Seton Hall University is a private institution that was founded in 1856. It has a total undergraduate enrollment of 6,012 (fall 2022), its setting is suburban, and the campus size is 58 acres. It utilizes a semester-based academic calendar. Seton Hall University's ranking in the 2024 edition of Best Colleges is National Universities, #151. Its tuition and fees are $51,370.

Seton Hall University is a private, Catholic school in the small town of South Orange, New Jersey, about 15 miles from New York City. Also known simply as SHU, the university offers more than 60 majors in eight schools, with graduate programs in the Stillman School of Business , the school of education and the law school , which is home to a very highly ranked health care law program. Seton Hall students can make the most of their degrees by working with the career center, which connects them to internship and job opportunities.

According to the school, the vast majority of SHU graduates find work in the New York or New Jersey area. But before they get that far, SHU students can explore more than 100 campus organizations, Greek life or recreational sports. More serious athletes can try out for one of the more than 15 Seton Hall Pirates varsity sports teams, which compete in the NCAA Division I Big East Conference. Notable alumni of SHU include Max Weinberg, the longtime drummer in Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band and the band leader on the television show "Late Night with Conan O’Brien."

Will always be home 7 months ago One year into my program and only one to go, my time already feels like it's being cut short. I've found such a tight-knit community here at Seton Hall, of not only students but of top-notch faculty and staff. There's an unparalleled support system that will keep you afloat during difficult times, and seeing a familiar face on campus is common and comforting. Can't speak enough about my little school, a great decision for an undergrad seeking a comfortable community with NYC in their backyard!

Hi, everyone! I'm interested in Seton Hall University and would like to know more about their room and board situation. Can someone give me an idea of what the options are like and how much they cost? Thanks a bunch!

Hello! Seton Hall University has a variety of housing options available to meet the diverse needs of its students. There are four main residence halls: Aquinas Hall, Boland Hall, Cabrini Hall, and Xavier Hall. Each hall offers a unique living environment, with options ranging from traditional double rooms to suite-style living arrangements. All residence halls have laundry facilities, common areas, and study spaces.

Aquinas Hall is available to all undergraduate students and features both double and triple rooms, with communal bathrooms shared by floors. Boland Hall, primarily for freshmen and sophomores, offers traditional double rooms, with a small number of single rooms also available. Cabrini Hall is a suite-style residence hall, where groups of 4-6 students typically share a common living area and a bathroom. Lastly, Xavier Hall provides a mix of single and double rooms with private bathrooms, and is mainly geared towards upperclassmen.

The cost of room and board at Seton Hall varies based on the type of room you choose and your meal plan. For the 2024-2025 academic year, the room rates are as follows:

- Traditional Double Room: $6,135 per semester

- Traditional Single Room: $$7,000-$10,000 per semester

For meal plans, there are three main options to choose from:

1. Unlimited Plan: unlimited visits to both main dining halls and $75 in Pirate Bucks (flexible spending) per semester. This plan costs $2,850 per semester.

2. U-300 Plan: unlimited visits to main dining halls and $300 in Pirate Bucks per semester. This plan costs $3,033 per semester.

3. U-700 Plan: unlimited visits to main dining halls and $700 in Pirate Bucks per semester. This plan is available to upperclassmen only and costs $3,363 per semester.

Keep in mind that room and board costs may be subject to change, and it's a good idea to double-check the Seton Hall website for the most up-to-date information. Keep in mind your preferences, budget, and lifestyle when selecting your housing and meal plan options.
