Because Universal Studios Japan is incredibly popular, it’s a good idea to buy your entry tickets in advance – and, if you choose to buy USJ Express Passes to help you jump the lines, buying early is essential as they sell out quickly. But where is the best place to buy your USJ tickets online?

Quick Summary
When I first wrote this post back in February 2023, my feeling was, that if you could get it to work, you were better off buying your Universal Studios tickets, particularly the Express Passes, directly from the USJ app – now I update it in January 2024, that’s no longer the case.
In 2023, only USJ let you pick the times of your entry for Super Nintendo World and other rides yourself. If you bought them from Klook, they were just allocated to you which didn’t always lead to the best options – but now, Klook does this too.
Klook also takes all foreign credit cards, has special packages that include Super Nintendo World without the need for an Express Pass, and lets you buy more tickets in one go.
There is still one caveat with Klook, which I’ll explain below, but generally, they would now be my go-to choice for buying both Universal Studios Japan Studio Passes and Express Passes.
The box above might be all you need to know in this post – but, if you do want more options, or need a bit of background before you jump into buying tickets, here’s what you need to know…
Where Can You Buy USJ Passes Online?
Pros and cons of each site, are you ready to buy, which is best for you to buy your tickets, can you buy from both sites.
You can either buy them directly from Universal Studios Japan on their website or app. Or, you can buy them from one of Universal Studios’ official third-party suppliers – there are a few of these, but, the main one for people in the US, UK, Australia, and New Zealand is the website Klook.
Both USJ and Klook have their pros and cons and we’ll go through those in a minute but before we do, here’s a quick explanation of some USJ lingo that you’ll need to understand to make sense of what we’re saying
The USJ Dictionary
Studio Pass – the entry pass you need to get into the Studios
Timed Entry – a slot during which you’re guaranteed entry to Super Nintendo World.
Express Pass – optional extra that lets you jump the queue at rides and offers timed entry to Super Nintendo World
If you want more detail on any of the above terms, check out our post on USJ tickets explained before you start the buying process so you know exactly what’s going on.
Buying From USJ Directly
Your booking is final. There are no worries about getting stock from a third party.
You can pick times for entry to Super Nintendo World and rides.
The big one is that the USJ app doesn’t take foreign-issued Visa or Mastercard. You can only pay via Apple Pay. Sometimes you’ll get Amex to work, but it can glitch.
You can’t buy more than four tickets at a time on the USJ app. It lets you try, but then it kicks you out at the last stage.
The app is originally in Japanese – unless you know how to fix it. If you don’t do this in advance, it can get very confusing.
Buying From Klook
Very user-friendly – once you’ve decided what pass you need ( we can help with that ) just click the button and buy in English.
All foreign credit cards are accepted.
You can book more than four tickets at once.
You can now select your time for rides
They can have extra special tickets – for example, you can book a ticket with an early entry option which gets you in the park 15 minutes earlier than everyone else – and, they also sell the Super Nintendo World + Studio Pass which offers a cheap (AU$30) add-on for timed entry for Super Nintendo World.
This gives you access to Super Nintendo World without having to pay for a full Express Pass. The allocation for this is limited though so you won’t see this every day – if you do see it and it fits your plans, snap it up quickly as it might be gone when you go back.
Find both of these options here.
Very occasionally, Klook takes a booking but then has to cancel it as all Express Passes have sold out before the paperwork has been finished. I’ve only seen this once or twice among hundreds of people buying from Klook, but, in the spirit of honesty (as I am a Klook affiliate) I just wanted to mention that it has happened.
Buying from USJ Direct
If you’re ready to buy….
Deciding which online seller to use is a matter of personal preference, both are legitimate and trustworthy, but, there are a few occasions when one might be better than the other for you. Here are a few scenarios that might help you decide…
Are You Okay with Apple Pay or Own an Amex card?
Then you’re fine to go with the USJ app or website or Klook – if you want to use another type of credit card directly though, then pick Klook to ensure it goes through.
Do You Only Have a Visa or Mastercard?
Then you’ll need to buy through Klook.
Do You Want the Cheapest Option to Get into Super Nintendo World?
Then buy your Studio Pass through Klook and pick the Super Nintendo World+ option for an extra AU$30.
This only offers you timed entry. It doesn’t let you jump the queue for any of the rides.
If the Super Nintendo World+ Option is already sold out, then consider buying the Early Entry option. This lets you get into the park 15 minutes earlier than everyone else giving you the chance to either rush to Super Nintendo World or activate timed entry on the app.
If none of this makes any sense, then go to our how to get into SNW where it’s all explained more fully.
Are You Going in Golden Week?
Then, I would, maybe, suggest buying directly from USJ.
As I said, I’ve seen one or two occasions where people have booked Express Passes via Klook, but they’ve not actually be able to meet the allocation and have to cancel the booking.
It’s very unlikely to happen on say, a random Wednesday in June – but, if you’re trying to visit on one of the incredibly popular times like Christmas or Golden Week, then, you might be better off going direct to USJ.
But if they have sold out then definitely try Klook as they might have tickets when USJ doesn’t.
If you’re now asking ‘What’s Golden Week’ – it’s one of the biggest Japanese holidays of the year and everything gets very busy. It occurs at the end of April each year. See what happened when we ended up in Tokyo in Golden Week here .
Are You Tech Savvy?
If you’re not, then go with Klook.
Trying to use both the USJ app and the website can be a bit fraught – the app has been known to go back to Japanese if you haven’t set it up correctly, and the website can throw up mysterious errors.
Plus, you’ll have master Apple Pay!
Klook is all in English, all the time!
Are You a Larger Family?
If you’re a group of more than four then it’s easier to buy all the tickets together via Klook.
Sometimes USJ might have Express Passes available and Klook won’t – or, vice versa. I’m on the USJ booking site now and there are a couple of days where USJ is saying they’ve exhausted their allocation, but Klook have passes – and so you might be wondering if you can buy your Studio Passes on one site and your Express Passes on the other.
You can. I did this on my last trip as I had a Klook discount for my Studio Pass, but I wanted to choose my times for my Express Pass on the USJ website and so, I combined the two.
Is Either Place Cheaper?
No, prices are the same – I’m looking at a Flying Dinosaur Express Pass 4 right now, exactly two months out and it’s AU$73.69 on Klook and 6800 yen on USJ – that works out at AU$73.55.
What if They are Both Sold Out?
Then, you could try one of the other official resellers – which include Rakutan JTB, HIS. Flight Centre and KKDay. They are linked to via the USJ site page here.
Can I Buy Tickets in Japan?
You can buy them via machines at Lawson convenience stores, but you’ll need help from someone who speaks Japanese, or try this guide – but, the chance of error is great so, I’d keep this as a last resort only.
Can’t I Just Turn Up on the Day?
If you just want a Studio Pass you can try.
Unlike Tokyo Disney, where you must book a date in advance, Universal Studio Passes are sold at ticket booths in the park – but you are unlikely to get an Express Pass if you don’t book it in advance.
And don’t forget if you want to guarantee you get into Super Nintendo World, at the time I write this, you need timed entry (see more about how to get into SNW if you don’t want to buy an Express Pass in this guide )
When Do Tickets Go on Sale?
Two months to the date of entry and, while you can buy Studio Passes close to the day, you need to buy Express Passes as close to that two-month date as you can to get the best choices of pass and time.
As I update this, there is a bit of variation on those timings – possibly related to the opening of Donkey Kong in USJ in Spring 2024, it’s always a good idea to just keep checking the allocations a week or two before you’re due to buy.
If you’re not sure what Express Pass to buy, have a look at our guide to whether you need one and how to pick the right one for you in our explainer guide to USJ Express Passes.
Hopefully, that helps clear things up for you, if not, ask any questions in the comments.

am confused on how the countdown party pass includes the timed entry since it is in the evening
It’s not something I’ve looked at, but I guess it works the same as in the day and means timed entry will be running late into the night. If that’s the NYE event then I’d guess it’s going to be very busy and so that’s why they are running it. But I might be wrong as I wouldn’t have thought that would be on sale yet.

Universal Studios Japan: the ever-evolving theme park
I'm not what you'd call a theme park nut. I've been to a few - mostly in Europe. I'm not a fan of stomach-churning rollercoasters designed to push you to your limits, but pretty much everything else I'm up for and enjoy.
But, if you do like stomach-churning rollercoasters, Universal Studios Japan has those . If you don't, there's still loads more worth visiting for.
I first visited Universal Studios Japan in 2002. Just past the 1st anniversary of its opening in March 2001. Here's my wife and I during that first visit - with Rocky the Flying Squirrel from Rocky and Bullwinkle .
Developers teamed up with key big names to ensure the reality matched their dreams for the park, including Shigeru Miyamoto creator of Mario and Creative Fellow at Nintendo and Mark Woodbury, President of Universal Creative.
Super Nintendo World comprises expansive and multilevel environments filled with state-of-the-art rides, interactive areas, restaurants and shops selling an array of gifts and souvenirs as brightly coloured as they are bountiful.

Latest Update: Jurassic Park closed for renovations until early 2025
USJ has announced major renovations to Jurassic Park - The Ride . These began on Monday, September 4, 2023, when the ride closed and it isn't expected to reopen until early 2025.
TIP: If you reserve an attraction, other reservations will be possible only after the reservation time of the already reserved attraction.
3.) Timed-Entry Tickets (The Wizarding World of Harry Potter/Super Nintendo World)
Have someone from your group take the Studio Passes of all the members of your group to the Timed-Entry Ticket booth in Central Park. Select you desired time of entry on the ticket machine to receive your Timed-Entry Ticket (one per group).
4.) Single Rider
By riding separate from your party, you can reduce waiting times. This service is not available on certain days or at certain hours during the day. For availability and other requirements, please ask a crew member at the attraction.
5.) Child Switch
A handy system allowing you to take turns to enjoy attractions that children cannot ride. It enables guests with children/companions who do not meet an attraction’s height or other requirements to take turns and enjoy the attraction without waiting in line again. Ask a staff member at the attraction for details.

Want to visit Universal Studios Japan but don't speak Japanese?
If you want to visit Universal Studios Japan and you don't speak Japanese you can learn more about my book How to Travel in Japan Without Speaking Japanese HERE .
Universal Studios Japan (USJ) was the first theme park under the Universal Studios brand to be built in Asia. Opened in 2001 in the Osaka Bay Area , the theme park has been expanded over the years and is one of the most visited amusement parks in Japan.
Universal Studios Japan currently has ten sections: Hollywood, New York, San Francisco, Jurassic Park, Waterworld, Amity Village, Universal Wonderland, Minion Park, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Super Nintendo World. Visitors are able to enjoy many amusement rides, ranging from child-friendly carousels to thrilling roller coasters and simulators based on popular movies such as the Minions, Shrek and Jurassic Park.
In addition to rides, the theme park offers many opportunities to take pictures with popular characters' mascots such as Snoopy, Hello Kitty and the Muppets. There are also various shows put on every day, including a night parade featuring illuminated floats.
Just outside the park's gates is Universal Citywalk Osaka , a shopping mall with multiple hotels and many restaurants and shops, including stores selling Universal Studios merchandise and Osaka souvenirs. Furthermore, the Osaka Takoyaki Museum, which is essentially a collection of several popular takoyaki vendors, is located on the mall's fourth floor.
Getting there and around
The park's entrance gate is located a five minute walk from Universal City Station on the JR Yumesaki Line (also referred to as JR Sakurajima Line). From Osaka Station , there are several direct trains per hour (15 minutes, 190 yen) and many more connections that require an easy transfer at Nishikujo Station. From Kansai Airport , take a JR airport rapid to Nishikujo Station and transfer to the JR Yumesaki Line to Universal City Station (75 minutes, 1210 yen).
Universal Studios Japan is connected by bus to Kansai Airport (50-70 minutes, 1800 yen, hourly) and Itami Airport (45 minutes, 940 yen, hourly). Some overnight buses from other cities across Japan also stop at the Universal Studios Japan.
A ferry service named "Captain Line" connects the Universal Studios Japan with the Osaka Aquarium (10 minutes, 900 yen one way, 1700 yen roundtrip, 1-2 ferries per hour). A combination ticket for the aquarium and the ferry ride can be purchased for 3400 yen (one way) or 4200 yen (roundtrip).

While planning our trip, I wondered if I would enjoy Universal Studios in Japan. The joy of my travelling is wandering with my dear husband. So I agreed to visit USJ for my better half. Is it worth going to Universal Studios Japan?
Do you like rides that make your heart race faster than a Tokyo bullet train? Do you enjoy immersing yourself in other worlds so completely that you forget you’re actually in Osaka? Waiting to meet some of the most beloved characters from movies and TV shows without having to deal with paparazzi or bodyguards?
Then you absolutely must visit USJ!
It’s the kind of place where you can scream your lungs out on roller coasters and munch on delicious food.
Those who don’t know what USJ is asked why two adults visited a theme park.
Perhaps the best part of Universal Studios Japan was the sheer joy of it all.
Universal Studios Japan: Where Dreams Come to Life for Fans of All Ages
Everywhere I looked, I saw smiling faces, both young and old, enjoying themselves to the fullest. Everyone was having a blast, whether it was taking selfies with Minions, chowing down on giant turkey legs, or screaming their lungs out on roller coasters. It was infectious and reminded me that sometimes, it’s good to let loose and just have fun.
From the moment I stepped through the gates, I didn’t know if I was on earth or another planet. It sounds like any other Universal Studios in the world. Isn’t it?
What is a fact about Universal Studios Japan?
World’s first and only Mario Nintendo world exists in USJ! Meeting Mario or Mario’s brothers and getting a hug from princess peach is exciting. And hitting the brick box, collecting coins, or wandering around the budding mushrooms makes you part of Mario’s world.
Another beauty of USJ is that the American-franchised theme park has a Japanese cultural twist. The park has an entire area dedicated to popular anime and manga series. In spiderman ride, he speaks Japanese!
Wait, there is more!
USJ conducts seasonal events unique to the park, such as the Halloween Horror Nights event and the Cool Japan event, showcasing Japanese pop culture. Then there are many souvenir shops where you can buy your favourite unique, high-quality (and expensive) merchandise.
It’s not just the rides and shows that make USJ special. The attention to detail and the immersive environments truly transport you to another world.
You get drinks in Matcha flavour. The burgers resemble Marios’s mushrooms. There is Minion Japanese Curry Omurice. You can get popcorn in “Lumas” – the star-like creatures!
Here is a pro tip – Visit Universal Studios in Japan, irrespective of your age!
How many attractions are at Universal Studios Japan?
Universal Studios Japan has over 30 attractions, including popular ones like The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Jurassic Park etc.
What does Japan Universal Studios have?
Other attractions are based on popular movies and characters, such as Minions, Snoopy, and the Spiderman Ride. The exact number of attractions may vary depending on how you define “attraction,” Some experiences may be considered as shows or exhibits rather than rides.
The park is divided into areas, with other attractions and rides in each area.
What is the best month to go to universal studios japan.
- You need no cherry blossom to beautify this place. But the entry ticket varies as per the season and day you visit.
- The golden weeks of late April-early May and Japan’s summer vacation of July to August are the most expensive and crowded times to visit USJ.
- The next expensive time of the year is December last week – due to Christmas and New Year’s.
- Best months to visit USJ – March and September to December 3rd week.
- January to March is cheaper and less crowded, but it can get very cold.
What is the best day to visit Universal Studios Japan?
It isn’t just tourists who love to visit USJ, but also Japan’s domestic tourists! So Saturday and Sunday will be flooded with people. Plus, entry tickets and express passe s cost you more on weekends.
Plan so that you visit in the middle of the week. Like, Tuesday and Wednesday.
How to buy USJ Tickets?
As much as I loved the vibe of USJ and enjoyed every bit of it, buying a ticket was challenging for various reasons. We tried to book on the USJ Official website because external agencies will cost you more. Trust me; the USJ website works as badly as the IRCTC website.
After a week of hunting, we figured out a legit website to buy the Universal Studio Japan Tickets on Rakuten.
It was easy, as there was no restriction on which card to use, and the customer service from Rakuten Travel Experience was super appropriate regarding which tickets to buy – because just the entrance ticket may not be enough for your USJ day!
After navigating through their official site, we chose our tickets and came to the checkout page only to know that you must pay using American Express Card only! And we didn’t have one!
What are the types of tickets you need for USJ?
You need an entrance ticket. You can buy a 1-day / 1.5-DAY / 2-DAY pass based on your preferences. This lets you enter & wander every corner of USJ. You can take the rides also with this -But you will have to wait in loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong waiting lines – As long as 120 minutes to get a ride.
A most useful tip for visiting Universal Studios Japan and skipping the lines is- Buy an express pass with an admission ticket.
Buy your USJ Entry ticket AKA day pass here
USJ Admission passes are Mandatory for every visitor. Without this, you can’t enter the park.
Buy your USJ Express pass here.
Upgrade your USJ experience with the Express Ticket, available for an extra fee on top of regular admission – Basically, Skip the line tickets to USJ areas included in the pass
What is Universal Studios Express Ticket?
This express ticket can significantly reduce wait time and allows you to experience more rides and attractions in a shorter amount of time.
The availability and pricing of the Universal Studios Japan Express Pass can vary by season and can be affected by park attendance levels. Therefore, it’s essential to check the availability and pricing of the pass before purchasing your admission ticket to ensure the pass suits your needs and budget.
The Universal Studios Japan Express Pass comes in different tiers – 4 and 7.
With each tier, access to different attractions changes or increases. So with 7 – Express Pass, you can skip lines at seven specific rides mentioned in the pass. Mind that some of this may have timed entries.
How much is the ticket for Universal Studios Japan?
For a Sunday ticket to USJ on December 3rd week of 2022, it cost us 51500 yen for two tickets.
- 2 admission tickets
- 2 Universal Express Pass 4:Fun Ride
- 2 Mario World Power-Up Band – More on this in the section below.
What is the difference between Studio Pass A and Studio Pass B?
The colour-coded alphabet labelled passes can confuse first-timers. It just signifies what date you’re visiting.
For example, without Studio Pass “B”, we could visit USJ on any calendar day labelled with “B” within the specified date. In a nutshell, the colour coding says –
- A with Green – Cheapest
- B with Orange – Middle
- C with Pink – Most expensive.
- D with Blue – less crowd, and price can vary.
How far in advance can you buy Universal Studios Japan tickets?
We thought it was the off-season for tourists in Japan, and we tried to book 15 days earlier for our trip. We were wrong!
By then, all the better combo express passes were sold out. We couldn’t get the admission ticket for a weekday. You must book at least a month prior.
Do you need printed tickets for USJ?
A printed ticket is optional to enter USJ. But it is better to have one- God knows how many pictures you will click as we did, and the phone battery will surely drain out faster. This will lead you to stand and wonder how to show your express pass at the rides! A print solves all this.
Can you do Universal Studios Japan in a day?
It depends on what you want to do. More than a day is needed if you plan to sit on each ride and experience all attractions. On the other hand, two days in USJ will be exhausting. Plus, you must consider the pricing of two days if you are on a tight budget like us.
If you wish to spend two days at USJ, staying at hotels right outside the entrance is better. They may be costlier. But, you will not lose time commuting.
Is 1 day enough for Universal Studios Japan?
Yes. You must spend one whole day seeing all the attractions and be part of a few rides if you have the express pass.
How to get to Universal Studio Osaka?
Hiring a taxi and self-driving would be the most expensive way to get to USJ. Plus, you will lose time in Osaka’s traffic.
Tips on Getting to Universal Studios in Osaka, Japan.
Taking the metro train is the easiest, cheapest and fastest way to get to USJ in Osaka. JR Yumesaki Line for Universal Studios Japan takes you to the wonderland of USJ. This line starts from Osaka station, takes 10 minutes and costs 180 yen (As of December 2022)
If you are in the other parts of the city like we were at Namba, you may have to transfer to JR Yumesaki Line at an intermediate station. For example, we took a train to Nishukujo and transferred to the Yumesaki line from there. Use Jorudan Transit Planner to check your particular routes.
Follow the sign and crowd from the station
A giant Gorilla hanging from the signpost welcomes you to an arcade of merchandise shops and eateries. A 200m walk takes you to the USJ Entrance.
Where do you fly into to get to Universal Studios Japan?
Osaka has two international airports – Kansai and Itami. Kansai has more international flight connectivity than the latter. There are direct buses from both airports to USJ. The journey takes approximately 1 hour.
Dos and Dont’s at USJ.
The rules to follow in USJ may not be plenty. Most rules are easy to follow and common to any other theme park worldwide.
What is not allowed in Universal Studios?
Any sharp objects, weapons, or explosive materials aren’t allowed. Your bags will be checked for inspection. But surprisingly, your monopods, tripods and selfie sticks aren’t allowed too – Imagine there will be lakhs of people inside. And you keep pricking people with selfies ticks – Good riddance.
You can click photos using phones and cameras. But it isn’t allowed during any rides.
You can’t take drones either – Think of a drone flying above a roller coaster and getting stuck in the track! So no flying drones inside USJ
Japan is pet friendly – I am sure having fun at USJ with your furry friends would be a delight. But it isn’t allowed. So make arrangements for your pets before you arrive. Or book the kennel service at USJ prior .
Oversized luggage must be kept in either USJ locker. But we recommend keeping it either in your room or the USJ metro station locker.
Can we bring food to Universal Studio Japan?
There is plenty of quirky food inside USJ, but the quirkiness comes with a cost. So if you bring food, eat it at the picnic area before entering the park. Or have a whole jiggly cheesecake at the most famous place in Osaka before you arrive at USJ, as we did.
Can I wear a dress to Universal Studio?
Yes, you may! But ask yourself if it is appropriate for the weather. And is it comfortable enough for you to jump around, sit on a roller coaster and be part of rides that rotate your body in more than 360-degree angles? Plus, you spend more time outdoors. It can get windy.
So I recommend wearing shorts in summer and layered full-length pants with warm jackets for December.
Some rides go along with water. So you must be prepared to deal with it later.
Is it allowed to wear Costumes in Universal Studios Japan?
Yes totally! We saw two people dressed like Mario brothers. Some kids wore totally Minion outfit. For winter, spiderman outfit seemed to be kid’s favourite. Many adults wore Shark costumes. And there was thousands of people like us who wore hats or scrafs from a character and not an entire outfit.
As long as your costumes aren’t revealing, you can wear anything you want. (I have read stories where people tried to enter USJ with skimpy clothes and were denied of entry)
Can you go to Universal Studios Japan without knowing Japanese?
All the signboards in USJ are in English and Japanese both. So you get to hear Japanglish and read ultra-detailed signboards in English. All staff at USJ speak English well enough to help visitors. Knowing at least the basic Japanese phrases can take a long way, though.
5 Things we loved most at USJ.
Actually, we loved the vibe and atmosphere more than anything. I don’t recall seeing anyone unhappy. Every staff was smiling, helping and excited as if it was their first time in USJ. So kudos to the people who make USJ “The happiest man-made place on Earth.”
When it comes to the attractions of USJ – There wasn’t even a single poring place.
I have motion sickness, and roller coasters can make me throw up like a monster. So I can’t tell you anything about which ride was the best. But the attractions evoked a lot of childhood memories in me!
Here are our top 5 favourites of Universal Studios, along with tips for visiting them.
1. The Jurassic World.
Being a dinosaur fan since the Jurassic park film was released in 1993 (I was 4!), the Jurassic world at USJ reminded me of my Grandfather! We had watched the movie together, and he used to mispronounce dinosaurs as “Dino-doar” because of his lisp.
The attraction features life-sized animatronic dinosaurs that move, make sounds, and even breathe, creating a realistic and immersive experience. It is a fun place to watch small kids getting scared and screaming, thinking the dinosaurs are alive.
2. Minion world.
With a four-year-old niece back in India, I have listened to the “Banana” song by minions a billion times, and I am quite annoyed with it because of “over-listening”. But living with minions for a few minutes was hilarious.
The experience begins with witty ride instructions where minions warn you of their process of converting you into a minion, including many twists and turns that may affect people with motion sickness.
I thought I should try it even if I puked post-ride – because we entered the minion world at the day’s end.
Then you are taken further and made to sit inside a capsule with 5 more humans.
Gru and his army of minions take you on a wild and wacky adventure that’s sure to have you laughing and screaming all at once. From banana peels to giant robots, this ride is packed with all the crazy antics and quirky humour we’ve come to expect from these lovable little creatures.
FYI – I felt a lot weird during the ride – But I didn’t puke. A soup from the cart outside the minion world reset my stomach.
3. Spiderman.
Get ready to sling your way through the streets of New York City on the Spiderman ride at Universal Studios Japan! This ride will spin your senses with its high-tech 3D visuals, heart-pumping drops, and crazy twists and turns.
You’ll feel like you’re flying through the air alongside spiderman, battling villains and saving the city from danger. But don’t worry; you won’t need spidey sense to enjoy this ride – just a sense of adventure and a willingness to have some web-slinging fun! The best part is, spiderman at USJ speaks Japanese!
I really thought I had a web left over my body at the end of the ride! I even smiled at the photo when spiderman clicked a photo after he caught us with the web and said, “Haiyaaa, say Cheese.”
4. The wizarding world of Harry Potter
Perhaps this is the most popular attraction of Univer Studios Japan for all the right reasons.
Is there a Harry Potter world in Japan?
Yes, and it is magical!
From the cobblestone streets of Hogsmeade to the towering spires of Hogwarts castle, it’s like stepping into the pages of the books (or the frames of the movies). The white thing on the steeply sloped roof looked like real snow. Somwhoe I even thought of England’s charming Coltswood too!
A pro tip to visit Harry potter world in Universal Studios Japan :
You must enjoy the architectural detailing during daylight. To feel Hogwarts, you must go there after dark.
I got to sip butterbeer. And Ashrith got to cast spells with the interactive wand he bought at the store. Just ensure you follow the pattern on the floor when you move your hands. If you imitate the pattern perfectly, better the performance of your spells.
If you have an express pass or are okay with waiting in line, you can even ride the Hogwarts Express.
5. The best of all attractions in Universal Studios Japan – Mario Nintendo World.
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, gamers and non-gamers alike, let me tell you about a place where magic and technology collide, mushrooms grow to enormous sizes, turtles throw fireballs, and where you can live out your wildest video game dreams-I’m talking about the one and only Nintendo World!
Is there a Mario World in Japan?
Yes! As of now, it is the world’s only Nintendo world.
Nintendo World is home to some truly immersive rides and experiences. We got to ride on Yoshi’s Adventure;
Yoshi’s adventure is the opposite of all the other rides of USJ – a gentle but charming and calm ride through a vibrant world filled with shy guys, flowers, and Yoshis.
Entering Super Mario world japan
It was like stepping into the Mushroom Kingdom itself. Everywhere I looked, there were nods and references to classic Nintendo games, from giant Piranha Plants to Power-Up Mushrooms. I half-expected to see Mario himself strolling down the street, jumping on Goombas and collecting coins along the way.
Why is Universal Studios Japan famous?
USJ is famous for its interactive experiences. Especially in the Nintendo world, You can wield a real-life Piranha Plant and chomp down on virtual coins in the Kinopio’s Cafe game. Then you can try your hand at the Power-Up Band Challenge, where you collect virtual coins and power-ups by waving your arm like a madman. It was like being inside a video.
Things to know about Super Nintendo World’s Power-Up Bands
Super Nintendo World’s Power-Up Bands are a key part of the immersive experience. Here are a few things you should know about them:
What are Power-Up Bands?
These wristbands are designed to be worn while exploring the park and interacting with various elements of the environment.
What do they do?
They allow visitors to collect virtual coins, participate in challenges, and unlock hidden surprises as they explore the world of Super Mario.
How do they work?
You can simply tap their bands on certain objects, such as question mark blocks, to trigger various effects and activities.
How much do they cost?
As of December 2022, the Power-Up Bands cost 3,800 yen. They are available for purchase at various locations throughout Super Nintendo World. But these kiosks can get crowded. So buy these while purchasing your admission and Express tickets.
Can I keep the band?
Yes, you can keep Power-Up Bands as a souvenir as we did. However, the bands are only designed to work within the park, so they cannot be used for any other purposes or activities outside of Super Nintendo World.
Overall, the Super Mario Nintendo world makes Universal Studios Japan unique. Seeing Mario characters, princess peach and going on Yoshi’s adventure is one of the highlights of our 19 days Japan trip.

Hi. I think a small correction, all the dates seem to be Dec 2023. It might be better to change them to Dec 2022. Otherwise very informative.
Hello Anusuya. Looks like I did “Time-Travel.” Thank you for letting me know, and I stand corrected 🙂

- Which Universal Studios Japan Attractions To Visit Based on Your Kind of Adventure
Whether you’re a first-time or repeat traveler to Osaka , a visit to Universal Studios Japan is definitely a must. The amusement park, which opened in 2001, is one of the country’s most popular tourist attractions, housing 10 themed ‘worlds’ inspired by movies, games, and filming locations associated with Universal Studios.
Universal Studios Japan definitely has something for everyone. But with an array of attractions to explore, it may be hard to know where to go first. So, here’s a list of the best activities to add to your Universal Studios Japan must-do list based on your personality.
1. For the gaming fan: explore Super Nintendo World™
As the newest area in Universal Studios Japan, Super Nintendo World™ is a must-visit for all game lovers. The area transports you to the Mushroom Kingdom of Super Mario with familiar elements and characters from this world-famous franchise.
With a Power-Up Band™ that you can purchase in carts and shops in Super Nintendo World, you can interact with various objects in the area and collect coins — making you feel like you’ve really jumped into the game. You can also experience what it feels like to be a Mario Kart: Koopa's Challenge™ racer or just have a relaxing tour of the kingdom with Yoshi’s Adventure . Lastly, don’t forget to check out Kinopio’s Cafe™ for some treats and buy some souvenirs at the merchandise shop to complete your experience!
2. For the adrenaline junkie: go for a round at Jurassic Park - The Ride
Following the concept of its namesake film, Jurassic Park - The Ride takes you on an exciting boat ride along Jurassic Park. The relaxing trip takes a sharp turn when one of the park’s aggressive T-rexes escapes, leaving guests on a blood-pumping chase against the raging dinosaur. Aside from the realistic effects and animatronics guests will encounter during the ride, the boat also hits a thrilling 25.9-meter drop, marking the end of the ride and a successful escape from the dinosaur. Pro tip: There’s a big chance you’ll get splashed with a lot of water, so bring a raincoat or extra clothes!
If the rush of Jurassic Park - The Ride not enough to get your blood racing, hop aboard The Flying Dinosaur , where a Pteranodon takes you for an exhilarating ride through a steel-flying rollercoaster that goes through the entire Jurrasic World area in 360 degrees.
3. For the Potterhead: have a magical time at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™
Pull out your wand, dress in your House colors, and unleash the Potterhead in you at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ .
Join Harry, Ron, and Hermione in Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey™ — an immersive ride that will take you all around Hogwarts. You can also explore the magical stores in Hogsmeade™ and grab your own interactive wand at Ollivanders™ wand shop. These interactive wands can actually cast spells around the village, letting you experience what it feels like to be a witch or wizard. Before you leave, don’t forget to have your fill of (non-alcoholic) Butterbeer like a true Hogwarts student.
4. For the pop-culture super fan: catch your favorite characters at the No Limit! Parade
Get ready with your cameras, special Bubble Wand, and character headbands to celebrate your love for pop culture characters in the No Limit! Parade . The parade features crowd-favorites like Super Mario, Pikachu and other Pokemon, the Minions, Hello Kitty, Snoopy, and more. Bright, colorful floats and exciting performances are the highlights of this parade, with the parade music inviting you to move to the beat.
5. For the kids and kids-at-heart: playful mayhem at Minion Park
Kids and kids-at-heart will love this Universal Studios Japan attraction that’s inspired by the playful and lovable Minions. Win a stuffed toy featuring Despicable Me! characters like Agnes at arcade games like Space Killer or Banana Cabana , where you need to collapse coins or flip bananas. Unleash your inner mastermind by competing against Minions and their schemes in Despicable Me : Minion Mayhem and Freeze Ray Sliders . Don’t forget to take home delicious treats and cute memorabilia featuring these chaotically cute creatures from the merchandise shops and stalls like POP-A-NANA and Sweet Surrender .
Upcoming Limited Time Events You Can’t Miss
Aside from the familiar attractions seen in other Universal Studios, Universal Studios Japan features seasonal themed attractions unique to Japan. Previous time-limited attractions included famous works such as Spy x Family , Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba , Attack On Titan , and Sailor Moon . Here are some of the themed attractions you can’t miss if you’re visiting Universal Studios Japan in the latter half of 2023:
- Monster Hunter World: Iceborn XR Walk: January 21, 2022 - August 31, 2023
- Jujutsu Kaisen: The Real 4-D: September 16, 2022 - November 2023

Tips to Make the Most Out of Your Universal Studios Japan Experience
Booking Tickets
- Try to schedule your visit during regular weekdays instead of weekends and public holidays (like Golden Week) to avoid congested crowds.
- For smoother entry, you can also reserve tickets in advance online at https://www.usjticketing.com/ .
- Universal Express Passes can also be purchased beforehand to cut the waiting time in lines for certain attractions inside the park. Note that this pass requires separate payment from the Studio Pass (for entry to Universal Studios Japan). For more information, visit https://www.usj.co.jp/web/en/us/tickets/express-pass#howtouse .
- For popular attractions like Super Nintendo World and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™, area-timed entry tickets are occasionally required to avoid congestion. These tickets can be secured in designated areas inside the park and are free of charge. Area-timed entry tickets can also be secured through Universal Studio Japan’s official app.
Park Attraction Tips
- Universal Studios Japan’s official app is a must-download! The app provides useful information on how timed-entry ticketing for certain attractions work; a live update of the estimated waiting time for each ride; detailed information about the attractions, shows, restaurants, and shops; the Universal Studios Japan park map, and more. For more information, click here .
- Make sure to check the app or the website beforehand for the park’s show and parade schedules so you don’t miss them.
- Some Universal Studios Japan rides tend to focus on solo experiences (i.e. Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem, Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, Mario Kart: Koopa’s Challenge, to name a few) so it’s advised to go for the Single Rider lines instead of the group lines to shorten your queue waiting time.
- There are many unique food items available at Universal Studios Japan (mostly themed around your favorite characters) so it is best to dine in the park’s in-house restaurants and food stalls.
- Wheelchairs and strollers may be rented within the park for a certain fee.

Everyone’s favorite long-haired ghost Sadako has even crawled out of the TV right into USJ for her own haunted attraction. There’s trick or treating and a costume parade for the kiddies, or adult scaredy cats, too. Check the official website for a full list of attractions.
Spiderman, dinosaurs, and Jaws, oh my!
For the thrill-seekers, it would be a waste to leave USJ without trying classic rides like Jaws or the more modern, adrenaline-pumping Jurassic Park roller coaster: The Flying Dinosaur.
Marvel fans, make a bee-line for The Amazing Adventures of Spiderman. Winning the world’s best ride award for seven years in a row, this immersive and mind-bending experience never fails to live up to expectations.
The Amazing Adventures of Spiderman has been awarded the world’s best ride award for seven years in a row.
If even the idea of roller coasters make you feel queasy or you’ll be traveling with people who don’t quite fit the height limits (children, we’re looking at you), there are plenty of things for you to do too. Take The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

Hogsmeade truly comes to life in this stunning recreation from the popular franchise.
A Guide to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter
Rides like Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey or Flight of the Hippogryph often have lengthy wait times. This is for good reason: short of receiving your letter to Hogwarts, it’s the closest muggles like us can get.
Those more into cute and peppy characters than death eaters will love Universal Wonderland.
Photo by: mono There’s Hello Kitty, Minions, and Sesame Street for the kids!
Attractions themed around Snoopy, Hello Kitty and Sesame Street make this area is perfect for children and adults alike. Stage shows and parades abound throughout the day.
Like Minions? Those yellow critters can be found traveling around the park averting emergencies and rescuing damsels in distress. Want your day to end with a bang? The Universal Re-Born parade offers party-streamers, bubbles and fun by the gallon.

11 BEST RIDES at Universal Studios Japan – for every taste
You can’t visit Osaka without spending a day at the world-famous Universal Studios Japan. I’ve been to Disneyland before but never visited one of the Universal Parks.
For me, spending the day at USJ was one of the highlights of my trip to Japan. Incredible roller-coasters, famous characters, and delicious food are just some of the things that you’ll find at this awesome theme park.
If you want to spend one day at Universal Studios Japan and you want to find out which are the best rides, you’re in the right place. In this article, I’m dividing the USJ rides into three categories: thrill rides, family rides, and kids rides .
-> Are you planning to explore Osaka? Here are some free things to do in the city .
But before finding out which rides suit your needs best, there are some things that you should know before visiting USJ. Read carefully the next chapter and you’ll have an awesome experience at one of the most popular theme parks in the world!
1. Universal Studios Japan tickets
I highly recommend buying tickets in advance in order to avoid huge queues on the day you want to visit. Unfortunately, you can’t buy tickets directly from the USJ website so I recommend using a trusted re-seller such as Klook (this is one of the re-sellers recommended on the official USJ website).
Once you get your ticket, make sure to add an Express Pass to your cart . I can’t stress enough how busy Universal Studios Japan is and you don’t want to wait for hours in queues instead of having fun on the rides. You’ll find more details about the express pass at the end of this guide.
No time to read now? Pin it for later!
2. Universal Studios Japan tips & tricks
- you’re not allowed to bring food and drinks with you. Bring some cash to buy some snacks inside the park.
- the best days to visit Universal Studios Japan are Wednesdays and Thursdays. The weekends are notoriously crowded.
- for those who want to spend more than a day at USJ, there is a 1.5 day pass . You are allowed to enjoy the rides starting at 3 pm on the first day until the end of the second day.
- make sure to arrive at least half an hour before the park opens.
- take advantage of the single rider lanes. It basically means that you’ll be placed randomly on the ride but you’ll save some time which is awesome.
- while exploring the world of Harry Potter, make sure to try the butterbeer.
- if you want to feel the magic of Hogwarts, make sure to visit the castle after the sunset. The view is simply magical.
-> Are you planning to explore more of Japan? Read this awesome itinerary !
3. The best Thrill Rides at Universal Studios Japan
Are you ready to feel the adrenaline rush? The following rides are for you! Universal Studios Japan is well known for its thrill rides and with so many great options, it’s easy to see why.
I’ve tried almost all the Universal Studios Japan attractions and below are the ultimate thrill rides!
-> Get the best price for USJ tickets here!!!
- The Flying Dinosaur
This over-the-top thrilling experience is exactly what makes USJ so famous. The Flying Dinosaur is the best roller-coaster at Universal Studios Japan and I recommend getting there early or getting an express pass if you don’t want to wait 3 hours to enjoy it.
The Flying Dinosaur will take you through the world of Jurassic Park in an incredible 3-minutes journey. Once you sit down, the seat will turn 90 degrees and you’ll end up face-down with nothing but air between you and the ground.
The ride is fast, confusing, and extremely fun if you’re adventurous. For me, The Flying Dinosaur will forever be my favorite roller-coaster in the world! Are you ready?
Hollywood Dream
Another popular attraction at Universal Studios Japan is the Hollywood Dream roller-coaster. This is one of the traditional roller-coasters that you’ll find in any theme park.
Be prepared to cut through the wind on this sensational ride and enjoy a steep and thrilling drop. A nice touch is that you can select a song that will play during the ride. I chose Michael Jackson – Bad because I felt indestructible on this roller-coaster.
If you’re looking for more adrenaline, make sure to also try Hollywood Dream – The Ride – Backdrop. It’s basically the same ride but you’ll be seating backward. You never know what awaits you!
Jurassic Park – The Ride
Speaking about the best thrill rides at Universal Studios Japan, we can’t skip Jurassic Park – The Ride. You’ll start the adventure on a mechanical boat and even thought the beginning of the ride seems peaceful, nothing can prepare you for the end.
I’m not gonna tell you what happens because I don’t want to ruin the surprise. Here is a hint – while the dinosaurs are fascinating, be aware of your surroundings and where the boat takes you.
-> To enjoy all these rides, buy your ticket in advance!
4. The best Family Rides at Universal Studios Japan
We’ve talked a lot about thrill rides and some of you might be visiting USJ with your family. In this section, I’m going to share with you which are the best rides for families at Universal Studios Japan.
Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey
The journey itself until reaching the ride is fascinating. You will have to walk through Hogwarts and you’ll have the chance to see Dumbledore’s office, some of the classrooms and the Room of Requirement.
Once the ride starts, immerse yourself into the ultra-realistic world of Harry Potter without 3D glasses. Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey is one of the best rides at Universal Studios Osaka and the perfect choice for couples and families.
Sit comfortably in your chair while you’re playing Quiddich, walk through the Forbidden Forest or fly above the Hogwarts Castle. For a Harry Potter fan, this is the ultimate ride!
Good to know: children must be at least 122 cm tall.
Flight of the Hippogriff
Have you ever dreamed of meeting a Hippogriff? Now you have the chance. This family-friendly roller-coaster will take you on a journey around Hagrid’s home.
This ride is perfect for kids and families due to its low-intensity track. Sit back and enjoy a relaxing yet fascinating journey into Harry Potter’s world.
-> Read more about Japan here
Good to know: Unaccompanied children must be at least 122 cm. Accompanied children must be at least 92 cm.
Head to Amity Village and hop on the Jaws ride. What starts as a quiet boat ride will suddenly turn into a nightmare when the huge man-eating shark appears.
The boatman will do anything in his power to get you out safe. Just do what he says! I loved the Jaws ride and its decor. It looked super-realistic and well-executed. This is definitely one of the top rides at Universal Studios Japan.
The Amazing Adventures of Spider Man
Put on your glasses and enjoy an incredible 3D experience. What I loved about this ride is how real everything felt. The images and special effects are great!
This ride will make you feel like a part of the world-famous story. The Amazing Adventures of Spider Man is a great attraction for families and I’m sure you’ll have lots of fun!
Good to know: kids must be at least 122 cm tall if unaccompanied or 102 cm tall if accompanied.
5. The best Kids Rides at Universal Studios Japan
Do you have a small child but still want to go to Universal Studios Japan? Don’t worry, there are plenty of rides for small children around the park. Below are the best rides for kids at USJ. Enjoy!
Despicable Me Minion Mayhem
Despicable Me Minion Mayhem is the second most popular attraction in the park and there are huge lines. Make sure to get an express pass to save some hours.
Located in the Minion Park, this ride is truly spectacular. Get ready for a 3D experience (without glasses) which will last for about 25 minutes. The whole story presented is truly captivating and fascinating.
If you have motion sickness, you might want to avoid this ride.
Good to know: if unaccompanied, kids must be 122 cm tall. If accompanied, kids must be 102 cm tall.
Snoopy Studios
There are three rides at Snoopy Studios USJ, perfect for kids – The Flying Snoopy, Snoopy’s Great Race, and Snoopy Sound Stage Adventure.
A ride on The Flying Snoopy will take you above the clouds. Snoopy’s Great Race is a kids-friendly roller-coaster which will take you on a ride in your favorite character’s world. If you want to meet Snoopy and his friends, make sure to stop at the Sound Stage Adventure. Kids will love it!
Sesame Street
The TV series Sesame Street has fans all over the world. There are countless rides and attractions at the Sesame Street area at Universal Studios Japan that will delight the kids.
Some of them are Elmo’s Go-Go Skateboard, Sesame’s Big Drive or the Cookie Monster Slide. I am sure that kids will have tons of fun here! This is one of the kids-friendly rides at Universal Studios Japan.
Hello Kitty
Explore the Hello Kitty store and buy some cute souvenirs for your kids and loved ones back home. Hello Kitty is the most famous cat in the world and everybody loves her!
You can even attend the Hello Kitty cupcake party in a unique ride, perfect for small children and why not, their parents.
6. Things to know before visiting Universal Studios Japan
USJ is a huge amusement park and it welcomes more than 8 million visitors per year. To put that into perspective, it means that more than 20,000 people visit this park daily.
This is why, apart from the admission ticket I recommend getting an express pass which will allow you to skip the line. The park is very busy and some queues might take up to three and a half hours during peak hours. If you plan to make the most out of your time and enjoy as many rides as possible, an express pass is a must.
Good to know: Express Passes get sold out weeks in advance during peak season. Make sure to buy yours well in advance.
There are three types of express passes, depending on the rides they cover:
- USJ Express Pass 7
USJ Express Pass 7 is the best pass because it includes many popular rides which usually have endless queues. You’ll save up a lot of time by choosing this pass. It’s perfect for families or couples who want a mix of fun and thrill rides.
There are 4 types of Express Pass 7 . All of them include 6 fixed rides plus one more ride of your choice. The 6 fixed rides are Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, Flight of the Hippogriff, Despicable Me Minion Mayhem, The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man or Jaws, Hollywood Dream or Backdraft, and Jurassic Park – The Ride or Terminator.
Therefore, you may choose for an additional ride as follows:
- Space Fantasy The Ride
- SING on Tour
If you ask me, I would totally go for the Flying Dinosaur. It is by far the best roller-coaster I’ve ever tried and it’s the perfect choice for those looking for a drop of adventure mixed with adrenaline.
- USJ Express Pass 4
If you’re on a budget and don’t want to overspend, I recommend getting the USJ Express Pass 4 . You’ll have 3 fixed rides included and these are Despicable Me Minion Mayhem, The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man or Jurassic Park – The Ride, and Terminator or Backdraft.
Additionally, you can choose one of the following attractions:
- Minion Ride
- Space Fantasy – The Ride
USJ Express Pass 4 is a great choice if you want to enjoy the best rides in the park without overspending. If you’re looking for a thrilling ride, I recommend choosing the Flying Dinosaur. If you’re into Minions, choose the Minion Ride.
- USJ Express Pass 3
USJ Express Pass 3 includes skip-the-line tickets to only 3 rides inside the park and it’s the cheapest alternative. If you have a little money to spare, I definitely recommend going for the Express Pass 4 or 7.
Here are the rides included in the Express Pass 3 :
- Jurassic Park – The Ride or Jaws or Backdraft
Good to know: One thing you have to keep in mind is that some of the passes change during the year so it’s best to check them out here before deciding which one to buy.
7. How to get to Universal Studios Japan
The fastest way to get from Osaka to Universal Studios Japan is to take the JR Yumesaki Line (also known as JR Sakurajima Line) to Universal City Station. From there, you’ll have to walk for about 30 minutes to the park entrance. With a JR Pass , you’ll save tons of money!
Alternatively, you can take the bus from Osaka to USJ. You can find more details here .
To read more about how to get to USJ, click here .
8. Where to stay in Osaka
Osaka is a big city and finding the perfect accommodation might prove challenging. I’ve searched for the best hotels for every budget and below are my recommendations:
- Budget – Hokko Marina – good location, very clean, super-friendly staff
- Mid Budget – Chuan House – excellent location, beautiful studio apartment, very clean & modern, friendly staff
- Luxury – St Regis Osaka – excellent location, luxurious and comfortable rooms with a view over the city, excellent service & staff
A day trip to Universal Studios Japan will make you feel like a child again. Enjoy all the rides and make sure to book your entry ticket in advance. To save time, don’t forget about the express pass or else be prepared for long queues.
Out of all these awesome Universal Studios Japan rides, which is your favorite? Let me know in the comments section below! Also, if you’re planning to visit Tokyo, don’t forget about Tokyo DisneySea !

Universal Studios Japan is getting a crazy new Minions hotel room
The colourful room at Hotel Universal Port is inspired by the theme park from Despicable Me
Universal Studios Japan has already surprised fans with several new attractions as part of Universal Cool Japan initiative , but now the park is getting a brand new Despicable Me themed hotel room, scheduled to open on July 15. In addition to the two Minions rooms that were installed in 2016 and 2017, Hotel Universal Port is now getting a room inspired by the Super Silly Funland amusement park from the original Despicable Me movie.
Here’s a sneak peek of the new room.
The entire interior of this zany room is decked out in wallpaper showing the fictional theme park, so you can pretend you’ve got all the rides to yourself.
Speaking of rides, the four-person bunk bed is designed to look like the roller coaster featured in the film. Plus, it’s got yellow Minions themed sheets.
Meanwhile, the TV stand looks just like the Space Killer game that Margo, Edith and Agnes play.
In the bathroom, you’ll find a funhouse-style mirror and illustrations of Minions plastered on the wall.
Make sure to look at the small details, too – like this lamp that looks like a creature from the film series.
There are a total of ten Minions and Despicable Me rooms available per day, and reservations open from June 14 via the Hotel Universal Port website , and June 16 on other booking websites including Jalan and Rakuten Travel . A room can host up to four people and starts at ¥21,000 per person, including breakfast.

New Video Shows Possible POV For Epic Universe Donkey Kong Coaster Coming Soon
U niversal Orlando and Universal Studios Japan will get the new Donkey Kong land area added to their parks. USJ is almost ready for a Spring 2024 opening, but Epic Universe at Universal Orlando won’t open until 2025.
The new coaster called “Donkey Kong Mine Cart Madness” is a Boom Coaster utilizing a cantilever technology that makes it appear that the ride vehicle is on the track, but it is actually not. This allows the vehicle to “jump” over obstacles and even onto other tracks.
So this is an animation someone did based on rumors from Orlando Park Stop and the aerial images of construction on the coaster posted by @bioreconstruct on Twitter.
Take a look!
I wonder how close this will be to the actual attraction?
Here is a video of ride testing in Japan where you can watch the ride vehicle jump the track.
Here is a clip showcasing the steam effects from the coaster..
What do you think? Are you excited about the upcoming coaster?
Comment and let us know!

WGS 84 coordinate reference system is the latest revision of the World Geodetic System, which is used in mapping and navigation, including GPS satellite navigation system (the Global Positioning System).
Geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude) define a position on the Earth’s surface. Coordinates are angular units. The canonical form of latitude and longitude representation uses degrees (°), minutes (′), and seconds (″). GPS systems widely use coordinates in degrees and decimal minutes, or in decimal degrees.
Latitude varies from −90° to 90°. The latitude of the Equator is 0°; the latitude of the South Pole is −90°; the latitude of the North Pole is 90°. Positive latitude values correspond to the geographic locations north of the Equator (abbrev. N). Negative latitude values correspond to the geographic locations south of the Equator (abbrev. S).
Longitude is counted from the prime meridian ( IERS Reference Meridian for WGS 84) and varies from −180° to 180°. Positive longitude values correspond to the geographic locations east of the prime meridian (abbrev. E). Negative longitude values correspond to the geographic locations west of the prime meridian (abbrev. W).
UTM or Universal Transverse Mercator coordinate system divides the Earth’s surface into 60 longitudinal zones. The coordinates of a location within each zone are defined as a planar coordinate pair related to the intersection of the equator and the zone’s central meridian, and measured in meters.
Elevation above sea level is a measure of a geographic location’s height. We are using the global digital elevation model GTOPO30 .

Savvino-storozhevsky monastery and museum.
Zvenigorod's most famous sight is the Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery, which was founded in 1398 by the monk Savva from the Troitse-Sergieva Lavra, at the invitation and with the support of Prince Yury Dmitrievich of Zvenigorod. Savva was later canonised as St Sabbas (Savva) of Storozhev. The monastery late flourished under the reign of Tsar Alexis, who chose the monastery as his family church and often went on pilgrimage there and made lots of donations to it. Most of the monastery’s buildings date from this time. The monastery is heavily fortified with thick walls and six towers, the most impressive of which is the Krasny Tower which also serves as the eastern entrance. The monastery was closed in 1918 and only reopened in 1995. In 1998 Patriarch Alexius II took part in a service to return the relics of St Sabbas to the monastery. Today the monastery has the status of a stauropegic monastery, which is second in status to a lavra. In addition to being a working monastery, it also holds the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum.
Belfry and Neighbouring Churches
Located near the main entrance is the monastery's belfry which is perhaps the calling card of the monastery due to its uniqueness. It was built in the 1650s and the St Sergius of Radonezh’s Church was opened on the middle tier in the mid-17th century, although it was originally dedicated to the Trinity. The belfry's 35-tonne Great Bladgovestny Bell fell in 1941 and was only restored and returned in 2003. Attached to the belfry is a large refectory and the Transfiguration Church, both of which were built on the orders of Tsar Alexis in the 1650s.
To the left of the belfry is another, smaller, refectory which is attached to the Trinity Gate-Church, which was also constructed in the 1650s on the orders of Tsar Alexis who made it his own family church. The church is elaborately decorated with colourful trims and underneath the archway is a beautiful 19th century fresco.
Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral
The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is the oldest building in the monastery and among the oldest buildings in the Moscow Region. It was built between 1404 and 1405 during the lifetime of St Sabbas and using the funds of Prince Yury of Zvenigorod. The white-stone cathedral is a standard four-pillar design with a single golden dome. After the death of St Sabbas he was interred in the cathedral and a new altar dedicated to him was added.
Under the reign of Tsar Alexis the cathedral was decorated with frescoes by Stepan Ryazanets, some of which remain today. Tsar Alexis also presented the cathedral with a five-tier iconostasis, the top row of icons have been preserved.
Tsaritsa's Chambers
The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is located between the Tsaritsa's Chambers of the left and the Palace of Tsar Alexis on the right. The Tsaritsa's Chambers were built in the mid-17th century for the wife of Tsar Alexey - Tsaritsa Maria Ilinichna Miloskavskaya. The design of the building is influenced by the ancient Russian architectural style. Is prettier than the Tsar's chambers opposite, being red in colour with elaborately decorated window frames and entrance.
At present the Tsaritsa's Chambers houses the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum. Among its displays is an accurate recreation of the interior of a noble lady's chambers including furniture, decorations and a decorated tiled oven, and an exhibition on the history of Zvenigorod and the monastery.
Palace of Tsar Alexis
The Palace of Tsar Alexis was built in the 1650s and is now one of the best surviving examples of non-religious architecture of that era. It was built especially for Tsar Alexis who often visited the monastery on religious pilgrimages. Its most striking feature is its pretty row of nine chimney spouts which resemble towers.

The Unique Burial of a Child of Early Scythian Time at the Cemetery of Saryg-Bulun (Tuva)
<< Previous page
Pages: 379-406
In 1988, the Tuvan Archaeological Expedition (led by M. E. Kilunovskaya and V. A. Semenov) discovered a unique burial of the early Iron Age at Saryg-Bulun in Central Tuva. There are two burial mounds of the Aldy-Bel culture dated by 7th century BC. Within the barrows, which adjoined one another, forming a figure-of-eight, there were discovered 7 burials, from which a representative collection of artifacts was recovered. Burial 5 was the most unique, it was found in a coffin made of a larch trunk, with a tightly closed lid. Due to the preservative properties of larch and lack of air access, the coffin contained a well-preserved mummy of a child with an accompanying set of grave goods. The interred individual retained the skin on his face and had a leather headdress painted with red pigment and a coat, sewn from jerboa fur. The coat was belted with a leather belt with bronze ornaments and buckles. Besides that, a leather quiver with arrows with the shafts decorated with painted ornaments, fully preserved battle pick and a bow were buried in the coffin. Unexpectedly, the full-genomic analysis, showed that the individual was female. This fact opens a new aspect in the study of the social history of the Scythian society and perhaps brings us back to the myth of the Amazons, discussed by Herodotus. Of course, this discovery is unique in its preservation for the Scythian culture of Tuva and requires careful study and conservation.
