Rod Stewart setlist

With a career that spans seven decades and a few bands — remember the Jeff Beck Group and The Faces? — Stewart clearly has his pick of the litter when it comes to selecting songs he’ll perform at concerts.

What has he been opening with lately? Which songs make up his encore? Does he play covers?

Great questions.

You can find a complete archive of all of Stewart’s set lists from 1975 all the way to today  here .

Rod Stewart new music

In 2021, the tireless Stewart released not one but two records, as well as a  Greatest Hits album .

The first offering,  “Cupid,”  is 16 songs of romance. Featuring choice Cat Stevens and Van Morrison covers as well as a few originals, it’s a perfect accompaniment to any Valentine’s Day.

Album two — the 31st over the course of his storied career — is the more traditional pop record  “The Tears of Hercules.”   AllMusic  called the 12 tracks “alternately baffling, absurd, sweet, and endearing.”

Classic rockers on tour in 2023

Here are just five of our favorites you won’t want to miss when they come to a city near you next year.

•  Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band

• The Eagles

• Aerosmith

•  Doobie Brothers

•  Billy Joel

I paid 132 euro each for the best view. BIG MISTAKE.

No seats and the the area was overcrowded. Stewards were useless. Lots of people without Front Stage Passes came into the area which meant we had a very poor view.

Police refused us access to disabled parking even though we showed them the badge so we had to park at the Miramar and get a taxi. When we were drooped off we were next to the disabled parking where there were still spaces available. No doubt being saved for friends of the police.

We could not see the support act as they were not on the stage but performed at the far side of the venue. We could not leave our position or we would have had no view at all for the main show.

The main show was due to start at 10pm but started at 10.25. We were told by Rod Stewart he would play for 2 hours. The show ended at 12.05 !

Our friends who paid 85 euros for seats fared little better being surrounded by noisy drunks who the stewards refused to deal with.

When you promote an artist who is over 70 you should realise his fans are the same age and the facilities were woeful. Standing for over 4 hours is unacceptable.

Took my daughter for her birthday absolutely amazing show we danced all night. Well worth the aches this morning. Rod sang all his old ones and a few new ones and really got the crowd singing along.

I would definitely recommend to go see him before he stops touring although I don’t think he will. The only bad point which will have nothing to do with rod himself was that leaving the carpark was horrendous. Not very carefully thought out at all badly organised. It took us an hr and 40 minutes just to get a few yards out of the car park and on to the road. Great night though wouldn’t have missed it for the world.

This was amazing! A true honour to see Rod in full flight. It was the first night of a 5 month tour and there were a few minor technical glitches but Rod, as the charismatic entertainer he is managed to make a joke about them and and make the audience feel like we were all participating in the show together. He made relatively large stadium feel like a small intimate gig. At 74 I dare say he doesn't have the physical stamina of a Bruce Springsteen but it balances this out by giving plenty of time for solos and individual performances to his incredible band. This was a well crafted show that had the entire audience on their feet dancing by the end. Will definitely see him again if I get the opportunity!

Sir Rod Stewart has addressed a rift between himself and his wife Penny Lancaster .

The rocker took to social media to "put the record straight", after claims that he and Penny were arguing with one another over the future of their marriage. It follows claims there had been a "disagreement" over where the couple should live. However, Sir Rod was adamant that they were happily splitting their time between the United Kingdom and their properties abroad.

In a statement shared with his 1.4 million followers on Instagram , Sir Rod said: "We wanted to put the record straight. There is no rift between Penny and I and no disagreement over where we should reside, in fact, it's the opposite. We moved permanently back to our beloved Britain a year ago but are fortunate to also have homes in different countries, which we love to visit."

He added: "Originally we did think it made sense to sell our house in LA, but having spent a wonderful time there this summer with family and friends during my Vegas residency we realised it makes sense to keep our house there. Two of my eldest children still live in Celtic House (The LA residence). Penny and I could not be more in love with each other after 27 glorious years. Please trust me on this... There's no disharmony in our marriage."

Sir Rod insisted that he and Penny are more in love than ever

He signed off with: "Rod 'a very lucky man' Stewart." It comes after sources previously claimed that Rod was refusing to leave his home in Los Angeles, leaving his wife Penny "furious". It was reported that the 79-year-old musician had rejected two offers on their nine-bed property in the City of Angels.

A source previously told the MailOnline: "Rod loves his life in LA and he flies back and forth to Vegas for his gigs. He gets to spend quality time with his grandchildren and hosts a banquet dinner almost every Sunday night at home for a crowd of his best friends." The house sale woes come after Sir Rod slammed ill-health rumours, declaring he's "not dying".

The rock legend had to pull the plug on three gigs in Vegas, Lake Tahoe, and Lincoln, California, due to strep throat and Covid. The singer initially alarmed his followers by saying his "days were numbered" as he took time off to recuperate. He disclosed his health woes just before what would have been his 200th show in Sin City, expressing his disappointment: "Most people can work with strep throat but obviously not me. I'm absolutely gutted. I've been looking forward to this concert for so long.

"My deepest regrets for any inconvenience this has caused. Thankfully we'll now be returning in 2025 and I hope to see you all there." Yet, after stirring up worry among his fanbase with his candid admission, Rod has since clarified his comments to The Sun, insisting they were taken the wrong way: "When I said 'My days are numbered,' it was purely in jest. Aren't everybody's days numbered? I am in embarrassingly wonderful health and enjoying life to the full. I am not dying as far as I know."

Inside Rod Stewart and Penny Lancaster's 25-year love affair as the pair insist 'no rift'

will rod stewart tour in 2023

After over 25 years together, Rod Stewart and Penny Lancaster’s love is tried and true blue. But no couple is immune to the storms that buffet all relationships, and right now Rod and Penny appear to be navigating some rough conditions.

According to the Daily Mail, the couple have reached a “ stalemate ” over their split living conditions. Stewart is loving life in Los Angeles, jetting across to Las Vegas for his Caesars Palace residency (which he just extended into 2025 ) and hosting banquets for his best mates at his custom-built Beverley Hills mansion each weekend.

Meanwhile, Lancaster wants to properly embrace UK living and relocate full-time to the couple’s Grade II-listed countryside mansion in Essex, while working in her role as a special constable for the City of London police.

The Mail describes Stewart’s Los Angeles property as a “gilded cage” for Lancaster. It has been up for sale since December 2023, with Stewart initially set on relocating to London with Lancaster, but the singer has since turned down offers on the property, currently listed at $80m.

However, Stewart has since insisted that there is “no rift” between the two of them and has clarified what is really going on with their housing situation.

So, trouble in paradise? Or rather — in between paradises? Or is it all much ado about nothing? Here, we look back on Rod Stewart and Penny Lancaster’s love story, as well as all recent developments.

A young photographer meets an established rock star

will rod stewart tour in 2023

In January 1999, a then-27-year-old Penny Lancaster met Rod Stewart, then 53, while at a party with a friend at the Dorchester Hotel. Her pal had dared Lancaster to ask for Stewart’s autograph. Lancaster revealed that she was a photography student at Barking College in Essex, and via this conversation she managed to score a job as Stewart’s tour photographer.

“When we first met, I got her phone number — I had just broken up,” Rod said on an episode of Loose Women, where Penny works as a host, in 2015. “I gave it to the bass player... and he kept it for six months!” he added, explaining that his bandmate didn’t reckon he was ready to date again. At this point, Stewart was already a father of six children, which he shared with four women.

Months later, the Maggie May singer managed to track down Lancaster’s number and called to ask if he could invite her out to dinner (and finally see the pictures she had taken on tour).

Lancaster arrived at dinner in leather trousers and Stewart was “struck by her fresh face and girlish demeanour.” Trouble is, she was in a relationship with someone else who she’d been with for ten years — and they were engaged. “She was always completely open with me about that. Recently, she said, things hadn’t been going too well, but she was torn about letting this person go,” Stewart writes in his autobiography.

Then, while visiting Stewart’s house one day and looking at paintings in his bedroom, he asked Lancaster to lie on her back on the bed. He leant over and kissed her, an “upside down” kiss that he says Lancaster calls “the most romantic and seductive meeting of lips” she’s ever known.

The pair started dating and Lancaster left her other partner even though she feared dating Stewart - who already had six kids - might mean she never got to have children of her own. But that didn’t last too long, because...

Rod Stewart writes in his autobiography that the memory of 9/11 changed his view on expanding his family. “And then came September 11, 2004, the third anniversary of the attacks on the World Trade Center,” he says. “We were sitting by a lake on one of those bright, clear, English autumn afternoons, talking about the families destroyed on that day and the children left behind. After a while, I said: ‘Let’s make a baby.’ And I knew I meant it.”

Within a year they would welcome their first child, Alastair Stewart.

Rod Stewart proposes in Paris - after getting permission from Penny’s dad

Stewart proposed to a newly pregnant Lancaster in March 2005, but he had to do one thing first. “In March 2005, when Penny was nearing her 33rd birthday, I took her to Paris for the day with her mum and dad,” Stewart writes in his autobiography. “As we were crossing the Tarmac to the plane, I hung back slightly with Penny’s dad, and above the whine of the engine, leaned into his ear and said: ‘Do I have your permission to ask your daughter to marry me?’ Graham’s a tough man, but his legs almost went from under him. I had to hold him up for a moment. ‘Yes!’ he said. ‘Yes, you do!’”

Stewart proposed to Lancaster later that day, in the Jules Verne restaurant on the second platform of the Eiffel Tower. “Penny had a minute of disbelief,” Stewart remembered of the moment. “Her hands went to her face and her eyes welled. Eventually, I said: ‘Please say something Penny, because my knee is killing me.’” Rod also writes that this night was the night they conceived Alastair.

As for Penny’s side: “I was stunned, threw my arms around him and burst into tears,” Lancaster told the Standard at the time. “I opened the box and he had bought me the most amazing Princess cut diamond engagement ring — classic and striking.”

A wedding on the Italian Riviera

A little over two years later, Lancaster and Stewart said ‘I do’ in a chapel strewn with white roses in the town of Santa Margherita, on the Italian Riviera. Penny wore a strapless dress by Spanish designer Manuel Mota with an embellished bodice and a delicate up-do, while Rod went full pointed collar and ivory waistcoat in his black and white suit.

The couple would later go on to renew their vows in 2017, in a ceremony with 100 friends and family members at their Essex home. The couple exchanged vows underneath a beech tree in the garden, before enjoying a three-course meal in a marquee.

Rod Stewart and Penny Lancaster welcomed their second son, Aiden, in 2011, after a brief struggle with conception. “Aiden was a little while in the making,” Stewart writes in his memoir. “We tried for two years before specialists discovered that Penny had high levels of mercury in her body and recommended that we try in vitro fertilisation.

“We had three rounds of IVF in all, which is physically very punishing for the woman and heartbreaking when it doesn’t work. Still, we kept on going. I was on tour in Moscow in the summer of 2010 when Penny phoned to say she was finally pregnant, and we both wept for joy.”

Twenty years and two very different lives across two continents

Lancaster and Stewart are still going strong today, but they have been rocked by recent rumours of relationship turbulence as the pair struggle to come to a decision over where they should live. Lancaster is a special constable for the City of London Police and Loose Women panellist, which ties her to London. Moreover, she is a countryside girl at heart, and wants Stewart to commit to living in their Grade II-listed countryside mansion in Essex full time.

Meanwhile, Stewart is perfectly happy living in his Los Angeles mansion while he extends his Las Vegas residency for another year, with his final show due for June 2025. “He gets to spend quality time with his grandchildren and hosts a banquet dinner almost every Sunday night at home for a crowd of his best friends,” a source told The Daily Mail of Stewart’s life in LA.

“Penny has no plans to return to LA, which she’s not a fan of, while Rod has no plans to move back right now,” the source continued. “They’re at a stalemate and Penny is angry that Rod’s gone back on his word. It’s about saving their marriage right now.”

However, Rod Stewart put his foot down yesterday, firmly dispelling any and all rumours of a “rift” between he and Penny. “There is absolutely no rift between Penny and I, and no disagreement on where we should reside, in fact it’s the opposite,” he said on Instagram.

“We moved permanently back to our beloved Britain a year ago but are fortunate to also have homes in different countries, which we love to visit.

“Originally we did think it made sense to sell our house in LA, but having spent a wonderful time there this summer with family and friends during my Vegas residency we realised that it makes sense to keep our house there.”

“Penny and I could not be more in love with each other after 27 glorious years. Please trust me on this... there’s no disharmony in our marriage.” So for all Rod and Penny fans out there, fear not, they’re strong enough to weather a little long distance turbulence.

Sir Rod Stewart and his wife Penny Lancaster have been pictured looking happier than ever during a date night. The pair put on a romantic display as they enjoyed an evening out at The Ritz London.

Beaming and looking in high spirits, singer Rod, 79, and Loose Women star Penny, who have been married since 2007, cuddled up to each other as they left the swanky hotel, with Rod nuzzling into his wife. Penny, 53, looked incredible in a slinky red dress with a thigh high split, which she teamed with strappy silver heels and a clutch bag. The former model wore her blonde hair down and accessorised with silver earrings and bracelets.

Meanwhile, Rod looked dapper for the night out in a black shirt and trousers with a black and white blazer and shoes in the same colourway.

Their loved-up display comes after Rod denied reports of a “rift” between him and Penny , saying they could “not be more in love with each other”. He shared a statement on social media to “put the record straight”.

He said claims there was tension between the couple about where they should reside are the “opposite” as they have decided to keep their UK base and Los Angeles home.

In the post, he wrote: “We wanted to put the record straight. There is absolutely no rift between Penny and I and no disagreement over where we should reside, in fact it’s the opposite.

The pair held hands during their date night

We moved permanently back to our beloved Britain a year ago but are fortunate to also have homes in different countries, which we love to visit.

“Originally we did think it made sense to sell our house in LA, but having spent a wonderful time there this summer with family and friends during my Vegas residency we realised that it makes sense to keep our house there.”

He also noted that two of his eldest children still live in his Los Angeles residence, named Celtic House.

The performer added: “Penny and I could not be more in love with each other after 27 glorious years. Please trust me on this… there’s no disharmony in our marriage.” He signed the statement off by writing “Rod ‘a very lucky man’ Stewart”.

The pair were all smiles after singer Rod furiously denied a marriage 'rift'

His statement came after it was reported that Rod was adamant about staying put in his Los Angeles home, much to the annoyance of Penny and that the rock icon had turned down two bids for their lavish nine-bedroom LA home.

Earlier this month, Rod had to cancel his 200th residency celebration show in Las Vegas earlier due to a bout of the bacterial infection strep throat. Later in the week, he had to postpone more US shows after contracting a “summer strain of Covid-19”.

The shows are part of the singer’s North American tour, with dates scheduled for September and October before he moves to Europe for a performance in Spain on December 15 and one in Denmark on December 18.

Sir Rod is scheduled to return to the US for two dates in February before he closes out his residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas with a string of performances between March and June.

Rod Stewart is setting the record straight on his marriage with Penny Lancaster .

After multiple outlets published stories containing claims of turmoil in the couple’s marriage, the 79-year-old rocker shared a statement shutting down the “erroneous articles.”

“We wanted to put the record straight,” Stewart wrote via Instagram on Thursday, Aug. 29.

“There is absolutely no rift between Penny and I and no disagreement over where we should reside, in fact it's the opposite,” he continued, before addressing a specific claim that the longtime couple — who wed in June 2007 — is fighting about whether they should make a permanent move from Los Angeles to the United Kingdom.

“The bass player in my band, Carmine, said, 'Listen, you've just come out of a long nine-year marriage. You're not ready yet.’ I nearly strangled him!” he continued with a laugh. “Six months later, he gave me her phone number and she came over.”

Brandt Snedeker brings legacy of compassion, emotion to Payne Stewart Award

10 Min Read

Payne Stewart Award

Change Text Size

There will be tears shed. That’s a given.

“I was like, oh gosh, well, maybe we'll just get out the tears now,” Snedeker’s wife Mandy says. “But that is part of who he is and why he's so lovely.”

Snedeker’s long-time friend Davis Love III, who will be a part of Tuesday’s ceremony on the Golf Channel, puts him among the top three criers in golf – right behind Steve Stricker and Bubba Watson on the list.

“It’s going to be bad,” Love says with a chuckle. “But you know what? He’s got a written speech, so he’s got a chance. And a teleprompter, hopefully.”

Snedeker takes the kidding in good humor, though.

“I’m sure I’ll cry during the speech at some point,” he says. “But that means you care. So, I’m okay with it.”

And make no mistake. The Payne Stewart Award, which is given annually to a golfer who epitomizes the late pro’s character, sportsmanship and commitment to charitable giving, means the world to Snedeker. So, what if he cries on national television?

Stewart was one of Snedeker’s “guys” when he was a kid, along with Tom Watson and everyone’s favorite, Arnold Palmer. The ties to the colorful pro, who died in a plane crash when Snedeker was 19 years old, were strong. Snedeker’s parents were from Stewart’s hometown of Springfield, Missouri. His grandmother knew Stewart’s father and was “obsessed,” Snedeker says, smiling, with the three-time major champion. And while she didn’t play herself, she’s the one who urged her grandson to take up the game.

“I loved the way he interacted with the crowd,” Snedeker says. “I loved his personality. You could see it come through on the golf course. I loved the competitor. … One-on-one, he was pretty hard to beat and just the way he went about it, I love that fact that you always knew where he was. You always knew what he was doing. He stuck out.”

When Snedeker made it to the TOUR Championship as a PGA TOUR rookie in 2007, he attended the dinner where Hal Sutton accepted the Payne Stewart Award. And he’s been in the audience every other year that he’s advanced to the final FedExCup Playoffs event at East Lake Golf Club.

Now he is part of Stewart’s legacy, as well.

“It's so cool to, even though I never got to meet him, feel like I've kind of accomplished something pretty cool to be close to him.” Snedeker says.

“He’s always said his favorite golfer and the one he admired the most … was Payne Stewart,” says Mandy Snedeker, who started dating her future husband when she was a senior and he was a junior at Vanderbilt. “So, it's cool how it comes full circle.”

Brandt Snedeker surprised with PGA TOUR's Payne Stewart Award

Love, who has the same agent as Snedeker, is a Payne Stewart Award winner, too. The two have shared many meals and played countless practice rounds together. Snedeker says Love, who captained Snedeker in two Ryder Cups, has been a “huge” influence in his life, not just in the way he played the game but the way he conducted himself.

“I really realized how important their relationship was when Brant played for him on the Ryder Cup team, and they had the big loss on the last day, and then the chance to redeem themselves back in 2016 when (Davis) was the captain again, and he got picked again for the team,” Mandy Snedeker says.

“It was like he was so determined and focused to do it, not just obviously for your teammates or your country, but he kept talking about how important he wanted to do it for Davis,” she continued. “Davis was always kind of there for him, even when he was really young. Now that you're on the flip side, you see how important that is and what a difference it makes.”

Love says events like Tuesday night are important to see the “tradition and history, legacy, continuity get handed down from generation to generation.” And the World Golf Hall of Famer adds that if a TOUR sponsor like Southern Company wanted to create the ideal player, he knows the perfect prototype.

“You want them to be an exciting player and you want them to have a special skill that makes them stand out,” Love says. “You also want them to be a fan favorite, and you want them to be smiling when they're playing good and emotional when they play bad. And you want them to be great in pro-ams, and you want them to give back to charity and you want them to be great in interviews.

“You just described Brandt Snedeker. You don't want a boring guy that just makes a lot of birdies and is not entertaining. You want Brandt -- great with sponsors, great in the boardroom and wants to give back to the TOUR as a player rep and all the things that Brandt does.

“Brandt gets it. And he has always gotten it from a young age. So, it's going to be emotional. … I'm happy for him. It's well deserved.”

Brandt Snedeker on being Payne Stewart Award Recipient

In 2012, Snedeker had another memorable week at East Lake when he beat Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods to win The TOUR Championship and the FedExCup. The $10 million bonus that came with the FedExCup helped give the nine-time PGA TOUR champ and his wife the freedom to start a foundation that had long been on their radar screen.

“We just thought it was the right thing to do,” Snedeker says.

“We're just so blessed to have the platform that we do, and just to get the word out, it's easy and it really wasn't ever up for debate,” Mandy Snedeker agrees. “It was just more of the timing, when the timing was right.”

Snedeker had long been an interested observer at charity outings, picking the brains of friends like Love, Zack Johnson and David Toms to see how they ran their foundations. He and his wife started small, hoping to help where they saw a need, but their foundation has been so successful that it can now sustain charitable giving of between $200,000-300,000 a year in perpetuity. And the goal is to one day get to $1 million, Snedeker says.

As part of the Payne Stewart Award, a donation of $300,000 will be made to the Snedeker Foundation to help fund its mission of supporting athletic and social initiatives for young people across the middle Tennessee area. In addition, grants of $100,000 will be given to the Stewart Family Foundation and the Payne Stewart Memorial, respectively.

One of the Snedeker Foundation’s two primary charities is Our Kids Center, which has provided 24/7 crisis counseling and medical services to more than 30,000 children who have been victims of sexual abuse. Mandy Snedeker is a former president and long-time member of the board of directors of the organization she calls “small but mighty.”

“Being at some of these dinners where you have a survivor telling their story and how they're abused when they're a child and you see somebody else in the room stand up and say, I was abused. I never told anybody.” Snedeker says. “… (They say if) Our Kids Foundation was around when I was a kid, I would've been so much different a person.

“So, when you have those moments like that, you're like, oh gosh, this is why we did this. This is why we want to give back and help these people.”

Mandy Snedeker says becoming parents has amplified their desire to help.

“When we had kids, I think it made it all too real,” she explains. “People have children our kids' age that this is happening to, and it's just terrifying and scary. And then on the flip side, it’s reassuring to know that there's some place to go and we can tell people about this place. … So, I just feel like it was such a blessing to use Brandt's platform to be able to just even get the word out about the organization.”

The other primary charity supported by the Snedeker Foundation is the Sneds Tour, which is the junior golf circuit of the Tennessee Golf Foundation. Snedeker played on the tour as a kid, and he took over as a sponsor from Vince Gill several years ago as membership declined and funding was starting to dry up. The Sneds Tour now has more than 2,000 members and operates 174 events. Scholarships are available to make the game more affordable, as well.

“I want to make sure stay stays around forever,” Snedeker says. “… I really felt like it was an easy deal for me to do.”

Not unlike Love and his RSM Classic on the PGA TOUR, Snedeker has also partnered with the Korn Ferry Tour to operate the Simmons Bank Open for the Snedeker Foundation. The tournament, which will be played Sept. 12-15, enables the organization to support more youth-focused charities in the Nashville area and has provided a place to compete for pros like world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, Lanto Griffin and Austin Smotherman. Snedeker spends the week there interacting with the young pros who are there chasing their dreams.

“It's funny, I always forget how many guys out here now (on TOUR) … that played in that event,” says Snedeker, who spent two full seasons and part of another on the Korn Ferry Tour. “I just never even think about it. And they come up and say, thanks so much for doing that. I'm like, well, when I needed a place to play, it's part of it. …

“And so, all those guys, I'm always cheering for them. They're always on my radar. So, it's fun. I feel I'm kind of connected with them in a way.”

Like any competitor, he doesn’t like being beaten by them, though.

But a series of injuries have short-circuited Snedeker’s golf in recent years. The 43-year-old has had two hip surgeries as well as an operation to take a bone out of his hip and put it in his sternum to stabilize the manubrium joint. That procedure sidelined him for six months last year. He’s also had surgeries on a finger, toe and knee that kept him sidelined.

In 22 starts this year, the man who shot 59 at Sedgefield Country Club to win the 2018 Wyndham Championship only made five cuts. He’ll start the FedExCup Fall ranked 208 th and looking forward to eliminating the scar tissue – literally and figuratively – that has been holding him back.

“I feel blessed obviously to be in this position I'm in,” Snedeker says. “I still feel like I have a lot in the tank. I still feel like I can play some great golf and win some more tournaments. This year's been a tough year, just come back from injury and haven't been playing well. But I'm kind of at peace with where I am.

“I guess in my career I want to have a second act. I want to be a Steve Stricker and win a bunch after 42, 43 and play great golf. But if that doesn't happen, I'm completely content with how I've done out here and what I've done and what I've accomplished.”

On Tuesday in Atlanta, though, birdies and bogeys won’t be front and center. Instead, Snedeker will be celebrated for what he unselfishly does for other people.

“It just feels like it's my responsibility,” Snedeker says. “I don't do it for me. I do it because it's the right thing to do and it's what I should be doing. I'm blessed.

“I mean, I play games for a living. So, it's fun to see those fruits come, to see how it impacts other people. I get more out seeing people smile and have fun than I do about anything it does for me.”

This week's dispatch

How to enjoy labor day weekend.

Maximizing Labor Day weekend isn't for the faint of heart.

You're already exhausted from the summer months and back-to-school shopping, but if you want to enjoy the last bits of summer, here's how to do it without losing your sanity.

While some of you may already be at your destination, millions of others are set to embark during the busiest travel weekend of the summer. AAA said that US road trips will increase by 9% this weekend compared to last year. Meanwhile, TSA said they expect to screen 17 million airline passengers from August 29 through September 4. So it wouldn't hurt to get to the airport early.

If you're wondering about the best time to get on the road, try Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning. That's when you can expect roads to be less congested, according to transportation data aggregate INRIX .

And if you haven't yet settled on a destination (no judgment!), avoid destinations prone to overtourism. AAA booking data found that Seattle is the No. 1 destination for its users this weekend, followed by Boston, Chicago, Denver, Las Vegas, New York, Orlando, and San Francisco.

But if you'd rather stay put, simply going outdoors in your own backyard is well worth it. It also comes with a handful of health benefits , from lowering inflammation to improving your ability to focus.

The real star of the US Open

Aside from the players on the court, one of the biggest draws of the US Open is the tournament's official cocktail: the Honey Deuce. It's an Instagrammable staple of the event and also a very lucrative sales driver — generating $9.9 million in sales last year.

Debuting in 2007, the Honey Deuce was created by a restaurateur who consulted for Grey Goose in the early 2000s. The drink consists of vodka, lemonade, Chambord, and a honeydew melon ball garnish symbolizing a tennis ball.

  • Padel is more fun than pickleball. But can the pricey racket sport enjoyed by America's top 1% win over the whole country ?

Celebrity friendships are nothing new, and have long been a way to make attention-grabbing headlines. In the past few years, though, celeb besties have taken the next step: becoming business partners.

Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, having bought Wrexham AFC in 2020, became the blueprint for such relationships. Now, Hollywood friends are realizing that two stars are better than one.

The hottest new business model in Hollywood .

Inside the iconic "Wave House"

The Wave House, a legendary Malibu home once owned by singer Rod Stewart, just changed hands. Karlie Kloss and Joshua Kushner dropped $29.5 million to call the beachfront property their own.

With six bedrooms and eight bathrooms, the home is roughly 6,200 square feet. Then there's its namesake: Made to look like cresting waves, the house has a rounded rooftop that's speculated to have inspired the Sydney Opera House.

Take a tour of the imposing property .

Don't do this at a golf course

Whether you're a first-timer at your neighborhood links or visiting one of the world's most prestigious golf courses, following the sport's etiquette is key.

For example, you shouldn't ignore the dress code and show up wearing jeans, tank tops, or backward hats. It's also a classic faux pas to not repair your marks on the green. PGA pros and course employees shared the biggest mistakes they see people making at golf courses and how players can be more respectful.

Here's what the experts said .

  • I've been to over 200 high-end golf courses around the globe. Here are 8 mistakes I always see first-timers make .

What we're watching this weekend

  • "The Fall Guy": Ryan Gosling's action-comedy about a stuntman who finds himself wrapped up in a conspiracy hits Peacock this weekend.
  • "Only Murders in the Building": Hulu's hit mystery dramedy starring Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez returns for its fourth season.
  • "The Deliverance": Oscar nominee Lee Daniels' new horror thriller, inspired by a true story, is now streaming on Netflix.
