facts from your local VIP guide as you enjoy snacks and drinks on any of our Orlando day tours. We treat you like visiting friends and family.

No one offers as many Orlando day tours as Original Orlando Tours does, so there are plenty of options to fit all types of interests. And if you are staying long enough, join us for a discounted second or third tour.

We love the Orlando area, and we love to make memories with our special guests as we see the thrills of joy and excitement on their faces during their time with Original Orlando Tours. Let us take you along for a VIP guided tour of Walt Disney World, Universal Studios or SeaWorld if you like. We’d love to make your day ultra-special.

But we really hope that with so many other fantastic things to do in Orlando, you let us sweep you away on a day tour to a special place; a place where lifetime memories will be made when you think of your awesome Orlando vacation, and your local day tour with Original Orlando Tours! Enjoy your stay!

Rolling Stones bring Hackney Diamonds Tour to Orlando

Rolling stones hackney diamonds tour in orlando.

An estimated 45,000-plus Rolling Stones fans eager to hear the "Sweet Sounds of Heaven" packed Camping World Stadium on Monday night.

ORLANDO, Fla. - An estimated 45,000-plus Rolling Stones fans eager to hear the "Sweet Sounds of Heaven" packed Camping World Stadium on Monday night.

"Paint it, Black"? More like green. From merchandise to food – vendors were out in full force.

"Lines here today are steady," said William Entz.

Within the first hour, Entz said they sold out of multiple items – proving time [was] on [his] side!

"They’re buying this tour’s merchandise because it may be the last time they tour," Entz said.

Alejandro Corcino and the Mr. Loaded crew Play with Fire at every Camping World Stadium event.

"We’re expecting pretty big sales," Corcino said. "It’s been good so far, you can tell – our line is over here."

Big names draw bigger crowds, Corcino said. That is something the city is working on.

According to Allen Johnson, chief venues officer for the City of Orlando, they aim to secure additional tourism development tax funding for stadium upgrades.

"These enhancements that we’re talking about for the stadium will make us in the ballgame for some of those shows that have a few more demands," Johnson said.

Johnson said he expects the Stones concert to bring in excess of $22 million.

"We’re happy they’re here, eating at our restaurants, going to our shopping, going to our attractions," Johnson said. "That’s one thing about Orlando – when people come to Orlando, they can make a weekend of it and come to a show Monday night."

"It’s Only Rock ‘n’ Roll," but Stones fans travel.

"I live in Tampa," said Michael Hall. "I drove all the way from Tampa!"

Meaning plenty of heads in beds – and money spent across the city.

"I’ve seen them in San Francisco, I’ve seen them in Los Angeles, I’ve seen them in London," said Mike Watson. "I try to follow them around."

Some concertgoers were hoping to save a buck.

"We’re looking for two tickets," said James Bakalich. "We’re not broke; we’ve got money; we just don’t want to spend it at the box office and pay Ticketmaster fees."

Others were okay with a premium for prime parking.

"Our parking can range anywhere from $20 to $70," said Katie Hollerman. "It depends on the event," Colby Hollerman added.

The mother-and-son team said this was the first big event of their busy season, and their lot quickly reached capacity.

"Whooo! [It was] before 3:30," Katie Hollerman said. "It was pretty fast!"

According to Johnson, stadium parking sold out very quickly, but garages in downtown Orlando were open, and free shuttles took concertgoers to and from the stadium.

Camping World Stadium is gearing up for several upcoming events, including the Allstate Continental Clasico USA vs. Brazil on June 12, Def Leppard and Journey joined by Cheap Trick on July 10, and Barcelona vs. Manchester United on July 30. Rolling Stones concert expected to bring in millions for Central Florida's economy

Camping world stadium estimated to have at least 42,000 attendees.

Emily McLeod , Anchor/Reporter

ORLANDO, Fla. – Tens of thousands will head to Camping World Stadium to see The Rolling Stones on Monday night .

Camping World Stadium estimates at least 42,000 people will attend the concert — but they expect that number to be higher.

The concert not only brought people in from across Florida, but all over the county and even the world.

Michael, who is visiting from Poland, said there are many reasons why he picked the Orlando date to attend the Rolling Stones 2024 Hackney Diamonds tour.

“We like Florida. We have been to Miami. We are going to St. Augustine,” Michael said. “This is also why we are here, but the main reason is the Rolling Stones concert.”

Chief Venues Officer Allen Johnson with the city of Orlando said he’s excited that Orlando is the only city in Florida where the Rolling Stones will play on their 2024 tour.

He said Monday’s concert is estimated to bring in $22 million to the local economy.

“You can do so much in Orlando that you can’t in other places,” Johnson said. “So that’s why I think it’s attractive. It’s the middle of the state, easy to get to our airport, it’s world-class, our hotels are world-class, our attractions, so it’s something to do.”

While the event is bringing in plenty of visitors from out of town, Central Floridians are thrilled to have the Rolling Stones in their backyard.

“I’ve been to many Rolling Stones concerts. I just live down the street. I just walk right over here. It’s fantastic,” said Orlando resident Lance Shaver.

Camping World Stadium said Stadium Parking is sold out for Monday night’s show. If you plan to attend, they said the best way to get to the stadium is to use the free shuttle departing from Central Avenue underneath Interstate 4.

'Date night with Mickey Mouse': Rolling Stones' Jagger calls out DeSantis at Orlando show

tours of orlando florida

Rolling Stones frontman and rock royalty Sir Mick Jagger called out Florida governor Ron DeSantis during a concert in Orlando Monday night.

“We have some great local celebrities that have come tonight. Tiger Woods is here, for instance. Joey Fatone is here,” Jagger said out from the stage at the Camping World Stadium, according to the Orlando Sentinel . “And Ron DeSantis is up there in the suite. He’s having a date night with Mickey Mouse. I’m so glad they finally made up.”

Jagger, 80, appeared with surviving Stones founder Keith Richards and guitarist Ronnie Wood to perform 19 songs in their only Florida show in the band's "Hackneyed Diamonds" tour.

It is unknown if the governor was actually present, although from the reported tone it seems unlikely. The remark was in reference to DeSantis' years-long power struggle with the Disney corporation over the company's former-CEO's comments regarding the governor's signature education bill, dubbed "Don't Say Gay" by critics.

There has been no response yet from the governor's office, and DeSantis made no mention of it at a press conference in Fort Myers Tuesday.

Jagger,  who has a long history in Florida , sold the Manatee County home he owned with ballerina girlfriend Melanie Hamrick last year.

Moves like Jagger: Other big-name musical artists have praised, dissed DeSantis

Jagger has history of political statements from stage

Last month, Jagger traded barbs with Jeff Landry over the Lousiana governor's conservative policies.

After a performance of the classic hit "You Can't Always Get What You Want" at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, Jagger said, "We're an inclusive group. We like to include everyone. The governor is here, and we'd like to include him, even though he's trying to take us back to the Stone Age."

Landry responded with a good-natured quip on X , formerly known as Twitter. "You can’t always get what you want," Landry said. "The only person who might remember the Stone Age is @MickJagger. Love you buddy, you’re always welcome in Louisiana! #LoveMyCountryMusic."

During the band's 2019 "No Filters" Illinois stop, Jagger welcomed Democratic Gov. J. B. Pritzer , "who today just legalized cannabis in Illinois. So you’re all going to light up legally next January.

"Some of you may have jumped the gun," he said.

This dazzling display of youthful energy from a man who’s about to turn 81 was the highlight of the Rolling Stones ‘ performance at Orlando’s Camping World Stadium on Monday night. Excitement was palpable as fans, many clad in shirts with the iconic tongue and lips logo, shuffled toward the stadium while the sun began to set. Some traveled from around Florida and the United States; others traveled from the United Kingdom and even Argentina to see Jagger and company play their timeless tunes. Many enthusiasts looked old enough to remember when the Stones’ biggest hits came out, but others in the next generation of rock ‘n’ roll devotees joined their parents or grandparents for what was sure to be a thrilling evening of live music.

Right before 9:30 p.m., the Stones jogged on stage to thousands of cheering fans, launching into “Start Me Up” to get the crowd going. From the moment he came into view, Jagger bounced, shook his hips, spun, danced and waved his way up and down the runway that extended toward the audience. The rockers kept the energy high early in the set with “Get Off Of My Cloud” and “It’s Only Rock ‘n’ Roll (But I Like It).”

A few songs later, the old-timers took the opportunity to welcome a much younger musician to perform with them. During “Dead Flowers,” the Stones were joined by Tyler Childers, who opened the show by jamming his high-energy country and bluegrass tunes.

After inspiring the audience to wave their hands and sing along with the band’s classic hit, “You Can’t Always Get What You Want,” Jagger took a roll call of Floridian fans.

“I want to welcome everyone here from all over the state,” Jagger said between songs, asking if there were visitors from Naples, Tampa, Miami and even Bithlo. At one point, he recalled with a nostalgic twinkle in his eye the first time the Stones played in Florida — nearly 60 years ago in Clearwater. Legend has it that’s also where and when the song “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” was written.

“We have some great local celebrities that have come tonight. Tiger Woods is here, for instance. Joey Fatone is here,” Jagger continued, perhaps tongue-in-cheek. “And Ron DeSantis is up there in the suite. He’s having a date night with Mickey Mouse. I’m so glad they finally made up.”

After Richards took a turn singing two songs, which almost felt sleepy compared to Jagger’s enthusiastic stage presence, the frontman was back and shaking his hips to the rhythmic beat of “Sympathy for the Devil.”

Showcasing the breadth of the Stones’ catalog, the band jammed on the country-infused “Honky Tonk Women” with twangy guitar riffs and jangly keyboard parts. Bassist Darryl Jones had his moment to shine with a funky solo on “Miss You.”

The musical prowess of background vocalist Chanel Haynes was on full display during “Gimme Shelter,” one of the indisputable high points of the night. With soaring high notes, she walked and sang alongside Jagger as the crowd stood transfixed by the moment.

“Paint It Black” and “Jumpin’ Jack Flash” ended the set, which included plenty of chances for both Richards and Wood to shine with rocking guitar solos and Jagger to work the crowd from every side of the stage.

It wasn’t long before the band returned for a two-song encore. Thousands of cell phone lights illuminated the stadium during the bluesy ballad “Sweet Sounds of Heaven,” a recent release featuring Lady Gaga on the studio version. While it’s undoubtedly hard to choose 19 songs to play out of a catalog of hundreds, the Stones couldn’t leave without an extended version of “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction,” which felt like the perfect hit to finish the night.

By the end of the show, it became clear that Jagger’s strength as a frontman comes from his dazzling dance moves, powerful vocals and his ability to make every audience member feel seen — like they’re all an integral part of the live music experience.

“That was [expletive] amazing,” one woman remarked as the house lights came up and the mass exodus of fans began, saying aloud what everyone was thinking. Everyone in the crowd left with a smile, a surefire sign of a rocking good time.

NEW YORK (AP) — Jennifer Lopez has canceled her 2024 North American tour, representatives for Live Nation confirmed to The Associated Press.

“Jennifer is taking time off to be with her children, family and close friends,” they said in a statement.

The tour was to be her first in five years, in support of her first solo album in a decade, “This Is Me... Now” and its companion film .

The tour was scheduled to kick off on June 26 in Orlando, Florida, and conclude in Houston on Aug. 31. Live Nation shared that attendees who purchased tickets through Ticketmaster will be automatically refunded.

Lopez offered her own statement to fans on her OntheJLo website and newsletter, writing, “I am completely heartsick and devastated about letting you down. Please know that I wouldn’t do this if I didn’t feel that it was absolutely necessary.”

She continued: “I promise I will make it up to you and we will all be together again. I love you all so much. Until next time…”

“This Is Me... Now” was released early this year, 20 years after her hit album, “This Is Me... Then.” Lopez told the AP that the new album was a “miracle” and “a second chance. And I’d love to capture this moment in time the way that album captured that moment in time.”
