Nespresso Travel Mug Comparison

I had previously reviewed the Nespresso Touch travel mug and the Nespresso Nomad travel mug ; now I wanted give a comparison of these two Nespresso travel mug options. For this comparison I used the medium Nomad mug (the Touch Travel Mug comes in one size only).

Which Is The Best Nespresso Travel Mug?

For me, after reviewing the Nomad and Touch travel mugs in detail and comparing them, the Nespresso Touch travel mug is the winner. If it were 100% leak proof it would be almost perfect!

If you are looking for a travel mug that fits under your Nespresso machine, both of these work well with the Vertuo machines. In my article Travel Mug For Nespresso , I share measurements of most popular Nespresso machines , test whether some travel mugs fit under the machines and suggest a workaround if your mug doesn’t fit.    

Key Differences

• The Nespresso Medium Nomad travel mug is a little bigger than the Nespresso Touch travel mug and it holds slightly more coffee (13.5oz vs 11oz). The Nomad feels a bit big in your hand and is not as easy to carry as the Touch mug. (The small Nomad mug is 10oz and the large Nomad mug is 18oz.) 
• The Nomad mug is fully leak proof. The Touch mug leaks small amounts when its shaken or tipped over. 
• The Touch mug will fit in your car’s cupholder. The medium Nomad mug is slightly wider than a standard 3″ cupholder and may not fit in all. 
• The Touch mug is easier to clean. Both mugs are dishwasher safe but the lid on the Touch is much easier to deep clean. You can read my full thought’s of the Nomad lid in the review, it is the main weakness of the mug. I give detailed instructions on how to dismantle the Nomad lid but conclude that it still doesn’t allow thorough cleaning.

Nespresso travel mug temperature retention compared.

In my temperature tests these 2 mugs performed almost identically. Given the Touch travel mug is a smaller capacity, its actual temperature retention performance is slightly better as larger volumes of liquid will retain their temperature better.
