On the run. Not enough. Oh, and it’s so cold. When I give up, I feel love. Right down to my toes. And I see stars that never ever ever looked this bright to me. Feeling on your skin never felt this right to me. Holy roller, come on baby, someone hold me down. I’m drunk, but not drinking. Lost in wishful thinking. 'round and 'round and 'round it goes. I can hear them whispering. Call, but I’m not listening. Oh, and where it goes is somewhere no one knows. Time is up. You’ve had your fun. Oh, but it’s so loud. You hold your tongue, but one by one, the words slip out your mouth. And I see stars that never ever ever looked this bright to me. Feeling on your skin never felt this right to me. Holy roller, come on baby, someone hold me down. I’m drunk, but not drinking. Lost in wishful thinking. 'round and 'round and 'round and 'round and 'round it goes. I can hear them whispering. Call, but I’m not listening. Oh, and where it goes is somewhere no one knows. And if you meet me halfway, I’ll drive all night. Nobody’s gonna tell me it’s not right. You can’t take it away. It goes on and on and on and on, and on and on and on. I’m drunk, not drinking. Lost in wishful thinking. 'round and 'round and 'round and 'round and 'round it goes. I can hear them whispering. Call, but I’m not listening. Oh, and where it goes is somewhere no one knows. Oh and where it goes is somewhere no one knows.
So you think you’re on the right track. Cruising on the bridge in your gray Cadillac. You think it’s easy. Walking on the water like there’s stepping stones. But when every little thing’s up for taking, oh, it makes me want to sing. My heart’s breaking. Oh, there ain’t no diamond ring you could buy me to take me home. Oh, cause I’m so sick of dreaming. Oh, and I’m all that I’m needing. Yeah yeah yeah yeah. Ooh, you think you’ve seen it all. Walkin' 'round the city with the sun at your back. You think you’re so cool 'cause everybody knows you. But what’s so good about that? When every little thing’s up for taking, oh it makes me wanna sing. My heart’s breaking. Oh, there ain’t no diamond ring you could buy me to take me home. Oh, cause I’m so sick of dreaming. Oh, and I’m all that I’m needing. If you think that life without me’s like a heart attack, take a long look in the mirror and be good with that. Oh, cause I’m so sick of dreaming. Yeah yeah yeah. So he calls me up 15 minutes before the reservation and says he’s got Knicks tickets instead. I mean, I was at the restaurant! So I took the steaks to go, I had two martinis at the bar, and went to meet my friends down the street. I mean, what a loser! (I’m so sick of dreaming.) And by the way, the Knicks lost. Oh and I—I’m so sick of dreaming. And I’m all that I’m needing. If you think that life without me’s like a heart attack, take a long look in the mirror and be good with that. Oh, 'cause I’m so sick of dreaming. Yeah yeah yeah yeah.
One of these days, I’m gonna wake up smiling. One of these days, I’m gonna cry. When all of the years start to blend in together, I watch ‘em disappear in your eyes. Remember the days we used to drive upstate? Singing indie rock songs in the car. You wore your fresh leather. And blamed it on the weather for being the reason you were so difficult. But so invincible. Irresistible, but I loved you still. You kept my secrets and stole my weaknesses. In your white t-shirt, but I couldn’t fill the shoes you laid down for me, from the girls that came before. I was all the way in. You were halfway out the door. Oh I was an animal making my way up the hill. And you were going in for the kill. And you were going in for the kill. One of these days I’m gonna wake up fresh and wipe all the past from my eyes. Curl up next to you in tall grass, sunshine. And wrap my body’s shape 'round your side. Remember the days we used to ideate about what we would do all our lives? I’d be a singer and an old bourbon drinker. Oh, and we’d have a band on the side. I know I was so difficult, but so invincible. Irresistible, but you loved me still. I kept your secrets and stole your weaknesses. In your white t-shirt, but you couldn’t fill the shoes I laid down for you. From the guys that came before. You were all the way in. I was halfway out the door. Oh, you were an animal making your way up the hill. And I was going in for the kill. Oh, all of our lives. Was it worth it? Oh, or were we just wasting time? 'cause we were hurting. But I know that you know that I know you best. And I know that we both could forget all the rest. If we both can admit that we both were so difficult, but so invincible. Irresistible, but I loved you still. You kept my secrets and stole my weaknesses. In your white t-shirt, but I couldn’t fill the shoes you laid down for me. From the ones that came before. I was all the way in. You were halfway out the door. Oh I was an animal making my way up the hill. And you were going in for the kill. Oh, I was going in for the kill. Oh, we were going in for the kill.
Standing on the edge of our old corner on Broadway. I passed a couple kids, and oh it felt like yesterday that we were holding hands and walking right down 15th Street. The wind was in my hair, and you had that red flush in your cheek. And I know you find it funny ooh, but I can’t seem to let it go. I keep wishing there was something to do. Oh, don’t you? But if now was then, I would get out of my head. I would touch your chest. I would break the bed. I would say the things that I never said. Oh the things I’d do, oh, if now was then. But you can’t take it back. Oh, you can’t take it back. When Anna threw that party, I remember seeing you. It’d been a couple years, and we locked eyes across the room. You were with your new girl. Oh, and I had brought a guy that I knew back in high school, but was so empty inside. I know you find it funny ooh, but I can’t seem to let it go. I leep wishing there was something to do, oh, don’t you? 'cause if now was then, I would get out of my head. I would touch your chest. I would break the bed. I would say the things that I never said. Oh the things I would do, oh, if now was then. But you can’t take it back. Oh, but you can't take it back. Ooh, but you can’t take it back. No, you can’t take it back. I’d take it back, but I can’t. I’m sorry. I know it hurts, but you shouldn’t worry. I’d take it back, but I can’t. I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I’d take it back, but I can't. I’m sorry. I know it hurts, but you shouldn’t worry. I’d take it back, but I can’t. I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I’m sorry.
Darling, my dear. I know we’ve had a good thing going. Darling, I fear it’s time for us to do some growing. And how far do you bend before you break it all away? And how long can you wait? 'cause love is not a debt you pay. It’s not something you can give away. Love is not the final straw. But it’s always a reason to risk it all. Oh, it’s true. At least the way that I loved you. Oh, and I still do. For all of the times we knew that there was something coming. Well darling, my dear. I’m worried that we’re both just running now. And how far can you bend before you break it all someday? And how long can you wait? 'cause love is not a debt you pay. It’s not something you can give away. Love is not the final straw. But it’s always a reason to risk it all. Oh, it’s true. At least the way that I loved you. That I loved you. That I loved you. Oh, and I still do.
Started back a year ago. And oh, my eyes were closed and younger. You understated, overrated. You were making space for your hunger. You celebrated all your ways. Oh, I should’ve heard the thunder. But all that time you dedicated? It was just a waste of your anger. And it goes on and on and on. When you hear this song, and it plays on and on and on and on all along. When you realize the things that you lack. Better think twice before calling me back. Cause it goes on and on and on. On and on and on. On and on and on. On and on and on. One day you’ll be looking back and maybe wish that you were kinder. But ain’t it always just the truth, oh, that hindsight makes you softer? I played it back a million times and always wish that I was wiser. But it’ll be coming back to bite you like a dog. You know you better run for cover. 'cause it goes on and on and on. When you hear this song, and it plays on and on and on. And on all along. When you realize the things that you lack. Better think twice ‘fore calling me back. Cause it goes on and on and on. On and on and on. 'ause it goes on and on and on when you hear this song. And it plays on and on and on and on all along. When you realize the things that you lack . Better think twice ‘fore calling me back. Cause it goes on and on and on. On and on and on. Yeah, you better run.
Smooth out the lines on my face in the mirror and think about where I’m gonna go. Put on my red lipstick like a hero and swallow the fear down my throat. There’s old music playing. I can hear my friends saying there’s 10 seconds 'til it's time to go. So I put on those old heeled boots. They’ve been waiting at the bottom of the closet alone. I can’t behave, but I don’t want to be alone. But you kept me waiting, now I’m never ever going home. Never going home. Never going home. Walk in and the world starts turning. I can't help looking for you at the bar. Catch a glimpse of someone with kind eyes dancing, whose jacket’s the same color as the seats in your car. There’s old music playing I can hear my friends saying “you know it’s time to go, go, go, go, go.” Can you jump off the cliff? I know that you can handle it, and time’s got a way of letting you know. I can’t behave, but I don’t want to be alone. But you kept me waiting, now I’m never ever going home Never going — I can’t believe that you’d rather be on your own. But you kept me waiting, now I’m never ever going home never going home. Never going home. Never going home. Alright. We get to talking, but those lips aren’t your lips. We lean together, those hips aren’t your hips. When I’m out in the back and I’m catching my breath. I close my eyes to forget all the rest oh—I can’t behave, but I don’t want to be alone, no. You kept me waiting, now I’m never ever going home. Never going — I can’t believe that you’d rather be on your own. But you kept me waiting, now I’m never ever going home. Never going home. I’m never ever going home. Never going home. I’m never ever going home. Never going home.
All the same. Day by day. And suddenly, you look around and find the ground. Still feeling like it’s yesterday. The lights are on and nothing’s wrong. But still, you can’t remember when you played the game. Oh, all the same. So it goes. Time moves slow. Until one day you wake up and you realize that what you see is what you know. And still, you wish for one more kiss. A moment’s bliss from a lover you’ve always known. So it goes. Won’t you wait one more day? Give me the chance to wake up in a full romance. Just knowing that you chose to stay. If only just to keep on hoping, maybe even knowing there’s another way, oh. Won’t you wait?
My friend Sally’s getting married and to me that sounds so scary. I’m still trying to clean up my side of the street. Can’t imagine what would happen cause I’m still acting out of habit. Hoping dirty words just don’t escape my teeth. Oh and every time I try just a little. Promise that I’ll meet in the middle. I always find my way back to my feet. So close the door and change the channel. Give me something I can handle. A good lover or someone that’s nice to me. Take my money, wreck my Sundays. Love me til your next somebody. Oh but promise me that when it’s time to leave, don’t forget me. Don’t forget me. My friend Molly’s got a guy she swears to god could be her family. Says he’s got the greenest eyes you’ve ever seen. But it’s crazy all the days she spends just following him to parties. She seems happy oh but that’s not love to me. Oh but every time I try just a little. Promise that I’ll meet in the middle. I always my find my way back to my feet. So close the door and change the channel. Give me something I can handle. A good lover or someone that’s nice to me. Take my money, wreck my Sundays. Love me til your next somebody. Oh and promise me that when it’s time to leave, don’t forget me. Don’t forget me. And maybe I’m dead wrong. Maybe I was bitter from the winter all along. Maybe there’s a stranger standing, holding out for love, just waiting on the next street. Just for me. Oh just for me. So close the door and change the channel. Give me something I can handle. A good lover or someone that’s nice to me. Take my money, wreck my Sundays. Love me til your next somebody. Oh but promise me that when it’s time to leave. Oh won’t you promise me that when it’s time to leave, don’t forget me. Don’t forget me.

Maggie Rogers will support her critically acclaimed album Surrender with a 2023 North American headline run. The Feral Joy Tour – her first North American outing since 2019 – will land in Chicago on Friday, February 17, 2023 for a performance at Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom. She will be joined on tour by special guest Del Water Gap , who collaborated with Rogers on the tracks “Want Want” and “Anywhere With You” from Surrender . Surrender is the follow-up to 2019’s Heard It in a Past Life , which entered Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart at No. 1, landed her a GRAMMY® nomination for Best New Artist and went on to amass over one billion combined global streams. Raw and revelatory, Surrender finds the acclaimed producer/songwriter/performer examining the most complex emotions with fierce, unflinching vulnerability and alchemizing that heightened feeling into her most joyful output yet. The New York Times said, "‘Surrender’ [is] a hypnotically danceable ode to ecstatic abandon, making leaps and navigating worry.” Hailing Rogers as a “pop music prodigy…an artist who’s in it for the long haul,” Rolling Stone noted, “She’s someone who can command banjo-strummed roots music, streaming-friendly synth-pop, and anthemic arena rock.” Pitchfork observed, "On Surrender, she sounds renewed, submitting to the pull of her heart without apology....Rogers has grasped something like transcendence, a release worth chasing." V Magazine declared, “[ Surrender ] cements Rogers as one of the voices of her generation.”

ANNOUNCES THE FERAL JOY TOUR: NOVEMBER 2022 UK AND EUROPEAN LIVE DATES
GRAMMY® Award-nominated producer/songwriter/performer Maggie Rogers is pleased to share her new single, “Want Want” – a big, bracing celebration of the irresistible pull of desire. She teamed up with Kid Harpoon and Del Water Gap to produce the track, which was recorded at Electric Lady Studios in New York City, Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios near Bath, England and Sid’s Palace in Scarborough, ME. The song was originally written in quarantine with Del Water Gap in Maine and brought to its full form with Kid Harpoon in NYC and Bath.
Filmed at a karaoke bar in NYC’s Koreatown, Rogers performs “Want Want” with raw abandon in the official video. The energy builds as the sinuous verses give way to the frenzied chorus and she’s joined by her band and a growing, grooving crowd. View HERE. The clip was directed by Warren Fu who also collaborated with Rogers and director Michael Scanlon, on the visual for her previous single, “That’s Where I Am.”
“Want Want” is taken from Rogers’ new album, Surrender, released by Capitol/Polydor Records on 29th July. Fans who pre-order the digital album will instantly receive “Want Want” plus “That’s Where I Am.”
ogers has also announced details of a new UK and European headline tour for later this year, kicking off on 31st October 2022 in Leeds. The 17-date run includes a show at London’s Alexandra Palace on 10th November - Rogers’ biggest UK headline show to date, and her first since a sold-out show at London’s Brixton Academy back in February 2019. Full tour details are listed below. Please visit Maggie's tour dates page for presale details MaggieRogers.lnk.to/tour
In early 2020 – after multiple sold-out headline tours and major festival performances in support of 2019’s Heard It in a Past Life, which entered Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart at No. 1, landed her a nomination for Best New Artist and went on to amass over one billion combined global streams – Rogers retreated to the coast of Maine. Channeling the ocean’s unruly energy, she soon arrived at the controlled chaos and ecstatic physicality that would come to define Surrender. Over the course of 12 unfettered yet exactingly crafted tracks, Rogers fully captures the frenetic intensity of the last two years of her life, bringing her bracing honesty to stories of anger and peace and self-salvation, transcendence through sex and freedom through letting go.

Maggie Rogers Brings Stunning “Feral Joy Tour” to Radio City Music Hall: Review, Photos and Setlist
Rogers' stop in New York City included special guest David Byrne
It wouldn’t be strictly accurate to say that Maggie Rogers ’ show at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall on Wednesday night (February 15th) served as a homecoming show, but it wouldn’t be a totally wrong statement, either. The evening — which was part of her “Feral Joy Tour” (grab tickets here ) — felt at least like a spiritual return for Rogers to the city that turned her into a pop sensation nearly overnight. Rogers was raised as a folk-music lover in Easton, Maryland, content to play her banjo; now, she’s performed a sold-out show at the site of her NYU graduation ceremony in 2016.
“I graduated here, on this stage,” a breathless Rogers said in the middle of an energetic set. Rogers is an enchanting and charismatic performer, a firecracker, and she feeds off the dynamism of her audience as much as they do with her. “I keep looking out into the crowd, and just know that I can see each and every one of you. I keep thinking that I recognize the faces of people I went to college with!”
Rogers’ sophomore record, Surrender , is filled with meditations on embracing her emotions, instead of running away from them. There is an alternative pop sheen across the record, and a folk tenderness that goes hand in hand with the intimacy of the subject matter. Material from Surrender dominated the night, with “Overdrive” and “Want Want” kicking off the set in sprightly fashion. By the time “Honey” arrived, Rogers and the crowd were one; she is a joy to watch as a performer, her music taking on a life of their own when played live. Her songs have a special kind of ferocity and grandeur that is best felt amidst a crowd.
Maggie Rogers, photo by Rich Fury/MSG Entertainment
She dedicated the emotive “Love You for a Long Time” to New York City, the crowd jubilantly joining in on the singalong. The audience were locked in to Rogers for every song, but even when the synergy was even the tiniest bit off, Rogers had no trouble pointing it out.
“Oh come on, you guys can do better than that!” Rogers roared playfully at the masses after requesting her band restart “Be Cool,” deeming the initial energy lackluster. “That’s more like it!” she yelled once the crowds were back to matching her, beat for beat. Rogers also insisted on re-starting the third verse to “I’ve Got a Friend” after stumbling on a fresh version of the lyrics — “We’ve got to do that song again! We can’t mess up that Robert Pattinson line!” — and the crowd dutifully obeyed with a raucous, clear delivery of: “Oh, I’ve got a friend who’s been there through it all/ Masturbates to Rob Pattinson staring at the wall!”
“Alaska,” the song that earned Rogers industry attention and truly catapulted her career was an obvious highlight of the set, but the true gem of the night came directly afterward when the one and only David Byrne appeared on stage to join her for “Strange Overtones.”
“For one night only… it’s David Byrne! ” Rogers exclaimed to a fervent crowd as the duo launched into an animated performance of his 2008 track, complete with a full dance routine for both parties.

Maggie Rogers Announces The First Dates Of Her 2022 ‘Feral Joy’ Tour
After some teasing , Maggie Rogers announced her new album Surrender out in July. Her singles “ That’s Where I Am ” and “ Want Want ” showcased her new direction toward bigger, more ambitious pop anthems. About the latter track, she said, “It was really just about the fun of it all. Some bubblegum world to escape to in the middle of the isolation and darkness.” This bright texture of her songs has excited fans, previewing a colorful, uplifting record.
The “Alaska” singer recently announced that she’ll be bringing her new music to stages in the UK and Europe this fall on the Feral Joy tour. It will kick off in Leeds at the O2 Academy at the end of October, and it’ll go through to the end of November, ending in Stockholm at Cirkus. Rogers shared a teaser video promoting the tour today. Presumably, North American dates will be announced at some point in the near future.

Maggie Rogers takes a nostalgic Southwest road trip with 'Don't Forget Me'

Maggie Rogers says her new album, Don't Forget Me , is modeled on a Sunday afternoon driving record.
Singer-songwriter Maggie Rogers describes music as the "most sacred and most spiritual thing" she's ever been a part of. "Whether it's being in the crowd at a show at an early age, or being on stage with my band when we're all jamming or playing music together," she says, "that, to me, is the closest thing I've ever felt to something divine."
In 2021, burnt out from the intensity of her early career, Rogers considered quitting music entirely. Instead, she took a detour — to Harvard Divinity School. Her studies focused on public gatherings and the ethics of power in pop culture.
"My master's degree is in religion and public life," Rogers says. "This program that I went to was specifically for people who don't work in religion, who want a greater understanding of religion and the way it works in the world to be able to inform their non-religious life."
Rogers' latest album, Don't Forget Me , features songs written from the perspective of a 25-year-old woman who's leaving home and embarking on a road trip through the American Southwest.
"The album is sequenced in the order that I wrote the songs in," she says. "I was sort of writing [the songs] like scenes in a movie that takes place over, like, 36 hours, and has a very Thelma & Louise -esque ride to it."
Rogers says she always makes the album that she wants to hear. "Maybe that's selfish, or maybe that's just intuitive." She adds, laughing, "Or maybe that's the understanding that I'm going to play these songs a million times over the course of my lifetime."
For a special extended version of this interview, listen to the podcast version of this episode.
Interview highlights
On performance as therapy
I'm always working through something energetically on stage, and I find performing to be a kind of resonant therapy. You think about your body as this big combination of living, breathing organs and singing. It's resonant. I mean, you send vibration through your body for two hours straight every day and you're going to knock some things loose.
On art as a vessel for nostalgia
I think about songwriting a lot as a form of archiving. I mean, obviously I'm a nostalgic person if my record is called Don't Forget Me . There's so much beauty in life, and so much detail, and so much memory, and I do worry about forgetting it all — or being able to, like, get my arms so full of detail that I don't drop anything. Putting it into my art feels like one way of being able to just keep holding it. It's really a part of who I am.
Maggie Rogers: Tiny Desk Concert
My dad always tells the story of the night I turned 5 — he found me sobbing. I was just completely overwhelmed at the fact that I would never be 4 again ... this idea of time, the way that it slips through your fingers and not being able to go back. The thing about being on stage is the second it's awesome and you're like, something is really happening here , it's gone, and you can't hold it. You can just be present in it and hope that you remember it.
On her songwriting process
Songwriting, to me, is like a word puzzle. I always have the melody and the layout of a song first; sometimes, certain vowel sounds or certain words will come with the melody. There is a sort of shape to that current: You inherently understand how many syllables and the shape of what should go there. So it's like doing building blocks and a crossword puzzle in the same breath.
On the viral video of Pharrell Williams hearing her demo "Alaska," and becoming a star overnight
It was really, really scary when it happened. I was incredibly overwhelmed. It was complicated because I got the job that I had trained for and that I'd always wanted – exactly in the moment when I needed a job. And yet, it was so deeply and wildly out of my control. It felt like something that was happening to me, even though it was something I had prepared for, like, a decade at that point.
Part of me wishes that I got to upload that song and present my artistic statement. But I think what's really special about that video is how unguarded I am, and Pharrell is. If it happened any other way, it wouldn't be what it is. And I feel actually really lucky that the version of me that got introduced to the world is and was the most authentic version of myself.
Do I wish that I brushed my hair and put on a real outfit? That's the thing that's sort of funny about it: When I suddenly became a pop star, I needed a lot of clothes — suddenly I needed colorful, glittery outfits. I was like, "What do you mean I can't wear my jeans and boots?"
On learning music production to get around gatekeepers
I was writing songs in high school, and I couldn't get the guys to play my arrangements. So I learned how to program. I learned how to play the songs by myself and create the arrangements for drums and bass and synth and all these things on the computer. And when I got to school and I could learn about engineering and software and production and microphones and drum technique, it became something that allowed me to protect my vision. They were tools that allowed me to get the thing that I heard in my head down onto paper. The democratization of music software and the way that the internet has changed the power that gatekeepers within the industry have is something that is really inspiring to me.
On writing the song "Light On" about grappling with success
The sort of wild thing about fame or success is that it lifts you up, but also it is incredibly lonely. And I was having this experience that was everything I'd ever wished for, yet felt kind of uncreative. I really missed my friends and missed my life, and I just didn't know how to handle all of it. I had this Cinderella story [and it] felt really vulnerable to sort of say, I'm struggling with this. It doesn't feel as amazing as it looks. And that doesn't change how much I'm grateful for it. There is a complicated nuance in the middle.
It was really scary when I had to say all these things for the first time. But now it's been replaced by all of the joy that I've felt as a result of that decision, to stay in it and to find a way to make this thing feel like me.
Therese Madden and Thea Chaloner produced and edited this interview for broadcast. Bridget Bentz, Molly Seavy-Nesper and Daoud Tyler-Ameen adapted it for the web.

WGS 84 coordinate reference system is the latest revision of the World Geodetic System, which is used in mapping and navigation, including GPS satellite navigation system (the Global Positioning System).
Geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude) define a position on the Earth’s surface. Coordinates are angular units. The canonical form of latitude and longitude representation uses degrees (°), minutes (′), and seconds (″). GPS systems widely use coordinates in degrees and decimal minutes, or in decimal degrees.
Latitude varies from −90° to 90°. The latitude of the Equator is 0°; the latitude of the South Pole is −90°; the latitude of the North Pole is 90°. Positive latitude values correspond to the geographic locations north of the Equator (abbrev. N). Negative latitude values correspond to the geographic locations south of the Equator (abbrev. S).
Longitude is counted from the prime meridian ( IERS Reference Meridian for WGS 84) and varies from −180° to 180°. Positive longitude values correspond to the geographic locations east of the prime meridian (abbrev. E). Negative longitude values correspond to the geographic locations west of the prime meridian (abbrev. W).
UTM or Universal Transverse Mercator coordinate system divides the Earth’s surface into 60 longitudinal zones. The coordinates of a location within each zone are defined as a planar coordinate pair related to the intersection of the equator and the zone’s central meridian, and measured in meters.
Elevation above sea level is a measure of a geographic location’s height. We are using the global digital elevation model GTOPO30 .

My heart's breaking. Oh, there ain't no diamond ring you could buy me to take me home. Oh, cause I'm so sick of dreaming. Oh, and I'm all that I'm needing. If you think that life without me's like a heart attack, take a long look in the mirror and be good with that. Oh, cause I'm so sick of dreaming. Yeah yeah yeah.
