Diamond Tours entertainment

Diamond Tours is the perfect solution for your group travel needs, and the value is unbeatable. Check out what they have to say about planning your next excursion.

Why do groups use Diamond Tours?

Groups use Diamond Tours because we provide the best value in the group travel business. We optimize our position as one of the largest providers of group motorcoach tours in the United States by negotiating the best deals with hotels, restaurants, attractions and bus companies, and pass the savings along to our customers. Groups also travel with us because of our expertise and longevity. We have been in business since 1987, and have a team of highly qualified tour planners to ensure that every aspect of your itinerary and your travel experience is done to the highest level of satisfaction.

How does Diamond Tours reach travelers?

We have a call center which is open for sales inquiries from 9AM to 6PM Eastern Time, Monday through Friday. We also have our website, www.diamondtours.com , where a group leader can register for free and instantly view exact pricing and itineraries, including motorcoach transportation customized to depart from his or her hometown. We also publish a yearly catalog with all our pricing and itineraries, customized to be comprehensive departing from the recipient’s hometown. In addition, when you are traveling with Diamond Tours, the group leader has 24-hour access to our emergency telephone numbers so we can immediately address any issue that may arise while the trip is in progress. We also have a team of Destination Managers who work in-person at most of our destinations to greet the groups and make sure the tour goes as planned.

What types of groups use Diamond Tours? What are the group size ranges and what group size is most common?

Diamond Tours hosts church groups, senior citizen centers, AARP groups, alumni associations, family reunions, social groups, travel agencies and more. We typically accommodate groups from 30 to 52 people, with many averaging around 40 to 45 people. However, when groups are unable to reach the minimum of 30 people, we are often able to find solutions that enable them to travel with fewer people, such as sharing a bus with another small group. We also have a “Join a Bus Tour” program, which connects individual travelers and small groups with existing Diamond Tours travel groups that have a tour scheduled to depart from their area.

NYC with Diamond Tours

Does Diamond Tours book pre-established trips or offer exclusive group departures?

All Diamond Tours departures are initially booked by a group leader looking to fill a bus with his or her group members.

What’s the touring style? What’s customizable, what’s included and what’s offered?

Diamond Tours offers a comfortable, senior citizen-friendly touring style. Our customers can depend on clean, safe, comfortable accommodations which include a continental breakfast and a dependable, modern motorcoach. Our itineraries are designed with the needs of senior citizens in mind. We time the itineraries to ensure that our customers have a relaxing, rewarding travel experience each day and are well rested each night. We keep in mind that senior citizens often prefer to limit the amount of walking required on the tour. Our tours are pre-planned, but there are often options available for groups with specific interests, for example, groups interested in African American history or groups which prefer not to include gaming in their tour. Our tours include all breakfasts, most dinners, all transportation, all accommodations, and all tours and attractions. We also provide free full-color custom promotional flyers, and the services of our on-site Destination Managers and our 24-hour telephone support while on the tour.

What are the average lengths of trips?

Most of our trips are structured around a four-night stay in the destination, plus anywhere from one to three nights en route each way, depending on how far the chosen destination is from the group’s departure point.

What are the most popular destinations where Diamond Tours’ groups are choosing to travel?

We serve a broadly diverse customer base, so the popularity of various destinations depends upon the interests of the various groups. Cape Cod and Mackinac Island are popular with customers interested in quaint picturesque towns, and our Maine trip is an exciting offering as well. People who love big cities love New York City, Washington DC, Chicago and New Orleans, among others. We also offer a trip which features the best of Canada’s major cities: Montreal, Ottawa and Quebec City, all in one travel experience. For customers interested in show trips, Branson, Myrtle Beach, Nashville, Pigeon Forge and Lancaster are favorites. We also have many customers seeking warm-weather experiences, who choose destinations like Miami, San Antonio or Savannah. Customers interested in a spiritual experience often choose our Cincinnati trip, which features a visit to the Ark Encounter & Creation Museum.

25 Best Things to Do in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Planning a trip to the Grand Strand? These activities and attractions in Myrtle Beach will keep everyone in your group happy.

diamond tours myrtle beach

Located in the middle of the Grand Strand that stretches for 60 miles along South Carolina's Atlantic Coast, Myrtle Beach attracts tourists galore with its bustling oceanfront boardwalk, gorgeous beaches, golf courses, nightlife, and more. While summer is a popular time to visit, it's a year-round destination with attractions for every season, travel style, and budget.

Here are 25 fun things to do in Myrtle Beach, from soaring above the sandy strip to embracing your inner pirate on a themed cruise — this is the old stomping ground of Blackbeard and the gang, after all.

See Myrtle Beach from above on the SkyWheel.

Take in miles of Myrtle Beach's skyline and ocean views from the SkyWheel , a 200-foot Ferris wheel with snazzy all-glass, gondola-style boxes that allow 360-degree views from high up. For a VIP experience, you and three friends can lounge on leather seats in your own glass-floored car.

Race along the tracks in go-karts.

Head to The Track for a go-kart ride on the Mighty Myrtle elevated track, where drivers ride up three and a half stories and circle back down with an exciting drop at the end. At the Broadway Grand Prix , seven go-kart tracks range from the Pro Track for experienced drivers to the Family Track for all levels. There's also a Junior Racer and Kids Track so everyone can get behind the wheel for some driving fun.

Root for the home team.

For some local baseball action, check out the Myrtle Beach Pelicans , a Single-A Affiliate team of the Chicago Cubs. Promotions include Fireworks Fridays and a chance for kids ages 12 and under to run the bases after every game.

Soak up the sun at the beach

Myrtle Beach is home to dozens of public beaches that are perfect for sunning, swimming, surfing, wading, and searching for seashells and shark teeth along the shore. Several beaches offer wheelchair access as well as chairs equipped with balloon tires, making them more accessible to everyone.

Explore the shore by Jet Ski or banana boat.

Ride with your group of three to 10 on a banana boat, a yellow banana-shaped tube that's towed through the waves. You can choose from several Myrtle Beach companies, including Downwind Sails and Express Watersports . Rent a Jet Ski to speed through the ocean at your own pace, or join a tour for a guided excursion through the Intracoastal Waterway's tributaries for sightseeing and fun. Companies such as Island Adventure Watersports and Express Watersports offer rentals and tours.

Go on a guided kayak tour.

Penny Britt / Getty Images

Take a guided kayak tour through Myrtle Beach's streams and backwaters to experience the unique environments and wildlife of the area, including the Waccamaw River, marshes, and local islands. Tours are offered by J & L Kayakin g and Great Escapes Kayak Expeditions , among other locally owned companies.

Keep an eye out for dolphins.

Go on a cruise to see dolphins swimming alongside the boat, or spend a day deep-sea fishing with one of several Myrtle Beach companies such as Voyager or Hurricane Fleet . You can also soar over the area on a parasail adventure for a bird's-eye view of Myrtle Beach and the Atlantic. Feel the breeze, spot some dolphins, and enjoy a thrilling experience with Downwind Sails, Express Watersports, or New Wave Watersports .

Hit the water on your own.

Take out a pontoon boat, stand-up paddleboard, canoe, or scuba gear from one of the many Myrtle Beach rental companies to explore the area at your own pace. There are plenty of places to go on the river as well as along the coast.

Play classic arcade games.

Kids of all ages (or anyone who considers themselves to be young at heart) will have a blast at the  Myrtle Beach Pinball Museum . It costs $12 per hour to access to the interactive museum's 26 vintage pinball machines from the 1970s, '80s, and '90s. You won't have to worry about digging for loose change or purchasing tokens — once inside, all machines are set to free play, so you can spend every minute just enjoying the game.

Tee off at top golf courses.

More than 90 public, private, and semi-private golf courses in the Myrtle Beach area make it a favorite destination for golf fans from all over. Consider the variety of price ranges, landscapes, and courses designed by famed golf course architects like Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, and Robert Trent Jones, every golfer can find the perfect place to play.

Opt for a kid-friendly miniature golf course.

For family fun and entertainment, Myrtle Beach boasts more than 50 miniature golf courses, with a variety of themes, prices, and locations to choose from. Even if you're not traveling with kids, it's a great date-night activity or a fun way to strike up a little friendly competition. Some of the most popular courses include the Atlantis-themed Mt. Atlanticus Minotaur Golf , Neverland-inspired Captain Hook's Adventure Golf , and the indoor-outdoor Cancun Lagoon .

Visit a world-class art museum.

Once you've had your fill of the beach, head inside to check out the impressive permanent collection of Southern art, antique maps, historical prints, and crafts at the Franklin G. Burroughs-Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum . Don't forget to stop by the gift shop to pick up souvenirs in the form of books, jewelry, stationery, or home decor.

Listen to live music for free.

There's nothing like stumbling upon a band or musician putting on a great show, especially when it's free. That's what you get during the Music on Main Concert Series on Main Street, running perpendicular to Ocean Boulevard, in North Myrtle Beach. The series takes place on Thursdays from June through September.

Get hands-on at the Children's Museum.

Traveling with little ones? Head to the EdVenture Children’s Museum , where kids can get in on the action with immersive exhibits showing them how things work at a supermarket, at the beach (geared toward ages three and under), in a cafe, and at the doctor's and dentist's office. Other displays focus on STEM topics such as space and flight, while a few more take a closer look at auto mechanics, motor skills and balance, performing arts, construction, art, magnets, and wind tunnels.

Admire plants and animals at Brookgreen Gardens.

Brookgreen Garden s is home to 9,127 acres featuring stunning botanical gardens, an extensive collection of American sculptures, the Lowcountry Zoo, and the Lowcountry History and Wildlife Preserve. Whether you make time to visit just one or several of these attractions, you're in for a real treat.

Take in the area's natural beauty.

Luckily for nature lovers, the area is home to two state parks that are both worth visiting. Make time for Myrtle Beach State Park , an oceanfront destination with nature trails, bike paths, equestrian trails, a fishing pier, and several picnic areas. Located at the southern end of Myrtle Beach, there's also Huntington Beach State Park , which has 2,500 acres of hiking trails, marshes, bays, and opportunities for overnight camping.

Sip the day away at a nearby winery.

Duplin Winery is a great place to sample a variety of sweet vino while enjoying cheese, crackers, and a virtual tour of its Rose Hill, North Carolina, home base. As part of the tour, you'll have a chance to hand-bottle your own wine to take home. Nearby, Carolina Vineyards Winery , located near the Intracoastal Waterway in North Myrtle Beach, offers a variety of tastings, including frozen wine during the summer.

Sample local beers at a microbrewery.

New South Brewing , a microbrewery in Myrtle Beach that's been open since 1998, serves ales, lagers, IPAs, and seasonal specialties such as Oktoberfest and Dark Star Porter. Meanwhile, Tidal Creek Brewhouse offers not just small-batch craft beers but also freshly brewed coffee and Lowcountry food favorites like fried green tomatoes and shrimp and grits.

Geek out over classic cars.

Classic car enthusiasts can geek out over all their favorite models at the  Wheels of Yesteryear Vintage Automobile Museum . Open in Myrtle Beach since 2009, the museum showcases a collection of more than 150 American-made cars and trucks that husband-and-wife founders Paul and Carol Cummings have been assembling over decades. Visit the gift shop to pick up nostalgic die-cast collectible versions of your favorite vehicles, plus shirts and other car-centric souvenirs.

Learn about wildlife at Ripley's Aquarium.

Courtesy of Ripley's Aquarium of Myrtle Beach

Don't miss  Ripley’s Aquarium of Myrtle Beach ; not only is it a wonderful place to view sea creatures like stingrays up close, but also sloths and other South American critters. Check the website before you go to book additional experiences such as behind-the-scenes tours of the Marine Science Center, penguin encounters, glass-bottom boat rides, sleepover parties, or the ever-popular Breakfast With a Mermaid event.

Embrace your inner pirate.

Get ready to don cheesy pirate gear and practice your best "Arrrrrrr!" Myrtle Beach — and the entire Carolina coast, for that matter — was once a haven for Blackbeard, Anne Bonny, and heaps of other infamous pirates back in the day, so why not get in on some family-friendly pirate action on a themed cruise while you're in town? Blackbeard’s Pirate Cruise  and  Pirate Adventures of Myrtle Beach each offer kid-friendly sailings that might include temporary pirate tattoos, costumes for the kiddos, stories about those who once sailed through these waters, or a treasure-seeking adventure that ends in an epic water cannon battle.

Cruise the Intracoastal Waterway on a riverboat.

If you'd like to enjoy a boat ride that's a little less pirate-y, you can always opt to cruise the Intracoastal Waterway on the  Barefoot Queen riverboat instead. She features several indoor and outdoor decks to spread out on, with onboard narration and entertainment, as well as a fully stocked bar to enjoy while you take in views of the surrounding area. Scenic daytime and lunch cruises are 1.5 hours long, while dinner cruises last two hours.

Master the waves at Kokopelli Surf Camp.

Pick up a new beach hobby at Kokopelli Surf Camp , which runs group and private lessons designed for every level, whether you're just starting out or want to brush up on your skills. Three-day camp sessions are also offered for kids, while surfboard rentals are available if you'd rather do your own thing.

Experience early-1900s farm life.

Part of the Horry County Museum, the L.W. Paul Living History Farm  lets you see what it was like to live in the area as a farmer between 1900 and 1955. Demonstrations and presentations change seasonally according to what's happening on the farm. Guided tours are free and last about an hour, so it's worth checking out if you're suddenly craving a little time away from the beach.

Tour a popular local distillery.

Take a behind-the-scenes tour of the Twelve 33 Distillery for a chance to see how some of your favorite spirits are created "from grain to glass," and how locally sourced ingredients make the craft cocktails served here really stand out. Among the distillery's specialties are several types of rye whiskey, spiced rum, vodka, and gin with ties to South Carolina's prohibition era. Pro tip: book the VIP tour to enjoy a special tasting flight in the distillery's secret speakeasy.

We had a wonderful overview of Charleston. We were on a horse and carriage through the streets, then on a boat in the harbor, and finally on the oldest working plantation-339 years! The driver and tour directors were informative and entertaining.

We took the Charleston day trip as a girl's fun day! It was nice to have everything planned for you and you just go with the flow. The activities-carriage ride, city market, Harbor boat ride and the Boone Plantation visit were all fabulous! I highly recommend it!

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Charleston. The carriage ride was very informative, harbor cruise was relaxing, great shopping at the marketplace, and Boone Plantation was a fantastic place to see. Try the praline pecan ice cream at their shop!

We had a wonderful time. The trip was organized and gave us plenty of time to enjoy each stop. We loved going though the historic Charleston and my husband loved the harbor tour. The tour though the plantation was very informative!

We really enjoyed all legs of this tour. All portions were very informative and interesting. We would highly recommend this as an introductory tour to Charleston. We’ve decided we need to plan to spend a couple of days in Charleston, as we enjoyed it so much.

Previously, me and my wife had taken two diamond tours that were very good. However a trip to New Orleans in April 2020 changed that. First the bus driver and group leaders did a good job. This is all on Diamond Tours. On 4/2/2023 we arrived at the Wingate, InnGoodetsville TN. We arrived at approximately 5 PM. Fellow travelers were standing in the lobby about an hour later still waiting to be checked in for up to two hours to get their room! Unacceptable Plus the next morning their was hardly any thing for breakfast. During the trip Diamond Tours provided 4 dinners included in the price of the trip Three were at a buffet. The other one was at Landry's Seafood Restaurant on Decatur Street. The bus driver was told not to drop us off in front of the resturant, because according to our Diamond Representative (who stated "the New Orleans trip is a tough one), it is against the law to drop off passengers in front of the restaurant. Well, handicapped individuals had to walk several blocks, and one almost passed out! We finally get to the place and our selections were grilled chicken, fried shrimp and pasta. The grilled chicken was over cooked. The Shrimp and fries were a skimpy serving and when we asked for bread that was an extra charge! When you go to New Orleans you want to experience the New Orleans food. For dinner we get fried shrimp and chicken, chicken and Chicken! The sites visited were great, however the food selection was terrible!

We did a senior trip to Santa Fe & Albuburque in May We were told not to use the restroom on the bus (only for emergencies) We were booked at the Comfort Inn & Suites Downtown 411 McKnight Ave. NW. On arrival, we were told by our driver now to go outside the building alone as it was unsafe because of homeless people camped outside the hotel. The hotel backs up to Interstate. 24 hour traffic! The entire hotel smelled (not a clean smell. We had COCKROACHES in our room. Front desk would not change our room only commented that hadn't happened previously. Front desk personnel also put out breakfast items without gloves or washing hands after walking over from desk. The day before we were going to head home, cops arrive and were walking the outside perimeter with guns drawn. The first night we went to a restaurant that had not idea we were coming (36 people) Another night the Golden Corral put us in a confined area. We went to get food. They moved our location to different tables as another party arrived. The Crown Plaza hosted a enjoyable buffet with table cloths and cloth napkins. On our way home, someone needed to use restroom as it had been a few hours of travel. They could not be talked into using the bus restroom because of how we were told NOT to. We stopped at a fast food restaurant were a number of people went to use the restrooms there. We could go on and on and on. Needless to say we do not recommend this tour company It was horrible!!

Melisa booked The Ramada Pigeon Forge North. My 1st room had mold in the bath tub, The 2nd "newly renovated" room had a torn sheet, mold around the toilet and rust around the overflow in the bathtub. Melisa also booked the cheapest buffets style dinners. Shoney's on the 1st night and Golden Corral on the last night. One night we went to Harpoon Harry's crab house and was given a choice of pork or chicken. The bus driver was great but the bus was not. We were told the toilet on the bus was for emergency only and to use the bathrooms at the rest stops. The video player had a crackling noise so loud that the movie could not be heard. In this year, 2024, I expected that the bus would have individual ports for patrons to customize the volume and or channel/movie to watch like the airlines do.

I just came back from an awful 7-day/6-night trip to New Orleans with 45 other black seniors. This trip was a waste of time and money. The trip was booked through Diamond Tours for just under $1,000 apiece. We were expecting a large, spacious bus like others from previous Diamond Tours trips; our bus was far from comfortable. The seats were so crammed together - you couldn't stretch your legs out or put your headrest back. Everyone had swollen feet and ankles by the end of the day every day. Included in the price of the trip were several paid dinner options along the way that were terrible. To add insult to injury, they put us in a neighborhood hotel, The Comfort Inn in Marrero, which was 20 minutes outside of New Orleans and far from the sights and sounds of Bourbon St. The hotel looks nothing like the photos online and sits next to a Dollar Tree store on one side and used tires on the other. Upon entering the hotel, we were overcome by a foul, musty smell and disgusted by the dirty, brown carpet. It was immediately obvious we were in a 1-star fleabag hotel; what we didn't anticipate were ACTUAL bugs. That's right, my friend stayed in a room two doors down from us and had BED BUGS with visible BITES on her neck, arms, and back. Regarding the activities, I don't know who thought the World War II museum, a slave plantation, and the other attractions were appropriate for seniors given the amount of walking required, especially for so many of us with limited mobility. The thought of going to New Orleans and not having the option to go out for an evening of jazz, Zydeco music and authentic New Orleans food boggles the imagination. I held out hope for the last night's events, and was bewildered that their idea of an evening of entertainment consisted of doing the "hokey pokey" and line dancing at what felt like a senior community center. I am extremely disappointed with the planning and execution of this trip, but I recognize my experience may not have been the same as others. Two groups of white seniors that we befriended on the trip, who also came on trips sponsored by Diamond Tours, who said they paid the SAME amount as we did, were on MUCH nicer buses and stayed in the heart of the French Quarter.

September, 2023 Cape Cod Tour During our tour, one of our bus tour members passed away while we were on Martha's Vineyard (an island). We immediately communicated with Diamond and received NO support for the bereaved husband or the other members of the tour. We were repeatedly asked by the Diamond Rep. if the husband had insurance which had nothing to do with the logistics help that we were asking for. The bus members bonded together and arranged using Uber to pick up the husband, transport him to our hotel (45 minutes away), and then assist him to get home. Diamond provided no support and after the incident, we heard nothing from them. Our local Tour Guide and Bus driver, who DO NOT work for Diamond, were excellent. As far as the trip. the logistics were terrible. Our hotel was approximately 45 minutes from our tour locations, we ended up, due to traffic, being in the bus an additional 2 hours each day going to and from our hotel. Due to weather, we were forced to change our landing location on Martha's Vineyard. We were then told that we needed to board a public transportation bus (holds 30 people), pay the fee, and travel 20 minutes to reach our original destination. There were 8 busloads of people who arrived on the island. Diamond alone had 186 people. WE all arrived at the same time and attempted to get on a bus. Do the math on how long it took. At one point we were on the Lower cape, had to travel past our hotel for dinner that was an hour away. With the exception of 1 meal, the food was mediocre. The Diamond staff at the food locations were rude. Given the callous behavior of the Diamond team, I recommend you choose another option. Pat B

Too much driving. No water. Good driver. Too many buffet dinners with no choices. Does not choose point of interest stops.

I just got back from a 9 day bus tour to New Mexico through the Godley Park District. I was not impressed at all with the accommodations. The first place we stayed at did not have a room for me. They gave my room away and then was told they didnt know what happened. The desk clerk also had a horrible additude and acted like we were annoying her because she had to find me a room. Very snotty. The bus was awful. Everyone was crammed into thier seats and we were also told that the toilet was to be used in emergencies only. Not a good thing to hear with a bus full of seniors. The trip was NOT geared towards seniors. We had long days without a break, we had long periods on the bus and stopped at gas stations for our lunches, with most not having anywhere to sit, so some of us had to either not eat or stand and wait for a table to sit. We had sites scheduled that some could not even go to because the conditions were not safe for unstable seniors, me included. We went to bass pro shop for 2 1/2 hours. What a waste of time. So for most of that time allot of the seniors just sat. There was to much walking around for some of the seniors that had walking issues. This needs to be addressed before we take a trip that will be to hard for us. The last stop of the trip I went to get my overnight bag and it was soak and wet all the way through. All my clothes and other things in that bag were affected. I had to throw away two books and the paper box to my perfume. I had to go to a dryer and stand for another 30 minutes while my overnight clothes got dried. The bus driver was like oh well and the tour guide handed me 2.00 in quarters and said the dryer is on the second floor. I will nevergo on another Diamond Tour again. I hope someone reads this and takes into consideration that some of us want to travel even with limitations so bus tour companies are the best for some of us but they need to know their customer before accepting thier money.

Just completed a 9 day bus tour to San Antonio, TX from Sarasota, FL with Diamond Tours. This was a first bus trip for me and it will certainly be my last. I found it to be very disorganized and poorly managed. The quality of restaurants along the way, as well as when we arrived in San Antonio were pretty bad. EX:. Golden Corral. Really! My only decent meal was when I went off on my own to a restaurant of my choice. Hotels were basic at best. Our hotel in San Antonio was so far out of town and off the beaten track with no conveniences available if needed. After 7 days I had had enough of spending 10 hour days on a bus. I booked a flight home and called an Uber......So glad I did . Never again.

Photo of Pam S.

NYC tour. The itinerary is what caught my eye. The trip ended up being awful from uncomfortable bus seats to the guides not following the itinerary at all. We only got to see two things on the itinerary. We were taken to sights NOT on the itinerary and of little to no interest to us. We were not happy about this trip, our first-ever bus tour and most likely our last. We will NEVER book with Diamond Tours or The Art of Travel in St. Louis. Never seen such an unorganized disaster. Never again.

A FIVE STAR DOLPHIN TOUR EXPERIENCE

We had a wonderful time with Carson and Forest. They played fun music and made us laugh. They had snacks and drinks for us. We were able to see birds and dolphins. I highly recommend choosing them for your cruise.

Our family had a great time on the Southern Shores catamaran. We caught a glimpse of 2 dolphins & a jellyfish while cruising.. spotted a crab on the island & found a perfect sand dollar! Forest & Carson were personable, knowledgeable & fun! I 100% recommend them & would take our family on their cruise again. Thank you for a fun time!

We had a wonderful time on our dolphin cruise with Forest and Spencer. The pair made our trip fun and entertaining all while feeling totally safe with my kids on the boat. Both were accommodating young men, we will be back with our next trip.

Went on the dolphin tour both our tour guides did a great job. Fun time had by everyone. Stopped at bird island and saw jellyfish. Loved it!

Must see and well worth the money! Captain and crew was awesome and we will definitely be booking with them again!!!!

Loved this trip! The guides were fun and informative. Saw some beautiful scenery. Definitely recommend.

What an amazing tour. The guides were friendly, funny and engaging. The price was more than reasonable. Please don't pass on the well deserved tip.
