Planet Zoo recently released version 1.12 of the game on December 13, 2022 . The update comes with various fixes and some of the game’s new QoL (Quality of Life) tools, like Diorama Mode, Bulldozer Tool, and Guided Tours . If you don’t want to miss out on these important changes in your favorite game, this article will guide you.
Planet Zoo Update 1.12 | Guided Tours Tutorial & Overview
Planet Zoo is a simulation video game that’s similar to the Sims . This game allows you to build your park and maintain it as the number one tourist destination. The latest update makes the game more enjoyable and easier to play.
One of the features worth noting in Planet Zoo is the Bulldozer Tool which could remove large amounts of obstructions in your park. This tool aims to make building and to rebuild faster and more satisfying. The Diorama Mode , on the other hand, allows players to create a diorama of their zoo and share it with the rest of the game’s community via Steam Workshop .
Guided Tours
Guided Tours is the latest addition to the game that allows players to offer a more informative tour about their zoo. Players can completely customized and plan out their guests’ journey through your park by making use of a new Facility: Tour Points .
Tour Points can help players plot the destination and activities of their guests in the zoo. It can easily be done by Tour Points throughout the map. Putting them in an open space or tourist hot spots is highly recommended.
Once you’re done setting all your Tour Points, it’s time for the next step. Click on the Tour Point and go to the Tour Manager . From here, you can fully customized your Guided Tours and see any missing requirements for your tour to start.
The first requirement is selecting a starting point and is usually done on Tour Points near your zoo’s entrance. Once done, you are needed to click each Tour Points to plot the tour route for the 2 nd requirement.
Next requirement would be setting up a Tour Point where the tour route will end . You can put it behind your starting point if you want to put it that way.
To complete your Guided Tour requirement, you will need to assign species in some Tour Points you’ve added to the map. How it works is that your assigned guide will talk about the specific specie you’ve set in a given Tour Point.

Tour point inaccessible

Anyone else getting this message? I've had a couple tours now where they worked fine for a while, but the tour point became inaccessible later. I posted in the issue tracker site about this, so if anyone else has run into it, please add to it. I tried posting a screenshot to show what I mean, but the image is too large, evidently.
Renovations in honour of the zoo's 150th anniversary are ongoing, but the place should be in great shape in coming years. Huge flocks of feathered friends populate the central ponds, making for a pleasant stroll for birdwatchers. For a new perspective on Moscow’s nightlife, check out the nocturnal animal exhibit. Other highlights include the big cats (featuring Siberian tigers) and the polar bears. For more four-legged fun, follow the footbridge to see exhibits featuring animals from each continent.

San antonio zoo opens new dinosaur-themed adventure park, the park takes over the zoo from may 25 until sept. 2.

SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Zoo has announced the opening of a new park with 18 larger-than-life dinosaurs, according to a press release.
‘Dino Adventure Park, Presented by Bank of Texas, ' will take over the zoo from May 25 until Sept. 2.

The release said attendees can explore an ancient world with Tyrannosauruses, Mighty Triceratops, and even Velociraptors.
“Get ready to roar with excitement as we bring the wonders of the prehistoric era to life right here in San Antonio with Dino Adventure Park, Presented by Bank of Texas,” said Tim Morrow, President & CEO of SA Zoo.
Additionally, the park will offer a variety of engaging activities, including the opportunity to indulge in dinosaur-themed food and drinks and to be fascinated by 4-D shows.
Dinosaur George is scheduled to make a special guest appearance at the park on the following dates:
- Aug. 17 – 18

Not sure if they will spawn at the closest entrance or at a random one so multiple entries might be a challenge.

I am trying to make a tour and it's doing my head in! I place the "starting" point, and it's fine (in the middle of a path) as soon as I assign it to a tour it becomes inaccessable, i've tried trashing the tour and rebuilding, doing it on pause and during live game. Yeah, I had done that. I'd set up the whole tour, and then a few seconds in I'd get alerts that points were inaccessibile. It's weird because it worked fine in a previous zoo. This part I don't think is a bug so much as it just takes a moment for the system to fully register where you've placed everything.

Planet Zoo needs a HUGE animal expansion pack/foliage pack. To add 30-50 more animals in a single dlc. In order to come accross more realistically compared to other real zoos around the world. Great idea but impossible. Not in the actual condition, it is impossible to make a zoo with that level of detail in the game.
