WHY BORGO EGNAZIA?

Situated far down in the heel of Italy in picturesque Puglia, a region known for it’s rustic villages, secluded beaches and fabulous cuisine, is the award-winning, architectural masterpiece of Borgo Egnazia.

Some of the accolades include:

  • Best Hotel of the Year – Virtuoso Best of the Best Awards 2016
  • #1 Best Hotel in Italy – Travel + Leisure 2018 World’s Best Hotels
  • Stella Michelin 2019 and 2020 – Ristorante Due Camini
  • Condè Nast Traveler – Gold List 2017 | 2018 | 2019 | 2020 | 2021 The Best Hotels in Europe

Only a 45 minute drive from the port city of Brindisi and an hour drive from the city of Bari, the masseria-style resort is a hidden sanctuary of luxury, paired with cobbled streets, characterful buttresses and hidden staircases. With 63 guest rooms and suites in La Corte, 92 casette rooms (little houses) nestled around Il Borgo piazza and 29 lavish villas, Borgo Egnazia offers the DND community a totally self-contained and super exclusive environment.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

Exhibiting space for meetings, nights accommodation at or near borgo egnazia, networking meals at the resort, pre-scheduled networking meetings.

bbc travel show puglia 2023

“Winston Churchill once famously said: ‘I’m easily satisfied with the very best’. Do Not Disturb fills exactly that void in the marketplace. We look forward to bringing our portfolio of exceptional XO Private members to the table.”

Yvan Vermeesch, MD & Founder, XO Private Official Partner of Do Not Disturb

“A best in show platform that introduces the creme de la creme of travel suppliers to elite travel designers.”

Darren Humphreys, Travel Sommelier

“While I have attended luxury trade shows in the past this one was definitely a class apart. It has opened up my thinking and made me reimagine high-end private travel. The participating suppliers were extraordinary- each one of them, leaders in their respective area of expertise, whether it was Private Charter, Villas, Yacht, Residences or Experiential DMC.”

Srikant Kalyansundarm, The Blu Orb

“Incredible trade show that is firmly a favourite .... the calibre of clients, the intimacy of the event, the relationships strengthened and the new contacts, are all top quality. This show could quite possibly be our biggest ROI from a show to date, as the buyers are the ones we struggle to meet for our exclusive-use properties.”

Bronwyn Smith, Thanda Island

“Great conference with quality buyers that seem to fit the niche product we have to offer. 100% for the organisation of the 4 days, the activities and the choice of Borgo Egnazia as venue.”

Anne Dongois, Nukutepipi Private Island

“Exclusivity is an overused term in the travel industry but DND more than delivered on the concept. Borgo Egnazia served as the perfect backdrop to meet with industry elites and the intimate networking with suppliers offering truly unique and ultra-private experiences was informative, refreshing and inspiring”

Samantha Collum, River Oaks Travel

“The best show… and I have been doing shows for 14 years! Borgo Egnazia made the show elegant and comfortable, like the product being exhibited. Having the buyers and exhibitors stay in the same place is a game changer. Also the size and exclusivity is key.”

Kate Coleridge, Arijiju

“DND was an extraordinary production, bringing together some of the world's finest in the elite luxury travel industry. Somehow, we were all transported simultaneously by the magic of Borgo Egnazia and the expertly executed events, excursions and meetings arranged. In a word, it was incredible!”

Puglia Itinerary 7 Days

Puglia Itinerary 7 Days – This itinerary takes in the key sites of beautiful Puglia, plus suggestions on restaurants and hotels. This itinerary is based on our personal trip and ideas, plus we took the kids with us, so if we can do it then you can too. *Contains affiliate links

ITINERARY – Bari / Monopoli / Caves of Polignano  / Mora Mora  /  Lecce / Otranto / Masseria/Farm Stay / Alberobello

Day 1 Arrive in Bari – Puglia Itinerary 7 Days

bbc travel show puglia 2023

Take the time to visit and explore Bari’s Old Town – stroll along Strada Arco Alto buying handmade pasta, step inside the airy cathedral, stop by the castle and the old harbour, and promenade along the esplanade. Bari has a good reputation for street food, so we nibbled on Panzerotti and Taralli en route while quaffing the odd Aperol Spritz. Discover a full Guide to Bari and details on the Old Town  plus food and drink recommendations.

Organised street food tours are also available (book below), which point you to quality vendors in town.

The city centre also offers good shopping, great clothing, and our kids made a beeline for Lego City.

Decompress! We’d booked the  Mercure Villa Romanazzi Carducci Bari with a pool, so we could relax, swim, have a cocktail and feel those holiday vibes. It’s twenty minutes walk from the Old Town, and about ten minutes from the railway station, offering modern functional rooms. Another popular Bari option with a pool is H Grande Albergo Delle Nazioni .

Dinner – Braceria Signorile on Via G. Petroni is very novel. Order your meat in the butcher’s shop, choose the weight, the cut etc. Then take a seat next door in the restaurant, order any sides and drinks, and within moments the meat feast is served. V good prices too.

Day 2 – Day in Bari / Overnight in Monopoli

Puglia Itinerary 10 Days

After all the walking on Day 1, on Day 2 hit one of Bari’s city beaches. We opted for Pane e Pomodoro so we could soak up some rays. It has a curious sand bank, which meant the kids walked out into the deep before rising up again into the ankle deep water. They found this sudden ‘walking on water’ v entertaining. The beach has easy, vast parking and a chilled vibe.

Food – For low food miles, organic produce from a network of small producers head to  Buò – Crudo, Cotto e Mangiato . It’s very close to Pane e Pomodoro beach too, if you’re peckish after your swim.

If you’d prefer something more hands on then book a pasta experience (below) to discover the local specialty, orecchiette.

If the beach doesn’t appeal read up on more Bari ideas . Next, the drive from Bari to Monopoli takes only forty minutes so whiz down the road and overnight in your second destination.

Puglia Itinerary 10 Days

Hotel – We wanted some time by the pool, so we stayed at the Torre Cintola Natural Sea Emotions resort hotel.  It has two pools, just a few mins outside of Monopoli. The pools were the main attraction for our family but the sea is within reach too. The accommodation itself offers curious apartment pods or standard apartments. We booked the latter, featuring a double bed plus bunkbeds for the kids, modern shower room, plus a small outdoor seating area. Evening meals can be booked there too. It’s a set buffet menu, including wine, but the buffet is all served by staff. Check prices and availability here . We found this place a little corner of relaxation after time spent in the centre of Monopoli.

Day 3 – Monopoli – Puglia Itinerary 7 Days

bbc travel show puglia 2023

Old Town – Start the day by heading straight to the Centro Storico.  Monopoli is one of the cutest, most picturesque towns in the area. We just followed our nose through the winding streets, so read our full guide to Monopoli here.

Beach – We also spent an hour or so at Monopoli’s tiny town beach, the kids swam while I searched for sea glass on the shore.

Food – Because Monopoli is quite a romantic and bonny place, a lot of the restaurants felt quite adult, quite pricey, and kids’ menus don’t seem to really be a thing in Italy. We were delighted to find Antiche Mura on Via Luigi Cadorna  with its wide range of lunch fare at good prices. I tucked into bruschetta as the kids munched on pizza and pasta.

Book Monopoli’s  Torre Cintola Natural Sea Emotions resort hotel.

Day 4 – Caves of Polignano / Drive to Acquarica

bbc travel show puglia 2023

This is a fab excursion. We set sail from Monopoli harbour for a two hour cruise to see the Caves of Polignano. Our trip took 2 hours, the boat held 8 people maximum. We booked with Imbarcatour, who you can find on Facebook .  The crew, Vincenzo and Giada, took us to the biggest caves and told us their story, then let us swim, and finally plied us with Prosecco 🙂 More detailed info, such as prices, in this Monopoli blog post.

Leave Monopoli and Drive South – Our next accommodation choice was v random. We wanted somewhere between Lecce, Otranto and the coastline so we chose a very cheap but cosy apartment in a tiny, cute but quite nondescript, quiet village called Acquarica. Take a look here . Situated above a pizzeria, the hosts even gifted us a free evening meal for all the family. It was so lovely, plus the accommodation had a washing machine, and an outdoor terrace that was a real sun trap.

Day 5 – Mora Mora Beach or Otranto

puglia itinerary 10 day

From the Acquarica apartment, drive ten mins to Mora Mora beach near San Foca. This was the most beautiful beach I saw during our 10-day road trip as it was so expansive and the water was so blue.

If you’d prefer something more active head to the white city of Otranto . This is the one place I wish to return to see, as we didn’t quite make it there!

Day 6 – Visit Lecce/Drive to Masseria near Alberobello

one day in lecce

Next stop, Lecce . Ideal if, after the beauty of Puglia, you fancy a handsome, baroque city that boasts ornate churches and even an amphitheatre in the centre of town. Read a full guide to Lecce, including a park, plus food and drink specialties, such as the sweet Leccese coffee I’m drinking above, and the gorgeous bakery snack of pasticciotti.

From Lecce we headed to our final stop, the fairytale town of Alberobello. You can stay in the town’s signature and iconic creative conical houses called ‘trulli’. We’d also heard of Italian farm stays called ‘ masseria ‘, so we combined the two concepts staying at a masseria with trulli accommodation just outside Alberobello . The property had an outdoor pool, and our two-bedroom accommodation had a small kitchenette. We LOVED this place – book  here .

Masseria Puglia

Day 7 – Alberobello – Puglia Itinerary 7 Days

bbc travel show puglia 2023

Exploring the beauty of Alberobello is an unmissable stop in Puglia. The biggest issue is knowing exactly what to see and where to get great viewpoints of the trulli. Read our guide to Alberobello  to know which areas to head for, where to park and which trulli stand out.

From Alberobello, it was just over an hour to Bari airport, so before you know it you’ll be homeward bound. I hope this helps you plan your Puglian break. There are other stunning cities and towns to consider too, from Gallipoli to Brindisi , but in 7 Days this itinerary takes in core sights with some downtime factored in too.

10 TV Shows About Italy To Watch Before Your Trip

Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy - Best TV Shows About Italy

This post may contain affiliate links. Please read the disclaimer here .

I don’t know about your home country but in the UK, every minor celebrity seems to have their own travel TV shows about Italy. Inevitably, at least one episode features this B-list personality strolling down cobbled streets in a straw hat slurping pasta and sipping chianti. And who could blame them?!

There aren’t just lots of travel shows about Italy focusing on food or culture either. Some of the best Italian shows on Netflix, for example, are dramas set amongst the crowds of Florence or vineyards outside Venice.

If you’re visiting Italy soon, you will no doubt want to seek out as many awesome films and shows about Italy as you can!

Check out these blog posts for recommendations of movies set in Venice , Rome , Sicily , and the rest of Italy .

But if you are specifically looking for a mix of travel shows and TV shows set in Italy, you’re in the right place! Here are some of the best options. There’s a slight UK bias but you should be able to source most of these recommendations wherever you are.

List of TV Shows About Italy: Travel Shows and More

1. travel man: 48 hours in….

English | 11 Seasons (so far) | 30-60m | Watch on Channel 4

  • Season 2, Episode 6: Venice with Jo Brand
  • Season 3, Episode 4:  Naples with Jack Dee
  • Season 3, Episode 5:  Florence with Rebel Wilson
  • Season 5, Episode 1:  Rome with Matt Lucas
  • Season 7, Episode 4:  Milan with Morgana Robinson

Let’s start with not just one of the best Italy travel shows, but one of my favourite travel shows of all time. Presented by Richard Ayoade since 2015 with Joe Lycett taking over in 2021,  Travel Man  usually focuses on easy weekend city break destinations from the UK.

The presenter goes on a weekend break with a famous guest, usually a comedian/comic actor, and they have a lovely time.

So far, the show has covered many major Italian cities with direct flights from the UK. They still have Palermo, Catania, Turin, Verona, Genoa, Palermo, Bari, and Bologna plus some others yet to cover so we don’t have to rule out more Italian content in the future!

All episodes are free to watch on Channel 4  in the UK and some of the series are on  Netflix  for international audiences.

Travel Man: 48 Hours In... Naples with Jack Dee

2. From Scratch

English, Italian | 8 Episodes | 60m | Watch on Netflix

Although it didn’t get the love it deserved when first released at the end of 2022, this limited series is one of the best Italian shows on Netflix .

From Scratch  is a show based on the memoir by Tembi Locke (also incredible). She’s an American who studies abroad for a year in Florence where she meets her future husband, who is a chef from Sicily . However, once they return to the US to live together, illness and family tensions seek to tear them apart.

I must warn you that the last few episodes are unbelievably sad (you’ll be ugly crying throughout). But it displays incredible scenery from both Tuscany and Sicily as well as lots of Italian cooking!

From Scratch (2022) Best TV Shows About Italy

3. Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy

English, Italian | 2 Seasons (so far) | 60m | Watch on BBC iPlayer

Hands down,  this  is one of the most popular Italian TV shows if not  the  most popular Italy travel show of all time.

Tucci, who speaks Italian and has Italian heritage on both sides of his family, is on a quest to explore all 20 regions in Italy. He’s deep diving into the dishes, flavours, wines, and heart of everywhere from Bolzano to Basilicata.

So far, he’s covered: Campania, Lazio, Emilia-Romagna, Lombardia, Tuscany, Sicily, Veneto, Piedmont, Calabria, Sardinia, Puglia, and Liguria. Unfortunately, CNN cancelled the show after two seasons in 2022 but Tucci has promised to continue without them. Watch this space!

4. The White Lotus

English | 2 Seasons (so far) | 60m | Watch on Amazon Prime

The White Lotus  was a HUGE hit when HBO released season one in 2021. It’s a drama set in a hotel of the same name in Maui where one of the characters ends up dead. Since it’s an anthology show, season two was transplanted to another White Lotus hotel with an almost entirely new cast in Taormina , Sicily .

It’s absolutely one of the most popular TV shows set in Italy in recent years. And the best part is, you don’t really need to watch the first season to understand this one! Although you really should, they’re both incredible television shows.

Season two will make you want to stay in a five-star hotel, until you look at the room rates, of course. Luckily, there are tons of gorgeous agriturismos and villas in Sicily you can book instead.

The White Lotus One of the Best TV Shows About Italy

5. Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown

English | 12 Seasons | 60m | Watch on Amazon Prime

  • Season 2, Episode 6:  Sicily
  • Season 8, Episode 10:  Rome
  • Season 10, Episode 8:  Southern Italy

Anthony Bourdain was the master of food and travel TV shows. I always end up watching at least one episode from one of his shows before travelling anywhere, because he seems to have travelled  everywhere .

You can’t help but learn something you didn’t expect from Anthony Bourdain. In his landmark series Parts Unknown he shows Italy, and all of the places he travels to, in a different light than 99.9% of travel TV series in Italy.

It’s a real shame he didn’t shoot more episodes in Italy but it’s understandable that he didn’t since this country is well-traversed terrain. The show is called Parts Unknown , after all!

Anthony Bourdain has two other travel food shows,  No Reservations  and  The Layover , with episodes set in Italy. These shows and Parts Unknown  often appear on Netflix, so watch out for them the next time you are searching for Netflix Italian TV shows.

Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown

6. Somebody Feed Phil (+ I’ll Have What Phil’s Having)

English | 6 Seasons/Limited Series | 45-60m | Watch on Netflix | Watch on Amazon Prime

  • Season 2, Episode 1:  Venice
  • ( Season 1, Episode 2:  Italy)

The Anti-Bourdain (in a good way!), Phil Rosenthal is an affable presenter who will inspire you to eat all of the things and travel to all of the places. While making lighthearted ‘my wife’ jokes, feeding the crew, and making his loved ones back in the US jealous of his treats, of course.

Somebody Feed Phil is one of the best TV shows in Venice I’ve ever watched. During my trip to Venice in April 2023, I visited almost all the places suggested during his episode! As a Netflix Original, it’s one of the top Italian TV shows on Netflix too.

If you weren’t aware,  Somebody Feed Phil  started out as a PBS show called  I’ll Have What Phil’s Having . You used to be able to watch every episode for free on YouTube but sadly, it’s been taken down.

I’m still mentioning it as the Italy episode was perfect and you can still access it through Amazon Prime in some countries.

Somebody Feed Phil One of the Best TV Shows About Italy

7. Francesco’s Italy: Top to Toe

English, Italian | 4 Episodes | 60m | Watch Free on YouTube

One of the more random entries on this list, I literally searched ‘Italy’ in BBC iPlayer before my trip to Rome in June 2018 and found this travel show from 2006. Francesco da Mosto is a Venetian architect who drives his Alpha Romeo Spider across Italy, from the north to the south.

This TV show is super helpful if you’re planning a trip but you’re not sure  where to go in Italy . It covers the entire country!

Just some of the things I learned about from watching this Italy TV programme were more about the Fiat car, the British Aristocracy’s history in Tuscany, and the poverty of Sicily. British actress Dame Maggie Smith even makes an appearance!

Even though it’s no longer on BBC iPlayer, you can play all four episodes for free on YouTube.

Francesco's Italy: Top to Toe

8. The Trip to Italy

English | 6 Episodes | 30m | Watch on Amazon Prime

I still don’t understand the  The Trip… format. There have been four seasons so far (2010’s  The Trip  set in the Lake District, 2014’s  The Trip to Italy , 2017’s  The Trip to Spain  and 2020’s  The Trip to Greece ).

But then these series are re-released as films? Plus, the premise is that comedic British actors Rob Brydon and Steve Coogan visit restaurants in these places to ‘review’ them for a newspaper column, which is fake.

They even play fictionalised versions of themselves featuring kids they don’t have in real life. Is this what  Made in Chelsea  is like?!

Regardless, it’s still a fun TV series set in Italy. They follow in the footsteps of the British romantic poets and visit lots of places from Capri to Piedmont .

Although you can watch it through Amazon Prime , this is another show that often hits Netflix .

The Trip to Italy

9. Everybody Loves Raymond

English | 9 Seasons | 30m | Watch on Channel 4

  • Season 5, Episodes 1&2: Italy

Yes, I’m including the two episodes of the US sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond  that were set in Italy on this list! It’s my list, I can do what I like.

Coincidentally, Phil Rosenthal of  Somebody Feeds Phil  was the creator of  Everybody Loves Raymond  so it all ties together. Ray Romano plays Ray Barone, a family man with three kids living in Long Island, NY with his parents living across the street.

I remember watching  Everybody Loves Raymond  on Channel 4 every morning before school. I used to look forward to the Italy episodes in Rome at the start of season five as they would always make me dream of visiting Italy one day.

In the UK, you can watch every episode for free on Channel 4 but I’m sure you can stream them in other places worldwide.

Everybody Loves Raymond

10. Master of None

English, Italian | 3 Seasons | 30m | Watch on Netflix

  • Season 2, Episode 1: The Thief
  • Season 2, Episode 2:  Le Nozze

Raise your hand, who wants to take a break from your life to be a pasta-making apprentice for three months? Oh, and you also get to live in the gorgeous city of Modena, Italy ? Me too, my friend. Me too…

Master of None  is mostly set in New York but the first two episodes of season two are in Italy. There are homages to Italian neorealist film  The Bicycle Thief  and it’s so wanderlust-inducing that it has to be one of the top Italian Netflix shows.

Master of None

Other TV Shows About Italy: A Taste of Italy  (2021),  Alex Polizzi’s Secret Italy (2014),  Alex Polizzi’s Italian Islands  (2016),  We Are Who We Are  (2020),  Luna Nera  (2020),  My Brilliant Friend ,  Hotel Portofino  (2022)

“Somebody Feed Phil” on Netflix is an amazing show if food is also important during the trip. The show contains 22 cities on different continents, and Venice and Modena (Italy) was also beautifully represented. Apparently a new season is also coming. Philip Rosenthal is the creator of “Everybody Loves Raymond”.

Hey Coenraad! Yes, I LOVE Somebody Feed Phil!! I wrote this guide back in the spring of 2018 so I hadn’t heard of him then…

Episode #155: 2023 italy trip inspiration.

This article may contain compensated links. See our full disclosure here

Listen to “Dream Italy Travel Destinations – Inspiration for Your Trip” on Spreaker.

Looking for inspiration for a future trip to Italy? We ask some of our regular guests where in Bella Italia they will be visiting in 2023 and why.

Show notes In this episode, we hear from some of our regular and favorite podcast guests about where they will be heading in Italy in 2023. Their itineraries include volcanic Mediterranean islands, Tuscany’s secret southern coast, the Maldives of Italy, and following an ancient Roman road.

Where is everyone looking forward to exploring in 2023?

Nikki taylor.

Nikki Taylor is an Australian expat and real estate expert, specializing in Italian property purchases for foreigners.

Nikki lives in the upper part of Puglia in Valle d’Itria, but is passionate about the south and will be spending time in 2023 discovering more of lower Salento.

One place that always intrigues her is a town called Nadò which is about 30 minutes from Lecce. It’s absolutely magnificent. It’s got beautiful baroque-style architecture and is less than 5 km from a beautiful beach town called Santa Maria al Bagno. Santa Maria al Bagno is a so pretty – like something straight out of a postcard. Nikki helps people buy real estate in Italy and the further south you go in Puglia, you find these gorgeous little undiscovered rustic towns, and the beaches down there are sublime.

If you visit the area, then it’s well worth heading for the gorgeous beachside town of Marina di Pescoluse. They have a lido and it’s known as the Italian Maldives. If you Google it, you will see why – with a sandy beach and emerald water. The water is also shallow, warm, and clear. It can feel like sitting in a giant bathtub and because it is so warm and stays shallow for miles, it’s great if you’ve got little kids, because of the shallowness, clearness, and lack of waves.

Toni Mazzaglia

Toni has lived in Florence for 20 years and runs the food and wine tour company Taste Florence .

In 2023 Toni is dreaming about visiting Le Marche. Le Marche is a region that is not famous outside of Italy, so is a best-kept secret for those in the know. There are some amazing parks and beaches that Toni wants to visit including Numana beach and Parco del Cornero. It’s a gorgeous region and is not that far from Tuscany where she lives, so she plans on trying to take a week or two to really explore the area. She’d also love to head up to the Dolomites where a friend of hers lives near and is always telling her about all the amazing restaurants she goes to, so Toni wants to try these for herself.

Michele Frolla

Having lived in Rome for three years, Michele is fascinated by ancient Roman roads like Via Appia Antica (the Appian Way), which connected Rome to Brindisi in southeastern Italy in Puglia, and also Via Flaminia (the Flaminian Way), which connected Rome to Rimini over the Apennine Mountains. In 2023 Michele is dreaming of visiting Via Aemilia, considered the noblest of Italy’s ancient roads – in the northern region of Emilia Romagna . For more than 2000 years, this road has connected several important cities, originally starting with Piacenza and leading down to Rimini on the Adriatic coast. Over time though, more colonies and towns sprung up on this road, including Modena, which is the birthplace of Pavarotti, the home of Modena Balsamic Vinegar, as well as home to many leading Italian car manufacturers, such as Maserati and Lamborghini. There’s also Parma, the home to Prosciutto di Parma and Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, and smaller towns such as Reggio Emilia, Cesena, and Imola. Visiting Via Aemilia makes for an amazing road trip, either by car or using Italy’s extensive rail network. Many years ago, Michele visited some of these towns by train, but in 2023, she’d love to travel this ancient Roman road again, more extensively and take the time to get to know each town and learn more about its history, culture, cuisine, and their local dialects, which as a language expert, she loves learning about.

Corinna Cooke

Corinna is the author of the Glam Italia guides and runs Glam Italia Tours – boutique tours to Italy for women.

Corinna is looking forward to spending lots of time in Italy with her tours in 2023 and also to spending some me time in between the tours in some of her favorite secret places in Italy. She is especially excited to return to Tuscany’s gorgeous Maremma. The Maremma has an exquisite stretch of coastline dotted with breathtaking little towns and villages overlooking the Tyrannian Sea. The beach towns here are ridiculously picturesque but made even more so by the vibrant turquoise sea. With endless blue flag beaches, stunning beach clubs, and never-ending private coves and swimming holes, it is an absolute paradise for beach lovers. Corinna is planning to stay in Porto Ercole again. This charming, colorful beach town is visually spectacular and has loads to offer. Caravaggio fans will know that this is the place he died when making his way back to Rome.

The entire area is full of Etruscan ruins, tombs, and ancient Roman ruins. The Maremma is also full of sensational medieval hilltop towns with castles, fortresses, watchtowers, and ancient city walls. You can spend hours exploring every alleyway and lane, walking the walls, and climbing the towers for a 360-degree view out over the vineyards and the olive groves. In doing so, you get to burn off the calories you consumed while enjoying local handmade pasta and sipping on Super-Tuscan wine (which is from the Maremma). Her favorite little towns are Capalbio, Montemerano, and Pitigliano which are all wonderful in their own right and only a short drive from Porto Ercole.

One of the fabulous things about Maremma is that the tour buses just don’t go there. This means you can explore this beautiful part of Tuscany without the crush of tourists getting in your way. It’s easy to get to – very close to the Civita Vecchia cruise ship port and only a 90-minute drive from Rome Fiumicino airport on a mostly empty motorway. If you’re planning a trip to Italy or dreaming about one, be sure to check out the Maremma.

More on Corinna:

Originally from New Zealand she fell in love with Italy thanks to a high school art history teacher who introduced her to Italian Renaissance art. After moving to London and traveling throughout Europe, she couldn’t stop returning to her beloved Italy.

Now living in Phoenix in the United States, Corinna is a woman of many skills. The high season in Puglia is generally from June to August, when the weather is warm and sunny, and many people take their summer holidays.

You must have a 6 month old passport to enter Puglia.

The currency used in this region is the Euro.

This will depend on your itinerary and personal preferences, however if you only plan to see the highlights of Puglia, a week will be enough.

Traveling to Puglia is completely safe. However, as in any trip to another part of the world, it is recommended to be cautious.

To book your trip to Puglia, you can contact one of Greca's sales representatives or contact us through our official page, completing the form for your site and date of interest.

The easiest way to get to Puglia is to buy a plane ticket from Bari International Airport, or from Naples Airport, which is a little further away.

One of the most beautiful places in Puglia is Polignano a Mare.
