5 Travel Palembang Pagaralam Via Lahat PP

Sebelum naik travel palembang pagaralam, simak baik baik artikel ini. Pagaralam adalah salah satu destinasi baru di provinsi sumatera selatan. Kota ini merupakan salah satu subterminal agribisnis (STA) di provinsi Sumatra Selatan yang menghasilkan penghasil sayur sayuran, buah-buahan terbaik. Tanah yang subur masuk dalam kelas 1 untuk kelayakan tanaman. Selain penghasil pertanian dan perkebunan, Kota ini juga terdapat potensi wisata dan situs purbakala. Ada sekitar 33 air terjun dan 26 situs  menhir  yang sudah tercatat di Dinas Setempat.

Kota pagar alam berjarak sekitar 298 km dari  kota Palembang dan berbatasan langsung dengan kabupaten kaur Provinsi Bengkulu. Transportasi umum yang digunakan untuk menuju kota ini diantaranya ada pesawat terbang, bus dan travel. Di Pagaralam ada bandara Atang bungsu yang memiliki 3 rute, yaitu rute palembang, bengkulu dan jakarta. Sementara Bus ada Ada sinardempo dan terakhir puluhan travel palembang pagaralam yang siap antar jemput penumpang.

Rekomendasi Travel Palembang Pagaralam

Salah satu transportasi umum yang murah dan jadwal banyak adalah travel. Untuk menuju kota pagaralam dari arah jakarta ada 3 rute travel, yaitu rute travel palembang pagaralam via muara enim, via lampung-pagaralam via muara dua dan bengkulu pagar alam. Namun untuk rute terbaik dan ramai adalah rute palembang. Kami sudah mencatat beberapa alamat, no hp, jadwal serta harga tiket sebagai berikut.

Pinang Mas Travel salah satu travel favorite yang bisa digunakan pengunjung dari palembang menuju kota pagar alam. Travel ini mengambil rute perjalanan mulai dari Palembang – Muara enim – Lahat – Pagaralam dan sebaliknya dengan Armada toyota hiace yang siap mengantar dan menjemput penumpang. Nusa Indah Trans adalah salah satu biro perjalanan yang masih tergolong belum lama karena baru berdiri pada tahun 2017 di Kota Bengkulu. The hidden gem of Pagar Alam – Things to do

Known as the land of a thousand waterfalls and megaliths, Pagar Alam is a hidden gem found in the hills of South Sumatra. This small unassuming city is relatively unknown to foreign visitors, which makes it an ideal destination for exploring before it gets too touristy. While we were there, we only met 1 foreign solo traveller from New York!

Pagar Alam is located 298km from the city of Palembang , and is completely surrounded by breathtaking hills and mountain ridges. If you need some fresh air away from the city and crowds, Pagar Alam is an awesome alternative destination. (Yes you can still find clean air from our neighbours)

We were in Pagar Alam for a couple of days and here are some of my favourite things to do in Pagar Alam.

(1) Climb Mount Dempo

At 3,173m high, Mount Dempo is the highest volcano in South Sumatra. For the adventurous, you can choose to hike up this active volcano for it’s spectacular views.There are 7 craters around the summit and even a 400m wide lake. Better still, camp at the caldera near the top of Mount Dempo! Sleep under the stars and take in the sunrise in the morning.

For the seasoned hiker, it takes about 3hrs up and slightly under that to decent. While a guide is not required, for your safety, you do have to get a permit at the carpark starting point.

(2) Get soaked in waterfalls

A trip to the land of a thousand waterfalls wouldn’t be complete without actually visiting at least one. We went to Curup Embun or Embun waterfall, located near Mount Dempo. The waterfall splits at the top, forming 3 beautiful streams on the way down before ending at a shallow pool. What I like most is that because the water is pretty shallow, it’s safe for you to walk right up to the waterfall. One of the guys had a good water massage standing under one of the steams!

From the entrance, you’ll need to take a 5 minute walk down to the waterfall. Do make a stop at the washroom or snack shops before heading down though. There was also this satay uncle selling grilled snails and cow stomachs on skewers! The grilled snails went very well with the spicy sauce and were so cheap that I can’t remember the price. Escargots on a budget!

Curup Lematang, Curup Maung and Curup Mangkok are worth checking out too.

(3) Go megalith hunting

Go back in time hunting for ancient megaliths all over the Pasemah Highlands in Pagar Alam. While no one knows who erected the megalithic monuments, archaeologists agree that these stone statues date back to at least 3000 years ago. Many of these ancient sites can be found at odd places, in the middle of plantations or just off the side of the road.

The more obvious sites are Tinggi Hari, Atung Bungsu, Tebing Tinggi, and Tegur Wangi.

(4) Explore tea plantations

Pagar Alam is literally surrounded by tea plantations. Wherever you look, the blanket of green stretches as far as the eye can see. Every day, thousands of tea pickers go about the plantations, picking young tea leaves for sorting. We simply drove by one of the many tea plantations, and alighted to explore and take pictures. Most of the tea pickers were very friendly as well, and would greet you with warm smiles. If you know Bahasa Indonesia, I’m sure they would strike up a conversation with you!

For those really interested in tea, you can even try to arrange a visit to the old school tea factory.

(5) Fuel the adrenaline junkie in you

The thing that surprised me the most though, were the outdoor activities available in Pagar Alam. Other than climbing Mount Dempo, you can go white water rafting, hop on a motocross dirt bike, or drive an off road buggy!

There is a community of adrenaline junkies who gather at a track near Padang Serunting as well. That was where we were lucky enough to be taken on a spin!

Where to stay at Pagar Alam:

We stayed at  Villa & Hotel Wisata Gunung Gare , which has basic but comfortable rooms and villas. What I love most is that it’s situated near the foot of a mountain, in the middle of some tea plantations. Simply step outside for wonderful views already.

How to get to Pagaralam:

The easiest way from Singapore to Pagaralam is to first fly from Singapore to Palembang (6 flights/week). From Palembang, you can then fly to Atung Bungsu Airport in Pagaralam (4 times a week – Mon, Thu, Fri, Sat).

Alternatively, I would suggest renting a car or driver from Palembang and taking a slow 7 hour drive to Pagaralam. Doing this road trip style will give you a lot more opportunities to drive past other beautiful sites in South Sumatra. The last stretch towards Pagaralam is extremely scenic.

If you’re not confident of arranging this trip due to language difficulties, I’ll suggest using a tour agency instead. We went with Gama Hita Mulia Travels , and loved our guides Inggih and Dwiki. Do say help me say hi if you see them!

Orang Indonesia kalau jalan-jalan kebanyakan pasti mencari objek wisata atau aktivitas wisata. Memang tidak banyak objek wisata yang ‘wah’ di Pagaralam kalau yang kalian cari adalah objek wisata besar seperti Jam Gadang di Bukittinggi atau Kawah Tiga Warna di Kelimutu. Kalau masih kurang puas naik Tangga 2001, ada view point yang lebih tinggi lagi. Tugu Rimau ini lokasinya ada di atas area perkebunan teh di kaki gunung Dempo. Di sana ada patung harimau yang menjadi ikon event Pekan Olahraga Nasional 2004 di mana Sumatera Selatan menjadi tuan rumahnya dan di kaki gunung Dempo itu jadi venue perlombaan paralayang.

Dari Cughup Tujuh Kenangan kami mampir ke Cughup Mangkok yang lokasinya tidak begitu jauh. Rupanya air terjun di Pagaralam lokasinya tidak terlalu jauh satu sama lain, bahkan ada yang membentuk aliran sungai yang sama.

Yang ini sepertinya merupakan tempat wisata baru yang belum diketahui banyak orang. Di sebuah aliran sungai di desa Tanjung Sakti (sekitar 1 jam perjalanan dari Pagaralam) ada beberapa sumber air panas yang keluar dari dalam tanah dan langsung mengalir ke sungai. Suhunya beragam di titik-titik yang berbeda, kadang panas banget kadang suam-suam kuku karena bercampur dengan aliran air sungai yang dingin.

Tanjung Sakti lumayan jauh sih, 1 jam dari kota pagaralam. Curup embun-nya ditukar sama curup 7 kenangan 😉

ahh itu air terjunnya menggoda sekali untuk berbasah-basah ria. tapi pikir pikir dulu kalo mau ke Sumsel, ada nganu soalnya *malu*

Dismas the thief

Saint Dismas (sometimes spelled Dysmas or only Dimas , or even Dumas ), also known as the Good Thief or the Penitent Thief , is the "good thief" described in the Gospel of Luke. This unnamed thief, is crucified alongside Christ repenting of his sins, and asking Jesus Christ to remember him in his kingdom. The name Dismas for this thief dates back to the 12th century, and various traditions have assigned him other names. The church has never canonised Dismas, though he is regarded as a saint by virtue of Christ informing him that he would be the first in Paradise. Commemorated March 25 .

According to the Scriptures , Christ crucified along with two others yet none of the gospel's actually name them. The Gospel of Luke describes one of these thiefs as "penitent", who was later assigned the name Dismas in the Gospel of Nicodemus . The name of "Dismas" was adapted from a Greek word meaning "sunset" or "death." The other thief's name is given as Gestas. The apocryphal Arabic Infancy Gospel calls the two thieves "Titus and Dumachus", and adds a tale about how Titus (the good one) prevented the other thieves in his company from robbing Mary and Joseph during their Flight into Egypt. In the Russian tradition the Good Thief's name is Rakh .

Patriarch Theophilus of Alexandria (385-412) wrote a Homily on the Crucifixion and the Good Thief, which is classic Coptic literature. In the Eastern Orthodox Church one of the hymns of Good Friday, commemorating the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ and his death at Golgotha , is entitled, The Good Thief (or The Wise Thief, Church Slavonic: Razboinika blagorazumnago ), and speaks of how Christ granted Dismas Paradise. There are also several moving compositions of this hymn which are used by the Russians and form one of the highlights of the Matins service on Good Friday.

We love hearing from guests about their time in Russia and one comment often hear is how surprised people are by the Russian capital. We can’t say for certain what people expected but we do know that it’s always far removed from what they imagined! It’s been called a modern metropolis, a cosmopolitan city, an historic gem, an architectural treasure and a cultural powerhouse, among other descriptions. Majestic Moscow has always surprised our guests and left them with lasting and fond memories.

Russia’s famous Golden Ring is an archipelago of historic towns surrounding Moscow. Uglich is one of the oldest and was founded under Igor, the last Varangian prince. It once resisted the Mongol invasion and its ancient walls saw the grisly murder of young Dmitri, son of Ivan the Terrible. The impressive Church of St. Dmitri on the Blood, with its classic onion domes and blood red walls, is a fine example of classic Russian architecture. The tour ends with an enchanting choral concert.

This, the oldest city on the Volga River, and now a UNESCO World Heritage site, boasts a wealth of ancient orthodox treasures. The impressive Transfiguration of the Savior, adorned with murals depicting St. John’s apocalyptic visions can be seen in the Spassky Monastery. The Church of St. Elijah the Prophet is decorated with an awe-inspiring selection of rich frescoes. For a real taste of pre-revolutionary Russia, visitors are entertained by a costumed reception at the Governor’s House.

Close to the shores of White Lake once were the ‘tsar’s fishing grounds’. It lies in a place so serene that ancient monks chose to build no fewer than three holy sites here, including the Ferapontov Monastery. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, its chapels boast magnificent frescoes by Dionysius, one of Russia’s most renowned icon painters. The Kirillo-Belozersky Monastery was a refuge for many nobles during tumultuous times and later a fortress that successfully repelled invading armies.

The Karelia region is a vast and naturally beautiful wilderness that spreads all the way from St. Petersburg to the Arctic Circle. The glorious island village of Kizhi consists almost entirely of the traditionally styled wooden buildings of ‘Old Russia’. Among them is the famous Transfiguration Church built in 1714. Remarkably, and in testament to the craftsmen of the time, not a single nail was used in its construction! Kizhi is one of the favorite stops on the river cruise to St. Petersburg.

A typical rural hamlet brought to life by warm and welcoming villagers. Volga Dream guests are invited into local homes to enjoy classic Russian fare, tea with jam and ‘pirozhki’ (pies). Enthusiastic hosts share Russian traditions and the appeal of village life while proudly showing off their scrupulously kept homes and kitchen gardens. The tour continues with a brief bus ride to see a unique World War II memorial and then, for a real glimpse of Russian life, a visit to a local primary school.

Nizhny Novgorod

This was once a wealthy city thanks to its proximity to rich eastern trading routes. During the Soviet era, the city was closed to outsiders because of its military importance. It’s also where many political prisoners were sent to live out their days in exile. The 16th-century Kremlin ramparts offer spectacular views and the city is known for its elaborately decorated churches. For Volga Dream cruise guests, the highlight of the day is an evening folk concert performed by local children.

Sailing along the Volga river, the riverbank gradually ceases to be dominated by Orthodox churches. Instead, beautiful mosques appear as the river crosses into Tatarstan where the first stop is scenic Kazan, the region’s capital. Inside the white walls of the citadel, the famous Kul Sharif mosque and the old Cathedral of Peter and Paul stand side-by-side symbolizing the two faiths’ long and peaceful coexistence in the region. A concert of traditional Tatar music ends the Volga Dream tour in Kazan.

Passing the Zhigulevskie Mountains offers wonderful views from the sundeck before touring the city. One of the key attractions is the fascinating Space Museum, which offers a revealing glimpse of how the Soviet Union pursued its ambitious journey to the cosmos. The town is also noted for its beautiful esplanade, perfect for a relaxed stroll beside the Volga river. This in turn leads to the Samara State Art Museum. Founded in 1897, it is home to a collection of more than 16,000 works of art.

This city is best known for its close associations with cosmonaut, Yuri Gagarin. The Russian hero who achieved worldwide fame as the first man in space lived and studied here. Saratov used to be home to a large German community, a heritage that can still be seen in the local architecture. The Volga Dream tour visits the Radishchev State Art Museum, the first picture gallery in Russia outside Moscow and St. Petersburg.

Originally called Tsaritsyn, the city was renamed Stalingrad from 1925 to 1961 in honor of the USSR’s leader. During World War II, the city’s residents put up a heroic defense, repelling an advancing Nazi invasion. The battle for Stalingrad has gone down in history as a pivotal moment in the bloody conflict on the eastern front. The most ferocious and deadly fighting took place on Mamayev Hill, where an imposing memorial now stands close to the excellent Battle of Stalingrad Panorama Museum.

Saint Petersburg

If Moscow surprises, then St Petersburg delights. Peter the Great founded the city to showcase Russia’s newfound enlightenment. He wanted to show the modern world a cultured and advanced society. In short, he built the city to impress and in that he succeeded splendidly! The striking buildings were designed by some of the finest architects Europe had to offer and even now, the ‘Venice of the North’ never fails to enchant with its spectacular buildings and impressive canal network. It is a city of true grandeur.

Commanding any ship is a complex role that calls for a long list of skills. Captains know their vessels inside out as well as well as the routes they sail and when things don’t go to plan, they have to make instant decisions. Above all though, the most important part of the job, underpinning everything they do, is to keep the ship and everyone aboard safe. The Captain’s cocktail party is a great and a wonderful opportunity for passengers and crew to get acquainted as the gets underway.

Academics devote whole lifetimes to studying Russia’s long past and one of them presents a series of lectures shedding light on everything from Gorbachev to Chekhov, Khrushchev to Ivan the Terrible and of course, contemporary Russia. Our Professor is on board throughout the river cruise for informal conversation.

The Russian language can be rather beautiful and poetic and we know that many seasoned travelers enjoy trying their hand at different languages. Russian Cooking Class

A plate of pelmeni might not look like much to the untrained eye, but it forms the heart of Russian cuisine and culture. Basically, it's a type of dumpling: small portions of meat and onion wrapped in a thin sheet of unleavened dough and boiled, a little like ravioli. Guests can join a Russian cooking class onboard the MS Volga Dream to learn how to cook this delicious Russian dish.

We liked that she could pick up on our interests and take us places we might not have thought of to go. Riding the Metro with Lena was a real adventure and a lot of fun. In Saint Petersburg we found Anna well versed in the history of the Tsars and in the Hermitage collection. Arkady in Veliky Novgorod was a very good guide and answered all of our questions with ease. Novgorod was perhaps a long way to go for a day trip, but we did enjoy it. Vasily was a great driver to have and kept us safe with good humour and skill. We enjoyed ourselves so much, my daughter says she is already planning to return. We would both have no hesistation to recommend ExpresstoRussia to anyone we know.

Just wanted to let you know that My grandson Bruno and I couldn´t have been more pleased with our week in Moscow (6/15 - 6/21). We were absolutely enchanted with the whole experience, including getting lost a couple of times in the Metro during our free time. Although both our guides (both Eleanas) were excellent, I would particularly commend the first one (she took us to the Tatiakov, the KGB tour, and to that beautiful cemetery where so many great Russian artists, authors, composers, musicians, militarists, and politicians are buried). Her knowledge is encyclopedic; and her understanding of today´s Russia as a product of its past was, for us, truly enlightening. I will be taking another tour in Russia, with my wife, within the next two or three years. I will be in touch with you when the time comes. Meanwhile, I will refer you to other potential visitors to Russia as I meet them.

Moscow Tours centering on Russian History

Moscow has a long and interesting history and has been the capital of Russia in many of its different iterations – capital of the Grand Duchy of Moscow , the Russian Empire and of course the Soviet Union (who could ever forget the Soviet Union?). Moscow, was founded in the 12th century by Prince Yuri Dolgaruki (Yuri of the long arms – he really did have long arms!). From that time on, it was home to the Russian Tsars until Peter the Great moved the capital to St. Petersburg in 1703.
