Sea trek made it worth it

The park was okay. What made it worth it was the Sea Trek (extra money) and the show at the end of the day. Everything else was okay.

Dear visitor, Thank you for your comments. We wish you could have enjoyed our more than 40 activities in our park; like swimming at the lagoon, the beach and our natural pools. Our underground river it is not artificial, is a natural river and we just add the facilities so that visitors have a safety visit. We also have other activities you could have done; like visit our scenic tower to have a nice view of the Riviera Maya, and visit our Coral Reef Aquarium where you can find a variety of marine species. Thank you for contacting Experiencias Xcaret! Kind Regards.

Fantastic park. Very large. Amazing animals. Lazy river very busy but fantastic experience. Food is lovely with lots of choice, clean and lovely helpful staff. The turtles where huge and the pelicans were very funny flying at us and stopping everyone from crossing the bridge, so funny! Brilliant day and the show in the evening was great.

sea trek riviera maya mexico

During the November holidays, before the winter season, my family and my brothers decided in Cancun, Quintana, exactly in the XCARET park. My experience was really fun, enjoyable and very surprising. In this park I had a lot of fun, the activities to do inside the park are very extreme. What I liked most was done with the starfish. It has too many places like the cenotes, a lot of fauna and the climate is surprising. I really recommend that place to spend as a family, the price is well worth it.

We loved Xcaret! We recommend it specially the night show! You can get a discount if you book online and if you book early.

We went there on sunday and it was packed! My recommendation will be to avoid going on sunday! The park in general is really pretty, but everything is super expensive. Be sure to bring ecological sunscreen and mosquito repelent also ecological otherwise you will need to buy it on the park. The buffet is really good but what really blow my mind was the night show Mexico Espectacular it was amazing you shouldnt miss it!

It is a very nice place, where you can even spend all day, as there are lots of things to do there. But I was very disappointed with their organisation. After paying the ticket, they give you minimal information. There was a stand where we could pick up maps but nobody explain us anything what's there, what to start with, some recommendations or tips. Some of the employers speak very poor English, which makes it more difficult to ask questions. Considering the ticket it's quite expensive, they don't even offer lockers for free, you have to rent them extra-cost. And some of them are very small that you can barely fit in a backpack. I expected more from such a big touristic place...

Dear Visitor, Thank you for sharing the insights of your most recent visit. We appreciate each of your comments, as they help us to improve continuously. Xcaret is a visited attraction, by people from different parts of the world, so we understand the importance of having staff who speak several languages. Our Attention Visitor's staff, which can be identified by their uniform, will always be more than happy to assist you, they are located in modules strategically located within the park to provide the support requested by our visitors. We hope you give us the opportunity to receive you again in Xcaret or one of our attractions such as Xel Ha, Xplor, Xoximilco, Xenxes or Xenotes, we will always be more than happy to assist you before, during and after your visit.

Amazing Sea Trek within the Park - Xcaret

Amazing Sea Trek within the Park

Best way to do the Sea Trek is to book it online or in the center after you enter the park. They have one of the cheapest Sea Trek I have seem at $49 USD at the park and right now online prices is at $44. I would book the Sea Trek 2 hours ahead (since there is always a line ) (actually have to be there 20 mins before your time slot so you can watch a safety video - giving you actually 1 hour 40 mins to do the River). The Sea Trek itself is about 25 mins under water and I saw and touched 1 stingray, 2 Sea Turtles and all kind of tropical fish. The sea turtles realize the divers there are feeding the fish as you do the sea trek so they are always going toward them and all the fishes are attracted. The workers at the Sea Trek try to feed the fish around everyone so you have a chances to have fishes all around you. It was really cool to touch the Sea turtles under the sea. My wife and 10 year Son loved it and said was well worth the $49 USD and we wish we had time to do the snuba too at $59 USD (good value compare to what we seen in the Bahamas.) You can do the Xcaret's Underground river 1st which will take about 45-60 mins of swimming. They have a bag at the entrance where you can lock all your cloths and stuff (not recommended for cameras or tablet) and it will be send toward the river exit for you to pick up 45 mins later (Really nice so you don't have to walk backward). The Xcaret's Underground Rivers have 3 possible rivers (Blue River, Maya River or Manatee River) . The river exit is about 10 mins walk to the Sea Trek. Keep track of your time so you won't miss your Sea Trek reservation (no refund). I was asking other tourist along the River for the time as I swam down the river at a reasonable pace taking. At the end of the swim, you can go over to the sea trek or grab a quick hot dog and be on time for your Sea Trek Experience. Please vote helpful if you like this review.

We had a great day at Xcaret! The grounds are quite large and there is so much to do! We didn't do any of the "optional/extra" activities and still ran out of time to do everything that we wanted in one day. The highlights included seeing the animals/aquarium/butterfly pavilion, walking the Tropical Jungle Trail, swimming in the rivers, and watching the evening show "Xcaret Mexico Espectacular." We walked along the beach, which looked nice, but ran out of time to swim/snorkel. We had Plus tickets which included lockers/change rooms, snorkel equipment, and a meal/drink at one of the buffets. The food was just okay. Overall, it was a great day and we would definitely go again!

This huge park is even better than when I last visited, about 10 years ago. It is clean, safe, beautiful, and has great signage and different colored paths to follow to the various areas of interest. It has a great aquarium, turtle program, butterfly area, and jaguars! The underground cenote river swim is my favorite of almost any activity anywhere: they make it easy by providing lockers, secure locked giant duffel bags to get your belongings from the end you go in to the other, and flippers. There are 3 choices of amount of light from above; we chose medium, but would go with the lightest next time. It's so much fun! A bit cool, but I was fine. I love the Mayan ruins and village, but the cemetery was my favorite. You've got to see it to believe it, as each headstone/grave is hand made and uniquely suited for the deceased. Great place for people of all ages.

This park is nice and scenic but very overpriced. They offer two different packages but they may as well not have a basic package because it makes everything you want to do an extra cost. The night show was good but not great.

First of all, pay the extra and get the lunch deal ticket, the food is great and worth the money plus there's plenty of it. The underground river is fantastic, in the heat of the day the water is very cool and refreshing, great fun, people who can't swim well can just float all the way in the vests provided, this is something that is just so different you just have to do it. The park is also very educational in terms of Mexican history. My friend and I are in our 50's and had a great time at Xcaret.

Liked the re-enactment and dinner show. I did not have enough time to see the theme park. The price was great .

We are thinking to visit both Xcaret and Xelha for that experience. Are there are other options besides these 2 parks?

At their websites I can see there are two options for Snuba at each park:

Reef or Bahia at Xcaret

Cenote or Caleta at Xelha.

Which one would you recommend? We are thinking Cenote

Same about Sea Trek: which park offers better experience?

What other optional activities would you recommend / advise against?

How much time do we need for each park?

Just my opinion but
