Wash monster

Lovely little trip.i see folk have complained about not seeing seals close up. They are wild animals they don't perform for us.we went after the storm and saw some in the water and 1beached. Seeing any wild animal however far away is a privilege. The guys on the monster are great I use a wheelchair and they were brilliant. I do have 1 complaint though and it was the same the last time we did the trip too!. The music.it is so special being out on the Wash away from all the noise along the prom listening to the birds , the music spoils it. Maybe it would be better to give a little story about Hunstanton pointing out landmarks. I regularly go on a trip in Berwick on tweed to look for dolphins, I've been many times still not seen a dolphin but I did learn little tales about Berwick. Thank you to the Wash monster for a great trip and polite helpful staff. Maybe you should tell the moaning minis how much fuel is used going out to the seals!

Absolute rubbish. Complete waste of money. You're so far away from the seals you can't even see them through the blurry binoculars you share around. £32 for a couple and you seem bugger all. Go to horsey gap and actually see deals instead. IT'S FREE.

We took the costal tour trip on the Wash Monster - I love Hunstanton but my partner had never seen the cliffs and this was a great way to experience them! Very friendly and informative staff, we learned a lot about the local area and had excellent views. Thank you very much! A great experience for all the family.

I really enjoyed this trip and seeing the seals in there natural habitat is just amazing... The crew on the wash monster where very good and informative... Would definitely do this again

sea tours hunstanton

Very average, over priced boat trip - you literally drive in a straight line out to the sea and see seals through binoculars before driving back to the shore. Our kids are 3 and were bored but maybe older children would like it. The poor review, however, is due to the horrendous customer service. I reserved a week in advance but was told on arrival our tickets had been given away. I actually thought the man was joking as we were there on time (despite him trying to say we were literally 2 mins late) and because the way he said it was so rude that I couldn’t believe customers would be spoken to that way. He said he had been trying to call me to get me to pay in advance (despite being told we could pay on the day by the lady I had been dealing with on the phone) and I had been ignoring his calls and “that’s what you get”. I showed him my call record showing they hadn’t called me and, upon checking, it emerged he had written down the number from his office lady incorrectly and been calling the wrong number. At this point, I would have expected an apology and a change in attitude but the gentleman (I use this term very loosely) in the kiosk continued to be aggressive and insisted it was my fault because I should have kept ringing them to pay, despite being told I didn’t need to. I’m astounded this man has a customer facing role in any company. Finally, I emailed the owner of the company prior to reviewing to give him the opportunity to respond. However, his response was that I should be grateful that they allowed me to pay full price to go on the next tour. Baffled by this response but also now understand the company’s customer service ethos.

It was great to be able to go on this in my wheelchair( I can't transfer). The staff were lovely, with special thanks to Stephen who went all out to ensure we enjoyed our trip, showing us what a turn of speed Wizzy had! I felt very safe throughout and loved the panoramic views. seeing the seals was a bonus. We felt it was really good value and looking forward to going back when tide is higher.

Next Step Towards Sea Tours at Skegness

On Friday 23 rd  August 2013, William Searle, his wife Liz, daughters Aimee, Laura and Rachel plus friends and crew made a historic first car/passenger ferry crossing over the Wash to Skegness aboard his amphibious craft "Whizzy" leaving from Seatours Reception on Hunstanton Central Promenade at 9.00 arriving at Skegness beach around 11.00. The journey took 1 hour 57 minutes and 2 hours 5 minutes back. The Seatours car made the return journey by road, leaving at the same time as Wizzy the Wash Monster, and arrived approximately 10 minutes later than the boat.

WE BEAT IT!

Skegness Councillor Carl Macey started the initiative after a visit to Hunstanton when he had a sea tour and saw the potential for another visitor attraction for Skegness. He successfully promoted the idea to his fellow District and Town Councillors and this is the culmination of contacts through the summer.

The vessel is a unique example of very few which can land from the sea and onto a beach. It an ex-US Army LARC (Light Amphibious Resupply Craft) named "Wizzy" used in the Vietnam War in the 1960's powered by 2 - Cummins 300hp V8 diesels. Its sister vessel "Wiley" is hard at work in Hunstanton.

Owner, William Searle said "This tour is the final part of the feasibility study into starting a Seatours service in Skegness for 2014 season and acknowledged the enormous help, encouragement and enthusiasm from East Lindsey District Councillors and Officers, Skegness Town Councillors and Officers and the Skegness Hospitality Association which has been overwhelming and humbling. During the autumn we will be completing our assessments and very much hope these justify the project. The final decision is one for all the directors of Searles Leisure".

The transit to Skegness will be a symbolic first car/passenger ferry crossing over the Wash and could, hopefully lead to a cross wash passenger service. This is further into the future and would need financial sponsorship. Contact us here
