Imagine is located at Dock C at the D'Albora Marina at Nelson Bay. Approx 50 metres on your right-hand side

This was an absolutely amazing tour, the staff were genuine, down to earth, friendly and the boat was well equipped. It had a genuine family friendly feel to it. It was not over crowded but open, clean, tidy and the staff welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. We were able to see whales with their babies who even came really close to the boat allowing us once in a life time opportunities to see these beautiful mammals in there natural environment doing what they love. As we left the bay there was a dolphin playing around then within 20 mins of setting sail we had found a few whales! We watched these for a little while then headed to see seals on an island, as we started to head back to the harbour there was some activity on the horizon so the boat turned round & we went in search of these whales. Snorkelling and Diving Enjoy warm water diving at it's best.

Scuba diving and snorkelling are very popular activities for visitors to the area, and great to experience at one of the many great dive spots. With its clear and warm Pacific waters, Port Stephens is the optimum place to have an underwater experience.

Experienced divers and novices enjoy the cobalt blue waters alike, and the tourism industry at Port Stephens makes it very welcoming and accessible for a snorkeling or SCUBA diving trip here. Port Stephens is around two-and-a-half hours north of Sydney, on the East Coast of Australia.

For SCUBA diving trips in Port Stephens you should first head to Nelson Bay . Here you’ll find several dive shops that hire SCUBA gear, and also offer PADI training with an experienced instructor.

One of the reasons why Port Stephens is so popular and attracts divers from all around is because of its inspiring sea life. The tide-dominated estuary here is part of the protected Port Stephens-Great Lakes Marine Park, which is home to colourful varieties of fish, turtles, dolphins, and other aquatic wildlife.

Also, you will find sharks swimming these waters, although these are not-for-the-feint-hearted!

If you don’t fancy full-on SCUBA gear and diving, then snorkeling is your next best option. You can hire equipment and go alone, or take an experienced guide with you to point out the best underwater features and wildlife.

Most visitors head to Fly Point, where an enticing underwater world awaits. Here you will find sea caves, sponge gardens, and ship wrecks to explore. You can go by boat and then take a dive.

Other popular diving and snorkeling spots include Halifax Park (best site for wobbegong sharks), Little Beach (a recommended spot to see turtles), and the Seahorse Gardens (the name gives it away!).

If you’re lucky, you’ll get to swim with a dolphin in the waters around Port Stephens, of which there are plenty.

For your best bet, hire a boat to take you out a little further to where the dolphins like to feed, but don’t worry, these fellas are usually more than friendly!

Port Stephens-Great Lakes Marine Park is one of the best places in Australia to swim with dolphins. Price includes: – Drinking water and hot beverages (tea and coffee) are available throughout the day, a light breakfast is included and a fresh fruit platter. – An underwater video camera captures the action from the day. This is edited and made available to download. Downloads available after 2 weeks from tour date. – 3mm Steamer Wetsuit, Mask* & Snorkel and Safety-harness (Average Sea Temperature: 18°C-24°C).  You’ll be asked to state your height, weight and clothing size on the following page. * Corrective Lens Masks may be available to hire (limited availability). pre requisites?

Please be aware that the crew reserves the right to prohibit anyone from entering the water if they deem it unsafe. If any of the below is not found out until on the day,  you may not be permitted to join the tour and you may not receive a refund.

Swimmers of ALL AGES must be reasonably in their swimming and snorkelling ability. You’ll be asked to rate your ability on the following page.

Children under the age of 18 years must be accompanied by an adult at all times, on-board or in-water.

Children under the age of 7 years are not permitted to enter the water.

If you have any pre-existing medical conditions, are taking prescription medication or you are suffering from any injury or illness, then it is important that tour provider is made aware in-advance. If they deem it too dangerous or unsafe, they reserve the right to prohibit you entering the water or joining the tour and refunds will be issued. Please state within the medical conditions on the following page.

If you are pregnant, unfortunately, you are unable to join this tour.

If you are unable to walk on-board or are wheelchair bound, unfortunately, you are unable to join this tour.

when and where to meet?

This tour operates out of  Port Stephens, NSW.

Please meet promptly at 6:15 am , at address: Dock C, d’Albora Marina, Teramby Road, Nelson Bay, New South Wales, 2315. (Please wait at the large signboard (advertising the area’s activities), next to the entrance and a crew member will collect you).

Customers are contacted by phone/email the day prior to you tour (between 3pm and 5pm) to confirm whether the tour is going ahead.

You will receive a confirmation email upon purchasing this tour which will provide you with all of the relevant information, e.g. CONTACT NUMBERS,  ADDRESS ETC.

what to bring?

Please wear your swimmers ahead of arrival.  Towel, Water Bottle, Sunscreen (Reef safe, please), warm clothing/ windproof jacket, and polarised sunglasses are recommended for best viewing through the surface of the water.

Medication: (If you require to take medication throughout the duration of this tour, please remember to bring this with you. If you deem it necessary, please inform a member of staff, on board your vessel, where within your belongings this can be found).

Seasickness Medication – You may experience seasickness out on the open ocean. We suggest that you should speak with your pharmacist in advance of your trip, to seek their advice on seasickness medication. We will not reschedule bookings or issue refunds for those suffering from seasickness.

The vessel?

Step on board “ Imagine ”, a 52ft ocean-going catamaran. On board, there are changing facilities and a hot shower for refreshing yourself after your swim and ample dry storage to keep your possessions safe.

On board: Maximum 24 swimmers & 12 observers.

In-Water : Maximum of 6 swimmers are permitted to enter the water at one time.

cancellations?

Cancellations/changes to your booking must be made in writing directly to Salty Swims – Please contact Salty Swims  via email ([email protected]), or Facebook (via the chat icon linked to this page).

Please be aware that refund policies do not cover travel, accommodation or any other associated costs. We recommend you take out travel insurance to cover unforeseeable cancellations.

What if the tour provider cancels? In the event of poor sea conditions, minimum numbers not being reached or for any other reason, the tour operator reserves the right to cancel the tour. If your trip cannot be rescheduled to your satisfaction, you will receive a full refund.

What if you cancel?

If you wish to cancel your booking more than 7 days  from your departure, you’ll receive a full refund.

If you wish to cancel your booking between  48 hours – 7 days of your departure, 50% of your tour price will be charged.

If you wish to cancel/transfer your booking within 48 hours of your departure, you will not receive a refund.
