5SOS Announces ‘The 5 Seconds Of Summer Show’ World Tour

5 Seconds of Summer are looking to take over the world once more with the announcement that they’ll be taking The 5 Seconds of Summer Show worldwide in the form of a 42-date world tour.

Kicking things off on the North American side in Uncasville, CT, at the Mohegan Sun Arena on August 10, the pop-rock group will wrap up their tour with appearances at the When We Were Young Festival while in between making stops throughout Europe and the UK.

Tickets for The 5 Seconds of Summer Show will go onsale through a presale on Tuesday, April 11, with the general onsale for the North America and Europe dates starting Friday, April 14 at 10 AM local time. For South American fans, stay tuned for more information.

Multi-platinum-selling pop-rock band,  5 Seconds of Summer , will release their live album  The Feeling of Falling Upwards – Live from The Royal Albert Hall  digitally on  April 14 . Physical formats of the album are up for pre-order  NOW  and will be available on  July 14 .

The band is also excited to announce their  2023 World Tour –  The 5 Seconds of Summer Show –   which includes dates in South America, UK, Europe and North America with an appearance at the  When We Were Young  festival in Las Vegas. The tracks are taken from the band’s 2022 one-of-a-kind performance  “The Feeling of Falling Upwards”  at the world-famous Royal Albert Hall in London, a venue the band busked outside of when they moved to the UK to write for their very first album 10 years ago. The performance included reimagined versions of songs from their 11-year catalog including brand-new songs from their critically acclaimed fifth studio album  5SOS5 , accompanied by a 12-piece string orchestra and a 12-member gospel choir.

“’The Feeling of Falling Upwards’ is simply supposed to describe to you the feeling that we have experienced together, the feeling of taking a leap of faith on such a fickle thing like music,”  expressed vocalist and drummer Ashton Irwin on stage at Royal Albert Hall,  “And sharing this experience together year after year, season after season of our lives.”

5sos rocks the lone star state.

5SOS, an abbreviation for 5 Seconds of Summer , is a pop rock band hailing from Australia. They came together in late 2011 and are composed of Luke Hemmings, who serves as the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist, Michael Clifford as the lead guitarist, Calum Hood on bass, and Ashton Irwin as the drummer.

The 5 Seconds of Summer Show at Toyota Music Factory on Sunday night was fantastic, and a jam-packed pit proved how truly dedicated 5SOS fans really are. One young woman along the barricade had a number one written on the top of her hand in sharpie ink. In casually asking how she got so lucky as to be the first person in line, she explained she’d arrived at the venue at noon on Saturday and slept in her car overnight… in the intense triple digit Dallas temps! The level of fandom commitment to 5SOS is unmatched, and stems from their twelve plus year stint in the pop rock scene. Fans having grown up alongside 5SOS, with the band’s music accompanying them through various stages of their lives and into early adulthood. The 5SOS fan community is supportive and inclusive, which makes fans feel like they belong to a tight-knit group and was vividly evident in the comradery throughout the crowd. 

Memorable moments included a colorful confetti cannon during the second chorus of 2011 , and a unique choose-your-own-adventure surprise song section halfway through the show, with a massive inflatable dice being thrown into the pit, each side labeled with a different song from the various 5SOS eras. Whichever side landed back on the stage was the song the band would play that night. 

5SOS will complete the remaining two dates of their US tour before embarking all across Europe this fall, and returning to the states in Las Vegas in October for When We Were Young fest.

Tickets for The 5 Seconds of Summer Show go on sale to the general public on April 14 at 10 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster , with a presale for Citi cardmembers beginning a few days earlier on April 11.

The same day tickets go on sale, 5 Seconds of Summer are also unveiling The Feeling of Falling Upwards — Live from The Royal Albert Hall . The live album was recorded during the band’s 2022 one-night-only performance at the iconic U.K. venue, and includes live versions of everything from “Youngblood” and “Teeth” to “Complete Mess,” “Take My Hand” and “Me Myself & I” accompanied by a 12-member gospel choir and 12-piece string orchestra.

While it hits streaming services on April 14, The Feeling of Falling Upwards will also receive a physical release a few months later on July 14.

5 Seconds of Summer (5SOS) is set to embark on a world tour.

On Thursday (April 6), the band announced dates for their 2023 summer world tour, The 5 Seconds of Summer Show, which crosses three continents. The tour kicks off on August 10 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut, with stops in Boston, New York City, Chicago, Nashville, Atlanta, Dallas, Toronto, and other major North American cities before heading across the pond to Europe and the U.K. The international leg begins on September 23 in Lisbon, Portugal, followed by shows in Madrid, Milan, London, Paris and more.

The tour returns to the U.S. and concludes with a two-night stay at the When We Were Young Festival in Las Vegas on October 21 and 22. The band is expected to perform in the South American countries of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Peru in July and August, for yet-to-be-announced dates.

“Can’t wait to spend time on tour with all you beautiful people,” 5SOS shares on Instagram . “South America dates will be updated very soon, more details to come. Love from us, always #The5SOSShow.” Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday (April 14) at 10 a.m. local time.

The “Youngblood” singers will also release the live album, The Feeling of Falling Upwards – Live from The Royal Albert Hall , on April 14. On September 22, 2022, the night before their latest album 5SOS5 was released, the band performed at Royal Albert Hall in London where they reimagined songs from their catalog, in addition to performing songs off the new album alongside an orchestra and gospel choir.

The album contains a wide repertoire from the last 10 years of them as a band. “We started out as a live band. Our live performances are the best representation of what we had to offer,” bassist Calum Hood tells Billboard of 5SOS’ decision to release their Royal Albert Hall concert as a live album.

Guitarist Michael Clifford agreed, adding, “We came off stage and we were like, that was probably one of the best shows we’ve ever played in our whole lives. Immortalizing it with this album is going to be special, not only for us but also the people who weren’t there.”

On what song looking forward to performing to, Michael told Wonderland, “I am gonna throw this out there. TikTok is a bit of a weird place. For some reason, “She Looks So Perfect” continues to go viral – I have no idea why. Obviously we will always play “She Looks So Perfect”, but you know what? Another one that continues to pop up on TikTok that we don’t play is “She’s Kinda Hot”. Maybe we do a TikTok moment.” Luke Hemmings chimed in. “I am excited to play “Ghost of You”, but it’s not that old.”

5 Seconds of Summer is of course stoked to continue playing live shows. Ashton Irwin told Wonderland, “It is absolutely diverse in every sense and the band has really pushed to attain a grounded identity in pop and rock. It has really progressed in both lanes. The pop songwriting has been worked on and we love melodic songwriting, hooks and unique concepts. But on the other hand, the rock side of the band has improved in terms of the recording itself, and I have been more into the musicianship. Obviously, that comes with recording the record internally; the band are actually prog rockers at heart.”

The 5 Seconds of Summer Show , the tenth anniversary celebration that the pop-rock band hosted at the close of 2021, was part career-spanning concert film and part Saturday Night Live skit poking fun at their decade-long evolution. It featured a recreation of the video for one of their earliest releases — 2012’s “Gotta Get Out” — alongside their biggest hits, like “Youngblood” and “She Looks So Perfect,” and a funeral for their faded black skinny jeans. But the one thing that has never changed about 5SOS is their commitment to delivering an unrelenting live show. And this summer, they’re bringing The 5 Seconds of Summer Show on the road.

General sale for the 20-date tour begins Friday, April 14 at 10 a.m. local time via the official 5SOS website .

Alongside the tour announcement , the band has unveiled plans to release The Feeling of Falling Upwards – Live from The Royal Albert Hall on April 14. The live album was recorded alongside a 12-piece string orchestra and a 12-member gospel choir during a special one-night-only concert last year. The performance followed the release of the band’s fifth studio album in twice as many years, 5SOS5 . The band loaded up the setlist for the night with musical indicators of where they are, where they’ve been, and where they’re heading.
