My wife and I included Mount Kenya Safari Club in our brief itinerary to the Highlands. Was worth it. Stayed in one of the lower cottages, beautiful view of Mount Kenya, lovely room and open fire each evening sealed the magic. The food and service were excellent. The staff were very attentive but unobtrusive. Only criticism was that the pond adjacent to the cottage had plastic and glass bottles floating in the water, pity that some guests didn’t take the trouble to the use the bins provided. Nonetheless, we would go again and highly recommended as a unique haven.

To be able to relax and appreciate the superb setting, the personal attention lavished on all our visitors, the numerous activities and the superb cuisine, one night is just not enough. Other activities include:

Heated Swimming Pool  – There is a large outdoor heated swimming pool, manned by a pool attendant from 7:00 to 6:00 p.m. The surrounds of the pool are an ideal venue for cocktail parties for 15 to 500 persons.

Rose Gardens  – Pay a visit to the Club’s beautiful rose gardens.

Animal Orphanage  – The animal orphanage managed by the neighbouring ranch and the William Holden Foundation can be visited from a special entrance in the Club grounds.

Local Excursions  – Guided game walks in the Sanctuary are scheduled daily at 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Clients are escorted by a naturalist, which makes for a very interesting two-hour walk, as the expert is a mine of information about the animals.
