Snorkeling, Parasailing, SNUBA Dive, and Sunset Cruises in Islamorada

Making memories since 1994, experience classic keys activities, snorkeling, parasailing, sunset cruises, snuba™, and private charters.

You’d be missing out if you came down to the Keys and didn’t get up close to the mesmerizing reefs ! We’ve got the best snorkeling for miles … both in terms of the reefs we visit and our snazzy boat. Parasailing with us couldn’t be more of a breeze , and our sunset cruise is the perfect way to sit back and relax with a nice cocktail (or mocktail). We also offer corporate and private charter events on our beautiful catamaran, Blue , so feel free to check out our activity pages!

Our family of 10 – children, parents and grandparents had a wonderful time on their reef snorkeling trip. Their catamaran “Blue” was large, comfortable, and easy to get in and out of the water […] I would definitely do this again and highly recommend Sundance to all!! Read more

We headed out with a group of nearly 30. We were in town from Michigan for a wedding and had a wonderful morning. The crew was amazing, very accommodating and went the extra mile to make sure everyone enjoyed their trip. The ride back to dock even included a bunch of dolphin in our wake. We had a great time!! Sunset Cruise – fantastic!!

Such a great sunset cruise! The crew was amazing, and our evening couldn’t have been better. They took such great care of our large group of 24 from N.C. (Brandon will remember us!) 🙂 The crew went around and personally talked with each group on the boat – very welcoming. Super easy process. Highly recommend these guys!!!!

Sunset Cruises

Our popular nightly sunset boat tour affords the opportunity to listen to the sounds of tropical island music as you experience the unique beauty and wonder that nature provides right here on the waters of Islamorada in the Upper Florida Keys.

Before positioning our comfortable Hurricane deck boat for your best possible view and photos of a colorful keys sunset, we’ll cruise past multi-million dollar homes and get an up close view of the beautiful mangrove islands that comprise Upper Matecumbe and Windley Keys. We will then settle in to watch the tropical magic of the flaming sun melting into the never-ending horizon.

We depart approximately one hour and forty five minutes before the actual sunset. Our customized tour spans the better part of 2 hours. Use discretion and bring a jacket , as the night air on a sunset boat ride sometimes tends to be cooler at times.

Please keep in mind that almost every Islamorada Sunset cruise can be customized to include facets of each activity that we offer. Including a stop at the sandbar, sightseeing or (when conditions allow) some light snorkeling. A perfect way to end the day for families, couples, honeymooners, and kids alike!

The Best Key Largo Snorkeling Tours

fish on a coral reef

Getty Images

Key Largo, the northernmost and longest of the Florida Keys, is a top destination for divers and snorkelers alike. Bordered by Florida Bay and the Atlantic Ocean, the self-titled Dive Capital of the World offers plenty of attractions and things to do , including John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park . This subaquatic treasure (known as the first undersea park in the U.S.) features 70 nautical square miles of sparkling turquoise waters and the shallow-water living coral reefs of the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary – the only living coral barrier reef in North America and the third-largest living coral reef in the world. These protected and vibrant reefs are home to an abundance of marine life: more than 6,000 species.

One of the most notable attractions when diving or snorkeling in Key Largo is the nearly 9-foot tall, 4,500-pound bronze sculpture known as Christ of the Abyss. It sits deep in the waters of John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park. The statue is the third in a series. The other two lie in the waters of the Italian Riviera and on land at a port in Grenada to honor those who lost their lives at sea. Florida's statue has been submerged since 1965.

After consulting both expert opinion and traveler sentiment, U.S. News identified the following snorkeling tours as the best available. In addition to vibrant reefs, shipwrecks and statues, snorkelers could see angelfish, parrotfish, sea turtles, spotted eagle rays and dolphins, among other marine life.

Note: Wearing sunscreen is encouraged, but you must wear reef-safe sunscreen that is not made with harmful chemicals like oxybenzone and octinoxate.

Sundiver Snorkeling Tours – Shallow Reef Snorkel Tour

Price: Adults from $65; kids from $55 Duration: 2.5 hours

If you're traveling with kids or first-time snorkelers, consider this tour. Sundiver offers daily tours to the reefs at the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. The 9 a.m. trip features a visit to the Christ of the Abyss statue, while the noon and 3 p.m. tours provide views of an abundance of marine life, including tropical fish and possibly sea turtles, lobsters, starfish and rays.
Now that you're inspired to hit the road, it's time to start planning. After budgeting for a road trip, your next step is to decide whether you will travel south from Key Largo to Key West, or north from Key West to Key Largo. Or maybe you'll opt for a roundtrip.

If you're starting off in Key Largo, it's important to note that the Florida Keys Overseas Highway begins at the Miami-Dade/Monroe County line. So if you're flying to Florida, Miami International Airport (MIA) is the way to go.
