DPR: The Regime World Tour happening in Manila

  • November 17, 2022
  • 1 minute read

Wake up, dreamers! DPR is officially bringing The Regime World Tour to the Philippines. After hinting Asia-Pacific dates in their tour announcement last April, the entire gang is prepped to take the stage and make their highly anticipated Manila debut on November 30 at The Festival Tent, Alabang .

Formed in 2015, Dream Perfect Regime (DPR) is as “a fully independent entertainment label, reduced down to just a group of friends with an honest dream.” Composed of a rapper, producer, filmmaker, and a whole lot of achievers, their ambitions were fully realized upon dropping DPR LIVE’s hit debut EP Coming To You Live in 2017.

What started out as an honest dream quickly spun into an ardent passion that resonates with millions of fans around the world. From their (DPR LIVE, DPR IAN, and DPR CREAM) collaborative EP entitled DPR ARCHIVES to DPR IAN’s recent sophomore efforts with Moodswings In To Order , DPR has a lot more to show — so don’t you dare sleep on these dreamers.

Concerts, gigs, live performances and other musical events, dreams came true in dpr: regime world tour in manila, coming to you live: dpr: regime world tour in manila.

Setting the Dreamer’s dreams a reality, the collaborative and multi-genre music, and video group, the DPR gang made their Manila debut as a part of their Asian-Pacific leg of the DPR: Regime World Tour at the Filinvest Tent in Alabang on November 30, 2022.

The event headlines DPR Live, DPR Ian, and DPR Cream who electrified thousands of their fans, each act showcasing their own uniqueness and creativity while staying true to their purpose in music: engaging all audiences by actualizing a distinctive audiovisual experience.

Dressed and glammed up, the dreamers showed their enthusiasm for the group’s long-awaited performances, cheering even before the show even started and successfully executing multiple small fan projects that signify a piece of DPR in their career.

dpr regime tour manila

Cream Colored Drive

Grasping the first set, DPR Cream brought his producer skills by setting off the mood for the night, with the trancelike music he played on stage. With nothing but a laptop and his keyboard, Cream showcased his impressive remixing skills in creating music, already giving the fans a treat, albeit his short set with the dreamers.

dpr regime tour manila

Coming to you LIVE

Making his landing on stage, Hong Dabin, famously known as DPR Live, immediately made the crowd jump with his song “LEGACY”, energizing the room with his electrifying performance and giving a nod to the music video of the song in an orange jumpsuit. Staying on theme, an enormous astronaut balloon appeared behind him while performing the songs “S.O.S.” and “NEON”, all three songs coming from his first studio album IS ANYBODY OUT THERE?

After the visually pleasing space-themed shtick, he breezed through some of DPR’s previous tracks from the ‘archives’, “thirst”, and from his first mini album Coming To You Live, “Cheese & Wine”, “Know Me” and “Laputa.”

Live had a small sit down with the dreamers and threw roses to the crowd as he serenaded them with the song “VENUS.” He also grooved and flirted with the fans while dancing freely and performing the songs “Kiss Me” and “Jasmine”, which are known classics in his discography.

Jam and Butterflies in your stomach

Live made the Filipino fans extra special as he reminisced that his first crush ever was a Filipina while growing up in Guam. He noted as well that it “…feels like home going here (in Manila)” as he also shared that his best friend growing up is a Filipino. With this, he performed “Jam and Butterfly”, and transitioned to “Yellow Cab” and in return, the fans made him feel extra special by waving pink wigs, also a reference from the song’s music video.

He then promised they will definitely return but left the fans for now and asked the dreamers to “…text me when you’re free”, an excerpt of lyrics from his song “Text Me.”

It was a back-and-forth gimmick from Live and the fans as he let them have fun with transparent lifebuoys he threw to the crowd during his fun and the jumpy song “Hula Hoops.” He also tapped on “Summer Tights”, and “Geronimo”. Of course, a fitting song to perform is “Martini Blue” while a portion of the dreamers also enjoyed liquor drinks and Live capped his set with DPR Cline joining him on stage with the song “Set It Off”, a track they created for League of Legends, specifically the South Korean region LCK for the 2022 Mid-Season Invitational online battle arena.

dpr regime tour manila

A Fallen Angel

Following DPR Live, a completely different set was performed by Christian Yu or known as DPR Ian, who let the fans have an immersive, intense experience from the get-go. Coming on stage with a horned costume and transforming into a fallen angel, DPR Ian gave the crowd a chilling intro while “Mito” is playing, which is also the intro song of his first album, Moodswings in this Order . In two tracks coming from the same album, Ian danced to “So Beautiful” and “Dope Lovers” while unveiling his bedazzled jacket and accentuated red eye makeup, making him even more ethereal looking than we are already used to.

In between the songs, he mentioned how he feels so much of the energy the Filipino crowd is giving, leaving a great first impression as he emphasized that this is his first time in the Philippines. We’re off to a great start, am I right dreamers?

He continued his setlist by plucking some songs from his newly released second album, Moodswings In to Order , “Avalon”, and “Miss Understood”. One of the biggest treats the dreamers tasted from Ian was bringing off “Calico” while dancing under his fedora hat and then proceeding off in playing the bass. We can all agree that not only Ian is a charismatic performer, but also a multi-talented beast, and this kind of eccentricity gracing the Philippine live stage is something that doesn’t happen often.

Ballroom Extravaganza

It’s safe to say that DPR Ian’s stages are a different experience than most artists and he proved this throughout the night with the diverse stages he carried out.

The room’s temperature just got a little higher as Ian takes off his jacket and comfortably presented “Sometimes I’m.” The fast-paced 12th track from his second album is not an easy song to sing but he was able to nail it with the fans singing along, matching his energy. And literally setting the stage on fire, he enacted “1 Shot”, turning the whole room red and even more steamy than the last.

Also a natural storyteller, Ian became intimate and shared his insecurities and fears with the fans on how he hated being in the spotlight and was grateful that the fans let him overcome it by letting him share his stories through art. With this, he performed the song “Scaredy Cat” with another stage gimmick that is visually appealing as multiple hands appeared on the curtain behind him while performing.

Another impressive stunt he made was when a giant hand grabbed Ian backstage after performing “Ribbon”, a rather funky tune that will want you to get up and dance.

He returned a few minutes later wearing a black oversized fur jacket and performed “Mr. Insanity”, driving the fans a little over the edge. And probably the best stage he has done for the evening was setting the stage on snow while doing a modern interpretative dance of “Winterfall”, slowing it down to set the mood while “snow” drops on him, showing a perfect picture-perfect moment every second.

DPR Regime World Tour in Manila

He finished his set strong with incredible performances of “Nerves” and “Ballroom Extravaganza” before DPR Live joined him on stage.

Together, the duo sang “No Blueberries”, which is probably Ian’s biggest hit, and bid the fans goodbye for the night.

Manila Officially Part of the DPR Gang

Of course, the ensemble cannot end the concert easily without performing the song that made the group’s mark in the music industry as the fans jumped in honor of the song “To Myself” with the chant “DPR WE GANG GANG!” The whole group: DPR Live, DPR Ian, DPR Cream, and joined by DPR Cline, and the whole DPR crew joined the dreamers with a final photo.

The multi-faceted crew closed off the night with a promise that they will return, as Ian undoubtedly became impressed with the Filipino fans saying, “The best so far!” and of course, the members of the crew saying, “Mahal kita!”

The Filipino dreamers answered back with much enthusiasm to this, creating a long-lasting bond with the team, and as passionate as ever, the fans will wait for another concert, hopefully soon and surely with the right hunger in continuing to support the group for releases and more aesthetically pleasing audio-visual art in the future.

DPR Live reveals his first crush is a Filipina; DPR Ian tells Pinoy fans "mahal kita"

dpr regime tour manila

Filipino DREAMers are still reeling over Dream Perfect Regime's (DPR) first-ever concert in Manila.

DPR treated their fans to amazing performances during their DPR: The Regime Tour held on November 30, 2022, at the Filinvest Tent in Alabang, Muntinlupa City.

DPR is a South Korean artist collective known for its performances, music, and videography.

The group has five core members: DPR Live, DPR, Ian, DPR Cream, DPR Cline, and DPR Rem.

Read related story: Everything you need to know about DPR's first-ever concert in Manila

Here are the highlights of DPR's first-ever Manila concert:

DPR gave their fans a full concert experience during their Manila concert.

As DPR Rem had said on what fans can expect from the show , DPR transformed their concert venue into a "DPR Theme Park."

The pre-show music and lights really prepared their avid fans for the otherworldly performances they were about to witness.

DPR Cream went on first and emerged onstage with what appeared to be a lit incense stick. The 34-year-old music producer set the tone of the concert with his dreamy remixes and melodies on a synth keyboard.

Toward the end, he told his Filipino fans, "Thank you so much for coming."

DPR Cream's set lasted for around 30 minutes and he ended it with a rearranged version of his song "Problems."

South Korean rapper Hong Da Bin, better known as DPR Live, took his Filipino fans on a trip to the moon during his set at DPR: The Regime Tour Manila.

DPR Live kicked off his set with his performance of his 2020 single "Legacy." He burst onstage wearing an orange jumpsuit with a military green harness inspired by the one he wore from the song's official music video.

DPR Live's opening number was immediately followed by his performance of the songs "Neon," "S.O.S," and "Laputa."

Midway through his performance of "Know Me," DPR Live addressed his Filipino fans and shouted, "Let's go, Manila!"

Another highlight of DPR Live's set was when he revealed that his first crush was a Filipina before performing the song "Venus."

He told the crowd, "Thank you all so, so much for coming. I'm not gonna lie, my first crush was a Filipina. With that said, I'm looking for my Venus tonight."

Around the second half of his set, DPR Live said the Philippines felt "somewhat like home" as it reminded him of his childhood years in Guam.

He said, "I've always wanted to be in the Philippines. As a lot of my fans know, I went to kindergarten, elementary, and middle school in Guam.

"And in Guam, my classmates were 50 percent Filipinos and Filipina. My best friend was always this Filipino guy. His name is Brandon Mariano.

"I don't know, for some reason, today feels somewhat like home, not gonna lie.

"The faces here, the smiles, the food really reminds me of Guam and it's very comforting so... I think this place is beautiful."

DPR Live ended his short speech by expressing his desire to come back again for another show.

He said, "We have to come back here. It's so amazing. The energy is crazy."

Other songs he performed that evening are: "Jam & Butterfly," "Kiss Me," "Text Me," "Yellow Cab," "Summer Tights," and "Martini Blue."

For his last song, he brought out DPR Cline onstage as they performed the song "Set It Off."

DPR Ian, whose real name is Christian Yu, transformed into a dark angel during his set at DPR: The Regime Tour.

For his opening number, he performed the song "MITO" followed by "So Beautiful" and "Mood."

After his third song, DPR Ian was delighted to see his fans raising and waving their hands.

"Wow, Amazing! Well, the show has just begun," DPR Ian said before continuing the show with his performance of "Dope Lovers."

The Korean-Australian performer/visual artist went on with the concert with his performances of the songs "Miss Understood," "Avalon," "Calico," and "Sometimes I'm."

At one point in the show, DPR Ian promised his Filipino fans that they will definitely return to the country.

He said, "I cannot believe that we get to perform in front of all our DREAMers here. I promise you, we're gonna be back."

DPR Ian also elicited kilig feels from fans after telling them "mahal kita" and "I love you, too" several times during his set.

His Filipino fans also got to know more about DPR Ian when he opened up about his biggest insecurities growing up.

The former K-pop idol recalled, "I grew up in Australia, one fact. And I grew up with a lot of insecurities. One of them was I hated being in the spotlight... It's weird 'cause my job is now, I'm in the spotlight.

"The reason why I hated being in the spotlight was... I thought I was brave enough. I hated people judging me. I was scared of disappointment. I was scared of a lot of things.

"But what I really loved was telling stories. Why do I love telling stories? Because by telling a story to somebody, I realized, it somehow helped them or inspire them."

DPR Ian went on and said through storytelling and music, he was able to build his confidence.

The singer, then thanked his fans for helping him overcome his insecurities and vowed to help them with theirs in return.

He said, "So I just wanna say thank you for allowing me to be comfortable in the spotlight... And I promise in return, I'll help your rise and be comfortable in your spotlight."

Other songs he performed that evening are "Scaredy Cat," "Ribbon," "Mr. Insanity," "Winterfall," "Nerves," and "Ballroom Extravaganza."

DPR Ian invited DPR Live back onstage to perform their finale song "No Blueberries."

The crowd, of course, requested an encore performance from the group and cheered "DPR, we gang, gang!"

In less than five minutes, all members of DPR including their behind-the-scenes crew went onstage as they performed the song "To Myself."

Detailing the beautiful mayhem of DPR’s Regime World Tour in Manila

To casual listeners and non-fans, DPR may exist in the K-pop and 88rising Venn diagram as one of the groups helping define what’s cool in K-hip-hop and K-R&B right now. But what DPR has achieved with their 2022 The Regime World Tour is a more elevated showcase of their discography that really lives up to the group’s vision. Lucky for us, Manila got to witness it.

DPR, which stands for Dream Perfect Regime, isn’t just a musicians’ collective. It’s a multi-genre music and video group based in Seoul whose main focus is to “engage all audiences by actualizing a distinctive audiovisual experience.”

The Regime Tour is their second world tour to date, following 2018’s Coming To You Live. Since then, the group has released several albums. DPR Live had us dancing to his daring yet fun hip-hop bops on “Is Anybody Out There?” and “Lite Cool.” DPR Ian provided an interesting contrast with his dark and theatrical R&B masterpieces “Moodswings in This Order” and its follow-up “Moodswings In To Order.” The show was bound to surpass its predecessor.

Arriving at The Filinvest Tent for The Regime Tour in Manila on Nov. 30, I was met with a young and stylish crowd lining up. I even spotted one Dreamer (the group’s fandom name) in a cool jacket with what looks like a grungy screen printed design dedicated to DPR Ian’s albums.

The neon-lit photo booths set up by GOMO

While the group doesn’t have an official lightstick like their K-pop counterparts, Karpos Multimedia offered neon glow sticks upon entry. You could even take pictures in neon-lit booths set up by GOMO at the lobby. We were ready to party—especially VIP ticket holders who were given neon pink wigs similar to the one present in the “Yellow Cab” music video.

In case you’re feeling intense FOMO, here’s a summary of their creative performances, crowd interactions, and the overall feeling of experiencing their setlist:

Blasting off with beats that go hard

dpr regime tour manila

DPR Cream opening the show with sick beats

DPR Cream, born Kim Kyung-mo, opened the show with sick beats that felt even more electric (excuse the wordplay) by a backdrop of smoke and neon lights. His set even featured instrumental versions of tracks from “The Voyager 737.” He had the crowd bouncing and set a bit of a futuristic vibe that connects it to the next set.

dpr regime tour manila

DPR Live with a giant inflatable astronaut behind him

DPR Live, born Hong Da-bin, then makes an explosive entrance in a techwear costume with “Legacy.” And almost like magic, a giant inflatable astronaut appears and hovers behind him during “S.O.S” and “Neon.”

dpr regime tour manila

DPR Live with a handful of roses

Chasing after the life of the party and under the spell of a fallen angel

DPR Live cooled us down with “To Whoever” to get us ready for the slower tempos of chill and sultry tracks like “Thirst,” “Know Me,” “Cheese & Wine,” and “Laputa.” For “Venus,” he made us swoon as he threw roses at the crowd. He then chatted with the crowd and told us that his first crush while growing up in Guam was a Filipina. Having spent a lot of time with a lot of Filipino classmates, he said that performing here felt comforting. NGL, that made “Kiss Me,” “Jasmine,” and “Jam & Butterfly” sound even sweeter.

dpr regime tour manila

DPR Live and DPR Cline “Set It Off.”

Then we entered party mode as fans waved their pink wigs in the air during “Yellow Cab.” The hype continued with “Summer Tights,” “Text Me,” when he started throwing ring pool floats during “Hula Hoops,” “Martini Blue,” and as DPR Cline joined him for “Set It Off.”

dpr regime tour manila

DPR Ian reborn as Mito

The tone takes a 180 when DPR Ian, born Christian Yu, entered in a glittery black sleeveless top and jacket with a headpiece. His giant feathered wings unfurled as “Mito” played while the stage was lit softly from the back. He truly looked like a fallen angel and we were under his spell as he started singing “So Beautiful,” “Mood,” “Dope Lovers,” “Miss Understood,” and “Avalon.” It was exhilarating to watch him transform into his onstage persona, to watch him twirl and wear an occasionally eerie expression.

dpr regime tour manila

DPR Ian performing “Calico.”

The crowd went even more wild when he danced with his cowboy hat and whipped out his bass for  “Calico.” It’s just the kick that we needed as DPR Ian took off his jacket to free his tattooed arms for “Sometimes I’m.” The stage turned into an inferno on “1 Shot.”

dpr regime tour manila

DPR Ian dancing during “Ribbon.”

Getting vulnerable and going wild

DPR Ian talked to the crowd for a bit about experiencing artist’s block and being caught up in his perfectionism. He added that he’s learned to depend on his fans when he’s feeling a bit scared before bringing us to “Scaredy Cat” where pairs of hands floated behind him. He put his mic down for his magnetic dance number for “Ribbon” that ended with a giant inflatable hand emerging and pulling him behind stage curtains.

dpr regime tour manila

DPR Ian facing a giant mirror.

“Mr. Insanity” came back onstage in a big faux fur coat and had us chanting “insane.” Fake snowflakes blew around him on “Winterfall” as he took his jacket off. Now shirtless, DPR Ian briefly recalled the time he didn’t want to see his reflection. After he sang “Nerves,” the stage curtains opened to reveal a big mirror at the back that he dramatically approached. And yes, I felt choked up by the time we got to “Ballroom Extravaganza.”

DPR Live joined him onstage for “No Blueberries” and the pair thanked the crowd for the night. Of course, the night wasn’t really over. The crowd chanted “DPR we gang gang” for the encore. The DPR crew launched themselves onto the stage with “To Myself” and the show went to a close as confetti streamers fell.

Get to know DPR even more

Known for its multi-genre music, DPR (Dream Perfect Regime) is a Seoul-based music and video group that engages fans with a distinct audiovisual experience.

Composed of DPR IAN, DPR LIVE, and DPR CREAM, this group surely will give you a variety of songs that you will surely love jamming to it:

This first track “BALLROOM EXTRAVAGANZA” from DPR IAN is one of the tracks that keeps playing on the loop by the time I heard this. The music video has Stranger Things vibes to it which adds more feeling to the song.

The second track “Jasmine” is from DPR LIVE from 5 years ago where the music video shows a visual story of someone begging for someone to love him. It’s also a chill song to listen to when on the road or just chilling outside.

Lastly, is the track from DPR CREAM called “Color Drive” which takes you to another world or galaxy as he shows his love for space. The fun vibe of the track and his soulful voice matches well which makes me vibe all throughout the song.

Get to hear more of their performances and stay tuned on HallyuLife as well as on Karpos Multimedia for show updates and possible coverage! #DPRMANILA   -HallyuLife.com

Get to know the DPR gang before their Regime Tour in Manila on November 30

ohsayhello

When it comes to Korean hip-hop and R&B, the Korean collective known as DPR often comes to mind. Fans of DPR are in a for a treat as the DPR Live, DPR Ian, and DPR Cream are finally coming to Manila! The hiphop collective is bringing their Regime World Tour 2022 to the Philippines this coming November 30.

Karpos Multimedia, the event organizers behind the well-loved Wanderland Music Festival, is bringing the DPR Collective to Manila and holding the concert at The Filinvest Tent in Alabang, Muntinlupa City.

Before the big day on November 30, here are some fun facts about DPR why their Regime show is a must-watch:

1. Group of Friends with a DREAM

dpr regime tour manila

Have you ever imagined working at a company where you have control over the creative process, the final output, and you're working with some of your closest friends? Sounds like a dream right? DPR started almost the same way too. The Dream Perfect Regime, also known as DPR is a "fully independent multi-genre music and video group" based in Seoul, South Korea. The collective is composed of artists from different backgrounds and influences that come together to write, shoot, direct, and produce music and audio-visual outputs.

It all started when DPR Live (Hong Da Bin) and DPR Ian (Christian Yu) found their common passion through dance and music. Together with DPR Cream (Kim Kyung Mo) and DPR Rem (Scott Kim), they formed the Dream Perfect Regime collective and have started to add DPR into their stage names. After building the indie label from the ground-up, DPR has grown to nine creative artists coming together to create groundbreaking music and visual art.

As DPR Live once described during an interview, “ We’re perfecting our dreams, it’s a regime; we’re coming up to take over”. In 2015, the dream took shape as the crew formed DPR, and has become the independent music collective label that they are known today.

2. Changing the Korean Music Scene

dpr regime tour manila

With their unique take in music, visual arts, and production, DPR has produced some of the most catchy and unique tracks in the Korean music scene. Known for their hiphop and R&B beats, DPR's releases such as its debut Eung Freestyle, DPR Live's Jasmine, DPR Ian's Nerves, and DPR Cream's  Color Dive  are just some of their most popular tracks with fresh hiphop beats and catchy verses.

What started as a group of friends making underground indie music to express their passion, DPR has grown into a well-known independent music group with millions of fans all over the world. Add to that, their creative and out-of-this world visuals expressed through music videos, posters and social media posts has helped in building the popularity of the group.

3. Meaningful collabs with other K-artists

dpr regime tour manila

Some new fans of DPR might recognize DPR Ian in CL's music video for 5 star. DPR Ian played the role of CL's handsome love interest, and both old and new fans were smitten by their chemistry. Aside from the MV, DPR Ian also collaborated with CL for her song No Blueberries.

Fans of the K-pop girl group Mamamoo were also ecstatic when Hwasa and DPR Live announced their second collaboration last 2021 for Live's song Hula Hoops. Prior to this, Hwasa and DPR Live also collaborated for a single during Hwasa's album launch, titled I'm Bad Too.

Other artists that the DPR team has collaborated with were Loco, Jay Park and Dean.

Why should you watch DPR perform this November 30 and what should you watch out for? Aside from their unique and catchy music, DPR expresses their love for their craft through their performances and interactions with their fans. It's no wonder that despite coming from the underground hiphop scene, the crew easily made its way to the hearts of music fans, not just in Korea but all over the world.

Catch the DPR crew this November 30 for their Manila Debut! Tickets are still available at www.regimetour.com and Tickelo website . Don't miss this opportunity to see the groundbreaking performances of the DPR gang!
