Don’t get obsessive about booking on the day it goes on sale. The website will crash. It is inevitable and can’t be stopped. Complaining, freaking out, going into hysterics, etc., is not going to resolve the problem, so it’s just best to keep rational about the whole thing. There is a possibility that you won’t get your cabin on the first day everything goes on sale. Get on the wait list as soon as you can with Rose Tours. Of all of the people who book the day everything goes on sale, I would say about a third to half of them are going to pull out before everything is said and done. There is a great chance you’re going to get on the boat whether it’s through the wait list or a direct arrangement with someone selling their spot. Where there is a will, there’s a way, and if you’re meant to be on the boat, you’ll be there.

If you are disabled, contact Rose Tours immediately after booking. There are a limited number of wheelchair accessible cabins in most price ranges. More disabled fans cruise with NKOTB than an average cruise, so there won’t be enough cabins to go around. You have to request disability forms from Rose Tours, fill them out, and fax them back right away. Accessible cabins are handed out on a first come first serve basis. They won’t assign your cabin right away but they will keep the paperwork for when they do assignments.

Don’t book your flight or hotel until after the holidays. This one may not work for you but I find that it’s best to wait until after the November payment to make travel arrangements. Usually people who have to cancel will do so by January from what I’ve seen. You never know what can happen between now and then, so just concentrate on making your payments for now. Also, flights tend to be rather expensive depending on the season and the day of the week. Prices typically drop after the holidays and are lower on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Start monitoring airfare and watch how it goes up and down. Last year I watched carefully and my flight dropped from $350 to $150. That’s a big savings right there.

Pack light, comfortable clothes and flat shoes. I see it happen every day on the cruises when people think they’re going to dress in perfect, cute little outfits, but when they get there, they end up in shorts, tank tops and flip flops. That part of the world can be very hot, humid and windy. Frilly little dresses look cute in the mall but they’re not very practical. It’s especially true for shoes. Most people pack a bunch of high heels not anticipating how much standing and walking they’re actually going to do. I wasn’t even walking and my feet were swollen for three days after I got home. Limit your dressing up to nighttime when there are themes. Just be aware that your feet are going to be screaming at you the higher your heels go. Let’s be real here – your clothes are not going to get you into bed with a New Kid. Be practical.

Don’t fly in the day of the cruise. I made this mistake the first time and got to the port with only 20 minutes to spare. It’s better to fly in the day before to leave room for delays. You really need a good night’s sleep beforehand too. Don’t rush yourself. There will be plenty of rushing on the boat.

Remember this is YOUR VACATION, not stalk NKOTB 24/7! People who typically don’t enjoy themselves are the ones who are solely focused on tracking down the guys for personal time all day, all night, without rest. They expect to pal around with the guys all the time and get pushy and mean when other people get time with them instead. People who don’t enjoy themselves are the ones who forget they’re in the middle of paradise with drinks, food, swimming, music, beautiful scenery, and so on and so forth. How much fun you have on the cruise is relative and proportional to your expectations going into it. Expect a great time with your friends and maybe seeing the guys a little bit and that’s exactly what you will get. Expect a tough time of fighting people, being pushy, gossipy, catty, rude, etc., to get a few seconds of facetime surrounded by 2,000 other people and that’s exactly what you will get.

Do not scream and chase the guys. Yes, it happens. A girl screamed when she saw Jon and he took off running. The people clogging the guys’ cabin level for a glimpse is pushing it too far too. If the guys are clearly off duty, just smile, wave or say hi, and keep moving. Why? Because if they feel like they’re being chased, they won’t hang around. If you are cool, they are cool. Remember that if you are feeling exhausted from being up so late drinking and dancing every night, then the guys are just as tired – probably more because they have to be “on” and performing almost the entire four days. Cut them a little slack. I have found that if they don’t feel pursued, they will mingle around more. They do their best to get around to everyone, so there is no need to push or shove or act crazy. Be patient and your time will come. Most of my best moments happened totally by accident, not because I was hunting down a New Kid.

Don’t ditch your friends for a New Kid or VIP. I’ve seen this happen so much. People get an opportunity to go up to VIP and boom, it’s like their friends don’t exist anymore. Be aware of your friends’ feelings. Last year, VIP was not great. In fact, Donnie told me I was better off down on the deck with the pool because it was more fun there. They overcrowd VIP and you’re not even mingling with the guys. They have their own inner VIP within the general VIP. So many people pushed and shoved at the bottom of both staircases that it was ridiculous but when I saw where they were going, it looked pretty pointless to me. They were packed like sardines up there and the guys didn’t really visit them any more than non-VIP people down below. If my choice was to drink and dance with my friends or get picked to go up to VIP and get crammed up there by myself for a minute or two of facetime, I would choose my friends.

Listen to your body regarding the heat, dehydration and sleep. I had a good vantage on the pirate ship of what everybody was doing on Half Moon Cay. Several people were down with the heat because they were drinking too much alcohol and not enough water. The beach is hot as hell. If you don’t keep hydrated, you are going to succumb to the heat. Several girls passed out and refused to go back to the ship for medical care because they wanted to see the guys. Ladies, New Kids are not worth your health! Seriously! Also, please pace yourselves. Four days is a bit long to stay up all night every night. You are going to run yourselves into the ground if you don’t make time to go to sleep. Catch a nap by the pool during the day and try to get to bed by 3 am at least one or two nights. Trust me. Your body will thank you for the sleep.

Use the stairs if you are not disabled. The elevators are notoriously slow on these cruise ships, especially when hordes of people are trying to use them at the same time. If you see people with disabilities waiting for the elevator on the ship, please consider the stairs. I am always a bit frustrated when people who can use stairs shove ahead of those with mobility limitations to get on the elevator. Another option if you don’t want to use the stairs is to be kind and allow those who actually need the elevator to go first and wait for the next one. Remember that disabled passengers don’t have an alternate route. We have to take elevators and many times, half the elevators are locked for security or because staff are moving equipment.

Be kind to the staff, security, and NKOTB too. They are all working very hard for us and they need a kind word every now and then. Think of a job you’ve had where it’s nothing but people yelling and complaining at you. It wasn’t very fun, was it? Being nice always wins out over being rude. Security in particular are more likely to help you and look after you if you are nicer to them. It’s very simple – treat others as you want to be treated.

Stop, look around, and soak in the moment. These cruises are so fast-paced and full of activity. You really need to remind yourself sometimes to stop and soak in the moment, especially when things are getting crazy and you find yourself being drawn into drama. Remember that thousands of people would give anything to be on that boat who are not, so relax and soak in the moment. Getting sucked into drama is just going to take away from your experience. You’re paying a lot of money to be on that boat, so just walk away and go dance with your friends. It’s not that serious!

>Great Blog! I actually wish the guys had a little less to do. That last day we waited over three hours in the photo line, and I was exhausted, I feel for the boys who had to endure that ALL DAY! IMO that should have been it for the day, but they still had other things to do! I know I personally would have liked a little more relaxation for me, as well as them.

>Thank you for sharing this (and your blogs about your experiences on the cruises). They (ground control) should issue this to everyone as an email. angiegirlie (on Twitter)

>Couldn't have said it better myself. 🙂

Hi it’s good to hear about your experience on the cruise as a disabled person. I’m disabled myself and am considering going on the cruise maybe next year-if they’re still going. I just wondered how you managed the practicalities, being a wheelchair user. To be honest it sounds like some of the fans can get a bit lairy and I don’t fancy having to wade my way through from A to B in my wheelchair and I am also frequently pissed off by people’s lack of consideration and understanding when I need to use a lift, or even the disabled toilet-apparenently it’s ok for non disabled ppl to abuse the 1 disabled loo if there’s a queue for the other 20 cubicles in the Ladies. It’s also ok if you want to take all your mates in to re-touch your make up and have a 20 min chat whilst some (slightly fuming) disabled person is crossing their legs outside (not that I’m bitter, hehe)! Also what was your room like? It worries me that disabled room allocation seems to be a last minute affair. Id be travelling from the UK, and it sounds a bit stressful, not knowing until I arrived. What types of rooms are available? I couldn’t find any info on the website, it just said to ask when booking and I’ve found that many cruise ships only have inside accessible rooms, e.g no balcony. Was there a disabled viewing area for shows etc? How’s access in general? Thanks for taking the time to write the blog, and I’d be grateful for any more useful tips you could give me.

What are the photo ops and meet and greets like? Do you go in a group for your photos?

Cruises can be a great vacation idea, especially if you’re not overly interested in trip planning.

One of the most significant benefits of a cruise is that much of the work is done for you, including the itinerary, dining and entertainment options. That convenience can sometimes come with a big price tag, so it’s normal to wonder, “Are cruises worth it?”

Let’s look at the different aspects of cruising, what’s included on a cruise and how that compares against other vacations.

What’s included on a cruise

One of the best parts about a cruise is that it's all-inclusive, at least to a certain degree.

The true extent of what’s included will depend on your cruise line and any packages that you have, but in general, here’s what's included:

Meals, including fast food, sit-down restaurants and some room service.

Other live entertainment.

Pool access and pool towels.

Water, coffee and tea.

Housekeeping.

Port taxes.

» Learn more: Smart tips for getting the best deal on your next cruise

What’s not included on a cruise

The free options are likely more than enough to keep you entertained, but if you’re interested in more, the following items typically incur additional costs:

Specialty beverages.

Specialty restaurants.

Spa treatments.

Gift shop purchases.

Excursions.

Some onboard events, such as wine tastings and cooking classes.

Gratuities.

Some cruise lines allow you to bring a limited selection of alcohol onboard.

Pros and cons of a cruise

Is a cruise worth it? It can be, though you’ll want to weigh the pros and cons of your cruise before deciding to book. Here are a few benefits and drawbacks to most cruise vacations:

As you can see, many of the positives of booking a cruise come from convenience. A cruise allows you to pay a single company, after which you’ll be able to enjoy your vacation.

Even if you spend more, you’re still only dealing with a single business and one point of sale. It’s simple and takes far less effort than researching all of your destinations, finding which activities are available, booking accommodations and figuring out where to eat.

But along with the convenience comes a lack of flexibility. Sure, you may be glad to stop at whatever port the cruise line chooses, but what if you’d like to stay overnight? What if you’ve already been to the location and prefer to go elsewhere?

As a guest aboard a ship, you have little control over where you’re going and how long you’ll be there.

And because most cruises aren’t totally all-inclusive , you may spend more than you planned once you're onboard. If you want to enjoy a few alcoholic drinks, dine at a specialty restaurant or take a guided onshore excursion, the additional costs can add up quickly.

Comparing a cruise to other vacations

So what does it look like when you compare a cruise with other vacations? A trip has many different aspects, including flights, accommodation, meals, activities and more.

Here’s a look at a five-night Eastern Caribbean cruise from Carnival , which is typically a more budget-friendly cruise line.

It takes off in mid-July and makes three stops across five nights, including Turks and Caicos, the Bahamas and Carnival’s private island before returning home.

is the nkotb cruise worth it

When adding in taxes, fees and port expenses, you’re looking at $2,184 for two guests — and that doesn’t include tips, Wi-Fi, port excursions or alcohol. However, you get all meals, an interior stateroom, stops in two different countries and plenty of entertainment.

In contrast, here’s a look at the Viva Wyndham Fortuna Beach in the Bahamas:

is the nkotb cruise worth it

A five-night stay here would cost $1,785 for two adults, and this beachfront resort includes all meals and drinks, even alcohol. You’ll also have access to Wi-Fi, pools, live entertainment and other activities.

Although the resort price itself is less than the cruise, this doesn’t consider the price of flights to the Bahamas, which may cost more than you’d pay when heading to Miami for a cruise.

It also doesn’t include tipping or the cost of other excursions, similar to what you’d find on a ship.

Finally, by booking with a single resort, you’re locked into one destination, which may not work for you if you’re interested in visiting more than one country.

If you’re interested in planning a cruise

So, are cruise ships worth it? They can be, but it’s a personal decision.

Cruises aren’t right for all types of travelers, especially those who value flexibility during their vacations. However, they can present good value to guests looking for convenience, especially since so much of the effort around planning a trip is eliminated.

Before you book a cruise, compare the price of your vacation against similar options — including accommodations, transportation and meals — to decide whether it's really worth it for you.

Investor’s Edge: Two cruise lines that are worth a look

In my lifetime, I’ve been on just a few cruises, the worst actually being on my honeymoon. It was two weeks of tedium in August of 1999, when the weather in Syracuse was great, but my cruise ship was — literally — passing icebergs in the North Atlantic. We were also the youngest cruisers by about 40 years.

The boredom over those two weeks became so bad, I was hoping, somewhat seriously, that we would hit one of the icebergs, a la the Titanic. The only difference being my desire that everyone would be safely rescued. Unfortunately, no luck there.

Needless to say, my view of cruises became quite jaded.

Modern cruises, however, are nothing like what I experienced 25 years ago. The cruise ships of today are essentially floating mega resorts complete with gourmet dining, casinos, theaters, laser tag, live music, and even roller coaster rides.

In fact, cruises are more popular than ever. According to Expedia, 2024 is projected to see a record 36 million global cruise passengers — a number that is expected to grow to nearly 40 million by 2027.

Recently I had a client rave about a Viking cruise that she and her husband experienced that went from Antwerp, Belgium to Amsterdam. As Viking Cruises just went public on May 1, I think it is a good time to look at this growing industry.

I will focus on only the two top players in the industry that local investors should consider embarking on.

ROYAL CARIBBEAN (TICKER: RCL)

Miami based Royal Caribbean International is the world’s largest cruise line by revenue and accounts for nearly 20% of all cruises taken around the globe.

Royal Caribbean vessels are the essence of the floating “mega resorts” I mentioned above, which center around offering just about every type of entertainment imaginable from rock climbing walls and water slides to ice skating rinks and Broadway shows. With a focus on luxury and top-tier service, Royal Caribbean is considered by many to be the gold standard in the mega-cruising industry.

The company is currently firing on all cylinders with record booking levels, ship capacity, and profit margins. In fact, after three years of losses during the pandemic from 2020-2022, Royal Caribbean’s earnings per share skyrocketed back to $6.69 in 2023 and are projected to crest $10 per share in 2024. Despite the stock being up more than 90% in the past year, the stock still sells at a very reasonable 19 times earnings — far lower than its top competitors.

I believe Royal Caribbean is a solid buy within the cruise industry.

VIKING (TICKER: VIK)

While most cruise brands try to offer a large variety of experiences and entertainment that appeal to everyone, Viking unapologetically does not. Viking offers high-end adults-only cruises for the affluent and intellectually curious.

Viking sails across 88 countries in all seven continents. The hallmark of a Viking cruise is world-class accommodations, food, and curated cultural experiences both on and off the ship.

The company’s “secret sauce” is its niche position and fiercely loyal customer base. In fact, more than 50% of patrons return for another Viking cruise and Viking’s total revenue per passenger is more than four times larger than a standard cruise line.

According to Bank of America, Viking’s average cruise is booked 11 months ahead of time, providing meaningful earnings visibility.

Furthermore, while most cruise lines focus mainly on the Caribbean, more than 60% of Viking’s excursions take place on European rivers, allowing it to carve out a niche with little competition.

Viking is undergoing an aggressive expansion strategy to keep up with rising demand. The company plans to build 14 river cruise ships and 10 ocean ships by 2030.

The company just went public on May 1 and already the stock has risen more than 12%. With only a $13 billion market cap, Viking has a lot of room to grow.

The risks involved with these stocks is a steep economic downturn or, as in what happened in 2020, a worldwide crisis like a pandemic. Barring that, however, the cruise lines in general have been very good investments.

To note, I don’t personally own either of these stocks. I prefer owning meaningful positions in a lesser number of businesses. That said, I am currently looking into a Viking cruise later this year and I think this the cruise line stock with the most runway.

Viking and Royal Caribbean are two very different, but still best in breed cruise players that are growing rapidly. For growth-oriented investors, either is an excellent stock to consider setting sail on.

Why the journey is the destination when it comes to Alaska cruises

is the nkotb cruise worth it

They say getting there is half the fun. Usually, I disagree. When I travel, I want to get to where I’m going as quickly as possible to make the most of my time there. However, sailing Celebrity Edge on its maiden Alaska voyage from Seattle, I was all about the journey.

Staring up at the snow-capped mountains through the ship’s floor-to-ceiling windows and watching for wildlife in the icy waters below, I was mesmerized by the famed Last Frontier. And I realized that on an Alaska cruise , the journey is a destination.

Here’s why and what travelers should know about cruising Alaska.

Why is Alaska a popular cruise destination?

Alaska is a bucket-list destination for many people. Some may wait their whole lives for the trip. While Alaska Airlines and other carriers fly throughout America’s largest state , it isn’t as easy to navigate as the Lower 48.

Cruises allow travelers to visit multiple destinations without taking separate flights, renting a car or moving from hotel to hotel. My Edge itinerary included stops in Ketchikan, which is surrounded by the lush Tongass National Forest ; the state capital of Juneau, which is only accessible by air or sea; and Skagway, home of Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park . The ship also carefully navigated the stunning Endicott Arm fjord toward Dawes Glacier, a highlight of the trip.

The easy trip can also be more accessible for people with mobility issues and other disabilities. Like other cruise lines, Celebrity has a team dedicated to accessible cruising . Numerous guests on board my sailing used walkers, canes or wheelchairs. Plus, it’s just nice to be able to take in the dramatic coastlines from the comfort of a cozy cabin or lounge when it’s chilly outside.

Are cruises to Alaska worth it?

They can be. At last check, the lowest price on a seven-night Celebrity Edge Alaska Dawes Glacier sailing, roundtrip from Seattle, for the remainder of this summer is listed at $778 per person on the cruise line’s website, based on double occupancy in an inside stateroom. That does not include travel to or from Seattle nor any taxes or fees, which can balloon the bottom line on any cruise. Nor does it include promotional discounts, which are pretty much always available. After taxes and fees, that works to about $2,212 for two people or $1,106 per person.

The cheapest seven-night Southbound Glacier sailing on the Edge’s sister ship, Celebrity Summit , is much less at $249 per person, based on double occupancy in an inside stateroom. It’s worth noting the Southbound voyage goes from Seward, Alaska, to Vancouver, British Columbia, not a round trip. Also the Summit is not an Edge-class ship , The Celebrity Edge is the first Edge class ship to sail Alaska; it was also the first ship in Celebrity’s most recent series, which also includes the new Celebrity Ascent . Edge-class ships were designed to bring guests closer than ever to their destinations, with their signature Magic Carpet cantilevered platform that extends beyond the ship’s edge and other features that bring the outside in. After taxes and fees, the Summit sailing adds up to about $1,231 for two people or about $615 a person.

Both are cheaper than flying between cities and staying at hotels for a week in Alaska, but they're also cheaper than other popular vacations. For example, seven nights at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort , a value resort at Walt Disney World , costs $955 for the room alone, including taxes and a summer promo deal. Adding seven days of park tickets, without park hopping, and the total becomes $2,195 for two people or about $1,098 per person, excluding food.

Meanwhile, cruises include all onboard meals – except optional specialty dining and alcohol. There are also a boatload of included activities, like nature talks, tai chi classes, guided arts and crafts, trivia, games and childcare. There’s live music available through the day and nightly stage shows. I sampled a little bit of everything, but for me, the best part of the ship was the views.

Inside Ascent: 3 takeaways from Celebrity Cruises' new ship

Do you see wildlife on an Alaskan cruise?

Yes. I saw whale spouts three times from the ship, though the whales didn’t breach above water. I also saw a handful of harbor seals and a dozen eagles from the ship and from shore. Bald eagles are so common in Alaska that a tour bus driver jokingly called them bald seagulls. There are 30,000 bald eagles in the state, according to the Alaska Department of Fish & Game.

I kept an eye out for bears on an excursion to Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau, which is managed by the U.S. Forest Service. I didn’t see any walking along the paved, wheelchair-accessible Nugget Falls Trail, but I did spot all sorts of spring buds and the most beautiful moss.

The ship’s onboard naturalist gave us a heads-up on what to look for and taught us about various species in presentations in the ship’s theater. She also broadcasted live on the ship’s TV channel and inside speakers while traveling through the Endicott Arm. However, her voice wasn’t carried on outside speakers to avoid potentially disturbing wildlife.

What is the best month to go on a cruise to Alaska?

The Alaska cruise season runs from late April to early October, though dates vary by cruise line. Guests who sail early or late in the season may find lower rates than during the height of the summer, but they may miss out on warmer weather.

It was in the 40s to 50s most days of my May sailing, and it rained on our Juneau day. The onboard naturalist warned that there is no bad weather in Alaska, only poor clothing choices.

How much should I budget for an Alaskan cruise?

You should pad your budget with several hundred extra dollars for excursions and dining off-ship. Both can be pricey but enriching. My Mendenhall Glacier excursion was just under $130, including transportation and an off-site Gold Creek Salmon Bake , with all-you-can-eat fresh salmon cooked over a wood-burning fire.  I’ve never had better fried fish than the local halibut at The Alaska Fish House in Ketchikan, and I will be dreaming of the sweet, plump red king crab at Tracy’s King Crab Shack in Juneau for years to come.  If you want freshly caught Alaska seafood, you’ll want to get it at port.

You may be able to spot whales from the cruise ship, but if you really want to go whale watching, salmon fishing, dog sledding, or get up close to glaciers, that’s generally going to require an excursion. Excursions offered through cruise lines tend to cost more than those booked independently, but booking through the cruise line can streamline payment and ensure that the ship won’t leave without you if the excursion runs late.

One port you can enjoy on the cheap is Skagway. You can explore several exhibits and historic buildings on your own, as part of Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park. However many visitors splurge on a scenic train ride on the White Pass and Yukon Route Railway up to the Canadian border and back.

Is it worth getting a balcony on a cruise?

Yes and no. The views throughout Alaska are breathtaking, and being able to enjoy them from your cabin any time of day feels luxurious. I loved waking up to mountains, thick with trees, outside my window and scanning the waters for marinelife before bed.

Just over 80% of Celebrity Edge’s staterooms have a balcony. I had an Infinite Veranda , which is unique to Edge-class ships. Rather than a traditional balcony with a sliding glass door, Infinite Verandas incorporate what would be exterior balcony space into the interior of the cabin and have a window that slides halfway down the exterior wall with the push of a button. I loved how much bigger it made the cabin feel and appreciated the extra climate-controlled living space. It was still chilly during my early season sailing, so I rarely put the window down and think I would have enjoyed a non-balcony, oceanview room just as much.

Of course, if you book an inside cabin, you can still enjoy the scenery from public areas of any ship. The Celebrity Edge brings the outside in with tons of windows, including in the buffet restaurant, Oceanview Cafe, where I spotted my first whale spout. In the back of the ship, there’s a relaxing mixed-use space called Eden with three stories of windows that I found myself drawn to daily. The solarium, with its tall windows and rows of lounge chairs, also offered expansive views.

Do I need a passport for an Alaskan cruise?

Maybe. For a closed-loop cruise that starts and ends in the same U.S. port, like the one I was on, all you need is proof of citizenship.

“According to U.S. Customs & Border Protection, this includes an Enhanced Driver’s License, which is a state-issued driver’s license that provides proof of identity and U.S. citizenship; a government-issued birth certificate (issued by the Vital Records Department in the state where the person was born) or passport; and if 16 or older, a government-issued driver’s license or picture ID denoting photo, name, and date of birth,” according to Celebrity.

Of course, not all Alaska cruises are closed-loop cruises. Some start or end in Vancouver, Canada. There are also cruises on several smaller U.S.-flagged cruise lines like Alaska Dream Cruises and Uncruise Adventures , which may not require passports depending on the itinerary.

Can you see the Northern Lights on an Alaska cruise?

It’s possible, but because daylight hours are so long during the summer in Alaska, the best chance to see them would be on a cruise late in the season.

I woke up in the middle of the night a few times to look for Northern Light. I didn’t see any, but I heard passengers on a previous sailing spotted them. Then again, so did people all across the country during the solar storm earlier this month.

Suri Cruise was photographed celebrating her 18th birthday in New York City while her estranged father, Tom Cruise, worked abroad in London.

According to pictures obtained by Page Six, the birthday girl stepped out in the rainy weather with a friend on Thursday. The pals chatted as Suri held a pink umbrella over their heads.

The teen, who is also the daughter of Katie Holmes, wore jeans, a denim jacket over a brown shirt and black shoes. She carried a blue backpack and held what looked like a birthday gift in her hand.

A day before Suri’s big day, her father, Tom, was spotted overseas in London filming a new project.

The “Mission Impossible” star, 61, flashed a wide grin as he arrived at a helipad and piloted a jet.

Tom and his youngest daughter have not had a close relationship over the past years. In fact, a source exclusively told Page Six earlier this month that the movie star has not seen Suri since 2012 (they were last seen together at Disney World that summer).

“Katie has safeguarded Suri and she’s a devoted mom,” the insider told us. “This is a girl who is a private citizen. She hasn’t lived her life in public.”

Holmes, who filed for divorce from Tom when Suri was only 6 years old in June 2012, previously told Glamour that she wanted to keep her daughter out of the public eye “because she was so visible at a young age.”

The 45-year-old also revealed in November 2013 court docs that she filed for divorce from Tom “to protect Suri from Scientology ,” a religion that is often referred to as a cult.

While it is believed that Holmes signed several non-disclosure agreements to prevent her from speaking about her marriage to Tom and the Church of Scientology, Suri will be free to discuss the religion and her father now that she is legally an adult.

Though it’s unclear whether the teen will publicly speak about her father, she won’t be joining Scientology anytime soon.

“Suri is not a Scientologist and never will be … she deserves love and sympathy,” former Scientology spokesperson Mike Rinder told Page Six.

NKOTB Cruise 2023

New Kids on the Block

NKOTB The Blog

NKOTB The Blog

On the NKOTB cruise 2023, as it happened last year, there are two groups of cabins (and many categories). Those groups are:

  • Group 1: Inside & ocean view, and standard balcony cabins
  • Group 2: preferred balcony, suite

What makes the difference between these two groups, is that:

  • the first one, doesn’t have reserved seats for events in the main show lounge; the second one, does. (but, as you’ll see below, “reserved” seats means actually “great seats”.)
  • the amount for the deposit differs.

Understanding the Prices

To the prices listed below , you must add the “additional charges”, which are Taxes, Government Fees, Prepaid Gratuities and Booking charges ( $389.00 per person added to the cabin price; last year was $349.00)

How to Pay for the Cruise 2023

You have three choices:

  • pay in full at the time of booking
  • a monthly plan
  • make additional payments so your next bill would be for a lower price

The Payment Schedule Plan

For the NKOTB cruise 2023, the second payment is no longer a determined amount. After the booking, “all” your payments will be relative to your price: they will be split in equals amounts based on the price of the cabin you booked

What does this mean? After booking your spot by paying the deposit, you can continue paying as much as you can and wish, whenever you want.

Just make sure to make the deadlines.

  • At the time of booking: the deposit ($500 or $700)
  • the total remaining balance will be split into equal monthly installment automatically charged every 15th of the next month . So, if you pay an extra $100 one month, you’ll pay $100 less the next month.

Reserved Seats Means “Great Seats”

There are two groups of cabins when it comes to the “seats”

1) General seats: if you book a cabin from the group 1, you will have a seat, but you’ll only know which seat you’ve gotten once you are on the cruise. When you arrive, you’ll get a wristband, and you’ll have your seat printed in it.

Please note: booking a better cabin won’t guarantee you a better seat.

2) Reserved seats: if you book a cabin from the group 2, there are reserved seats in the first 14, 6 or 2 rows, or in the front row.

The NKOTB cruise 2023 doesn’t have LE cabins. These were cheaper and didn’t include any access to the theater events such as Game Show, NKOTB theater Concert, etc.

The following tables were grouped in cabins without reserved seats (Group 1) and with reserved seats (Group 2), for your better understanding.

Remember: Your total would be: the cabin price (which is per person, plus additional charges $ 389,00)

If you choose to join the “ Match Program “, you’ll have three types of cabins to choose from.

Tom Cruise Has Been an A-Lister for Decades. Here's How He Got Started

M aybe you love Tom Cruise's movies. Maybe you find him creepy because of his involvement with the Church of Scientology. But you definitely know Tom Cruise.

The movie star has been around since the 1980s, playing iconic roles such as Ethan Hunt in the "Mission Impossible" saga and Pete "Maverick" Mitchell in "Top Gun." After around four decades as a Hollywood A-lister, Cruise has accrued quite a bit of wealth.

Read on to find out how much Tom Cruise is worth — and how exactly he got there.

A Rough Start

Given his success and wealth, many assume that Cruise had a pampered childhood. In reality, the future star faced a rough upbringing.

Thomas Cruise Mapother IV was born on July 3, 1962, to a Catholic family that faced poverty. Though native to Syracuse, New York, he lived for years in Canada. He and his siblings were the victims of his abusive father who would bully and hit them during frequent bursts of anger. He moved back to the U.S. when he was in sixth grade after his mother finally left his father.

As a youth, Cruise was kicked out of both seminary school (yes, he briefly thought about being a priest) and the football team. The cause of expelling on both occasions was underage drinking.

The Beginning of Tom Cruise's Hollywood Career

By age 18, however, it seems like Cruise had figured out what he wanted. He had taken part in school plays and enjoyed acting, so he decided to pursue that as a career.

At this time, his net worth was close to zero. He worked as a busboy in a New York City restaurant. Once he saved enough money, he left for Los Angeles in 1980 looking for a big break.

Probably because of his good looks and outgoing personality, it took Cruise less than a year to appear on the big screen. His first small part was in a 1981 movie called "Endless Love." In the same year, he had a significant supporting role in "Taps."

As 1983 rolled around, he was living off of acting and had no need to continue working at restaurants. This was the year that he was part of the cast of "The Outsiders" and "All the Right Moves." He would also come across a role that would prove to be the turning point of his career.
