We appreciate that some of our guests may suffer from allergies and intolerances. Please let us know when you make a reservation, and we will try to accommodate you to the best of our abilities. However, our set menu consisting of more than twenty servings containing both fish, shellfish and meat does not give us the possibility to offer an alternative vegan or vegetarian menu. Unfortunatly, we are also unable to provide a menu free from fish or milk protein. We politely ask for your understanding.

Cheap cafeteria for hearty Somalian food. A sign of a good diner: taxi drivers. In any city, taxi drivers are always a good compass to identify approved food hotspots. There were taxi drivers here. Don't underestimate the importance of cheap eats in society! While in US big cities there's an abundance, here in Oslo it's a welcome rarity. They start to function not only as a restaurant but also a community center of sorts. Of course, none of this would happen if there's isn't good food as the backbone. What you get for 90 NOKs (!) is a HUGE plate of spiced rice/pasta (Somali cuisine use a lot of pasta), and then topped with stewed/grilled/pan-fried beef or fish or chicken. I didn't know what the names are, and they don't seem to bother to explain them either. Most clients seem to know by how it looks. I had rice cooked with green cardamom and raisins, topped with thin slices of beef 'steaks' cooked with earthy spices. The rice was tasty, the beef was sort of dry but I think it was on purpose. Next time, I should order a soup in addition, like many other customers. I'd stop short from saying it's really delicious, but they're good enough and had huge portions: 3-star food with 4-star value. The plate of food is completed with a banana. A must for any self-respecting Somali lunch.

Gastronomes at the forefront of the ‘New Nordic’ culinary era have taken to bold and innovative ways of approaching food; perhaps the most famous example of this is René Redzepi’s famously foraged menu at Copenhagen’s 2-star Michelin restaurant, Noma (whose head sommelier, Mads Kleppe, just so happens to be Norwegian).
Norway doesn’t get as much of the limelight when it comes to world-famous chefs and months-long reservation waitlists, but don’t be fooled into thinking it doesn’t bear dining establishments worthy of media attention and Michelin stars (five of them, to be exact).
Norwegian chefs hone in on what Scandinavian dining is really all about: home-cooked meals made with local ingredients from both land and sea and the odd inspiration from other cultures.
Norway’s unique location and climate give it the most cultivable land in the northern world thanks to the Gulf Stream that brings warm air and water to the Arctic Circle.
The result is mouth-watering flavour complexities that are hard to come by anywhere else; berries grown in microclimates burst with sweetness and seafood from the frigid waters of the Norwegian Sea when met by warm waters of the Gulf is less salty and privileged with the perfect texture.

Velkommen til oss! ORO Bar & Grill er en hyggelig og uformell grillrestaurant midt i Oslo sentrum. Vi ble etablert i 2000 og har siden blitt en av Norges aller mest populære restauranter, med anerkjennelse fra både fagfolk og gjester. Her kan du føle deg hjemme i vårt trivelige lokale og kjenne på den levende atmosfæren mens du nyter noen av verdens mest kreative og spennende retter.
Stopp innom for en kaffe, et glass vin eller en bedre middag. Med over 200 sitteplasser imøtekommer vi både store og små grupper. Lei hele lokalet til tidenes konfirmasjonsfeiring eller benytt deg av vår hyggelige lounge med peis til noen trivelige glass vin med venninnegjengen. I helgene er stemningen i baren til å ta og føle på, og med nye utvidede åpningstider kan du bli værende helt til 02:30. Vi er utrolig stolte av at ORO Bar & Grill i 2015 offisielt ble plassert i Michelin-kategorien «BIB Gourmand» for sin gode mat og sine fornuftige priser. Dette er i tråd med vår filosofi om at deilige matopplevelser skal være tilgjengelig for alle, uansett lommebok. Velg mellom å sette sammen ditt eget måltid fra vår à la carte meny eller la kokken selektere 4 eller 6 retter du bør unne deg. Våre menyer byttes stadig ut og baserer seg alltid på sesongens aller beste råvarer i himmelsk kombinasjon med noen edle dråper fra vår innholdsrike vinkjeller.
Vårt eget “dream team” på kjøkkenet er håndplukket av kjøkkensjef Terje Ness, basert på meritter, kreativitet og lidenskap for matlaging. Stjernekokken Ness har selv tatt hjem den prestisjetunge seieren ved Bocuse d’Or i 1999 og samlet sett har hele kjøkkenlaget nok medaljer til å utmerke seg som kokker i verdensklasse.

Incorporating seafood from Norway's rich coastline, with the best meat from inland and vegetables from passionate small producers, Savage highlights the best from each season. While our full Parallels menu takes guests on a journey with between 18 to 19 small servings, over the course of three to four hours, our condensed Refractions menu is a swifter affair - a two-hour journey that presents 9 servings.

Like our signature restaurant, TAK OSLO, Izakaya is our informal street food and cocktail bar, helmed by the award-winning chef Frida Ronge. Located on the seventh floor of the hotel, overlooking Frogner neighbourhood, the bar is the ideal spot for a casual glass of sake or a handcrafted cocktail- served alongside a menu of street food-inspired bites that can be eaten on the side as a snack or as a full meal. All this against elegant interiors by New York-and London-based studio GrecoDeco, whose lavender and emerald colour palette was inspired by Harald Sohlberg’s painting, Moonlight in Nevlunghavn.
The Izakaya terrace is open, weather permitting.

CONTEMPORARY THAI RESTAURANT
Set in a beautifully restored villa in Frogner, Sawan combines the finest ingredients and delicate Thai flavours to create a uniquely modern version of Thai cuisine. The restaurant’s cooking is both subtle and sophisticated, with complex flavours in perfect balance. Sawan’s elegant interior, with touches of Thai-inspired decor, is an ideal setting for intimate, romantic evenings and also larger gatherings of families, friends and colleagues. A highlight is the Sawan wine cellar which is well-chosen and extensive. Expert sommeliers recommend perfect wine pairings to accompany the dishes. Alternatively, you might try one of our handcrafted cocktails.
Sawan has private rooms that are ideal for larger groups, business get-togethers and special celebrations, including small weddings. The restaurant also has a seasonal terrace and garden which is open during the summer months from May 10 to August 25. At the beginning of September the terrace is transformed into an enclosed winter garden available for groups and private parties.
A signature feature at Sawan are the speciality dishes freshly created each day by the head chef. These have become a popular favourite at the restaurant so please ask your waiter for today’s “eight tastes of the day” and also the nine “signature dishes of the day”.
