You can try the flyboard and tubing towed with a speedboat. The city tour was average but the guide was very, very nice. You basically drive around and the guide will point out landmarks then drop you off to wander on your own for 15-20 minutes. We never did go to the Dubai Museum or Dubai Heritage Village. The terrible stop was an “art museum” which was actually a very thinly veiled sales pitch to buy expensive things. I felt like a lamb that has been duped into walking into the slaughterhouse. An offensive waste of time and a betrayal of my trust in this tour operator. After the city tour, you will dropped off and left to wander around and try to find your guide for the desert safari. For the desert safari, I was fortunate enough to get Naveed as my guide. He was so sweet, considerate and took great care of me. I ended up on tour with a group of five guys who might not have been happy to see me at first but we ended up all good friends. Naveed made sure we didn’t get ripped off anywhere and was an awesome dune bashing driver. The best part of the desert safari was Naveed and the dune buggy experience. The worst part was the flat tire (which took forever to fix on the highway in the heat) and ultimately TEN HOURS straight of zero food. When we finally got food at the Oasis Palm, it wasn’t even good (and I was literally starving). After the flat tire debacle, I had to buy my own water and water for the guys. I’m not sure how the tour operator thinks it’s a good experience to go ten hours without sustenance. But it could have been better in many ways. We were picked up from our hotel in a nice white SUV. You will see many such SUVs heading to the desert. We were driving slower than everyone else because of an underinflated tire, but all was generally well. We arrived at the dunes and had noted that we did not plan to rent quad bikes etc. When we arrived we basically waited in a big common area full of people trying to sell you add ons to the experience. There was limited seating for us, and just a lot of waiting around - for more than an hour. Then we went dune bashing in the SUV and that was AWESOME. It was thrilling and a bit scary in a good way. It was really exciting. We did some sand boarding as well and everyone was having fun. We then drove to the camp for dinner. We were again offered to be upsold to a better dinner, better this, better that. Always being upsold. Dinner was basic but enjoyable enough, without the upgrade. The camel ride was odd, as one of the camp people was yelling at the camel owner as he tried to take my family on a short circular route next to the parking lot. The show was interesting, especially the fire guy> All in all an enjoyable evening but with some areas for improvement. Less waiting around and less upselling would be great. The issues were numerous: Firstly, the driver was impolite and had poor communication skills, giving the impression that he was not satisfied with his job. Secondly, despite arriving between 12:30-1:00pm, we nearly missed the initial part of the tour. Blaming it on the peak season was not an acceptable excuse, as they should have been prepared for potential delays. Thirdly, upon reaching Musandam, we were informed that we would be joining a different boat, which was unexpected and not communicated beforehand. Fourthly, being four girls among a boat full of men raised safety concerns. While the operator claimed it was a shared boat, they should have prioritized the safety and comfort of their customers. Fifthly, the website advertised a maximum of 15 people on the boat, but in reality, there were around 75 individuals, leading to overcrowding and discomfort. Sixthly, when we raised our concerns, the operator failed to provide any solutions. Instead, they asked us, four ladies, to wait until 5 pm for other guests to finish, leaving us stranded without accommodation or food until 3 pm. This forced us to arrange our own transport back to Dubai at an additional cost. Seventhly, there was no apology from any of the staff or the owner for the inconveniences we faced throughout the trip. Please note, that jet skis are powerful machines that can reach speeds up to 100km/h. While they are stable and easy to maneuver, they still need careful handling. As such, you’ll be guided by an instructor all along who’ll take care of the safety issues.

• Dubai’s Jumeirah Beach is the meeting point for the Jet Ski sport
• The 30-minute ride has you skiing by the coastline in the company of an instructor for your safety. The trip starts from the Marina and after a ride around the iconic sail-shaped 7-Star hotel, the Burj Al Arab, you’ll be returning to the Marina
• The 60-minute ride first takes you to the Burj Al Arab where you’ll stop for a photo op. This will be followed by you skiing towards His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Island along the coastline taking in amazing views of Dubai’s skyline. If you’re lucky enough, you might spot his luxurious yacht anchored there. You’ll finally ski to the Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) and then return to the Marina after a thrilling ride you won’t ever forget

How Should I Reach the Venue?

By Bus: Get off at Jumeirah Beach Residence Station 2 bus stop after taking any of the buses 8, 84, or N55. You are only a 7-minute walk away from the meeting point.

By Tram:  Get off at the Jumeirah Beach Residence 2 tram stop after boarding tram 11. You can reach the meeting point after just a 3-minute walk.

By Waterbus: You’ll need to get off at the Marina Promenade Waterbus Station after taking waterbus BM1. The meeting point is only a 10-minute walk away.

• Pregnant women, those with chronic backache or neck pain, or those with broken limbs are advised not to take this ride
• Avoid taking heavy food or alcohol shortly before or after the activity
• All participants must be capable of swimming or treading water

• Breakages or damages will be charged for at actual

How much does it cost to jetski in Dubai?

The cost of jet skiing in Dubai varies depending on the provider and the length of the tour. Most tours typically start from $80 USD (294 AED) for 30 minutes. Life jackets and locker rentals are included in the price for most places.

Most jet skis you can fit two people on the jetski also and the charge is per jetski rather than per person.

You can take your own towel and waterproof bag or pouch if you don’t wish to pay extra to rent one. Tips are also not included and are at the discretion of each customer.

What to wear and things to pack for Jet Skiing

I’d recommend going with your swim clothes underneath your normal clothes as it will make it easier to get ready and changing rooms may not be available at some locations or may be further away. It’s okay to wear a bikini, wet suit, swimming shorts or burkini, whatever you feel more comfortable in.

• UV goggles or sunglasses
• Wet suit shoes or wet shoes (optional)
• Waterproof pouch for your phone or camera

It’s best to take something to protect your eyes, as the spray of salt water can make it difficult to see if you don’t use goggles or glasses. The majority of jet ski places have these to hand. Also if you plan to try and use your own sunglasses, again you’ll need special ones that tightly grip or you may end up losing them as you go over a wave.

Finally, it’s good to have a waterproof pouch to put your phone in that fastens to you securely, as it’s nice to take some of your own photos with your phone or camera. If you own a Go Pro that can be perfect for shooting video and taking photos in more extreme conditions.

I personally quite like having wet shoes as it just gives you a bit more grip and makes my feet feel more protected.
