MS Botticelli River Seine cruise.
We joined the MS Botticelli after supporting a family member in the Paris Marathon, the second time we have been on this particular cruise. The Botticelli is a hotel cruise boat catering for 154 passengers. The food is excellent, even though you don't get to choose what you would like. OK, there was an odd item on the plate that didn't suit my taste but you could easily leave it and still enjoy the rest of the dish. Everything was prepared and served with care and great attention to detail. The choices of all inclusive wines were very good. The staff are lovely, very helpful and obliging. The entertainment, by the crew, was a little old fashioned and typically french with a lot of emphasis on mime, but it made an interesting change. We will take a river cruise again, but in warmer weather so as to enjoy the sun deck and the odd trip ashore. Overall great value for money and very relaxing.
The bridges over the Seine are fabulous walkways to look at the boats, the lover's locks, sit on a bench and people watch, or just watch the river go by,
These are great ways to see Paris and if its cold the inside is cosy and heated, definelty do one as they are reasonably priced also and also come as part of the bus tours
A cruise down the Seine is one of the best ways of making sense of Paris. The tour guide's commentary really gives you a heads up of what's what and how to get from one end to the other. It's also got brilliant views.
We did an evening/night cruise on the Seine, a very memorable experience. It was very relaxing and the commentary was very good. Loved seeing the sights from on board and we got to see the Eiffel tower light up on the hour.
When walking around Paris the River Seine keeps you from getting lost! Walk along it and check out many museums on both banks. Keep walking and you will eventually hit most all of the sites from the Eiffel Tower to Notre Dame. The River itself is very murky. And winds blow constantly when you are near it. Have a jacket with you-you will need it!

MS Botticelli
The 151-passenger MS Botticelli has a decidedly European ambience: Passengers are mostly French, announcements and guided tours are conducted in multiple languages, and three-course meals embrace classic French cuisine.
Built in 2004 and last renovated in 2010, MS Botticelli lacks some of the upgrades of the line’s newest vessels but sufficiently covers the basics. On board, you’ll find a lounge for drinking cocktails, watching cabaret, and dancing; a dining room with fixed seating; and a sundeck where you can lounge with a glass of French wine as you watch the Seine's chalky cliffs and wooded banks go by.
Intimate Size: The ship carries just 151 guests, which makes it easy to get to know other passengers and feel tended to by the staff, who get to know your language preferences quickly.
Local Entertainment: Picture an evening of cabaret on board: a singer belting Edith Piaf’s “Non, Je ne regrette rien” to the accompaniment of an accordion and a backdrop of the sparkling Eiffel Tower.
French Cuisine: Expect multi-course meals with fanciful presentations and regional dishes, including rich and heavy classics such as foie gras, duck confit, and cheese plates.
Good Value: Though the ship doesn’t have marbled lobbies or spacious suites, the price won’t break the bank. Plus, you still get amenities like an open bar during and after meals, complimentary Wi-Fi, and some shore excursions.
Europhiles 60 and Up: It doesn't get more culturally immersive than touring France with French natives. And while the ship makes a point to welcome families on board, most passengers fall in the 60-and-up age range.
Art and History Lovers: MS Botticelli 's itinerary along the Seine retraces the path of impressionist-era painters such as Monet and his predecessor Eugène Boudin, and themed excursions tour the towns — Giverny, Honfleur — that inspired them. History buffs will relish the medieval ruins along the Seine, and for an extra charge, an excursion to the D-Day beaches of Normandy.
Tight Bathrooms: Don’t expect much from the bathroom, other than that it works. The small shower — separate from the rest of the room by a curtain — doesn't offer much elbow room.
Fixed Menus: There aren't any choices on the menus — everyone gets the same dishes. If you have allergies or dietary restrictions, it’s best to inform the staff in advance.

CroisiEurope's Botticelli, a 151-passenger vessel based on the Seine, operates on one of Europe's most famous rivers. At 360 feet long, Botticelli is the smaller version of CroisiEurope's other three-deck European ships. However, instead of providing the same ratio of cabins in relation to the size, the line has reduced the number of staterooms on Botticelli to provide more spacious public areas. There are 75 cabins, which are situated on the main and upper decks. They all have floor-to-ceiling picture windows and include wide-screen TVs, hair dryers, safes and air-conditioning. In addition to the two cabin decks, there's also a sun deck, and other public areas include a panoramic lounge and bar. CroisiEurope places a lot of emphasis on its French heritage, and meals onboard are inspired by France's culinary tradition. Three-course lunches and dinners feature many of the country's classic dishes. Alain Bohn, the company's head chef, is a member of the gastronomic culinary association Maîtres Cuisiniers de France, which champions French food and drink. CroisiEurope has introduced an all-inclusive "open bar," and fares now include complimentary drinks from the bar in addition mineral water, fruit juice and coffee during the day and house wine, beer and drinks with meals. It excludes Champagne and drinks on the wine list.
