The Wedding Veil Journey

• Tracy and Nick agree to set aside work to make time for a long overdue honeymoon to Greece. When they are stranded on a secluded island, they confront their life choices.
• Needing to reconnect as wife and husband, Tracy and Nick decide to set aside work to go on their long delayed honeymoon, although they realize that the honeymoon is only a stopgap measure for the bigger problem of not being able to spend time together in their day-to-day lives. With the honeymoon, they, unlike their regular selves, decide to let fate choose where to go as their jumping off point for the first night after which they will proverbially "wing it", the only stipulation being no place that would be associated with work or be tempted to work as the biggest problem in not being to spend time together at home. That jumping off point ends up being the city of Rhodes in Greece, they planning on making a stop in Spain on their way home on Nick's family's want for them to drop the veil off with his unattached sister Monica to give her a little nudge in the matrimony department. But even that plan of Rhodes as the jumping off point doesn't come to pass in ending up further down the coast in Lindos out of circumstance, staying at a newly renovated old inn run by brother and sister Xander and Tessa, it struggling in Tracy and Nick in addition to their only other two concurrent British guests, Lady Dalton and her young adult grandson Colin Dalton, the most they've ever had at one time. Before it makes its way to Spain, someone seems to want to borrow the veil to work its magic locally. Work does seem to call on this trip for both Tracy and Nick, the latter who comes to a local in need. But Tracy thinks someone else locally is in need, namely Leo, a young proverbial street urchin whose story she and Nick will eventually learn, it being a one of his own passion battling against adult authority in looking out for his future. — Huggo

‘The Wedding Veil Journey’: Alison Sweeney Talks Tracy & Nick’s Honeymoon Crashers

Just because the three women at the center of  The Wedding Veil Trilogy movies are now married doesn’t mean there isn’t still magic to be found when each is in possession of the veil.

In the third film of the second trilogy, The Wedding Veil Journey , Tracy ( Alison Sweeney ) is the one once again in possession of it, this time as she and Nick ( Victor Webster )  finally go on their honeymoon — in Greece! Tracy’s best friends Avery ( Lacey Chabert ) and Emma ( Autumn Reeser ), of course, have roles to play.

Sweeney previews the latest  Wedding Veil movie and shares if we’ll see any more Hallmark mystery movies ( Chronicle Mysteries ,  Hannah Swenson Mysteries ) from her.

Everything about this third movie in this trilogy was gorgeous. It made me really want to travel to Greece.

Alison Sweeney: Oh my gosh. I had never been to a Greek island before, and it just blew my mind. It was so beautiful.

How is Tracy and Nick’s relationship going, especially with how busy they both are with work going into this film?

I really liked that story point because I think that Tracy and Nick are like a lot of couples: They have their routine, they have their schedules, they’re busy working adults, and they find themselves in a rut. They’re not making time for each other. They’re kind of just going through the day-to-day motions, trying to leave little notes for each other, but without really mixing up their own schedule or making a change to their own plan. And I think that it’s costing their relationship a little bit.

Yeah, those notes are so sweet, but at the same time, a little heartbreaking.

Exactly, yeah, that they’re not making time and they’re just acknowledging the relationship without really doing something about it. There was a great line when Tracy says, “I didn’t choose to marry Post-It notes.”

But they’re finally getting that honeymoon. It only took a couple of years. How does that go?

Of course with these movies, it’s always about the friendship with the three women. And so the advice she gets from these two happily married friends of hers is that she needs to take a honeymoon and she needs to take it seriously. I think Avery is spot on in noticing that, in their routine, in their schedule, they just haven’t made time for each other. And this is the perfect way to encourage them both to do that.

There’s been talk about Tracy and kids in these movies. How does that come up in this one?

After finding out that Avery was pregnant, Tracy sort of sticks to the — I think it’s something that she’s always just assumed about herself, that she’s just not the mothering type and didn’t really see herself having kids and never really questioned why or more than just the day-to-day of like, she’s too busy. And so it’s sort of a fun surprise when they meet a young boy who just really captures Tracy’s heart. She just never saw herself as that kind of woman.

What role does the veil play in this film? Because it’s always so fun to see how that factors in.

Yeah, I love how the veil just continues to work its magic throughout all these movies, even though they’re already married. It finds its way into the hands of other people who need its magic, and even Tracy is forced to acknowledge that this veil has something to it.

You brought up the women’s friendship, which I think is done so well over these films. It could kind of fall to the side sometimes because each character has to have their own film, but with each one, it’s a nice through line. So what you enjoy most about that?

That’s exactly it. What I love about these movies is that the friendship still is such a main part of it. Even though each movie is telling a different character’s story separately, their role and influence in each other’s lives are crucial, pivotal, and game changing and supportive of each other, the love they share for each other, the fact that they see each other so clearly… They are there for each other, unquestioningly, but they’re also willing to tell each other the truth, you know? Especially when it comes to Tracy, someone who is sort of matter of fact about herself and she doesn’t dig too deeply, she needs her friends to point out to her her shortcomings or when she’s being a little stubborn. And so I love that. But they’re all there for each other. They all support each other. And I think that’s something that everyone, when they watch these movies, really relates to and feels about themselves and their own friendships or their sister or cousin or whoever it is in your life. You feel that way about people that you’re close to.

And no matter where they are in the world, the other two will drop everything and go to that person if that person needs them.

Yeah. It was so funny, but with a wink, that her two best friends come and crash her honeymoon and Nick had such a great line, like, of course they did. In some ways my, my husband says the same thing about my best friend who I’ve been best friends with since I was a teenager. He always says that, like, “Oh, I know where I stand. I know you have your best friend and that’s important too.” And so I think it was really cool that Nick had that line of dialogue acknowledging their friendship.

Besides showing that friendship, what do you enjoy most about making these trilogies?

The travel. The locations were incredible. I love filming on Vancouver Island. It’s so beautiful there and such a fun adventure to be out there and then to go to Bulgaria and to get to travel to Greece. It was just really such a cool thing to do and an opportunity that doesn’t come around all the time.

What was your favorite scene to film from this movie?

I loved so much of it. All the scenes walking through the little town, the beautiful cobblestone streets with the white walls, the very Greece sort of locations were so spectacular. I guess my favorite would be the day that we filmed in Anthony Quinn Bay. It was this beautiful little bay and it’s meant to be the view that you see from the hotel they’re staying at when they have the scenes looking over the bar. Autumn and Lacey and I could not stand how spectacular this view was. It was just so beautiful, but it was kind of high above the actual beach. And so during a break in between the scenes, we took off our high heels and ran down this rickety stairwell to take pictures on the beach, which are the pictures now that everyone’s using of the three of us together. It was just so funny. We were like, we’ve gotta do it. And we tear down these kind of precarious steps to get down there, and all the producers were like, “Wait, slow down. Let us help you.” [ Laughs ] “Be careful!”

Are there any plans for another trilogy?

Well, certainly the three of us were coming up with our own ideas to pitch the network. We would love to make more of these movies, so we were having all sorts of brainstorming sessions about it while we were filming. I hope they do more, but of course, I’m just happy with what we’ve been able to accomplish.

Will There Be More 'Signed, Sealed, Delivered' or 'Good Witch' at Hallmark?

What can you share about what you’d like to see in another trilogy?

I saw fans tweeting during the last movie — we do these live tweets during the premiere — and some were saying, there should be a Christmas episode or a vacation episode. And I was like, oh my gosh, that would be so fun, if we could do something like that, like Downton Abbey  doing a Christmas movie.

Will we be getting any more mystery movies from you?

Yes, you will. I can’t give away too much information, but I am working on something right now.

Can you say for which series?

I cannot. When I have permission, I will tell you. I’m so excited.

When Hallmark moved forward with a  second  trilogy of  Wedding Veil  movies following the success of the first three films , the cast -- led by Lacey Chabert , Autumn Reeser and Alison Sweeney -- were just as excited as fans were to continue to tell the stories of best friends Avery, Emma and Tracy. 

"I was so thrilled to have the opportunity to make the first three, and when they did so well and the fans reacted so strongly, Hallmark reached out and said they wanted to do more movies. When Lacey told me, I was over the moon. So excited to get the chance to work with Lacey and Autumn again, to revisit these characters with new stories," Sweeney told ET over the phone on Thursday.

With the final installment of the the second trio of movies , the Greece-set  The Wedding Veil Journey , launching this weekend, the interest in continuing the franchise beyond the two trilogies is palpable amongst its stars. "Are you kidding? We would have dinner together and pitch each other ideas for what the next movies could be. So yes, there's definitely room for more Wedding Veil magic and I'm here for it," Sweeney confirmed, adding that "more is better." "If they want to do it, sign me up."

The latest film puts the spotlight on Sweeney's Tracy, who is navigating newlywed life with her husband, Nick (Victor Webster). But the couple, who are experiencing professional success, is stuck in a rut. After some nudging, they agree to make time for their long overdue honeymoon and head to Greece -- the perfect place to relax and sightsee. When a travel delay costs them their hotel room, they get the opportunity to stay on a remote island nearby. Is it possible the veil is once again working its magic and bringing them exactly where they need to be?  

"First of all, I've never gotten to do a travel movie like that before, so I was pretty excited for that in general," Sweeney said, recalling her experience of filming on location for Wedding Veil Journey . "I just never thought it was really going to happen, and I have that in my nature, maybe like Tracy. Like, 'Yeah, yeah. We'll see when they buy the plane ticket. I'll believe it when I'm actually there.' And then we were really there. We were in Greece, and it was spectacular and beautiful, more beautiful than you can imagine. I mean, just unbelievable... It just helped the movie celebrate grief and love and travel and romance and history, the love of art that these women share. I think that was all a part of what made this movie so incredible."

The actress singled out the days filming at the Acropolis as a career highlight. Sweeney noted that it was the first time they've allowed a film crew on site.

"We are standing up there, and I sort of had this moment of thinking of all the soldiers to walk those parapets looking for danger on the horizon. And you see the sea stretch out forever in front of you. And it was so incredible, literally incredible to be there," she shared. "To get up there, you have to ride this crazy, winding golf cart, and then it's a long hike at the end. You're walking up all these stairs and then you get there and it's so magnificent. So we took a million photos up there and I'll never forget taking it all in and, 'Oh my gosh, I can't believe I get to be here today. I can't believe I'm working just my job.'"

With regards to the story within  Wedding Veil Journey , Sweeney credited the fact that the friendship and bond between the three main characters have been well-established by this point, which allows for this second set of movies to go deeper into their respective relationships and explore the conflicts that everyday people deal with. 

"It's so nice to have the three movies of the trilogy to establish the relationships. But what you've seen in the first two movies is that Nick and Tracy are happily married, but they're a bit in a rut. They've developed a routine and they both have their careers. And in some ways they didn't make room in their lives for their relationship, I think. And Avery very cleverly points out, 'Well, you haven't even taken your honeymoon yet. It's been three years,'" she said. "I think that's a really good setup for a lot of couples. Even if you did take your honeymoon, you can get set in your ways. You can take each other for granted and go through the motions. This movie's really about their relationship and not just the falling in love again, but also how that means they need to make time for each other and not always be about their own plan."

The  Days of Our Lives  alum acknowledged it's both "exciting and also sort of nerve-wracking" to go beyond the typical Hallmark formula of a romantic movie, where girl meets boy in a meet-cute and they end up together. 

"You become kind of addicted to the formula too, and used to all those beats playing out. It does make you nervous hoping the fans will like it because it's different and it's not the same thing as meeting the boy, the meet-cute and the-hard-to-get. Is it him or that guy she is going to end up with? This is a little different," the 46-year-old actress said. "It's still romantic. It's fun. And the veil, of course, is still there working its magic but it is different."

"Another element I can't stress enough that I think is so special is the friendship. How normally in a more traditional rom-com, it wouldn't have as much of the relationship between the women emphasized," she noted. "And I think that that's what also is so special about these movies is that the reaction we got from the first three from the fans was how much they enjoyed the relationship between the women. So we were able to lean into that a little bit more in the second three and have more time onscreen between the three best friends. And it seems the fans have really enjoyed that."

As Hallmark evolves and expands its breadth of stories it tells, Sweeney is happy to remain part of the family and provide feel-good content for viewers.

"The thing that's still the same or the classic part of Hallmark that's still true, from my point of view, is that there's lots of stuff available on TV right now. What I actually don't think there's a lot of is the romance and something you can watch together as a family," she said. "I'm really happy satisfying that for the audience and providing that kind of entertainment because it's fun for me, that my parents and my kids and I, we can all watch it together and all celebrate this too. And I love that my daughter says like, 'Oh, my friend is making me text you that she loves the movie. She can't wait for your movie next week.' It just makes me feel good that I'm providing that kind of content into the universe and giving people a break from how difficult life is right now."

As for what's next, Sweeney hinted at an upcoming project that she can't quite speak about just yet -- but offered an intriguing tease.

"I have something coming up that I'm super excited about, but I can't talk about it. So I suppose you could tease there's a mystery in my future, and I'm very excited about it," she said coyly.

The Wedding Veil Journey  premieres Saturday, Jan. 21 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Hallmark Channel.

How have we already finished the newest Wedding Veil Trilogy!?! This trilogy is completed and this is also week FOUR of Hallmark Channel’s New Year New Movies series! Let’s just dive right into “The Wedding Veil: Journey” movie review”

How have we completed a second Wedding Veil Trilogy already?! It was just yesterday that Hallmark announced there was going to BE a second trilogy and now it’s completed! Time really flies! The third and final movie of the 2023 Wedding Veil trilogy is “The Wedding Veil: Journey” and this one takes us on the road to Greece! Let’s dive into some gorgeous scenery (Victor Webster included!) and get right into “The Wedding Veil: Journey” movie review!

The second Wedding Veil trilogy has wrapped up and we’ve gotten to watch all three friends become moms in this round of movies, which I LOVED. I loved these three movies as much as the original trilogy, if not more! To get caught up on the first two movies, check out the reviews for “The Wedding Veil: Expectations” and “ The Wedding Veil: Inspiration. “

Nick and Tracy are both super busy and their schedules are like ships passing in the night. Neither one is happy to keep being as busy as they are, so they decide to take their long-awaited honeymoon and they travel to Greece. They have a few bumps in the road with their accommodations and meet a whole cast of fun characters along the way. The veil works it’s magic, yet again, and it’s a cute and fun story.

Alison Sweeney and Victor Webster are the stars of this movie and they are fantastic. I love their chemistry together and they are really fun to watch. I adored the cast of “B” characters in this movie as well. Lady Dalton is played by Jane Asher and she is wonderful. I loved the love story between Colin (Nicholas Banks) and Tessa (Katerina Geronikolou). And then the cooky brother, Xander (Alexander Nicolaou) just made the movie!

The Bottom Line

I really enjoyed this movie. And my word, it was filmed in Greece, so the scenery did a lot of the heavy lifting of this movie! Of the three new movies, this one is my least favorite, but I still really enjoyed this movie and would recommend it! Let me know what you think once you’ve seen it.

Fun Film Facts

The Acropolis in this movie is the Lindos Acropolis (or the Acropolis of Rhodes). And it’s the first time that this Acropolis has been filmed in any movie . Lots of people don’t realize that the Acropolis in Athens isn’t the only one in all of Greece! This one looks to be absolutely gorgeous and surrounded by gorgeous scenery.

And there we have it! All three of the new Wedding Veil movies are over. It went so quickly! I can’t believe they are already done! I loved the scenery the most in this movie! Greece is just absolutely gorgeous. I love Alison Sweeney and Victor Webster so so much. They have great chemistry! I loved all the Wedding Veil movies, all 6 of them now! Will this be the end of the Wedding Veils? Or will they go on for 3 more next year! I can’t wait to hear what you think about this movie! Let me know once you’ve seen it! More Avery, Emma and Tracy please!

Hallmark is generally known for its feel-good Christmas romances — where happy endings are guaranteed and anything is possible with a good dose of holiday spirit — but the network actually premieres movies centered around different seasons and holidays throughout the year. One huge project that’s helped boost the network’s presence outside of Christmas is the enchanting Wedding Veil series starring three of the network’s biggest stars — Lacey Chabert , Alison Sweeney and Autumn Reeser. So after two trilogies in back-to-back years, will we see a third set of movies? We will if Sweeney has anything to say about it.

Alison Sweeney spoke to CinemaBlend recently about her latest Hallmark movie , Love & Jane , which is part of the network’s “Loveuary” celebration of Jane Austen . While Hallmark aired The Wedding Veil trilogies in 2022 and 2023, no such movie trio was announced for 2024, so I asked Sweeney if there was a chance she might reprise the role of Tracy in the future, and it sounds like good news for those who were disappointed they didn’t get to see the college friends reunite for their annual antiquing trip. Sweeney said: 

I had heard that people were talking about doing something, and certainly the girls and I would love to do another movie. So I hope Lacey makes something happen, because it would be so fun to reunite.

It sounds like nothing has been set in stone, if at this point Alison Sweeney’s only heard about people discussing the possibility of more Wedding Veil movies. But it’s promising that 1) those conversations are being had, and 2) it sounds like Sweeney, Lacey Chabert and Autumn Reeser are all down to continue their characters' stories.

The Wedding Veil series was what Lacey Chabert called “a longtime dream,” and not only did viewers love seeing the three Hallmark stalwarts share the screen, the franchise also allowed them to break out of the formulaic structure of your typical TV rom-com by showing the three main characters’ relationships after their respective weddings.

The first trilogy aired in early 2022, with three college friends — Avery, Emma and Tracy — finding a vintage veil that’s said to bring love to anyone who owns it. The first movie followed Avery and Peter (Lacey Chabert and Kevin McGarry), which was followed by The Wedding Veil Unveiled (centered around Autumn Reeser’s Emma and Paolo Bernardini’s Paolo), and finally The Wedding Veil Legacy starring Alison Sweeney as Tracy and Victor Webster as Nick.

Each couple headlined a follow-up movie in January 2023, with the second trilogy comprising The Wedding Veil Expectations , The Wedding Veil Inspiration and The Wedding Veil Journey .

Hopefully we haven’t seen the last of these characters, and Alison Sweeney is keeping hope alive that The Wedding Veil team can reunite. In the meantime, though, we’re likely to see the actresses continue popping up in other Hallmark projects. A year after "Christmas Everlasting," LaBelle starred in a second Hallmark flick called "A Family Christmas Gift." 

In the movie, she plays Dora, the aunt of the film's leading lady. Of course, you can hear LaBelle belt a song or two in the film. 

The country singer and father of Miley Cyrus is no stranger to acting, having starred with his daughter in the Disney Channel "Hannah Montana" series from 2006 until 2011. 

The same year "Hannah Montana: The Movie" was released, the father of the pop star could also be spotted in a Christmas movie. 

In 2009, Cyrus was in the Hallmark movie "Christmas in Canaan." 

Adrian Grenier was famously on the television series "Entourage" as well as films such as "Drive Me Crazy" and "The Devil Wears Prada."

Grenier has starred in two Hallmark movies to date. The first was "Love at First Glance," a 2017 movie that premiered on Valentine's Day.

James Brolin - famous actor, husband of Barbra Streisand, father of Josh Brolin, Hallmark star.

Brolin has been acting for many years. More recently in his career, he has taken on various projects for Hallmark. 

The first Hallmark movie he appeared in was the 2013 film "Christmas with Tucker." 

He then starred in "I'll Be Home For Christmas" in 2016. The newest Hallmark film that starred Brolin was "Royal Hearts" in 2018. 

You may know Julia Stiles from "10 Things I Hate About You," in which she played Kat Stratford.

In 2013, Stiles appeared as Hannah Higgins in the Hallmark movie "The Makeover." 

David Walton appeared alongside her in the comedy film. 

Zachary Levi is known for his role in the superhero flick "Shazam!" You may also recognize Levi's voice as Flynn Rider from Disney's "Tangled."  

Levi also starred in the television series "Chuck." 

In between all of that, Levi was in the Hallmark movie "Remember Sunday." The movie has a similar storyline to Adam Sandler's "50 First Dates," with the roles reversed. 

In this movie, Levi plays a character who suffers from short-term memory loss, causing him to repeatedly forget meeting a woman named Molly, played by Alexis Bledel. 

One of Lacey Chabert's most memorable movies was "Mean Girls," where she played Gretchen Wieners, one of Regina George's (Rachel McAdams) trusty sidekicks.

Chad Michael Murray became a heartthrob of the early 2000s when he played Lucas Scott in the TV series "One Tree Hill" and Austin Ames in the 2004 movie "A Cinderella Story" with Hilary Duff. 

Besides those roles, Murray has also had tons in Hallmark films as of recently. The first he appeared in was the 2018 movie "Road to Christmas." 

He was also in the 2018 film, "The Beach House," the 2019 movie "Write Before Christmas" and the 2020 Hallmark movie "Love in Winterland." 

The most recent Hallmark movies that starred Murray were "Angel Falls Christmas" and "Sand Dollar Love," which both came out in 2021. 

With all the Christmas charm Mariah Carey brings each year, it comes as no surprise that she was part of a Hallmark holiday flick. 

Carey was in the 2015 movie "A Christmas Melody." 

The film also starred Chabert, a Hallmark regular.

The Apprentice stars marry in lavish three-day wedding two years after meeting on show

Two years after meeting on BBC ’s The Apprentice , Harpreet Kaur and Akshay Thakrar have tied the knot!

The TV stars celebrated their love for one another in a truly lavish affair, joined by 60 loved ones for the special occasion.

Harpreet and Akshay – who went public with their romance shortly after their series of Lord Alan Sugar ’s show finished – opted for an outdoor ceremony.

Recalling their wedding, Akshay, 31, said: ‘The only way I can describe our wedding is that it felt like a movie, it was amazing.

Harpreet, 32, added to OK! Magazine : ‘I just wish we could do it all again, it went even better than we planned!’

The stunning bride walked down the aisle to an instrumental version of Bruno Mars’s hit Just The Way You Are as their three-day wedding began with a civil ceremony at Wentbridge House Hotel in Yorkshire on May 29.

Harpreet looked gorgeous in a flowing gown with floral detailing and a veil from Enzoani.

‘It was just beautiful, I’ve always dreamt of wearing a white wedding dress because, being Indian, we don’t always make a fuss of that day or the legal bit,’ said the sweet treats shop owner.

Akshay said the wedding was also his ‘first-ever English wedding’, which he found ‘fascinating’, having only ever seen them depicted in films before.

Sharing photos from the dreamy day on Instagram and with hundreds of congratulatory comments underneath, the newlyweds penned in a joint post: ‘Blessed and Married. Starting our forever chapter. ❤️’

The Apprentice lovebirds announced their engagement in May last year, sharing snaps of a romantic rooftop proposal.

At the time, Harpreet, who won Lord Sugar’s £250,000 investment thanks to her dessert parlour business back in 2022, was left stunned as Akshay got down on one knee in front of a rose petal display and pyrotechnics.

His Instagram caption announcing the news read: ‘I would find you in any lifetime ❤️

‘Our journey began in the most unexpected way. Now it’s time to begin our forever chapter.

‘She said yes 💍 Thank you to everyone who helped create this moment.’

Despite meeting during filming for The Apprentice, Harpreet and Akshay didn’t start dating until afterwards.

They later confessed that  an ‘unexpected’ relationship blossomed  between the pair, as they confirmed in the summer of last 2022 that  they were an item.

Meanwhile, business-wise, Harpreet parted ways with Lord Sugar last August.

Having worked closely with the business mogul on Oh So Yum! for 12 months, she is now flying solo but described the decision as ‘amicable’.

Lord Sugar was extremely complimentary of Harpreet’s business prowess in a follow-up quote.
