A self-proclaimed time traveller from the year 2671 has taken to social media to warn that "very big things" will happen during December. In an effort to prove he is who he says he is, Eno Alric named four dates next month when notable events could occur.

The TikToker - known as 'theradianttimetraveler' - has posted a series of bizarre videos forecasting the future. His latest upload is captioned: "Yes, I am a real time traveller, remember these four dates in December 2022."

The 20-second video features foreboding music and pinpoints December 8, 12, 20 and 25 as dates when something will happen. The anonymous being added: "Very big things will happen on each of these dates, this will 100 per cent prove that I am a real time traveller."

He gave no indication as to what his viewers should prepare for, but repeated his warning from other recent videos: "Stay safe." His predictions were met with expected scepticism from commenters, with many teasing him over his failed predictions from last month.

Poking fun at the user, one person penned: "Yeah right! I still remember the four dates to remember in November." Echoing the same sentiment, someone else said: "You said ten people will receive super powers on November 14 and that didn't happen." While a third joked: "Guys I'm a time traveler from the future. Remember the date December 25 - it's a thing called Christmas."

Eno had said this month that humans would discover new planets, be struck by a tidal wave and be visited by aliens. He has 110,000 followers and has promised to reveal his identity once he reaches a million.

'Time traveller' reveals the exact date that World War 3 will start

'Time traveller' reveals the exact date that World War 3 will start

Self-described “ time travellers” on TikTok continue to fascinate social media users, and the latest viral account has made one of the boldest predictions yet.

The figure, who goes by the name "Trevor the Time Traveller", is the latest person to claim they’re from the future on the platform and they bring with them bad news.

Trevor claims to be posting videos from two decades in the future, and he also says he's on the hunt to find his friend "Roger" aka "Chronos”.

We’re more than a little sceptical of course, but the oddly fascinating videos have been gaining viewers over recent days – and the big one relates to the outbreak of World War III.

Sign up to our new free Indy100 weekly newsletter

According to Trevor, we don’t have very long until something very bad happens.

A new clip posted on the account sees Trevor write: "Here are 3 dates that something terrible is going to happen.

"Remember this date 2/21/2024 - something very big will happen,” he wrote.

"29/5/2030 - A third world war will start, lasting 7 years between the north and south.

"2037 - The war ends and a second baby boom happens, growing the population too high."

@trevorthetimetraveler #time #timetravel #timetraveler #help #alien

It’s an ominous prediction - but it’s not the strangest thing TikTok ‘time travellers’ have made videos about in the past.

Another person claiming to have the ability to travel through time, this one going by @timevoyaging, took an even more apocalyptic approach to the whole thing.

According to them, we’re only a year away from coming up against a hugely destructive species known as ‘Azawa’ who live underground and end up destroying humanity as we know it.

‘Time traveller’ shares footage from three weeks in the future showing who wins the World Cup

‘Time traveller’ shares footage from three weeks in the future showing who wins the World Cup

The ‘time traveller’ correctly predicted england’s loss during last summer’s euro.

Marcus Chan

Marcus Chan

A TikTok user who claims to be a time traveller has shared video footage showing who will win the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The tournament only kicked off last week and we are about three weeks away from the final of football’s biggest competition.

Now, the user on TikTok has shared television footage from three weeks in advance which shows who will get their hands on the World Cup trophy. You can watch the footage below.

TikTok user, @worldcuptimetraveller last summer predicted England’s loss to Italy in the 2020 Euro final and has come back with another huge claim.

The footage shared on social media shows Brazil have just beaten France 2-1 in the final in Qatar. Meaning the South American country will lift their sixth World Cup.

Brazil players were captured celebrating whilst a dejected Olivier Giroud bowed his head in utter disappointment.

The scoreline graphic is exactly the same as the ones we have been seeing on live coverage so far in the tournament, with the time traveller claiming that Richarlison and Marquinhos were the scorers for Tite’s side, and Antoine Griezmann the scorer for France .

The video was captioned: “Brazil just beat France at the 2022 World Cup final. I'm a time traveller. Helping you out like last year.”

Fans were quick to react to the footage on social media.

One said: “Why does it look so…real.”

Another commented: “Imagine if he gets it right again.”

Image

However, many eagle-eyed fans spotted that the footage of Brazil players celebrating was actually from their first match against Serbia after Richarlison netted the first goal.

Although it is practically impossible to predict the winner at this stage, both Brazil and France will have a huge chance of making it all the way to the final.

Who will win the World Cup? Let us know in the comments.

England vs Slovakia, Sunday, 5pm

England vs Slovakia

Expect much of the same from England against a similar opponent to the ones they faced in their group. It will be safe, it will be tough to watch but Gareth Southgate's side will probably find a way in a turgid, low-scoring encounter.

A penalty to be scored looks a runner to me here at 5/2 with Sky Bet as England are the best team at the tournament at winning penalties, by some distance, yet one hasn't dropped their way yet.

England have been awarded 35 penalties in just 97 games since Gareth Southgate took the job. That sort of ratio is super high.

  • Sky Sports writers pick their England XIs to face Slovakia
  • Gary Neville: Don't hold Kobbie Mainoo, Cole Palmer back

Take for example last year's Premier League campaign. The highest ratio of penalties won per 90 minutes was set by Chelsea, who won 12 penalties in 38 games working out at a 0.32 per 90 ratio. England are working at a 0.35 per 90 ratio for penalties won under Southgate and that's from a bigger sample size of matches. It's a skill.

And it's one of England's most potent weapons under this manager as they have a tricky forward line, capable of winning fouls.

Meanwhile, Slovakia, who will defend deep, have already conceded a penalty at this tournament vs Romania and conceded two penalties in qualifying.

How did the group stages end?

Download the Sky Sports App

The numbers are screaming of a strong likelihood of a penalty being scored yet, the Sky Bet odds surrounding don't mirror that. With Harry Kane's record from the spot in mind, I'd have this bet closer to 7/4 than 5/2. And of course you have the insurance of a Slovakia penalty being scored in your favour too.

SCORE PREDICTION: 1-0 | BETTING ANGLE: A penalty to be scored (5/2 with Sky Bet - Bet Here!)

Spain vs georgia, sunday, 8pm.

Spain vs Georgia

What odds would you have given for this game to be a last-16 fixture at this tournament when the full-time whistle blew after Spain's 7-1 win over Georgia in qualifying? A million to one, maybe?

On aggregate Spain beat the Georgians 10-2 over those two matches, registering 53 shots to Georgia's 13.

It's no wonder Spain are 1/7 with Sky Bet to win in 90 minutes.

Although I've got no interest in taking Spain on, it's hard to ignore just how much of a free-swing this really is for Georgia, who play with such spark and fluency in attack. That does make them a runner here to add to the scoring.

They have scored in 13 of their last 15 games, including in both of those meetings with Spain and in Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Georges Mikautadze they carry genuine quality. Both teams to score is overpriced at 6/4 with Sky Bet.

SCORE PREDICTION: 4-1 | BETTING ANGLE: Both teams to score (6/4 with Sky Bet - Bet Here!)

France vs belgium, monday, 5pm.

France vs Belgium

I've been disappointed with both teams so far but the tournament could just start here for both. They are hard to read.

What is glaringly obvious though is that Belgium's back four, especially Wout Faes and Jan Vertonghen, are going to struggle to handle Kylian Mbappe. That could be the decisive factor.

If somehow Belgium are going to progress then they'll have to rely on some variance with France's finishing and hope that Kevin De Bruyne remains in the form we've seen from him in this tournament.

He's been the heartbeat, playing as a roaming no.10. This type of big occasion is made for players of his ilk and it's his shot on target prices that standout here. The 10/11 with Sky Bet for him to register an effort on target looks big considering how involved he is in the final third and that he's already had five shots on target at the tournament.

SCORE PREDICTION: 2-1 | BETTING ANGLE: Kevin de Bruyne to have a shot on target (10/11 with Sky Bet - Bet Here!)

Portugal vs slovenia, monday, 8pm.

Portugal vs Slovenia

Forget Cristiano Ronaldo. The main man for Portugal is Bruno Fernandes.

Once Roberto Martinez figures that out, the better Portugal will be for it. Ronaldo has now scored just one non-penalty goal in his last 11 matches for Portugal at major international tournaments and his presence is becoming a problem and a sideshow.

Meanwhile, Fernandes is in the prime of his career now and showed in qualifying that he's the key to Portugal delivering on the big stage. He grabbed 14 goal contributions and found the net in one of his two starts in the group stages. I'm expecting him to kick on in the knockout stages, starting with what looks a real one-sided contest with Slovenia. The 11/4 with Sky Bet for Fernandes to score in a Portugal win looks a nice price.

SCORE PREDICTION: 2-0 | BETTING ANGLE: Bruno Fernandes to score in a Portugal win (11/4 with Sky Bet - Bet Here!)

Romania vs netherlands, tuesday, 5pm.

Romania vs Netherlands

For someone who has got 11 assists in his last 22 starts for his country, Denzel Dumfries is being grossly underrated by the Sky Bet markets.

When you factor in how heavily fancied Netherlands are and their expected goals return is to score over two goals, the 9/2 on Dumfries assisting a goal really does appeal. Those odds imply a probability of about 18 per cent, I'd have it closer to 30 per cent based on the data and how dangerous Dumfries is down the Netherlands' right flank.

SCORE PREDICTION: 0-2 | BETTING ANGLE: Denziel Dumfries to register an assist (9/2 with Sky Bet - Bet Here!)

Austria vs turkey, tuesday, 8pm.

Austria vs Turkey

The next two weeks should be an exciting ride for punters like me who backed Austria pre-tournament. The 80/1 shots are now 16/1. Not only have Ralf Rangnick's side showed themselves to be a force, they've also landed in the weaker half of the draw after playing no-fear football that saw them top the group.

A collision course with Turkey here could just be the game of tournament. It's shaping up to be beautiful chaos.

Austria will press hard and fast while Turkey are full of outstanding and exciting individual players in attack that are allowed to express themselves. To the backdrop of this there are two defences that are liable to make mistakes. It just screams goals and cards.

Keeping the over cards lines on your side should prove a profitable call in the knockout rounds. Since Euro 1996 in the knockouts, the average cards per 90-minute stands at a whopping 4.76 and in last 16 matches of the last two Euros, 13 of 16 games saw over 3.5 cards land. If you combine over 2.5 goals here with 40+ booking points using the Bet Builder, you can conjure up a 6/4 shot with Sky Bet.

SCORE PREDICTION: 2-2 (Austria to win on penalties) | BETTING ANGLE: Over 2.5 goals & 40+ booking points (6/4 with Sky Bet - Bet Here!)

What do you need to know?

They may not have played at their very best level, but England still comfortably topped Group C, remaining unbeaten against Serbia, Denmark and Slovenia. Coach Gareth Southgate seems to be working out how to best combine the immensely talented group of players he has at his disposal, and defender Kieran Trippier insisted better is to come, saying: "We can be more aggressive on the press and create so many more chances, especially when you see the quality in our side." The Three Lions beat Germany at this stage at EURO 2020 , and will be confident of making it to a fourth consecutive major international quarter-final.

Standing in England's way are Slovakia, who have already upset a leading nation with a shock 1-0 win over Belgium in Group E. A tense draw against Romania on Matchday 3 sealed their progress, and Francesco Calzona's side are now dreaming of a first last-eight spot at a major tournament since the country became independent in 1993. "I believe we will once again delight our supporters with our fighting spirit," vowed defender Peter Pekarík, with Slovakia eyeing what would be a famous victory.

Possible line-ups

England : Pickford; Walker, Stones, Guéhi, Trippier; Mainoo, Rice; Saka, Bellingham, Gordon; Kane Suspended : none Misses next match if booked : Foden, Gallagher, Guéhi, Trippier

Slovakia : Dúbravka; Pekarík, Vavro, Škriniar, Hancko; Kucka, Lobotka, Duda; Schranz, Boženík, Haraslín Suspended : none Misses next match if booked : Duda, Schranz

Expert predictions

Joe Terry, England reporter

England are still waiting for their attack to function in harmony, but it's comforting that the defence looks so hard to breach heading into the knockout rounds, where results trump performances. Kobbie Mainoo is set to start in midfield after his promising display against Slovenia, while it's unclear if Phil Foden will be ready after missing a couple of days for the birth of his child. Anthony Gordon, arguably Foden's natural replacement, offers the directness that England need.

Rastislav Hribik, Slovakia reporter

Slovakia achieved their primary goal by reaching the last 16, but their appetite is growing and, after beating Belgium, they are daring to dream of upsetting England. The reason for their optimism? They have only been behind for a few minutes at the tournament so far, they managed to score in all three group games and, apart from Dávid Hancko's minor muscle issue, their first-choice XI is fully fit. Moreover, several players have been hoping to face England again after the teams' last EURO meeting in 2016, which ended goalless .

Slovakia have nothing to lose against one of the favourites for EURO 2024. However, this in no way means that Calzona's men don't believe in themselves before the match. On the contrary, several of them wanted England as last-16 opponents and are counting on teamwork and a bit of luck to stop England's stars. It was a strange feeling for Slovakian journalists in Germany too – to see how much confidence the players from this small country have before a game against such a strong opponent. Together with humility. I liked it.

Views from the camps

Gareth Southgate, England coach : ""You have to get through that first phase, and now you're into the world of – it has to happen on the day. You've got to go for it. We've been here before many times, we know what it entails and we're very excited about the challenge.[Slovakia] press high, they're aggressive in their defending, and you've got to find a way of breaking through that press, so it’s going to be the toughest possible test. This is the truly exciting part [of the tournament]; it's the bit that nobody can predict, and we need to find our next level, which we believe we can. We've not come here just to get out of the group. We've come here to try and win the tournament."

Francesco Calzona, Slovakia coach : "Maybe we can be calmer because we are underdogs but that doesn't mean that we go into the game in a defeatist mood. We will try to win. I'm not optimistic or pessimistic. I believe in my team, I believe we can play our game. We want to play our football, no matter who we are up against. This team has always dictated the pace of the game since my arrival. We have never let our opponents have the initiative. Of course, England are one of the favourites for the tournament. It won't be easy, but we will do our best to do well and wish to make the fans happy again."

One tiktoker has been sharing footage of full-time match scenes from the future for a while now.

If you had the ability to time travel, what would you do? Perhaps you’d hitch a ride on a brontosaurus or ‘accidentally’ nudge toddler Hitler out a top floor window.

Or, if you’re Tiktoker @worldcuptimetraveller, you’d time warp forward a few weeks, stick a footie match on the TV , jankily film it on your phone then whack the footage on social media and spoil the World Cup 2022 results for everyone .

@worldcuptimetraveller has been sharing footage of full-time match scenes for a while now, and thanks to Brazil’s win over South Korea on Monday (5 December), it seems their predictions for the World Cup final are still on.

Watch their World Cup prediction video below:

Last month, @worldcuptimetraveller shared what they claimed to be footage showing who wins the tournament.

The clip suggested Brazil would win the title and showed footballers and fans from the South American country celebrating the massive win.

Alongside the footage, they wrote: "Brazil just beat France in the 2022 World Cup final."

@worldcuptimetraveller said Brazil would beat France 2-1 and their footage not only showed Brazilian players celebrating, but French player Olivier Giroud looking unhappy with his head bowed.

The scoreline Brazil 2 - France 1 could also be seen in @worldcuptimetraveller’s footage, as could official-looking World Cup graphics.

The clip also predicted that Marquinhos and Richarlison would net goals for Brazil, with Griezmann scoring for France.

A number of their predictions appear to have come true.

Seeing as it was confirmed in recent days that both Brazil and France have made it through to the World Cup’s quarter finals, @worldcuptimetraveller’s prediction could well come true.

@worldcuptimetraveller also told their followers that they were ‘helping you out like last year’ in reference to the fact they correctly predicted the outcome of the Euro 2020 final.

Ahead of the final, @worldcuptimetraveller - who used the handle @nsh.official at the time - predicted Italy would win the final 2-1, which the nation went on to do.

That said, plenty of people are still sceptical about @worldcuptimetraveller’s predictions.

Responding to the social media user’s post about the World Cup final, a few people pointed out that the so-called footage from the future appears to be from the Richarlison celebration goal.

Some, however, were quick to point out the 'time traveller's' winning predictions.

"He got it right on Euro 2020 btw," said one, while another wrote: "Imagine if he gets it right again."

A third added: "If those two actually playing in finals... I'm putting my life savings on Brazil."

A 'time traveller', who claims to be from the year 2671, has said "very big things" will happen in December and will "prove" he is real.

Eno Alric, known as theradianttimetraveler on TikTok, named four dates next month when notable events will apparently occur.

He posted a series of bizarre videos on the platform forecasting the future, in a bid to prove he is who he says he is.

Earlier this year he also claimed he could transport eight people with him to his time within six months, Mirror UK reports .

His latest upload is a 20-second video captioned: "Yes, I am a real time traveller, remember these 4 dates in December 2022."

The video also features foreboding music and pinpoints December 8, 12 and 25 as dates something apparently will happen, while December 20 is "The Release".

Eno added: "Very big things will happen on each of these dates, this will 100% prove that I am a real time traveller."

He gave no indication as to what his viewers should prepare for, but repeated his warning from other recent videos: "Stay safe."

His predictions have been met with scepticism from commenters, with many teasing him over his failed predictions from last month.

One wrote: "Yeah right, I still remember the four dates to remember in November. Lol."

The time traveller claimed that significant things will happen next month

Another said: "You said 10 people will receive super power on November 14 2022 that didn’t happen."

A third added: "Guys I'm a time traveler [from] the future. Remember the date December 25th it's a thing called Christmas."

Eno previously claimed that this month humans would discover new planets, be struck by a tidal wave and be visited by aliens.

He has 110,800 followers and has promised to reveal his identity once he reaches a million.

His bio says: "From the year 2671, mankind is on the brink of destruction... Face Reveal at 1M."

Eno is not the only TikToker claiming to be a time traveller.

'Time Traveller 3000' claims he predicted Elon Musk would takeover Twitter. In a video shared with their 12,000 followers, they said: "To prove that I am a time traveller I will tell you what happens to Elon Musk.

"As I predicted months ago, Elon would buy Twitter and then unban Donald Trump.

"This will upset many people so Elon will step down as CEO of Tesla and then become CEO of Twitter."

Euro 2024 round of 16 predictions including england vs slovakia.

  • June 28, 2024

Steen Kirby

time traveller england prediction

Two teams that the bookmakers consider favorites to win Euro 2024, England and Spain, play their round of 16 matches on Sunday against the much lower ranked Slovakia and Georgia. Will either European giant be upset in the early knockout stages of the tournament?

England vs Slovakia (Sunday in Gelsenkirchen)

Steen Kirby: Another day, another opportunity for Gareth Southgate and England. This England side have been a laughingstock in group stage play, producing just two goals in a group of Serbia, Slovenia and Denmark, England ended on 5 points with a win against Serbia and two consecutive draws, including a goalless draw with Slovenia to complete the group stage.

Slovakia is here because an upset against Belgium, and a draw against Romania were enough to get out of their group, despite losing to Ukraine and all teams in the group finishing on 4 points. On paper this shouldn’t be much of a game, Slovakia has some credible players like Newcastle’s Martin Dubravka, and PSG’s Milan Skriniar in their starting lineup, but England, of course, rolls out stars like Harry Kane (Bayern Munich), Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid), and Phil Foden (Manchester City), the problem is this team of stars has looked disjointed, disinterested, tired, and immobile under Southgate, who sets the side up to drop back and form a wall defensively, with Everton’s Jordan Pickford manning goal, but has yet to figure out how to get the attack and the midfield to work.

Kane and Bellingham have looked fatigued, Trent Alexander=Arnold from Liverpool was seen as a failure playing “out of position”, and players like Cole Palmer from Chelsea, Kobbie Mainoo from Manchester United and Newcastle’s Anthony Gordon haven’t gotten a full look in by Southgate.

The entire game will rest on England’s attacking performance, Slovakia knows they are not going to control possession or unleash waves of attack at England, but the longer they stay in the game they will have opportunities to score on set pieces or even play 120 minutes and send the game to the lottery that is penalty kicks. England need to find a way to go and win the games now that it’s knockout stage footballm the path ahead is very favorable if they can figure it out, and given low expectations, even a modest improvement looks possible. Prediction: England 1 Slovakia 0

Spain vs Georgia (Sunday in Cologne)

Steen: Compared to the stoic football England and Slovakia have offered through three games, this Spain vs Georgia game will probably feel like a breath of fresh air. Spain secured qualification with an impressive 3-0 win against Croatia, a narrow 1-0 win against Italy, and then with less to play for, they defeated a punchy Albania side 1-0 as well.

Georgia have kept their underdog journey alive, they snuck into the knockout stages with a stunning 2-0 victory against Portugal in a game where they didn’t just win by two goals, they actually dictated play and looked comfortable much of the match. Georgia has played better in every group stage match, they were poor in a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Turkey, they drew Czechia in a 1-1 battle, before stunning Portugal (who had already secured qualification).

Valencia’s Giorgi Mamardashvili has been elite in goal, Napoli’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia was the first goalscorer against Portugal. Spain has way more talent on paper and will be the side dictating play against the Crusaders who are minnows in world and European football. The question is how long can Georgia stay in this game and build belief. If Spain can score early they likely go on to win comfortably, if doubt begins to creep in because the game is tied at the half, Georgia could go on to pull one of the biggest upsets of all time, but the reality is when you have players like Fabian Ruiz (PSG), Lamine Yamal (Barcelona),  and the revelation that has been Marc Cucurella from Chelsea in the backline, you should be winning a game like this. Look for Spain to not give Georgia a sense of belief and for La Roja to get the job done in the round of 16. Prediction: Spain 2 Georgia 0

England to reach Euro 2024 semi-finals in knockout predictions; Walker & Kane out for Coufal & Weghorst?

England midfielder Phil Foden with other stars

It’s prediction time in the Mailbox as the Euro 2024 knockout stages are analysed, while Vladimir Coufal and Wout Weghorst would be better options than Kyle Walker and Harry Kane on current form. Plus, boring football saves lives, Jack Grealish, Phil Foden and Trent Alexander-Arnold…

Send your thoughts to [email protected]

Euros Knockout Prediction time  As we all know predictions are nigh on impossible , but we all love making them, so here are mine for the knockout rounds:

Last 16 looks fairly straightforward on paper so I’m going for a QF lineup of:

Spain, Germany, Portugal, France, Netherlands, Austria, England, Switzerland

The Swiss being the big call of that round; this is where it gets interesting, I’m going for:

Spain to beat Germany Portugal to beat France Austria to beat Netherlands England to beat Switzerland

Two of the  above on penalties (including England)

Semi Finals: Portugal to beat Spain based on pure shithousery Austria to beat England by pressing us into oblivion

***Southgate to be called a WIENER Schnitzel on the front page of a tabloid****

Portugal to win the final, on penalties, having not scored a goal in open play in 90 minutes of any of the knockout rounds.

It’s just what they do.

No rational basis for England getting as far as the semis but my heart could only overrule my head that far.

I can confidently predict that 25% of my predictions may come true as that is loosely based upon maths. Brian (BRFC)

Ex and current PL players that wouldn’t get into Southgate’s England team, but are playing better than Southgate’s England team There is a Euro football break, and being slightly disappointed with the performance of the England team in the group stages, I wondered if I could create a team from the Euros of ex and current Premier League players that are performing better for their countries than the England players selected by Gareth Southgate. But, crucially, these players wouldn’t be selected by Southgate.

4-2-3-1 Formation:

GK: Kasper Schmeichel (Anderlecht & Denmark). He now plays in Belgium and is 37 years old. Would Southgate take him? Possibly, as England are low on reliable keepers at the moment. Jordan Pickford is undoubtedly Gareth’s number 1, and so far, he has had a decent tournament. Finding another keeper who is playing better and meets the criteria is tricky. But Schmeichel is an ex-Premier League winner and has had a decent tournament so far.

RB: Vladimir Coufal (West Ham & Czech Republic). He’s a right back, so that automatically gives him a great chance of making the England squad. Got an assist against Portugal.

CB: Nathan Ake (Man City & Holland). He probably would make the England squad but strictly as a centre back and only if Lewis Dunk was missing a leg. Claimed an assist in his first game.

CB: Jannik Vestergaard (Leicester & Denmark). Played Championship football last season, so no chance of even being on Southgate’s radar. Solid for Leicester. Solid for Denmark. He’s in.

LB: Andy Robertson (Liverpool & Scotland). If he was a right back, he’d be straight in. But he’s a left back, so under Southgate, he’s got no chance. Unless he’s injured. (if, like me, the mailbox won’t accept Robertson then…) LB: Milos Kerkez (Bournemouth & Hungary). He’s played three games for Hungary. No goals, no assists. Sounds perfect for the England team.

CM: Mikel Merino (ex-Newcastle & Spain). Struggled to find midfielders, but Merino played a handful of times for Newcastle a few years ago and appears to be bang in form now for Spain. Would Southgate pick him? Not ahead of Rice. Or Bellingham. Or Gallagher, probably.

CM: N’Golo Kante (ex-Leicester, Chelsea, now Al-Ittihad & France). Now hear me out. He’s basically semi-retired and 33. I’m not sure, having picked a youthful squad, that Southgate would opt for the gamble like the French team have done. And what a player he (still) is. What a great decision by Deschamps. Gareth wouldn’t take a gamble on him, I’m sure of that.

RW: Memphis Depay (ex-Man Utd & Holland). Struggled to find a RW that was current or ex-Premier League, so went for the ex-Man Utd flop who is now the starting striker for Holland. Three games, one goal, so good enough for the right wing in this team.

CAM: Christian Eriksen (Man Utd & Denmark). Not in a million years would he get in this England team, yet he still oozes class and sophistication on the biggest stage.

LW: Cristiano Ronaldo (Al Nassr & Portugal). Three shots, no goals, the same as Phil Foden in this tournament. Would Ronaldo accept playing second fiddle to Foden? Doubt it. So he’s in this team.

CF: Wout Weghorst (Burnley). Playing for Burnley in the Championship? Weghorst has not only scored a goal but got an assist in the tournament group stages. That record beats that fraud Harry Kane in this tournament.

I just did this for fun, so please don’t hammer me, mailbox. I’m sure I’ve missed some ballers. I’d be delighted if anyone could improve this team. The criteria are they have to have played in the Premier League, be playing better for their country than the England players, and be very unlikely to be picked by Gareth Southgate.

Thanks, Matt (gooner, exiled in Essex)

Boring football saves lives Just a reminder of how boring football saves lives and wins tournaments. Whenever I hear the Portuguese talk about winning the tournament no one seems to recall how boring and shite they were. Euro 2016 at a glance. Portugal 1 – Iceland 1 Portugal 3- Hungary 3 Portugal 0- Austria 0 Portugal 1 – Croatia 0 Portugal 1 – Poland 1 . Portos on penalties Portugal 2- Wales 0 Portugal 1- France 0 AET

Not sure if it’s coming home or if I actually care anymore. Either way I’ll be getting pissed. Jason G, Montreal, Canada

Flash in the pan Foden and Bellingham are both players who believe their own hype. They are phenomenally gifted, of that there is little doubt, the evidence is there, but they both want to be the headline. The amount of times I’ve seen the pair of them take on some stupid shot or pass when a simpler, more effective opportunity was right in front of them (eg: Foden should have passed to Kane in the first game, tried to blaze one in instead). They want the adulation more than they want the win, and I think these players epitomise this quality.

Like those players on your 5 a side team or Sunday league who once had a trial for Southend and so take every single shot they can regardless of whether it is the right choice and blame everyone else for the loss when it happens.

We’ve media trained these players since they were kids, and so they all talk about the pride of wearing the shirt etc, but they rarely seem to mean it. I always feel what they really mean is ‘my profile will only grow from here as I’m now an international’

This isn’t a new problem, it is basically Lampard vs Gerrard or Liverpool lads vs United lads from over the past 2 decades! John Matrix AFC

The less you play, the better you get  Amazing how much better Jack Grealish is when he’s not at the tournament. Let’s just look at Paul’s claim that: “Phil Foden is not good enough for international football and never has been.”

In competitive games for England: Grealish: 28 games, 2 goals, 3 assists Foden: 29 games, 3 goals, 7 assists

Criticise Foden if you like (and some of it is fair) but where is the evidence that Grealish would do better? Grealish is a very good player, but I highly doubt he would be ripping up trees in this England team. Let’s not forget that Foden is coming off the back of 19 goals and 8 assists in the Premier League. In his best season for City, Grealish had 5 goals and 7 assists.

Put Grealish into this team and the result would be exactly the same. I’m not defending Southgate, but he can’t win at times. Imagine if he hadn’t picked Foden off the back of this season. He would be utterly eviscerated (more than he already is). Mike, LFC, Dubai

Everyone banging on about Grealish should remember that the lad is a party boy, loves to go out, perhaps Headmaster Gareth deemed this to be the deciding factor in leaving him at home.

*** Against Slovenia it was quite telling, Foden pulled play to the left, passed back to Trippier. Then Trippier passed back to Foden, who was crowded off the ball. Immediately thereafter Foden was pointing to the middle, asking Trippier why he didn’t centre the ball. Just shows you, England play without tactics. Or if there are tactics, no one is really sure what they are, apart from being an eyesore.

Best Wik, Pretoria (so many managers in the mailbox recently), LFC

TAA the scapegoat I’ve only been able to watch about half the England outings so far but Trent’s created more chances than any other player despite playing less than half the minutes – surely he’s not the problem? He’s literally in there to create chances. I did however see him lose the ball in a few dodgy places and some bad touches, but you can copy and paste that comment on at least 7 other starting players with golden boy Bellinghman absolutely in that list, and far more deserving of the comment than Trent.

All in all this is one of the more obvious cases of scapegoating I’ve seen in a while. Trent being out of position was the easy fall guy despite the entire team clearly not playing well.

Sometimes is just too easy to blame the manager, but sometimes its so bloody obvious. Southgate has at his disposal the premier league player of the year Foden, the La Liga player of the year Bellingham and the European golden boot winner in Kane. Not to mention a few other very clearly top class players. Could you imagine what Klopp or Pep would get out of this team? Patricio Del Toro

I’d rather see England lose with a “were gonna score one more than you” mentality than this boring brand of creationless football losing on penalties.

Yes Arnold can do dazzling things so yes bring him in. But he’ll need support and a proper target so bring in palmer Gordon and Watkins too. What was GS thinking, “experimenting ” DURING a major finals! He’s had 2 years to get his best team together and define an attacking format. Very poor this year Gwyn Jones-Williams frome, Somerset

Just responding to the article saying “Foden not fit for international football” ..

Not far off. He couldn’t hit the floor with his hat!!!…

The team has no passion to win. Phil

Wow, just wow. Just reading this story it is obvious that the writer is not a fan of Pep. And because of that, he takes umbrage that a young player, who has come up through the system at Man City and is performing very well may be struggling in the England setup.

Stating that Foden is not good enough to tie Grealish’s boots is very insulting (and would be to anyone) and totally uncalled for.

Also, the tone of the writer indicates he is a fan of Grealish, and is, therefore, biased in his judgement.

The truth is that Grealish is only a very good player in a system that is built around him.

He obviously does not fit the Man City/Pep Guardiola style of football.

Grealish’s style is to get the ball and challenge the opposition one on one, trying to beat them with his dribbling skill, which is counter to one touch play. It wastes time, allowing the opposing team to adjust position to prepare to pick up the inevitable loose ball or shutdown passing lanes.

I don’t understand why Grealish is playing for Man City at all.

As for Englands performances, I like many others are baffled at the lackluster play and mediocre results. Southgate must take responsibility for that. There does not appear to be a plan in place for their games that is geared towards winning. There is very little, if any, enthusiasm shown on the pitch by the players to be representing their country.

The talent that is shown week to week during the season seems to disappear for the national team. THAT is the problem.

Sincerely, Armchair quarterback; KB.

Scary thought I was thinking about Haaland for no good reason and what if he made Zlatan his mentor? He could take over the world. Zdravko

'Time traveller' says five disastrous events to strike the world in 2024 from WW3 to supervolcano

The outlandish TikTok video predicts a number of disastrous events to unfold in 2024, including World War 3, talking dragons and the rise of monkey-human hybrids

A supervolcano is one of the many disasters predicted for this year by a TikTok 'time traveller'

  • 15:24, 3 Apr 2024
  • Updated 08:47, 4 Apr 2024

A TikToker who claims to be a ' time traveller ' has said they know five events yet to come in 2024 in a bizarre new video.

The clip, posted on the social media app on Wednesday by user 'Radianttimetraveler', outlines a series of unusual and apocalyptic events predicted for the rest of the year.

It includes the creation of a monkey-human hybrid, World War 3, and even the eruption of a supervolcano. The video has already drawn plenty of reaction from users on TikTok - with some praising the would-be clairvoyant for their imagination.

The predictions, which are displayed on-screen as dramatic music plays in the background, begins by saying: "Attention! Many of you still don't believe I am a real time traveller, so here are 5 major events to come in the rest of 2024."

The first eyebrow-raising prediction - which is set against a dramatic CGI video of a mushroom cloud explosion - reads: "May 27: A second civil war begins in the USA when Texas secedes from the rest of the country. Other countries take sides, beginning WW3, nuclear weapons are used.

The next says: "June 4: The first ever human-chimp hybrid is made, it has fur, a tail, and can speak to humans and monkeys. It begins teaching other monkeys to speak, and they eventually become full members of society."

A volcano is then tipped to erupt around a month later, as the warning reads: "July 24: The Yellowstone Volcano erupts, covering almost the entire US and Canada in ash. It is a supervolcano that stretches 2/3 of the way across the US, it creates a canyon 4X larger than the Grand Canyon".

If you're wondering whether things could get any more dramatic, you'll be pleased to hear that talking dragons are also forecast to emerge this summer. The TikTok user's prediction reads: "August 15: Dragons are discovered in the Rocky Mountains, they can fly, breathe fire , and speak." A natural disaster is then expected to round things off, as the final prediction says: "September 15: The first ever hypercane hits the US east coast, a hurricane with over 500mph windspeeds."

Giving their own frank take on the video, one commenter wrote in response: "Not even close to being believable." But praise came from another user who commented "I like this guy he never gives up", while another quipped: "Can't wait to see the dragons."

Why England Will Win

England has made it to the Round of 16 despite not really playing its best football. Somehow, the Land of the Rose has been solid on defense but has had a thorny issue scoring goals.

Harry Kane has one goal on six shots through the first three matches of the group stage. Yet, he still needs to do more to help the Three Lions roar to victory. Bukayo Saka has an assist and two shots through three matches. Furthermore, he looks to make more contact and get some passes to Kane to set up more scoring chances.

The midfielders have some work to do, and Declan Rice leads the charge. So far, he has not scored, but he did make 58 passes in the last showdown against Slovenia. Jude Bellingham has one goal on two shots through three matches. Additionally, he had 54 passes in the last showdown with Slovenia. Phil Foden has fired off seven shots but has yet to score. Regardless, he still distributed an impressive 80 passes in the last match.

The defense has been excellent on the pitch. First, John Stones delivered 10 tackles and 10 clears. Kyle Walker has 13 tackles, four clears, and even six interceptions against Slovenia. Meanwhile, Marc Guehni has 19 tackles and 11 clears. Kieran Trippier has delivered 19 tackles and six clears. Overall, these four defensemen have done a lot to help goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, who has notched 10 saves and conceded just one goal.

England will win this match if the midfielders can set up crisp passes for Kane to kick into the net to get the boys going early. Then, it needs another excellent performance from the defense and Pickford.

Why Slovakia Will Win

Slovakia is the heavy underdog in this one as it battles England. Therefore, it needs everything to go right to have a chance to defeat Great Britain in the Round of 16.

It starts with offense. Ultimately, forward Ivan Schranz will be the one to watch, as he has two goals on four shots in the group stage. But David Strelek has not scored on four shots. However, Likas Haraslin has one assist over three matches.

The midfielders must also do their part to help Slovakia pull off the upset. What this requires includes great passing and maneuvering to avoid the English. Juraj Kucka has an assist over three group-stage matches. Additionally, he had 33 passes against Romania. Stanislav Lobatka has not scored. Yet, he delivered 51 passes against Romania. Ondrej Dude has one goal on four shots. Furthermore, he delivered 42 passes in the last match.

The defense will also need to do everything to contain Kane. It starts with Milan Skriniar, who has 15 tackles and 18 clears. Denis Vavro also must step up. So far, he has 10 tackles and 22 clears. David Hanchko has delivered, with 26 tackles and 11 clears. Meanwhile, Peter Pekarik has notched 23 tackles and seven clears. All these men have done their part to help goalkeeper Martin Dubravka, who has notched 11 saves and conceded three goals over three matches.

Slovakia will defeat England if it can maintain possession and make good passes to set up scoring chances. Then, it needs to play strong defense to avoid giving up good chances to England, especially Kane.

Final England-Slovakia Prediction & Pick

England is a well-known superpower in the football world. Conversely, Slovakia is not. While it would be an amazing story to see Slovakia rise to the challenge and do everything it can to upset England, it is not likely. As highlighted, everything must be done right for that to happen. We still have not even seen the best of Kane yet. Consequently, we feel like Slovakia may see that in this match as he nets a goal to help the English advance to the quarterfinals while sending Slovakia home.
