‘The Conjuring’ Walk-Through Horror Experience Is Now Open In M’sia With 20 Zones, KIV For Upcoming Halloween Plans

The Conjuring Universe Tour in Malaysia

With its stomach-churning plot and spine-tingling jump scares, The Conjuring and its prequels and sequels are classic films among horror movie fans. With Halloween coming up soon, you might just be planning to binge-watch all the movies.

But here’s something else you can consider adding to your October plans – a walk-through experience of The Conjuring, Annabelle, and The Nun movies. Called The Conjuring Universe Tour , the pop-up event at The Curve shopping mall in Petaling Jaya opens from now till 18th November 2023 , with 20 zones that recreate the sets from all three movie series.

Walk-through over 20 zones inspired by the horror films

Whether you’ve seen the movies or not, you’ve likely heard or seen Annabelle the doll online before. At The Conjuring Universe Tour in Malaysia, you can meet the chilling doll in the flesh at one of its 20 immersive zones.

The walk-through horror experience is located at GSC’s outlet at The Curve, and will take between 45 minutes to an hour to tour.

Visitors will be able to step into the world of The Conjuring, Annabelle, and The Nun , with the zones bringing to life spooky sets from the films. Be prepared for plenty of film references and jump scares – the “Bloody Bride” is even said to lurk one of the zones.

Just in time for The Nun II’s release in cinemas on 6th September, you’ll get to purchase tickets to tour the pop-up and watch the film. Tickets available are based on your preferred time of visit, in the day between 11am-6pm or evening from 6pm-10pm:

Journey into the unknown & solve challenges

You’re probably curious to know what you can see here.

If you’ve seen The Nun , you’ll be sure to have a hair-raising adventure at the Carta Monastery . Filled with an eerie atmosphere, this set features tunnels that’ll transport you to the pivotal moments from the film series.

Your journey will continue at Perron’s Basement from the movie The Conjuring . Fans will recall how the Perron family experienced the haunts and terrors at this infamous basement – here, you will be greeted with eerie sounds, mysterious shadows, and frightening dark corners just like in the film.

There’s also a zone that recreates Perron’s Farmhouse . Step foot into this area at the pop-up and come face-to-face with a 5-metre tall replica of the sinister tree that features prominently in The Conjuring film.

Another highlight of the tour is the renowned Warren’s Artefact Room zone. It showcases a spine-tingling collection of haunted artefacts – among the most noteworthy ones is the infamous Annabelle doll, which is the highlight of this spooky zone.

At the end of your tour, you can drop by a merchandise store to bring home various film-inspired merch, including The Conjuring Universe Series POP MART figurines and even 40-inch Annabelle collectible figure – if you dare to bring it home.

The Conjuring Universe Tour is here to haunt fans with an immersive walk-through experience

Exciting (or haunting) news for thrill-seekers:  The Conjuring Universe Tour is making its way to  Petaling Jaya ! Fans of the franchise will finally get a chilling taste of what it’s like in the poltergeist-filled universe with this interactive horror walk-through experience.

From  26 Aug to 19 Nov 2023 , horror junkies get to face their worst nightmares, or in this case, their wildest dreams, at The Curve in  Mutiara Damansara .

This walk-through tour features sets recreated from scenes from the horror franchise. Fans will probably recognise the influences from films such as all The Conjuring, Anabelle, and The Nun movies at this interactive guided tour. Visitors stand a chance to take a peek at iconic sets like The Perron’s House, and gawk at the intricacies of The Warren’s Artifact Room. Not only that, visitors should also brace themselves in the event of a special appearance by the Bloody Bride from Anabelle Comes Home.

Ticket prices range from  RM80 to RM110 , depending on when you go. The time slots can be categorised into 2: daytime ( 11am to 6pm ) and evening ( 6pm to 10pm ). For the lowest price ( RM80 ), you should book your slot for weekday afternoons. If you plan to visit after work or during the day on weekends, the tickets will be RM95 . Weekend evenings spent at the immersive tour will cost  RM110 per person.

Those interested in going in a private group of up to 12 people should book an appointment beforehand, and this will be RM1050 . The real question is, do you know anyone who’s willing to experience this spine chilling adventure with you? Going in together may either strengthen your bond or tear apart your friendship, so proceed with caution.

The Conjuring Universe dropped a new horror experience at The Curve, here’s what lies within

Last week, the Vulcan Post team received an invitation to the launch of The Conjuring Universe Tour , an all-new immersive walk-through horror experience. 

Located at The Curve in Mutiara Damansara, the tour features “spine-chilling” set recreations inspired by some of the more iconic scenes from The Conjuring’s film franchise, including its namesake series, Annabelle I and II, and The Nun.

There’s a total of 20 interactive zones (or sets) altogether, and a complete walk-through of the tour takes between 45 minutes to an hour. Visitors will be escorted in groups of about ten to twelve individuals by a tour guide.

As the tour’s Southeast Asian debut , we were curious to see what experiences were produced by Warner Bros. Discovery Global Themed Entertainment, Sunny SideUp, and Incubase Studio, in partnership with AM PM (HK) and Ace Media Network.

So with much excitement, my colleague Claudia and I sucked up our fears and went to experience the horror for ourselves.

Warning: Minor spoilers on the tour experience ahead.

After keeping our bags and personal belongings in the provided lockers, we joined our group of 10 other media personnels in what I assumed to be the waiting area. 

There, you’ll find framed posters of all the films being referenced for the tour. Next to each poster is a “report” briefly explaining the case of each haunting. So if you’re not entirely familiar with The Conjuring franchise, it might help to get some background details this way.

But this isn’t really necessary as you’re still able to enjoy the experience without the contextual information. 

”Pack your belongings. Stay close together. I hope you can finish what I couldn’t.” 

That’s how we were welcomed with a short clip by Sean, a “paranormal expert”, when we were guided to a classroom before the tour began. The classroom featured snippets of the films along with a short introduction to The Conjuring universe.

Our tour guide of the day then briefed us on the rules (basically, don’t touch any of the props and remember to turn off your camera’s flash) and elected a “last man” to watch over the group.

For context, the chosen “last man” is also a participant, but their role is to act as the last person out of the group to leave the set. This means that they will be in charge of ensuring that everyone on the tour stays together.

So if you’re worried about being accidentally left behind, this might soothe your nerves.

Once that was established, all 12 of us walked straight into the gloomy graveyard of the Abbey of St. Carta from The Nun. 

Tombstones were erected everywhere and the mist made it very hard to see ahead. Not having the best eyesight didn’t help, but the light illuminating from the tour guide’s vintage oil lamp served as a good lead.

We were quickly ushered into another room, where the group was led down a corridor with large human-sized crucifixes on both sides that served as “to-be” headstones. All the while, creepy soundtracks would play in the background, further cultivating the horror-like atmosphere. 

Then we reached what I deemed to be the second creepiest set in the whole tour—the room with the “headless” nuns. 

Okay, saying they’re headless wouldn’t be accurate, but all of them were wearing a sack bag over their heads.

This prompted the fear of the unknown and an anticipation that something more would come. In our experience, both Claudia and I were on the edge throughout the entirety of this room just waiting for an actual person to pop up from their “headless nun” costume.

Hearing our other group members shuffling about to get as quickly away from the room as possible (without running) made the experience slightly less terrifying.

That said, when we walked into another room that was filled with five bodies hanging upside down from the ceiling, I was weirdly relieved. 

The tour guide explained that this set depicted The Nun’s ending, where all the nuns sacrificed themselves to stop the demon named Valak from possessing them.

Playing with dolls is oh so much fun … until they’re possessed

Moving into the next room was the beginning of the Annabelle series, where we were ushered into the Mullins Toy Company. If you’re not familiar with the franchise, this is where the possessed doll was manufactured by a doll maker and his wife.

Shortly after, a corridor filled with papers led us to a tiny room where the Annabelle doll sat in a chair. Nothing really happened at first, but then the lights began flickering and she disappeared from view. 

To find her, we walked into Bee’s bedroom, where a tea party was set out and an old hand puppet show was playing.

I was distracted halfway when I saw a white bed sheet floating in the corner of my eye. Without thinking much, I tilted my head slightly only to find it pooled as if the floating was a figment of my imagination.

So you can imagine my fright when I turned around to find Annabelle in all her monstrous glory standing by the window, glaring at everyone.

Noticing that Claudia and much of the others had moved on, I scrammed as the room began feeling a little too bare. And what do you know, we walked straight into Ed and Lorraine Warren’s Artifact Room. 

Seeing it in person felt quite surreal, having followed The Conjuring movies myself since I was a teenager. But I did notice that the layout wasn’t really how I remembered it being in the films, so that took away some of the wow factor for me.

We carried on past the Ferryman’s Tomb and walked into a mirror maze, where the tour guide insisted we stick together. Or else the Bloody Bride would be on our heels to haunt us. In this “scene” particularly, it paid to stick with Sean-the-paranormal-expert’s advice and stay together.

Throughout the maze, I remember wondering if the tour guides (or the rest of The Conjuring Universe Tour team) had left hidden directions in this set, just in case they accidentally wound up lost.

The Bloody Bride appeared once or twice in the mirrors to scare us, before we ultimately found the exit and wound up in Judy Warren’s Room. There, a storm brewed, windows shattered, and one of our group members had her biggest fright of the night.

In such cases, it was especially helpful to have the tour guide around. Not just to provide more background information on the recreated film sets we were walking into, but to also soothe participants’ nerves when it got too overwhelming.

To escape Annabelle’s wrath, we all left quickly only to end up at the famed tree outside, The Perron’s House, where the ghostly figure of a witch hanged herself.

Did it live up to our expectations?

Hell yes (pun intended).

The rest of the tour, from set room 15 to set room 20, will have to be discovered on your own as these are details we’ve been asked not to disclose. So if this sounds like an interesting experience to you so far, then you might want to consider going through it yourself.

In the beginning, we overheard one of the staff members saying it’s more of a way for fans to get up close and personal with the film sets.

Having experienced it for ourselves, Claudia and I both agreed that it did its job, and was quite immersive. Even though we were both a little clueless about the films, we found that our guide did well at guiding the tour and sticking to his character.

The audio and visual elements also worked well together to create a more immersive experience, and the “outdoor” scenes were quite cool. Some sets also had more interactive elements to them, but we won’t spoil the fun by giving examples.

However, we did find that the music was too loud during some parts of the tour, especially towards the end. And the tour guide’s microphone was not the clearest, making it a little harder to understand him sometimes.

But overall, it was an exciting experience that general horror enthusiasts could enjoy. Just don’t forget to wear comfortable shoes because you’ll be walking a lot.

Calling all paranormal fans! The Southeast Asia debut of The Conjuring Universe Tour has opened its doors at The Curve in Mutiara Damansara, Petaling Jaya Malaysia. The immersive walk-through horror experience is inspired by iconic scenes from New Line Cinema’s The Conjuring Universe and will operate daily for a limited time up till 19 November. The tour is more than just a haunted house experience, spanning over 15,000 square feet across 20 bone-chilling zones.

10 Years of The Conjuring Universe

The Conjuring Universe began in 2013 with a paranormal investigation of a haunted house and turned into a 10-year-long franchise of films that includes evil dolls and demonic nuns, with more to come. It is now the highest-grossing horror franchise of all time with over US$2 billion at the worldwide box office. The Conjuring Universe comprises The Conjuring (2013), The Conjuring 2 (2016), The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It (2021), Annabelle (2014), Annabelle: Creation (2016), Annabelle Comes Home (2019), The Nun (2018), and latest entry, The Nun II , is set for release on 7 September 2023.

Scenes & Sets to Expect During the Tour

The tour covers 20 areas as seen in the film franchise and offers fans an interactive guided journey filled with spine-chilling set recreations and experiential iconic moments. Guests will get to visit The Carta Monastery ( The Nun ), The Workshop where the possessed doll Annabelle was crafted ( Annabelle: Creation ), and the iconic Warren’s Artifact room, where cursed objects and relics are stored. One of our favourites was definitely the iconic tree as seen in the movie poster for The Conjuring , where Bathsheba hung herself from a noose hanging from the tree branch. You can even see the shadow of her dangling corpse being cast on the floor.

To top it all off, the tour ends with a store choke full of exclusive merchandise where visitors can shop for collectibles such as the POP MART Warner Bros. The Conjuring Universe Series figurines based on 13 different characters from across the franchise. There is even a life-size 40-inch Annabelle doll going for RM2,350 (S$685), alongside t-shirts, tote bags, keychains, umbrellas and more. We worry for your wallets.

Ticket Prices & Opening Hours

The tour is opening daily from 11am to 10pm, and runs from now till 19 November 2023 . Tickets start at RM80 (S$23) on weekdays from 11am to 6pm, and can go up to RM110 (S$32) on weekends from 6pm to 10pm. There is also a POP MART Blind Box Bundle that goes for RM170 (S$50) which comes with one Flexi Tour Ticket and one POP MART The Conjuring Universe Tour blind box figurine. Private group tickets of up to 12 pax per group are available too and is priced at RM1,050 (S$305).

1 Aug - Get ready to embark on a terrifying adventure with "The Conjuring Universe Tour", an all-new immersive walk-through horror experience featuring spine-chilling set recreations inspired by iconic scenes from New Line Cinema's massively popular horror franchise, including "The Conjuring" films, the "Annabelle" films and "The Nun". Making its Southeast Asia debut this August, The Conjuring Universe Tour is creeping into The Curve in Mutiara Damansara, Petaling Jaya, Malaysia beginning 26 August through 19 November.

"The Conjuring Universe Tour" invites fans and curious thrill-seekers alike to an immersive guided tour to experience the signature moments from The Conjuring Universe, the highest-grossing horror franchise of all time.

With 20 areas offering fans an interactive journey full of creepy surprises, guests can explore recreated sets including The Carta Monastery from "The Nun" and The Warren's Artifact Room from "The Conjuring" films and "Annabelle Comes Home". The journey continues with a replica of the iconic five-meter-tall tree, featured in the infamous movie poster for "The Conjuring". An exciting line-up of exclusive merchandise released for this experience will also be available at the retail shop. "We are proud to partner with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Themed Entertainment for this brand new and unique interactive experience that celebrates some of the most iconic horror films of all time. An all-new immersive walk-through horror experience inspired by iconic scenes from New Line’s famous The Conjuring movies, The Conjuring Universe Tour will be coming to Petaling Jaya, Malaysia this month!

The event will be held at The Curve, Mutiara Damansara , starting 26 August to 19 November 2023, from 11am to 11pm daily. The tour takes around an hour and will be conducted in English.

The tour includes several fun features, which include:

• Exploring iconic scenes from The Conjuring films, Annabelle films, and The Nun in 20 spine-chilling areas.
• Interacting with creepy surprises as you visit sets like The Carta Monastery and The Warren’s Artifact Room.

This is the actual home of the Perron Family hauntings. The house was made famous by the Ed and Lorraine Warren case files that became the foundation of the 2013 box office smash hit, The Conjuring. We were haunted then, and we are haunted still. The Conjuring House offers authentic opportunities for guests to learn about and experience paranormal phenomena. I came all the way from Australia to take part in two events at the farm, and I was not disappointed. I did a day tour with Maddie and the GHO-MAD paranormal investigation event two days later.
