Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered: Release Date, Platforms, & Changes From The Original

Where does echoes of wisdom take place on the zelda timeline, frostpunk 2: should you salvage or settle in winterhome (best choice & outcome).

As Aloy traverses through the vast world of Horizon Zero Dawn , she may feel the pressing need to fast travel more and more, but fast travel packs are one-time-use items that quickly get annoying to restock. Fortunately for Aloy, there is an unlimited fast travel pack. Where can she get this golden fast travel pack?

Related:  All Power Cell Locations in Horizon: Zero Dawn

Fast travel isn't just a magical ability that allows Aloy to go anywhere though. First, she must traverse and discover campfires, settlements, cauldrons, and tallnecks throughout her travels. These spots will be her points that she can fast travel across the map.

How to Get the Golden Fast Travel Pack in Horizon Zero Dawn

As the standard fast travel packs are a one-use item and hard to find, players will likely have to stock up on them in the earlier stages of the game. At this point in time in the game, they can also be quite expensive as players will likely want to spend their metal shards on spears, bows , and other weapons to defeat the different metal monsters .

The golden fast travel pack is luckily not too difficult to get. This pack is available at any merchant that is above the second tier. This pack can be bought for either 50 metal shards, one fox skin, and 10 pieces of fatty meat in a regular game or 2,000 metal shards, three fox skins, and 30 pieces of fatty meat in a new game plus. While metal shards are the main form of currency in the game, they are often bolstered with an added trade item.

In this case, the fox skin and fatty meat. Obviously, the fox skin can be taken from any fox, but may not spawn with every one hunted. The fatty meat can be hunted from animals such as the badger, boar, fox, goat, goose, owl, rabbit, raccoon, salmon, squirrel, trout, and turkey. With this in mind, a player will just need to take part in a little flesh and blood animal hunting to get their extra trading components for the golden fast travel pack.

With this pack in hand, Aloy will now be able to travel from one end of her discovered map to the other without any need to hesitate and think over her finances. This pack can help out players who are challenging themselves often and fighting metal monsters that they aren't quite positive on how to beat. Whether Aloy needs an easy escape route or is simply tired of fighting her way across the land, the golden fast travel pack is incredibly useful.

Horizon Zero Dawn Fast Travel - how to get the Golden Fast Travel Pack for unlimited fast travel

How and where to get your hands on the hugely useful Golden Fast Travel Pack.

Fast Travel in Horion Zero Dawn works a little differently to the standard method we've come to expect from open-world adventure games.

Unlike most, it's limited, relying on Fast Travel Packs - items carried by Aloy - in order to work. However, there is a way to unlock that mechanic and grant unlimited fast travel to any discovered Campfire, thanks to the Golden Fast Travel Pack .

So, exactly how does fast travel work , how do you get the Golden Fast Travel Pack , and how exactly do you unlock unlimited fast travel in Horizon Zero Dawn ? All of that is explained here in our guide, below.

golden fast travel pack zero dawn

How does fast travel work in Horizon Zero Dawn?

Fast Travel in Horizon Zero Dawn revolves around Campfires or, more specifically, Campfires you've already visited.

You don't have to have saved at them or even interacted with them, just have got close enough to have the text pop up on screen that it's been discovered. From then on, you'll be able to fast travel to that location, provided you have one other thing: a Fast Travel Pack.

In the early stages of the game, these are found from certain vendors or, if you're lucky maybe a random crate or slain human enemy.

These Packs act as one-time-use consumables, meaning you'll need to stock up, at a fair bit of expense to both your time and Metal Shards, if you want to fast travel often - and as the game progresses, you probably do.

How to get the Golden Fast Travel Pack in Horizon Zero Dawn

Enter, the Golden Fast Travel Pack. Narratively unexplained but nonetheless incredibly useful, this pack will let you travel an unlimited number of times, without worrying about stocking up your inventory.

It's obtained from a number of Traders around the world of Horizon, although for the record we sourced ours from the merchant just outside Meridian, by the big bridge leading into the city.

How much does the Golden Fast Travel Pack cost? Well, it's relatively cheap:

  • 50 Metal Shards - obtained from all kinds of sources but, most commonly, from slain machines or selling items to merchants.
  • 1 Fox Skin - somewhat harder, although far from impossible, to obtain. This drops randomly from wild Foxes you can hunt anywhere on the map. Forresty areas are generally the best, and we found one after only killing a handful, so it shouldn't take you long.
  • 10 Fatty Meat - this, again, is quite easy to find. It comes from any wild animal you can hunt, so you can normally pick some up from a quick trip into the wild where you can hunt Boar, Turkey, and Fox at your will.

For more tips, explainers and advice on Horizon be sure to check out our main Horizon Zero Dawn guide and walkthrough hub, which includes advice for things like Horizon Zero Dawn's override Cauldrons and which machines they let you control, getting hold of the Golden Fast Travel Pack for unlimited fast travel , finding and unlocking the very powerful Horizon Zero Dawn Shield Weave Armour and Power Cell locations , and then for DLC players there's our main Horizon Zero Dawn Frozen Wilds walkthrough and guide , a page on how to earn Bluegleam quickly , and finally, a page on the handy A Secret Shared quest and how to upgrade your spear in Horizon Frozen Wilds .

Once you have the required items, simply head to a general goods merchant, and it can be found at the bottom of the 'Resources' tab, shaded in purple for Very Rare.

That's all you need to know in terms of fast travel, but for more tips and tricks, take a look at our hub page, featuring a complete Horizon Zero Dawn walkthrough and guide for the main story, as well as our guide to all Power Cell locations for the secret Shield-Weave armour , too.

Horizon: Zero Dawn Guide: How To Fast Travel For Free (Golden Fast Travel Pack)

Image of Dean James

Horizon: Zero Dawn has finally released and with it comes one of the most impressive open worlds to date that manages to feel alive throughout. The only downside of such a large world to explore is that traveling between points can take quite awhile, even with a mount. The game does offer Fast Travel Packs that you can craft, but what you may not know is that there is a special Fast Travel Pack that you can get relatively early in the game that allows you access to infinite free fast travel.

The world of Horizon: Zero Dawn is filled with plenty of settlements and camp fires that very often feature a traveling merchant that you can speak with to get new weapons, outfits, resources, and more in exchange for specific items. You can purchase regular Fast Travel Packs from these merchants, but there is also something very useful that you may not notice in the menu that will save you a lot in the long run.

When speaking with a merchant, go down to the resources that they have for sale. At this point, you will notice the Fast Travel Pack at the top of the list, followed by other resources. However, since these are listed by rarity, the one we really want is at the very end of the list.

Scroll down to the bottom and you will see the Very Rare item known as the Golden Fast Travel Pack. This item provides you with unlimited Fast Travel to discovered Campfires and Settlements throughout the world of Horizon: Zero Dawn, so you can easily see how useful it is.

To get this item, you will have to exchange 50 Metal Shards, 1 Fox Skin, and 10 Fatty Meat. The Metal Shards should be pretty easy for you if you are scavenging for resources a bit. A fox will require you to actually kill a fox, so keep an eye out for those. You will also have to kill plenty of other wild animals in the hopes of getting Fatty Meat, as there are different types of meat to find.

After collecting all of these items, go to the merchant and get the Golden Fast Travel Pack to make you experience in Horizon: Zero Dawn all the better, with you able to zip around the map to discovered locations with no worry of lacking the resources to do so anymore.

Fast Travel Pack

A Fast Travel Pack is a common item in Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West that allows the player to fast travel to any discovered campfire in the game a single time.

In Horizon Zero Dawn, a Golden Fast Travel Pack allowing for unlimited fast travel is available for purchase from merchants above Tier 2.

Sylens is seen carrying an item similar-looking to a fast travel pack. This might be a Fast Travel pack.

Horizon Zero Dawn – How to Fast Travel

Image of Prima Games Staff

Horizon Zero Dawn’s world is huge and players might not want to walk everywhere they go. Fortunately, there is another way to travel around the world, and that is accomplished by Fast Traveling. Fast Travel in Horizon Zero Dawn works a bit differently than other games.

In this article, you’ll find everything you need to know about Fast Travel in Horizon Zero Dawn. We will even let you know how to get the Golden Fast Travel Pack!

How to Fast Travel in Horizon Zero Dawn

Fast Travel in Horizon Zero Dawn relies on two things. First, you must have discovered Campfires or settlements around the game world. Once you have discovered these locations, they will be marked green on your World Map. You can then select them and press R2 to Fast Travel to them.

If you want to actually travel anywhere, you’re going to need Fast Travel Packs, which are special resources you can purchase or receive from quests that Aloy completes during her journey. These items aren’t generally hard to come by, but they will cost you both space in your backpack, as well as resources.

Fast Travel Packs can be purchased from merchants for 2 Metal Shards, 15 Ridge-Wood, and 1 Rich Meat. This not only takes away your Rich Meat, which is a useful material to hold onto for trading, but it also takes away from your Ridge-Wood supply, which is needed to craft more ammunition for Aloy’s bow. This is the main reason that purchasing Fast Travel packs is annoying, as it requires you to constantly pick up more resources on your journey to other areas.

Thankfully, you don’t have to purchase Fast Travel Packs forever. Once you’ve made your way through the game and followed the quest, The City of the Sun to Meridian, you’ll have the option to purchase a Golden Fast Travel Pack. This item allows you to Fast Travel an unlimited amount of times, but it does come at a hefty price.

How to Get the Golden Fast Travel Pack

To purchase the Golden Fast Travel Pack you will need 50 Metal Shards, 1 Fox Skin, and 10 Fatty Meat. Fatty Meat aren’t exceptionally hard to come by, and at this point you should have plenty of Shards collected in your pack. The Fox Skin could turn out to be a bit troubling for some players to acquire, though, as animal skins are not guaranteed drops.

With the proper items in tow, make your way to Meridian and speak with a Hunters Goods merchant to buy the pack.

Once you have the Golden Fast Travel pack, you can easily Fast Travel to any location you’ve already discovered in Horizon Zero Dawn.

For more help like this, check out our Horizon Zero Dawn guide , which will teach you more about how to override machines , as well as offer some general tips to help you survive the robot-infested lands that Aloy must journey through. We’ll have more coverage in the coming days, so check back often for updated content.
