After Star Trek III, Spock’s Mind Was Saved By…His Mirror Universe Counterpart?

Star trek officially confirms [spoiler] is a scotty-level engineer, 20 best episodes of star trek in tv history, ranked.

This article contains spoilers for  Star Trek: Picard season 2, episode 1.

Star Trek: Picard season 2, episode 1 featured a dramatic confrontation with a Borg anomaly - and here's all you need to know about the 34 Starfleet vessels that confronted the Borg.  Star Trek: Picard season 2 moves even further forward in time, with Picard summoned to an anomaly that turns out to have been created by the Borg . Soon a vast fleet of Starfleet vessels has arrived to support the USS Stargazer.

Most of the designs seen in  Star Trek: Picard season 2 are actually new to viewers, although several originate in  Star Trek Online . That means the capabilities of these starships are unknown, but they're presumably significant. Fortunately, none of these designs were put together at random; the show's producers have put an incredible amount of time and effort into thinking them through, and several of them contain smart Easter eggs.

In the wake of  Star Trek: Picard season 2, episode 1, production designer Dave Blass took to Twitter to unveil the 34 starships present during this confrontation with the Borg. He also revealed gorgeous artwork of each ship, giving a better look at them all. Here's everything you need to know about all the participants in this latest battle with the Borg.

The USS Avalon Discovers Star Trek: Picard's Anomaly

The Borg anomaly is initially discovered by the USS Avalon, one of the few vessels to actually be named in  Star Trek: Picard season 2, episode 1. The second starship to bear this name, the Avalon is an Akira-class vessel; according to Blass, it has the registry number NCC-63887. Viewers may well recognize the basic profile from  Star Trek: Deep Space Nine , where Akira class starships fought on the front line of the Dominion War . Artwork of the USS Avalon was created by Geoffrey Mandel.

Several other Akira-class starships joined the growing fleet in Star Trek: Picard , including the USS Thundercloud (NCC-63549), the Helios (NCC-63284), and the Rabin (NCC-63293). Artwork of the USS Helios and the USS Rabin is by Thomas Marrone; the image for the Rabin was reused for the USS Thundercloud.

The USS Stargazer Arrives On The Scene In Star Trek: Picard Season 2

The USS Stargazer was Jean-Luc Picard's first command, and it's appropriate the new Stargazer is captained by Chris Rios, a man who was drawn back into Starfleet. The first of the new Sagan-class starships, the Stargazer (NCC-82893) is equipped with technology derived from research on the Borg Artifact . Unfortunately, this proves to leave the ship vulnerable when the Borg Queen transports aboard and uses the Borg components to begin a process of assimilation. The illustration of the USS Stargazer is by John Eaves.

The USS Excelsior & USS Eureka Respond To The Stargazer

Another responder is the USS Excelsior (NCC-42037). Cadet Elnor and Commander Raffi Musiker serve aboard this Excelsior-class starship, and their vessel took the Stargazer's flank during the confrontation with the Borg Queen's vessel . The first Excelsior-class ship was introduced in  Star Trek III: The Voyage Home , and they've served as the backbone of the Federation since the days of Captain James T. Kirk. Artwork of the USS Excelsior is by John Eaves.

Appropriately enough, the USS Excelsior is accompanied by another of its class, the USS Eureka (NCC-42023). This is not the first vessel to bear this name - at least in the wider lore, with an earlier USS Eureka going up against the Borg in  Star Trek games. Artwork of the USS Eureka is by John Eaves.

The USS Rustazh & Inquiry-Class Starships In Star Trek: Picard Season 2

The Inquiry-class starships were actually introduced in  Star Trek: Picard season 1, with William Riker captaining the USS Zheng He (NCC-86505) when he arrived to help Jean-Luc Picard out. He described it as " the toughest, fastest, most powerful ship Starfleet ever put into service, " although only five ships of this class joined the fleet action against the Borg.

The five Inquiry-class ships seen in Star Trek: Picard season 2, episode 1 were the USS Rustazh (NCC-86503), the USS Magellan (NCC-86509), the USS Nathan Hale (NCC-86501), the USS Shackleton (NCC-86517), and the USS Zheng He itself. Artwork is by Tobias Richter.

The USS Gilgamesh & Other Sovereign-Class Vessels Join Starfleet's Fleet

Named after the Sumerian monarch, the USS Gilgamesh (NCC-74669) is a Sovereign-class starship - the same model as the USS Enterprise-E . They've always been heavily armed, and have been at the front lines of many clashes with the Borg. The Enterprise-E went through several refits over the years, so it's reasonable to assume the Gilgamesh and her fellow Sovereign-class vessels have up-to-date Starfleet weapons.

Gilgamesh isn't the only Sovereign-class starship at this latest encounter; there is also the USS Arsinoe (NCC-75307), the USS Hrothgar (NCC-74975), the USS Hutchinson (NCC-74957), the USS Okuda (NCC-74107), the USS Pachacuti (NCC-74181), the USS Valkyrie (NCC-74877), and the USS Venture (NCC-75306). Artwork of the USS Gilgamesh is by John Eaves.

Star Trek: Picard Establishes The Luna-Class

When Will Riker first became a captain, he took command of the USS Titan - which was described as a Luna-class starship in one official quiz. The class was then made canon in  Star Trek: Lower Decks , and  Star Trek: Picard features a shot of the USS Luna (NCC-80101) itself, along with the USS Oberon (NCC-80103). The design for the USS Luna was created by Sean Tourangeau, while the artwork is by Tobias Richter.

The USS Uhura Is A Wonderful Star Trek Easter Egg

The USS Uhura (NCC-90214) is, of course, a wonderful Easter egg to the original  Star Trek series - and to Nichelle Nichols' unforgettable portrayal of Nyota Uhura, one of Kirk's bridge crew. It's a Reliant-class starship, and like several of the new designs seen in  Star Trek: Picard episode 1 it originates from an unprecedented collaboration between the show's production team and  Star Trek Online 's designers.

Related:  Star Trek: Picard's Backstory Completes Patrick Stewart's Character Change

There are two other Reliant-class ships present during the confrontation with the Borg; the USS Clark (NCC-90206) and the USS Reliant (NCC-90200). Artwork is by Thomas Marrone.

Four Sutherland-Class Starships Join Star Trek: Picard's Fleet

There are four Sutherland-class starships among the fleet; the USS Almagest (NCC-91870), the USS Huygens (NCC-91814), the Ibn al-Haytham (NCC-91965), and the USS Sutherland (NCC-91800). This class was designed for the  Star Trek Online game, where it was described as a variation of the 24th-century Nebula class. Artwork is by Thomas Marrone.

The USS Gagarin Joins Star Trek: Picard's Fleet

The USS Gagarin (NCC-97930) is presumably the prototype of a new Gagarin-class starship in service during  Star Trek: Picard 's time perio d. In common with the Sutherland, this design originates with the  Star Trek Online game, incorporating elements of that into main canon. Artwork of the USS Gagarin is by Donny Versiga.

Two Vanguard-Class Vessels Are Seen In Star Trek: Picard Season 2 As Well

Named after celebrated Native American engineer Mary Golda Ross, the Ross-class starship was also developed for  Star Trek Online - this time as part of its 10-year celebrations. These ships are similar to the classic Galaxy-class, but with aspects of more modern designs.

Related:  Picard Finally Shows The Borg's Potential Star Trek Has Always Ignored

Two Ross-class ships join the fleet, the USS Vanguard (NCC-75148) and the Yi Sun-Shi (NCC-76545). It's interesting to note modern  Star Trek  starship names are drawn from a wider range of historic Earth cultures; the Yi Sun-Shi is named after a celebrated Korean admiral and warlord from the Joseon Dynasty. Artwork is by Thomas Marrone.

Star Trek: Picard season 2, episode 1 ended with Q rewriting history, launching Jean-Luc Picard into an alternate timeline for his own inscrutable reasons. Given that's the case, it's likely this is the only Starfleet armada that will be seen in season 2 - although it's quite possible Picard will see a fleet from this altered timeline as well. When the timeline is presumably reset, it will surely mean history is rewritten and this fleet doesn't suffer the fate of Borg control.

Star Trek: Discovery Never Showed The 32nd Centurys USS Enterprise

Warning: SPOILERS for Star Trek: Discovery Season 5

  • Star Trek: Discovery missed the chance to showcase the 32nd-century USS Enterprise, leaving fans eager for a glimpse of the iconic ship's modern look.
  • Despite not featuring the 32nd-century version, the show paid homage to the Enterprise through references and an appearance in the Mirror Universe.
  • While some Enterprise sightings were included, fans hope for a future reveal in the upcoming spinoff Star Trek: Starfleet Academy.

Star Trek: Discovery ended without showing the 32nd-century version of Star Trek's most iconic ship — the USS Enterprise. Since its introduction in Star Trek: The Original Series, the Starship Enterprise has become one of the most recognizable spaceships in popular culture. Over the years, there have been many incarnations of the Enterprise, and the ship remains a fixture of Star Trek even today. Under the command of Captain Christopher Pike (Anson Mount), the USS Enterprise of the 23rd century serves as the centerpiece of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, with a stunning upgrade for modern-day television.

The adventures of Captain Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) and the USS Discovery came to an end with Star Trek: Discovery's fifth season, as Burnham and her crew secured the powerful Progenitors' technology. Star Trek: Discovery season 5 contained more references to past Trek than any other season but still didn't offer a glimpse of the 32nd-century Starship Enterprise. Not only did Discovery introduce one of Star Trek's most unique ships, but it also set the standard for modern Star Trek Starship design. Strange New Worlds continues the legacy of ships named Enterprise , but it would have been cool to see the 32nd-century redesign of the ship.

Star Trek: Discovery Proved Burnhams Starship Is Better Than USS EnterpriseIn 1 Big Way

Star Trek: Discovery's eponymous starship made history in the series finale, besting every known version of the famed USS Enterprise.

Star Trek: Discovery Ended Without Ever Showing The 32nd Centurys USS Enterprise

Could the enterprise pop up on star trek: starfleet academy.

In Star Trek: Discovery season 4, episode 6, "Stormy Weather," Mr. Saru (Doug Jones) mentions the Enterprise as the USS Discovery is investigating a subspace rift. Saru remarks that the Enterprise had encountered a similar subspace rift and "noted heated plasma." While this could refer to a past iteration of the Enterprise, it could just as easily refer to the 32nd-century version of the ship. The USS Voyager-J remains in service during the 32nd century, so it's safe to assume that a ship bearing the name Enterprise also continues to serve Starfleet.

The USS Enterprise was a significant fixture in Star Trek: Discovery season 2.

Perhaps producers feared that an appearance by the USS Enterprise would overshadow Discovery, but it would have been nice to see the 32nd-century upgrades that have been made to the iconic ship. Considering its history as the Federation's flagship, the Enterprise has always been one of the most important ships in Starfleet. It would be surprising if the Enterprise wasn't just as important in the Starfleet of the far future. With Discovery's upcoming spinoff, Star Trek: Starfleet Academy , on the horizon, Star Trek still has the opportunity to show the Enterprise of the 32nd century and reveal its current Captain.

Star Trek: Discovery Season 5 Still Had Enterprise Sightings & Mentions

Discovery couldn't end without a glimpse of at least one ship named enterprise..

Although the 32nd-century version of the Starship Enterprise never makes an appearance, Star Trek: Discovery season 5 includes several other references to the ship. Discovery's search for the Progenitors' technology begins with a discussion about Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) and the adventure on the USS Enterprise-D that made him aware of the Progenitors in the first place. The mysterious Dr. Kovich (David Cronenberg) also refers to himself as from the USS Enterprise when he admits to Captain Burnham that he's really temporal agent Daniels from Captain Jonathan Archer's (Scott Bakula) Enterprise NX-01.

Star Trek: Discovery may not have revealed the 32nd-century Enterprise, but the show couldn't end without a glimpse of at least one version of Star Trek's most famous ship.

The most substantial shout-out to the Enterprise comes in Star Trek: Discovery season 5, episode 5, "Mirrors," when the 23rd-century ISS Enterprise makes a surprise appearance, having traveled from the Mirror Universe. When Captain Burnham and Cleveland Booker (David Ajala) enter a pocket of interdimensional space in search of the Progenitors' third clue, they encounter the derelict ISS Enterprise. A plaque on the ship reveals that the crew had escaped from the brutal Mirror Universe with the help of the Mirror Universe version of Saru. Star Trek: Discovery may not have revealed the 32nd-century Enterprise, but the show couldn't end without a glimpse of at least one version of Star Trek's most famous ship.

Update 55 – Voyager Part 2

By Star Trek 6 June 2023

star trek 2 ship

Greetings, Commanders, and welcome to Star Trek Fleet Command Update 55, Voyager Part 2. In this update, we will be highlighting the following new release: – New ship, the Intrepid Class USS Voyager – A new damage type: Isolytic Damage – New regions of the uncovered Delta Quadrant Space – New officers – And more

New Ship: Voyager

The USS Voyager is an iconic ship that is thrust into an unknown section of space known as the Delta Quadrant, embarking on a journey with one goal, to get home. In Star Trek Fleet Command, the USS Voyager comes equipped with an impulse speed rivaling the Vi’Dar and the fastest warp speed in the game. Its passive ship ability, “Feels Like Home,” deals extra damage to hostiles marked with the “DQ” tag in Delta Quadrant space. The Voyager also comes equipped with 2 brand new active abilities, “Advanced Sensors” and “Astrometrics Scan”. The first active ability, “Advanced Sensors,” allows the USS Voyager to reveal ships that evade regular sensors, such as the new Species 8472 hostiles. The second active ability, “Astrometrics Scan” can be used on another player’s ship to reveal the coordinates of their station. This ability can come in handy when you’re on the hunt for more resources or to get revenge against a hostile Commander that raided you. To use the USS Voyager to its full potential, you will want to travel to the new systems that have been revealed with the release of Update 55. There, you can combat the “Hirogen Hunter Elites” in order to collect the Hirogen Relics. These relics can then be exchanged for Deuterium Canisters, which fuel both of the Voyager’s active abilities. Once you have your Deuterium Canisters, you can use the Voyager’s “Advanced Sensors” ability to reveal Species 8472. These hostiles start at the “Velixys” system and reward Exotic Biotoxins, which can then be refined into rewards and a travel token for specific Delta Quadrant systems. These unique systems will have “Anomaly Samples”, which can be exchanged for “Voyager ship parts”, “circuitry fragments”, and the new, extremely powerful, Isolytic Artifacts.

The USS Voyager also comes with its own research tree providing 21 new nodes, accenting both your in-loop and out of loop gameplay. These nodes include damage against hostiles, impulse and warp speed, and increased payouts from artifact exchange chests. Additionally, many of these nodes affect your entire fleet.

New Artifacts: Isolytic Damage and Mitigation

The team has been working on this feature for some time, and we’re super excited with the creative possibilities this stat will bring to future releases. Additionally, in Update 55, this damage type will add a new layer of strategy into your galactic exploration, and a new way to interact with Star Trek Fleet Command.

The resourceful Vaadwaur, the formidable Devore, and even the scholarly conglomerate known as the Think Tank have all expressed interest in working with Independent operators hailing from the Alpha Quadrant. But of course, how they hope to benefit from these alliances remains to be determined. As the journey through the Delta Quadrant continues, all aspiring explorers are advised to exercise caution. One Star Trek Actor Is Switching Universes, Joining DC In Peacemaker Season 2

Star Trek: Picard

A "Star Trek" actor is jumping (star)ship to another major franchise, in a development that's sure to be of interest to DC superhero fans. The Hollywood Reporter has the scoop that Sol Rodriguez, most well known for starring in several episodes of "Star Trek: Picard" season 2 as Doctor Teresa Ramirez during the storyline set in present-day Los Angeles, has been cast in season 2 of yet another streaming series (they also add that "The Office" actor David Denman has joined the cast as well, in an undisclosed role). Rodriguez is reportedly set to join James Gunn's "Peacemaker" show, which is currently in the midst of production after taking a bit of a lengthy break as a result of Gunn's busy schedule and, of course, the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes that shut down the industry last year.

As for which character she'll be portraying? That's none other than fan-favorite DC icon Sasha Bordeaux, a figure so famous and popular that I've never actually heard of her until now. In all seriousness, the character historically has roots as part of Batman's supporting cast, initially created by writers Greg Rucka and Shawn Martinbrough and first arriving in the pages of DC Comics in 2000. In her earliest conception, Sasha was written as a martial artist and bodyguard to Bruce Wayne who eventually learns his secret identity as Gotham's Dark Knight. After being framed alongside Wayne for the murder of his ex-girlfriend (it's a long story), a near-death experience in prison leaves her scarred and disfigured, necessitating plastic surgery and a new identity that puts her in the company of villains like Maxwell Lord.

So, how will her appearance in "Peacemaker" unfold? Read on for all the details!

Peacemaker season 2 will introduce Sasha Bordeaux

Ever since "Peacemaker" season 1 came to an end back in February of 2022, fans have wondered when they'd see John Cena's antihero Christopher Smith again after his scene-stealing appearance in James Gunn's "The Suicide Squad" and, more importantly, what else the new DC Studios boss would have up his sleeve in the aftermath of his brush with the villainous organization A.R.G.U.S. and its various agents involved with "Project Butterfly." We do know that much of the (surviving) original cast will be appearing, as will  new addition Frank Grillo as Rick Flag, Sr. , the father to Joel Kinnaman's character (who was killed at the hands of Peacemaker himself in Gunn's 2021 DC film).

Now, Sol Rodriguez will be thrown into the fray in a recurring appearance as Sasha Bordeaux. Her specific narrative role in "Peacemaker" will almost assuredly be reworked once again for her live-action debut. (DC has a long and storied tradition of doing that, you may have noticed.) Gunn's streaming series will be one of the few preexisting DC properties to survive the big transition over to the new and rebooted universe, meaning that there's no need to worry about any continuity issues regarding the broader franchise. For Sasha in particular, the character isn't likely considered to be entrenched enough for any fans to cry foul over any big issues (deepest apologies to all the Sasha Bordeaux super-fans who will undoubtedly crawl out of the woodwork now). Time will tell how Gunn will approaches this upcoming sophomore season of "Peacemaker," which will hit Max sometime next year.

Star Trek: Armada II

  • View history

Following some complaints about the length of the Armada version, the single-player campaign was altered for this game; now only three races are involved, and each storyline is mostly independent of the others: the Federation must repel a Borg invasion via a new type of transwarp gate, taking the assault into the Delta Quadrant ; the Klingons must deal with a resurgent Cardassian military, while the Borg, affected by events in the Federation campaign, must stave off an attack by Species 8472, before combining with the Federation to eliminate this galactic threat.

  • All playable races except Species 8472 use them to build installations. The Borg call their ship an "Assembler". When the game starts, the player gets one starbase and/ or one, maybe two construction ships. In the main scenarios, such as the Federation Scenario, the player has one, maybe two of these ships which is used to construct the base(s) needed to complete the scenario(s).

Other ships/races [ ]

Ferengi starships (non-playable) [ ].

  • D'Kora -class – ( though can be assimilated for use in the Borg campaign )
  • Ferengi merchant vessel

Setting [ ]

Star Trek: Armada II takes place from stardate 54522 to some time after stardate 54881, some six months after the events of the first game. The Borg have been spotted in Federation space using a new vessel employed to assimilate planetary surfaces. The Cardassian Union is becoming increasingly aggressive, and the Klingons are growing tired of their role as peace-keepers.

Single player campaign [ ]

Federation campaign [ ], "invasion" [ ].

Stardate 54522.2: A Borg force has invaded the Regula Badlands. The Enterprise is dispatched to eliminate the Borg presence, reclaim the colony world, and determine how the Collective was able to make it so deep into the Alpha Quadrant . It is discovered that a new type of tachyon nebula may hold the answer to this question.

"Lifelines" [ ]

Stardate 54544.2: The Federation starbase at Alpha Theta VI is under attack, and badly needs supplies. Convoys of cargo ships need to be escorted through a treacherous nebula, and a Borg defense network, in order to resupply the base.

"Recovery" [ ]

Stardate 54566.1: Starbase 176 has been attacked by the Borg, and the area is devastated. The Enterprise must defend the base against further attacks, and rebuild its defenses to act as a staging area. The assimilated USS Douglass is recaptured from the Borg.

"Along the Neutral Zone" [ ]

Stardate 54588.0: A small fleet, led by a single Akira -class starship under the command of a Captain McDermott, is dispatched to the Romulan Neutral Zone to establish a presence in a hazardous nebula field. The Enterprise suffers severe damage en route to the area, and must be protected from an assault by a squadron of Borg cubes.

"Into The Breach" [ ]

Stardate 54612.7: The transwarp portal is known to be located within the Regula Badlands. The Enterprise and her fleet must find, capture and hold the portal to allow an assault on Borg territory.

"Inferno" [ ]

Stardate 54637.3: The Federation invasion force enters the Delta Quadrant through the captured transwarp portal. Its counterpart must be captured, and all Borg within the area eliminated. The mission is hampered by the presence of a powerful subspace field that prevents warp travel.

"The Cavalry" [ ]

Stardate 54664.7: The Federation Third Fleet is ambushed in system J-356 by vessels of unknown origin. The Enterprise responds to a distress call from the USS Allegheny , the vessel leading the fleet, and the only survivor of the attack. The presence of Species 8472 is strongly suspected, as the Federation forces scour the system of a heavy Borg presence.

"Data Retrieval" [ ]

Stardate 54694.9: A modified freighter is used to retrieve vital data on the location of the Borg staging grounds from a Borg Nexus base. A heavy assault fleet must protect the data miner until its mission is complete.

"Staging Grounds" [ ]

Stardate 54727.7: The Borg staging grounds have been located in system J-361, and a huge Borg fleet is detected. The Federation forces must assemble an assault force without alerting the Borg to their presence. Once the attack is completed, the Enterprise and the surviving vessels must retreat to an extraction point, prior to returning to the transwarp portal.

"There And Back Again" [ ]

Stardate 54760.6: The Federation forces are in full retreat. A massive Borg counterattack, coupled with the arrival of dozens of Species 8472 vessels, has forced Starfleet to pull back to the transwarp portal, and back to the Alpha Quadrant. The evacuation is almost complete, when the portal suddenly explodes, leaving the Enterprise and several dozen vessels trapped behind enemy lines...

Klingon Campaign [ ]

"uprising: a dagger at zarush" [ ].

Stardate 54642.8: A massive Cardassian force, led by Gul Kentar, has attacked and destroyed the Federation reserve fleet at its dock in the Pearl Nebula. The Klingon defense forces must hold the line at Zarush, and strike back at the invading Cardassian fleet over Vanoshan.

"Executioner" [ ]

Stardate 54656.5: With the Pearl Nebula secure for the moment, Chancellor Martok orders a retaliatory strike against the Cardassian-held world of Kestian, and other Cardassian bases in the Doltec system. The planet must be eliminated.

"Brave New Worlds" [ ]

Stardate 54670.2: The Efate system is a key location for colonization and resupply. The system must be secure before the Cardassians get there and claim the worlds themselves, denying them a crucial resource.

"Blockade" [ ]

Stardate 54683.9: The Cardassians are on the back foot, with supply lines crumbling. A chance to break the front line has emerged at Mornaur II – however, a Romulan supply convoy is en route to the system. It appears that the Romulans have been behind the Cardassians sudden rearmament. The convoy must be intercepted before it reaches the planet, and before an assault on the system can take place.

"The Unknown Prize" [ ]

Stardate 54697.6: The Kulinor class of Cardassian vessel has been seen with additional, unidentified modifications. A prototype vessel, the "Quantum Singularity Ship" has been detected on the far side of the Ketch'Tor asteroid belt, and must be captured to determine its secrets.

"The Romulan Connection" [ ]

Stardate 54711.3: Romulan duplicity in the Kentar Uprising is now clear. The Star Empire must be "persuaded" to cease its support for the Cardassians. In order for this to proceed, a series of Romulan colonies must been conquered and Romulan bases destroyed.

"Battle of Crucis Major" [ ]

Stardate 54725.0: Despite cutting off most of their supplies, Gul Kentar's forces are able to launch a massive assault on the Klingon base at Crucis Major. With defenses incomplete, Martok is barely able to escape. However, the presence of a secret base operated by the House of Tagesh may allow the Klingons to fight back and clear the system of the Cardassian invaders.

"Trojan Horse" [ ]

Stardate 54738.7: To attack a Cardassian base, a Cardassian vessel must be captured and employed to disable vital defense systems. Without it, the Klingon forces will be unable to press on and take out the base.

"To Cardassia And Victory" [ ]

Stardate 54752.4: The Klingon counterattack has reached the Cardassian system itself. The surrounding planets must be captured, before a final assault on Cardassia Prime and its powerful defenses can be mounted. Gul Kentar is able to escape as Cardassia Prime falls, but Martok and his fleet are close behind.

"The Final Battle" [ ]

Stardate 54766.1: Kentar has fled to his secret base in the Hurik system. Here, he must be destroyed, along with the quantum singularity technology the Cardassians have developed, which is how they are bringing Species 8472 into the galaxy. The station is destroyed and Kentar's ship is destroyed in combat with Martok's armada.

Borg Campaign [ ]

"werewolf pack" [ ].

Stardate 54771.6: With the destruction of the transwarp portal in "There and Back Again", a number of Borg ships, including that of the Borg Queen, have been trapped in the Alpha Quadrant, as Picard and some of the Starfleet vessels have likewise in the Delta Quadrant. The Collective must assimilate cargo vessels in order to gain resources to rebuild their forces. However, Species 8472, having been drawn into the quadrant by the Cardassians' experiments in quantum singularities, are also in the sector, and the Borg are forced to retreat.

"Pink Slips" [ ]

Stardate 54785.3: Species 8472 vessels are attacking a Federation outpost , with the Borg caught in the middle. Both sides must be eliminated if reconstruction is to proceed. Since 8472 cannot be assimilated, Federation vessels must be captured and used against them.

"Interdiction" [ ]

Stardate 54799.0: The Borg now have sufficient resources to begin consolidating their position with a Nexus base. Cargo and other vessels must still be seized until resource gathering can be initiated.

"There Goes the Neighborhood" [ ]

Stardate 54812.7: All planetary bodies in Grid 967, a Romulan-held sector, must be assimilated in order to maintain reconstruction efforts.

"The Catch" [ ]

Stardate 54826.4: A pair of Federation starships have been captured, with key information on recreating the transwarp portal. With Species 8472 in pursuit, the two vessels must be relocated to the nearest Borg Nexus immediately for disassembly and analysis. Progress is hampered by intense nebular activity.

"Interception" [ ]

Stardate 54840.1: The Klingons have captured a Species 8472 bio-ship . In order to determine how the aliens are getting into the Alpha Quadrant, the facility analyzing the ship must be assimilated, and the Klingon forces suppressed.

"Strange Bedfellows" [ ]

Stardate 54853.8: Technology 2702 – the transwarp portal – has been reacquired. In order to successfully drive Species 8472 back into fluidic space , the Borg must retrieve the Federation forces stranded in the Delta Quadrant, and negotiate an alliance. The transwarp portal must be reconstructed, and used to accomplish this objective.

"Tidal Wave" [ ]

Stardate 54867.5: The Federation and the Collective have come to an agreement – Species 8472 must be eliminated, and the only way to accomplish this task is to combine forces. A massive fluidic rift has been detected, which is allowing the bio-ships access to our galaxy. Nearby sectors must be cleared before an assault can take place.

"The Maw" [ ]

Stardate 54881.2: The fluidic rift has been located. In order to successfully traverse the barrier into fluidic space, the Federation forces need to collect sufficient resources, and scout the rift for any dangers. Meanwhile, Species 8472 bio-ships continue to flood into the quadrant, and must be eliminated.

"Rifts" [ ]

Stardate unknown: The combined Federation and Borg fleet has entered fluidic space. Three additional rifts are being generated by an unknown entity, and must be located. The rift maker must be destroyed to prevent further incursions.

With the threat from Species 8472 eliminated, the alliance is dissolved – the Borg vessels are escorted back to the transwarp portal, and sent back to the Delta Quadrant, and Picard warns that further incursions into the Alpha Quadrant will be met with the strongest force.

(A cameo is made on this level by the USS Incursion from Star Trek: Away Team . It is a fully playable ship, and features the holo-disguise ability from Away Team .)

Multiplayer mode [ ]

As with Armada , multiplayer mode (and Instant Action) sees the player competing against up to seven opponents – the last one standing wins. Armada II adds some additional gameplay modes to the on-line game, including "Capture the Flag" and "Assault". The Internet game used Gamespy servers to run online games.

Game tips [ ]

To allow complete access to and use of an enemy race's technology, capture either a starbase or a construction ship. By working up the technology tree, a player can even have access to enemy weapon technology. For example, if a Federation player captured a Borg construction ship or a nexus, that player could eventually build and use tactical fusion cubes and even a transwarp gate . Note that this is only available in Instant Action and Multiplayer mode; it cannot be done in single player mode.

To use the extra dilithium crystals (see cheat codes, below), construct a trading station to exchange them for metal or latinum . If playing as the Borg, who do not use latinum, construct a recycler to change the dilithium for metal. Species 8472 have no resource exchange capabilities.

Cheat codes [ ]

Star Trek: Armada II contains many of the same cheat codes as the original. To access the cheat codes, which are only available in single player mode, press the "Enter" key and type one of the following codes, followed by the "Enter" key again:

  • showmethemoney adds 2,000 dilithium crystals to the player's stores. These extra crystals can be sold or used like regular dilithium. This can come in handy in fluidic space (which lacks resources). This code is repeatable, to obtain more crystals, press enter, then type this code, press enter each time you need more crystals.
  • kobayashimaru will allow the player to automatically win the current mission and advance to the next mission.
  • youstopmecold will increase the speed at which ships are built.
  • avoidance will increase the rate at which new crew are recruited.

Romulan-Federation War [ ]

If Starfleet intrudes upon the Romulan Neutral Zone in the 4th Federation campaign mission more then once, it will trigger hostilities between the Federation and the Romulan Empire. Hordes of Romulans invade Federation space and begin attacks on Starfleet. The Enterprise -E becomes a priority target for the Romulans upon arrival. Even if Starfleet is able to destroy or capture the Romulan base, additional Romulan reinforcements continue arriving from outside the sector, therefore the Romulans will keep up their attacks until all mission objectives are achieved. Despite having a common foe, the Romulans and the Borg still attack one another; one could potentially cripple the other beyond recovery thereby making it easier to achieve primary mission objective. This Romulan-Federation War has no impact on later missions whatsoever.

Since the Romulan invasion virtually rivals Gul Kentar's surprise attack at the start of the Battle of Crucis Major, the best strategy is establishing a new base where the Enterprise -E arrives with a defensive line consisting of Starbases, Torpedo Turrets, Pulse Cannons, and Sensor Arrays used to ambush any enemy ships approaching through the nebula. Provided the Romulans destroy most of the Borg base, a few captured Warbirds should make short work of any Borg stragglers while using cloaking to evade Romulan patrols.
