Aside from travel bloggers who share their personal travel experiences and actually earn through sponsorships and ads, travel-focused professions like booking agents, cruise marketers, and airline customer service jobs (among others) are now being offered as work-from-home opportunities.

That is, being a travel agent is no longer the only way to break into the travel industry and make money.

Today, we look at how to become a travel consultant: what they do, what the job entails, how to start your own travel consultancy business, and where to find travel consultant jobs to benefit from their training and experience.

What Does A Travel Consultant Do?

The main responsibility of a travel consultant is to create an exceptional travel experience for their clients.

To do this, you’ll need to pay close attention to each client’s likes, dislikes, travel background, hobbies, and interests.

Of course, it’s also your job to listen to what your client wants and needs to accomplish for each trip, whether it’s for business or pleasure.

You can then create a proposal with options for transportation, accommodation, tour packages, and other aspects of a particular trip, including the pros and cons of each option.

When your client has decided, it’s then your job to make all the necessary arrangements and reservations.

Plus, you need to be ready to assist your clients with any concerns or questions they would have before, during, and after each trip.

Building strong relationships with your clients is the focus of being a travel consultant, as repeat business and referrals through positive word of mouth are more valuable than one-offs.

While both are legitimate travel jobs, you might think a travel consultant is the same as a travel agent , but they’re different from each other.

Travel consultants offer a more personal service, as they create itineraries and book accommodations, facilities, tours, and experiences based on their clients’ preferences and personality.

They are more involved in decision-making, and they usually go the extra mile to make sure each travel experience is tailored to each individual client.

On the other hand, travel agents are usually tasked to book reservations for a customer who more or less already knows what they want.

Rarely any collaboration happens between a customer and travel agent and rarely is a travel agent asked for input in travel decisions by that customer.

You can also think of it this way: Travel agents book what their software says is available, while travel consultants book whatever would make their clients’ travel a pleasant, memorable one and go beyond expectations.

If you’re already a licensed travel agent, you might want to learn how to become a travel consultant. Not only does being a consultant pay more, but it’s also a more fulfilling, rewarding career choice.

Travel Consultant Job Requirements

Since you’re going to be working from home, you’ll need to set up an office at home, ideally somewhere quiet with minimal background noise.

An up-to-date computer or laptop, high-speed internet, a noise-canceling USB headset (performs better than wireless or Bluetooth ones), and a high-definition web camera for video calls are the basics you need to have in our home office.

Aside from your home office setup, here are the requirements to become a successful travel consultant.

• A website – It’s always a good idea to set up a website as your portfolio and a means for people to contact you. If your time permits it, posting on the blog would provide you organic traffic from keywords like “travel planning service” or “(place) itinerary.”
• Extensive knowledge in the travel industry – You need to know the ins and outs of the travel industry, including when to score low-priced airline tickets, a wide range of accommodation options beyond 5-star hotels, and other travel-specific considerations.
• Real-world travel experience – While the job is mainly conducted online, either through emails or a hosted platform like UpWork.com, you still need to be well-traveled and not just on popular destinations. Having first-hand experience allows you to plan and recommend properly since you know how much expenses are “really” locally, or have been through popular and unpopular destinations.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills – Most itinerary planners also negotiate deals with hotels, travel agencies, and other companies. Of course, you’ll have to make sure you profit more from the deal to sustain your business.
• Connections with the travel industry – This doesn’t just involve big hotel chains, airlines, and cruise companies. You’ll have to expand your connections to be able to bag deals, especially those that require prior booking.
• Advanced marketing skills – Freelancing is tough, so it’s important to learn marketing techniques in this modern world. Aside from your website, you should also have an online presence on social media networks, forums, and more.
• Technical skills – If you were born after 1980, you’re likely to be tech-savvy already. Bear in mind that you’re going to be working online and using different types of software, applications, and systems to book travel essentials.
• Certifications – I know I said being a travel consultant is different from being a travel agent, but for you to be able to book certain accommodations and flights, you’ll need to have some travel agent certifications. Besides, it improves your credibility a lot. Check the programs offered by American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) . Once you have your business set up as a sole proprietor, you can then apply for your International Air Transport Association (IATA) accreditation so you can book flights.

How Much Can You Earn As A Travel Consultant?

Generally, the average travel consultant salary can range between $27,000 to $47,000 per year, with the usual rate at around $30,000 per year. The biggest perk with this job is the number of travel deals you can receive, which you can either use personally or sell for extra income. However, because freelancing is a very fluid thing, this income could either go up or down, depending largely on the effort, time, and capital you plan to invest in this profession.

In some cases, you can charge a fixed amount per itinerary, or base your fees on the travel budget of your clients. The great thing about freelance travel jobs is that you have total control of pricing your services unless, of course, you apply for a full-time home-based travel agent job with a third-party company.

If you’re willing to invest in marketing your services, you can earn more by targeting potential clients through Facebook Ads, Reddit Ads, or even Google search.

How To Become A Travel Consultant

Being a freelance travel consultant can be broken down into the following steps.

1. Gather your requirements.

Setting up your home office and honing your communication, technical, and sales skills are the first steps to being your own boss.

Don’t be afraid to get some training if you think you need it. Whether it’s learning about geography and international travel, or improving your communication skills, you’re likely to find free online courses on sites like Udemy or Coursera.

2. Decide how you can provide the most value.

The most successful travel consultants are those who know exactly where their strengths are and what they can offer their clientele that no other travel consultant can provide.

The travel industry is huge; there are plenty of niches and sub-niches. It’s a matter of finding your own.

Some examples of different types of travel include corporate, leisure, luxury, budget, sports, adventure, sightseeing, foodie, student, backpacker, seniors, singles, couples, small families, etc.

3. Get some experience.

Despite the availability of training courses and programs online, nothing will prepare you for becoming a travel consultant than actually doing it.

Activate your social network and offer your services at a discounted rate to your family, friends, acquaintances.

Even better, apply for a job to companies offering travel consultant jobs. Get paid to train and practice, and you may even get some of your certifications for free. See the next section to find out where to apply.

4. Promote your services

When you feel you’re ready to start your business, build your website where your services are emphasized.

You can also add a blog with articles documenting your previous travels, providing useful travel tips, and listing the top places to visit in a city or country. The goal is for your website to show up on search results of people who are looking for what you’re offering.

You can even set up an appointment system on your contact page, in case casual browsers end up interested in your services and want to set up a conversation over the phone or through a video call.

Your social media should also be active in promoting your services and directing your followers to your appointment page.

Where To Find Travel Consultant Jobs

As I’ve mentioned, having plenty of experience as a travel consultant gives you more of an advantage when you start your own business.

Here are a few companies currently hiring travel consultants.

1. Enchanting Travels

Enchanting Travels is an award-winning tour operator providing customized trips based on their customers’ interests and preferences.

They continually have openings for remote travel sales consultants who talk to clients, find out what their ideal destination and experiences are, and create tailor-made proposals based on their knowledge.

2. Robert Half

Robert Half is a recruitment and consultancy company with plenty of remote job openings.

They are currently recruiting a remote travel and lifestyle consultant to handle clients that take luxury trips multiple times a year, whether it’s for business or pleasure.

The catch is that while this is a remote position, you’ll need to reside in the San Francisco Bay Area.

If this position is no longer available, try to search for “travel consultant” in their job boards to see what comes up.

3. Travel Placement Service

This site is a job board that specializes in travel and hospitality jobs.

They currently have multiple openings for travel consultants: corporate travel consultants, luxury travel consultants, and travel sales consultants are just some of the openings currently available.

They continually open remote full-time travel consultant jobs, especially for those who can work nights and weekends.

5. FlexJobs

Planning other people’s trips can be a challenging yet fulfilling profession.

What’s interesting about becoming a travel consultant is that since you combine blogging with freelancing for work, you won’t notice that you’ve been building a self-sustaining blog in the long run. And since people can make a full-time income with their blogs , it’s a win-win having both a passive income-generating blog and quick-cash-making freelance job.

The 'Friends' Experience Is Coming to Las Vegas — What to Know

Cue up The Rembrandts and grab your besties to dance around the famous Friends fountain, "The Friends Experience" is setting up a West Coast flagship location in Las Vegas to help celebrate the show’s 30th anniversary.  

Dubbed “The One in Vegas,” this Friends Experience — much like the traveling versions — will put visitors right on the recreated sets of the hit show. Guests can chill in Monica’s apartment, relax in the Central Perk coffeehouse, and kick back, literally, in Chandler and Joey’s black lazy boy recliners. And, in true homage to Sin City, Friends fans can reenact Ross and Rachel’s iconic wedding scene and bust through the wedding chapel doors.  

“Las Vegas is the perfect destination to debut The Friends Experience’s second U.S. flagship location,” Stacy Moscatelli, CEO of Original X Productions, a company known for its immersive experiences, said in a statement. “Not only does the city attract millions of Friends fans every year, but Las Vegas plays an integral role in the series featuring some of the show’s most iconic and hilarious moments.”

In addition to the nostalgia-packed sets, fans will get a behind-the-scenes peek into the show’s production and be able to view props and costumes. 

In the five years since it launched, "The Friends Experience" has traveled to 24 cities checking off eight countries along the way. Its first permanent location was in New York City , where the series was set, with Las Vegas and London getting their own anchored activations. 

Calling Friends “nothing short of phenomenal,” Peter van Roden, senior vice president of Warner Bros. Discovery Global Themed Entertainment, said in a statement: “We’ve seen fans from all over the world embrace the chance to relive their favorite moments and connect with the show in a whole new way. With Las Vegas premiering as the West Coast flagship, there’s even more to look forward to as we continue celebrating the 30th anniversary of Friends .”

The all-ages activation opens later this year at MGM Grand — a property with its own ties to Hollywood. The resort was once home to a Wizard of Oz attraction and the MGM Grand Adventures Theme Park, a mini version of Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Universal Studios that lasted from 1993 to 2002.

Pixar's new movie Inside Out 2 revisits the internal life of Riley, as she hits puberty and copes with a growing range of emotions.

Pixar's new movie, Inside Out 2 came out Friday. It's the sequel to the 2015 movie Inside Out , which followed 11-year-old Riley and her family as they move to San Francisco. In the first movie, audiences meet Riley's core emotions – Joy, Sadness, Fear, Disgust and Anger. They live in Headquarters, the place in Riley's mind from which they operate her emotions.

In Inside Out 2, Riley is 13 and thriving in her new city. She has friends and is a star on her hockey team. But when puberty hits one night, four new emotions shake up Riley's core emotions: Envy, Ennui, Embarrassment and, most of all, Anxiety.

'inside out 2' is a pixar sequel worth celebrating.

Clinical psychologist and Inside Out 2 consultant Lisa Damour says the movie is surprisingly accurate when it comes to experiencing anxiety and puberty.

Particularly, Damour notes that, as in the film, clinicians see anxiety as an important member of the larger team of emotions.

"As psychologists, we see anxiety as an important, valuable protective and natural human emotion," she says. "We only see anxiety as pathological if it's, you know, anticipating threats that aren't real or overreacting to potential problems."

Spoiler alert: In the film, Anxiety's plans do culminate in Riley having a panic attack. Damour notes that this scene was also pretty accurately depicted in the film — as an overwhelming experience that causes Riley to hyperventilate and disconnect from herself and the outside world.

Feeling anxious? Try smiling or doing a good deed to snap out of it

Part of what helps Riley overcome her panic attack is touching her hockey stick. Damour says that doing this — touching something — is what's known as a grounding technique. It's a real tool that therapists teach to their patients to help them manage their anxiety in these particularly intense moments.

But it's not the only tool available.

Damour also notes that people use cognitive interventions to bring their anxieties into a more manageable realm. That can involve reframing negative thoughts and helping people regain their agency.

And in the end, she says, it's key to remember that anxiety is normal. "Our goal is not to rid people of anxiety. Our goal is to help people manage anxiety if it gets to an irrational level," she says.

Barcelona's La Boqueria market bans rowdy pre-wedding parties

Rowdy bachelor and bachelorette revellers are getting the boot from one of Spain’s premier attractions. Officials in Barcelona have barred hen and stag night parties from the city’s La Boqueria market over tourism concerns. Wardens will patrol the market, beginning in the summer, to stop tourists from posing for selfies outside food stalls in the bustling venue located on La Rambla in the heart of the city. They will be empowered to move on visitors who are blocking access for customers. Anyone “touching (food), out of curiosity or taking a photograph” in violation of food safety rules will also be barred. Running through the covered market, or whizzing down the aisles in an electric scooter or bicycle, are similarly off-limits under the new measures. It follows mounting protests across Spain over the influx of vacationers that locals say is behind a huge rise in rental costs and a decline in the quality of life. A total of 20 million visitors came to La Boqueria last year, according to the market’s trading association — and the numbers have been steadily rising. Stallholders have complained, to Barcelona city councillors, they must fight their way through hordes of visitors to get to work — only to find tourists are interested not in buying their wares but taking holiday snaps. Jordi Valls, in charge of tourism for the city council, said Barcelona is at its “limit” for accommodating visitors. “Tourism is a source of wealth but it does not bring value when it goes over a certain limit. We cannot control demand because it is unstoppable, but we can control supply,” said Valls. La Boqueria has become so popular that it is no longer a pleasant place to visit, he maintained.

In a video posted to social media, Rajah said the family had attended the celebrations during a six-day vacation in Phuket and thought the toys would make ideal mementoes for the kids. But as they left customs at Changi Airport, border officials ordered a secondary scan. “They opened up all our bags looking for the toy water guns,” Rajah said, adding her husband was detained for about an hour and saw several people bringing back similar toys. She told AsiaOne network: “An officer told him that they had stopped so many people and families that week who came back from Thailand with water guns because of the water festival. “We explained repeatedly that these were plastic toys and not real guns. The officers’ response was, ‘They can be modified.’” Her husband was eventually released — but not before signing a document confirming he had brought controlled items into the country. Rajah said she posted about the incident to warn others who may not be aware of the laws surrounding toy firearms. “I wish someone had told me this beforehand — it would have saved us a lot of time and upset children,” she wrote on Instagram. According to immigration officials in Singapore, toy or replica guns are deemed controlled items and require an import licence or authorization from the city-state’s police force.

It's been a busy evening in the Politics Hub.

We've had the prime minister enduring shouts of "shame" during a special edition of the BBC's Question Time, which also saw Sir Keir Starmer, John Swinney and Sir Ed Davey face audience questions.

Here are the main things you need to know this evening:

• Rishi Sunak  faced shouts of "shame" when he attacked the European Convention on Human Rights as a "foreign court";
• The prime minister said he was "incredibly angry" about allegations of betting on the date of the election ;
• Sir Keir Starmer  said he was "genuinely worried" about right-wing tendencies across Europe;
• Lib Dem leader Sir Ed Davey confessed he was "not proud" of some of the things the party did during its time in coalition with the Conservatives;
• And the SNP's John Swinney admitted he may have contributed to a politics of polarisation but said he will keep pursuing independence.
• Before all of that, the Greens co-leader Adrian Ramsay  told Sophy Ridge  he rejected comparisons with Liz Truss for proposing to borrow COVID levels of money to fund his party's manifesto;
• But back to the betting scandal engulfing the Conservative party...
• Laura Saunders, the Tory candidate  facing a probe over allegedly betting on the timing of the election, has said she "will be cooperating with the Gambling Commission" investigation but is "considering legal action";
• Ms Saunders is married to  Tony Lee  - the Conservative director of campaigns - with reports that he as well faces a probe after going on leave from CCHQ;
• The Gambling Commission has said it's considering launching an investigation into a " small number of people" ;
• Sky News understands more names are set to emerge  - this graph shows a huge surge in bets placed on the day before Mr Sunak made his announcement:
• Elsewhere, Northern Ireland's Alliance Party has published its general election manifesto , featuring reform of Stormont's devolved structures as a key objective;
• And the Scottish Greens have launched their manifesto too , outlining plans for a wealth tax on the richest people in the UK.

A Conservative attack ad featuring Sadiq Khan has been pulled from the party's platforms after just one day.

The advert, which ran across the Meta sites Facebook and Instagram, said: "Sadiq Khan wants to divide us", while warning voters "don't let Sadiq Khan win again".

It encouraged voters to vote for them and not Reform. It ran for one day on 19 June.

Mr Khan ran for mayor of London back in May, clinching a historic third term by a comfortable 276,000 votes over Tory rival Susan Hall. He is not running for election again on 4 July.

Sky News reached out to the Conservatives to ask why they were running an attack ad against Mr Khan - and why it had been taken down - they did not respond with a comment.

It comes as an exclusive poll for Sky News and YouGov shows the Conservative party is on track for a near wipeout, with Labour predicted to take 425 seats - including almost all in London. Reform are projected to return five MPs.

The online advert was viewed by up to 35,000 accounts, and cost the party up to £499 to run. The largest audience for it was over 45s.

Rishi Sunak suddenly becomes animated when he's asked why he called the election for 4 July (see previous post). 

He defends his campaign against Liz Truss and claims Labour's plans would be as damaging as hers.

We're getting some raw politics now from the PM with the inevitable tax attack on Labour. Apart from his tough words on Tory betting, it's the most punchy he's been in his half hour.

He's also punchy with a young questioner who says leaving the European Convention on Human Rights would be inhumane.

But he's unconvincing when Fiona Bruce asks why he calls the European court a "foreign court" when it was set up by countries including Britain and has a British judge.

And it gets worse. The audience shouts "shame!" when he attacks the "foreign court" again. 

That sort of talk may play well with Tory activists and voters flirting with Reform UK, but it went down very badly here.

It was a bad ending for the PM at the end of his half-hour and the two-hour election programme.

The prime minster says he called the election early because he felt he had delivered economic stability to the country.

Pressed on whether he is glad he called the election when he did, Mr Sunak says "it was the right moment" and he is glad.

In an attack on his predecessor, he claims what Sir Keir Starmer is promising "is the same fantasy that Liz Truss did".

After his strong answer on the betting scandal, surprisingly Rishi Sunak struggles to answer Fiona Bruce's persistent questions on his national service proposals. 

You'd think he'd have better prepared answers on a flagship election policy.

He’s also very dismissive of an audience member who says Brexit has been a disaster for young people. 

Sounding irritated, he says those arguments were debated in 2016, and he's not going to over them again.

"I come from an NHS family," Mr Sunak then tells a questioner about NHS waiting lists. 

Really? Never knew that. (At least we didn’t get "my father was a toolmaker" from Sir Keir this time.)

Like Sir Keir, Mr Sunak is facing detailed questions about issues like the NHS. More detail! 

And surprisingly he hasn't attacked Labour on tax – yet!

He'll be pleased, though, that he was asked early on about the Tory betting scandal. He had a strong answer on that that will make headlines. 

Not sure much else from Mr Sunak will, so far.

Mr Sunak has avoided engaging with criticism of the Tory's national service policy, suggesting it would be "politicising the armed forces during an election campaign".

Asked about comments from Lord West of Spithead, a former chief of the naval staff and Labour peer who reportedly called the policy "bonkers", the prime minister says: "Well it wouldn't be appropriate to start politicising the armed forces during an election campaign."

Mr Sunak insisted the military route was optional, despite the proposed national service scheme being compulsory.

But when asked what sanctions people could face for not taking part, Mr Sunak gave "access to finance" among other examples.

Asked if this meant taking away people's bank cards, he laughs and says: "There's lot of different models around Europe."

Mr Sunak is asked why Brexit has been mostly absent from the Conservatives' campaign so far.

"We had all these debates several years ago, I'm not going to relitigate them," the prime minister says.

"Our job now is to get on and make sure we realise all the benefits of that."

He gives the example of free ports as a benefit of Brexit and says it is how "we are attracting the investment and jobs".

He adds: "The choice of this election is about the future. We're not going to go back to Brexit. This is about the future…

"And actually, outside of the EU, we're able to do things that will drive more growth, create more jobs and allow me to cut more taxes."

The first two questions to Rishi Sunak are tough.

The first was about integrity in politics after the Tories' five prime ministers since 2010, the second about the betting scandal.

On betting, he says he's "incredibly angry" and if anyone has broken the law they should face the full force of the law. 

And he adds: "I will ensure they will be booted out of the Conservative Party." 

Tough talk. Let's see if it happens.

Rishi Sunak is challenged on the fact two Conservative Party candidates and the Conservatives' director of campaigning are being investigated by the Gambling Commission over allegations of betting on the timing of the election.

An audience member asks if this is "the absolute epitome of the lack of ethics that we have had to tolerate from the Conservative party for years and years"?

The prime minister says: "I was incredibly angry to learn of these allegations. It is a really serious matter."

He continues: "I want to be crystal clear that if anyone has broken the rules, they should face the full force of the law."

Quizzed over why the candidates have not been suspended while the investigations take place, Mr Sunak says: "All I can say is, they are serious investigations. It's right they are done thoroughly, confidentially."

He says if anyone has broken the rules, he will "make sure they are booted out of the Conservative Party".

Can I Opt Out of Meta’s A.I. Scraping on Instagram and Facebook? Sort Of.

Social media users voiced worries about a move by Meta to use information from public Instagram and Facebook posts to train its A.I. But the scraping has already begun. Here’s what to know.

Last month, Meta announced that it was going to expand its artificial intelligence services around the world, and the company let users in Europe know that it would use their public information to train its A.I. services starting on June 26.

The notifications sent to users of Facebook and Instagram in Europe, letting them know that their public posts could be used to train the A.I. services, including Meta’s chatbot, prompted privacy concerns and backlash as users wondered where the policy change would next be in effect.

But for those living in the United States, where online privacy laws are not as strict, Meta A.I. has already been using public posts to train its A.I. It’s unclear where else Meta might expand the program.

Privacy watchdogs have raised concerns about the data usage, and a lack of specifics about what Meta will do with people’s information. But Meta says it is complying with privacy laws, and that the information it is gathering will make services more relevant to the users in a given region.

Here’s what to know about Meta’s A.I. chatbot and how you can opt out of sharing your information.

Meta’s chatbot is its answer to ChatGPT.

Meta A.I. is a smart assistant software powered by artificial intelligence, available on apps including Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram — it can be used in feeds, chat and search. Similar to OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Apple’s Siri or Amazon’s Alexa, it is designed to respond to almost any prompt a user gives it.

For example, you might ask: Who’s the greatest tennis player of all time?

“The eternal debate!” Meta A.I. responded to that query. “While opinions may vary, many experts and fans consider Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic to be among the greatest tennis players of all time.”

Meta A.I. is powered by LLaMA 3, the company’s new and powerful large language model, an A.I. technology that can conduct conversations and create images.

The chatbot learns from Instagram and Facebook posts.

The announcement to European users sparked some backlash on Reddit, Tiktok and Twitter, including in the U.S., where Meta was not required to notify users — and therefore users may not have realized — that it had been training its A.I. with their public posts.

When asked, the smart assistant said it learned from “a massive data set of text” online. The information came from web pages, books, articles and research papers. But some of the data set also came from social media posts — including Facebook and Instagram posts, Meta A.I. said, adding that its training came from “anonymized and aggregated” data.

On a page about its generative A.I. features , Meta said photos and text from public posts on Instagram and Facebook were used to train its generative A.I. models, but that private posts and private messages were not used. Users’ prompts for the A.I. features are also fair game.

A spokesperson for Meta — and its chatbot — did not specify exactly how the public information was being used other than to “build and improve A.I. experiences.” It is not clear when Meta began to scrape data from users based in the U.S.

In the U.S., opt out by setting your account to private.

For Meta users in the U.S., there isn’t a way to stop Meta A.I. from learning from your public social media posts, as there are no privacy laws specific to this.

“While we don’t currently have an opt-out feature, we’ve built in-platform tools that allow people to delete their personal information from chats with Meta A.I. across our apps,” Meta said in a statement on Friday.

Those using Meta apps within the European Union, Britain, the European Economic Area and Switzerland were notified that they could opt out, according to Meta.

Here’s how to opt out (for those in Europe).

Visit the Meta Privacy Center from your Facebook account, click on “data settings” and then click “off-Facebook activity.” Then select “manage your data” and turn off “data sharing,” as well as “A.I. model training.”

In E.U. countries, users will also see “G.D.P.R. settings.” From there, users can click on “exercise my rights,” and submit a request to opt out. Users also must give a reason for opting out.

On Instagram, users can tap on “settings,” then “about,” and then “privacy policy,” which will lead to information on Meta A.I. and how to opt out.

Is it legal for Meta A.I. to use my data?

In Facebook’s legal terms , that company says that “if you share a photo on Facebook, you give us permission to store, copy, and share it with others.” Depending on your settings, that photo can be used for other Meta products, according to the company.

In Europe, even with the opt-out feature Meta introduced to comply with privacy laws, watchdog groups have raised concerns about the sweeping nature of the data usage.

The European Center for Digital Rights, known as NOYB (None of Your Business), filed complaints in several European countries about Meta’s policy change.

“Meta doesn’t say what it will use the data for, so it could either be a simple chatbot, extremely aggressive personalized advertising or even a killer drone,” Max Schrems, the chairman and founder of NOYB, said in a news release.
