How Do You Make A Good Travel Reel?
Making a good travel reel, Insta story or TikTok doesn’t have to be difficult. You’ll naturally capture visually stunning content since you’re already travelling to epic destinations.
If you want to try and jazz up your reels and content, here are some tips to help:
- Use different angles to create different perspectives (try wide angle.)
- Check out some of the trending reels and stories for inspiration.
- Add text, like titles and inspirational captions if you feel the viewer can benefit.
- Choose an epic song for your travel reel from the list I just gave you.
- Don’t let filters overpower your content.
- Edit for the timing of the music if this adds to the flow.
Apart from that, the best advice is to just have fun with it. Remember that content is a result of your travel experiences, not the other way around!
Wrapping Up: Songs For Travel Reels
Since music plays such a significant role in how we remember our travel experiences it’s important to combine the visual and audio to create the perfect travel reel.
The songs listed here are just a small sample of the sounds that can make your travel reels more engaging. The more travel reels/stories you create, the easier it will be to choose the best song to match.
I prefer to edit my content after a trip since I’m always too busy enjoying myself during it. It’s important to know that creating great content isn’t the whole part of the journey (unless you’re a paid influencer!)

Go Viral With These 10 Trending Travel Songs For Instagram Reels in 2024
Whether travelling to an exotic location or taking a road trip, posting your adventures on platforms like Instagram Reels has become an effective means to document and highlight your experiences.
But just posting doesn’t guarantee engagement. One vital element that can boost your travel content is your choice of music. A well-chosen song can define the tone, elicit emotions, and increase the engagement of your videos.
To help you go viral with your travel content, we’ve prepared a list of 10 trending travel songs for Instagram Reels.
What Exactly Are Travel Reel Songs?
Travel reel songs are trending music used in Instagram Reels to create entertaining and engaging vacation content. Using popular songs that evoke a sense of excitement or wanderlust can help bring your adventure reels to life and make them more appealing to your audience.
However, if you want to get engaging travel songs for Instagram reels, there are three options. They are as follows.
- Use music that complements the vibe of your brand.
- Make use of viral music.
- Make use of background music.
How to find the right music to match the vibe of your brand
Finding the right music to match the vibe of your brand is essential for creating reels that resonate with your followers. The songs you select should fit the overall tone and message you want to convey.
Furthermore, the following are methods that will help you find music that matches your brand:
- Define the personality and values of your brand: Is your brand modern and edgy or traditional and classic? Do you want to exude vigour, sophistication, or relaxation? Finding music that matches your brand will be easier once you understand its personality and values.
- Investigate your target audience: Select music from genres and eras your target audience enjoys. For example, classic rock songs may appeal to Baby Boomers, whereas recent pop hits are more likely to appeal to Millennials and Gen Z.
- Seek inspiration: Look through music blogs and playlists to find new and emerging artists who fit the vibe of your brand.
- Test and refine: Once you’ve chosen some potential tracks, run them by your target audience to see how they react.
How to use viral sounds to expand reach and engagement
Using popular sounds and music on Reels is a simple way to boost views and engagement. People enjoy discovering new songs and sounds, so highlighting what is currently popular or trending is an excellent strategy.
Furthermore, the following are methods for obtaining viral sounds for your Instagram reels:
- A trending TikTok sound : Reusing popular TikTok sounds on Reels is a simple way to capitalise on their popularity.
- A new song snippet: When a famous artist releases a new song, posting a short clip on Reels within a day or two of its release allows you to capitalise on the hype.
- A sound from a recently released film or TV show: Profit from the popularity of movies, TV shows, characters, or quotes.
- A sound of a viral meme: Meme sounds and catchphrases are notorious for spreading like wildfire across platforms. Including one in your Reel can increase its visibility and shares.
- To get trending IG songs, follow @creators and @reelstips : On Fridays, they upload a lot of viral Instagram trends.
How to make Instagram reels with background music
Are you tired of using the same sound as everyone else? Do you want something unique for your brand? Here’s an idea: use background music for reels.
Here are some ideas to help you go viral:
- Voiceovers: Your voice is a potent tool, and including a voiceover in your reel can help bring your travel experiences to life. Your voiceover should be exciting and informative while complementing the visuals in your reel.
- Use soft and mellow instrumentals: Mellow, soft instrumentals are ideal for travel-themed reels. They create a soothing and relaxing environment that transports viewers to your location.
- Make use of nature sounds: The sound of waves crashing against the shore, birds chirping in the morning, or rain falling on leaves can enhance the immersion of your footage.
Note: Keep your reel short and sweet – aim for 15-30 seconds – and always make sure the music and sounds you use are licensed for commercial use or fall under fair use guidelines.

Trump Joins TikTok, the App He Once Tried to Ban
The former president has recently embraced the platform as he seeks to reach younger voters.

Donald J. Trump has joined TikTok, the social media app that he tried to ban during his presidency but that he more recently has embraced as he and his campaign try to reach younger voters before November’s general election.
Mr. Trump’s account shared its first video on Saturday night, when he attended an Ultimate Fighting Championship bout in New Jersey. In the post, Mr. Trump stands in the bowels of an arena next to Dana White, the U.F.C. chief executive. “The president is now on TikTok,” Mr. White says.
“It’s an honor,” Mr. Trump responds, a striking change of tune from his efforts to ban the app through an executive order over national security concerns.
Then, the video, just 13 seconds long, cuts to clips of Mr. Trump walking into the packed arena and receiving a raucous and warm reception from U.F.C. fans while Kid Rock’s song “American Bad Ass” plays in the background.
Mr. Trump’s inaugural post is largely an extension of his campaign’s efforts on social media to amplify the hero’s welcome he often gets at U.F.C. fights, where the largely young and male audience tends to overlap with his base.
But his decision to join TikTok was a striking turnabout in his views of the social video app, which has roughly 170 million American users and an audience that skews younger than those of other social media platforms.
While he was president, Mr. Trump expressed national security concerns about the app’s owner, the Chinese company ByteDance. In 2020, he issued an executive order requiring the company to divest from its American assets. That order was blocked in federal court before Mr. Trump left the White House.
This year, Congress passed, with broad bipartisan support, a bill to force TikTok’s owner to sell the app or have it banned in the United States. Mr. Trump said he opposed such a ban, explaining his shift by saying that he did not want to alienate young people or risk making Meta, the owner of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, more dominant.
And after President Biden signed the bill, Mr. Trump made a direct plea to young voters. “Young people, remember: Crooked Joe Biden is the one that wants to take your TikTok away from you,” he said on his social media site Truth Social.
Steven Cheung, a spokesman for the Trump campaign, framed Mr. Trump’s joining TikTok as part of the campaign’s efforts to connect with younger voters. “We will leave no front undefended and this represents the continued outreach to a younger audience consuming pro-Trump and anti-Biden content,” he said in a statement.
Mr. Biden’s campaign joined the app in February as part of its efforts to help improve the president’s flagging support among young voters. Its videos are largely a steady stream of anti-Trump content. So far, its account has 335,600 followers, while Mr. Trump’s has 1.4 million.
An internal analysis within TikTok found nearly twice as many pro-Trump posts as pro-Biden ones on the platform since November: There were 1.29 million pro-Trump posts to 651,000 pro-Biden posts.
Lawmakers and intelligence officials remain concerned that the app may be a threat to national security, partly because of how the Chinese government could use it to spread propaganda, particularly in an election year.
The company said last month that it would introduce new measures to limit the spread of videos from state-affiliated media accounts, including from Chinese and Russian outlets. TikTok has filed a lawsuit against the federal government contesting the law to force a sale or a ban.

Presidential Race: News and Analysis
Donald Trump’s conviction plunges the country into unmapped political terrain , a rare moment that could reshuffle a 2024 race that has been locked in stasis and defined by a polarizing former president.
After Trump’s verdict, interviews with dozens of Democrats revealed a party hungry to tell voters that Trump’s conviction makes him unfit for office , and hopeful that President Biden will lead the way.
In his first public outing since the verdict, Trump attended a U.F.C. fight in New Jersey and reveled in the embrace of male fans .
Flip-Flopping on Abortion: Republicans in competitive Senate races have changed their approach on the issue of abortion , softening their rhetoric, shifting their positions and even embracing policies championed by Democrats.
New Jersey Primary: For decades, New Jersey’s House and Senate primary elections were typically low-drama affairs. But this year’s dozen contests involve considerable intrigue .
Clashing Appeals to Black Voters: Biden and Trump both see Black outreach as critical to winning in November. But their approaches differ in fundamental and revealing ways .

Joe Jonas Seemingly References Sophie Turner Divorce in New Song Teaser on TikTok: 'Feeling So Miserable'
Singer Joe Jonas filed for divorce from actress Sophie Turner in September 2023
Joe Jonas/TikTok
Joe Jonas is seemingly using new music to give fans insight into his divorce from Sophie Turner .
On Wednesday, May 29, the Jonas Brothers member shared a clip of new music on TikTok that he captioned, "even baddies get saddies."
In the video, Jonas, 34, rides his bike along a path surrounded by fields as the music plays in the background and he mouths the words to the reflective track.
"Come on, Joe, you got so much more to be grateful for," the upbeat track begins.
"Stop being sad because you're making the room uncomfortable/OK I get it/I know you're feeling so miserable/Sometimes I wish I had powers to be invisible," he sings on the track. "Even baddies get saddies and that's the hardest truth/Called your mommy and daddy, they don't know what to do."
While Jonas seems to be embracing sad boy summer in the new track, he has largely kept quiet about his split from Turner, 28, with whom he shares daughters Willa, 3½, and Delphine, 22 months.
Shortly after he filed for divorce in September 2023, Jonas and the Game of Thrones actress released a joint statement on Instagram.
“After four wonderful years of marriage we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage,” the statement read . “There are many speculative narratives as to why, but truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children,"
That same week, he took the stage during a Jonas Brothers show in Los Angeles and seemingly addressed the split before performing the song "Hesitate," which was written about Turner.
"It's been a crazy week," he said. "I just want to say, if you don't hear it from these lips, don't believe it. OK? Thank you, everyone, for the love and support to me and my family. I love you guys."
The "Sucker" singer has since been spotted spending time with model Stormi Bree , while Turner appears to have moved on with British aristocrat Peregrine Pearson .
Turner opened up about the split in a candid interview with British Vogue earlier this month, saying she was "unhappy with the way everything played out" following the divorce.
"I think we're doing the best we can," she said. "I'm confident that we can figure it out. Joe is a great father to our children and that's all that I can ask for."

Opinion | John McEntee: With TikTok ban, Republicans got duped again
After working for President Trump in the White House, I started a dating app for conservatives called The Right Stuff. To promote the app, I tried all the conventional methods: buying ads, hosting events, and doing press. This was labor-intensive, expensive, and produced minimal results. It wasn’t until I started posting satirical TikTok skits about dating that my business started taking off. In a year, we gained two million followers and over 100 million likes on the platform. Young conservatives are downloading my app and finding love. The best part is it costs us nothing.
Last month, President Biden upended the lives of over 100 million American users by signing a bill that forces TikTok to divest from its parent company or face a ban in the United States. Rather than allowing lawmakers to vote on the ban as a standalone bill, Speaker Mike Johnson and congressional Republicans jammed the bill in with $95 billion in foreign aid . The most concerning aspect of the ban is that it was based on a false national security narrative pushed by the intelligence community and Biden’s Department of Justice, who had a hand in writing the bill. Of course, Republicans fell for it.
As a TikTok creator, I decided to look into the allegations surrounding the app. If I was being manipulated by the Chinese government, I wanted to know. It turns out there’s not a single known instance of the Chinese government influencing the content on the app. And all American user data is stored here in the U.S. with Oracle, an American company. If the concern is American user data going to China, why didn’t Congress just ban that? TikTok doesn’t share our data with China, but other companies do.
Instead of taking these facts into consideration, Republicans rushed to pass a bill that grants new censorship powers to the government. Besides banning TikTok, the bill gives the President the ability to ban companies he says are acting at the direction of a foreign adversary. After all we’ve learned the last four years about how the government pressured media companies to censor legitimate speech about COVID, it boggles my mind that Republicans would vote to give President Biden new censorship powers. You don’t need a vivid imagination to see how this could be used against conservative media outlets like Fox News, which the Democrats constantly accuse of being apologists for Russia.
The bottom line is, Republicans got played. Because they wanted to act like they’re tough on China in an election year, they gave the Biden Administration and Facebook exactly what they wanted. Now, 170 million Americans will have to pay the price for their political theater.

The insane true story behind netflix’s ‘dancing for the devil: the 7m tiktok cult’.

Melanie Wilking in "Dancing for the Devil: The 7M TikTok Cult" on Netflix.
Netflix’s new three-episode series, Dancing for the Devil: The 7M TikTok Cult , exposes the alleged cult-like environment surrounding TikTok dancers signed to 7M Films. While watching the docuseries, you might have questions about what happened, including who is Robert Shinn and where Miranda Wilking is now .
Dancing for the Devil centers on Miranda Wilking, a dancer and content creator who had a popular TikTok channel with her sister, Melanie, called the Wilking Sisters. Thanks to their popular dancing videos, the siblings accumulated millions of followers and lucrative brand deals.
Miranda started growing distant from her family after being introduced to her now-husband James (BDash) Derrick and signing with Los Angeles-based 7M Films, a talent management agency owned by Robert Shinn, a pastor at the Shekinah Church. (In 2022, 7M Films released a statement that it “operate(d) separately and apart” from Shekinah Church.)

Beneath perfectly choreographed TikTok videos, lavish Hollywood homes, red carpet appearances, and performing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, dancers in 7M were cutting off their families, reportedly brainwashed and influenced by the religious leader. “Both former 7M employees and church members have accused Shinn of controlling behavior,” according to Netflix’s Tudum .

In Dancing for the Devil, Miranda’s sister, Melanie, and their parents, Kelly and Dean, dive into what it was like losing Miranda and their desperate attempts to re-establish contact with her. On February 24, 2022, they released an Instagram video speculating that 7M was a cult and that Miranda was being manipulated. The Netflix documentary also features testimonies of other dancers who have since left 7M Films and are now trying to get justice against Shinn, including Konkrete, Kailea Gray, and Kylie Douglas.
“My hope is that people will continue to dig into the story and ask questions—some of the questions that you’re even asking—in hopes to reunite these families,” executive producer Jessica Acevedo told Glamour .
She continued, “To bring justice to people, while also maybe even having a little more patience and understanding of where people are. I think we’re really quick to want to label people and put them in these little boxes and categories when it’s not a one size fits all. Let’s have some grace, let’s have some patience and be understanding.”
Who Is Robert Shinn, And What Happened To Him?
"Dancing for the Devil: The 7M TikTok Cult" on Netflix.
Robert Shinn is an LA pastor at the Shekinah Church in Los Angeles, California, who also founded the 7M Films talent management company. Shinn started Shekinah as a religious community for Korean Americans. Two of those Korean immigrants were Melanie Lee and her sister Priscylla, who both joined in 1999. They lived in a house with the other church members until Melanie left, causing her to lose contact with her sister for a decade.
“There were maybe 15 people, and that included his family and his sister Catherine’s family,” Lee explains in the series. She said that Robert and Catherine “promised” her and Priscylla all of the love the two of them “never really experienced.” According to Time.com , “Shinn opened several businesses, including a café, two mortgage companies, two real estate companies, and two flower shops.” Lee said that the employees were church members who were not paid much.
Shinn — whose son, Isaiah Shinn, was filming the Derricks’ content — started 7M Films in 2021 and signed a bunch of successful dancers on social media, including Miranda and her husband James Derrick. The dancers in the agency lived together in a house to create their content, which had a focus on modern choreography to old hits — including some songs that were specifically chosen by Shinn.
According to CNN , Shinn filed a lawsuit in 2022 claiming defamation and trade libel against several former church members, including the Lee sisters, alleging the defendants made “false statements” by calling Shinn’s organizations a cult and launched a campaign to “cancel” Shinn “through flagrant, defamatory attacks on social and other media.”
In 2023, Davis, Fisher, Douglas, and others joined a cross-complaint with the former church members against Shinn, his wife, their entities and other affiliated individuals. “The claims accuse them of fraud, forced labor and human trafficking, as well as Robert of sexual battery. The case is scheduled to go to trial in July 2025 in Los Angeles; to date, no criminal charges have been filed,” per CNN.
No criminal charges have been filed against Shinn.
Why Did 7M Members Have To Cut Off Their Families?
Kylie Douglas in "Dancing for the Devil: The 7M TikTok Cult" on Netflix.
According to interviews from former 7M members and audio recordings of Shinn’s sermons, 7M members were asked to “die to” themselves and their families. This means completely cutting contact with them to ensure that they and their loved ones go to heaven in the afterlife.
“Dying to yourself means that whatever you want or whatever you need, you have to ‘die to it,’ because whenever you die to something, it’ll come back to life and resurrect,” one former member explained in Dancing for the Devil.
Another former 7M dancer said that they were taught to “die to your family in order to save them,” and heighten their chances into “getting into heaven one day.”
Where Is Miranda Wilking Now?

Miranda Wilking, who goes by Miranda Derrick, is still a member of 7M Films and frequently posts dancing videos on social media . She and her family speak to each other occasionally, under the condition that they aren’t allowed to ask or talk about 7M or the Shekinah Church.
Miranda has posted several pictures with her family on Instagram, including a recent photo at Melanie’s wedding , a video with her mom for Mother’s Day in 2024, and another video dancing with her mom and sister in April.
The docuseries alleges that these posts are mainly for show and that Miranda is still close to Shinn. Meanwhile, Melanie called her interactions with Miranda “superficial” and said they were orchestrated for her sister’s social media presence.
“I am not held against my will and I’ve never been a hostage,” Miranda said in a public statement about the allegations that she is in a cult. “I go to church and I have faith in God. If one day I wish to pursue my faith elsewhere, I will and feel completely free to do that. As far as my career, my time at 7M Films has been one of the most exciting years ever and if one day I wish to partner with a different management company or start my own company, I will.”
