Lauren Daigle Announces Fall 2023 The Kaleidoscope Tour

lauren daigle on tour

Two-time GRAMMY® Award-winning singer-songwriter Lauren Daigle announces her much-anticipated US arena tour, set for fall 2023. The Kaleidoscope Tour kicks off on September 6 in Memphis, TN with entirely new and innovative stage production. The 30-city run will take Daigle across the country – from New Jersey’s Prudential Center (October 20) to LA’s Crypto.com Arena (November 10), with stops in Boston, Atlanta, and Seattle as well as cities in which Daigle hasn’t performed in nearly four years, including Baton Rouge, Baltimore and Tulsa.

The Kaleidoscope Tour will feature many of Daigle’s #1s, including her groundbreaking smash “You Say,” “Rescue,” “Look Up Child,” her new single “Thank God I Do,” as well as music from her forthcoming self-titled album which will include 20 songs released in two parts this spring and later this year.

Register now at www.laurendaigle.com to access the Lauren Daigle pre-sale beginning Tuesday, March 28 at 12pm local time. Citi cardmembers will have access to presale tickets beginning Wednesday, March 29 at 12pm local time until Thursday, March 30 at 10pm local time through the Citi Entertainment program. For complete presale details visit www.citientertainment.com . General on-sale is Friday, March 31 at 10am local time. Full routing below.

In addition, Daigle is also set to perform “Thank God I Do” on the Today Show next Thursday, March 30th – marking the song’s network television premiere. (Check local listings).

“Thank God I Do” is Lauren’s biggest first week streaming song across all DSPs, has been added to a record breaking 120+ radio stations across multi-formats in just its first week, and is her strongest single launch at radio to date. The song also received major acclaim with Billboard writing, “the piano ballad features the signature soar that fans have been waiting to return, but her voice has deepened with time, matching the epic sweep of the strings on the track and readying the masses for a prolonged showcase.”

“Thank God I Do” marks the launch of a new creative chapter for the multi-platinum selling, Louisiana-born artist, who just last month announced signing to Atlantic Records in partnership with longtime label home Centricity Music. With a creative team led by Grammy®-winning producer Mike Elizondo (Twenty One Pilots, Mary J. Blige, Fiona Apple, Carrie Underwood), and featuring co-writers Natalie Hemby, Shane McAnally, Amy Wadge, Lori McKenna, Jason Ingram and Jon Greene, to name a few, Lauren Daigle comprises twenty soulful and uplifting songs to be released in two parts. The first ten arrives May 12, and the other ten release later this year.

Listen to “Thank God I Do” HERE – Daigle’s first release via Atlantic Records/Centricity Music – and pre-save Lauren Daigle album HERE .

With over a billion streams and years of sold-out US and international tours to her name, Lauren Daigle continues to cement her status as a modern vocal powerhouse with a global, ever-growing fanbase.

Since the release of her GRAMMY® Award-winning, platinum-certified 2018 album Look Up Child – which includes the breakthrough hit single “You Say” – Daigle has been a mainstay on the Billboard charts. When Look Up Child debuted at No. 3 on the Top 200 Albums chart, Daigle became the first female artist in history to simultaneously hit the Top 10 on both Billboard’s Pop and Christian Album charts. She went on to break another record when the LP reached 100 weeks at No. 1 on the Top Christian Albums chart, which is the greatest number of weeks that any artist has spent at the top of any individual album chart. Similarly, the 5x platinum-certified “You Say” is the longest-running No. 1 to appear on any weekly Billboard chart.

Born in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Lauren Daigle is a two-time Grammy®, seven-time Billboard Music Award, four-time American Music Award, and ten-time GMA Dove Music Award winner.

Off stage, Daigle remains committed to investing her time to promote music education, work with at-risk youth, and provide care for children, the elderly, and those in need through The Price Fund, an organization she founded in 2018. To date, she has distributed over $2.4 million to 40 nonprofits around the world. DATE MARKET VENUE

Lauren Daigle is absolutely beautiful. She not only captivates the room with her voice and her music, but she has fun doing it, and it makes you want to get up and dance. The way the concert began with Still Rolling Stones (Lauren’s first song on the Look Up Child album) was absolutely incredible and brought chills. She loves to dance freely around the stage and have fun with the musicians and backup singers. I completely recommend going to see Lauren live, and I will definitely do it again if I get the chance.

I saw Lauren first in December for her Behold concert in Bob Carr, and I got the tickets for her Look Up Child tour as a surprise birthday present for my 16th birthday.... I cried then and I cried even more seeing Lauren come on the stage...

She inspires me to pursue music and to be a good person.

Great concert. I loved the experience of seeing Lauren Daigle in person. She had a great band and I love hearing her sing. I also enjoyed Scott Mulvahill as well. Next time I would like to see them at some place other than the Brady Theatre. I was very disappointed in the setup of the theatre. The bathrooms were terrible and the entrances/exits were awful considering how many people were present. I also didn’t like the fact that people were allowed to drink alcohol during a Christian performance.

I absolutely love Lauren’s music but seeing her amazingly real, sweet, funny and pure spirit bloom on stage made me love HER! Her voice is truly a gift from our wonderful creator and rivals the greatest vocalists of all time! The show was full of extremely talented individuals with funk, charisma, a bit of comedy and sass which left us feeling as if we were just hanging out with an old friend.

She is a true angel. Her music and performance were unbelievable. However I paid extra for the VIP Q&A prior to the concert. Once she was done with the Q&A, we waited about 45 minutes for the opening band, and then had to wait through his music to hear Lauren. Had I known I would have had to stand around for almost 2 hours, I would have skipped the Q&A.

Lauren Daigle put on an awesome experience for me and all that attended!

She is so giving of her time and life experiences, I was lucky enough to have a ticket which included the Q&A session.

She made you feel as though you were sitting in her livingroom! She gave me goosebumps the entire evening! Definitely can not wait to see her again!

An Amazing talented proformer and back up vocals and band were a stunning ensemble. It was an extremely engaging and down to earth proformance she would often share a short story with the crowd and came back on stage for a few more songs after the concert had finished. I would absolutely recommend going to attend one of her shows.

gloryolu121’s profile image

Super fun and Lauren's talent, voice and other group were awesome.

Only thing,I wish Lauren had introduced her song speaking a little about some of them. I think with some many young girls in the audience, she missed the opportunity to spread the kingdom message of Love.

yvonne-22’s profile image

I really enjoyed the show! Lauren just has this uplifting positive energy and it just brings everyone together to sing and praise the Lord. She was just amazing. I would so recommend her over anyone in my opinion. Best thing I've ever done in my life. The most fun I ever had!

Lauren was an absolutely thrill to see! She was very energetic and it was evident that she loves what she does. She was real and shared very personal stories of her songs. She is an excellent entertainer and I would love to go and see her a thousand times again!

haley-fennell’s profile image

Lauren was absolutely FANTASTIC. She had great energy and is so so so sweet. She did a fabulous, intimate show and her voice was stunning! You could feel her love for God and Jesus and her smile was lit from within and above. Masterful and so full of grace.

A Lauren Daigle Foundation - EST 2017

Growing up near New Orleans, Lauren quickly learned that no one is a stranger; her home has always had an open door. Her family would welcome in those in need and neighbors alike. For Lauren, this created a value of diversity and an understanding of humanity’s uniqueness. Because of this, she founded The Price Fund to honor and memorialize her grandfather who taught her how to love the world one relationship at a time. Lauren’s mission is to instill hope and love among all people, no matter their background. She invests time into people and actively works to heal wounds and injustices experienced by others. At its core, the Price Fund is designed to establish care for children, elderly, and those in need around the world through communal initiatives and outreach.

Growing up in Louisiana, you never meet a stranger. My community means everything to me, and it is always growing. From the people who gather around the kitchen table for coffee to friends who feel like family, a neighbor you can ask to borrow sugar, even someone new you run into on the street. I love the welcoming spirit of my home state! I also love what I do. Singing and performing fills me up, unlike anything else! You don’t always get to see all the work behind-the-scenes that happens every day: designing album art, making countless decisions about how a tour will look and feel, finding great partners for The Price Fund, even working on new music! ;-) When dreaming up an online community, I wanted to connect with y’all in an authentic way to who I am while sharing unprecedented access to everything that is happening on Team LD. Since we do everything with pizzazz in Louisiana, the name had to have a little cajun flare. It was inspired by beloved New Orleans and the groups or krewes that create the vibrant floats and parades of Mardi Gras.

Set List: Lauren Daigle’s Kaleidoscope Tour

The theme of Lauren Daigle's Kaleidoscope Tour was reportedly inspired by the variety of people in the crowds from night to night, city to city. Daigle, who has long been expanding the definition of contemporary Christian music as well as the makeup of its fanbase, prides herself on a personal brand built on inclusivity. Fittingly, the tour will include rooms specifically designed for those with sensory needs and sensitivites. Along with many of her biggest hits (“You Say,” “Rescue,” “Look Up Child”), she's performing “Thank God I Do” and other songs from her recently released self-titled double album. Whether you’re prepping for an upcoming show or revisiting one you recently attended, explore the tour's set list and put yourself in the crowd.

Lauren Daigle, a Christian Music Superstar, Is Ready for a Bigger Tent

The 31-year-old singer and songwriter is releasing a self-titled album on a major label — and bracing for the potential backlash.

A black-and-white close-up of Lauren Daigle, with her hands reaching toward the camera and a ribbon knotted at her neck.

By Rob Tannenbaum

“I’m terrified,” Lauren Daigle said with a broad smile rather than any evident terror. It was six weeks before the release of her new self-titled album, and the biggest singer in contemporary Christian music (CCM) was sitting in a lounge at the midtown Manhattan offices of Atlantic Records, glowing with positivity.

Daigle, a vivacious 31-year-old with a whimsical streak that’s evident in her colorful wardrobe, has crossed over into the pop world with greater success than anyone since Amy Grant in the early ’90s . But this is the first time she’s written love songs that aren’t about religious faith, and she’s worried that people will hear them as references to her personal life, rather than ruminations about universal experiences.

“I’m all about writing songs to help people through things they’re questioning,” she said.

“Lauren Daigle,” due May 12, will also be her debut on a major label, after releasing three albums on Centricity Music, a Nashville indie, and it will likely propel her further into the public eye. Later this year, she’ll headline her first arena tour.

The United States has become a much more divided and combustible country since Grant’s heyday, and Daigle is no newcomer to navigating the lion’s den. She has been caustically criticized within the Christian community for some of her choices, especially for appearing on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” hosted by a lesbian celebrity, in 2018. All performers are carefully scrutinized in the social media age, but CCM artists live under a unique microscope, and much of the audience is unforgiving.

“I can’t imagine the stress artists are under now,” said Brandon Woolum, the managing editor of the long-running publication CCM Magazine. “They have to make sure they don’t say that wrong thing that gets them canceled.” Any article his site runs about Daigle or Grant draws complaints from readers, Woolum added. “People are still mad at Amy.”

Even in the past, some Christian artists, notably Grant and the stars Sandi Patty and Michael English, have been repudiated by fans for having affairs or getting divorced. English later denounced the Christian music industry as “a sick world.” Is Daigle worried that one mistake could damage her career in CCM?

“Yes, one million-trillion percent,” she said. “For a long time, I lived my life confined, to make sure people think highly of me, and it made me miserable.” Her new mission is to remain unrestrained.

Daigle grew up amid the brackish wetlands of Lafayette, La., counting alligators on the drive over to visit her grandparents, and for her new album (which will be released by Atlantic in partnership with Centricity), she wanted to redirect her music away from light, acoustic soft-rock toward a more soulful, Southern sound. She recorded the album, and another that will follow in the late summer, with the producer Mike Elizondo, whose credits include Fiona Apple and Carrie Underwood, as well as Eminem and 50 Cent.

She wrote some songs with Shane McAnally , a Nashville hitmaker who is gay. And because the themes on her album are less faith-based than in the past, she knows some will count what’s referred to in the CCM world as JPMs (mentions of Jesus Per Minute) and find the music too worldly.

“I’ve seen people ask, ‘Is Lauren Daigle even a Christian anymore?,’” she said. “At this point, it’s to be expected, so it doesn’t bother me.”

In a radio interview after the DeGeneres fracas, Daigle summed up her view of Scripture. Anyone who expected her to shun gay people had “completely missed the heart of God,” she said. “Be who Christ was to everyone as well.” This brought more opprobrium, including a Christian Post column that scoffed, “Lauren, dear sister in Christ, you failed this test.”

Does Daigle, who identifies as nondenominational, feel that Christ’s messages have been widely corrupted? “Oh, absolutely. I have seen people use what He said to promote an agenda and keep people controlled. You have a lot of power if you’re telling someone their eternal destiny.”

Grant, a friend, praised Daigle’s “lovely” voice, adding that “the dynamics of her own life give her a deep compassion for other people.” As for the criticisms Daigle has faced, “My response is, God is good, people are a mess — all of us.”

Christian rock began in the late 1960s and early ’70s, when it was known as “Jesus Music,” a grass-roots movement led by longhaired hippie outsiders. It gradually built its own infrastructure of record stores, media, festivals and radio stations. Major labels took notice, and began to buy up Christian labels or start imprints of their own.

The first schism came over the Amy Grant generation of crossover artists who played songs that could be interpreted as devout or romantic, a middle ground known derisively in some CCM circles as the “Jesus is my boyfriend” or the “God or a girl” phenomenon. But Daigle’s crossover, close observers say, was different.

“Lauren represented a new type of stardom on unapologetically confessional terms,” said Joshua Kalin Busman, an assistant professor of music history at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. “She left no ambiguity in her music and spoke transparently about her personal relationship to God.”

As a child, Daigle dismissed Christian music as cheesy. She was raised in a religious home that welcomed secular music, as long as there “weren’t F-bombs every five seconds,” she said. She got in trouble a lot at school, for cheating or talking too much. She believes she has ADHD, and also mentions “some OCD” and a few episodes of depression.

As her interest in music grew, she cleaned her church choir director’s bathroom in exchange for singing lessons. But she also became ill, with symptoms that included extreme fatigue, jaundice and worsening vision. She eventually learned she had cytomegalovirus, a chronic illness, and began home-schooling using a syllabus and a set of VHS tapes as her guide: “That was the season that changed the trajectory of my life.”

She started reading the Bible and had visions of herself as a music star. “I could literally see stages and tour buses. I said, ‘God, are you showing me this, or am I losing my mind?’ I think it was God, because everything I saw has come to pass.”

In 2010 and 2012, she was an untelevised contestant on “American Idol.” She also enrolled at Louisiana State University and sang background vocals with the Assemblie, a U2-ish Christian rock group in Baton Rouge, which drew the attention of Centricity Music.

Her first single, “How Can It Be,” hit No. 5 on Billboard’s Christian singles chart, the first of 14 songs that have breached its Top 10, including five No. 1s, a record for a female singer. “You Say,” from 2018, spent 129 weeks as the most popular Christian song, and reached Number 29 on the Billboard Hot 100. It has a brooding, almost gothic quality, and showcases her flexible alto, which is full of range and power and often draws comparisons to Adele.

“You Say” was still ruling the Christian chart when the pandemic began. As with her first outbreak of cytomegalovirus symptoms, isolation and illness proved transformative.

In November 2020, Daigle appeared at a New Orleans worship event organized by Sean Feucht, a provocateur who used “religious freedom” as an excuse to challenge lockdown regulations, and she faced harsh backlash . As with the DeGeneres flap two years earlier, Daigle cried for days, she told me.

A year later, Daigle contracted the coronavirus and had migraines for months. Her post-Covid symptoms were worse. She used to go skydiving and cliff jumping, but now she suffered panic attacks, anxiety and bouts of paranoia. She started counseling, and simultaneously wrestled with the question of why so many white Evangelicals supported Donald Trump, and the attendant divisiveness in the country.

“Dealing with post-Covid symptoms paired with the animosity that plagued our nation brought me to one of the lowest points of my life,” she said. “I had to do a deep dive on who I was.”

Eventually, Daigle began to feel divine love present in the care showed by people close to her, and she wrote “Thank God I Do,” a bruised ballad that’s one of the highlights of her self-titled album.

Her two health crises strengthened her “tenacity and resilience,” she said. Criticism and rejection reinforced her resolve to follow a personal understanding of Scripture, rather than that of a church or minister, a practice that goes back hundreds of years, to the founding of Protestantism.

“It’s not to say that criticism and animosity doesn’t hurt,” she concluded, “but I do have that confidence piece that will always get me back up on my feet.”

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- In terms of crossover appeal, platinum contemporary Christian music singer-songwriter Lauren Daigle is at the height of her power.

The two-time Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter is breaking new ground as not only the hottest singer on the Contemporary Christian Music chart but also the pop-minded Billboard 200.

On Thursday night (May 30), Daigle brought her joyful “The Kaleidoscope Tour” to Northeast Ohio with listeners of The Fish (WHFM-FM) filling up Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse’s floor and lower bowl.

Unlike any other genre, where acts must constantly evolve stylistically or risk losing relevance, contempoary Christian artists are driven to present the Word in a new fashion with inventive songwriting often falling a far second.

Obviously, there’s nothing wrong with that approach, but it makes reviewing a Christian show a tricky affair in that the unimpeachable spiritual message for the majority of concertgoers was the appeal.

More so, Daigle’s mainstream success has successfully been built around uplifting songs that if squinted at properly come across as secular empowerment but also are packed with a spiritual message.

With that in mind, Daigle -- a Louisiana native who stressed numerous times she’s an LSU Tigers fan but claimed to root for Ohio State otherwise, despite the fact she referred to the college as “Ohio” -- delivered a youth-group friendly message and performance to her loyal audience.

However, the nearly two-hour show was a bit uneven -- bookended by Daigle’s jambalaya pop, R&B and soul sounds with more devotional church service material highlighting the middle.

Supported by a five-piece band, a bubbly horn section (a second line of sorts) and soulful backing vocalists, Daigle kicked off the night with recent top-20 Christian radio hit “These Are The Days” -- from her 2023 self-titled third studio album -- setting the colorful tone of the evening.

The bass-heavy track was followed by the soul-sounding “Waiting,” poppish “New” and funky “Look Up Child.”

Mostly all were delivered as recorded but in the end seemed creatively lacking.

Any momentum Daigle built quickly slowed down when while gracing the catwalk, talking about life, her attention digressed to a handful of young fans -- her bread and butter.

She ended up bringing the kids onto the stage for what felt more like an extended wholesome church service experience than a concert.

Albeit a showstopper (and not necessarily the good kind), the intimate moment was special with the dutiful audience truly getting to experience the kindhearted Daigle they love.

This was followed by a performance set of spiritual-heavy songs “Kaleidoscope Jesus,” “Rescue” and “Salvation Mountain.”

The latter found Daigle and her audience joyfully hitting the high notes.

Considering her most recent No. 1 track, “Thank God I Do,” was semi-buried inside of an end-of-set, outer-stage medley, one got the sense fans would have been happy with a standalone presentation.

While the performances may have left this reviewer oftentimes wanting more, Daigle delivered the exact show her audience expected ending with the powerful “You Say.”

The night kicked off with the acoustic pop sounds of Christian singer Ellie Holcomb, who did a serviceable job warming up the already raptured audience.

The highlight of her short set was the broken anthem “Constellations,” which reminded folks they’re less alone with mental health struggles than they know.

Entertainment | lauren daigle lights up little caesars arena with joyous positivity.

Christian pop singer Lauren Daigle performs Wednesday night, May 29, at Little Caesars Arena (Photo by Jacob Giampa/313 Presents)

Daigle’s concert Wednesday night, May 29, at Detroit’s Little Caesars Arena was her largest in the market to date, even without the presence of a crossover hit like her record-breaking, six-times platinum 2018 smash “You Say.” The Louisiana native did experience some backlash from her Christian core over that, but last year’s “Lauren Daigle” album was her fourth No. 1 on the Top Christian Albums chart, and on Wednesday Little Caesars was filled with fans who seemingly never doubted Daigle’s devotion.

In return she gave them a nearly two-hour concert that can only be described as pleasant and uplifting, filled with positive spirit and life-affirming intent, and largely free of existential angst. “This is gonna be a fun one,” Daigle declared early on. “This is gonna be a rowdy one. It’s gonna be what we call in Louisiana joie de vivre — joy of life.” And that joy was infectious, regardless of your belief system.

Daigle — sporting an embroidered vest, pink pants, colorful tennis shoes and forearms full of friendship bracelets — and her brassy 12-piece band channeled her home state at the start of the show with the Second Line choreography of the “Lauren Daigle” track “These are the Days,” waving handkerchiefs as they strode along a ramp that took the ensemble deep into the arena floor. With a constant smile as bright as any of the stage lights, Daigle kept the energy high through songs such as “Waiting,” “New,” “Look Up Child” and “Trust in You,” while opening act Ellie Holcomb joined her for the devotional “He’s Never Gonna Change.”

Daigle took plenty of time to chat on Wednesday — about faith, moving to Nashville and ChildFund, an organization on hand to get concertgoers to sign up to sponsor children in developing nations (457 did so at Little Caesars, according to Daigle). She called out specific fans by name, dedicated one song to a sign-holder’s mother who was battling cancer and pulled an 11-year-old fifth grader named Olivia on stage to singer a verse of “These Are the Days,” which she’d used to win a school talent contest.

The show’s intimate, unplugged section at the end of the ramp — designed after Nashville’s famed Bluebird Cafe, she explained — included “Saint Ferdinand” and a medley of Daigle’s “Everything” and “Thank God” with Elevation Worship’s “Do It Again” and Chris Tomlin’s “Good Good Father,” the latter two sung by Daigle’s female back-up singers. “How Can It Be” was straight out of Sunday mass, while “O’ Lord,” “Turbulent Skies” and “Still Rolling Stones” torqued the energy up again, leading to an emotive finish with the torchy “You Say.”

Daigle’s come a long way from singing a few songs during the Winter Jam Tour eight years ago at the Palace of Auburn Hills to headlining an arena in her own right. And it’s a safe bet it won’t be the last time we see her there.
