Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that your recent Boscov’s visit wasn’t worthy of 5 stars. We value your feedback and one of our core principles is providing quality customer service, so please feel free to email us at [email protected] with your name, phone number, store location, and any additional information on your visit so we can learn how we can make your Boscov’s experience better.

I would give Boscov"s zero stars if i could. They only sell prom dresses in size 5 n 7 n 9 that is not fare to the girls who wear a bigger size . What about those bigger size girls? And for this reason i am not willing to shop at Boscov"s. They discriminate against lsrger size girls. Also they have a young male and a older woman who work the cash register at the top of the escalator in the house wares department who are rude to the customers. Just thought i put that out there so customers beware. Management above them meaning their manager do nothing about this apparently they like to loose customers because that is what will happen. I am not done with this i am gonna put this out there for everyone to be aware of not shopping at boscov"s in the berkshire mall every where i can make this be know. Lousy store go elsewhere to shop and besides Boscovs buys seconds and sells them at a high price. I know because they bought our sweaters thst were seconds and sold them at full price. All i can say sad so sad.

I have been a repeat customer at multiple Boscov's locations over the years. I frequently partake in the great sale prices for shoes, auditorium sales, linens, house decor and fancier styles of clothing for myself and my family. Our last incredible deal purchase consisted of leather style storage benches marked down from about $60 to $20! My girls and I each purchased one for our rooms. We also love that we can get delicious Godiva chocolates and other sweets at reasonable prices. This has become our family's go to place for shoes since Payless had closed. The prices are always reasonable and there's a wide selection of styles. The sales offer impressive discounts and opportunities to save money on quality items. Despite the sometimes less than joyful/pleasant staff, I'd recommend this shopping location for the sales and items offered. It is a shame that many (not all) of the sales reps just seem like unhappy people. When I shop there I do my best to set a higher standard of kindness by demonstrating to others how I like to be treated through my own words/actions. (Just because they may not be kind, doesn't mean I have to act the same way.)

I just spent over an hour and a half looking for a dress to wear to my company's holiday party and when I got to the counter, the cashier in Petites who was training holiday help quite literally refused to sell it to me. It was missing the price but still had the plastic tag on it and I even showed her the wrack I got it from--$29.99. So she checked the sewn-in label for a style number and said it wasn't on there. So then she called down to Juniors, certain that only their dept sold this brand, but they don't. She rudely stated, "I can't sell you this because I can't tell if this is even a Boscov's dress. Someone may have placed their own dress on the wrack and left it there." Had she taken the time to look it up like I did: "Violet B Bell Sleeve Knit Plaid A-Line Dress" in stock at Boscov's Berkshire Mall. Took me less than a minute to find. I've regrettably purchased a lot here, but never again after today. Not even Christmas gift cards, which I was going to add to my order.

They actually came through in the end and took the jeans back and gave me a shipping label in order to return them. Can't complain about that. Thanks so much.

Purchased three pair of jeans online. Bought them in the size that I wear my jeans. Never even came close to fitting. Contacted the company to get a shipping label so that it didn't cost me to send the stuff back they flat-out refused to give me a shipping label to return it I had a ship it all back at my own expense. We'll never never never buy from them again. Junk

Extremely rude service in the furniture department. Went in to view furniture for our new home got asked if we needed help I simply said "we are just looking for now but thank you" and the woman said well thank you can't hangout here you gotta keep moving along... not sure why if there were others also looking at furniture and sitting etc. but yet we were the only ones that got told to leave although those weren't her words but that's how we felt like I business was not needed and this was my first time into this store moving from California and this will definitely be my last time.

I was shopping at the Berkshire mall Boscov's for sneakers and socks. I picked the pair i wanted the weekend of Memorial day and i wanted to ring out. I noticed i needed socks so i asked for the socks the cashier in the womens apparel could not even tell me directly she was pointing with her fingers like a flight attendant like she was in US air or something. The elderly cashier was rude well okay i listened to her directions and went to find the socks. The thing i don't understand about your store normal department stores have socks near their shoe department and your store did not. That annoyed me my feet hurt from the shoes i wanted to replace then your staff had me chasing the socks like i was a mouse in a maze i was so annoyed. Also here is another thing your cashiers are rude.Yes rude. Not one of them were around when i needed them. When i went to check out they said i could not pay for my sneakers because they were not mens shoes at the departments i was in . There was NO SIGNS saying i could not bring a purchase to another department. The lazy cashiers did not want to work. I visually saw every department bare with no cashiers they were chit chatting like they were at a coffee shoppe talking about customers and about how rude each and everyone of us was. Well in the area i was in was near the mens department i went to cash out my sneakers and socks after rat racing threw your store that smelt like old people , stinky feet and puke. Well the smell is besides the point. The rude cashiers said we are called sales agents with a smart smerk and said is this mens sneakers i said no at three different cash registers at each department you know they made me go threw the front of the store to the shoe department i wasted about 30 minutes to a hour of my time walking threw your store. Also your mouthy cashiers all of them made remarks when i said i hate this ass backwords store they said if you hate shopping here why did you come here to shop. They turned me away i open my mouth and said to your ladies on the sales for near the mens wear and the womens wear your rude and i did make a remark i hope your store gets shut down. You know how many people i saw that agreed with me and a customer said your clothes and items are over priced that is besides the point. I am a customer how did you know i was a secret shopper well um. I could of been. Look your cashiers need a meet with your manager or the owner or whom ever is in charge of that store. Get a room deorderizer as well for the whole store and get those sales or cashiers as you like to call them to stop chit chatting and do their work. Not one of them were doing anything they were not busy. I could of spent my money at another department store like Khol's or Marshell's but no i spent it at your useless store. Yeah many people like it because your the only on in wyomissing. If i ever shop at your Boscov's again it will be in Lebanon or Exeter not Wyomissing. Your store for real needs to be shut down i was there many times for trips for clothes and all i got was constant smerks and remarks of if i don't like shopping here leave. Look are you the mall police. I will. I will leave and never come back and tell all my friends and family to tell your company to pound it next time. I work hard for my money and when i go shopping i like to be treated with respect. Yes plastic is plastic and cash is cash but your staff can keep their remarks to themselves. If they hate their jobs so bad them by all means fire them but why in the hell are you letting them talk to customers like that. I could of been a secret shopper you don't know well i did lash back with comment to them like i hate this store and i hope your store gets shut down. Yeah customers are always right in our eyes we are the ones buying your over priced shit. But for them to get smart and cocky with me nope. Not having it. Wyomissing Boscov's used to have meaning but now it is empty no one goes there and the staff is stands arounds and does nothing also likes to mock customers. So screw ya then my money is gold some where else then. My plastic is golden at Target, Khol's TJ Maxx and also Old Navy. Why should i shop some where when the cashiers think they are running the store like they own it screw you. I spent to much of my hard earn money to be disrespected so yeah i am yelping about this because i am not the only one who thinks this. Your staff are all old anyways they look like they need SSA and AARP. So yeah you lost me and i will spread the word about my experience so sucks for you. Because you had no idea i could of been a secret shopper. That sucks right you want to be a number one department store nope. Your not. I think your store needs to be shut down. Time after time i go in their the quality is low, the cashiers are rude and the prices are to high. My experience sucked period.

Nestled in the heart of Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, Berkshire Mall is a testament to suburban shopping culture.

Opened on February 10, 1970, this enclosed shopping hub has been a focal point for retail activity in the Berks County region.

Its strategic location, accessible from US 222/US 422 at the Paper Mill Road and State Hill Road interchanges, makes it an accessible destination for locals and visitors.

The mall’s main entrances, welcoming shoppers along Woodland Road and State Hill Road, are gateways to a world of retail and leisure.

Diving deeper into Berkshire Mall’s offerings, one finds a retail space totaling 910,000 square feet.

This single-level structure, with partial upper levels in former Sears and Bon-Ton locations and a three-floor Boscov’s, offers a unique shopping experience.

A large parking lot and public transit access via BARTA bus routes add to its accessibility, making it a convenient shopping destination.

The current state of Berkshire Mall reflects a blend of past charm and present-day dynamics. Owned by Namdar Realty Group, the mall has adapted to the changing retail landscape.

Despite its modest size compared to mega-malls, Berkshire Mall is a comfortable and familiar place, offering a mix of shopping and socializing spots. It’s a go-to place for those seeking things to do in Reading, Pennsylvania area .

The Berkshire Mall’s story begins in the late 1960s, marked by the rise of suburban shopping centers.

Planning for the mall kicked off with Sears announced as the first major tenant in November 1967, signaling a new era of retail in the region.

This announcement was a significant milestone, replacing Sears’ previous Shillington location that had opened in 1956.

Construction began in earnest in 1968, culminating in the grand opening on February 10, 1970. The mall’s debut was not merely a local event; it marked the arrival of the first enclosed shopping mall in eastern Pennsylvania outside the Philadelphia area .

The Berkshire Mall’s name holds a special connection to the region’s heritage, derived from Berks County’s namesake, the English royal county of Berkshire.

This cultural nod is further reflected in the mall’s aesthetic choices, like the old fountain in the center choreographed by a local Reading company, Symphonic Fountains.

The mall underwent significant changes over the years, including the addition of The Terrace Cafe, a food court, in 1989.

This new section replaced the Victorian-themed mini-mall known as “Lamp Post Lane,” adding a modern touch to the mall’s interior landscape.

Berkshire Mall - Wyomissing, PA

The story of Berkshire Mall is also one of changing hands and evolving structures. Initially developed by the Goodman Company, the mall saw a transfer of ownership to Equitable Real Estate Management in 1985, followed by Allied Properties in 2002.

These changes in stewardship brought new perspectives and adaptations to the mall’s format and offerings.

The mall’s structure also evolved, with the Boscov’s store opening in August 2002, replacing the Boscov’s West store in Sinking Spring.

In July 2020, the mall was sold to its current owner, Namdar Realty Group. This evolution reflects the mall’s ability to adapt and grow with the times, continually reinventing itself to meet the changing needs of its patrons.

Boscov’s, synonymous with the Berkshire Mall, has been pivotal as the anchor tenant. The story of Boscov’s in the mall begins in January 2002, when the company purchased Strawbridge’s store, a site that had seen changes from Wanamaker’s to Hecht’s.

In August 2002, the Boscov’s store at Berkshire Mall opened its doors, replacing the Boscov’s West store in Sinking Spring.

This strategic move bolstered Boscov’s presence in the area and reinforced the mall’s status as a key shopping destination.

The presence of Boscov’s, with its wide-ranging merchandise and loyal customer base, has been a constant in the ever-changing landscape of the mall.

The Berkshire Mall has witnessed a significant evolution in its anchor tenants. Sears was announced as the first major tenant in 1967 and was a foundational part of the mall’s initial appeal.

However, times change, and with them, the retail landscape. The mall experienced the departure of significant anchors like The Bon-Ton and Sears, reflecting broader trends in the retail industry.

The Bon-Ton store, initially a Lit Brothers until 1976 and later a Pomeroy’s until 1987, closed its doors on August 28, 2018.

Similarly, Sears announced its closure in November 2018 as part of a broader strategy to phase out traditional brick-and-mortar stores.

These departures marked the end of an era for Berkshire Mall, signaling a shift towards a new retail dynamic.

Berkshire Mall PA north entrance

These anchor stores’ presence and subsequent departure have profoundly impacted Berkshire Mall’s popularity and foot traffic.

Anchor tenants like Sears and The Bon-Ton were more than just large stores; they were drawn that attracted a wide range of shoppers, contributing to the mall’s overall footfall.

Their departure left a noticeable void, challenging the mall to adapt and find new ways to attract visitors.

Despite these changes, Berkshire Mall has continued to serve as a community hub, adapting to these shifts and attracting shoppers with its mix of retail, dining, and entertainment options.

Berkshire Mall has had its share of dramatic incidents, notably involving fire emergencies that tested its safety protocols.

On November 2, 2009, a fire broke out in a display window of the Victoria’s Secret store. The mall’s response was swift, with the sprinkler system activating promptly in the store and the adjacent hallway.

While causing smoke and water damage, this incident was a testament to the mall’s preparedness and safety measures. Similarly, on April 14, 2010, a fire occurred inside Boscov’s.

A worker sustained severe burns and was promptly flown to Lehigh Valley Hospital–Cedar Crest for treatment.

The quick control of the fire within 30 minutes highlighted the mall’s effective emergency response system.

In January 2011, Berkshire Mall was at the center of a viral sensation, albeit for a rather unusual reason.

Distracted by text messaging, a mall patron fell headfirst into the fountain in the Boscov’s court. The incident, captured on security footage, went viral on YouTube with titles like “Girl Falls In Mall Fountain While Texting.”

This incident drew news coverage and raised questions about public safety and the use of mobile devices in walking areas.

It served as a reminder of the unpredictable nature of public spaces and the need for constant vigilance.

On May 22, 2014, Berkshire Mall faced a natural calamity of a different kind. An unusually severe spring thunderstorm brought golf ball-sized hail, causing significant damage.

The hailstorm tore through the ceiling, shattering skylights and leaving glass and debris scattered across walkways, plants, and the fountain in the Sears court.

The storm’s impact extended to the parking lot, where cars were damaged, showcasing the mall’s vulnerability to extreme weather conditions and the importance of robust structural integrity.

Directly across Woodland Road from Berkshire Mall lies its counterpart, Berkshire Mall West. This strip plaza, distinct yet complementary to the central mall, offers a varied retail experience.

Home to establishments like the Fine Wine & Good Spirits Premium Collection store, One Stop Beverage, and TJ Maxx, Berkshire Mall West caters to a different segment of shoppers.

Its offerings range from specialty beverages to discount fashion, providing a diverse shopping experience.

The presence of these stores adds to the overall appeal of the area, creating a comprehensive retail environment that serves a wide range of consumer needs.

Over the years, Berkshire Mall West has seen its share of changes. The plaza housed a Circuit City store until 2009, which was later replaced by H. H. Gregg in 2010.

However, H. H. Gregg closed in 2017 as part of the chain’s restructuring efforts. This space was eventually divided between Burlington and Boot Barn stores in 2021.

Additionally, the plaza experienced the closure of A.C. Moore in 2020 and Old Country Buffet in 2016, reflecting the shifting retail landscape.

These changes showcase the fluid nature of commercial spaces and the continuous adaptation required to meet evolving consumer preferences.

Berkshire Mall West plays a significant role in the local community, complementing the shopping experience the main Berkshire Mall offers.

Its presence not only expands the retail choices available to shoppers but also contributes to the economic vitality of the Wyomissing area.

The plaza serves as an additional draw for visitors to the region, enhancing the overall attractiveness of the Berkshire Mall as a shopping and leisure destination.

Berkshire Mall West has established itself as an integral part of the Wyomissing retail landscape through its varied tenant mix and convenient location.

Berkshire Mall - Wyomissing, PA

Berkshire Mall has transcended its role as a mere shopping center to become a part of the cultural fabric, as evidenced by its appearance in literature.

In 2021, the mall was featured in Tristan LaFerriere’s novel “Black-Haired Boy.” In this story, the main character, Kieran Northrup, visits the mall to purchase a CD from the fictional band Stay Sweet at FYE.

Set in 2006, the novel captures the essence of the mall during a bygone era, mentioning long-closed stores like Sears and The Bon-Ton.

This literary representation highlights Berkshire Mall’s significance as a commercial hub and a setting that resonates with personal and collective memories.

Berkshire Mall’s influence extends into the realm of music. It is believed to have inspired the lyrics “Meet Me Behind the Mall” in Taylor Swift’s song “August” from her 2020 album “Folklore.”

Although this connection remains unconfirmed, the notion suggests the mall’s impact on popular culture.

The lyric evokes a sense of nostalgia and romance, perhaps reflecting the mall’s role as a gathering place for young people.

This alleged lyrical reference underscores how even a small regional mall can leave its mark on broader cultural expressions, resonating with audiences far beyond its physical location.

These cultural references — a novel and a potentially inspired song lyric — demonstrate how Berkshire Mall has embedded itself into the cultural psyche.

Beyond its physical presence as a shopping destination, the mall symbolizes community life and youthful experiences.

Its depiction in popular culture serves as a reminder of the mall’s ability to evoke memories, emotions, and a sense of belonging among those who have walked its corridors.

Berkshire Mall - Wyomissing, PA

In recent years, Berkshire Mall has encountered its fair share of challenges, reflecting the evolving landscape of retail and community spaces.

A significant event in 2023 was a water main break, which notably impacted Boscov’s, flooding the first floor of this anchor store.

Despite this setback, the mall remained open to shoppers, demonstrating resilience and commitment to its patrons.

This incident underscores the ongoing challenges physical retail spaces face in maintaining infrastructure and attractiveness in a rapidly changing environment.

Amidst these challenges, Berkshire Mall continues to play a vital role in the community. In November 2023, the mall hosted the Taste of Berks event, organized by the Greater Reading Chamber Alliance.

This event showcased over 30 local businesses, highlighting the mall’s commitment to community engagement and support for local enterprises.

By hosting such events, Berkshire Mall provides a platform for local businesses to flourish and reinforces its role as a community hub, offering experiences beyond traditional shopping.

As Berkshire Mall navigates the complexities of the retail world in 2023 and beyond, it faces adapting to new consumer behaviors and market trends.

The mall must innovate and evolve to remain relevant while dealing with physical infrastructure challenges and changing shopping habits.

The future of Berkshire Mall may involve a blend of retail, entertainment, and community-focused activities, capitalizing on its longstanding presence in Wyomissing.

The mall’s ability to adapt and innovate will be key to its continued success and relevance in the community as it moves forward.

The Berkshire Mall , nestled in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania , symbolizes change and constancy in the retail world.

From its inception in 1970 to its current state in 2023, the mall has navigated numerous transformations, reflecting the evolving dynamics of retail, culture, and community.

Despite facing challenges typical of regional malls, such as changing ownership, fluctuating tenant rosters, and infrastructural issues, Berkshire Mall has consistently served as a beloved gathering place for shopping, socializing, and community events.

Berkshire Mall’s journey is a microcosm of the larger story of American suburban malls. It has been a stage for significant events, cultural references, and shifts in consumer behavior.

The mall has evolved beyond a mere shopping destination to become a community landmark, hosting events like the Taste of Berks and enduring as a focal point in local narratives and memories.

Its adaptability in the face of retail industry shifts, and its resilience amidst physical challenges showcase the mall’s enduring relevance.

As we look to the future, Berkshire Mall’s story is far from over. Its ability to adapt, innovate, and remain central to the Wyomissing community speaks to its resilience.

The mall’s ongoing evolution, balancing the demands of modern retail with the needs of a local hub, will continue to shape its trajectory.

With its rich history and adaptability, Berkshire Mall remains a testament to the enduring appeal of regional shopping centers in the American landscape.

Rostov-On-Don city is a port and the administrative center of Southern Federal District of Russia. It lies to the southeast of the East European Plain, on the Don River. The city stands on the banks of the Don River, about 46 kilometres east of the Azov Sea and 1,070 kilometres south of Moscow. The climate is temperate continental. Rostov-on-Don has a specific unique outlook because of its rich historical and cultural heritage.

There are more than 1,000 objects of cultural heritage in the city, among them 482 architectural monuments, 70 archaeological monuments, eight large memorial complexes and 106 monuments. It is a major transport hub of the southern part of European Russia and a large educational and scientific center of Russia. So take a look at the city’s major points of interest. Our tips will make your trip to Rostov-On-Don unforgettable and full of interesting activities. https://www.instagram.com/p/BXex-Lzh8uV/?taken-at=213270263 Pushkin Street Take a look at this landscaped boulevard, lined with thousands of trees, flowers, restaurants, food kiosks, benches, memorials and statues. Pushkin Street leads into both the City Park and October Revolution Park. The biggest street of the city is always crowded and you can find a lot of activities there as a tourist. Undoubtedly the first place to go upon arrival, especially if you’re hungry. https://www.instagram.com/p/BYVR7KrHPyl/?tagged=%D1%80%D0%B5%D0%BA%D0%B0%D0%B4%D0%BE%D0%BD Don River Lookout Right after a visit to Pushkin Street, move to Don River lookout (aka, the Embankment) where you’ll enjoy a stroll along the riverside. The Embankment is lined with several restaurants, statues, fountains and a few souvenir shops; it also has an outstanding picturesque view. Yet it is considered to be the centre of Rostov’s nightlife. https://www.instagram.com/p/BYQtspxHtsu/?taken-at=1092801284125416 Rostov Zoo If you’re in travelling with children, then this zoo is well worth a visit. One of the largest zoos in Russia, it is home to a huge variety of animals, including giraffes, camels, polar bears, falcons, reptiles, fish and tigers. Located right in the city centre. https://www.instagram.com/p/BYQDpiIAGEU/?taken-at=879146942 Maxim Gorky Academic Drama Theatre. This theatre is a famous venue for dramatic plays, comedies and concerts in the Rostov area. It is located on the eastern end of Bolshaya Sadovaya Street (Teatralnaya Square 1), directly across the street from the monument known as ‘Stella’. Market shopping is one of the most memorable experiences that Russia has to offer for an adventurous tourist who just arrived here. You can buy anything here. The market is located in the downtown area, on Stanislavskovo Street, just four blocks south of the central intersection of Bolshaya Sadovaya Street. https://www.instagram.com/p/BYXMs9Xjcsk/?tagged=%D1%80%D0%B5%D0%BA%D0%B0%D0%B4%D0%BE%D0%BD Bridges Over the Don River & Embankment This city network of bridges and overpasses was constructed between 2007 and 2010, and it consists of a steel and a concrete composite structures across the River Don.
