tyler rich tour 2023

August 10, 2023

ABOUT TYLER RICH: Northern California-raised, Nashville-rooted Tyler Rich found his love of music gathered around a Christmas tree alongside family singing holiday classics and Creedence Clearwater Revival. Fast forward to graduating college with a degree in Economics, Tyler moved to LA to pursue a different game of numbers – music – exploring various genres with songwriting and bands before taking the leap as a solo artist. Since, Tyler has amassed nearly half a billion global streams to date and notched three No. 1 hits on SiriusXM’s The Highway with his debut album TWO THOUSAND MILES (The Valory Music Co.), featuring GOLD-certified “The Difference” plus subsequent releases “Better Than You’re Used To,” “A Little Bit of You” and “Trucks Don’t Lie.” In2022, Tyler joined forces with one of Canada’s most successful bilingual singer-songwriters, Marie-Mai for a duet on “Thinkin’ We’re In Love,” which serviced as the name of his headline tour. With his newly released I KNOW YOU DO EP, Tyler gives fans the best of both worlds fusing the spirit of youth with an easy-going buzz. Produced by The Cadillac Three’s Jaren Johnston, the three-track collection puts the many layers of the heartfelt singer/songwriter on full display. Tyler’s music embodies the feelings all people have in common – the need for acceptance, devotion and a place to call their own – and that empathetic spirit extends to animals too. With Rich Rescues, Tyler visits local shelters while out on the road to raise awareness for pet adoption. For a full list of tour dates and more, visit Tylerrich.com.

Tyler Gregory Okonma better known by his stage name Tyler, The Creator, is an American rapper and record producer from California.

Tyler showed an interest to music from an incredibly young age, at the age of seven, he would take the cover out of an album's case and create covers for his own imaginary albums including a track list with song times before he could even make music. At fourteen, he taught himself to play the piano and music became a constant in his ever changing home life, he attended twelve different schools over his twelve year education.

On December 25, 2009, Tyler self released his first album entitled 'Bastard' which went on to receive rave reviews from critics, including Pitchfork Media who placed it at #32 on their top 100 albums of the year list. He followed this up with 'Goblin' which secured him a one album deal with XL Recordings. His next album 'Wolf' was released in 2013 and was produced solely by Tyler, featuring guest appearances from Frank Ocean, Mike G, Domo Genesis, Earl Sweatshirt, Left Brain and Hodgy Beats.

Tyler has found himself at the centre of negative media attention for his use of homophobic slurs, frequently the use of the epithet faggot in his lyrics and on social media. He personally denied the accusations of homophobia, stating, "I'm not homophobic. I just say faggot and use gay as an adjective to describe stupid shit," and, "I'm not homophobic. I just think faggot hits and hurts people". He appears to understand very little of the impact of his derogatory use of language. However Tyler, The Creator was the first to openly show support for fellow Odd Future member Frank Ocean after he revealed he had a relationship with another younger man. The young rapper has managed to collect a number of nominations at the MTV Music Video Awards, along with acclaim for his solo discography and work within Odd Future despite numerous controversies surrounding his lyrical content.

Live reviews

I have been a fan of Tyler for a long time, as well as the whole group of OFWGKTA, and seeing him live was something I had on my bucket list. I went in with high expectations for his show, already knowing of how much energy and enthusiasm he puts into his live performances. What I got at The Forum went above and beyond anything I could have hoped for. The crowd was amazing, knowing every song and shouting and yelling along with unrivaled amounts of energy. Tyler was just as, or even more, energetic and knew how to work the crowd perfectly by interaction, be it between moments talking about random things or talking about his music and singing. I was blown away by the fact that at least twice he called to stop the song just to start it again because he loved how into it the crowd was and wanted to see it again. Of course we, the crowd, loved it and drained our lungs out with every lyric. I've seen the Arctic Monkeys, Sleigh Bells, Banks, Pendulum, Wolf Alice and others and can honestly say Tyler was the best overall. Everyone exited the venue with shirts soaked in sweat and with cracking voices, with grins on their face from having experienced something they'd never forget. If you like Tyler, or by extension OFWGKTA, you have to see him live if you get the opportunity, you can never anticipate how godly his live performances will be. I will definitely be waiting for his next visit to see him again.

The show started almost on time with a short DJ warm up by Taco and quickly two other Odd Future boys - Tyler himself and Jasper Dolphin - entered the stage. Tyler performed both old and new songs, mostly his upbeat hits and in between songs he'd converse with the crowd in his own down to earth way. Tyler is an amazing performer, he knows when the crowd gets too hot and needs a break or when we need a little bit more jumping to liven up the mood. The concert was intimate despite it being sold out because of Tylers genuine and unique personality and he almost makes it sound like he's speaking to a bunch of friends rather than a bunch of sweaty fans. The concert lasted for about an hour and a half. I was front row on the ground and it was wild at times and very crowded, so if that's something you do not like; go to the balconies instead (the people I was with chose to do that and says it is more calm) because with an audience mostly consisting of semi-drunk teenage boys, it is bound to go a bit crazy at times. But as I mentioned, Tyler and the two other boys were very aware of how we as an audience were feeling and you felt safe. To sum it up, it was a very intimate and very much how you would expect it to be, if you have followed Tyler as a fan for a while concert and definitely in my top best concerts ever. A must for fans of him and OFWGKTA.

To be quite honest, I am not the most hardcore fan of Yellowcard and I only know a few of their earlier songs. Regardless of that, however, I actually had quite a lot of fun at their gig at Fuji Rock Festival 2013 last summer. I think their strong fan base all over the world and how they can really rally up a crowd is one aspect that makes this band so fun to watch live. The fans really get wild and stay wild for the entire concert as soon as the band walks on the stage. The crowd just crowd surf each other and go absolutely nuts and it's an entertaining sight! The bands music is extremely loud and you can hear it throughout the entire venue and I feel that Yellowcard represents a lot of what rock is about nowadays. It's about making music that allows for everybody Iistening to come together and enjoy the music and the festival vibe and I think Yellowcard did a good job of that in my opinion despite not knowing much about them! Yellowcard is definitely a great concert for those who want to go apeshit with the influence of rock!

The doors opened at 20:30.

The timetable said the show will start at 22:00 but taco's set started at 22:00.

The bass and sound setup was good and wasn't to hard.

When Tyler came on stage, Everybody went crazy. There where moshpits the hole show.

The biggest moshpit was at the last song Cherry Bomb.

Tyler did it pretty good on stage. Sometimes he had to take a break because his astma. But Taco and Jasper continued the song if that happened.

Me and my friend visited the movie he organised in the afternoon so we got priority for the show. This was good because it wasn't that busy at the merchandise store . When the other people came in, I'm sure I couldn't get the Cherry Bomb 6 panel. After the show they sold out.

Because the delay of the show we missed our last train so we spend our night at the station. Maybe thats a tip for the next time. Do the show a bit earlier!

But after all it was amazing!

Amazing experience... Taco was an amazing DJ doing a great job of hyping the crowd up. Then Vince came out and killed it just a great set. the stage design was like no other the rotating screens were really cool and it was nice that they put timers up so we knew when Vince would come out. Tyler's performance was just amazing he performed for 2 1/2 hours and he really is a great performer, he performed both old and new songs there wasn't a favorite of mine that he missed. The stage design was so cool with a huge tree for Tyler to stand on. Tyler really cares about his fans he sang happy birthday to this one dude which was so sick. The show was sold out so 2,400 people were all singing the words to his songs which was just amazing the best concert experience I have ever had I have to go see him live again.

Okay, so straight up, the venue kinda sucked. Tyler was playing The Forum, in London. The venue itself was pretty decent, big floor space and actually a decent amount of room. The security were pretty cool too. Only problem is, before Tyler goes on, they turn off the fans keeping the place cool, so for the next two hours, it is boiling, like people are walking around soaked in sweat. BUT TYLER was amazing. The videos on Youtube and junk do him no justice, he was awesome. Taco came on and DJ'd to get everyone hyped which was awesome. Tyler was talking to the crowd and it was wild. He played all his decent songs, playing stuff from all three albums, and everyone fucking loved it. The crowd were sick too, everyone in GOLF shit, 10/10 performance. (Wish he had played Sandwitches though)

Man Oh Man is Tyler AWESOME OR WHAT? I can honestly say that Tyler fans are the most energetic fans I've ever seen, me included haha. I've never been in a mosh pit that was this crazy before, and I loved every second of it. You will not regret going to see Tyler because he is just that awesome. This was my first time seeing him in concert and I was super happy at how approachable and funny he was. He knows how to work the crowd and how to get literally every last person on their feet and stomping the roof off of the building. I can’t wait until he come the SF again. Tyler I’m waiting for you!!

P.S - HE BROUGHT TACO AND JASPER!!!!!

I loved every min of his performance.. I loved and appreciated the re-verb of ''tell these black kids they can be who they are'' means so much to us. And I know this isn't his favorite album and It didn't come out as this ''star studded'' album. But there's no one couldn't have said it better than Tyler at this time. So I want to thank him for that. Maybe he will finally be able to score a movie that would be so !!!!

From a guy who’s grown up with Tyler and used his music to get through rough patches and hard times after waiting 8 years to see him live, I can honestly say it was the greatest thing I’ve ever experienced. I’ve never been happier in life than I was that night, stood from my seat the entire time and went word for word with Tyler himself to all the songs he performed Is something I could only dream of. I plan on going every year for as long as he continue touring from now on.

Rex Orange County opened with dope beach vibes then later joined in on "Boredom". After Rex finished, Tyler carried the show alone reflecting the energy of the whole crowd. He is a lightening storm on stage. He said that one of his goals on this tour is to see the crowd dance and his beats strongly reflect that sentiment. If you find yourself lucky at one of his shows, do yourself a favor; wear sneakers and don't bring your drink into the mosh pit, you're in for a treat.

Bradish (Tommy John surgery) out for year; Coulombe may return in Sept.

Jake Rill

NEW YORK -- For the third time in 17 days, an Orioles starting pitcher underwent a procedure on his ulnar collateral ligament. The latest to do so marked the biggest blow to the rotation yet.

On Wednesday evening at Yankee Stadium, general manager Mike Elias announced that right-hander Kyle Bradish underwent Tommy John surgery earlier in the day. The 27-year-old, who finished fourth in American League Cy Young Award voting last year and has been a front-line starter for Baltimore, is out for the season.

tyler rich tour 2023

The O’s rotation had already lost left-hander John Means (who underwent his second Tommy John surgery on June 3) and righty Tyler Wells (who had UCL revision surgery with an internal brace augmentation on Monday).

Bradish’s Tommy John surgery was performed by Dr. Keith Meister in Arlington, Texas, and he also had an internal brace put in -- the same type of hybrid procedure that Rangers ace Jacob deGrom underwent last June. Bradish isn’t likely to return until the second half of 2025.

“Kyle, enormous talent, enormous part of the team. This is a huge blow. This guy is really a tough hombre,” Elias said. “He gave us everything he had, and we’re going to miss him.”

Elias delivered other injury news as well, announcing that Baltimore’s bullpen will be without its top left-hander for likely several months. Danny Coulombe underwent surgery to remove bone chips from his left elbow on Tuesday -- the operation being performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache in Los Angeles -- but the 34-year-old is expected to return in September.

In the interim, the Orioles’ relief corps will try to make up for the loss of Coulombe, who had a 2.42 ERA and a 0.62 WHIP over 29 appearances this season.

Baltimore’s rotation will try to withstand Bradish’s absence for much longer, as it already had to do earlier in the year.

After recording a 2.83 ERA in 30 starts during his 2023 breakout campaign, Bradish sustained a UCL sprain in January, when he then received a platelet-rich plasma injection. The righty missed all of Spring Training and opened the ‘24 season on the injured list.

Bradish rejoined the Orioles’ staff in May and immediately returned to form, pitching to a 2.75 ERA over eight starts. He tossed seven hitless innings vs. the White Sox in Chicago on May 26 and dazzled for six scoreless frames of one-hit ball vs. the Rays in St. Petersburg on June 8.

“Kyle Bradish is an absolute warrior, and he probably didn’t let on what he was pitching through, honestly, because he loves to compete,” manager Brandon Hyde. “He wants the ball. He does not want to come out of the game. He’s just a fierce, fierce competitor, and he’s as tough as any player that I’ve had.”

However, Bradish couldn’t make it through his start vs. the Phillies last Friday, when he exited after throwing 74 pitches in five innings due to elbow discomfort. He underwent testing, which showed that Tommy John surgery would be the necessary course of action.

“Definitely not a shortcoming of his, it just came to an end,” Elias said. “This guy, I think he would have kept pitching until his arm fell off if people let him. He did a hell of a job. He helped us win games, and we’re going to pick up the slack for him.”

The defending AL East champion O’s -- who were 47-25 and sitting 2 1/2 games behind the Yankees entering Wednesday night’s clash between the division rivals -- must move forward and find a way to continue their push toward October (and, ideally, a deep postseason run).

Baltimore’s 3.03 rotation ERA ranks third in MLB. Without Bradish, Means and Wells, here’s where that group stands:

1. RHP Corbin Burnes 2. RHP Grayson Rodriguez 3. LHP Cole Irvin 4. RHP Albert Suárez 5. LHP Cade Povich (O’s No. 9 prospect per MLB Pipeline)

Dean Kremer (right triceps strain) should return from the IL later this month, and fellow right-hander Chayce McDermott (Baltimore’s No. 8 prospect ) could get the call from Triple-A Norfolk for the first time at some point this summer.

Meanwhile, the Orioles’ 3.18 bullpen ERA also ranks third in the Majors, a feat they’ve accomplished without All-Star closer Félix Bautista ( out for the season following Tommy John surgery). Without Coulombe, more relievers will need to cover high-leverage spots alongside All-Star righty Yennier Cano and lefty Cionel Pérez.

tyler rich tour 2023

Considering how banged up Baltimore’s pitching staff has become, does Elias have a heightened sense of urgency to bring in reinforcements prior to the July 30 Trade Deadline?

“I’ve got a sense of urgency to win baseball games, and part of that is just taking care of the whole organization,” Elias said. “The Deadline is the Deadline, even before we have injuries. I think it would have been pretty naive to think that the injury number would be zero, especially with some of these guys coming into camp banged up. ...

“We’re looking at the whole picture when it comes to this Trade Deadline -- where our team’s at, what our health looks like, where we can upgrade, what the market looks like, which teams are selling, what are they asking for. It’s so complicated. It’s just kind of hard for me to make sweeping statements and opine about it, especially in June. But we have, what I think, is a really good, hard-working front office, and we’re going to do our job.”

Rich named Strength and Conditioning, Athletic Performance for Men’s Basketball

Darby Rich brings 21 years of sports performance coaching experience and has helped develop 15 NBA players.

AUSTIN, Texas — Darby Rich has been named Strength and Conditioning, Athletic Performance for the Men's Basketball program at The University of Texas, Head Coach Rodney Terry announced Wednesday. Rich brings 21 years of sports performance coaching experience and 27 overall years of service in collegiate athletics to the Texas staff. During his coaching career, he has helped lead 10 teams to the NCAA Tournament and developed 15 NBA players.

Prior to coming to Austin, Rich spent last year as Men's Basketball Strength and Conditioning Coach at the University of Memphis with head coach Penny Hardaway. The Tigers posted a 22-10 overall record, including an 11-7 mark in the American Athletic Conference during the 2023-24 season.

Rich worked for two years (2021-23) as the Men's Basketball Strength and Conditioning Coach at Texas Tech University. The Red Raiders registered a 27-10 overall mark, including a 12-6 record in the Big 12 Conference (third place) and advanced to the NCAA Tournament Round of 16 during the 2021-22 season. Texas Tech went 18-0 at home for the first time in program history in the regular season, finished at No. 12 in both the final AP and USA TODAY Coaches' polls, and ranked No. 1 nationally in KenPom defensive efficiency.

Prior to his time in Lubbock, Rich spent two years (2019-21) as the Men's Basketball Strength and Conditioning Coach at Memphis with Coach Hardaway. The Tigers recorded back-to-back 20-win seasons and won the 2021 NIT Championship. Memphis tallied a 21-10 overall record in 2019-20 prior to the postseason being canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Precious Achiuwa earned AAC Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year honors in 2020. James Wiseman was the No. 2 selection by the Golden State Warriors and Achiuwa was the No. 20 pick by the Miami Heat in the 2020 NBA Draft. The Tigers registered a 20-8 overall mark (11-4 AAC) and claimed the NIT Championship in 2020-21, and Moussa Cisse was named the AAC Freshman of the Year. Memphis ranked No. 1 nationally in KenPom defensive efficiency during the 2020-21 season.

He worked for one-and-a-half years (2001-02) as a strength and conditioning intern with the NFL's Dallas Cowboys, working under legendary strength coach Joe Jurazsek. Rich spent three seasons (1998-2001) as an assistant coach at Sam Houston State. The Bearkats posted a 22-7 record in 1999-2000, winning the Southland Conference regular season title for the first time in program history and setting the school's Division I record for most wins in a season.

Rich began his collegiate coaching career by working for four years (1993-97) as an assistant coach at Hutchinson (Kan.) Community College. In addition to his assistant coaching duties, he also served as the school's strength and conditioning coach. Hutchinson registered an overall record of 118-24 (.831) during Rich's four seasons with the Blue Dragons. Rich was hired by then-Hutchinson head coach and current Texas assistant coach Steve McClain . In the 1993-94 season, Rich and McClain led the Blue Dragons to a 35-4 overall record and the NJCAA National Championship.

During his undergraduate career, Rich played five seasons (1987-92) at the University of Alabama. He helped the Crimson Tide make four NCAA Tournament appearances (1989, 1990, 1991 and 1992), including back-to-back Sweet 16 trips in 1990 and 1991. Rich serves as a team tri-captain during his senior year in 1991-92 and was collegiate teammates with future NBA stars Robert Horry (1988-92) and Latrell Sprewell (1990-92).

A native of Greer, S.C., Rich is a 1992 graduate of the University of Alabama with a degree in criminal justice. He was an all-state basketball player at Riverside High School. Rich and his wife, Jennifer, have two sons, Case and Cannon.

During the recently completed 2023-24 season, Texas posted a 21-13 overall record and advanced to the NCAA Tournament Round of 32. With their victory over Colorado State in the NCAA Round of 64, the Longhorns won their NCAA First Round game for the third consecutive season. This marked the first time Texas has accomplished the feat since UT won four-straight NCAA First-Round games from 2006-09. The Longhorns are one of just eight programs in Division I men's basketball to advance to at least the NCAA Tournament Round of 32 in each of the last three seasons, joining Baylor, Creighton, Gonzaga, Houston, Kansas, Michigan State and Tennessee.
