Best Paris Neighborhood Walking Tours with Food & Wine Tastings

Explore Paris's most famous neighborhoods as you sample fantastic pastries, cheese, charcuterie, wine, macarons, and chocolates on these five wonderful gourmet walking tours:

1.  Taste Cheese, Wine, & Pastries in Montmartre

Pastries in a Montmartre bakery

You'll discover why Montmartre, once the home of Van Gogh, Toulouse-Lautrec, Picasso, and other starving artists, has become a favorite of some of the city's best food artisans, markets, and bakeries as you sample their creations on the small-group 3-Hour Montmartre Cheese, Wine, and Pastry Tour.

What you'll eat:   As you walk along the cobblestone lanes past terraced cafes and markets brimming with fresh produce, your guide will take you to the best spots to taste the exceptional quality of the local products.  You'll sip wine as you sample local cheeses and charcuterie, enjoy freshly-made French pastries, and savor incredible  hand-crafted chocolates.

What you'll see:   Along the way, your guide will show you Montmartre's most famous sights:   Moulin Rouge, Sacré Coeur, the hillside vineyard, historical windmills, and the private mansions tucked away among the neighborhood's picturesque hillsides.

"Tour was so fun and interesting!  Delicious cheese, wine and pastries.  We couldn't eat dinner."

2.  Indulge in Pastry and Chocolate Tastings in Saint-Germain-des-Prés

As you stroll through the neighborhood's picture-perfect streets and narrow lanes, you'll make eight stops along the way to sample the fine chocolates, macarons, and pastries and even have a cup of tea, coffee, or hot chocolate.

What you'll experience:  As you savor all the different confections, you'll learn about the history of this famous neighborhood and its culinary artisans, including some of France's best chocolate and pastry chefs.  You'll even visit famed chocolatier Debauve & Gallais, a favorite of Marie-Antoinette.

Bonus:  You get a wonderful tour of the neighborhood as you explore its hidden passages, boutiques, galleries, and beautiful churches such as Saint Germain des Prés and Saint Sulpice.

"Far exceeded our expectations.  Parisian food is amazing!  Best chocolates in the world!!!"

3.  Enjoy Specialty Cheeses, Wine Pairings, & Desserts in the Marais

"Our guide knew so much about food, wine, and Paris.  We loved his passion, and we could have never discovered all these spots on our own.  This is the third Get Your Guide Paris food tour we've done on this trip and each one has been top quality."

Lulu was great! She was very informative, gave us good history regarding the stomping grounds of Julia Child. We walked through beautiful neighborhoods and ate at various places which all had great food (crepes, Perisian sandwiches, chocolate, eclaires, quiche, patisserie, wine and cheese). This was a decent amount of walking but not too much. At the end of the tour, including a walk to the Metro, including a quick stop to the Louvre, we were only at 10K steps.

Aneesh Kulkarni

We thought Benoit was an amazing guide on this twilight walking food through Le Marais. Engaging and interesting conversation throughout the tour. Great choices for stops, history and food. We would highly recommend this tour and Benoit. We were a family of four with two teenagers and they loved Benoit and for the tour that they made exciting.

Jessica Lowe McCraw

The BEST adventure through Montmartre BOOK THIS TOUR!!!! Our guide was absolutely FANTASTIC. He was enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and you could tell he has a passion and love for food and the city. He has the best personality and we enjoyed every minute of the tour and learning about the food and history of Montmartre. We had the very best food and wine. We tried escargot for the first time and it was incredible. We had a fantastic group and the most memorable experience.

Kathi L

We were a family group of 12 ranging from 21 to 77 years and this absolutely suitable for everyone! Silvana was phenomenal in her knowledge of the area and her sense of humor was on point. The food and the wine were outstanding - our collective favorite was the pita at Miznon. We thought the food selection was well balanced - we loved that Silvana shared the French influence that has been incorporated in this amazing Jewish district. Absolutely would do this tour again!

rebecca s

We enjoyed Ben and all the food! He bent over backwards to accommodate our luggage so we wouldn’t miss the tour! There was plenty of food so come hungry! One of the best vegetarian pita sandwiches we ever had. Yes they accommodate vegetarians! I’m really hooked on food and wine tours now!

Stephanie Slaviero

Tris was amazing! He was so knowledgeable on everything French cuisine! He taught us so much about French food and how to choose the best! The food was also amazing! So much great food and so much great wine! I really wish we did this on our first day in Paris and not our last so that we could have eaten at some of the place Tris told us about!

Elisabeth Hess

We had a terrific tour with Chef Tris in Momartre! He was so much fun and full of great knowledge. The food was terrific and the day ended with an unbelievably great pastry called a choupette. Wow! Highly recommend this tour if you are in Paris. Yum yum!!

Melanie Abrahams

Claire is an amazing guide! We loved hearing about all the Paris history and the history specifically of Le Marais. She also shared interesting anecdotes about local businesses. And stopped at 2 secret gardens we would have never discovered in our own. The food stops were so delicious! The kouginettes from Maison George Larnicol were perfection. We finished with an amazing selection of cheeses and Pinot Noir at a quintessential Paris spot. The tour was a great way to explore Le Marais, meet some new people and enjoy great food and drinks

Jennifer Edgerton

My husband and I loved the food tour of Montmartre. We learned so much about French cuisine while we were eating our weight in delicious French food! We had escargot, beef bourguignon, cheese and fruit, macrons, and of course some lovely wine. We can recommend this tour enough! Our guide was so knowledgeable and such a fun character. The tour was amazing! Camila was a fantastic tour guide very informative and friendly. We learned so much about the history of Paris Le Marais is filled which such a rich fascinating history and a cool present filled with delicious classic and unusual food, desserts, and drinks.

Amy Tarleton

Chef Tris and Chef Karl provided a most memorable experience with their charisma, knowledge and storytelling. We did exactly what the tour described with walking in Julia Child’s footsteps on an average day in Paris. We started with a delectable crepe that could be either sweet or savory next door to the creperie that Julia regularly visited (sadly now closed). Then we ate Eclairs, shared jambon beurre baguettes, pain aux raisins, sampled various cheeses with a lovely glass of wine that was Julia’s favorite at her favorite restaurant just right around the corner from her Parisian home. Intermixed with the food was sightseeing and walking through the Latin Quarter and Saint Germain neighborhoods. All in all, our group had a tremendous time and would recommend to anyone even if you aren’t familiar with Julia Child.

We went on the Eating Europe Food Tour of Montemartre. We had a blast! It was the best!!! We learned so much -- We ate & drank so much!!! It was an amazing afternoon we had! We are so grateful!!!

I don’t normally write reviews. But this Montmartre food tour was hands down one of the very best things we did in Paris. Our host, Tris, was absolutely awesome - knowledgeable, funny, personable and very instructive on food, sourcing high-quality foods and wines, and giving us great insider-tips on local restaurants and specialty shops. This is not a typical food tour where they speed-walk you around town to sample tiny morsels. We learned about Parisian history and food culture and visited several shops, all culminating in a long, relaxed and thoroughly enjoyable (and delicious) lunch with multiple courses and many different wines. All throughout, Tris was simply amazing. This truly is a must-do tour. My daughters (16 and 19) are still talking about it.

Taylor Reeves

Claire was a great tour guide! She gave my sister and I a one of a kind experience in France. We learned all about history, culture, and traditional food of the area. Would highly recommend to anyone traveling to the area!

Tricia Finch

Camile was a delight to have as a food tour guide in the Marais district. Her knowledge of the area and it’s history were awesome, making the afternoon a delight. Camile gave us recommendations for cafes, Boulangeries, places to tempt our tastebuds and hidden areas to relax for the rest of our stay. We highly recommend her as a guide. Thanks Camile.

1. paris walking food tour with secret food tours.

  • Duration: 3.5 hours
  • Departure: Bd de Clichy, Paris
  • Departure Time: Between 11:30 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Includes: Exceptional Viennoiserie (Notre Dame Tour), galette (savoury crêpe) from Brittany (Notre Dame Tour), French savoury tarts (quiche/paté en croute) and vegetables (Notre Dame Tour), authentic macarons, selection of cheeses , selection of freshly baked breads

Parisian gastronomy is something to be treasured, and I’ll admit that my first couple of times in the city I really sold the capital short. I thought that I’d been trying “authentic” Parisian food the entire time, when I’d been repeatedly falling into tourist traps.

With the Paris Walking Food Tour with Secret Food Tours  adventure, you’ll get to explore 6 different locations with plenty of traditional French fare that had me completely reimagine my view of Parisian cuisine!

What’s really cool about this tour is that you have the option of exploring the food scene of either Montmartre or the Notre Dame neighborhoods (hint: both are amazing).

As both are small group settings, you don’t have to worry about just being another head in the crowd. We felt like we were on a tour with a friend who just happened to be a local expert on the subject!

I of course, had to take both tours, and in Montmarte we were able to try delectable artisanal chocolates and macarons, along with a soft creme, and French bread at a boulangerie.

Expand To See More See Less

I really enjoyed learning about and sampling an array of French cheeses and cured meats, perfectly paired with fine French wines! I even learned the difference between a crepe and galette, which has been a great conversation starter wherever I go!

The Notre Dame tour covers some classic French delicacies and is right by where the entire city of Paris actually came to be, on the Île de la Cité.

We were able to try viennoiseries, oysters, some French tarts, and many other desserts. Along the way, we learned a ton about the history of each area and our guide gave us some amazing recommendations and what to look for in finding the best food joints in Paris.

Le Marais is one of the most popular destinations for tourists and locals, alike, in Paris. It’s filled with rich history, unique culture, arts, and plenty of delicious food!

The Le Marais Paris The Original District Food and Wine Tasting Tour  is the perfect way to explore it all in a neatly-designed excursion that will bring the district to life right before your eyes.

I’ve been to Le Marais plenty of times, but I have to say that this was the first time that I got to see some hidden gems that I never would’ve experienced on my own.

Our guide did a fantastic job at integrating a history and culture tour with the foodie aspect seamlessly with their own anecdotes and stories from the past.

With a maximum participant limit of just 10 people, it felt like a group of friends were strolling around enjoying some of the most mouthwatering dishes we’ve ever tried with an expert to lead the way!

This felt like such a unique experience, diving into places that are so far off the “touristy” path with 8 to 10 stops at little shops with amazing food.

I believe that the stops vary a bit depending on the start time, but everything is absolutely delicious. We tried plenty of delicious cheeses and cured meats, paired with fine French wines, which taught me so much about how to properly pair them!

Aside from that, we tried organic tepenade, baguettes, and jams, which was perfect for me as I’m a huge fan of breads and sweet, fruity jams!

After that, we headed over to some chocolate shops and learned from famous chocolatiers where we were fortunate enough to learn about and sample the chocolates and Macarons!

It was a lovely way to really get to know the historic Le Marais while trying some of the best foods it has to offer.

3. paris ultimate food tour.

  • Departure: 111 Rue de Turenne, 75003 Paris
  • Departure Time: 10:45 AM, 2:30 & 3:30 PM
  • Includes:  Local English-speaking guide, Expertly guided walking tour, 11 food tastings and 2 half glasses of wine across 8 amazing, family-run establishments in le Marais

This is yet another fantastic food tour of the charming Marais neighborhood, where you’ll get to learn all about the history of the area, the food, and of course, get to sample the goods!

The Paris Ultimate Food Tour  will take you on a gastronomic adventure through the heart of Paris, where you’ll get to explore the city’s rich culinary heritage spanning a wide spectrum of flavors!

Calling a tour the “ultimate” is quite a claim, but the comprehensive approach to how they showcase the diversity of Parisian food really does earn the title. I’d say that if you’re looking for something for the entire family, this thoughtfully curated tour is an excellent option.

The professional guides manage to speak in a way that addresses both seasoned foodies and curious “newbie” travelers in a way that doesn’t exclude anyone.

As it is a half-day tour, you should expect time at each stop to be relatively limited, but this is perfect as we got to go back later and try everything we really loved more in-depth.

I really enjoyed learning about the Marais and how it used to sit just outside Parisian walls, with a temple even built here by the Knights Templar!

As we learned, we were able to indulge in delicious cheeses and charcuterie and local markets, croissants from local bakers, sourdough, crepes, and much more!

Aside from the Chocolate Bar, my favorite stop was at La Boutique Jaune, which opened in 1946 in the heart of the Jewish Quarter – obviously a very tumultuous time in history, given that WWII had just ended.

From brioche to fine cheeses and wines, I felt that this expertly-crafted itinerary did a great job at showing off authentic Parisian flavors and the history that brought them to life.

4. Paris Le Marais Walking Food Tour With Secret Food Tours

  • Departure: 133 Rue Saint-Antoine, 75004 Paris
  • Departure Time: 10:30 AM, 1:00 & 3:30 PM
  • Includes:  Viennoiserie of the day, traditional bread, freshly-made croque-monsieur, selection of French cheeses, secret dish, handmade falafel, chocolates, fine wines, water

Through rich culinary traditions and hidden gastronomic gems, this next tour is another compelling option that’ll teach you all about the culture of past and present-day Marais.

The  Paris Le Marais Walking Food Tour with Secret Food Tours  is the perfect choice if you want to see all those hidden spots that the vast majority of tourists never get to see. What I didn’t know before, is that so many dishes and flavors are unique to Le Marais, and this tour really shows them off.

What I really loved about this excursion was just how intimate it was, offering personalized attention and interaction with not only our guide but the various vendors at each stop.

The warm and welcoming atmosphere (something people don’t often relate to Parisians) really enriched the experience and made me feel more open to learning about the craft and energy of Le Marais.

To start things off, we had to enjoy our morning traditionally “French” with a fresh coffee and buttery soft croissant, which were simple but absolutely delicious.

The bakery or “boulangerie” stop was definitely one of my favorites, as we got to try plenty of French breads (which put those that I’d tried previously to shame).

After we were all fueled up, we strolled through the charming streets to the city’s oldest covered market to check out the array of different stalls and try tasty cheeses with wine.

At this point, we’d learned quite a bit about local culture and Parisian history, which only enriched the tasting experience further.

We then made a stop at a local brasserie which made it feel like had stepped right into some kind of French movie, with a lovely ambience and a delicious croque monsieur to snack on.

No afternoon is complete without trying some artisanal chocolates and French macarons, along with a “special secret dish” that you’ll have to try yourself!

5. Montmartre Food Tour with a Local Chef

  • Duration: 3.25 hours
  • Departure: 31 Rue Lepic, 75018 Paris
  • Departure Time: 10:300 AM, 3:30 PM
  • Includes: Savor baguette, macarons, amazing cheese, charcuterie, choux à la crème, 3 glasses of French wine, scenic viewpoints, local expert guide + a pdf Paris guide for food lovers.

You know, whenever you take a food tour, you really have to wonder about the background of the person guiding you around.

However, if you have a local professional chef leading the way, you can rest assured you’re in safe and competent hands.

With the  Montmartre Food Tour with a Local Chef  offers an immersive experience that will not only take you through some of the most amazing eateries in Paris, but will also teach you what to look out for in order to find an authentic and high-quality restaurant.

Montmarte is famous for its art, bohemian feel, cobblestone passageways, and this big white church you may have seen or heard of.

However, did you know it’s also a huge “foodie” scene boasting top-notch wine bars and fine-dining restaurants ranging from quick bites to haut-cuisine? It definitely offers a unique perspective to Parisian cuisine, with a professional chef there to add engaging commentary and insider insights!

We started with Le Grenier a Pain, which is known for its traditional baguettes, sourdough, pies, eclairs, and is so well-reputed that it’s even earned UNESCO World Heritage status!

I enjoyed a delicious pain au chocolate before we headed ot Boucherie Jacky Gaudin which offers some of the best French meats. I was admittedly a bit hesitant, but I did try rillettes which consistent of expertly-cooked goose meat.

Our visit to Belvedere was simply breathtaking, with amazing views of Paris – we got some time to soak it all in while taking plenty of photos and videos.

Next up, we tried a ton of carefully-selected cheeses and explored one of the oldest cabarets in the city! I noticed that on this tour we got to try many more pastries and sweets than the others, so if you have a sweet tooth make sure to put this tour at the top of your list!

6. The Award-Winning Private Food Tour of Paris: 6 or 10 Tastings

  • Duration:  3 hours
  • Departure: 112 Rue du Faubourg Saint-Antoine, 75012 Paris
  • Departure Time: Between 11:00 AM – 6:30 PM
  • Includes:  Private personalized tour, local foodie guide, 6 or 10 food and drink tastings (depending on option selected), veggie alternatives available

This is one of the best tours in my opinion, for those who are visiting Paris for the first time and would like a “taster” of the local cuisine while avoiding tourist traps. As it’s a private tour, it will be completely customizable so you can provide input for your specific interests!

The Award-Winning Private Food Tour of Paris: 6 or 10 Tastings  is an experience that will reflect your unique palate and interests while still showcasing Parisian cuisine in an authentic way.

I already had quite a booked itinerary planned, so it was nice that they offered so many different start times. We were also offered 2 different tour lengths: either 6 or 10 food and drink tastings, depending on your preferences.

I chose the 10-tasting tour so I could really enjoy the full experience and try all of the dishes and drinks to offer the best review possible.

The tour started off by meeting our guide at the Marché d’Aligre, which was quite impressive with the huge variety of different vendors from beautiful flowers to fresh French cheeses.

Our guide did a great job at selecting tastings based on what I’d told them I was most interested in, offering exclusive knowledge of the city along the way. I had a great time in Pletzl, which is the Jewish quarter that boasts an interesting background and tasty dishes.

We stopped by Hotel de Ville which not only is the residence of Paris’ mayor but also holds plenty of large events – we tried a delicious quiche Lorraine and crepes here!

I was able to enjoy plenty of other traditional French dishes with my family in a way that everyone was entertained and having a great time. It’s perfect for those who want to maximize their time and really want to learn a lot in a relatively short timeframe.

7. Montmartre Hill Sweet & Savory French Gourmet Food & Wine Tasting Tour

  • Duration: 3 to 3.5 hours
  • Departure: 5 Pl. Blanche, 75009 Paris
  • Departure Time: 10:30, 11:30 AM, 2:30, 4:00 PM
  • Includes:  Alcoholic beverages, food tasting such as macarons, cheeses and cured meats, local guide, small group tour

My entire life I’d heard so much about how the French eat, from friends and family to watching things related to French cuisine in cinema.

It seemed like some kind of mystery, and the typical touristy restaurants definitely don’t provide an authentic representation of French food. However, the Montmartre Hill Sweet & Savory French Gourmet Food & Wine Tasting Tour definitely does, taking you through 10 delicious food stops!

I’m a big history buff, and I truly enjoyed the way our guide managed to incorporate plenty of history lessons and fun facts throughout each stop we made.

I felt like it was a great balance between a traditional history tour and a dedicated food tour, with our guide clearly displaying their insider knowledge. I didn’t know all that much about Montmartre before the tour, but it was a blast getting to learn about its artistic and food scene!

We started out having a typically Parisian breakfast consisting of a little fresh coffee and a soft and warm croissant, while eating through an amazing boulangerie!

The vendors and owners were all so friendly, which made us feel that much more at home and open to learning about each location.

We also got to sample plenty of local treats ranging from cured meats and cheeses to sweet jams, handmade chocolates, and much more.

I feel like every food tour should combine sweet and savory, but you’d be surprised at how many don’t! As we strolled along and ate, we were given plenty of time to make stops at significant landmarks such as Moulin Rouge and the Sacre Coeur Basilica, along with the city’s only urban vineyard!

I couldn’t have asked for more with this Paris food tour, and I hope to do it again very soon!

Get to know the Food and the Neighbourhood – Highly Recommend!

We toured with Chef Tris – it was a great day with such good information – we learned more about the backstory of French bread with him than we did the next day when we took a french bread baking class. We sat at a cafe and had some croissants, went and learned more about the food labeling in France in a little specialty shop. Walked up some hilly roads with the usual cobblestones. Very quaint. It likely goes without saying to wear good shoes. Then we finished it off at the restaurant in very cozy quarters – but our group got along so well we didn’t mind being seated rubbing shoulders. The lunch was really fabulous – with cheese, wine, really delicious escargot, beef bourguignon, bread. We learned the history of the area and the food we were eating. Topped it off outside with macaroon and champagne. Truly a wonderful experience.

Amazing Food Tour

We had the most incredible afternoon with the most delicious Escargot, and Beef Bourguignon. Our guide Chef Tris was beyond amazing. This is a most when visiting Paris. I highly recommend doing it at the beginning of your trip.

Uniquely satisfying slice of food, wine and Parisian life. Unforgettable

Tris (AKA The Broke Brit in Paris) was outstanding. Together we learnt so much about how food, politics and Parisian culture are firmly entwined. We were very lucky the all the others on our tour were awesome, all from various places and backgrounds but all united by a passion for food (and wine). As the food tasting (and wine) flowed so did the enjoyment. Stories were shared amongst the group. Laughter and even song from a local singer. An interesting and intimate way to learn and experience a French food focused Paris.

Fantastic Tour! Thought this was going to be a bit of a fluff tour... Just an excuse to eat and day drink. Delighted to be proved wrong. The tour was cleverly designed, and the guide was very knowledgeable about how food and wine amplify the culture. She also provided insight into the history of the district. It was a perfect capstone to my week in Paris.

The tour was my favorite part of my trip to Paris. Tris was our guide and so knowledgable with the wines, the cheese, the chocolate and the history. It was one of the best tours I have ever taken! You do a lot of walking and when we went at the top of Sept it was blazing hot (90f) But the meal was amazing as well as the wine, cheese everything…well worth it! My only issue is communications with the tour guy as a company. The directions say Blanche metro…but there are a few addresses with Blanche in the name and having not been here before I was unsure. We ended up putting in the name of a place to make sure to get to the Blanche metro—3 place Blanche after we found it was by the metro stop (google maps was not pulling it up as the station) there are several tours that are going on in the exit at the top that space. We ended up asking 4 other operators if they were our guide but then Tris came. The other guides had on vests, umbrellas etc so when their people came up from the subway they knew which one was theirs — this was very helpful. I emailed asking if what we had used as point of reference was the right one and was told that there were no tours in that area — so the corporate handlers need some updated communication. Again the tour was my FAVORITE thing in Paris. Tris was AMAZING! Do this tour —hopefully this helps you not feel lost.

A Must While in Paris

This is a new tour and we were on one of the first groups! This was a fantastic way to spend a few hours in Paris. Chef PJ is so charismatic and hilarious - he is not only entertaining but so informative. We learned so much from him, form how to shop for French ingredients to the history of the Montmarte area. HIs food and drink recommendations were spot on. He kept the wine flowing all day and served us incredible food. Highly highly recommend!

Taylor Fritz Ordered Takeout to His Girlfriend's Hotel During Olympics: Village 'Food Was Pretty Bad' (Exclusive)

Fritz and Morgan Riddle open up to PEOPLE about the Olympics in Paris, other WAGs on tour and pets for their partnership with Heineken 0.0 and the US Open

paris food tour

Despite competing in three events during the 2024 Paris Olympics , tennis star Taylor Fritz still carved out time for his girlfriend, influencer Morgan Riddle .

Fritz, 26, would escape to Riddle’s hotel room and order food delivery to avoid eating in the Olympic Village .

“I thought the food was pretty bad,” the athlete tells PEOPLE in an interview with Riddle, 27, for their partnership with Heineken 0.0 and the US Open . But aside from his distaste for the food, Fritz slept well on the cardboard beds and found living in the Olympic Village “cool.”

“I think you do it more for just the whole experience,” he continues. “Just being around all the other athletes and sharing a room with Tommy [Paul]. And we kind of just grinded through it.”

For three years, Riddle has traveled the globe with her boyfriend as he competes on the men’s tennis pro tour. She has sat in the box for Fritz’s career-defining moments, including a title at the 2022 Indian Wells Open, quarterfinal berths at three Grand Slams and an Olympic bronze medal in men's doubles in Paris. The pair have become tennis’ it-couple, and Riddle has developed a social media presence of 347,000 Instagram followers, 530,000 TikTok followers and 80,000 YouTube subscribers.

Matthew Stockman/Getty

Because Fritz is fully locked into training, Riddle often explores cities by herself. On whether she wants to keep globetrotting for the foreseeable future, she says, “I always wanted to travel a lot when I was younger. I think that I have the personality for it.”

Riddle has had to make connections on her own as well, meeting up with business owners, journalists and other influencers around the world. She’s also become close with the “great community of women on the tour” who travel alongside their boyfriends, like Sebastian Korda’s girlfriend Ivana Nedvěd.

“There’s a bunch of younger partners now. When we first started dating, there wasn’t really many for me to hang out with,” Riddle says.

As the couple gears up for the upcoming Grand Slam in N.Y.C., they’ve partnered with Heineken 0.0 and the US Open to bring moderation to the tournament with a limited-edition can available exclusively at the Arthur Ashe Stadium. The pair have transformed the zero-alcohol beer into "L0VE.L0VE," a double entendre for the "0" score in tennis and the growing appreciation for non-alcoholic beer.

For Riddle, the “refreshing” drink makes sitting in the “hot” stadium more bearable, without the alcohol.

“Drinking a beer while you're watching sports, it goes hand in hand. So it's nice to have that option if you don't want to be having the alcohol,” Fritz adds.

Tnani Badreddine/DeFodi Images via Getty

Fritz heads to Flushing Meadows off a bronze medal-winning run with Tommy Paul at the Olympics, as well as a quarterfinal finish at three of the last four majors. As for what it will take for him to bring home a Grand Slam, Fritz says, “Not much.”

“All it's going to take is for me to get to the semis or the finals once or twice, and then I think I'm going to be able to start doing it a lot more often,” the current world No. 12 explains.

Never miss a story — sign up for  PEOPLE's free daily newsletter  to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from juicy celebrity news to compelling human interest stories.

The tennis star has only one goal in his sights: to win a Grand Slam. Riddle, on the other hand, wants a chihuahua.

“The one thing that's really missing for me in my life right now is a dog that I can travel with on the tour and, like, put it in my purse and bring it to matches,” Riddle confesses. “Logistically, we're still figuring that out. Taylor wants a cat.”

“Not right now,” Fritz clarifies.

“Yeah, probably not right now,” she agrees.

Fritz opened his US Open bid with a first-round win against Argentinian Camilo Ugo Carabelli. He'll next face Italy's Matteo Berrettini on Wednesday.

As Britain woke up from a long bank holiday weekend, Sir Keir Starmer gave the country something else to look forward to: tax hikes and spending cuts.

These were all-but confirmed in a Downing Street news conference outlining the "dire" state of the public finances.

Again we heard that VAT, national insurance and income tax would be exempt from any changes. Instead, commentators believe levies on capital gains and inheritance will rise, with leading tax firm Blick Rothenberg issuing this warning on the former...

We have two months to wait for more details - the budget is on 30 October - but our politics team has outlined which other taxes the chancellor could have in her sights here...

One of the first things to go under Labour - ministers say due to the economic inheritance left by the previous government - was universal winter fuel payments for pensioners.

Only those who receive pension credit or other means-tested benefits will still get the £200-£300 towards the cost of their energy bills.

Even then, they could have to fill in a 243-question form, as we revealed on Thursday…

On Wednesday's episode of the Daily, host Liz Bates heard from one of the plan's critics, Labour backbencher Rachael Maskell.

Plus, Liz discussed whether there could be an alternative - one that could keep everyone happy - with The Social Market Foundation's Sam Robinson.

One of the stories inviting the most reader comments this week was our feature on whether the Nike trainers bubble has burst...

Many of the things examined in the long read came up in your correspondence - with quality and price seemingly major issues for consumers...

Nike have lost their way in the running market, unless you are looking for a top of the range, super fragile, supershoe. I used to have multiple pairs in my rotation, but today I don't have a single one. Brands like Hoka beat them hands down on product line-up & quality. TheRunner
I think Nike trainers in this era are ugly & overpriced. I collect Nike OGs from the 80s & 90s. Classic Nike Air Max 1s, Air Trainer 1s, 180s, you cannot go wrong with them. MarkyG74
Bought a £180 pair of Nike trainers the other week, smudged glue, loose fabric + stitching everywhere, most trainers nowadays should come with some trimming and assembly required note. Gudgeonb
Has Nike rested on their historical reputation and not moved on with the market? Value for money, consumer ethical beliefs and young people have moved on - have they simply lost that competitive edge? Not great for trail running that's for sure! Fashion statement, maybe. Jo
Jordans have had their day, Nike losing the market. Stoneymezza
Nike have priced themselves out of the market, the price of their trainers have increased by £40 on a pair of Air Max 90s in the last three years, people won't be ripped off and will simply take there business to other brands. Matteo
Nike's bubble has burst, they ditched the independent retailer and it's been downhill from there. New brands are now occupying independent retail spaces, retail space whereby you get a personalised experience, one where you learn the history and culture of a brand. Anthony Hammond
This is always down to price. The affordability of some of these trainers is scandalous, £200 for same material as ones I get front Primark for £10. Nickgloverbirkenhead
Myself and fiancée used to love Nike. But I feel they aren't as diverse and inclusive as they once were. Additionally, they aren't as affordable or comfortable. It feels as if they've prioritised cheap manufacturing over expensive prices. This is upsetting. From a Nike fan. Niall Benson

These were some of the comments...

I spent many of my professional years being paid by clients to minimise their exposure to CGT. The government could (and perhaps should) require a CGT computation on a property sale, to be made as part of the sales transaction and a payment made on account at that time. Nick Taylor
The vast majority of working people earning below £30k a year will not need to worry about this. So why are the media making a big deal of it? CGT accounts for 2% of total tax so it's a good move for the people or companies to pay their fair share as it's felt like they haven't. Mike

We also had lots of mail on hotels putting up prices on nights when Oasis are playing.

This dynamic pricing is used across the industry - but this week Maldron Hotels found itself facing a backlash after what it called a "technical error" led to cheaper reservations being cancelled, and then the rooms being temporarily advertised at a higher rate.

Here are some of the comments that came in...

Booked a hotel in Dublin for Oasis concert dates yesterday, paid 200 then they cancelled it and when I went back on the same room was nearly 500. How is this allowed? Joe mallon10
Happened to me. Booked two rooms at the Maldron Hotel Cathedral Square at £253 each. Got an email to say they were cancelled, called the hotel as they were still confirmed on booking.com and they said they were all cancelled on their side but being resold at £443 10 minutes later. Katie
Hotels have been doing this for years. The minute LFC get into a final the room prices triple. Jackolfc
The prices can only go as high as the concert goers will. For these concerts they will be prepared to go very high. That's the ONLY reason Oasis are touring. Money!👍🏼😂 Hafalumpa
Hotels should be regulated and fined for doing such unscrupulous pricing. They do this regularly for events, it needs government intervention. Barbara

Planned strikes by LNER train drivers have been called off this weekend, the Aslef union has announced.

Members were due to walk out tomorrow and over several more weekends this year over a dispute about the breaking of work practice agreements.

However Aslef has announced today that the industrial action has been suspended and drivers will work as normal.

It follows meetings between the union and LNER bosses.

Sainsbury's has announced a £130m deal to buy 10 Homebase stores and convert them into supermarkets , in a move that is expected to create around 1,000 jobs.

It said the deal should be completed next month.

The new shops will cover "key target locations" for expansion across England, Northern Ireland and Scotland, the supermarket said.

The first converted store is due to be opened next summer, will all sites expected to be converted by the end of 2025.

Vinted has launched a new electronics category on its app, allowing for items such as games consoles, headphones and smart watches to be sold for the first time.

Retail Week reported that the new category has been brought in due to the popularity of the limited number of electronics allowed to be sold on the app previously.

Fashion will remain the focus of the second hand marketplace, it said.

Experts are reacting today after it emerged that employers will have to offer flexible working hours - including a four-day week - to all workers under government plans.

To receive their full pay, employees would still have to work their full hours but compressed into a shorter working week - something some workplaces already do.

Currently, employees can request flexible hours as soon as they start at a company but employers are not legally obliged to agree.

The Labour government now wants to make it so employers have to offer flexible hours from day one, except where it is "not reasonably feasible".

It is understood Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner is behind the move and wants to introduce legislation on it this autumn after consulting with unions and businesses.

The government has denied employers will be forced to allow staff to work four-day weeks, or make employees work a four-day week.

But some experts have reacted positively to the proposed plan, with one describing it as a "beacon of hope" for employee wellbeing.

Gabriel McKeown, head of macroeconomics   at Sad Rabbit Investments, said talk of a four-day week is now longer a "whisper in the corridors of progressive workplaces".

"Yet, despite the natural 'too good to be true' suspicion surrounding anything that feels remotely utopian, this policy could be a beacon of hope for improved mental health and enhanced productivity," he said.

He noted that implementing the change would not come without "complexities" for employees.

Meanwhile,  Cara Cunniff, leadership and performance consultant   at ThriveWell Global, said a "clearer focus on outputs over inputs may be just the thing to jolt the British economy into action".

The plan "throws down the gauntlet" and "may be just the catalyst employees and businesses need" to recruit and retain the best workers, she said.

"We're in a race for scarce talent and the expectations of the workers of today and tomorrow bear little comparison to those of former generations."

Sky News has also spoken to Joe Ryle, director of the 4 Day Week Campaign , and Michelle Evans, founder of Small Business Britain , about what they think of the government's plan.

Mr Ryle says he welcomes the move which shows that ministers recognise "the four day week is here to stay" - though he noted the proposal only allows for a compression rather than a reduction in hours, which is what the campaign is aimed at.

He says some companies which have allowed employees to reduce their hours and maintain their pay have "seen productivity being maintained and the wellbeing of workers improving".

Offering a different opinion, Ms Evans says it could cause "challenges" for small to medium businesses.

There are lots of sectors where this "just isn't feasible", she adds, saying firms such as those in the retail and hospitality sector "can't just close for a day" or afford to hire more staff.

She adds that it's important to "be really clear" about how far flexible working can go. Smaller businesses "aren't the bad guys" and "want their staff to do well", she says.

As the hopes of tens of thousands of Oasis fans are crushed by a tweet just now announcing that everyone who's got lucky in the presale ballot has already been contacted... we've been asking just how much you'd be willing to pay for a ticket.

Oasis revealed yesterday how much tickets for the upcoming tour will cost, after Liam and Noel Gallagher confirmed they'd set aside their differences for a hotly anticipated reunion.

Prices for the cheapest seats start at around £73 and around £150 for standing - while the most expensive ticket will see fans paying over £500.

It had been widely reported that tickets could soar over the £100 mark.

A poll of Sky News followers on LinkedIn has offered some insight into how much people are willing to fork out to see one of the biggest bands of the 90s:

The largest proportion of people (42%) said they'd want to spend less than £100 to see Oasis. Only 6% said they'd pay £200-£300, while interestingly, a higher proportion (11%) said they'd be willing to spend over £300.

Social media users are reacting to the ticket prices, as fans prepare to find out today whether they've been successful in a resale ballot.

One X user said they were "so disappointed", while another said the band were "taking the p***".

"Those Oasis ticket prices are a farce," said another.

Other fans took to social media with evidence of much cheaper tickets from days gone by...

But while some have been left feeling put out by how much an Oasis ticket could set them back - others have defended the pricing.

One user said they felt the tickets were a "fair price", while another said: "Did people really expect Oasis to charge the price of a Watford at home ticket and a packet of pork scratchings? Come on."

"Oasis can just take my money I absolutely do not care what the ticket price is," said another fan.

House prices are now growing at the fastest annual rate in nearly two years, the UK's largest building society has said, with rises expected to continue.

In the year up to August, houses became 2.4% more valuable with the average property costing £265,375, according to Nationwide.

But prices are still below the all-time highs recorded in the summer of 2022 by about 3%.

The annual increase and associated increase in buying demand is still "subdued by historic standards", Nationwide said.

The deadline for working parents of nine-month-olds in England to register for 15 free hours of government-funded childcare a week is tomorrow.

From 1 September, the free childcare offer is being extended to eligible parents with children of this age and older.

But with applications due by 31 August, families need to act now.

Check if you're eligible  here  - or read on for our explainer on free childcare across the UK.

Three and four-year-olds

In England, all parents of children aged three and four in England can claim 15 hours of free childcare per week, for 1,140 hours (38 weeks) a year, at an approved provider.

This is a universal offer open to all.

It can be extended to 30 hours where both parents (or the sole parent) are in work, earn the weekly minimum equivalent of 16 hours at the national minimum or living wage, and have an income of less than £100,000 per year.

Two-year- olds

Previously, only parents in receipt of certain benefits were eligible for 15 hours of free childcare.

But, as of April, this was extended to working parents.

This is not a universal offer, however.

A working parent must earn more than £8,670 but less than £100,000 per year. For couples, the rule applies to both parents.

Nine-months-old

On 1 September, this same 15-hour offer will be extended to working parents of children aged from nine months. From 12 May, those whose children will be at least nine months old on 31 August can apply to received the 15 hours of care from September.

From September 2025

The final change to the childcare offer in England will be rolled out in September 2025, when eligible working parents of all children under the age of five will be able to claim 30 hours of free childcare a week.

In some areas of Wales, the Flying Start early years programme offers 12.5 hours of free childcare for 39 weeks, for eligible children aged two to three. The scheme is based on your postcode area, though it is currently being expanded.

All three and four-year-olds are entitled to free early education of 10 hours per week in approved settings during term time under the Welsh government's childcare offer.

Some children of this age are entitled to up to 30 hours per week of free early education and childcare over 48 weeks of the year. The hours can be split - but at least 10 need to be used on early education.

To qualify for this, each parent must earn less than £100,000 per year, be employed and earn at least the equivalent of working 16 hours a week at the national minimum wage, or be enrolled on an undergraduate, postgraduate or further education course that is at least 10 weeks in length.

All three and four-year-olds living in Scotland are entitled to at least 1,140 hours per year of free childcare, with no work or earnings requirements for parents.

This is usually taken as 30 hours per week over term time (38 weeks), though each provider will have their own approach.

Some households can claim free childcare for two-year-olds. To be eligible you have to be claiming certain benefits such as Income Support, Jobseeker's Allowance or Universal Credit, or have a child that is in the care of their local council or living with you under a guardianship order or kinship care order.

Northern Ireland

There is no scheme for free childcare in Northern Ireland. Some other limited support is available.

Working parents can access support from UK-wide schemes such as tax credits, Universal Credit, childcare vouchers and tax-free childcare.

Aside from this, all parents of children aged three or four can apply for at least 12.5 hours a week of funded pre-school education during term time. But over 90% of three-year-olds have a funded pre-school place - and of course this is different to childcare.

What other help could I be eligible for?

Tax-free childcare  - Working parents in the UK can claim up to £500 every three months (up to £2,000 a year) for each of their children to help with childcare costs.

If the child is disabled, the amount goes up to £1,000 every three months (up to £4,000 a year).

To claim the benefit, parents will need to open a tax-free childcare account online. For every 80p paid into the account, the government will top it up by 20p.

The scheme is available until the September after the child turns 11.

Universal credit  - Working families on universal credit can claim back up to 85% of their monthly childcare costs, as long as the care is paid for upfront. The most you can claim per month is £951 for one child or £1,630 for two or more children.

Tax credits -  People claiming working tax credit can get up to 70% of what they pay for childcare if their costs are no more than £175 per week for one child or £300 per work for multiple children.

It's likely to be one of the last few days that Burberry is included in the list of 100 most valuable companies on the London Stock Exchange - the FTSE 100 - and this morning the British fashion retailer is the biggest loser of the index.

Its share price is down 1.69%, the most of any of the 100 companies, as it's expected to be booted out next week due to share price tumbles. It had been a stalwart of the FTSE 100 for 15 years.

Oil is ending the week back above $80 - higher than most of the past few days - at $80.42 for a barrel of the benchmark Brent crude.

The pound has stayed high, or more accurately the dollar has stayed weak, with one pound falling just about below the more than two-year high of $1.32. Currently a pound buys $1.31.

In an update to our previous post, NatWest says the issue with its banking app that left customers unable to access some services this morning has been fixed.

A NatWest spokesperson said: "Some customers experienced difficulty in making payments via the mobile app this morning.

"This has been resolved and customers can make payments as normal. We're sorry for any inconvenience caused."

NatWest says it is working hard to fix an issue which has left customers unable to make payments through its app this morning.

Users have reported receiving an error message and being logged out when trying to approve a transfer, while others say they can't access the app at all.

The most recent data from outage monitor DownDetector shows there were nearly 1,020 complaints about issues with NatWest at 7.40am this morning.

A NatWest spokesperson said: "Some customers have experienced difficulty in making payments via the mobile app this morning. We're working to resolve this as quickly as possible and we're really sorry for any inconvenience caused."

Customers are still reportedly able to make payments via online banking.
