Our 12 Favorite Yeti Products for 2024

Here's what we really think about Yeti's $25 koozie, $450 wheeled cooler, and everything in between.

I’ll admit to being a Yeti neophyte. Sure, I’ve been aware of the brand. Yeti gear seems ubiquitous on boats, kayaks, and stand-up paddleboards here in Florida. I simply hadn’t come in contact with its products until recently when I tried out Yeti’s French press in both sizes and its 16-ounce Stackable Mugs . Now I can say the insulation lives up to the hype. I frequently leave a mug of ice water baking in the 90°F-plus heat in my truck when I run inside a store, only to come back and find the ice hasn’t melted and my water is still cold. I’m becoming a fan.

Yeti has a broad selection of coolers, drinkware, and bags — and a reputation for high prices. Do they all live up to expectations? Do they justify the cost? For as many coolers and water bottles as we’ve tested, Yeti comes out at or near the top again and again. Here, we’re compiling 12 Yeti products we’ve vetted, reporting the good and the bad so you can decide for yourself.

YETI French Press Coffee Maker

I’ve always sat on the fence about French presses. Sure, they make great coffee, but they bring some baggage. First, there’s a capacity issue. A French press is almost the personal-sized pizza of the coffee world, making two mortal-sized cups, maybe three smaller ones. They’re not great for more than two people. Second, glass French presses lose heat quickly, and third, the coffee turns bitter after a short time from continued extraction from the beans as the coffee sits. 

Yeti’s French press addresses all three issues at once. The 34-ounce capacity makes enough realistically-sized cups of coffee that two people can get two cups each without needing a second batch. The double-wall vacuum insulation, paired with the ceramic-lined interior, keeps coffee hot long enough for you to enjoy a second cup before it cools, even if that’s a few hours later. Yeti also solves the conundrum of having hot coffee over-extract the beans via a new plunger design it calls GroundsControl, which separates grounds from liquid, staving off bitterness. It’s available in a variety of colors to match your kitchen mood.

YETI Rambler 26 oz Bottle with Chug Cap

The 26-ounce Rambler bottle is an upgrade replacement to an earlier 24-ounce bottle, with a chug spout for easy hydration. It’s not an inexpensive bottle; it’s one of the more expensive insulated bottles we've tested , but the cold or heat retention, which kept water cold for six hours, is noteworthy. The Rambler is durable, handling drop tests without discernible damage or leaks, and it didn’t spill. The chug cap isn’t for use with hot liquids, which takes points off for versatility. But the durability and temperature retention offset that.

YETI Tumbler with Handle and Straw Lid

Yeti isn’t solely an outdoor lifestyle brand, and this large-capacity mug will serve you in your day-to-day with no adventure required. The mug holds 42 ounces of liquid and ice, which held its form for eight hours without melting (Yeti claims 12 hours without melting, but eight was the upper limit of our testing ). Given the large capacity and wide handle, it’s safe to say the Straw Mug is bulky, but it’s also tapered at the bottom to fit most car cup holders. The 42-ounce model is an upgrade from Yeti’s previously largest model, which had a few issues, like a small handle and a top-heavy design. Be warned: the straw top is only for cold beverages, and you’ll need to purchase a MagSlider lid separately for hot drinks.

YETI Rambler 20 oz Tumbler

The 20-ounce Rambler tumbler is a strong choice for those who take their coffee large and mobile. The twist-on lid and MagSlider contain most leaks, but it dripped when we turned it upside down, so we can’t call it leakproof. The Rambler fits perfectly into car cup holders, so there’s no need to position it awkwardly between your legs while driving. One of our favorite travel coffee mugs , it keeps coffee hot for hours, and it kept iced drinks below 40°F for about 10 hours in our tests. We found it can withstand falls and dings without denting or marring the finish.

Yeti Rambler 12-Ounce Colster Can Insulator

Consider this stainless steel koozie a major upgrade from obsolete styrofoam or nylon. The Colster has the same double-wall insulation Yeti uses in its water bottles and cups to keep cold drinks at their proper temperature for hours. The insulation also eliminates condensation, so unlike fabric koozies, the Colster will never get soaked in an afternoon. To use the Colster, drop the can inside the body, slide a locking gasket over the top, and give it a quarter turn to lock everything in place. For non-alcoholic beverages, the Colster fits in most car cup holders, and we haven’t had issues with them cracking or chipping in our long-term testing.

Yeti Hopper Flip

Before we get into the luxury cars, SUVs, and giant pickups that are Yeti’s hard-sided coolers, we should stop and look at the mid-sized economy car equivalents. These coolers are excellent but may be more heavy-duty than you want. We love the Hopper Flip 12 for a couple of people to use for a picnic or even grocery shopping, should you need to keep perishable food cool in the summer heat. The closed-cell rubber foam insulation will keep food or drinks cold for hours. The Flip 12 will hold 24 12-ounce cans, about 15 pounds of ice, or a combination. It’s got a padded shoulder strap for carrying and a zipper closure that alleviates fears of leaking. 

Yeti Soft Backpack Cooler

I hike a bit and like the idea of bringing cold beverages and food along, but two words fill me with trepidation when paired together: backpack and cooler. Light objects become heavy when you put them on your back and walk a few miles, so lugging a cooler filled with drinks (each quart of water weighs two pounds) can get uncomfortable after a couple of miles, as one editor found .

The M20 has wide, padded straps that ease some of the pressure on your shoulders (a padded belt would be even better for long hauls), and the cooler has a capacity of 36 12-ounce cans or 22 pounds of ice — though I wouldn’t recommend carrying either of those far. Gripes about my back aside, the cooler is exceptionally well-insulated. We saw ice just beginning to melt after seven hours in a car parked in the 90°F-plus sun. The magnetic closure refuses to leak, even when we held the cooler upside down. The buckles that secure the lid can be annoying to open and re-close, but the insulating performance and lack of leaks outweigh that minor grievance.

YETI Tundra 65 Cooler

It’s now time to look at the full-sized vehicle offerings of Yeti’s cooler lines. The Tundra 65 can hold 77 cans or 55 pounds of ice, which you can, and should, mix and match. The lid and latches form a freezer-quality seal and, combined with superior insulation, keep food and drinks cold for at least a weekend. In our tests , we saw half our ice melt after 24 hours, but the temperature inside the cooler only rose by 2.2°F, which gives us full confidence in the insulating power.

It’s a big cooler, and Yeti recommends two people to move it. The Tundra can also do double duty as a seat, table, or casting platform. Unfortunately, the Tundra doesn’t share the extreme durability of its outside finish as Yeti’s drink offerings do, and it got a little scuffed during our drop testing. But this cooler is a workhorse, not a show pony, and that scuffing doesn’t detract too much from the overall rating.

YETI Roadie 60 Wheeled Cooler

The Roadie 60 is designed for movement, with a well-thought design, rugged wheels, telescoping handle, molded lip handles, and tie-down points for boats, trucks, or trailers. With all that, it’s still got a higher carrying capacity than the Tundra 65, at 98 cans or 70 pounds of ice, although it isn’t bear-proof like the flagship. Yeti suggests "priming" its coolers by pre-cooling them with ice before loading them, but to keep an even playing field when testing it against competitors, we forewent that step and still had plenty of ice after 24 hours. The easy-access, screw-in drain plug made emptying the cooler and cleaning it exceptionally easy, and the non-skid bottom helps with stability to offset its tall profile.

Yeti Tundra Haul Cooler

The Tundra Haul garnered our Most Durable rating from our wheeled cooler tests . The Haul features puncture and impact-resistant tires, a sturdy aluminum telescoping handle, comfortable molded grips, and bear-proof when locked per instructions. These features don’t come at the expense of performance or capacity. We found our ice still completely frozen after 24 hours, and this cooler handles 82 cans without ice. Finally, the cooler has the same single-piece design as the one used in a kayak building, and the drain plug allows you to empty the Haul without tipping it over.

Yeti Camino 35 Carryall with Internal Dividers

One wouldn’t expect a company that puts so much time into refining insulation for coolers and drinks to veer outside the lines, but the Camino Carryall is a non-insulated tote bag worth looking at. The 35 translates to a 35-liter capacity, enough to carry everything you need for a picnic without being bulky. The design includes dividers to secure wine or bottles, a small zippered pocket for extraneous items, a shoulder strap, and carrying straps. While not insulated, the bag is as rugged as any Yeti item, standing up to dog chewing during our testing. The Camino Carryall is also waterproof and easy to clean.

Yeti Rambler Beverage Bucket

Given the rest of Yeti’s offerings, you have to expect the Rambler Beverage Bucket to be that much extra, too. An ice bucket is any bucket with ice, right? Yes, but most aren’t insulated well, if at all, and on hot days, you’ll soon be trying to chill your drinks in melted ice. The Rambler bucket has the same double-walled insulation and stainless steel construction as Yeti’s drinkware (it even closely resembles a giant version of Yeti’s lowball tumblers .) The bucket has a two-gallon capacity, translating to six cans or three wine bottles plus the ice to chill them. But the bucket isn’t limited to chilling drinks; the comfortable handle and lid make this a good choice for serving ice for drinks without the majority melting away halfway through the gathering.

All the drinkware we tested and listed here is dishwasher safe. Yeti recommends the top rack for machine washing lids and the silverware rack for gaskets to keep everything secure during the wash cycle.

Yeti uses a small amount of fully encapsulated lead to seal a layer of insulation. The lead never comes in contact with drinks, and Yeti frequently uses third-party testing to test for the presence of lead, with no detection.

Two primary factors contribute to the price. The first is the coolers' construction, which provides excellent strength and durability, and some models are strong enough to withstand bears. The second is the insulation and closure systems that work in tandem to keep your cooler cold for extended periods without adding more ice. The Ember Tumbler is a cool, high-tech travel mug — but it can’t handle the heat

My coffee routine is needlessly fussy but fairly predictable. I wander bleary-eyed into the kitchen, add some water to the kettle, and start heating it to 200 degrees Fahrenheit, grind some coffee beans, get out the Chemex, add and rinse a new filter, put the whole thing on a scale, add 40 grams of beans, slowly pour in 600 milliliters of hot water, pour it into my trusty silver Yeti Rambler, and pad into the living room to either play with my son or look at TikTok on my phone. It’s a life, you know?

For the last few weeks, the Ember Tumbler has wormed its way into that routine. The $199 Tumbler is Ember’s newest product but carries the same promise as the company’s popular mugs: it can keep your drink at the exact temperature you want for hours at a time. Its internal heating system will, by default, hold your drinks at 135 degrees Fahrenheit, but if you pair it via Bluetooth to your phone, you can use the Ember app to dial it exactly the way you like it.

The Ember Mug was a fixture in my life for a long time, even though two things about it drove me nuts. It could only hold 10 ounces of liquid — objectively not enough, thankfully there’s a 14-ounce model now — and it was a standard mug with a handle, so I couldn’t take it with me on the train or in the car. (Ember’s first-ever product was actually a travel mug, but it also only held 10 ounces. What are we doing here, people?)

The Tumbler, in theory, solves all my problems! It holds 16 ounces (about 473ml) of liquid, which is a much better number. It also comes with two lids: one with a sliding piece that you can click open and drink out of and one with a handle that closes the mug off entirely. Its battery lasts three hours, which should be plenty of time to finish your coffee or tea. On paper, the Tumbler is everything I’ve wanted it to be.

In reality, it’s a little more complicated than that. For my specific use case, which now involves working from home instead of commuting to an office, it is in fact everything I wanted. The Tumbler is a delightful thing to drink coffee out of every morning. It’s heavy in a good way, like you’re holding a luxury object instead of just a mug; it’s nice to drink out of with the lid both on and off. In the mornings, I bring the Tumbler down to my basement office, set it on the included round charging pad, and my coffee’s hot for hours. Lovely!

As a travel mug, though — like, for people who actually go outside from time to time — the Tumbler is disappointing. I noticed a few times that when I wasn’t keeping it on the charging pad, my coffee seemed to get cold even faster than with my usual travel mug. So I did some testing, comparing the battery-charged Tumbler to my batteryless but well-insulated Yeti Rambler . (There are a lot of good insulated travel mugs out there; this one’s just my go-to.)

First, I poured boiling-ish water into both mugs, and about 60 seconds later (the time it took to find a thermometer), I measured the temperature in both. This was our control number.

• Rambler start temperature: 205.9 degrees Fahrenheit
• Tumbler start temperature: 204.6 degrees Fahrenheit

Then I put the lids on both mugs, closed them, and left them alone for an hour. This is the “I made coffee and then something came up” test. Then I measured their temperatures again.

• Rambler after one hour: 180.7 degrees Fahrenheit
• Tumbler after one hour: 149.4 degrees Fahrenheit

Pros and cons here. The Rambler does a better job of holding its heat, but the Tumbler’s job is to let my drink cool to its ideal drinking temperature — you can set whatever temperature you want in the Ember app for your phone, but it defaults to 135 degrees Fahrenheit, which science (Ember’s app) apparently says is the ideal coffee drinking temperature, and then uses its internal heaters to hold it there. So the rapid decline isn’t necessarily the sign of a problem yet.

Next, I slid open each lid’s mouthpiece and left them out for another hour. This is the “early morning meeting” test.

• Rambler after two hours: 162.7 degrees Fahrenheit
• Tumbler after two hours: 139.2 degrees Fahrenheit

Same deal! The double-insulated Rambler continues to hold its heat, but the Tumbler is at a perfect drinking temperature after two hours. Everybody wins.

For the third hour, I upped the ante. With lids on and mouthpieces open, I stuck both mugs out in the windy 40 degree Fahrenheit elements of my morning. This is the “warm drink on a cold day” test.

• Rambler after three hours: 144.1 degrees Fahrenheit
• Tumbler after three hours: 135.1 degrees Fahrenheit

Once again, I’m calling this a double victory. Both are losing temperature — these are tough conditions! — but are still doing their jobs, and the Tumbler is still in its sweet spot. After three hours, both my beverages are still very drinkable.

I brought both mugs inside, slid their mouthpieces closed, and left them for another hour. This is the “maybe this just became my afternoon coffee instead” test.

• Rambler after four hours: 135.0 degrees Fahrenheit
• Tumbler after four hours: 113.7 degrees Fahrenheit

For the first time, we have a too-cold beverage, and it’s the Tumbler. The battery died right at the end of hour three, as advertised, and now, with no heater and not much insulation, it’s starting to lose temperature quickly. Meanwhile, the Rambler is still hanging on.

My last test was to leave them overnight, which is not exactly a real-world use case, but hey, I’d already poured all the water. I call this the “I left it out overnight” test. 

• Rambler after 12 hours: 99.0 degrees Fahrenheit
• Tumbler after 12 hours: 76.5 degrees Fahrenheit

Obviously, both are undrinkable here, but once again, the Rambler is doing a noticeably better job of keeping my drink warmer. The Tumbler is, for all intents and purposes, at room temperature.

These tests confirmed two things to me. First: the Tumbler does a good job of getting your drink to the right temperature quickly and keeping it there for a few hours. Score one for the fancy mug! But second: if my goal is to keep my coffee hot and drinkable (sometimes too hot!) as long as possible, Yeti’s mug is clearly the better choice. 

The comedian Brian Regan has a great bit where he’s walking around an appliance store shopping for a refrigerator. “This keeps all your food cold for $600,” the salesman says to him. “You’ve got this refrigerator, keeps all your food cold for $800.” Then the salesman walks to the next one, drapes his arm over it, and starts the sales pitch: “Check this out: $1,400, keeps all your food cold .”

That’s how I feel about the Ember Tumbler. It does the job, which in this case, is to keep all my drinks warm. But Yeti’s 16-ounce Rambler costs $30, compared to $200 for the Tumbler, and it actually keeps my coffee above the too-cold level for longer. And if I need it to cool down faster, I can just take off the lid or throw in an ice cube. I’m much more interested in keeping my drink hot than in cooling it down faster.

If you spend most of your time like I do, shuffling from kitchen to basement with the charging pad never more than a room away, the Tumbler works great — when I leave it on the pad, my coffee is at or close to that magic 135 degree Fahrenheit temperature all day. It’s a great mug, albeit a ludicrously expensive one given that my microwave is just upstairs. But when I leave the house, I’m taking the Rambler. Thirty bucks, keeps all my drinks warm.

Hands up if you’re ready to be dazzled! From a ceremony structure designed to float on water to a jaw-dropping reception room with flowers blooming from every service, we’re swooning over every bit of this wedding. If you can believe it, that’s just the beginning. Julia Kaptelova artfully shot every detail, like the ballet performance guests were treated to and snow falling from the ceiling for the first dance! From About You Decor … Our design is a symbol of dawn and a distant endless horizon. Ahead is a long, happy life without any borders. An international couple, Pavel and Cherry, met in London and have been walking together for many years.

From the Bride, Cherry… My husband and I we decided to have our summer wedding in Moscow because the city is where his roots are. As we knew we were going to have the other wedding ceremony in China, we wanted our Moscow one to be very personal and intimate. We’ve known each other since we were fourteen, together with many of our friends whom we’ve also known for a decade.

I didn’t want to walk down the aisle twice so the plausibility of my request quickly came into discussion. The open pontoon stage was constructed in order to facilitate the bridal entrance on water, although there were concerns about safety as the last thing we wanted was probably a drowned bride before she could get on stage, picture that! I have to say on that day it wasn’t easy to get on the pontoon stage from the boat, in my long gown and high heels. Luckily my bridesmaids still noticed even though they stood the furthest from me on the stage, and helped me out without prior rehearsal. My girls could just tell whenever I needed a hand or maybe they were just so used to my clumsiness. Who knows 😂

We all love our photographer Julia! She’s so talented and her style is so unique. Our beloved host Alex is exceptional who made everyone laugh and cry. It was truly a blessing to have so many kind and beautiful souls on our big day. Thank you all!

From Sonya Khegay … It was the last day of April and still very cold in the morning. The weather forecast wasn’t pleasing and no one expected that the sun would come out, but miracles happen and light rain gave way to the warm rays.

I love how all the details went together, you could feel the harmony in everything throughout the entire wedding day from the morning until the fireworks.

A gentle look of the bride, elegant but so airy and unique decor, the fresh and light atmosphere of early spring and, of course, true happiness in the eyes. My heart becomes so warm from these memories, it is always a pleasure to see the birth of a new family of two loving hearts.

You really can’t go wrong with simple: a beautiful Bride , perfectly pretty petals , loved ones all around. But add in an amazing firework show  to cap off the night and simple just became downright extraordinary. Captured by Lena Elisseva , with assistance by  Katya Butenko , this rustic Russian celebration is simply fantastic. From Lena Eliseeva Photo …  This cozy and warm summer wedding of gorgeous Natalia and Anton was in the middle of June. The young couple decided to organize their wedding themselves, and the day was very personal and touching. I am absolutely in love with rustic outdoor weddings, and this one is my favourite because of the free and easy atmosphere.

All the decor excluding the bride’s bouquet was made by a team of ten friends of the bride and groom. And it was charming – a light and beautiful arch, eco-style polygraphy and succulents, candy-bar with caramel apples and berries – sweet joys of summer.

At the end of ceremony the guests tossed up white handkerchiefs embroidered by Natalia’s own hands.

The most touching moment was the happy eyes of the groom’s grandmother, the most estimable person on the wedding. And the fireworks were a bright end to that beautiful day.

From Lena Kozhina … When we met with the couple for the first time, we immediately paid attention to Dima’s behavior towards Julia. There was a feeling of tenderness and awe, and we immediately wanted to recreate this atmosphere of love, care and warmth on their Big Day.

Later, when we had chosen a green meadow and an uncovered pavilion overlooking a lake as the project site, it only highlighted a light summer mood with colorful florals and a great number of natural woods. The name of the site is Fox Lodge and peach-orange color, as one of the Bride’s favorites, set the tone for the whole design – from the invitations, in which we used images of fox cubs to elements of serving guest tables and other decorative elements with the corresponding bright accents.

Savvino-storozhevsky monastery and museum.

Zvenigorod's most famous sight is the Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery, which was founded in 1398 by the monk Savva from the Troitse-Sergieva Lavra, at the invitation and with the support of Prince Yury Dmitrievich of Zvenigorod. Savva was later canonised as St Sabbas (Savva) of Storozhev. The monastery late flourished under the reign of Tsar Alexis, who chose the monastery as his family church and often went on pilgrimage there and made lots of donations to it. Most of the monastery’s buildings date from this time. The monastery is heavily fortified with thick walls and six towers, the most impressive of which is the Krasny Tower which also serves as the eastern entrance. The monastery was closed in 1918 and only reopened in 1995. In 1998 Patriarch Alexius II took part in a service to return the relics of St Sabbas to the monastery. Today the monastery has the status of a stauropegic monastery, which is second in status to a lavra. In addition to being a working monastery, it also holds the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum.

Belfry and Neighbouring Churches

Located near the main entrance is the monastery's belfry which is perhaps the calling card of the monastery due to its uniqueness. It was built in the 1650s and the St Sergius of Radonezh’s Church was opened on the middle tier in the mid-17th century, although it was originally dedicated to the Trinity. The belfry's 35-tonne Great Bladgovestny Bell fell in 1941 and was only restored and returned in 2003. Attached to the belfry is a large refectory and the Transfiguration Church, both of which were built on the orders of Tsar Alexis in the 1650s.  

To the left of the belfry is another, smaller, refectory which is attached to the Trinity Gate-Church, which was also constructed in the 1650s on the orders of Tsar Alexis who made it his own family church. The church is elaborately decorated with colourful trims and underneath the archway is a beautiful 19th century fresco.

Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is the oldest building in the monastery and among the oldest buildings in the Moscow Region. It was built between 1404 and 1405 during the lifetime of St Sabbas and using the funds of Prince Yury of Zvenigorod. The white-stone cathedral is a standard four-pillar design with a single golden dome. After the death of St Sabbas he was interred in the cathedral and a new altar dedicated to him was added.

Under the reign of Tsar Alexis the cathedral was decorated with frescoes by Stepan Ryazanets, some of which remain today. Tsar Alexis also presented the cathedral with a five-tier iconostasis, the top row of icons have been preserved.

Tsaritsa's Chambers

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is located between the Tsaritsa's Chambers of the left and the Palace of Tsar Alexis on the right. The Tsaritsa's Chambers were built in the mid-17th century for the wife of Tsar Alexey - Tsaritsa Maria Ilinichna Miloskavskaya. The design of the building is influenced by the ancient Russian architectural style. Is prettier than the Tsar's chambers opposite, being red in colour with elaborately decorated window frames and entrance.

At present the Tsaritsa's Chambers houses the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum. Among its displays is an accurate recreation of the interior of a noble lady's chambers including furniture, decorations and a decorated tiled oven, and an exhibition on the history of Zvenigorod and the monastery.

Palace of Tsar Alexis

The Palace of Tsar Alexis was built in the 1650s and is now one of the best surviving examples of non-religious architecture of that era. It was built especially for Tsar Alexis who often visited the monastery on religious pilgrimages. Its most striking feature is its pretty row of nine chimney spouts which resemble towers.

Negative longitude values correspond to the geographic locations west of the prime meridian (abbrev. W).

UTM or Universal Transverse Mercator coordinate system divides the Earth’s surface into 60 longitudinal zones. The coordinates of a location within each zone are defined as a planar coordinate pair related to the intersection of the equator and the zone’s central meridian, and measured in meters.

Elevation above sea level is a measure of a geographic location’s height. We are using the global digital elevation model GTOPO30 .
