These Maui helicopter tours focus on two areas on the island’s east side that typically take hours to see by car. If you’re looking to skip the long drive and try something different, these tours allow you to see the Haleakala Volcano and Road to Hana from a different perspective.

Haleakala, also known as the East Maui Volcano, is the third-largest in Hawaii and rises a staggering 10,023 feet above sea level. It has a stunning landscape marked by cinder cones that looks like something found on another planet.

The Road to Hana, the other sight you can see on these tours, is a 64-mile-long road that takes you through East Maui’s lush rainforests full of waterfalls and hidden pools. Both of these locations offer plenty to see that’s only accessible (or easier to access) by air.

Once on the ground, you’ll have time to explore the lush rainforest floor of a former taro plantation. In the air, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of cliffs, waterfalls, and iconic surf spots like Jaws.

Blue Hawaiian’s Hana Tour w/Flight Back

Blue Hawaiian’s tour is actually a combo tour that includes a Road to Hana drive and a helicopter flight. You’ll start off on a 6-hour adventure in a limo van that includes tranquil stops at the charming Ke’anae hamlet, Wai’anapanapa State Park, and a waterfall where you can swim. After that, you’ll cap off the day with a stunning 36-minute helicopter ride above Haleakala Crater and Maui’s rugged coastline.

West Maui Mountains

If you can’t decide between the tours in the two sections above, then a complete island Maui helicopter tour might be for you. These tours take you to all the sights covered in those sections, including the Haleakala Volcano, Road to Hana, and West Maui Mountains.

Last but definitely not least, on our list of the best Maui helicopter tours are “doors off” helicopter tours. The name says it all, but if it’s not clear, these are tours where the helicopter doesn’t have any doors, allowing you to take photos without window glare while feeling the wind on your face.

If that sounds exciting, then you’re in luck! Only one company offers these types of tours in all of Maui, and they are listed below. Check them out if you’re up for a thrilling ride.

Air Maui’s Doors Off Helicopter Tour

Maui Helicopter Tours FAQ

All of the Maui helicopter tours listed on this page depart from the heliport at the Kahului Airport , where you likely started your trip if you flew to the island. That’s about a 30-60 minute car ride from most of the popular places to stay in West Maui and South Maui .

It’s hard to say exactly how far in advance you should book a Maui helicopter tour. For any activity in Maui, we usually recommend at least three months in advance to be safe. However, for helicopter tours, you could probably get away with a few weeks in advance. During peak seasons or holidays, booking even further in advance is advisable.

The duration of Maui helicopter tours can vary depending on your chosen tour. Typically, these tours range from 30 minutes to 2 hours in duration. Shorter tours usually focus on specific areas or landmarks, while longer tours offer a more comprehensive experience, covering multiple attractions. It’s best to check with the tour operator for precise details on tour durations.

Yes, you can usually bring a camera on a Maui helicopter tour. Many tour operators allow passengers to bring cameras or smartphones to capture the breathtaking views from the helicopter. However, it’s important to check with the specific tour company beforehand to ensure there are no restrictions or special guidelines regarding photography equipment.

Yes, there are often age and weight restrictions for Maui helicopter tours. The specific restrictions can vary depending on the tour operator and aircraft used. Generally, children under a certain age may be required to sit on a parent’s lap, and there might be weight limitations for safety reasons. It’s important to check with the tour company in advance if you’re not sure.

The number of people that can fit in a helicopter tour depends on the type of helicopter the tour operator uses. Most helicopters used for tours in Maui can accommodate between 4 to 7 passengers, including the pilot. However, there are also options for private tours or larger groups that can accommodate more passengers.

Motion sickness can affect individuals differently, and some may experience it during a Maui helicopter tour. The nature of helicopter flights, including maneuvers and changes in altitude, can contribute to motion sickness for susceptible individuals. To minimize the risk, taking motion sickness medication, sitting in a forward-facing seat, avoiding heavy meals before the tour, and focusing on the horizon or fixed points during the flight is advisable.

Air Maui Helicopter Tours

maui helicopter tour price

Our Air Maui rates quoted INCLUDE Hawaii tax and fuel surcharge.

Book early in advance to get morning flight times.

Maui … the Valley Isle … there is no place like it on Earth, and most of the island is remote and completely inaccessible. The only way to really see the island is from a helicopter. If you've never seen Maui from the air, you've never really seen the island! Air Maui offers four flight options summarized below. While exact routes and sights that you see will vary from flight to flight, we do recommend morning flight times ... morning is typically the clearest time of the day and clouds are less of a factor. In order to guarantee one of these morning flight times your reservation should be made well in advance of your arrival in Hawaii!

Air Maui offers a "front seat upgrade" for $50 per seat. Guests must purchase both front seats, and combined passenger weight must not exceed 380 pounds. Front seat upgrade is offered when you are entering your name and body weight during the second page of the reservation process started by the form on the right.

  • 45 minute Hana / Haleakala tour covers the lunar-like surface of Haleakala Crater, the "7 pools" of Oheo, Hana Town, and the rugged waterfall coastline of the north shore rain forest.
  • 60 minute Complete Island tour covers all the sites in the 45 minute Hana / Haleakala flight but also adds the highlights of the West Maui Mountains.
  • 45 minute West Maui / Molokai flight covers the coastline of the West Maui Mountains and then crosses the channel to the island of Molokai with its amazing 3,000 foot vertical sea cliffs and the tallest waterfall in the state of Hawaii.
  • 45 minute Doors-Off West Maui / Molokai flies the same flight path but offers a more adventurous experience as this tour is flown with the doors removed. It does add additional expense and there are strict limitations on what can be taken aboard during the flight (no cameras ... only cell phones which go inside a special case and held on by a lanyard that Air Maui provides.) Minimum age for doors-off flight is 10, and anyone age 10-18 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • 60 minute West Maui / Molokai flight adds additional time at Molokai, including aerial views of the Kalaupapa Penninsula (and Father Damien's leper colony) as well as more time to explore the West Maui Mountains. This is BY FAR our favorite flight and the one we most highly recommend!

Maui … the Valley Isle … there is no place like it on Earth, and most of the island is remote and completely inaccessible. The only way to really see the island is from a helicopter. If you've never seen Maui from the air, you've never really seen the island! BLue Hawaiian currently offers three flight options summarized below. While exact routes and sights that you see will vary from flight to flight, we do recommend morning flight times ... morning is typically the clearest time of the day and clouds are less of a factor. In order to guarantee one of these morning flight times your reservation should be made well in advance of your arrival in Hawaii!

  • 45 minute West Maui / Molokai tour covers the west side of Maui, then crosses the channel to the north shore of Molokai, home to the tallest sea cliffs in the world and the tallest waterfall in the state of Hawaii.
  • 60 minute Complete Island of Maui tour covers Haleakala Crater, the Hana Rainforest, and the West Maui Mountains.
  • 90 Minute Maui Spectacular is a 90 minute version of the Complete Island of Maui tour that also includes a ground stop at a remote landing location.

First Class Seating: Passengers will sit next to pilot in the front, with extra arm and leg room. There is a limit of 2 First Class passengers per flight. Maximum combined weight for two passengers on Whisper STAR First Class is 490 lbs. You may request First Class Seating when completing the passenger manifest after submitting the form on the right. The upgrade cost is ?95 per seat.

Soar above the Valley Isle with Sunshine Helicopter aboard the Whisper STAR. Two million years ago this island was created by the extinct West Maui Mountains, and the dormant volcano, Haleakala, which is 10,023 feet above sea level.

Haleakala (literally "house of the sun") is an immense moonlike crater with pure iron oxide cinder cones towering over 1,100 feet tall. You will see Kaupo and Ko'olau Gaps, where lava flowed from the crater to the sea.

You will glide over Hana's nearly uninhabited backside and see the Seven Pools and Lindberg's grave. The Hana Rain Forest extends for over 180 square miles along Maui's northern coast and is the largest tropical rain forest in our nation.

West Maui is one of the wettest places on earth with it's flowing waterfalls and luscious green valleys. Highlights include (weather permitting): the Wall of Tears with over 17 waterfalls flowing at once, and Maui's tallest waterfall, "Honokohau Falls", with over 1,100 foot drop. View the large resorts of Kaanapali and Kapalua along the West Maui coastline. Also, see Old Lahaina Town which was a quaint historic whaling harbor. Cruise by Launiupoko, Olowalu and Ukumehame valleys. Experience central Maui's sugarcane and pineapple fields.

  • 40-50 minute Hana / Haleakala tour includes Haleakala, Old Hana Town, Haleakala National Park, Kipahulu, the taro field of Ke'anae, breathtaking coastline waterfalls and the world famous Ho'okipa windsurfing beach on the return. Whale watching when in season.
  • 60-70 minute Maui Circle combines the West Maui, Hana and Haleakala views. Tour includes views of Old Hana Town, Haleakala National Park, Kipahulu, the taro field of Ke'anae, coastline waterfalls and the world famous Ho'okipa windsurfing beach on the return. Whale watching when in season.
  • 55-65 minute Molokai Deluxe includes the highlights of West Maui then whale watch (when in season) as you cross Pailolo channel between Maui's northwestern shore and Molokai's eastern coastline. Along Molokai's remote and isolated north shore, soar above Hawaii's tallest waterfalls, including the 1,750 foot Kahiwa Falls. . Molokai has the tallest sea cliffs in the world. Experience Halawa Valley with two large and beautiful waterfalls. Discover Molokai's Kalaupapa Peninsula, which for years was a settlement for people suffering from Hansen's disease (leprosy) and see Father Damien's monument.

NOTE: For passengers who weigh between 240-290 pounds, we recommend open seating on the Whisper STAR. If you are over 290 pounds you may require an additional comfort seat in the Whisper STAR. This policy is necessary because helicopters have limited internal space and overall passenger weights must be calculated prior to take-off to ensure that the vehicle's limitations are not exceeded. FAA regulations require all passengers and their carry-on items to be weighed at time of check-in.   CALL US with questions.

ACTIVITY TIPS

Kevin at Falls

It never ceases to amaze me that people spend thousands of dollars to come to Hawaii, but think it is too expensive to spend another $200-$250 to REALLY see the islands from a helicopter. There is so much beauty that you cannot see any other way. Do yourself a favor and SPLURGE! You will thank me.

Flying in a helicopter is like riding a magic carpet. They are much more stable than twin engine planes ... motion sickness is seldom an issue for anyone. They cut through the wind like a knife. Thrill seekers may wish for a more roller coaster-like experience, but the pilots fly a very gentle pattern. Don't expect plunging drops and steeply banked turns.

The best time for helicopter tours (as a rule) is in the morning hours, as cloud cover tends to get thicker throughout the afternoon. Don't feel badly if it looks cloudy just before your flight though ... helicopters can fly just under the cloud ceiling, which typically is around 4,000 feet. These clouds can add an element of mystery and beauty all their own. Check out some of the waterfall photos for an example.

All helicopter tours leave from the Kahului Airport. Plan on a 45 minute drive from Lahaina / Kaanapali Resorts, 60 minutes from Kapalua, 30 minutes from Kihei and 45 minutes from Wailea. Save yourself some driving ... consider planning the helicopter tour for early morning on the day that you drive to Hana.

Wear dark clothing for your helicopter flight. A light colored shirt will cause a reflection on the windows ... you won't notice it during your flight, but it shows up like crazy in any pictures you take. A polarizing filter on the front of your camera will also help remove window glare (and greatly improve pictures that you take of the ocean too).

A note about weight restrictions. Almost all companies in Hawaii charge extra for heavier passengers. This is not a matter of discrimination toward larger guests ... it is a business reality due to the spatial limitations of the passenger compartment. The cost and profit margins of the helicopter companies is based upon their helicopters flying with every seat occupied. If the helicopter holds 6 passengers and the size of a guest means that they can only comfortably seat 5, they are losing money. The "comfort seat" is exactly that ... it really does make everyone more comfortable. It also ensures that the helicopter's overall weight capacity is not exceeded, which makes this a SAFETY CONCERN as well.

Air Maui flies A-star helicopters , which are the industry standard in touring helicopters in Hawaii. Two passengers sit up front with the pilot and four sit in the second row. People often say to me, "But two people in the back seat don't get a window seat." True, but visibility from these helicopters is excellent ... you really get a 180 degree view no matter where you sit. Yes, it is cool to sit up front. But I like to describe the experience as sitting in a flying theatre. The decision on who sits where is made based solely on the body weight of the passengers and providing the best weight/balance for the aircraft.

Sunshine's WhisperSTAR helicopters have the same seating arrangement and visibility is nearly identical to the original A-star, but the cabin is a little roomier. Sunshine does offer a "First Class" guaranteed front seating upgrade (for a fee) although the front seats have a combined weight limit of 490 pounds. The wider cabin also gives more flexibility in body weights and they only require a comfort seat purchase in cases where a guest weighs over 290 pounds. (Air Maui requires a comfort seat for guests over 240 pounds.)

Air Maui and Sunshine both produce a live DVD video of your flight which is available for purchase after your flight. A multi-camera system allows the pilot to edit a video "on the fly" including shots inside the cabin so your relatives back home can see you during your flight, which makes a great souvenir.

My favorite flight is the West Maui / Molokai flight , which is available in a 45 minute and a 60 minute version with Air Maui or a 55-65 minute flight with Sunshine . Molokai has the tallest seacliffs in the world, and the tallest waterfall in the state of Hawaii. I am less crazy about the 45 minute Hana / Haleakala flight . It takes a lot of time to climb to 10,000 feet and take a peak into the crater, which is restricted air space. You get a similar view as if you drove to the top yourself. Then the rest of the flight seems to rush by.

What about the active volcano? Lots of people ask about a helicopter ride from Maui over Kilauea on the Big Island. It's just too far and not cost-effective to fly there in a helicopter. The best way to see Kilauea is to plan an overnight stay in Hilo. You can fly to Hilo on Hawaiian Airlines, have a rental car, do a helicopter flight, spend the night, then fly back the next day. The advantage of this itinerary is that when you spend the night there, you can drive to the volcano and do a little hiking and view the lava at night when it is far more spectacular! See our Active Volcano page for these packages.

Compliance status

Screen-reader and keyboard navigation.

  • Screen-reader optimization: we run a background process that learns the website’s components from top to bottom, to ensure ongoing compliance even when updating the website. In this process, we provide screen-readers with meaningful data using the ARIA set of attributes. For example, we provide accurate form labels; descriptions for actionable icons (social media icons, search icons, cart icons, etc.); validation guidance for form inputs; element roles such as buttons, menus, modal dialogues (popups), and others. Additionally, the background process scans all of the website’s images and provides an accurate and meaningful image-object-recognition-based description as an ALT (alternate text) tag for images that are not described. It will also extract texts that are embedded within the image, using an OCR (optical character recognition) technology. To turn on screen-reader adjustments at any time, users need only to press the Alt+1 keyboard combination. Screen-reader users also get automatic announcements to turn the Screen-reader mode on as soon as they enter the website. These adjustments are compatible with all popular screen readers, including JAWS and NVDA.
  • Keyboard navigation optimization: The background process also adjusts the website’s HTML, and adds various behaviors using JavaScript code to make the website operable by the keyboard. This includes the ability to navigate the website using the Tab and Shift+Tab keys, operate dropdowns with the arrow keys, close them with Esc, trigger buttons and links using the Enter key, navigate between radio and checkbox elements using the arrow keys, and fill them in with the Spacebar or Enter key.Additionally, keyboard users will find quick-navigation and content-skip menus, available at any time by clicking Alt+1, or as the first elements of the site while navigating with the keyboard. The background process also handles triggered popups by moving the keyboard focus towards them as soon as they appear, and not allow the focus drift outside of it.Users can also use shortcuts such as “M” (menus), “H” (headings), “F” (forms), “B” (buttons), and “G” (graphics) to jump to specific elements.

Disability profiles supported in our website

  • Epilepsy Safe Mode: this profile enables people with epilepsy to use the website safely by eliminating the risk of seizures that result from flashing or blinking animations and risky color combinations.
  • Visually Impaired Mode: this mode adjusts the website for the convenience of users with visual impairments such as Degrading Eyesight, Tunnel Vision, Cataract, Glaucoma, and others.
  • Cognitive Disability Mode: this mode provides different assistive options to help users with cognitive impairments such as Dyslexia, Autism, CVA, and others, to focus on the essential elements of the website more easily.
  • ADHD Friendly Mode: this mode helps users with ADHD and Neurodevelopmental disorders to read, browse, and focus on the main website elements more easily while significantly reducing distractions.
  • Blindness Mode: this mode configures the website to be compatible with screen-readers such as JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, and TalkBack. A screen-reader is software for blind users that is installed on a computer and smartphone, and websites must be compatible with it.
  • Keyboard Navigation Profile (Motor-Impaired): this profile enables motor-impaired persons to operate the website using the keyboard Tab, Shift+Tab, and the Enter keys. Users can also use shortcuts such as “M” (menus), “H” (headings), “F” (forms), “B” (buttons), and “G” (graphics) to jump to specific elements.

Additional UI, design, and readability adjustments

  • Font adjustments – users, can increase and decrease its size, change its family (type), adjust the spacing, alignment, line height, and more.
  • Color adjustments – users can select various color contrast profiles such as light, dark, inverted, and monochrome. Additionally, users can swap color schemes of titles, texts, and backgrounds, with over 7 different coloring options.
  • Animations – epileptic users can stop all running animations with the click of a button. Animations controlled by the interface include videos, GIFs, and CSS flashing transitions.
  • Content highlighting – users can choose to emphasize important elements such as links and titles. They can also choose to highlight focused or hovered elements only.
  • Audio muting – users with hearing devices may experience headaches or other issues due to automatic audio playing. This option lets users mute the entire website instantly.
  • Cognitive disorders – we utilize a search engine that is linked to Wikipedia and Wiktionary, allowing people with cognitive disorders to decipher meanings of phrases, initials, slang, and others.
  • Additional functions – we provide users the option to change cursor color and size, use a printing mode, enable a virtual keyboard, and many other functions.

Soar With Us in the Hawaiian Skies!

I took my son for a holiday gift and was a bit nervous, but the ride was very smooth and actually calming. It was an enjoyable ride and loved seeing all the breathtaking views from the a much different vantage point. It was an incredible experience that we’ll always remember.

The ground crew were efficient and helpful, our pilot was highly experienced, professional and very informative about the island, as well as being very entertaining. It was a great tour and a great experience - highly recommended.

Sunshine helicopters did an amazing job of flying our family into the Waimea canyon, thru the waterfalls and around the Napali coast. Our pilot was extremely skilled and a great guide of the sights! The flight was smooth and comfortable but we were in awe and amazement of the scenery.

So thankful for my daughter who read up about helicopter tours on our first visit to Kauai. No other way to experience the untouched beauty of this island. Happy with sunshine helicopters and enjoyed Steve, our pilot. Funny and informative, made the trip special! No regrets and got spectacular pictures!

A helicopter tour is a must on Kaua'i if you want to really see the island. Sunshine staff was great from the gals at the sign in, to the safety briefing and ride to the airport, and then the flight itself. We opted for the 1st class flight on the whisper helicopter and it was worth the small difference in price to sit in the two front seats for the unobstructed views. Our pilot, Jed, was great and provided tons of information about the island. This was one of the highlights of our trip.

Most excellent experience even on a very rainy day across Kauai. Don't let the rain stop you from going on the tour. Despite the rain, we were able to get a very clear view of every point on the island and the extra rain only added to the amount of waterfalls that were able to be seen. Our pilot and ground staff were all great. Highly recommend Sunshine Helicopters in Lihue.

My son and I sat up front in the Whisper Star, the experience was incredible! Jaw dropping, unreal beauty. Everyone I spoke to and met at Sunshine was friendly and professional. Jed, the pilot, is competent and pleasant. We had a great time and got the video. Unreal beauty on Kauai.

The helicopter tour was amazing - we saw all the best known spots and also some where no one has ever walked before. Our pilot made sure we also got some adrenaline rush, but just the right amount! He also provided us with great explanation of what we were seeing and what to look out for. Would definitely recommend!

This excursion was unbelievable! Could not have been any better. All staff were exceptional. In over 55 years of travel this was one of the best “adventures “ I’ve ever experienced

6 of the Best Islands To Visit in Hawaii

H awaii is home to some of the most sought-after tropical waters in the world. The islands of Hawaii have lush rainforests, world-class beaches, and stunning volcanoes that attract millions of visitors every year . Marked by clear turquoise waters and vibrant green mountains, these islands provide picturesque views that are unparalleled.

Along with the many environmental attractions and attributes of Hawaii, its culture is one of the most incredible features that travelers can experience. The Aloha Spirit, which many travelers get to experience as soon as they land, is a significant aspect of Hawaiian culture derived from Polynesian heritage. The term comes from the greeting “aloha,” which means the coordination of both the mind and heart (or compassion and harmony with mankind). This spirit exists across each of the islands of Hawaii.

Hawaii’s many different islands offer unique features and gorgeous views. Travelers can have many different types of vacations, depending on their preferred island. While there are a total of eight main Hawaiian islands, only some of them are accessible to visitors. Check out these six Hawaiian islands that are the best to visit; whether a bustling tropical paradise or secluded getaway sounds ideal.

Popular Tourist Islands

These islands are tourist hot spots and provide convenient central locations. These locations come with top-notch hotels, delicious food spots, and metropolitan cities close to the water. The islands are a must-see for travelers aiming to get acquainted with the city and locals.

The Big Island

The Big Island is full of hiking trails and beautiful parks and is known for its size. In fact, it has plenty of space for visitors with varying interests since it is the largest island in the United States (with over four thousand square miles of land). Beaches are one of the most beautiful spots to visit on the Big Island and a place for visitors to lounge, sunbathe, and have fun. A highly favored white sand beach is Mauna Kea, which is a half-mile long and extremely family-friendly. Mauna Kea is also the name of the nearby dormant volcano that is the world’s tallest mountain from (base to the summit), not to be confused with Mt. Everest (which is the tallest above sea level).

There are volcano sightseeing tours, stingray snorkel tours, and ship excursions on the Big Island. These activities, along with hiking, are the most popular. The Pololū Valley Trail is considered one of the most beautiful big island hikes since its overlook provides panoramic views of the nearby black sand beach.

The best time to visit Hawaii’s big island is between September and November. This is technically due to the price changes for rooms, which change because of lower volumes of visitors. Since Hawaii has generally consistent weather, there is not too much to be worried about in terms of sunshine. Hawaii’s temperatures usually range from the 70s to the 80s. Surfers may want to visit between December and March, although this time period is when prices surge.

The island is beloved for its glorious coasts and unique experiences . Haleakala National Park has Maui’s highest peak, Haleakala, which is the largest dormant volcano in the world. Many visitors opt to book sunrise and sunset tours at the Haleakala National Park, which must be booked well ahead of time since they are so popular. There is even an adults only luxury resort in Maui. This island may be an ideal option for travelers who want to prioritize romance or quiet environments.

Blue Hawaiian helicopter tours are another popular excursion that travelers can book to explore the island. With a helicopter tour of the island, travelers can get an aerial view of all the mountainsides and the scenic views of Maui.

Travelers should visit Maui during the shoulder season, that is, during spring or fall. In spring (between April and May) and fall (from September and November), visitors can experience moderate weather while also avoiding the higher prices and crowds that visit during summer and winter.

Oahu is well known since it is the site of Pearl Harbor and has one of the best shores for surfing. The tourism industry is thriving in Oahu, reflected in the quality of amenities and experiences it offers.

Some of the most exciting things to do in Oahu include nature and historical landmarks. In fact, some of the most popular sights of Oahu are unique nature sites like China Walls or Electric Beach , which seem to exist miraculously. Of course, there are also historical sites that can be traced back to distinct events. There are Pearl Harbor tours that visit the museum, memorial and visitor’s center to provide more in-depth information regarding the events of Pearl Harbor. Many of these tours depart from Waikiki, which is a popular district of the city of Honolulu , Oahu.

Between April and June and September and December, attractions are less crowded, temperatures are moderate, and prices for travel decrease. The shoulder season is the best time to visit since the summer and surfing season crowds have not hit yet.

Secluded Islands

These islands of Hawaii are great options for those who want to reconnect with nature and have a sense of solitude. With more sprawling land than people, these locations will surely be the fix that tropical travelers need.

Molokai

Molokai is one of the four islands within Maui County and is one of the least visited of the major Hawaiian islands. The island is only 38 miles long and has a proudly undeveloped coastline. Molokai provides an off-the-beaten path and small-town feel, so large-scale tourism will not be found here. People planning to visit Molokai must be cognizant of the island’s people and resources since environmental and cultural preservation are local concerns.

Molokai is a great place to have a relaxed and slow-going trip. Since the island is not commercially developed, there is a lot of wilderness. Enjoying the surrounding nature and the Aloha Spirit is the best way to spend time on Molokai. The most popular attractions are the Kalaupapa National Historical Park and Pāpōhaku Beach Park. The remote northern national park is a place of education and preservation and is actually only accessible by a mule ride, hiking tour or a small airplane. Pāpōhaku Beach Park (or three mile beach) has campsites, showers, and picnic facilities. Visitors will find that there is an abundance of space at the site since it is one of the longest white-sand beaches in Hawaii.

The best time to visit Molokai is during the dry season when there are moderate temperatures and less rain. Between April and June, visitors can expect temperatures between the high 70s and 80s. Generally, since Molokai has no crowds, travelers will not have trouble visiting the island throughout the year.

Kauai is the northernmost island in the Hawaiian chain and is known as the garden island since it is covered by tropical rainforest. The island also has breathtaking cliffs on the sea and beautiful flora and fauna. This destination has plenty of natural beauty and is a tropical paradise welcoming smaller towns like Waimea.

Travelers who love adrenaline-surging activities will appreciate the expanded possibilities that a less populated island provides. Travelers of Kauai enjoy things like exciting zipline journeys through the jungle, ATV backroads tours or kayaking trips on the Wailua River.

Visiting Kauai is better during non-peak seasons even though there is not a high volume of visitors compared to trendy tourist islands. Between September and December or April to June, there are lower prices on excursions and local accommodations .

Lanai offers a luxury and remote experience that many romantics enjoy. Lanai has a historic town named Lanai City with small restaurants and shops for travelers to explore. The city is technically more like a small village since the community is so small. This island is a popular day trip destination, allowing tourists to experience authentic island living.

Although the island is mainly uninhabited, there is plenty for visitors to see. There are unique sites to see on Lanai, including a well-known shipwreck at Shipwreck Beach (or Kaiolohia) that travelers go to see often. The 1940s shipwreck is a testament to how Hawaii’s windy and rocky beaches can be dangerous. Even though the beach has incredible views, visitors are not advised to swim there.

The best time to visit Lanai is between June and November since those months are the warmest and driest months. Lanai is a secluded island, so travelers do not have to be concerned with crowds and can spend their time relaxing.
