Kedarnath is a city in Rudraprayag District in the State of Uttarakhand in India and has gained significance because of the Kedarnath Temple. It’s roughly 86 kilometres from Rudraprayag, the quarter headquarter. It’s a Nagar panchayat in the Rudraprayag quarter. Kedarnath is the most remote of the four Chota Char Dham pilgrimage spots. It’s located in the Himalayas, about 3,583 m (11,755 ft) above ocean position near the Chorabari Glacier, which is the source of the Mandakini swash. The city is adjoined by snow- limited peaks, utmost prominently the Kedarnath Mountain. The nearest road head is at Gaurikund about 16 km down.

The views from Kedarnath are some of the stylish views of the Himalayan range you’ll get, along with blooming rhododendrons, vast geographies and green timbers. Along with Kedarnath, we also take you to Chopta, which is the mecca of numerous trekking spots. We’ll take you to Deoriatal, which is a high altitude lake which is 4kms hike from Chopta.

Alternatively, one can take a train from Mumbai to Haridwar or Rishikesh and then take a taxi or bus from there to Kedarnath.

How To Reach Kedarnath From Mumbai

There are no direct flights or any trains or buses between Mumbai to Kedarnath.

There are various ways to reach Sonprayag. And after that, Kedarnath Temple is only 19 km away from Sonprayag.

So you can sum up the distance between Mumbai to Kedarnath is approx. 1912 km.

Best Way to Reach Kedarnath

It does not matter whether you are traveling by train, air, or by road, Haridwar and Rishikesh are the main points from where you have to start your journey to the hilly area.

Mumbai ➜ Dehradun Airport or Haridwar or Rishikesh ➜ Sonprayag ➜ Gaurikund ➜ then finally Trek to Kedarnath Temple.

Remember that Gaurikund is the last motorized place by road to Kedarnath. After that, you have to complete the 16 km-long treks by yourself. It depends on your fitness and how much time you take to complete it. Generally, the 16 km long trek takes an average of 5–6 hrs by the normal adult.

There are some other options also like helicopter services, horses, and palanquins available for booking to complete the Kedarnath trek.

Mumbai To Kedarnath By Road

The distance between Mumbai to Kedarnath Temple by road is approx. 1915 km. So this is not a suitable way to go there by road, As it will be very difficult and tiring to drive that much distance.

How to reach Kedarnath From Mumbai by Flight :

Dehradun Airport is 238 km away from Kedarnath and is connected to Delhi on daily basis flights. You can choose any flight connecting to Dehradun Airport from Mumbai Airport.

Once you reached Dehradun after that you have various options for transport. From Dehradun itself or you can go to Rishikesh which is 20 Km away from Dehradun Airport.

By booking a taxi or local transport to Sonprayag, your journey will be in the beautiful range of the Himalayan mountains along with the holy river Ganga flowing beside the Highway.

Generally, It is a 5-6 hours long journey from Dehradun Airport to Sonprayag/Gaurikund.

After reaching Gaurikund which is 5 km away from Sonprayag, the Kedarnath trek of 16 km begins.
