Old Sacramento Waterfront is a popular destination for locals and tourists. It may be crowded and parking a vehicle can be time-consuming. We recommend you allow a minimum of 30 minutes after you arrive in Old Sacramento to park your vehicle and locate the boat. Boarding will begin 30 minutes prior to the cruise. Recommended parking is the Tower garage, a multi floor facility operated by the City of Sacramento – 1289 Front Street (corner of Capital and Front St.). An alternative parking garage is located across from the Train Museum – 125 I Street.

Who Done It?

An experience unlike any other, this Murder Mystery Dinner train is full of fun and intrigue – along with a delightful meal and dessert! Meet an interesting cast of characters who will draw you into their drama as they squabble, scheme, and, ultimately, murder each other. Use your detective skills to try and solve the case while you dine. Costumes are optional but encouraged for all keen to join in on the mystery and adventure.

Who can you accommodate for?

• Children : All children under 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
• Individuals with disabilities : Unfortunately, due to the historical nature of the train cars, the train is not wheelchair accessible. The experience provider is always happy to accommodate for disabilities in any way they can, however physical restrictions such as narrow corridors, steps, and uneven platforms may not allow for full access. 
• Dietary restrictions : Please make note of any dietary restrictions at the time of booking.
• Pets : Sorry, no pets allowed.

What to expect on the day of the experience?

• Duration : 2.5 hours
• What’s included: Train ticket, pre-assigned seating, murder mystery game, dinner, and dessert. If the VIP package is selected, you’ll receive a bottle of champagne and a commemorative gift per table.
• Who will be present : The train conductor and crew will be with you at all times as well as up to 175 total passengers.
• Spectators : No spectators are allowed, everyone must have a ticket.
• Photo/ video : Photos and video are encouraged!
• Specific rules to follow: No outside food or drinks, including alcoholic beverages, are allowed on the train, as well as no smoking.

How to prepare?

• Weather dependency : Rain or shine, the experience will be running.
• Arrival : Plan to arrive at least 30 minutes in advance. 
• Parking : There is parking available at the train station.
• What to wear: Comfortable and casual layered clothing is suggested to keep warm in the chilly months.
• What to bring: A valid government issued photo ID that matches the name on your reservation. 
• Restrooms/ lockers/ changing rooms : No lockers or changing rooms, but there are restrooms available on the train as well as at the train station.

The Murder Mystery Dinner Train invites you to step into a world where every passenger has a motive, and every clue could unravel the mystery. As you indulge in a sumptuous meal and delectable dessert, you'll find yourself in the midst of an unfolding story that blurs the lines between spectator and sleuth.

With a colorful cast of characters that could rival any classic whodunit, you'll witness squabbles turn into schemes and friendships dissolve into feuds, culminating in an unforgettable act of murder. But don't let the drama distract you too much from your dinner plate! You're not just here to eat; you're here to crack the case wide open. Don your detective hat (and perhaps a costume to really get into character) and dive into the mystery, piecing together clues with each course.

Returns, exchanges and cancellation

Unused Experience Vouchers can be returned within 30 days for a full refund to the original purchaser, no questions asked.

If you have any unused Experience Vouchers, you can exchange them for anything else in our marketplace, no matter when. If you choose an experience that's more expensive, you'll need to pay the difference, but if you choose one that costs less, you'll receive a credit towards your next booking.

No refunds are allowed once the experience is booked, but you can reschedule up to 72 hours before your experience, for a date within a year of the original booking. To reschedule, contact the experience provider directly. No-shows or rescheduling less than 72 hours in advance means losing the value of your experience.
