Where can I find the best Bahamasn cruise deals?

The price of cruise tickets to Bahamas varies, but you can find fantastic Bahamasn cruise deals on Expedia that are tailored to your travel wants and needs. Cruise season in Bahamas typically runs from November to early May, so the cruise to Bahamas price may be higher during this time. The destination points and lengths of cruises may also vary during this time. What to look out for when you book your Bahamasn cruise?

It’s important to know where you’d like to go on your cruise trip as itineraries vary. Bahamasn cruise destinations include – but are not limited to – Argentina , Brazil , Chile , Peru , and Uruguay . The location of the cruise terminal will also be important as travel to and from the terminal is not included in the total price of your cruise booking. Since Bahamas is such a large continent, some cruise itineraries will have you start and end your cruise trip in different countries. This means you may need to fly from an airport that’s different from the one you flew into.

How to book a cruise to Bahamas on Expedia?

Expedia makes the entire booking process as seamless as possible. That way you can focus on the important stuff, like getting excited about your upcoming cruise trip. Once you are on the ‘Cruises’ page, you can select the ‘Bahamas’ option in the search bar and browse by date, duration, price, cruise terminal, cabin experience, and cruise line. While there are many excellent cruise line options, the best cruise lines in Bahamas include Norwegian Star , Costa Favolosa , and MSC Cruises . Once you’ve selected your desired cruise, you can book your dream cruise vacation and get ready for the experience of a lifetime.

All valid deals will automatically be applied to the visible cost so you can be confident you are getting the best cruise deals. Last-minute cruise deals may vary by season but can offer an exciting opportunity to explore new destinations at a discount.

Do you need a passport to cruise to Bahamas?

Yes, passports are required for cruises that go to Bahamas. While departure ports and cruise destinations vary, US citizens are required to have a valid passport when entering each country in Bahamas. US passport holders don’t need a tourist visa if their stay in each country is less than 90 days. While it is possible to embark on a closed-loop cruise to Bahamas, US citizens will still need a valid passport to enter countries throughout Bahamas.

Can I cancel my Bahamas cruise booking?

You can cancel your Bahamasn cruise via the ‘Trips’ tab on Expedia. Alternatively, you can contact customer service and they can help cancel your cruise trip for you. Cancellation and refund policies will vary based on your cruise booking, as well as when you cancel your cruise trip. If you cancel your trip further in advance, you're more likely to receive a better refund.

Why should I book a cruise to Bahamas with Expedia?

When booking an eligible cruise as a One Key TM member, you will earn OneKeyCash TM .

What are the best things to do on a Bahamasn cruise?

Embarking on a boat cruise to Bahamas is a unique experience that you’ll want to make the most of—both onboard and offboard. Exploring the cruise ship, tasting meals from various dining options, utilizing available amenities, and engaging in organized activities are several of the many ways you can enjoy your time onboard to the fullest. Offboard, you’ll be able to immerse yourself in the local culture by trying the best foods, learning their traditions, and visiting cultural and historical sites.

What should I pack for my Bahamas cruise?

The weather in Bahamas varies by country and the time of year. Countries below the equator experience warmer weather starting in December while countries above the equator experience warmer weather in the mid- to late-spring months. So, your packing list will depend on when and where you go on your cruise trip to Bahamas. Regardless of the season or temperature, it’s generally advised to pack comfortable clothes, durable walking shoes, sunscreen, bug spray, and a portable charger.

Unlocking the Price Secrets: How Much Is a Cruise to the Bahamas?

Ahoy, travelers! One of the most frequently asked questions that pop up when planning a trip to this island paradise is, “How much is a cruise to the Bahamas?” It’s a question with answers as varied as the stunning islands themselves. From budget-friendly short cruises to luxurious week-long voyages, the cost can range widely. Let’s set sail into the details to find the ideal cruise that suits your wallet and whimsy!

Short and Sweet: Pricing and Perks of Shorter Cruises

When time is of the essence, and you’re looking to dip your toes into the cruise experience or just need a quick getaway, shorter cruises are your go-to option. Typically lasting three to four days , these cruises offer a taste of the Bahamas’ bliss without a hefty price tag. Online deals can often have you discovering the delights of Nassau or basking on the beaches of Bimini for under $100 !

Cruise lines like Carnival and Celebrity offer three-night cruises with base prices starting as low as $149 and $179 respectively, making them a hit among travelers looking for affordable options. MSC Cruises provides an even more wallet-friendly four-night cruise starting at just $129! These shorter journeys often pack a punch with vibrant nightlife, scrumptious dining, and, of course, picturesque cruise destinations.

It’s not just about the destination; it’s also about the journey. Short cruises come with a plethora of amenities. Whether it’s indulging in specialty restaurants, partaking in onboard recreational activities, or unwinding in the spa after a day of exploring, the options are endless. And let’s not forget the plethora of onboard entertainment; from lively music to captivating performances, every moment on board is a celebration.

However, remember that the base price is just the tip of the iceberg. It’s vital to consider additional costs like taxes, port fees, gratuities, and any personal expenditures on and off the ship, such as shore excursions and specialty dining, which can quickly add up. For instance, a cruise fare of $149 can balloon to $278 per person once taxes and fees are factored in. Therefore, planning your budget effectively is key to enjoying a hassle-free trip.

Long and Luxurious: Diving Into the Details of Week-Long Cruises

For those yearning for a more extensive exploration of what the Bahamas have to offer, week-long cruises are your passport to paradise. These voyages allow you to discover multiple islands, delve deeper into the local culture, and enjoy a more relaxed pace. Prices for these longer cruises can vary, with options available for different budgets. For example, a six-night cruise with Carnival starts at $644 , while a seven-night voyage with MSC Cruises is a steal at $399! However, if you’re considering a 3-month cruise , be prepared for a significantly higher cost due to the extended duration and more comprehensive itinerary.

Longer cruises often come with more diverse itineraries, visiting places like Half Moon Cay, Freeport, and Ocean Cay, letting travelers experience the varied landscapes and lifestyles of the Bahamas. They also open the doors to a world of exclusive private isles and pristine beaches, where the sun kisses the ocean, and time seems to stand still. The visit to such exotic places as the Orange Bowl Reef lets you witness the vibrant underwater life, making every moment of the journey memorable.

bahamas week long cruise

While the luxurious cabins and the tallest waterslide on the ship might beckon, it’s essential to be mindful of the peak times, as prices can skyrocket into five digits during these periods. Keep an eye out for Bahamas cruise deals, and remember to factor in the extra expenses such as port expenses, specialty restaurant costs, and any onboard recreation. Joining a cruise line’s loyalty program can also lead to cabin upgrades, discounts, and other perks, making your longer cruise more enjoyable without breaking the bank.

So, whether you are leaning towards a shorter, action-packed cruise or a longer, immersive experience, understanding the varied prices, destinations, and amenities offered can help you tailor your Bahamas cruise to your desires and budget. Here’s to smooth sailing and finding your perfect slice of Bahamian paradise!

Beyond the Base Price: Taxes, Port Fees, and Gratuities

Embarking on a Bahamas cruise requires effective budget planning to ensure a smooth and delightful experience. From understanding the hidden costs to exploring exciting yet affordable onboard and offshore activities, we will guide you through it all.

For travelers eyeing a brief escape to the Bahamas, various cruise lines offer attractive deals. Let’s break it down:

  • Carnival : From Miami to Nassau, a 3-night journey is priced at $149 USD.
  • Celebrity : Traveling from Miami to Nassau and Bimini, the 3-night cruise comes at $179 USD.
  • MSC Cruises : Starting from Port Canaveral to Nassau, a 4-night stay is available for $129 USD.
  • Royal Caribbean : A 3-night adventure from Port Canaveral to CocoCay costs $289 USD.

On average, for a Bahamas cruise lasting less than a week, you’d be looking at a base price of approximately $186.50 USD.

Taxes and Port Fees can sometimes rival the cruise fare itself. Taking the example of the Carnival cruise with a base price of $149 USD, the taxes and port fees amount to $129.20 per person. This pushes the starting price of the cruise to $278 USD per person.

Gratuities form an essential part of the earnings for many cruise staff members. While some cruise lines may incorporate gratuities into the fare, many don’t. Standard gratuity rates serve as guidelines. For instance, Carnival suggests $14.50 per person, per day for standard cabins, and $16.50 per person, per day for suites. On a three-day cruise for two people in a standard cabin, that’s $87 USD just for gratuities for the stateroom attendant. Remember, this doesn’t cover tips for bars or dining.

For a comprehensive understanding, if we combine the base cost, taxes, and gratuities for the Carnival example, it amounts to $321.50 USD per person for a three-day cruise (or $643 USD total for a couple).

To ensure a stress-free experience, travelers should set aside an additional 30-40% of the base cruise price to comfortably cover taxes, port fees, and gratuities. For an average cruise price of $186.50, budgeting an extra $56 to $74.60 USD per person would be wise.

When planning your cruise to the Bahamas, it’s crucial to look beyond the base price advertised by cruise lines. Additional expenses like taxes, port fees, and gratuities can significantly impact your overall budget. Understanding these hidden costs is key to avoiding surprises and ensuring your Bahamas cruise is as relaxing as the gentle Caribbean breeze.

Embark on a culinary journey as you sail to the Bahamas, exploring a range of specialty restaurants that offer unique flavors and gourmet experiences. From sumptuous Italian delicacies to exotic Asian cuisines, these restaurants cater to varied palates, with prices ranging from around $7 to over $100 for more extravagant options.

The average cost per person, excluding gratuity and alcoholic drinks, typically falls between $30-50. Navigate through the diverse dining options available across cruise lines like MSC Cruises and Carnival, understand the costs involved, and indulge in a gastronomic adventure amidst the crystal-clear waters of the Bahamas.

Beverage Options & Securing the Best Package Deals on Your Cruise

Refreshment is key on your cruise to the Bahamas, and with a plethora of beverage options, staying hydrated is a delightful affair. Basic beverages are included, but specialty coffees and most alcoholic drinks come with a charge.

Be mindful of the limits on bringing your own beverages on board to avoid corkage fees or leaving your favorites at the port. Selecting the right beverage plan enhances your sun-soaked Bahamian voyage, allowing every sip to be a refreshing experience. f you’re sailing with MSC, be sure to explore their drink packages , which can be a convenient way to enjoy your favorite beverages without breaking the bank.

A beverage package does come at a higher cost, but if you intend to have more than 5-6 drinks each day, it can save you some money. Most beverage packages offer drinks at a discounted rate and it can make quite a difference. Whether you prefer paying per drink or opting for a package, assessing your consumption habits ensures you find the most cost-effective option.

Exploring Cabin Choices & Benefiting From Loyalty Programs

Enhance your cruise experience by selecting the ideal cabin and maximizing benefits through loyalty programs. Delve into the range of available cabin types and learn how to leverage loyalty perks for a smoother, more rewarding Bahamas cruise experience.

Cabin Choices on a Bahama Cruise

Cabin Options & Enjoying Exclusive Amenities on Your Bahamas Escape

Choosing the right cabin is pivotal to optimizing your cruise experience, offering you a peaceful retreat and possibly stunning ocean views. Understanding the various cabin categories and their amenities, from basic to lavish, is essential regardless of whether you’re on a short Carnival cruise or a longer journey with MSC Cruises.

Evaluating the cabin types, their associated costs, and the benefits they offer ensures a serene and luxurious journey through the sparkling waters of the Bahamas, adding comfort to your adventure.

Utilizing Loyalty Programs and Credit Cards for Optimal Benefits & Savings

Navigating through loyalty programs and cruise credit cards can yield substantial benefits, including exclusive perks and significant savings on your Bahamas cruise. Every cruise line offers unique programs, providing benefits such as cabin upgrades and exclusive amenities.

Leveraging these rewards effectively allows you to enjoy the breathtaking Bahamian landscapes without fretting over expenses, ensuring every moment aboard is a rewarding experience in paradise.

Utilise Loyalty Programs to save cost on bahamas cruise

When planning your cruise, consider the hidden extras like taxes, port fees, and onboard recreational activities. For example, a seemingly affordable $149 cruise fare can escalate to $278 per person when taxes and fees, sometimes matching or exceeding the cruise fare itself, are factored in. Being aware of and planning for these additional expenses ensures a smoother, surprise-free disembarkation.

Embarking on Bahamas cruises offers a tantalizing escape to a world of sun, sand, and sea. However, the key to a seamless vacation lies in meticulous planning. From choosing the perfect cruise company to understanding the varying costs, every detail impacts your experience. Most cruise lines provide a range of options, but selecting the right departure ports, such as Port Canaveral or Miami, and considering factors like double occupancy and hurricane season, is crucial.

Whether you dream of snorkeling in crystal-clear waters or enjoying a perfect day on a sun-kissed beach, being mindful of additional costs like fuel supplements and the best time to visit ensures a hassle-free journey. Remember, every choice, from your inside cabin to the week-long cruise, contributes to creating unforgettable memories in the breathtaking Bahamas.

How much does a 7 day cruise cost per person?

The cost for a 7-day cruise can significantly vary depending on factors like the cruise line, cabin type, and time of year. On average, one can find options ranging from around $400 to upwards of $1000 per person. For instance, MSC Cruises offers a 7-night trip for as low as $399, whereas some luxury options can go well into the thousands.

How much does it cost for a 7 day Caribbean cruise?

A 7-day Caribbean cruise, much like others, experiences fluctuations in pricing based on several elements including the cruise line and season. Generally, prices might start around $500 per person for mainstream lines and can go upwards for luxury lines. Keep in mind; that this is the base price, usually including meals, accommodation, and onboard activities.

How much money should I take on a cruise to the Bahamas?

When cruising to the Bahamas, it’s sensible to plan for extra expenses beyond the base cruise fare. This includes shore excursions, specialty dining, beverages, and potential onboard activities. A reasonable budget could range from $100 to $200 per day, per person, depending on personal preferences and spending habits. It is also wise to consider unplanned expenses and have a contingency fund.

How much is a cruise for 1 person?

Shorter cruises can be found for under $100 per person, while luxe cabins on longer cruises can be in the five digits at peak times. It is crucial to consider the additional costs such as gratuities, port fees, taxes, excursions, specialty dining, and beverages, which are usually not included in the base price.

Find the best cruise for you

Featured cruise deals, cruising guide, why take a cruise vacation.

If you have a place on your bucket list, chances are, a cruise will get you there – provided the destination is along a coastline or inland waterway. Cruises cover the world, taking millions of passengers each year to regions such as the Caribbean, the Bahamas, Alaska, Europe, the Mediterranean and even Antarctica. Cruising offers a tremendous value, with trips that include your lodging, meals and entertainment – all rolled into one. Some luxury cruise lines even offer fully inclusive vacations, which cover drinks and tours ashore. And best of all, cruising means seeing the world conveniently after unpacking only once.

Cruises also provide a wonderful option for families, with many ships offering things like waterslides, mini-golf courses and fun clubs for kids, tweens and teens. While most are free, nursery programs can cost extra. Planning is easy: Pick your destination and the right ship (and line) for your travel style. The cruise line makes it simple, offering packages to help you save on extras like alcohol, shore tours or even airfare.

Travelers say they choose to cruise because cruising often costs less per night when compared with land vacations at a hotel, where they'll have to book -- and pay for -- every extra.

What are Tips for Finding Cheap Cruises?

If you're a flexible traveler, you'll have a better chance of finding cheap cruises. Take a cruise that doesn't sail over the summer or holidays, when prices are highest. Book an inside cabin, or take your chances with a "guarantee cabin," ideal for passengers who aren't picky about their stateroom location but really want the lowest price available. Book cabins on lower decks, which often come with lower prices than those rooms on higher floors – that is staterooms over suites.

Cruise brands such as Carnival Cruise Line, MSC Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line and Royal Caribbean International offer rates that might drop as low as $75 per person per night -- and sometimes even lower.

If you want a real bargain, consider a transatlantic or repositioning cruise. These cruises are one-way or open-jaw trips, that start in one port and finish at another. You can score a deal sailing from Florida to Europe, for example, or even from New York to Florida. Just be aware, you'll probably have to pay a bit more for airfare to return.

What are Tips to Finding Last-Minute Cruise Deals?

While being flexible date wise will always get you the best last-minute cruise deals, it's particularly helpful if you live near a cruise port and can quickly drive there. That way you'll probably be able to jump on those deals that might pop up just a week or two before the ship is scheduled to sail.

Or if you don't have flexibility with either departure dates or embarkation locations, be willing to compromise on exact destinations. This will allow you to find a wider range of last-minute deals traveling to locations in their off-season or so-called shoulder season.

Do plenty of research and know what your ideal cruise is and costs on average, so both are already on your radar. When you see it drop, pounce! (Many cruise lines update pricing several times per day, so preparation is crucial.)

Best cruises in 2024

There's truly a cruise style and ship for everyone, and that has never been more the case than in 2024, as vessels continue to come in an array of sizes – from riverboats and expedition vessels to the largest-ever mega ships. And it's not an exaggeration to say some are loaded with so many activities that you couldn't possibly enjoy them all in a single sailing.

Families will find plenty of options and activities onboard big ships, which have transformed cruising, making the vessels as exciting as the destinations themselves. The Caribbean is always a great option for families, offering lots of sunshine, great beaches and culture. Alaska, famous for its incredible vistas and abundant wildlife, is also a solid family cruise option. Consider cruise brands such as Carnival Cruise Line, Princess Cruises, Royal Caribbean International, Norwegian Cruise Line, Disney Cruise Line, MSC Cruises and even Celebrity Cruises and Holland America Line for a great multi-generational voyage.

Or on the smaller side, by comparison, river cruising remains a hot ticket item this year, with exciting routes that send eager guests down the Danube or Rhine rivers in Europe or to lesser-frequented locations, like the Mekong River in Cambodia or Vietnam, or soon the Magdalena River in Colombia. Popular river cruises embark in timeless cities like Amsterdam, Budapest and Lisbon. River cruise lines to consider encompass Viking, AmaWaterways, Avalon Waterways, Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours, Emerald Cruises, Tauck, Uniworld Boutique River Cruises and Riverside Luxury Cruises, as well as American Cruise Lines for a domestic alternative.

If you're an adventurer at heart, an expedition cruise might be best for you. These voyages, often onboard small ships (only a few hundred passengers tops), offer an intimate experience that brings passengers right up next to glaciers, whales, penguins and iguanas. Ships visit tiny spots all over the world – from pole to pole – including the Arctic, Alaska, Australia, Greenland, the Galapagos and, of course, Antarctica. Passengers will spend their time zodiacing, kayaking, hiking, biking and exploring with expert guides and knowledgeable naturalists. Expedition travelers love cruise lines such as Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic, UnCruise Adventures, Silversea, HX (formerly Hurtigruten Expeditions), Ponant and Quark Expeditions, as well as an ever-expanding list that now even extends to Seabourn and Viking.

But for the most decadent form of travel, luxury cruises offer all-inclusive experiences onboard small to median-sized ships (usually under a thousand passengers) with perks like butlers, high-end amenities and personalized, intuitive service, not to mention the finest dining at sea. Ships often feature luxury touches like marble and crystal decor, intimate spaces and beautiful spas. Because luxury ships tend to be on the smaller size, they can often reach off-the-beaten-path destinations bigger ships simply cannot access -- ports like St. Tropez or Guadeloupe. If you're looking for a luxury cruise, consider Crystal, Seabourn, Regent Seven Seas Cruises, Silversea, Explora Journeys, Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours, The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection and upcoming Four Seasons Yachts.

About Disney Cruises in Bahamas

Before we compare Disney cruise prices, I’ll quickly summarize key things to know about the Disney cruise in Bahamas. Here we cover: your sailing options, your cruise itinerary, and your Disney cruise ship.

Atlantis Nassau, Disney cruise to Bahamas

WHEN Do Disney Cruises Go to Bahamas?

You can take a Disney cruise in Bahamas year-round.

Every calendar year, you have many sailing options for a Disney cruise in Bahamas:

  • 3-night Bahamian Cruise from MIAMI: 2 sailings (May and Dec 2021) on the Disney Magic cruise ship. Stops include Key West (1 of 2) and Disney Castaway Cay island.
  • 3-night Bahamian Cruise from PORT CANAVERAL: 57 sailings (Dec 2020, Jan-Dec 2021) on the Disney Dream cruise ship (2 on Disney Fantasy, in June and Nov 2021). Stops include Nassau (most) and Disney Castaway Cay island.
  • 4-night Bahamian Cruise from MIAMI: 13 sailings (Dec 2020, Jan-Apr and Nov-Dec 2021) on the Disney Magic cruise ship. Stops include Nassau or Key West (5 include both) and Disney Castaway Cay island.
  • 4-night Bahamian Cruise from PORT CANAVERAL: 57 sailings (Dec 2020, Jan-Dec 2021) on the Disney Dream cruise ship (2 on Disney Fantasy, in May and June 2021). Stops include Nassau and Disney Castaway Cay island.

  • 6-night Bahamian Cruise from GALVESTON: 4 sailings (Dec 2020, Nov 2021 and Dec 2021) on the Disney Wonder cruise ship. Stops include Key West and Disney Castaway Cay island.
  • 7-night Bahamian Cruise from GALVESTON: 1 sailing (Jan 2021) on the Disney Wonder cruise ship. Stops include Nassau, Key West and Disney Castaway Cay island.
  • 7-night Bahamian Cruise from NEW ORLEANS: 3 sailings (Feb 2021) on the Disney Wonder cruise ship. Stops include Nassau, Key West and Disney Castaway Cay island.

As you can see, Port Canaveral is by far the most common departure for a Disney cruise in Bahamas. You have a whopping 57 sailings for a 3-night cruise in Bahamas AND 57 sailings for a 4-night cruise in Bahamas. These are also your best options to cruise in Bahamas for cheap.

My analysis below focuses solely on the 3-night Disney cruise in Bahamas from Port Canaveral. I thought this would be the most interesting contrast to the 7-night Disney cruises to Alaska and Eastern Caribbean .

3-night Disney Cruise in Bahamas ITINERARY

Most Disney cruises in Bahamas stop at Nassau. All stop at Disney Castaway Cay (Disney’s private island).

Your 3-night Disney cruise itinerary in Bahamas from Port Canaveral includes:

  • Day 1: Boarding in Port Canaveral by 3:30 p.m.
  • Day 2: Nassau OR Disney Castaway Cay OR At Sea
  • Day 3: Disney Castaway Cay OR At Sea
  • Day 4: Disembark in Port Canaveral by 8:00 a.m.

Which Disney Cruise SHIP Goes to the Bahamas

Disney Dream, Disney cruise ship, Disney cruise Bahamas

Of the 3-night Disney cruises in Bahamas from Port Canaveral, 55 are on the Disney Dream cruise ship and 2 on Disney Fantasy. Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy are the newest and largest ships in the Disney ship fleet. Both have 1,250 staterooms (4,000 passengers maximum).

Both Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy have the famous AquaDuck water coaster, the world’s longest waterslide on a cruise ship. AquaDuck is 765 feet long and takes a two-man raft over the side of the ship! Other unique water features include a family wading pool right up on Deck 12, an extra splash pad for little ones, and an adults-only fountain pool, in addition to the Quiet Cove pool.

Also, Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy both have other features families love. Connecting staterooms. Star Wars Command Post for the kids. Disney movies on demand. Hot tubs right up against the side of the ship. And unique restaurants, like Enchanted Garden, Royal Palace or Royal Court, and Remy, the sophisticated and intimate, adults-only French gourmet restaurant.

As for broadway-style shows, Disney Dream features Beauty and the Beast and Disney Fantasy features Disney’s Aladdin .

Like all Disney cruise ships, Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy have plenty of fun adults-only pubs, lounges and spa areas. Tons of activities for the kids. And plenty of fun Disney character interactions.

Cheapest Prices for Disney Cruises in Bahamas: When to Book

Boardwalk at Key West Florida, Disney cruise Bahamas

So, how much are Disney cruises in Bahamas? A 3-night Disney cruise in Bahamas ranges from $1,314US to more than $7,556US, based on 2 adults. The cheapest price is for the cheapest inside cabin at the cheapest time you can book it, and the most expensive is the priciest concierge cabin at the most expensive time you can book it (so far!). And this data is based on 2021 Disney cruises in Bahamas.

Even for a short 3-night cruise, you still see quite a range of prices for Disney cruises in Bahamas. So, when should you book? We’ll break it down below.

Now, before I get into the cheapest and priciest times to GO and BOOK your Disney cruise in Bahamas, here’s a key point to note. Prices for adults and children fluctuate, often in opposition. My data below is based on a family of four (2 adults/2 children). So, the cheapest sailing for a family might be relatively pricier if you’re only booking adults.

*Note: Since I started recording prices in January 2020, I will continue to collect them until March 2021. This will give me an entire cycle’s worth of data to compare prices for Disney cruises in Bahamas. And then I’ll update this analysis as needed.

Cheapest Time to GO on a Disney Cruise in Bahamas

When is the cheapest time to GO on your Disney cruise in Bahamas? The cheapest time to take your 3-night Disney cruise in Bahamas is late January to February and September. Other comparably cheaper prices for Disney cruises in Bahamas include October to early December. This is generally true across all cabin types, though you can find exceptions.

TABLE: 2021/2022 CHEAPEST Disney Cruises in Bahamas – WINTER (USD)

Early 2022 sailings were just released in October 2020, so I include these cheapest Disney cruises in Bahamas for comparison. While I don’t want to give away the cheapest time to book your cruise in Bahamas (section below!), I will tell you that the 2021 prices below are NOT the original release prices.

*Note: Prices are in US Dollars and for 2 adults/2 children.

TABLE: 2020/2021 CHEAPEST Disney Cruises in Bahamas – FALL (USD)

Below are the cheapest prices for Disney cruises in Bahamas during fall, which is the second cheapest time to go compared to January and February. Apologies that the table is so big, but I thought you might be interested in seeing how 2020 and 2021 compare. Below I discuss when to book to get these best prices for Disney cruises in Bahamas.

Most Expensive Time to GO on a Disney Cruise in Bahamas

The most expensive time to GO on your 3-night Disney cruise in Bahamas is June, July and over Christmas. And as of October 2020, this is mostly true across all cabin types.

TABLE: 2021 PRICIEST Disney Cruises in Bahamas – SUMMER (USD)

In the table below, you can see July 2, 2021 as the most expensive cruise in Bahamas during summer for three cabin types. Prices climb leading up to July 2, make a small dip and back up to July 23, and then drop off into August.

But, you’ll notice that concierge cabins are more expensive in June compared to July. As of October 2020, concierge cabins are actually more expensive for the April 2, 2021 sailing ($8,040) and April 15, 2022 ($7,878) compared to summer prices of Disney cruises.

TABLE: 2020/2021 PRICIEST Disney Cruises in Bahamas – CHRISTMAS (USD)

As you’d likely expect, prices for Disney cruises are most expensive over the Christmas and New Years holidays. If you want the festive Disney cruise experience but don’t want to pay so much, book an early December sailing. These are almost half the price!

Cheapest Time to BOOK a Disney Cruise in Bahamas

White sand at Key West Florida beach, Disney cruise Bahamas

So, now we know the cheapest and most expensive times to GO on a Disney cruise in Bahamas. When is the cheapest time to BOOK that cruise?

When we booked our Disney cruise in January 2020, SO many people told us to wait. “Cruise prices always get cheaper,” they said. But all my research at the time (i.e. a lot of great blogs out there!) said, “NO! Disney cruise prices only go UP from their release price.”

And they were right. EXCEPT for last-minute Disney cruise deals specifically for Bahamas.

Book in Advance or Take Your Chances: Two Options for Cheapest Disney Cruise to Bahamas

If you want to be sure you have a cabin and pick your preferred location, the cheapest time to book your Disney cruise in Bahamas is the month the sailings are released. Looking at past release dates, new Disney cruise sailings are typically released as follows:

  • Between late Feb and mid Apr: Sailings released for June, July, August, September of the following year
  • Between mid May and late July: Sailings released for October, November, December of the following year
  • Between late Sept and late Oct: Sailings released for January, February, March, April, May of two years ahead

BUT … if you want the best Disney cruise deals, you could wait for a last-minute release of guaranteed rooms with restrictions. Guaranteed rooms with restrictions are those that are assigned by Disney Cruise Lines. Also, they might have obstructed views, like a porthole or partial wall instead of a full verandah.

I saw prices for Disney cruises to Bahamas drop to their LOWEST through this deal, on sailings in January to April 2021. (Of all three Disney cruises I tracked, only cruises to Bahamas had last-minute deals cheaper than original release prices.) BUT not for concierge cabins; their original release prices were still cheaper. These guaranteed rooms with restrictions had staggered release dates from August through October 2020.

And the problem with waiting for these last-minute Disney cruise deals? They might not happen, of course, and you might get a cabin you don’t love.

Note: The cheapest time to book a concierge cabin is as soon as it’s released. I’ve only seen concierge cabin prices go up.

TABLE: 2021 GUARANTEED ROOM DEALS for Disney Cruises in Bahamas – Apr 16 Sailing (USD)

Below is a table that compares the Disney cruise deals you can get with guaranteed rooms with restrictions. Taking April 16, 2021 sailing as an example, you can see that the guaranteed room with restrictions rates dip below original release prices. But, regular room rates (i.e. where you pick your cabin) continue to climb. (Although not very much.)

*Note: Prices are in US Dollars and for 2 adults ONLY (only available data for release prices).

cruises to bahamas prices

If you missed the cheapest time to book your Disney cruise in Bahamas, what’s the worst time to avoid booking?

Generally, the longer you wait to book your Disney cruise in Bahamas, the more expensive the price will get. Prices are closely tied to demand. So, as a specific sailing or a cabin within a specific sailing gets popular, prices of Disney cruises go up. And if a cabin type becomes unavailable and then opens up again, it’ll be more expensive than before.

Also, if you want to book a guaranteed room with restrictions Disney cruise deal, book once it’s released. While most are available at least two months, I saw some disappear within weeks of me recording them.

Now, unlike the Disney cruises to Alaska and Eastern Caribbean, I didn’t see massive fluctuations in prices for Disney cruises in Bahamas. Maybe this is partly because it’s a shorter and cheaper cruise to begin with??

TABLE: 2021 PRICE INCREASES for Disney Cruises in Bahamas – Sep 17 Sailing (USD)

Below is a table that shows how prices for Disney cruises in Bahamas climb over time. While most cruises in Bahamas climbed only slightly over time, the September 17, 2021 sailing shows a fairly decent climb. At least in some cabin types.

Sailboat at Key West Florida, Disney cruise Bahamas

Disney cruise deals come up quite regularly for Disney cruises in Bahamas. These deals are offered by Disney Cruise Lines, and also available by a Disney cruise travel agent. Here are four Disney cruise deals that may apply to your Disney cruise in Bahamas:

  • 50% deposit: Offered in January to mid-February on new reservations (4+ nights), for bookings between June of the same year through May of the following year.
  • Special rates for Florida residents and military: Offered regularly for 3-night Disney cruises in Bahamas. In October 2020, these Disney cruise deals applied to specific sailings January through March. Florida and military rates were the same, but differed based on sailing date. More sailing deals were available to military rates than Florida rates.
  • 25% Canadian reduction: Typically offered when new sail dates are released, for near sailing dates and specific cabin types. In October 2020, these Disney cruise deals applied to only the January 22 and 29, 2021 sailings.
  • Up to 25% on select sailings: Offered periodically, often for shorter cruises and specific cabin types with restrictions . Typically this means that they choose the room for you, PLUS you must pay in full when booking, payment is non-refundable (relaxed due to COVID), and both the sail date and stateroom category can’t be changed. In October 2020, this Disney cruise deal included 3-night cruises in Bahamas, for verandah cabins with restrictions for sailings in January through March 2021.

There seems to be a link between these Disney cruise deals and when Disney Cruise Line releases guaranteed rooms with restrictions.

Benefits of Booking with a Disney Cruise Travel Agent

Should you book your Disney cruise in Bahamas with a travel agency or directly with Disney Cruise Line? The benefit of booking your cruise to Bahamas with a Disney cruise travel agent is that agents offer Disney cruise deals above what’s offered by Disney Cruise Line. And all Disney Cruise Line offers mentioned above are also available through travel agents that sell Disney cruises.

Now, it’s helpful to know that travel agencies are prohibited from undercutting Disney Cruise Line prices. So, you won’t find a better price for Disney cruises compared to Disney Cruise Line. But you will find incentives from travel agencies to book through them.

Disney cruise travel agents will usually offer their incentives as an onboard credit, which is based on your booking cost. As you look for your best Disney cruise deal, look at what’s included in your “booking cost.” Some extra things can bump you up to the higher onboard credit. For example, most travel agencies credit the insurance, transfers and hotels you book with them. But, only some travel agencies include your taxes.

Also, some travel agencies offer specific incentives, like credit on shore excursions, or a gift basket of cruise essentials.

Which of these Disney cruise deals is best for you? It’ll depend on:

  • Your specific booking cost (including insurance, transfers, hotels and taxes);
  • Where you spend the most, other than the cabin price (e.g. gratuities, alcohol, shore excursions); and,
  • Whether you’re a Costco member.

I suggest you start by pricing out your preferred Disney cruise to Bahamas, including your travel companion details and cabin type. Then compare offers from Disney cruise travel agents, looking specifically at the factors above.

Starfish at Key West Florida beach, Disney cruise Bahamas

So, when should you book your Disney cruise in Bahamas? The best prices for Disney cruises in Bahamas are in January/February and September to November. Either book right away when your sailing is released, or take your chances with cheaper guaranteed rooms with restrictions.

Guaranteed rooms with restrictions are typically cheaper than original release prices. But, you take your chances on whether they’ll be released for the sailing date you’re interested in, and I haven’t seen any of these deals for concierge rooms. Disney Cruise Line picks your cabin for you and it might have obstructed views. These Disney cruise deals are typically released a few months before a sailing but can disappear at any time.

Compared to Disney cruises to Alaska and Eastern Caribbean, cruises in Bahamas are much more frequent, much less volatile in price fluctuations, and have many more Disney cruise deals.

Once you’ve compared prices for Disney cruises with your specific details on the Disney Cruise Line website, I highly recommend comparing Disney cruise deals at three Disney travel agents:

  • Costco Travel : If you’re already a Costco member, they might have the best Disney cruise deal for you. Instead of an onboard credit, you get a Costco gift card. Their online interface is great, immediately showing you how much your gift card will be, based on your sail date and cabin type.
  • Cruise Direct : A very popular, well-established website for booking cruises. Their search function is fantastic, including ship features and customer ratings. Quickly compare cruise prices, sailings and companies. Cruise Direct also offers competitive onboard credits, no booking fees and flexible payment plans.
  • Dreams Unlimited Travel : Where I booked our upcoming May 2021 Disney cruise, because they clearly include taxes with their onboard credit. This bumped us up to the higher onboard credit. Plus, they offer a gift basket with cruise essentials, which is a nice touch. Their website isn’t nearly as easy to use as Cruise Direct, though, so I did my research elsewhere. So far, I’ve had excellent customer service.

Woohoo!! Aren’t you excited?!

LaGrange woman back home after falling ill on cruise, being hospitalized in the Dominican Republic

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Loretta Cox is back home in LaGrange and reunited with her family, after a medical emergency while overseas led to her being in a coma in the Dominican Republic.

Atlanta News First reported two weeks ago that it was thanks to the community’s help she could be medically flown back to the United States.

Now, we were there as she was getting settled back in Georgia and feeling much better.

“It was amazing to see it and to live to tell it-- the love that people had shown,” said Loretta Cox.

“I got to my driveway and I started crying. I couldn’t get out of the car without crying, because I was just so overjoyed that I was home,” she continued.

She had a terrifying ordeal on what should have been a dream vacation.

While on a Carnival cruise to the Bahamas a few weeks ago, she said she had been enjoying her evening, when she suddenly felt like she needed to lie down.

“As I was headed to my room, I was getting short of breath,” she explained.

Since she has asthma, she thought she may just need her inhaler. All she remembered were two teens calling the medic and a woman assisting her, before it went dark.

“Because her lungs filled up with fluid, her lungs collapsed, and that’s why she had to be placed on a ventilator,” said her daughter, Aldes Brooks.

Cox was taken to the nearest hospital in the Dominican Republic, where she stayed for two days in a coma in the intensive care unit.

“It was a money game,” said Brooks. “It was like we were paying a ransom to keep our mother alive.”

The total cost for those two days, she said, was about $50,000.

Word spread quickly, through social media and word of mouth, that her mother needed help, and in just 24 hours, community members donated the roughly $25,000 needed for a medical air transport back to the United States.

“It was friends. It was family. It was church members. It was strangers, people who had seen her at Wal Mart!” Brooks said.

Cox was treated at Broward Health in Fort Lauderdale for about a week when she finally woke up, her husband by her side.

“I was so happy to see a familiar face when I woke up!”

She said she is beyond grateful to the people who helped her and gave her the precious gift of time with her children and grandchildren.

“Thank you,” she said. “Cherish each day you have. Cherish it.”

She is now undergoing testing at Emory to figure out what caused the fluid buildup in her lungs that day.

Brooks noted they had to pay out-of-pocket because her mother did not have medical travel insurance.

They now advise, whether going on a cruise or traveling in general, to purchase it and look up what all it includes.

They also encourage people traveling to places where you do not necessarily need a passport, like the Bahamas, to get one anyway.

Cox said she would have had a much harder time getting back into the U.S. from the Dominican Republic without it.

There is an online fundraiser for those who still want to help donate to her medical expenses.
