What makes a good Happy Hour? Without getting too philosophical over the concept of "happiness" (is it a state of being? Whatever eudaemonia is?), it usually involves a combination of good drinks, good food, and good deals. But what separates a good Happy Hour from a great one is the quality of those drinks, food, and deals. Here are our favorite Happy Hours in the city.
THE HAPPY HOURS

Best New Restaurants
Little Shucker
When: Monday-Thursday, 3-5pm
Little Shucker is a shellfish wonderland in Pacific Heights. During normal business hours you can (and should) rack up the bill by ordering dozens of oysters, multiple buttery lobster rolls (or crab rolls, depending on the season), and a giant plate of white wine mussels. At Happy Hour, you’ll get the same high-quality oysters from Tomales Bay and Brunswick, Maine, but at bottom-barrel prices: $2 oysters (by the half-dozen or dozen), plus $10 glasses of wine and $7 beers.
When: Daily, Open-6pm
The good news is that Mission tsukemen standby Taishoken offers Happy Hour every day of the week. The bad news is that the flawless tsukemen (and its excellent salty-sweet broth) isn’t part of the Happy Hour deal. But you can get a spicy edamame dip for $5, yukari and kombu fries for $6, and a selection of wine cocktails, beer, and even a sake flight for $6-$12. But when you come here, you'll still want to make sure the tsukemen is on the table (for the perfectly chewy noodles alone).
When: Monday-Saturday, 5-6:30pm
The small, cozy seafood spot on the Divisadero corridor is one we always recommend for intimate date nights. It’s also where to turn for a Happy Hour deal that'll satisfy deep cravings for shellfish. They have a great Happy Hour with $12 half dozen oysters, $24 dozen herb-and-jalapeño-marinated mussels, and $12 seafood chowder. Crispy cod tacos (two for $12) are also here to help you reach seafood utopia, and there are deals on wine and beer as well.
Popi's Oysterette
This castle of seafood in the Marina is decked out with tasteful nautical accents—which is fitting since you’re at Popi's Oysterette to feast on everything that comes from the ocean. Their Happy Hour includes things like steamed clams ($8) and deviled eggs with cured trout ($5 for two). And because you’ll need something carb-y to go with all that shellfish (and soak up the many $7 glasses of rosé you’ll likely consume), round Happy Hour out with an order of $5 cheesy fries.

Harborview Restaurant And Bar
Embarcadero
When: Tuesday-Friday, 4pm-close
This sprawling Chinese restaurant on the Embarcadero with chandeliers and Bay Bridge views is one of our favorite places for a group dim sum meal near the water. It’s also a Happy Hour destination. They do deals on dim sum "bar bites" at the sleek black marble bar upstairs. And once you settle in, you can order baked barbecue pork buns, chicken wings, and siu mai for $9-$10. Drinks include $8 house wine, $8 well drinks, and an $11 margarita.
Lower Pacific Heights
When: Daily, 4:30-6:30pm
Tataki’s Happy Hour features $6 sushi rolls, $5 nigiri, and $4 handrolls. It runs seven days a week and keeps this casual sushi spot in Lower Pacific Heights packed. You can order a stream of spicy tuna rolls, scallop nigiri, and agedashi tofu which arrive quickly. Keep them coming—this place runs an efficient operation. Cocktails, beer, and white wine, all for $5, are on hand too.
When: Monday-Friday, 3-6pm
Santería, a Mexican cocktail bar and restaurant in the Castro, has a full dinner and brunch menu, but we like casually dropping in to play catch-up with friends over shareable bites and cocktails. There’s a ton of elbow room on the front patio, lots of comfy seating inside, and a great Happy Hour. The drinks are pretty standard, $9 margaritas and $5 beers, and they also like to keep things simple with food specials: everything is $9, from the nachos with carnitas to the flautas and quesadillas.
When: Tuesday-Sunday, 3-5pm
The friendly Marina bistro on the main Chestnut Street drag goes all in on seafood for Happy Hour—oysters are $2 each. And martinis are $7 (and there’s nothing better than knocking back oysters and sipping something equally briny and salty). While you’re here, don’t pass on the opportunity to order their incredible, juicy, smash-style Americana burger (not part of the Happy Hour deals), which is one of the best burgers in town.
Pinsa Rossa
When: Monday-Friday, 4:30-6pm
Roman-style pizzas are the name of the game at the Pacific Heights spot Pinsa Rossa. During Happy Hour, they serve a wide selection of personal-size pinsas (get the spicy salami), small plates like pork and beef meatballs, each for $9. They also have glasses of house white or red wine, also $9.
When: Monday-Friday, 3:30-6pm; Sunday, 3:30-6pm
Starbelly is an American restaurant in the Castro that’s perfect for when you and your large group need to eat immediately and don’t have a reservation (tables are somehow always available), or you’re looking for a solid Happy Hour. Beer and wine are $6, shots and half-lager combos are $8, and cocktails are $8-$9. Accompanying all those drinks are light bites like $5 house fries and $6 thai pork sausage. For a more substantial meal, there’s even a burger, fries, and cocktail deal ($20).
El Techo De Lolinda
When: Monday-Friday, 4-6pm
We like this fun Mission rooftop bar for the strong margaritas and the, “Wow, I’m so lucky to live here” views of downtown. Hitting this spot up for Happy Hour is also never a bad idea. The deal features everything we love—strong booze at a discounted price, plus $7 guacamole and chips, $5 yuca fries, and $7 beef empanadas.
When: Tuesday-Saturday, 5-6:30pm
Angler on the Embarcadero is an upscale seafood affair serving whole sea bream cooked in coconut and swarnadwipa and an intense radicchio salad—we typically suggest this place when someone else is picking up the bill. But during Happy Hour you can eat without feeling like Mr. Monopoly Man after he declares bankruptcy. There’s wine by the glass ($9-$15), cocktails for $12, and small bites like ember-roasted oysters ($4 each), and hot fried frog legs with cardamom crème fraîche ($18).
Billingsgate
When: Tuesday-Friday, 3-5pm
The neighborhood seafood market in Noe Valley doubles as a casual, counter-service restaurant, and one that can fulfill any late afternoon desire for shellfish. Every Tuesday through Friday from 3-5pm, oysters by the half dozen and glasses of cava are half off, which is as good an excuse as any to block off an "appointment" on your calendar and get here for a late-day snack.
Chao Pescao
Civic Center
When: Tuesday-Friday, 3-6pm
The Columbian-Cuban restaurant in Civic Center is big, bright, and always bumping—so if decompression over loud music is your thing, get here. This place sucks us in with $6 draft beers, $8 cocktails, and discounts on empanadas, yucca fries, and more during Happy Hour. There’s also a special of the day, and 75-cent wings on Wednesdays. But just a heads up, Happy Hour is at the bar only.
When: Monday-Friday, 2-6pm
We can always rely on Delarosa to fill us up so we can keep the day moving, whether we’re planning a date night or casual dinner with our dog (the sidewalk patio is four-legged-friend friendly). That’s the beauty of a spot that has solid pizzas, a lively bar, and a great Happy Hour. Cocktails are $8, beers are $6, and margherita pizzas are $10. Get the crispy cauliflower ($10) and you’ll be set.
Mission Rock Resort
Mission Bay
Mission Rock Resort wins the award for Best Waterfront Bar And Grill For Any Occasion—group dinners, brunches, and a cocktail with a view, and, since it’s only one block away from the Chase Center , a fantastic spot for all your Warriors pre-game drinks (the upstairs cafe also has lots of TVs). But come here any time from 3-6pm, Tuesday through Friday, and you’ll get $7 wine, plus $1.50 oysters (six minimum, 24 max).
Il Casaro Pizzeria & Mozzarella Bar
When: Daily, 5-6:30pm
We like this Italian restaurant in the Castro when we’re craving wine and carbs at a moment's notice. And the good news is that during Happy Hour you can get $9 house wine, discounted cocktails, and their solid wood-fired pizzas, which are $5 off. $10 appetizers, including calamari, burrata, or polpette al sugo, are also part of the deal.
When: Monday-Friday, 3-5pm
The Peruvian restaurant on the Embarcadero is always a hit for cocktails and ceviche, and unbeatable views, especially if you choose to sit out on the lovely (and covered) waterside patio. Happy Hour is another big plus to this place, and this one has $10-$11 cocktails, $6 beers, and $5 empanadas.
When: Monday-Thursday, 5-6pm
Beretta is an Italian spot in the Mission with an upbeat energy that’ll keep you awake even though you had to get up at 6am this morning. Their “ora di aperitivo” is the move. During Happy Hour, you can choose from $8 cocktails and glasses of wine. They also have deals on dishes like eggplant caponatina, meatballs in spicy marinara, and a selection of solid pizzettas for $10 each.
Osha Thai Restaurant & Lounge
When: Daily, 5-7pm
The Happy Hour at this Thai restaurant on the Embarcadero is all about the oysters—$1.50 oysters, from 5-7pm every day, to be exact. If that’s not enough to make you stop doomscrolling on your phone and get here, also consider this: the special menu includes $8-$10 cocktails, $5 beers, and $7-$9 small plates that feature everything from basil pesto fries to calamari to chicken wings.

HAPPY HOUR SPOKANE – THE SAFARI ROOM AT THE DAVENPORT TOWER
A good happy hour can be hard to come by, but the Safari Room in the Davenport Tower has you covered.
Half price on all alcoholic drinks AND half priced flatbreads? Sign us up!
You typically wouldn’t gravitate to a hotel bar for happy hour, but Spokane likes to break those boundaries and surprise us in so many (great) ways. To make this even sweeter, the Tower offers complimentary valet parking. That’s right, you don’t even have to deal with downtown street parking!
When you first walk into the Safari Room, you’ll notice that it really lives up to its name. There are animals and animal prints everywhere, but it’s just the right amount of safari.
All of their cocktails are made as doubles, and they even have signature drinks to match their theme! We recommend the Mango Tango if you’re looking for a fun, fruity cocktail.
If you’re like us and you crave food whenever you go to a restaurant/bar, then you have to try the flatbreads. There are five delicious options: Tomato Pesto, Spicy Shrimp Tomato Pesto, Thai Chicken, Mushroom Fontina and Pepperoni/Italian Sausage. All of them are only around $6 to $7!
But, if you are craving a little bit more, they do offer a full menu with a range of options.
The Safari Room is well known to the locals and serves as a great spot to start a fun night out or grab a quick drink. Happy hour is every day from 4-6pm, but we recommend getting there a little early because it does fill up!

Happy Hour with Hippos, Dinner with Elephants, and More Unforgettable Safari Experiences
These spectacular safari dining excursions belong on your bucket list.
Jordi Lippe-McGraw is a seasoned travel, food, and lifestyle writer and media pro, featured in top outlets like the New York Times and Vogue, and on shows from TODAY to MSNBC. With visits to over 50 countries and all continents (even Antarctica at 21 weeks pregnant), she’s a globe-trotting expert. In 2023, Jordi launched PAK Rêve, a chic travel bag brand for families on the move.
Angama Mara
One of the best parts of traveling is dining in spectacular new settings. The pastries seem a bit sweeter in a Paris café, just as the pasta tastes better among the rolling hills of Tuscany . The truth is, you won’t find a more memorable place to dine than on safari in Africa.
On a recent trip to Zambia, at the Time + Tide Chinzombo and Time + Tide Mchenja luxury camps in the stunning South Luangwa National Park, I experienced daily out-of-this-world dining experiences, all between game drives to spot the Big Five.
From hors d'oeuvres along a hippo-filled river to a private moonlit dinner with baboon guests, these spectacular meals on safari are worth adding to your bucket list.
Pop-Up Bar in the Bush
When you are miles away from civilization and you're closer to lions than other humans, you might not expect to find carefully crafted cocktails. But that's precisely what awaited us during an evening game drives. Our guide, Andrew, pulled over in the middle of the bush, stating it was time for an evening drink. But there was nothing in sight except warthogs, impalas, and crocodiles.
Jordi Lippe-McGraw
He instructed us to get out of the Jeep, and we watched as he transformed the hood into a pop-up bar. The driver pulled down a built-in table, laid a tablecloth on top, and grabbed bottles of wine and spirits from a cooler. Meanwhile, another camp staff member took our drink order and prepared a gin and tonic for me, a whisky neat for my husband, and a mango mocktail for my four-year-old son. We sipped on them as we watched hyenas stroll and past birds serenade us.
Hors D'oeuvres with Hippos
I've been to lovely cocktail hours in historic mansions and glam New York City bars. But the evening setup along the hippo-filled Luangwa River might be the best one yet. The Time + Tide Chinzombo team surprised everyone staying at the camp with a full spread of hors d'oeuvres and pink, rose-infused gin cocktails that perfectly matched the sunset as hippos hummed and huddled in the water nearby.
One team member made a fire to pop fresh popcorn in a pot; fresh-baked sausage-stuffed bites and mini quiches lined the table with camp-grown ingredients. (A full bar was also available.) I couldn't think of a better way to end the day before embarking on a night game drive that included two baby leopard sightings.
Private Moonlit Dinner with Elephants
My seventh wedding anniversary coincided with our stay at the cell phone-signal-free Time + Tide Mchenja and the full moon. So, as a romantic surprise, the team set up a private three-course dinner on the riverbank in front of our tent. A dedicated waiter started the meal by serving chilled champagne as the moonlight and a single candle acted as our lighting for the evening. After that, we sipped on soup, savored grilled tilapia with rice and a savory sauce, and finished with a cheesecake for dessert. But, if that wasn't enough, three elephants decided to join as our dinner guests. Luckily, they didn't want to ruin our romantic moment and opted to munch on the nearby trees instead.
Stevie Mann
Breakfast with Giraffes
In Zambia, I enjoyed a made-to-order omelet as warthogs dug in the grass and hippos made their morning groans. One of the most talked about safari breakfast experiences, however, is at Giraffe Manor in Kenya. The boutique hotel, set in a 1930s manor house, is a common stopover for guests headed out on safari in the Serengeti. But, besides the classic four-poster beds and vintage decor, guests love the four-legged residents. Here a herd of giraffes frequents the manor for breakfast, sticking their heads into the windows as you sip a cup of coffee. I'm not sure a morning meal can get wilder (and I live with a toddler … named Wilder).
A Movie-Worthy Picnic
At the Maasai Mara Game Reserve in Kenya, you can book a movie-worthy private fête champêtre. Luxury lodge Angama Mara offers an Out of Africa picnic for guests who want to relive the famous romantic flick starring Meryl Streep and Robert Redford. A checked blanket, pillows, canvas chairs, and a wicker picnic basket filled with pastries and coffee or sparkling wine and appetizers await on the actual kopje used in the movie poster. Be swept off your feet while taking in sweeping views.

The Ultimate Guide To Phoenix's Best Happy Hours
Happy hour's origins as a tradition involving booze are often traced back to Prohibition . From 1920 to 1933 , the sale, transportation, or manufacture of alcoholic beverages was illegal in the United States. However, drinking intoxicating liquors remained legal. This conundrum led to the formation of speakeasies. These secret businesses continued to serve alcohol illegally during the Prohibition area. During this time, patrons missed being able to get tipsy at restaurants. To solve the issue, people would first go to a speakeasy, then, once they were drunk, head to dinner. This practice of pre-gaming dinner at a different place pioneered the concept of happy hour.
Engaging in happy hour is no longer illegal. Instead, it's known as a way to unwind after work, hang out with coworkers or friends, and enjoy a few snacks or drinks. It's also known for its deals. Bars and restaurants offer discounts on menu items. Starting at 5 p.m. (give or take a few hours, depending on the business) you can take advantage of markdowns on beer, wine, cocktails, and more. Because of these attractive price cuts, it can be useful to know about happy hour deals in your area. If you live in Phoenix, Arizona — or are traveling there soon — read on to learn our happy hour recommendations for the city. Here is our ultimate guide to Phoenix's best happy hours, as of December 2022.
Kaizen is a Japanese restaurant located at 515 East Grant Street in the Phoenix neighborhood of Central City South. This means it's located right next to Downtown, the heart of this Southwestern city. The restaurant's happy hour takes place Tuesday through Saturday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
According to a Kaizen Instagram post from 2022, the eatery's happy hour deal is half off the entire menu. If this remains the case, you'll be able to enjoy a major markdown on the restaurant's many Japanese dishes. These include classic appetizers and small plates like edamame, miso soup, shishito peppers, gyoza, karaage, tempura, and yakitori. Sushi offered includes familiar favorites such as spicy tuna rolls, California rolls, spicy salmon rolls, and Philadelphia rolls. As for drinks , there are many Japanese offerings there, as well. Kaizen serves several different Japanese whiskeys, sakes, Japanese beers, and cocktails made with Japanese flavors.
Due to its extensive food menu, we'd recommend Kaizen as a place to get both drinks and snacks during happy hour. If that turns into your dinner, or you stay until the happy hour is over, this seems fine to us as well. Kaizen patrons seem to agree. "Definitely come here for happy hour!! They have 50% off the entire menu from 4-6pm from Tuesday to Saturday ...There were so many things we want to try so we will definitely be back! The sashimi were really fresh," wrote one person on Yelp .
Postino WineCafe
Postino WineCafe is an Italian restaurant chain . Its name translates to "mailman" in Italian because the original location of Postino (which happens to be in Phoenix) was housed in a former post office, according to The Houston Chronicle . Today, Postino maintains several Phoenix locations. But it has also expanded into other nearby Arizona cities, such as Tempe, Gilbert, Tucson, and Scottsdale. On top of that, there are now Postino locations in other states, like California, Colorado, Georgia, and Texas.
There are two outposts of Postino WineCafe in Phoenix, Arizona. One is located in the Arcadia neighborhood and the other is located in the Central neighborhood. Both offer the same happy hour deals. This includes an offer of $6 wine glasses until 5 p.m. Also, on Monday and Tuesday, you can get a wine bottle and a bruschetta board for only $25 after 8 p.m. This turns out to be a really good deal, as Postino's lowest price for a bruschetta board is $16 and its lowest for a wine bottle is $35. Even by getting the cheapest options available, you're paying half.
This Phoenix eatery's generous happy hour deals are a hit with patrons. "Awesome happy hour specials. Plus, surrounded by other great eateries," said one Postino WineCafe customer on Foursquare . Another person (who claimed to have been to the restaurant over five times) exclaimed "Happy hour all day before 5!"
Blanco Cocina + Cantina
Blanco Cocina + Cantina is a Mexican restaurant chain with locations in several states, including Arizona. Phoenix is home to more locations of this eatery than any other city or state. There are currently three: one in the Biltmore neighborhood, one in Downtown Phoenix, and one at the Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport. The first two Blanco Cocinas come with happy hour menus, which are available Monday through Friday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
These happy hour menus include deals on appetizers (like queso or guacamole), tacos (like carnitas or pastor), cocktails (like a margarita or a Paloma), wine, beer, and shots. Every single item on the happy hour menu can be purchased for under $10. Happy hour patrons of Blanco Cocina + Cantina were pleased with the affordability of these deals. "Good food and service. Great for date night, group dinner, or happy hour," said one person on Open Table . "The ambiance and location is really great, right in the center of Downtown and happy hour deals seemed pretty fair," said another person on Yelp .
Rough Rider
Rough Rider is a restaurant and bar located in the Phoenix neighborhood of Roosevelt. This historic-sounding name is fitting, in this case, because Rough Rider has a 19th-century theme. The theme comes through in the drinks — which are inspired by the Victorian era — and food — which is also influenced by the past. Phoenix locals can sample from both parts of the menu during happy hour at Rough Rider. This takes place Tuesday through Sunday, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
During Rough Rider's happy hour, there are multiple deals to take advantage of. Cocktails cost only $10, allowing you to try alcoholic beverages such as "The Daisy," which have their roots in the 1800s. Rough Rider also offers deals on wine and beer. You can take $2 off a glass of either during this time. With food, the markdowns continue. Oysters are $1 each. There are also discounts to be found on small plates like salmon dip, mussels, and fried cauliflower.
According to some customers, Rough Rider is a good place to have a romantic happy hour. "Great place for date night. Definitely go for happy hour! Delicious drinks and fresh oysters. Dinner was also very good, can't go wrong with the half chicken or the bone in pork chop," they said on Open Table .
Gracie's Tax Bar
Gracie's Tax Bar is a bar located in Downtown Phoenix. The name comes from its owner, Gracie, as well as the building's former life as a tax service business, per the Phoenix New Times . But nowadays, it's a convenient spot to gather with friends for drinks, bar food, and live music. You can take advantage of happy hour deals at Gracies Tax Bar from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. every day.
This is a fun yet casual establishment. Some even call it a dive bar. The happy hour deals reflect this. During happy hour, you can get a pitcher of beer for $7, a Miller High Life for $5, or well drinks for $3 each. If you're still not interested, listen to what these ecstatic online reviewers have to say. "Nice little neighborhood bar. Fun for happy hour. I liked the moody red lighting inside, and the pet-friendly outdoor patio with ample seating. Regular bar food and service. I look forward to going back," said one person on Restaurantji .
The Main Ingredient Ale House & Café
The Main Ingredient Ale House & Café is a Phoenix restaurant in the Coronado neighborhood. Its name and welcoming atmosphere come from the fact that it was built in a hundred-year-old home. But this homey vibe also emanates from the menu, where there are comforting dishes like tacos, sandwiches, macaroni and cheese , and more to be found. During happy hour, you can save on The Main Ingredient's drink menu.
Happy hour at this business takes place on Monday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. During these times, beers, wine, and well liquors cost $1 less. Also, cocktails cost $2 less. Customers say The Main Ingredient and its happy hour is beloved by Phoenix locals. "Neighborhood favorite. Great happy hour, good food, and always a good time whether alone or with the family," said someone on Yelp . "I can't stay away from this place. Amazing service, tasty sandwiches and appetizers, oh, and the happy hour rocks," wrote another reviewer .
The Arrogant Butcher
The Arrogant Butcher is an American restaurant located at 2 E. Jefferson in Downtown Phoenix. Happy hour takes place Monday through Friday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and comes with a menu. Pints of draft beer are reduced to $5 each. Classic cocktails like mules, margaritas, and old fashioneds only cost $7 each. If wine or well drinks are more of your vibe, you can also get one serving of either for only $6. But that's just the drink prices. The Arrogant Butcher has a happy hour food menu as well. During this time, you can get appetizers like soft pretzels with fondue, spinach artichoke dip with tortilla chips, or salmon rillette with ciabatta bread.
Due to the schedule and affordability of The Arrogant Butcher's happy hour, it's a good place to go on weeknights if you want a deal. "We had three awesome appetizers and two non-alcoholic drinks for under $30. That's pretty impressive," said one visitor . "The ambiance of the restaurant was sweet and romantic, the lighting fixtures really set this whole place off. The restroom had a small little lounging area and the Decor was just so sweet. Happy hour is a must!" said a patron on Kayak .
Adams Table Patio & Bar
Adams Table Patio & Bar is a Phoenix bar and restaurant named for its address, at 150 West Adams Street . This Downtown Phoenix establishment offers happy hour deals Monday through Sunday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. According to the Phoenix New Times , this place offers genuinely affordable happy hour deals. Beers are $5, cocktails are $7, and appetizers are $6.
According to customer reviews, it's not just the deals that make happy hour at Adams Table exciting. It's also fun for socializing. "Great happy hour and fun for people watching," said one person on Yelp. "We wanted to try this place instead of hitting up one of our usual spots. It was perfect! The atmosphere was on point, the steak frites were terrific, and our bartender, Maddy, was serving up some fantastic cocktails!" said another reviewer . Also, due to the proximity of this spot to the Phoenix venue The Orpheum , you could stop by before seeing a show.
Bitter & Twisted Cocktail Parlour
Claiming to be located inside the former Arizona Prohibition Headquarters , Bitter & Twisted Cocktail Parlour is an interesting place to get drunk. Its historical past may lead you to think it's another bar with a vintage vibe. Instead, it's a place where you can drink out of various gimmick containers. Per the current holiday menu , you can have cocktails served inside cups shaped like Santa, a coconut, or a tiki-themed bathtub. If this is the vibe you want from your bar, you can take advantage of Bitter & Twisted's happy hour deals Tuesday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Per Visit Phoenix , you're going to want to get a cocktail here. There are over 100 different kinds on the menu. On the other hand, the food menu is more limited. Per Total Happy Hour , drink discounts include $6 cocktails and $1 off well drinks and beer. If you are wanting to get a cocktail in a trendy spot during happy hour — and watch some flair bartending at the same time — this is the place. At least one patron said so. "Yes, it was happy!! Fantastic place! Clean and lively and contemporary. The bartenders are awesome! They know how to make a drink and watching them do it is half the fun," they wrote .
Aftermath Bar & Kitchen
Aftermath Phoenix is a casual place to get food and drinks. Unlike many of the other popular happy hour spots in Phoenix, this business is not located Downtown. Instead, it's in the Madison neighborhood at 1534 East Bethany Home Rd . If you're in the right place at the right time, you can take advantage of this establishment's happy hour deals daily from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The bar menu is served during this period. It includes indulgent dishes like oysters on the half shell with Calabrian chili cocktail sauce, beef fat fries served with multiple dips, a burger made with Velveeta cheese, and caesar salad with ciabatta bread croutons. According to Aftermath's Facebook , happy hour drink discounts mean that you can get certain cocktails or beers for only $5 each. Per reviews, this place is versatile. It's more of a chill spot, making it suitable for multiple kinds of gatherings. "Great place for a date night, double date, work happy hour. Everything," wrote one Yelp reviewer .
The Neighborly Public House
The Neighborly Public House is a happy hour spot located at 5538 N 7th St . in the Phoenix neighborhood of East Central. It may refer to happy hour — which takes place here from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. daily — as "social hour," but this discounted menu operates the same way. Happy hour specials consist of food, wine, beer, liquor, and cocktails. For food, there are dishes like chicken wings, nachos, and oysters Rockefeller. They are offered for under $15 each. All beers cost only $5 each and all glasses of wine cost $9. Mixed drinks cost $7 for a standard pour and $10 for a martini or rocks pour. Cocktails are offered for a maxim of $10 each.
If you're hungry during happy hour, this is the place to go. Phoenix Magazine complimented several of its dishes, calling the restaurant slightly sophisticated, comforting, and affordable. These words could be used to describe several of the restaurants in the Phoenix area. But the small creative twists that Neighborly Public House sprinkles through its menu could be the perfect fit for some customers. One person on Tripadvisor called it their favorite spot in the area, writing "They have a great happy hour from 4-6pm. Highly recommend the ahi noodle salad, cauliflower wings, burrata and prosciutto, filet with loaded baked potato, and the good day sunshine cocktail."
The Whining Pig
The Whining Pig is a Phoenix bar chain centered around beer. There are several locations in the city, in the neighborhoods of Arcadia, Downtown, Desert Ridge, Ahwatukee, and Madison, per the website . The nearby cities of Gilbert and Scottsdale are also home to locations of The Whining Pig. Each business hosts happy hour every day until 7 p.m. Deals within this time apply to glasses of wine and draft beers.
According to one Reddit post , you'll save a few dollars on each of these drinks during The Whining Pig's happy hour. Per Total Happy Hour , that means you might be able to get a beer for $3 and a glass of wine for $5. It may appear casual, but The Whining Pig seems to be popular with locals. People appreciate it because the business is conveniently spread throughout the Phoenix area, making it easy to get to one or another location. Fans also appreciate this Phoenix happy hour spot's markdowns. "Very good selection/locations all over Central/North/East valley and they do weird and more random happy hours/nights/deals," explained one person .
O.H.S.O. Brewery and Distillery
If you prefer to drink brewery-quality beer during happy hour, check out O.H.S.O. This brewery chain has four locations in the Phoenix area, including two within the city. These are located in the Arcadia and Phoenix Valley neighborhoods. According to the chain's website , happy hour takes place at the Paradise Valley location from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. The same schedule applies to the Arcadia location . Per O.H.S.O., some people bike to the bar. This allows you to take in views of Phoenix's scenic canal, as well as avoid driving home after drinking.
According to the King of Happy Hour website, you can get deals like $8 cocktails, wine glasses, and beer pitchers during this time. There's also a handful of affordable food dishes from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. — many of which cost only $5 each. These include cheese curds, crab wontons, and pretzels (via Ultimate Happy Hours). This spot comes recommended by natives of the Phoenix area. One person called it the best "in the valley ."

The Heroes of Happy Hour
It doesn’t matter if you’re an office nine to fiver, a round-the-clock entrepreneur or side hustling freelancer, the happy hour ritual is a sacred practice for those who grind. These happy hour hot spots all offer something special, from amazing drink specials to Zen-like waterfront views. Add them to your post-work hangout rotation, if you haven’t already.
Osorio’s Latin Fusion, Appleton
Greene’s Pour House, Neenah
Waverly Beach Bar & Grill, Menasha
Stuc’s Pizza, Appleton
If you think a bar is a prerequisite of happy hour, think again. ”We don’t have a bar, but that didn’t deter us from trying it,” says Dustin Drahos, general manager at Stuc’s Pizza. “It gives people something to do while they are waiting for their pizza.” This is helpful because Stuc’s handcrafted-to-order pizzas take about 20 to 30 minutes to make – the perfect amount of time to knock back a cold one. Happy hour runs from 3 to 5 p.m. every day of the week at Stuc’s Appleton location. The Neenah location does not currently offer alcoholic beverages. During happy hour, beer and glasses of wine by Bota Vineyards are a dollar off regular prices. Drahos says regular beer prices range from $3 to $4.50, so during happy hour most beer is just $2 to $3 a pint. In addition to some bottled imports and the necessary Bud Light, Spotted Cow and Amber Bock on tap, Stuc’s offers a lineup of local craft beers. “The majority are Wisconsin-based like from Pigeon River Brewing Company and Titletown Brewery,” Drahos says.
Ground Round, Neenah
Happy hour is serious business at Ground Round in Neenah, taking place seven days a week and twice each day. From 3 to 6 p.m., all drinks are a $1 off regular prices and items on the bar bites menu (like taco dip, cheese curds and wings) are half price. A complimentary taco and nacho bar is located in the restaurant’s sports lounge on weekdays from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. For the late-night happy hour from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m., the deal is sweetened with $1.99 Long Islands and margaritas. Every day of the week also features a drink special, like half price bottles of wine of Mondays. Food and Beverage Manager Ryan Batley says Tuesdays have become a popular happy hour night for two reasons: all burgers are buy one, get one free and there is a meat raffle at 6 p.m. For $3, participants receive a numbered paddle that matches a number on the raffle wheel. If the wheel stops on your number, you are the proud owner of a delicious hunk of meat. Batley says during the summer, late-night happy hour is best enjoyed on the outdoor patio around one of the restaurant’s three fire pits.
Beefeaters British Grille and Ale House, Appleton
For a British-inspired happy hour – no passport required – head to Beefeaters, which is part of Good Company Restaurant Group. Happy hour runs 3 to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday in the restaurant’s English-style pub and comes complete with a complimentary appetizer cart. The cart’s ever-changing offerings could include anything from Cajun potato chips and tacos to pot stickers and chicken wings. Happy hour goers never know what to expect and that’s half the fun. Select domestic bottled beers are $3 during happy hour and the pub has five Wisconsin craft beers on tap including one seasonal selection and one rotating tap. During happy hour, all Wisconsin and Upper Michigan beer bottles and cans, house wines and sangria are $4. The restaurant’s core tap beers are U.K. favorites Smithwicks, Bass (both $4 per pint) and Guinness. If you feel like keeping things a little more local, order a $4 rail old fashioned made with Gary’s Old Fashioned Mix, bottled in Freedom. Pro tip: Good Company Restaurant Group also operates Pullmans at Trolley Square and Good Company in Appleton, both of which offer acclaimed happy hours as well.

Jim Jones Brawls with Two Men on Airport Escalator, Claims Self-Defense
Dua Lipa Good Genes or Good Docs?!
Former NBA Player Darius Morris Dead At 33
Jim jones fights two men at airport ... says he was defending self.
Jim Jones got into a wild fight at the airport, taking on two men at once in unbelievable footage ... and, he's claiming he was just trying to defend himself.
New video, obtained by TMZ captures the fight ... which kicks off as Jim and two others are reaching the bottom of an escalator at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. It's unclear what set off the encounter, but it escalates quickly.
While JJ throws punches at the two individuals, they seem to land on an older man's leg, and he's clearly in a lot of pain when he hits the floor at the bottom of the escalator.
A woman rushes to turn off the escalator, but the fight continues despite protests from others hoping to get away from the violent scene.
Finally, a pair of officers break up the fight ... with Jim letting go of the man he's holding pretty quick -- who appears to be gushing blood BTW. He protests, yelling, "It's two of them against me," but he allows the officer to lead him away and sit him in a chair.
One of the other individuals isn't quite so calm ... trying to pull out of a sheriff's deputy's grasp -- though more officers arrive on the scene and stop him from going any further.
We reached out to Jim who tells TMZ Hip Hop ... "I was minding my business and defended myself. They got what they were looking for.'
It's unclear if anyone was arrested ... we've reached out to local police -- so far, no word back.
