The full Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour concert film is finally coming to streaming — with 4 bonus surprise songs

"Cardigan" and four songs from the acoustic set will be included in the "Taylor's Version" cut of the movie, which is heading to Disney+.

Just days after announcing her 11th studio album , The Tortured Poets Department , Taylor Swift has unveiled the long-awaited streaming plans for her blockbuster Eras Tour concert film .

Disney+ announced Wednesday that it will be the exclusive streaming home of Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (Taylor's Version) , a cut of the film that will present the concert in its entirety for the first time. The new version of the movie, which also includes the song "Cardigan" and four additional acoustic songs, will make its streaming debut March 15. Swift shared the news on social media shortly after Disney's announcement.

The Eras Tour film, directed by Sam Wrench, grossed more than $260 million at the global box office, making it the top selling concert film of all time.

In making the announcement, Disney CEO Bob Iger said, "The Eras Tour has been a true phenomenon that has and continues to thrill fans around the world, and we are very excited to bring this electrifying concert to audiences wherever they are, exclusively on Disney+."

The film debuted in theaters Oct. 13, and noticeably excluded five songs from the Eras Tour set list as it was performed in Los Angeles in August, when the film was shot: "No Body No Crime," "Wildest Dreams," "The Archer," "Cardigan" and "Long Live." When it later headed to VOD rentals on Swift's birthday on Dec. 13, a new version of the film featured the performances of "Wildest Dreams," "The Archer" and "Long Live" tacked on at the end, but not the other two songs.

Given that this new Taylor's Version of the film is being touted as being shown "in its entirety for the first time," it stands to reason that all the missing tracks will finally take their rightful place in the film, in addition to four additional acoustic songs. But since "No Body No Crime" is not explicitly mentioned and "Cardigan" is, it would appear "NBNC"will likely be the only song to not make the cut, presumably since it was a performance with Haim unique to only a small handful of Eras Tour dates, and the concert film is more inclusive of the tour as a whole.

As for the four new acoustic performances in the film, on each of the three nights the concert was filmed in L.A., Swift performed two different surprise songs during the acoustic set, meaning there were six different possibilities for the film in that section of the show. In the original theatrical and and VOD rental versions, only "You're On Your Own, Kid" and "Our Song" made the cut. That means that the remaining acoustic performances of "I Can See You," "Maroon," "You Are in Love," and "Death by a Thousand Cuts" will likely be in the film somewhere.

What canadians need to know about taylor swift's eras tour movie.

Taylor Swift’s Eras tour is coming to Canada in 2024, but if you can’t wait that long, Taylor’s got you covered. Announcing the news on her official Instagram this morning, the “Karma” singer announced the release of “TAYLOR SWIFT | THE ERAS TOUR” theatrical concert film experience, and it’s coming to Canadian cinemas in just a few weeks.

"The Eras Tour has been the most meaningful, electric experience of my life so far and I’m overjoyed to tell you that it’ll be coming to the big screen soon," the “Anti-Hero” crooner wrote on Instagram this morning. "Starting Oct 13th you’ll be able to experience the concert film in theaters in North America! Tickets are on sale now …. Eras attire, friendship bracelets, singing and dancing encouraged."

The trailer for the rockumentary shows Taylor on stage on different dates during the first leg of her tour, announcing that, “This has been the most extraordinary experience of my entire life!”

“We’re about to go on a little adventure together,” she exclaims on stage to her fans in the audience, “And that adventure is going to span 17 years of music!”

She then jokes about the people who mocked her for including all of her albums during the concert, quipping, “Yeah, it’s called the Era’s tour! See ya there!”

For all us Canadians who won’t be able to attend her Canadian concert dates in 2024, this rockumentary might be the next best thing. The press release states that “TAYLOR SWIFT | THE ERAS TOUR concert film will play on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays at Cineplex theatre locations across Canada. Tickets are available at Cineplex.com.”

But of course, this wouldn’t be a Taylor Swift event if there weren’t Easter eggs involved. Just like in all her music videos that we’ve covered over the years , Taylor has made the price of the movie tickets a little nugget for superfans.

And that nugget appears in the ticket price! For adults, the cost is – wait for it – $19.89. It’s perfect, it’s just too perfect. Especially considering that “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” is set to drop on October 27th. 

For seniors and for children, the price is $13.13. Over the years, the number 13 has been a recurring image associated with Taylor, with her even performing with the number written on her hand. She once explained its significance to her with, “I was born on the 13th, I turned 13 on Friday the 13th, my first album went gold in 13 weeks.”

And TAYLOR SWIFT | THE ERAS TOUR hits cinemas in Canada on Friday, October 13th.

It’s just too perfect!

"The Eras Tour has been the most meaningful, electric experience of my life so far and I’m overjoyed to tell you that it’ll be coming to the big screen soon," Swift wrote on Instagram announcing the film. She added, "Eras attire, friendship bracelets, singing and dancing encouraged." ( We have some Eras Tour movie attire suggestions right this way .)

Unlike Swift's previous concert films and documentaries—including the film of her Reputation Tour , her Netflix documentary Miss Americana, and Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions — the Eras Tour was not immediately released on a streaming platform. Instead, the pop star partnered exclusively with AMC theaters to release it.

On November 27, Swift announced on Instagram that the film will be available to rent on demand starting on her birthday, December 13. "Well, so, basically I have a birthday coming up and I was thinking a fun way to celebrate the year we’ve had together would be to make The Eras Tour Concert Film available for you to watch at home!" she wrote. "Very happy to be able to tell you that the extended version of the film including 'Wildest Dreams,' 'The Archer' and 'Long Live' will be available to rent on demand in the US, Canada & additional countries to be announced soon."

Next week, starting on March 14, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour will stream exclusively on Disney+, including five songs that weren't available in theaters or in the rental version. "For the first time we’ll be showing the entire concert (including 'cardigan', plus 4 additional songs from the acoustic section!!) and I’m calling it, huge shock, 'Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version),'" Swift posted on social media.

One adjustment Taylor Swift recently made to the Eras Tour setlist sadly reversed a change that was made to The Eras Tour movie when it hit Disney+. Less than three weeks after dropping her eleventh studio album, The Tortured Poets Department, on April 19, Taylor Swift resumed The Eras Tour in Paris, France, on May 9. Upon her return to the stage, Swift made several changes to the live show , including debuting a new outfit for each era except Reputation. Swift also rearranged the order of the eras and combined the Folklore and Evermore sets, which she considers "sister albums."

Folklore and Evermore were both surprise folk albums released less than five months apart in 2020.

The most notable change Swift made to her live show, though, was removing songs from the permanent setlist on the Eras Tour in order to make room in the three-and-a-half hour concert for her brand new TTPD set. Swift added seven songs from The Tortured Poets Department to the Eras Tour setlist and cut six songs total from four different eras. It's sad to lose any songs from the setlist, but the loss of one particular song hit the hardest because of the whirlwind it's been through since the tour began.

As of her Paris show, Taylor Swift officially added The Tortured Poets Department to her Eras Tour setlist, making fans wonder about a new movie cut.

"long live" initially didn't make the cut in the eras tour movie's theatrical release.

One of the six songs Swift cut from the Eras Tour setlist to make room for songs from The Tortured Poets Department is "Long Live" from Speak Now . When Swift first embarked on the Eras Tour in March 2023, "Long Live" wasn't initially included in the setlist at all. In fact, the Speak Now era originally only consisted of "Enchanted," making it the shortest era on the setlist. Swift added "Long Live" to the permanent setlist after Speak Now (Taylor's Version) was released on July 7, 2023, and has performed it at every show on the Eras Tour since.

It's particularly puzzling and heartbreaking that "Long Live" has been so neglected by Swift since it's an especially meaningful song for her fans.

However, "Long Live" got snubbed again when The Eras Tour movie was released in theaters on October 13, 2023. "Long Live" was one of the songs Swift cut from The Eras Tour movie to keep the runtime under three hours. Swift's performance of "Long Live" was later added as a bonus feature to the VOD release on December 13, along with "The Archer" and "Wildest Dreams." Finally, in March 2024, these three songs and "Cardigan" were edited into their proper placements in their respective eras in Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (Taylor's Version) movie on Disney+ .

There are some key differences between Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version) on Disney+ and the concert movie's theatrical release.

Now, despite the rollercoaster ride "Long Live" has already been on, Swift has discarded it once again. It's particularly puzzling and heartbreaking that "Long Live" has been so neglected by Swift since it's an especially meaningful song for her fans. Swift wrote "Long Live" as a love letter to her bandmates and fans to celebrate and express gratitude for the strides they'd made together. That's why it was so exciting for Swifties when she added it to the setlist, but now that she's taken it off, it's like the heartbreak of The Eras Tour movie in theaters all over again.

A Speak Now-era song that was cut from the theatrical version returns in Disney+'s Eras Tour movie, but missed a chance to restore a different track.

What The Eras Tour Movie Songs Are Now Missing From Taylor Swift's Live Setlist

Swift cut five songs from the setlist that were featured in the eras tour movie, & one that never was.

To free up space for the TTPD era, Swift removed six songs (including "Long Live") from the existing Eras Tour setlist , five of which were featured in The Eras Tour movie on Disney+. The first song to leave the setlist was "The Archer" from Lover . Like "Long Live," "The Archer" was also cut from The Eras Tour movie in theaters but was later restored on VOD and streaming. The other three songs in The Eras Tour (Taylor's Version) movie now missing from the setlist are "tolerate it" from Evermore , and "the 1" and "the last great american dynasty" from Folklore .

The only song Swift removed from the permanent setlist that was absent from all three versions of The Eras Tour movie is "'tis the damn season" from Evermore.

Taylor Swift has released 11 albums (and re-recorded four) over the course of her 18-year career, some of which are better than others.

Taylor Swift made some changes to her mammoth Eras Tour show in La Défense Arena to usher in her 11th studio album "The Tortured Poets Department."

The new era introduced seven additional songs as well as the track "loml" during the surprise portion of the show. With the introductions meant the downfall for six songs from last year's set list.

The "Fearless," "Red," "Reputation," "1989" and "Midnights" sets remained intact throughout the performance. Swift gave a preview of the songs cut from her show in the first release of her Eras Tour movie but unlike in the film "Cardigan" and "Wildest Dreams" survived the chopping block.

The European leg of the Eras Tour is finally here. After a two-month hiatus, Taylor Swift is refreshing her setlist following the release of The Tortured Poets Department. Read on for the updated setlist for the Eras Tour (so far) in Paris .

On May 9, Swift performed her first of four shows in Paris to kick off the European leg of her high-grossing tour. Throughout the three-hour set, Swifties took note of various changes to the performance, including new glittery outfits and the addition of tracks from her latest album, TTPD .

The most notable change of the night was when Swift added seven tracks from her latest album to her setlist. This included abbreviated renditions of "But Daddy I Love Him," "Who's Afraid Of Little Old Me?", "Fortnight," "The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived," and "I Can Do It With A Broken Heart," along with samples from "So High School" and "Down Bad."

Unfortunately, Swift had to trim some tracks from her lengthy set to make room for the new songs. Songs that were dropped include “The Archer,” “The Last Great American Dynasty,” “The 1,” “’Tis the Damn Season,” and “Tolerate It.”

Additionally, she merged the Folklore and evermore eras together. “On The Eras Tour we have now reunited the sisters!” she told the audience. “You can call it Folklore , Evermore or you can call it the sister albums!”

Also, when the singer enters her Speak Now era, there is a new transition with florals on the screen while her dancers perform a new routine before she sings “Enchanted” (which was previously “Long Live,” which she added mid-tour last year).

Photos from Taylor Swift's Eras Tour Paris show reveal new Tortured Poets Department outfits

Taylor Swift's two-year world tour has resumed after the release of her new album Tortured Poets Department, with the European leg kicking off in Paris. 

Swift's Eras Tour began in March last year, with dozens and dozens of shows since then. 

Given it has been going on for so long, fans have compiled comprehensive information about set list and costumes for the tour.

There are slight variations at her shows, with some slots in her set list for what fans have dubbed "surprise songs".

And she's worn various iterations of the same costume. 

However, generally speaking, the shows have been pretty much the same each time.  

But, because this was her first show since Tortured Poets Department, there was much speculation about how different it would be from previous shows . 

So there was a lot of focus on Thursday night's show in the La Defense Arena in the French capital. 

New outfits 

Swift wore a white dress with lyrics to Tortured Poets Department songs on it, with the structured fabric looking like pages of paper. 

She incorporated an on-stage costume change into her act.

Swift took off the white dress to reveal a sparkly black two-piece, throwing a gold jacket over the top. 

We'd not seen that on stage before. 

But there were also changes to regular costumes — including the colours in the Lover bodysuit and the slogan on the T-shirt she wears while singing the song 22. 

Previous iterations of that shirt had said "WHO'S TAYLOR SWIFT ANYWAY? EW." and "WE ARE NEVER GETTING BACK TOGETHER LIKE EVER". 

New set list

We didn't have an ABC reporter on the ground in Paris to compare the set list to her Australian shows. 

So for news on this front we went to a social media account run by an anonymous Taylor Swift fan for updates. 

That may sound fraught, but @tswifterastour has become the authoritative — albeit unofficial — voice on all things Eras Tour, with more than half a million followers. ( Cosmopolitan did a great interview with the person behind this account, if you're interested .)

It's the account behind that "seemingly ranch" tweet that went viral last year, if that means anything to you.

Then we cross-referenced that with a report from the BBC .

And with new songs came new dance numbers and props.
