Disney’s key selling point is the all-inclusive nature of its cruises, with most dining options, activities, entertainment, and services included in the price of a Disney cruise . This extends to meet-and-greets with Disney characters, Broadway-style shows, movie screenings, water activities, and the fitness center. Additionally, several kids’ clubs offer complimentary activities for children and teens.

The all-inclusive price also covers port expenses, taxes, and fees, making it an excellent value for families. However, it’s worth noting that airfare, gratuities , specialty restaurants, spas, excursions (known as Port Adventures), bottled beverages, and alcohol are not included in the package.

Where does Disney sail?

Disney's fleet of cruise ships, disney cruise costs, how to save money on a disney cruise, disney cruise costs, recapped.

If you’ve caught yourself researching Disney cruises lately, we don’t blame you — with waterslides galore and a reputation for luxury, Disney cruises can be a lot of fun. But they can also be pricey, and those costs can add up if you’re sailing with multiple people.

If you’ve been asking, “How much is a Disney cruise?,” we have the answer for you. Let’s look at the options for cruises, how much they cost and ways you can make them more affordable.

No matter where you’re looking to go, Disney likely has a cruise for you. Sure, you won’t find ships heading to Antarctica, but there are still plenty of destinations from which to choose, including:

New Zealand.

Pacific Coast.

Panama Canal.

South Pacific.

Trans-Atlantic.

Many of these destinations are oriented toward North American travelers, but you’ll find options scattered all over the world.

» Learn more: Is cruise travel insurance worth the cost?

Despite its wide variety of destinations, Disney operates only six ships. Its newest ship, the Disney Treasure, is set to launch in December 2024.

Along with the Disney Treasure, you can opt to sail with:

Disney Dream.

Disney Fantasy.

Disney Magic.

Disney Wonder.

Disney Wish.

So, how much should you save to cover Disney cruise costs? The short answer: It depends.

No, that’s probably not what you want to hear, but it’s the truth. The price of a Disney cruise is going to be influenced by a variety of factors, including:

Where you’re going.

The trip’s duration.

Which Disney ship you’re on.

How many people you’re traveling with.

The type of stateroom you book.

Any add-ons or specialty bookings you choose.

If you’re looking for an all-out experience, it’s pretty easy to rack up a big bill. Disney cruises are well known as an expensive option, but tacking on high-end touches such as a concierge room and spa visits will really drive up the price.

disney european cruise cost

The cheapest cruises you’ll find tend to sail from San Diego, and they’re the shortest trips as well. We searched for sailings across the calendar and found the cheapest rates rang in at $1,326 for two guests in an inside room on a three-night trip from San Diego.

disney european cruise cost

In contrast, the most expensive cruise we found was a 10-night option that travels through Iceland, Norway, France and Denmark. The price tag came in at $6,489 for two guests in an inside cabin and rose to $28,089 for a concierge-level room.

There’s no denying that Disney cruises can be expensive. However, there are ways you can save money on your booking.

Find discounted sailings

disney european cruise cost

This first option seems obvious, but you’ll want to specifically search for discounted sailings. Although Disney doesn’t always offer sales, if they are available, you'll find them on the Disney cruise line page — just click “Show special offer filters” when searching.

disney european cruise cost

The special offers filter will let you know what types of discounts are available, like the example above promoting up to 35% off on select sailings.

Skip the add-ons

The base fare for these trips includes almost everything, so if you’re looking to drop the cost of a Disney cruise, consider avoiding add-ons. This means skipping out on things like wine tastings and specialty drinks as well as forgoing dinner at Palo, the adults-only Italian restaurant that comes with additional costs.

Instead, enjoy the plethora of complimentary activities, such as pools, movies, shows, karaoke, dancing and more. And when it comes to food and beverage, simply sip the included soda and coffee, eat the (already amazing) free food and don’t forget to order a Mickey ice cream bar with your complimentary room service.

Disney is notable in that it also allows you to bring your own alcohol on board. Each guest older than 21 can bring up to two bottles of wine or six cans of beer when they first board and at every port of call. Considering that alcohol on the ship can be pretty expensive, this is a good way to save money.

Use a promotion

disney european cruise cost

Do you live in Florida or Southern California? Or perhaps you’re a member of the U.S. military ? If any of these apply to you, you may have special access to discounted Disney cruise prices.

disney european cruise cost

You’ll be able to find these deals via that special offers filter shown above. For example, that three-night San Diego sailing mentioned above dropped from $1,326 to $1,164 once we selected the U.S. military filter.

Redeem points

Last, but certainly not least, is the option to redeem your points for a Disney cruise. While there’s no good way to transfer points directly, there are still ways you can use points toward your booking.

The most convenient way is by using a credit card that’ll wipe away your travel costs. Plenty of cards have this feature, but two fairly decent ones are the Bank of America® Premium Rewards® credit card and the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card . Both cards will allow you to redeem your points toward purchases at a rate of 1 cent per point.

Even better, these redemptions can be stacked with other discounts, allowing you to drop your costs even more. For example, a member of the U.S. military can redeem 116,400 Capital One Miles to pay for their entire cruise, an excellent double dip that saves money and miles.

» Learn more: 7 tips for getting the best deal on your next cruise

The cost of a Disney cruise can vary dramatically based on your needs and sailing preferences. However, you should expect to spend at least $1,000 on a cruise for two passengers. The price goes up from there depending on your cabin selection, trip duration and destination choices, among other options.

If you’re looking to save money on a Disney cruise, consider waiting for a sale, checking relevant discounts or redeeming points to help keep your out-of-pocket costs low. And if you like to enjoy an alcoholic beverage every once in a while, we recommend bringing your preferred drink with you on board.

Disney Cruise Europe 2023 Opening Day Prices and How They Have Changed

Sharing is caring!

The Disney Dream is sailing from Europe for the first time in Summer 2023.

In previous years this has always been the Disney Magic, but the larger Disney Dream will be sailing on a number of different itineraries from May to September 2023.

Here we look at the different sailings and give details of all the opening day prices for the Disney Europe 2023 Summer sailings.

We also compare how they have changed from opening day to May 11, 2023. These Disney cruises have now been available for anyone to book, not just Castaway Club members who have all sailed previously with Disney.

disney cruise surope 2023

As we have seen from previous years it is highly likely that these prices will go up from the opening day.

If you want to book a Disney Cruise to Europe the general advice is to book as soon as you can to opening day.

However, we have followed the Disney cruise prices for many years now. The pattern does seem to be changing and perhaps it is not quite so crucial to book early as it used to be.

The exception to this seems to be if you want to book a Concierge stateroom on a Disney Cruise. Here, prices are likely to increase quickly and fo certain itineraries do sell out.

Disney Cruise Summer 2023 How To Book

Here is the schedule for when the booking dates were released:

  • Monday, May 2nd – Platinum Members, Golden Oak Club Members, and Club 33 Members
  • Tuesday, May 3rd – Gold Castaway Club members
  • Thursday, May 5th – Silver Members, Disney Vacation Club Members, and Adventures by Disney Insiders
  • Monday, May 9th, first-time cruisers will be able to book.

If you are a  Castaway Club Member  always log into your account prior to booking so that you can verify your Castaway Club status. You will then be able to book as soon as your priority date arrives.

Or you can call (800) 388-4513 starting at 8:00 AM Eastern Time on your designated date or contact your travel agent.

As you can see, those who have not cruised with Disney before had to wait until May 9th for booking to open to them.

It is interesting to compare the prices on opening day with how they were on May 11, 2022.

When you are looking at these prices always remember that this is the lowest rate you can find for that category.

There is a lot of variation within those categories. It can vary up to thousands of dollars within each category. You are seeing the lowest price for that category on the day stated for 2 guests.

Also what you will most definitely have an advantage if you book early is that you have more of a choice of staterooms. If you want to have your first choice and in particular get one of these Disney Dream Secret Staterooms the earlier you book the better.

All prices include taxes and port fees.

13-Night Eastbound Transatlantic Cruise from Miami ending in Barcelona

  • Miami, Florida
  • Ponta Delgada (Azores)
  • Lisbon, Portugal
  • Cadiz, Spain
  • Malaga, Spain
  • Cartegena, Spain
  • Barcelona, Spain

This is sailing on May 7 2023 for the Dream to reposition to Barcelona from Miami.

Screen Shot 2022-04-27 at 9.39.22 am

Here is the pricing which was available on May 11, 2022. There isn’t much change in the Oceanview or Verandah, but a slight increase for an Inside stateroom.

Concierge staterooms for this sailing have already sold out.

Disney Dream 9 Night Mediterranean with Greek Isles from Barcelona to Civitavecchia

This is likely to be one of the most popular cruises – if you want to book this one previous patterns have shown that the price is likely to rise quite a bit from opening day.

  • Barcelona Spain
  • Marseilles France
  • Livorno Italy
  • Kefalonia Greece
  • Piraeus (Athens) Greece
  • Santorini Greece
  • Naples Italy

This sailing is on 6/3/23

disney european cruise cost

I left in my prediction from before that prices would rise from opening day. And I have to admit that I was wrong. Prices are still around the same as they were on opening day, with the glaring exception of Concierge Staterooms.

There is even a Guaranteed Inside Stateroom rate being offered which is unusual given how long it is until the sailing date.

Usually, we don’t see those until closer to the sailing date. That is the starting $7,652 rate which is for a Standard Inside Stateroom Guarantee.

8-Night Mediterranean with Greek Isles Cruise from Civitavecchia (Rome)

  • Mykonos, Greece
  • Chania, Greece

Again, we can see here that the only real change is for the Concierge Staterooms. Guarantee Inside Staterooms are also been offered for this sailing.

The only Category of Concierge Stateroom currently available is the One Bedroom.

7-Night Mediterranean with Greek Isles Cruise from Civitavecchia (Rome)

5 ways Disney makes cruising Europe easy for families

Megan duBois

Many people know Disney Cruise Line for its family-friendly cruises from North American home ports to the Caribbean, Bahamas, Mexico and Alaska. But did you know that every summer, one Disney cruise ship makes its way across the Atlantic Ocean for a season in the Mediterranean?

Previously, Disney Magic was the lucky ship to cruise among the charming European ports, but in 2023, Disney Dream sailed to the Mediterranean for the first time. The ship will continue to take families to bucket-list-worthy destinations around Europe, including Italy, France, Greece and Norway, next summer, too.

If you're thinking about taking a European cruise and wondering how to balance traveling with kids and venturing into historic cities, don't panic. Here are five ways Disney is making the Europe cruise experience as simple and smooth as possible for families of all types.

Children can stay in the kids clubs while parents explore the ports

disney european cruise cost

Long port days can be hard for parents who want to see the historic sites in Rome, visit wineries in Tuscany or enjoy a guided hike in Norway but fear their kids will get bored quickly or are too young to participate in some activities.

One of the biggest perks for families cruising with Disney Cruise Line is that kids can stay in the dedicated kids clubs on board the cruise ship while parents explore the various ports of call on their own. Parents can drop junior cruisers off at the clubs before getting off the ship and know that their children are being cared for by the counselors their kids have already met.

Even better, playtime in Disney Dream's four youth activity spaces is included in the overall cost of the sailing. Disney's Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Lab are dedicated spaces for kids ages 3 to 12, where they can play games, do crafts or hang out with a good book while under the supervision of the counselors.

Related: Best cruise lines for families

While you're out enjoying the port, you can also be assured that Disney is taking care of your children's rumbling tummies because the kids clubs provide meals inside the club during the day.

Older kids have their own shipboard spaces. Edge is Disney's tween club for those ages 11 to 14, where guided activities, like video game competitions and dance parties, take place daily. Edge is located inside the faux forward funnel on Disney Dream, so it feels exclusive.

Teens ages 14 to 17 can enjoy Vibe, where they'll learn how to make movies or watch them on the 103-inch TV. Disney Dream also has a private sundeck for teens, which is only accessible with a Vibe-coded room keycard. (Be sure to check in at Vibe on embarkation day to ensure your teen's room key will allow them into the deck area.) Both Edge and Vibe have a free come-and-go policy, so kids can enjoy the spaces as they want without parents having to check them in or out.

No matter which club your kids hang out in, they will have plenty of fun, and parents can rest assured that if anything happens, the counselors know what to do. They have access to every phone number for Disney-led port excursions, so if your child has an emergency and the ship can't reach you directly, Disney can call the tour operator.

If you are touring ports on your own, inform the counselors of your plans and give them your best contact information on embarkation day.

Disney Cruise Line offers both family-friendly and adults-only shore excursions

disney european cruise cost

Disney's shore excursions in Europe cater to all types of travelers and desired experiences with family-friendly and adults-only options.

Grown-ups who may be traveling without kids or have dropped their children off at the kids clubs can enjoy tours designated for cruisers ages 18 and older. The adults-only tours often move at a faster pace, so pack your walking shoes if you plan to do a heavy day of sightseeing, especially in cities like Rome or Athens.

Adults will find that excursions through Disney Cruise Line encompass a wide range of interests, from wine tastings and local food tours to venturing into historical sites. There are even some adventure sports like riding ATVs.

If traveling with young kids, book the tours labeled "for families" or "featuring exclusive youth activity" early since they fill up quickly.

Family tours are often less strenuous than the traditional or adults-only departures, allowing for little legs to keep up with the group. They feature longer breaks or time on your own, so kids can get a rest and perk up with a sweet treat, like gelato in Italy.

Tours labeled with the phrase " featuring exclusive youth activity " will include time for adults and kids to have separate activities. One of the options with this label is a tour of Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast, where kids learn how to make pizza at a local restaurant with the help of the Disney Cruise Line youth counselors while parents enjoy time on their own or on a guided tour. Everyone comes back together for lunch.

Booking shore excursions through Disney Cruise Line also guarantees that you won't be left behind in a foreign city if your tour runs late getting back to the ship.

Casual dining options are plentiful after long days of sightseeing

disney european cruise cost

After a long day sightseeing in port, the last thing your kids want to do is sit through a long dinner in one of Disney's three main dining rooms. This means finding dinner elsewhere on the ship, which is easy thanks to Disney's quick-service options on the pool decks.

Families can grab a quick bite from three "Cars"-themed service windows at Flo's Cafe every evening. The menus here are packed with kid-friendly favorites, such as chicken tenders, burgers, salads, wraps, pizza and more. Flo's also has sandwich specials that change daily, including tasty options like spicy fried chicken and pulled pork.

You can be in and out in 15 to 20 minutes and then have time to see the nighttime shows or get to bed early before another day of exploration in a new port.

Alternatively, families can order room service , which is included in the cost of your Disney Dream cruise. Room service can take a while to arrive if you, like hundreds of your shipmates, are ordering during peak dinner hours. However, the joy of eating dinner in your pajamas in a space where kids can squirm freely may be just what your family needs after a long day off the ship.

Related: 12 dining mistakes you must fix on your next cruise

Pro-tip: If you're a chicken wing connoisseur, Disney Cruise Line has some of the best wings at sea on its room service menu. They are crispy and juicy, served piping hot, and the buffalo sauce is spicy.

If your family wants to eat in the main dining room, and you're on the early seating rotation, Disney offers some leniency on longer port days when tours tend to return to the ship late. A ship officer or dining team member will often be out on the pier announcing that the main dining rooms are still seating guests until a certain cut-off time. If your family can make it to your assigned dining room in time, you can enjoy a meal there.

Just know that if you miss a dinner show one night, there's no second opportunity to see it again, even on longer sailings. So, if your family is set on seeing or participating in a certain dinner show, like "Animation Magic" – where you draw a figure on a special sheet of paper and it comes to life on screens around Animator's Palate – you will want to ask your dining team which night that show is being performed.

The cruise ship is a familiar home base with plenty of Disney charm

Visiting new cities and towns can be as draining as it is exciting. Riding for hours in a bus and walking around all day in the warm European sun can wear out both adults and kids. Also, the stress of navigating different languages and unfamiliar cities can be unsettling if you're not used to it. That's why it's nice to have a friendly home base for your travels on a Disney cruise ship.

One of the biggest perks to cruising, in general, is that you unpack once. You don't need to deal with the hassle of packing up and swapping hotels mid-trip.

Upon returning to the ship each day, children can enter a familiar world where they have their stuff set up how they like in their cabin, they can interact with their favorite Disney characters, and they can join friends in the kids clubs to play games and swap stories about the day's adventures. Parents can relax and not worry about where to eat dinner in a strange city.

Around the ship, families will find plenty of familiar Disney fun, so evenings are easy and carefree. Most nights, families can watch a live performance in the main Walt Disney Theater or catch a movie in the Buena Vista Theater, including newly released movies currently playing in theaters at home.

If your kids are into meeting characters, they are in for a treat. Mickey Mouse and all his pals will dress up in themed outfits for the various European ports of call and come to the ship's public spaces for meet-and-greets.

The Disney princesses are also onboard to greet everyone and pose for photos. They also host tea parties, but parents be warned, the tea party is an added cost, and reservations fill up quickly.

Of course, no Disney cruise is complete without a deck party or two. On select Mediterranean sailings, fireworks will light up the sky over the Mediterranean Sea with Disney's iconic Pirate Night deck party.

Travelers can bookend cruises with Adventures by Disney short escapes

disney european cruise cost

Extending your stay in Europe is a great way to take advantage of flying halfway around the world to get on a Disney cruise. Take the hassle out of planning what to do before or after your cruise by booking an Adventures by Disney guided tour.

Families with kids ages 5 and older are allowed to book, though Adventures by Disney does suggest that kids are at least 6 years old. Children under 5 are not permitted on these tours.

The tours take place in Barcelona, London and Rome, all of which have associated ports that Disney Cruise Line sails from throughout its European season. The guided tours include meals, hotel accommodations, transportation to and from the ship and tours of the major sites in each city.

Escapes in Barcelona are four days long. Families can enjoy a privately guided tour of La Sagrada Família cathedral and Parque Güell, plus time at the Gothic Quarter of Barcelona and the medieval abbey, Santa Maria de Montserrat.

If your cruise departs from Civitavecchia, Italy, the Rome escape may be a fun add-on to your trip. The four-day tour includes a VIP Colosseum tour, a tour of St. Peter's Basilica and the Vatican Museums, and plenty of time to explore the city on your own.

Families departing on Disney Cruise Line from Southampton, England, can book the London escape , which is only three days. The trip starts with a high-speed boat ride on the River Thames and dinner at a local pub. Other activities on the tour include a private viewing of the Crown Jewels, afternoon tea and a private tour of St. Paul's Cathedral.

Bottom line

Whether you're a cruise pro or sailing around Europe for the first time, Disney Cruise Line makes sailing the historic coastlines of Europe easy and fun for families.

The ship makes for a familiar home base, with plenty of activities for kids and adults. The cruise line's shore excursions satisfy the interests of families exploring together while providing options for adults who need a more grownup experience in port. Just be sure to pack your walking shoes and a positive attitude!

Everything You Need to Know About European Cruises With Disney

by Melissa Roden · February 20, 2019

Adventures by Disney

Whether you have visions of sunning yourself in the Mediterranean or exploring some of Europes most majestic capital cities, Disney has the perfect sailing for you! Guests love charting a course for an overseas adventure with Disney as it’s a familiar brand you know and love with impeccable customer service.  However, unlike more familiar sailings to the Bahamas or the Caribbean, finding a European option that suits your needs can be a bit daunting! That’s where we come in. To help you with your vacation abroad, here’s everything you need to know about European sailings with Walt Disney World.

European Disney Cruise

Disney Cruise Line Versus Adventures by Disney

There are two ways that you can take to the waterways on a European Adventure with Disney.  The first is by booking a Mediterranean, Norwegian, British Isles or Northern European sailing directly with Disney Cruise Line.  Currently, on offer are a range of sailings ranging from a 5-night Mediterranean sailing out of Barcelona to a majestic 11-nights exploring the Norwegian Fjords.

Adventures by Disney takes to Europes smaller waterways with sailings along some of the continent’s most picturesque waterways.  Disney’s touring company offers a series of 8-day River Cruises that take you along the Rhine, Rhone, Seine or Danube Rivers!  It is also possible to book Mediterranean sailings offered via Disney Cruise Line as a “touring package” with lots of extras thrown in if booked via Adventures By Disney (but we’ll talk more about that later.)

Now let’s take a look at current European sailings on offer with both Disney Cruise Line and Adventures by Disney:

Does Disney Offer Cruising Discounts?

Disney Cruise Line and Adventures by Disney vary from other cruise lines in that they rarely offer last-minute or seasonal discounts. Rather they operate under an early booking model.  This means that the further out you book the more affordable the rates.  As the sailings start to fill up, you will notice an increase in rates.  Unlike a trip to Walt Disney World where discounts can be applied to your package after you’ve booked, the rates you lock in with your cruise will stay at that rate.

Disney Cruise Cost Pricing Explained

Disney Cruise Cost

Let's start by covering the details of how Disney Cruise costs are calculated between room pricing and cost per person.

Disney Cruise Room Pricing

All Disney Cruise costs are priced based on two adults in the stateroom (room on the ship). This means that one adult traveling with a child (ages 3-12) is the same price as two adults (13 and up) in the room. Children ages 0-2 pay 50% of the child rate.

After the two adult prices, the third and fourth passengers in the stateroom are charged a lower rate. If you are traveling alone, Disney Cruise Line will charge you 100% of the second adult’s cruise fare (not including port fees and taxes) in addition to the full fare for the first adult.

Pricing Per Adult

It is simply impossible to determine exactly how much a person will pay without looking at several different factors. We are going to break these factors on Disney Cruise cost down for you.

Then, we will help you gauge pricing on a budget to pricing with no limits, and everything in between, so that you have an accurate idea of what you can expect to pay for your Disney Cruise itself. We will also show you a full Disney Cruise Scenario with estimates on what you may need to include for a Disney Cruise. Finally, we detail some ways to save money if you are interested in sailing on a Disney Cruise.

Which Disney Cruise Should I Do?

The first couple of factors to consider when deciding to book a Disney Cruise and cost are where you want to go and what ship you want to sail on.

disney european cruise cost

Disney Cruise Ships

Disney currently has 6 signature cruise ships with more on the way.

The newest cruise ship available right now is the Disney Wish, but the Disney Treasure begins sailing in December of 2024, and it is almost time to start booking!

Each Disney ship is decked out from bow to stern in immersive Disney experiences. The experiences are going to differ depending on the ship, where it is sailing to, and if it is a themed expedition or not.

Ships Sailings

  • Disney Magic : Bahamas, Caribbean, Mexico, Panama Canal
  • Disney Wonder : Alaska, Mexico, Caribbean, South Pacific, New Zealand & Australia
  • Disney Dream : Caribbean, Bahamas, Europe, Bermuda, Transatlantic Cruises
  • Disney Fantasy : Caribbean and Bahamas
  • Disney Wish : Bahamas
  • Disney Treasure : Caribbean

Disney Cruise Cost Factors

There are a few factors that will impact the cost of a Disney Cruise like time of year, location of the cruise, plus the Disney Cruise ship chosen.

Time of the year

Disney prices their cruises based on peak seasons. The more in-demand the cruise sailings are, the higher the pricing.

The first peak season is the most expensive. Think about when children are out of school, June – August. There is an increase in demand for ships and sailings, so the pricing also goes up. Alaska, and the Caribbean, are usually priced high during this time. Europe and the Panama Canal are usually only offered during these peak seasons.

Holidays are another popular peak season. The Bahamas and the Caribbean are going to be more expensive during these times because families will want shorter cruises, which are offered to these two locations.

Off-season bookings will be cheaper, but keep in mind, that the weather may not be as cooperative depending upon the location you are sailing to.

When choosing locations for your cruise, a cruise to the more remote destination Alaska is going to cost more than sailing to the Bahamas from Florida.

Europe and the Panama Canal are usually only offered in the summer, which can drive up the price of the cruise.

When deciding on what you want out of your cruise, guests can choose from different night lengths.

Disney currently offers cruises in 1-3, 4, 5-6, 7 8-13, or 14+ lengths. The longer you cruise, the more expensive the cruise is going to be because more amenities are included and paid for in the cruise cost.

Specialty Cruises

Disney offers specialty cruises throughout the year. Each of these specialty cruises is going to include extra events, entertainment, dining specialties, and more that are factored into the higher costs.

Guests can book a Pixar Day at Sea, Marvel Day at Sea, Halloween High Seas, and Holiday-themed cruises.

Disney Cruise cost entertainment

Stateroom type

There are four different types of staterooms guests can book on the cruise ships. A stateroom is the cruise equivalent of your hotel room.

The most luxurious accommodations on the cruise and the most expensive. Each room has a large private verandah (balcony) and premium amenities and services included. Prices for this type of hotel room will be the most expensive out of all rooms on the ship costing upwards of $6,000 for a trip.

The most spacious non-concierge staterooms are in the Verandah category. Each room comes equipped with a private verandah (balcony), some with partial views of the ship and ocean. The space and balcony are worth the price increase if you are sailing on a longer cruise. This category is the second most expensive type of room to choose from and also tends to sell out the quickest. Pricing tends to start around the $3500 total mark for most cruise lengths and destinations.

The oceanview room has more space than an inside room and also includes a porthole or two to be able to see the ocean. This is a great middle price on the cruise where you can still see the ocean passing by, but you don’t have the balcony to walk out on. This type of room falls in the middle pricing category. The cheapest cruises will come in around $2800 total but can go much higher depending on the length and destination.

Disney Cruise inside rooms

The base accommodations feature no outside viewing as the rooms are on the inside of the ship. However, Disney provides a scenic porthole display of different images to make it not feel as claustrophobic. These will be the absolute cheapest rooms due to not having an actual window or balcony. If you want to go on a Disney cruise, but your family is on a strict budget, these rooms will be the cheapest, averaging around the $2,000 – $4,000 range.

Transportation To Port

By far the biggest factor that will vary for each family going on a Disney cruise is the transportation to the Departing Port.

You will need to provide your own flight, take a train, or drive to the port that you are leaving from. This cost is going to vary widely depending on where you live versus where you need to leave from.

We also recommend arriving the day before the cruise is set to depart so there are no delays in boarding the ship at your arrival time. This is going to cost a night at a nearby hotel, which adds to the overall budget for your cruise.

Disney has ports in the following locations:

  • Fort Lauderdale, Florida
  • Port Canaveral, Florida
  • Vancouver, Canada
  • Auckland, New Zealand
  • Barcelona, Spain
  • Honolulu, Hawai’i
  • San Juan, Puerto Rico
  • Melbourne Australia
  • Southampton, England
  • Brisbane, Australia
  • New Orleans, Louisiana
  • Sydney, Australia
  • Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy
  • New York, New York
  • San Diego, California
  • Galveston, Texas

Certain cruises only depart from specific locations. You can filter this when you are searching to book your cruise.

When planning your destinations for your cruise, it is helpful to know where you are going to sail from. The majority of the Bahamas and Caribbean cruises are going to leave from the two ports in Florida, but they also depart from Texas. The Alaskan cruises sail from Vancouver, Canada.

The cheapest way to book transportation is to filter the cruises by which port is closest to you and see which destinations are available. Or, you can filter by destination and then see which ports are the closest to you to help keep costs down.

Keep in mind that if you drive to the port, this will be an additional cost to park your car at the port as well. The fee will be nightly similar to an airport.

What is Included in the Disney Cruise Cost Base Price?

A big question is what do I get for the price tag I see on the Disney Cruise Line website?

When booking your Disney Cruise, you are not just paying for a hotel room like many other vacations. You are paying for an all-inclusive Disney Experience . For every Disney Cruise booked, you can expect the following accommodations, activities, and amenities.

Room type chosen

Guests can choose from 4 different stateroom types:

  • Concierge – Most expensive and most luxurious
  • Verandah – Popular and mid-level pricing
  • Ocean View – Mid-level pricing

What is Not Included in a Disney Cruise?

While Disney Cruises is great at including a lot of amenities in the total trip cost, there are a few extras that you may want while sailing on your ship.

  • Port Excursions
  • Premium desserts
  • Premium coffee (at the Cove cafe)
  • Meals at the adult-only Palo and Remy
  • Gratuities – can be prepaid
  • Wireless Internet Access
  • Baby Nursery (6 months -3 years)

All of these items should be considered when pricing out your Disney Cruise so that you do not have any unexpected costs.

disney european cruise cost

Menus for restaurants are available on the Disney Cruise Line Website, so you can see if you want to eat somewhere not included in the base price.

Port Excursions are also booked ahead of time, so you can prepay these items and include them in the final cost of your cruise.

Gratuities Explained

On a cruise ship, it is customary to give gratuities in recognition of exceptional service. Disney recommends a gratuity amount of $14.50 USD per night, per stateroom Guest, including infants and children or $15.50 USD per night, per stateroom Guest for concierge and suites.

Pre-Paid Gratuities are distributed to the Crew Members who take care of you in the following roles:

  • Dining room server
  • Dining room assistant server
  • Dining room head server
  • Stateroom host

Easily pre-pay gratuities online to create a carefree, all-inclusive experience by visiting My Reservations in your Disney account and following the prompts for Pre-Paid Gratuities. If you do not pre-pay before boarding the ship, Disney automatically charges your onboard account the suggested gratuity amount. Once on the ship, you can adjust the amount of your Pre-Paid Gratuities by visiting Guest Services prior to the end of your cruise.

Pre-Paid Gratuities do not include the following gratuities, which are either included in the charge or based on your discretion:

  • Extras added to rotational dining meals such as alcoholic beverages
  • Adult dining locations such as Remy, Palo, Palo Steakhouse and Enchanté by Chef Arnaud Lallement, which are not part of rotational dining
  • Food or drink in shops and outdoor or poolside eateries
  • Room service
  • Port Adventures
  • Senses Spa & Salon
  • Concierge Lounge Team—Guests staying in Concierge accommodations are recommended a gratuity amount of $8.00 per night, per stateroom Guest
  • Any other additional services
  • An 18% gratuity is automatically added to bar, beverage, wine, deck service tabs and spa services. All gratuities can be charged to your onboard account.

  • A family beach
  • Serenity Bay (18+ beach)

Disney’s new island, Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point will have similar amenities to Castaway Cay! We can’t wait to see what the island holds.

Breakdown of Pricing

This section of our article is going to take a look at the specific pricing of specific cruises to help estimate Disney Cruise cost. The three most popular Disney Destinations are the Bahamas, the Caribbean, and Alaska, so that is what pricing we are going to focus on.

Disney Cruise On a Budget

If you really want to go on a Disney Cruise and stick to a budget, the 3-night and 4-night cruises are going to be the best option. Depending on how far from your destination you are traveling, the amount of time on the ship versus in a port will vary. The Bahamas destinations are going to offer more time in ports where Caribbean cruises will be more time on the boat.

The cheapest room option on a cruise is always the interior room. However, these rooms don’t have actual windows and can make a very tight space for a family of four, which we are basing all of our pricing on. If possible, spring for at least an Oceanview room where you are guaranteed at least one actual window.

Another way to stay on budget is to adjust the dates. In the tables below, you will see different dates and different ships will provide cheaper options. Cruises during February, August, and September tend to be cheaper, similarly to a Walt Disney World Vacation, whereas cruises during holiday seasons (Spring Break, Christmas, New Years, Halloween, etc.) are going to be more expensive.

3- Night Bahamian Cruise from Fort Lauderdale

  • 4 Guests – 2 adults, 2 children
  • Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point & Nassau, Bahamas

4 – Night Bahamian Cruise from Fort Lauderdale

4-Night Western Caribbean Cruise from Galveston

  • Sailing to Progreso, Mexico

4- Night Western Caribbean Cruise from New Orleans

  • Sailing to Cozumel, Mexico

5- Night Western Caribbean Cruise from New Orleans

  • Sailing to Cozumel, Mexico & Progreso, Mexico

The cheapest Alaskan cruise is about the price of the Concierge Level for other Disney Cruises.

7 – Night Alaskan Cruise from Vancouver

  • Sailing to Glacier Viewing (Stikine Icecap), Alaska; Skagway, Alaska; Juneau, Alaska; Ketchikan, Alaska

Disney Crusie Cost

Mid-Range Disney Cruise Pricing

A 5 – 6 day cruise is a great mid-price range budget. Typically with these cruises you will have enough time to explore the ship while also getting at least two, if not three days in a port of call to explore your destination.

For the longer 5-6 day cruises, we recommend the oceanview or verandah rooms. To keep the budget down and get to experience more for your money, avoid booking the concierge rooms at these middle price points.

Another great way to spend your money is to book one of the themed cruises. Guests can book the Marvel Day at Sea, a Halloween Cruise, or a Merry Christmas Cruise. The prices are going to be higher for these themed cruises even if they are only 5-6 days long, but you get a lot more special activities.

5-Night Western Caribbean Cruise from Galveston

5- Night Western Caribbean Cruise from Fort Lauderdale

  • 4 guests – 2 adults, 2 children
  • Sails to George Town, Grand Cayman & Disney Castaway Cay

Disney Cruise Alaska

No Restrictive Budget Pricing

The longer cruise you book, the more ports you can stop at and the greater chance you have to stretch your days at sea to fully explore all that the ship has to offer.

The longer the cruise, guests can also experience more themed Disney nights and formal nights as well. This can make the cruise an extra special vacation due to all of the extra magic you are receiving.

Our recommendation for rooms on a cruise any longer than 5 days is to book at least a verandah room if not the concierge rooms. This is going to provide the most space for the times when you need to escape from the hustle and bustle of the ship.

In addition to the longer cruise, specialty cruises can also be booked during peak times if you don’t have an incredibly restrictive budget.

7 Night Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point Inaugural Cruise from Port Canaveral

Disney Cruise Line Discounts

Disney cruises can be expensive, but there are ways to save money.

The best way to save money is to book as soon as you know when you want to sail.

Cruises price rooms by tiers – the earlier you book, the lower the cost.

disney european cruise cost

Special Pricing

Sometimes Disney will offer special pricing for Florida residents, military personnel, travel agents, and cast members.

They may also offer Kids Sail Free to families with children.

Travel Agencies can also offer promotions if you book through them in the form of Shipboard Credit. While on the ship, you can use this credit for spa treatments, merchandise, photos, and more. Be aware these credits expire at the end of your cruise.

Final Thoughts

A Disney Cruise is an exceptionally personal vacation that allows your family to customize the trip that fits what you want and need. With each ship featuring new shows, themed restaurants, amazing kid areas, and specialty adult-only sections, there is a multitude of opportunities that a Disney Cruise ship offers for a vacation – not to mention the amazing destinations.

Unfortunately, because Disney provides so many different ships and opportunities, it is difficult to narrow down the exact price that a cruise will cost your family. One thing for sure is that you can't put a price on the magical memories that will be made on your Disney Cruise vacation.

Alcohol on Disney Cruise Ships: Everything you need to know

P eople take cruises for lots of different reasons. Sometimes they want an easy way to travel to new destinations. Sometimes they just want a vacation. And sometimes that vacation may or may not include alcohol. Since Disney Cruise line does things a little differently than other cruise lines when it comes to drinking, it can be a little confusing. Here’s everything you need to know about alcohol on Disney Cruise Ships!

Disney Cruise Line Does Not Have Drink Packages

First and foremost: Disney Cruise Line does not offer drink packages. Whether you’re a seasoned cruiser, or a newbie, the words Drink Packages are something you’ve likely heard before. Disney does not offer any type of drink package. Most likely because they are generally considered a family cruise. And they probably don’t want to earn the reputation some cruise lines have as being party boats. Plus generally, it makes for less issues overall when most of your guests are at least slightly sober.

They do sell alcohol though, and at plenty of places around the ship. You just have to pay for each drink separately. Drinking on a Disney Cruise can get expensive. So we are going to share everything you need to know about alcohol on a Disney Cruise so you can plan accordingly if you choose to drink.

You can bring your own alcohol on a Disney Cruise

Disney Cruise Line guests can bring up to two bottles of unopened wine or champagne or 6 beers onboard. You must be 21 years or older to do this. And it must be packed in your carryon luggage. Under no circumstances should you pack this in your checked luggage- they’ll take it out and you won’t be reimbursed for it.

Being able to bring your own alcohol onboard means you can save a good chunk of money on drinks. Especially if you’re someone who has a specific type of wine or beer you like. Or if you’re someone who likes to start your day with mimosas. Just grab some orange juice from the upper decks and voila!

You can read Disney’s full alcohol policy here .

Save money on alcohol with Happy Hour Specials on Disney Cruise

In recent years, many of Disney’s ships have started offering Happy Hour Specials. Now these are never guaranteed, but on our last 3 Disney Cruises, we saw them pretty often. You can generally expect to save anywhere from 30-50% off drinks during happy hour on a Disneycruise, so this can save you a good amount of cash. You can find these deals in the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App, and sometimes they’ll also announce them on the morning show if you watch that in your stateroom.

The Drink of the Day will cost you just $5

Disney offers a drink of the day each day you’re onboard. And they just cost $5. Many times, these drinks are a little “watered down” if you will, so they aren’t going to be top shelf or anything like that. But if you’re just looking for a drink without blowing the budget, they’re a good option. The drink changes each day, so you can try something new each time. They also offer a non-alcoholic drink each day as well, so it’s a great way o save money on drinks for everyone.

And the best part is that you can also get the drink of the day on Castaway Cay . So if sitting on the beach with a drink in hand is on your Disney Cruise Vacation to do list, you can also enjoy discounted adult beverages here. You can find the drink of the day in the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App by scrolling all the way to the bottom of the home page. And you’ll find it featured there.

The Refillable Beer Mug can save you money

If you’re a beer drinker who plans to drink beer on your Disney Cruise, you should consider the refillable beer mug. You can buy this from the onboard gifts and amenities page before your cruise, or you can buy it once onboard. The refillable mug is 21 ounces, and it allows you to get refills for the price of a 16 oz. This includes beers and hard ciders onboard. And if you don’t want to lug around the hefty 21 oz glass, you can also ask the bartender to exchange it for a token that you can redeem next time you’d like a refill. This is a great way to save money if you plan to drink beer or hard cider onboard.

The Drinking Age is (sort of) different overseas on a Disney Cruise

Sailing out of ports in Europe and Australia can be a little different than sailing from the US. If you’re sailing from a port in Europe or Australia (or any international port for that matter), the drinking age is flexible. By that, I mean technically, Disney Cruise Line’s drinking age is always 21. But when sailing from an international port with a different drinking age, guests can sign a waiver to be allowed to drink at the age of 18. This usually does need to be signed by a parent or guardian. And comes with a few restrictions.

Generally, the parent or guardian needs to be with the young adult who wants the alcohol. And they do make it very clear that they can stop serving you at any time. The exception to this is when sailing out of Australia and New Zealand, guests who are 18-21 don’t need parental consent to purchase or drink alcohol.

You can bring alcohol onboard from ports on a Disney Cruise

Much like the initial boarding process, guests can bring up to 2 bottles of unopened wine or champagne or 6 beers from each port of call. And yes, you can drink it onboard! Again you must be either 21, or 18 if sailing out of the Australian ports. The only thing to note here is that while you are allowed to purchase liquor at ports of call, you cannot consume it onboard. You actually have to turn it in when you get back onboard and they’ll hold onto it until your journey is over. So feel free to buy duty free rum in the Caribbean. Just know you’ll have to save it until you get home.

Your Stateroom Host can lend you a bottle opener if you don’t have one

Maybe you just forgot. Or maybe you didn’t even think of it! But if you’re bringing your own alcohol onboard, you’ll likely want a bottle opener or corkscrew for your adult beverages. If you forgot one though, that’s ok! Your stateroom host can lend you a bottle opener or corkscrew so you can enjoy your drinks in your room.

You can order alcoholic drinks to be delivered to your room before your cruise

Don’t want to deal with bringing alcohol onboard? Though Disney Cruise Line doesn’t offer drink packages, they do offer the opportunity to order select drinks from their onboard gifts and amenities page before your cruise that will have your drinks waiting for you in your stateroom when you board. You can choose from beer, wine, champagne and even non-alcoholic champagne. And you can also get bottled water while you’re there too.

Hopefully this post has helped clear up any confusion you may have had about alcohol on a Disney Cruise!

Defending Euro champ Italy draws 0-0 against Turkey, which loses Kabak to injury. Portugal wins 4-2

MILAN – Italy stuttered to a 0-0 draw at home to Turkey in the first of two warmup matches before it begins the defense of its European Championship title next week.

Tuesday's match was overshadowed by a serious-looking injury to Turkey defender Ozan Kabak, who appears more than likely to miss Euro 2024 in Germany where he plays his club soccer.

Recommended Videos

Kabak, who plays for Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga, was applauded by both teams and the whole of the stadium in Bologna when he was stretchered off shortly before halftime after injuring his right knee.

The 24-year-old player fell awkwardly following a challenge with Italy forward Mateo Retegui.

Turkey plays its first Euro 2024 match against Georgia on June 18 before facing Portugal and the Czech Republic.

There were few real goalscoring opportunities and Italy’s best chance of the match came with the last piece of action of the first half as Bryan Cristante headed a corner onto the near post.

Retegui wasted a good opportunity in the 59th minute when he opted for an acrobatic overhead kick that went far over the bar.

Juventus midfielder Nicolò Fagioli was brought on shortly afterward for his Italy comeback after recently returning from a seven-month ban from soccer for betting violations.

Bologna defender Riccardo Calafiori was warmly applauded when he came on in the 85th minute for his Italy debut at his home stadium.

Italy has another friendly against Bosnia-Herzegovina on Sunday before kicking off its title defense against Albania on June 15. Spain and Croatia are also in Group B.

RONALDO-LESS PORTUGAL

Without Cristiano Ronaldo, Portugal eased to a 4-2 win over Finland.

Portugal coach Roberto Martinez had already said that Ronaldo would miss his country’s first two friendlies – against Finland and Croatia – as he was being given a rest and allowed to go on a mini-break with his family as the season only recently ended in Saudi Arabia.

He could return for the final warmup against Ireland.

Portugal dominated against Finland and Bruno Fernandes put it 3-0 up in the 55th minute following Ruben Dias’ opener and a penalty converted by Diego Jota on the stroke of halftime.

Teemu Pukki got Finland back into the match with two goals in four minutes before Fernandes doubled his tally.

DOMINANT AUSTRIA

Austria was in firm control from the start as it beat Serbia 2-1.

Patrick Wimmer latched onto Christoph Baumgartner’s through ball to fire Austria ahead in the 10th minute,

Baumgartner got on the scoresheet himself just three minutes later in a dominant first half for the hosts.

Strahinja Pavlovic reduced the deficit with a header in the 35th.

Austria faces France, Poland and the Netherlands in Group D, while Serbia is in in Group C with England, Slovenia and Denmark.

UNBEATEN RUN ENDED

Hungary’s 14-match unbeaten run was ended by a 2-1 loss to Ireland.

Substitute Troy Parrott broke from his own half to pounce in stoppage time to hand Ireland the surprise win.

Adam Idah had headed Ireland in front in the 36th minute but Adam Lang leveled four minutes later.

Hungary, which was the only Euro 2024-bound team other than Serbia to lose on Tuesday, will face Switzerland, Germany and Scotland in Group A.

Romania midfielder Dennis Man had a penalty saved as his team drew 0-0 against Bulgaria. Switzerland thrashed Estonia 4-0 and Slovenia beat Armenia 2-1.

You won't be bored on a party cruise.

The magic of a cruise vacation is created with culinary delights, exotic ports of call, comfortable accommodations, carefully curated spaces and, of course, parties. These onboard celebrations can take many forms: large dance parties and quiet lounges, family-friendly and adults-only, adrenaline-pumping and relaxing activities, elegant and come-as-you-are events, and entire ships transformed into themed cruises .

Prepare for fun times on the following ships hosting the best party cruises at sea.

Ripcord by iFly is billed as the only skydiving simulator at sea; North Star allows cruisers to snap stunning photos from the tallest viewing deck found on any cruise ship; Sky Pad provides a virtual reality experience while patrons jump on a bungee trampoline; and the Ultimate Abyss, named the tallest slide at sea, plunges 10 stories down.
  • Surprise events: Scattered throughout the ship are several surprise activities that pop up among the scheduled itinerary of events. Join a toga party; boogie at a disco brigade; dress for a masquerade party; or transport back in time at an '80s-inspired extravaganza.
