Kelly Ripa Sets 3 Dates for Upcoming Book Tour

Kelly Ripa  announced the first dates of her book tour to promote Live Wire: Long-Winded Short Stories , on Monday. All three are in the vicinity of New York City and one stop features her husband, Mark Consulos . Anderson Cooper will join her for one date, while Bethenny Frankel will be present at the third stop.

The first tour date is at the County Basie Center for the Arts in Red Bank, New Jersey on Wednesday, Sept. 28. Consulos will join Ripa to chat about the book. Tickets for the event will be available on Tuesday at 10 a.m. ET .

Ripa  and Cooper will take the stage at Symphony Space in Manhattan on Thursday, Sept. 29. Tickets for their appearance will go on sale Friday, Aug. 5 at 10 a.m. ET . Symphony Space members can get tickets on Wednesday. The third announced date is set for Friday, Sept. 30. Frankel and Ripa will appear at the Theatre at Westbury in Long Island. Tickets for this date will also be available on Tuesday at 10 a.m. ET .

Ripa announced the memoir on Live with Kelly and Ryan in April . Ripa said it took 18 months to finish the book. It will be released on Sept. 27 by Dey Street Books, a HarperCollins imprint. The book is described as a collection of personal essays about "childhood, motherhood, marriage, her career and the intersection of all the above – putting her thoughtfulness, assertiveness and deep understanding of the dynamics of gender and power on full display." The publisher teased "sharp, funny, and honest" stories from Ripa that highlight her "many dimensions and crackling wit."

On Live , Ripa told co-host Ryan Seacrest  she did not work with a co-worker or ghostwriter, as many celebrities do. "I did not use a co-writer. I did not use a ghost-write," Ripa insisted. "If you were to look at the Google searches on my phone right now, you would find things like, 'Synonyms for good.' 'What is a semicolon.' I'm not kidding!"

Ripa also admitted  she dreaded the book's release, which might be why she chose to schedule tour dates with her famous friends. "It's horrible. I'm dreading it. It's like, I keep referencing Kal Penn because he said it best to me," Ripa told Seacrest in April. "When he was here promoting his book, and you had told him I was writing my book. He said to me, 'What level of self-loathing are you?' And I said, 'I've been actively dreaming of trashing the manuscript and giving them their manuscript back.' And he goes, 'You're almost done.'"

Live Wire isn't Ripa's only new project outside Live. She's also hosting the gameshow Generation Gap   for ABC. Ripa's father, Joe Ripa, is regularly appearing on the show, which Ripa says he didn't know when he signed up to appear on the show. Last week, Ripa told Seacrest her father wants  to "renegotiate his deal" with ABC after learning he was in more than one episode. Joe is featured in a segment called "What is Joe Ripa Trying to Sing?" and contestants have to guess the song. Generation Gap airs on ABC Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET.

After 30 years in Hollywood and over two decades dedicated to Live With Kelly and Ryan , fans have been wondering if Kelly Ripa is planning to leave the daytime show she co-hosts alongside Ryan Seacrest. As of now, Ripa hasn’t said anything about leaving Live , but she is expanding her horizons.

The 51-year-old is making career moves with her new ABC game show Generation Gap . And, in what little time she has to herself, Ripa has spent her off-air hours working on her new book. To add to her ever-growing list of to-dos, the star recently announced on Instagram that she’ll be hitting the road to promote her book.

Ripa’s debut book Live Wire: Long-Winded Short Stories is available for pre-order and is set to be released on September 27 in hardcover, audiobook, and a Kindle edition. To kick off the book tour, Ripa posted an image of the book’s cover to her Instagram account with details of the upcoming tour dates. “Equal parts thrilled and nervous to announce my book tour for LIVE WIRE this fall. A BOOK TOUR. Imagine that,” she captioned the image. “I’ll be joined by some riveting, not to mention sexy guests.”

The collection of Ripa’s real-life stories follows her as a wife, mother, daughter, and professional in the public eye. The book includes intimate details of how she and her husband, Mark Consuelos, met, the prejudice she has experienced on set, her love for her home state of New Jersey, and some hysterically embarrassing moments her fans can’t wait to dig into, according to the book description on Amazon .

Fans shared their excitement for the talk show host. “WOW 💕” wrote one follower, “Done! I cannot wait!!!!! Love some Kelly Ripa!!” wrote another. And famous friends were quick to jump in to congratulate Ripa on the news, too. Talk show host Andy Cohen commented, “THIS BOOK IS FANTASTIC!!!” with clapping emojis, television personality Garcelle Beauvais added, “Can’t wait!!!,” and actress Marisol Nichols wrote, “This is amazing!” Others like actress Lisa Rinna chimed in with, “YES PLEASE!!!,” Jenna Dewan added, “This is amazing!!!,” and Bethenny Frankel commented, “I will be there with BELLS ON!”

We’re hoping Ripa’s hint at “sexy guests” will not only include her dashingly handsome husband, but also other celeb buddies. But for now, Consuelos excitedly jumped into the comments to write, “Can’t wait!!!” and even posted a teaser for the tour on his own Instagram account. “Honored and extremely proud to be joining my fave @kellyripa in NJ for her #LiveWire Book Tour!,” he captioned the image.

Ripa first announced the book on her Instagram account in April, revealing its cover and release date. “My husband said writing a book is like giving birth. He’s never done either,” she joked in the caption. “Although, it would be like giving birth if giving birth last 18 months. A labor of love nonetheless. Preorder for those who love long-winded short stories”

Consuelos and Ripa just celebrated their 26th wedding anniversary and have always been supporters of each other in their professional and personal lives. Recently, Ripa shared her thoughts on her husband’s newly shaved head for summer amid a worldwide heatwave.

The duo also loves to stay fit and active together. Fans loved seeing photos of the couple rock climbing on vacation in Utah and Colorado.

While we love their love, we can’t wait to get our hands on Ripa’s book, and to see what “sexy guests” make an appearance during the tour!

Kelly Ripa's 'Live Wire' book tour coming to Chicago's Athenaeum Center

CHICAGO (WLS) -- TV personality and talk show host Kelly Ripa is now adding "author" to her list of accomplishments.

The host of "Live with Kelly and Ryan" said her new book called " Live Wire " is a collection of short stories from her journals about her life from childhood to working her way into New York City.

"It's really very personal, very poignant," Ripa said. "I hope people take a lot of humor away from it, and maybe learn a little more about me possibly than what they know from watching the morning show."

Kelly Ripa will be in Chicago Saturday, Oct. 8 at the Athenaeum Center on Southport. Tickets are available online .

And it's not the first time Ripa has visited Chicago over marathon weekend.

"I was in the Chicago Marathon once, but not really," Ripa said. "We went on an eating tour, which was the greatest. The pizza is unbearably delicious and as a transplant New Yorker for almost 35 years, it's hard for me to acknowledge anyone else's pizza."

Emmy Award-winning daytime host and actress Kelly Ripa is taking a few personal days away from her usual Monday to Friday gig on " Live with Kelly and Ryan " to celebrate the release of her first book, " Live Wire: Long-Winded Short Stories " (Dey Street Books/HarperCollins Publishers.)

Ripa will swing through Louisville with her " Live Wire Book Tour " for a performance at the Brown Theatre , 315 W. Broadway. The show starts at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 9. Tickets start at $30 and are available at kentuckycentre.org

Her book, "Live Wire," is a series of personal essays laid out across 14 chapters. During her book tour, Ripa will share stories from those essays on stage. In Louisville, she'll be joined by actor Justin Sylvester.

Audiences can expect Ripa to tell stories about her childhood in New Jersey, and her years as an actress on the soap opera "All My Children." She'll talk about meeting her husband Mark Consuelos , also an actor in "All My Children," and their own three children.

The talk show host doesn't mince words when talking about, eh, chauvinism , she experienced while working in media. And undoubtedly you'll hear about Ripa's relationship with the late Regis Philbin, her first co-host on "Live."

Kelly Ripa announced some exciting news during her time off from Live

While fans in those areas are excited, others couldn't help but express their disappointment that Kelly wasn't going to make it to their cities - especially those living in Ann Arbor, Michigan, which is where Kelly and her husband Mark Consuelos regularly frequent now that their son Joaquin studies there.

Kelly Ripa Responds to Fan Demand and Adds 3 New Stops to Her Book Tour This Fall

Kelly Ripa is an actress , talk show host and mother , but recently, the Live with Kelly and Ryan star took on a totally new role: author . We've been anxiously awaiting the release of Ripa's first-ever book , Live Wire (which comes out on September 27), and now, Ripa's built the hype even more by announcing a small book tour to go along with the release.

While the tour was originally only supposed to be three stops in New York and New Jersey, the Live host apparently received requests for even more, and she happily obliged. “You asked for it, you got it: we just added three more stops to my book tour for LIVE WIRE!” Ripa wrote in a new Instagram post. “I hope to see you in one of these cities! Head to the link in bio to learn more. Tickets are on sale now! Xx Kelly.”

It seems we weren't the only ones who were excited by the opportunity to meet Ripa.

Fellow celebs filled the comments section of the post, showing their anticipation for the tour. Former Murphy Brown actress Faith Ford wrote, “Awesome!” And news anchor David Muir added, “Look for me in line.”

Of course, Ripa's husband, Mark Consuelos, wasn't going to stay silent. He showed his love in the comments too, writing, “Can’t wait for this interview!!!”

Ripa first announced the book's release date back in April and shared a photo on Instagram with the caption, “My husband said writing a book is like giving birth. He's never done either. Although it would be like giving birth, if giving birth lasted 18 months. A labor of love nonetheless. Preorder for those who love long winded short stories. Link in Bio. #LiveWireBook.”

The talk show host will be promoting Live Wire along with a few special guests. She'll begin at the Count Basie Center for the Arts in Red Bank, New Jersey on September 28, where she will be joined by her husband (Consuelos). She will then stop at the Symphony Space in New York City on September 29 with Anderson Cooper, followed by a visit to the Theatre at Westbury in Long Island on September 30 with Bethenny Frankel.

Now, she has added stops at the Michigan Theater in Ann Arbor, Michigan on October 7, the Athenaeum Center for Thought & Culture in Chicago, Illinois on October 8 and the Kentucky Center in Louisville, Kentucky on October 9.

Live’s Kelly Ripa struggles to sell tickets to book tour as New York venue remains half empty

LIVE's Kelly Ripa has been struggling to sell tickets to her book tour as the New York venue she's speaking at is more than half empty. 

Kelly , 51, whose tome Live Wire: Long Winded Short Stories is coming out September 27th, has three book tour dates at venues in the northeast, with the final tour date showing abysmal sales so far. 

The first date immediately following the release, which is being co-headlined with her husband and actor Mark Consuelos , 51, in New Jersey , appears to be sold fairly well, but with a majority of the balcony area still available with tickets going from $39 to $305 each. 

The talk show host's second date with CNN star Anderson Cooper in locationally desirable Manhattan is nearly sold out but it's the smallest of the three venues.

However, the Live with Kelly and Ryan host's last date in the tour featuring reality star Bethenny Frankel as the special guest appears to be less than half sold, and that's after Live Nation did a promotional by-one-get-one deal last week.  

The undersold event takes place in Westbury Long Island on Friday, September 30th with tickets going from $75 to $129 a pop, and the promotional deal appears to no longer be offered.

A source familiar with the workings of the tour however told The U.S. Sun that the sales of the shows are in line with the expectations thus far.

"The majority of tickets are sold the week before these types of events in response to increased awareness from additional promotion from the participants and fans focusing on their own short-term schedules," the source added.

Meanwhile, her book itself has caught plenty of advanced buzz ahead of its big release later this month.

HIGHLY ANTICIPATED RELEASE 

Kelly penned the tell-all book,  Live Wire: Long-Winded Short Stories , which is out later this month.

The outlet  Haute Living  shared a sneak peek with interested readers on Friday.

She shared in one NSFW moment that he is "such a c**ksman that he made me pass out," among other raunchy surprises. 

'IT WAS THE BEST CHAPTER' 

But in teasing her book about life, love, her popular daytime talk show, and more- she also disclosed that one chapter didn't make it past her man. 

She told the publication: "There was only one chapter that he told me I could never, ever put into that book, or any book, and I took it out.

"I respected him, I respected it, and I was like, ‘I hear you, even though it’s the best chapter. I’ll honor your request to take it out.’" 

She continued: “It was about a transition period in our marriage. 

"It wasn’t the empty-nest transition, but an earlier one, and that’s all I can really say about it without him breaking down the door and somehow knowing I’m even discussing it." 

RAUNCHY READ

Kelly and Mark  married in a quickie $179 wedding  in Las Vegas in 1996. 

The couple- who met in 1995 on the soap opera All My Children- were both based in New York City. 

Kelly did write about the "passing out" incident at length, which occurred in 1997, about six months after the birth of her first child, during an early-morning love-making sesh. 

She lost consciousness for a scary reason, however - there were two large cysts growing on her ovaries. 

“Sex can be so traumatic I think, and yet one of us is completely undaunted,” she wrote in a teased portion about regaining consciousness in a hospital," she explained.

“There he [Consuelos] is, happily munching on the saltines now and ordering a second apple juice. 

“Mark could be at a movie or a spa. Instead, I’m flat on my back wondering when the other two cysts will burst.” 

After rushing her to the hospital, Kelly said she realized Mark had "dressed me like a dime store prostitute in my time of need" - involving "a 1980s-style French-cut leotard and red 'f*ck me' Manolo Blahniks." she wrote. 

She added: "It’s still baffling to me to this day that this is the best costume for the day that he could find for me, to the point where, when I was on the stretcher, I thought I was dreaming; I was having a nightmare."

"I didn’t realize I had come to." 

'TO SAVE OUR MARRIAGE' 

Earlier this year, Kelly made news for sharing a raunchy Instagram photo checking out her husband's butt . 

Her first-ever book sees her proudly exploring this fun, sex-positive side. 

And it was actually Mark who wanted her to write it - the stakes were high, she also cryptically shared. 

“Mark was my biggest champion in the whole process,” Kelly told Haute Living. 

“He read it with the eye of not just a person reading it because they had to save their own marriage, but with the eye of a reader." 

Kelly and Mark have  three children together  - daughter Lola, 21, and sons Michael, 25, and Joaquin, 19. 

They celebrated  their 26th wedding anniversary  on May 1. 

Kelly paid tribute to the day with a photo of the loved-up pair cuddling and called Mark the "love of my life." 

Speaking of milestones, this week, she and  Ryan Seacrest  celebrated the fifth anniversary of hosting their talk show and her co-host  teared up quite sweetly.

Kelly ripa book tour kicks off in red bank, the tv star and new jersey native will be in red bank at the count basie center for the arts on sept. 28 to promote her book, "live wire.".

RED BANK, NJ — Kelly Ripa will embark on her "Live Wire" book tour on Sept. 28 at the Count Basie Center for the Arts, the organization announced.

Ripa's first book, "Live Wire: Long-Winded Short Stories" (Dey Street Books/HarperCollins Publishers) goes on sale Sept. 27.

Tickets to her appearance at the Basie go on sale at 10 a.m. this Friday, Aug. 5, said Jonathan E. Vena, chief marketing officer for the Basie.

Tickets for the event may be purchased through theBASIE.org, the Basie Center box office and Ticketmaster. Count Basie Center members were able to begin ticket purchases as of Wednesday, Vena said.

Ripa, who was born and raised in Camden County, will be joined on her upcoming book tour by special guests, including her husband, Mark Consuelos, on Sept. 28. She will be joined by CNN host Anderson Cooper the next day in a New York City event.

"Kelly will share her sharp, funny, and honest real-life stories showing the many dimensions and crackling wit of the beloved daytime talk show host. Every ticket includes a copy of "Live Wire," the news release from Vena said.

According to information about the book in the news release, in "Live Wire" Ripa "shows what really makes her tick. As a professional, as a wife, as a daughter and as a mother, she brings a hard-earned wisdom and an eye for the absurdity of life to every minute of every day. It is her relatability in all of these roles that has earned her fans worldwide and millions of followers on social media."

Before Kelly Ripa ’s new book Live Wire hits bookshelves (pssst, it officially comes out on September 27), the daytime talk show host is sharing a small excerpt with her followers on social media.

On Instagram, the Live with Kelly and Ryan host decided to post a small quote from her upcoming book. In the short snippet, Ripa explained how difficult it is to be a parent, especially in the digital age. She wrote in the caption, “EXTRA! EXTRA! Read all about it. Parenting while working: The juggle is real.”

Ripa poked fun at her three children— Joaquin (19), Lola (21) and Michael (25)—and how they would likely respond in an emergency. The quote read: “My kids wouldn’t notice I needed help until they were hungry or needed money and even then, I’m certain they would call Postmates first and then 911.” (#Priorities)

In the comments section, fans revealed that they’re genuinely excited to read more of the book. One person wrote, “SIS!!!!!! CANNOT WAIT FOR YOUR BOOK!!!!!!!” with a pink heart emoji. Another said, “Girl I can relate [laughing emoji] Can’t wait to read.” 

Even her husband, Mark Consuelos , had to show his love in the comments, writing, “Let’s go!!!”

Earlier this month, Ripa announced that she is going on a small book tour to celebrate the official release. Alongside a picture of her book cover and tour dates, she wrote in the caption, “Equal parts thrilled and nervous to announce my book tour for LIVE WIRE! this fall. A BOOK TOUR! Imagine that. I’ll be joined by some riveting, not to mention sexy guests so head to the link in bio to learn more. Tickets go on sale Friday. Can’t wait to see you. Xx, Kelly.”

Kelly Ripa Re-Wears Skirt from 20 Years Ago on Live : 'We Wedged Me Into It'

Kelly Ripa is not afraid to be an outfit repeater.

The 53-year-old talk show host pulled an item out of the archives for the Thursday, June 6, episode of Live with Kelly and Mark and while it appears to fit her perfectly, she joked that getting into it was quite the struggle.

"I found this skirt in the closet downstairs," Ripa told the audience, referencing her cream midi-length pencil skirt, which she wore with a white button down top.

"We figure it’s probably about 20 years old, and we rolled the dice," she continued. "And you know, we buttered up my legs and we wedged me into it. But I just realized as I sat down in the chair — skirt might not make it."

Pointing at the skirt's subtle pattern, Ripa's co-host and husband, Mark Consuelos , said, "It has like a little sacrum beetle on it, some bees, some flies. I like it very much."

Ripa then joked, "If this skirt could talk it would scream for help."

It's not clear exactly how old the skirt is or when Ripa has worn it in the past, but sleuths on Pinterest dug up a photo of the former soap star in which she appears to be wearing it.

In the photo, Ripa wears a similar white button-down top, though her hair is cut into a chin-grazing bob. It seems likely that it's not a recent photo, but it's not known when exactly it was taken.

On the Wednesday, June 5 episode of Live with Kelly and Mark, Ripa candidly shared that a recent hair coloring session failed to cover up her grays .

"It's still gray," she complained to Consuelos.

"It's not gray," he countered.

Ripa then shared that she spent "about 11-teen hours in the hair color chair" the day prior, but despite efforts, her hair was still gray.

"We sprayed my roots this morning," she explained for why you couldn't actually see the gray hairs. "We sprayed the roots with the darkening spray. So I don’t know what to do at this point. Do I just become full Mrs. Claus, or what am I doing?"

Consuelos encouraged his wife to "try out the gray," but she insisted, "I don't think I'm there yet." "I told you, my hair isn't like, it's not a great gray," Ripa explained. It's almost translucent. It's like my hair is see-through. What is it called? Those cellophane noodles. That's what my hair looks like. What do I do with that?"

Kelly Ripa recalled being around a “remarkable” moment in history on this morning’s Live with Kelly and Mark .

She and Mark Consuelos welcomed George Stephanopoulos this morning, who discussed his book, The Situation Room: The Inside Story of Presidents in Crisis . As for what inspired the former Democratic advisor to craft the book, he said “the title,” noting that once he “heard that no one had ever really done a popular history, [he] dove in immediately, and it was an incredibly fun project.”

Consuelos eventually brought up the famous picture taken in 2011 during the takedown of Osama bin Laden, which features then president and VP Barack Obama and Joe Biden , as well as members of the national security team, such as Hillary Clinton .

“Is that the Situation Room?” Consuelos asked, to which Stephanopoulos clarified that it was “a room right off the Situation Room.”

“It’s part of the Situation Room complex, but it was the only place they could get the video feed,” he shared. “And that’s why everybody sort of migrated into that room once that officer was giving them a live feed from what was happening in Pakistan. It has become now the most iconic photo ever taken in the Situation Room, and what a night that was for the country.”

Ripa chimed in, “We tell the kids about this, because, you know, they always talk about that night and where were you and do you remember it. And nobody believes me when I tell them this. I mean, in my family, nobody believes it, but we were at the White House.”

Stephanopoulos asked, “They let you in that day?”

Ripa recalled, “So we were doing a Run Across America, and we were working with Michelle Obama at the time. It was about getting kids moving and getting fit. And I said to [ Live producer] Jan [Schillay], ‘We are leaving.’ I started packing up. I’m like, we’re going home. They’re going to send us out of here. They were like, ‘No, we are doing this. They are doing that, and we are doing this.’ And I was amazed.”

Stephanopoulos noted that it was “such a consequential weekend,” as that was also “right after the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, when President Obama had taken on Donald Trump .”

“We were at that dinner sitting with the White House Chief of Staff and the National Security Advisor, who were just on their phones the whole night long,” he said. “And Eric Stonestreet from Modern Family was also at our table. They did not let him go on Sunday. He was complaining that his White House tour had been canceled, and they were saying, ‘Oh, the plumbing’s not working.'”

Ripa replied, “Listen, I was the first one, I was like, ‘We’ll just show ourselves out. You don’t have to worry.'”

Stephanopoulos told Ripa, “What a special time to be there,” after which she called the experience “remarkable.”

“It was a remarkable time, and we really felt like we were a part of history,” she shared.

Tour Inside Kelly Ripa’s Lavish Home in New York City With Husband Mark Consuelos [Photos]

Are Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos taking tenants? You might be asking yourself that question after setting your eyes on their lavish home in New York City!

The Live With Kelly and Ryan cohosts have been living in an extravagant penthouse on the Upper East Side of Manhattan since 2013. The longtime couple purchased the townhouse on East 76th Street for $27 million from fashion mogul Luca Orlandi and his wife, supermodel Oluchi Onweagba .

Kelly and Mark moved into the gorgeous 7,796 square-foot mansion after the TV star pointed out that their former home on Crosby Street in SoHo felt a little crowded. By the time they put the home on the market in 2015, it sold for $20 million, though the original asking price was $24.5 million.

According to the New York Daily News , the house was built in 1882 and features five bedrooms and six bathrooms.

Kelly and Mark decorated a gorgeous Christmas tree with colorful lights and ornaments in 2021. The pair dressed their dogs up in matching holidays sweaters for their fun festivities.
