"Being recognized by one of the most respected companies in the nation, Forbes, as one of America’s Best Small Employers is a significant honor," explained Fox World Travel CEO, Chip Juedes. "Fox is a proud, family-owned business with a steadfast focus on both the associate and customer experience, developing tailored solutions to meet clients’ corporate and vacation travel needs. We truly value the creativity, commitment and unwavering effort of our exceptional associates since they are at the heart of our company's culture."

Forbes partnered with the market research firm Statista Inc. to compile the America’s Best Small Employers list which was created to help potential job seekers assess the landscape of small employers, according to a Forbes article about the list. The ranking for the America’s Best Small Employers list was based on the analysis of over 7 million data points with over 10,000 companies with more than 200 employees, but fewer than 1,000. Placement on the final list was awarded based on a scoring model that considered the following aspects:

A. Employee Satisfaction / Public Opinion Data : This took the form of recommendations given by employees anonymously through online surveys. These were either direct recommendations (0 to 10 scores from employees of the company) or indirect recommendations (positive/negative evaluations of companies, reflecting public opinion). Additionally, employee retention (average length of employment) was considered.

B. Social listening data : The sentiment reflected in various sources across thousands of social media posts related to the company’s relationship with its employees is identified through an algorithm and deemed either positive, negative or neutral based on textual analysis.

"While large businesses tend to get most of the attention, small businesses employ almost half of the American workforce and can offer many advantages," according to Forbes magazine in an article about Forbes’ America’s Best Small Employers list.

Patriots owner Robert Kraft calls out Vladimir Putin at Tom Brady roast: ‘Give me my f---ing ring back’

Putin allegedly stole kraft's 2005 patriots super bowl ring during a meeting in russia.

All hands were on deck for "The Roast of Tom Brady" on Netflix, and New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft even had the time to say a few jokes at the Los Angeles Forum on Sunday night during the live event.

However, his biggest one-liner was not about his former quarterback, who brought his franchise six Super Bowl rings. Instead, it was about Russian President Vladimir Putin .

"In case Vladimir Putin, you’re watching. Give me my f---ing ring back, will you?" Kraft yelled into the microphone to a roaring crowd.

Now, context is needed to explain why it was such a funny joke.

There was controversy over how Putin reportedly stole Kraft’s Super Bowl ring , and it made headlines over the years. It was most recently brought up in Apple TV’s 10-part documentary "The Dynasty," which was about the Patriots’ reign in the NFL.

PUTIN DENIES HE STOLE SUPER BOWL RING FROM NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS OWNER

Details within Jeff Benedict’s book, which has the same title as the documentary, explain how the Bush administration allegedly told Kraft it "would be in the country’s best interest" if he said he gave Putin his Super Bowl ring as a gift in the summer of 2005.

Kraft showed Putin the Super Bowl ring when he traveled to Russia, and Putin allegedly admired its size and how many diamonds were in the giant piece of jewelry.

"I could kill someone with this ring," Putin allegedly said to Kraft.

"You could kill someone without it," Kraft responded. "You were the head of the KGB."

However, things allegedly got weird when Kraft put his hand out to get the ring back, but Putin put it in his pocket. Days later, The Associated Press reported Putin had stolen Kraft’s ring, and it made national headlines to the point where the Boston Globe called it "an international incident."

The Russian government called the ring a gift, which led the Bush administration to allegedly tell Kraft to say it was one to end the controversy. He did just that.

"At that point, I decided to give him the ring as a symbol of the respect and admiration that I have for the Russian people and the leadership of President Putin," Kraft said in a formal statement on the matter.

3 Biden administration policies harming small businesses

Economic warning signs are blinking red, and biden's political numbers aren't much better.

Small businesses getting 'hurt the most' from Biden's economy: Joe Germanotta

Joanne Trattoria owner and Lady Gaga's father Joe Germanotta talks the economy and inflation, NYC crime and the state of small business in a wide-ranging interview on 'Mornings with Maria.'

The nation recently marked "Small Business Week , " which has historically been a time to honor our nation’s entrepreneurs. Yet the regulatory assault from the Biden administration has hardly been a cause for celebration.

Having survived COVID-19, inflation, rising costs of energy , and widespread labor shortages, employers are facing increasing headwinds from their own federal government. In an economy where regulatory certainty is key to growth, the Biden administration has brought anything but. Consider three events from the last few weeks alone:

First, the administration continued deflecting responsibility for lingering inflation onto private companies with their obsession over so-called "junk fees," which are service charges imposed by private companies that the Biden administration deems to be unfair.

Sure, no one likes paying unexpected costs, but consumers also are free to shop around on different platforms or apps. Furthermore, the administration is applying an overly broad, one-size-fits-all mentality rather than specifically targeting certain industries. They’re deploying a sledgehammer for a situation that calls for a scalpel.

BIDEN'S NEW ATTACK ON SMALL BUSINESS COULD GUT US INNOVATION

The administration is barely bothering to hide the political motivation. Bharat Ramamurti, former deputy National Economic Council director, admitted that, "junk fees, out of 180 things they polled, was in the top three most popular actions."

Second, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) issued a blanket rule banning non-compete agreements . Framed by FTC Chair Lina Khan and her followers as evil contracts that prevent workers from switching jobs in search of better employment opportunities, the reality is more complex.

Rep. Greg Steube, R-Fla., joins ‘The Bottom Line’ to discuss President Biden’s intent to let Trump-era tax cuts expire.

Biden’s plan will bring small business taxes to 43.5%: Rep. Greg Steube

Rep. Greg Steube, R-Fla., joins ‘The Bottom Line’ to discuss President Biden’s intent to let Trump-era tax cuts expire.

Non-competes are an essential tool to prevent corporate espionage and ensure that competition is fair, which is ironically a tent pole of the FTC mission statement too often ignored by Khan in pursuit of her ideological crusade. Non-competes also allow businesses to protect their intellectual property and invest in the training of their employees.

It’s no wonder the FTC’s unilateral ban already faces legal challenges and an uncertain future.

SMALL BUSINESS OWNER POURS HEART OUT OVER BIDEN'S CRIPPLING ECONOMY: ‘WE CAN’T TAKE ANOTHER 4 YEARS'

Finally, Biden has promised to let the Trump-era tax cuts , due to sunset at the end of next year, expire. In other words, he will raise taxes on almost everyone, not just the "wealthy and biggest corporations." According to the Tax Foundation, the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) cut taxes across the board, including those at the bottom half of the tax bracket.

Rep. Roger Williams, R-Texas, assesses the regulatory backdrop and the House Small Business Committee's hearing next week on President Biden's regulations on 'Maria Bartiromo's Wall Street.'

Biden's business regulations are ‘killing' small business: Rep. Roger Williams

The law not only lowered the marginal tax rates and widened tax brackets, but also expanded credits aimed at families, including the standard deduction and child tax credit -- both of which nearly doubled.

Also, the TCJA included the small business deduction in Section 199A, which allows these taxpayers to deduct up to 20% of their qualified business income.

By lowering their tax burden, the tax law has given small businesses the relief and flexibility to expand, pay higher wages or financially prepare for the unknown.

The rise in cost of goods is 'out of this world': Small business owner

Small business owners Stephanie Coco and Katlyn Swaffer share how inflation is affecting them on 'The Bottom Line.'

Meanwhile, the economic warning signs are blinking red. Gross domestic product missed the mark by a wide margin in the first quarter. Instead of the 2.4% increase anticipated by economists, GDP growth came in at only 1.6%.

A Commerce Department report showed that inflation in the first quarter, as measured by the personal consumption expenditures index, rose by 3.7%. The dreaded "stagflation" discussion has begun.

The political numbers aren’t much better for Biden. A poll from CNN found 70% of Americans believe economic conditions are poor. The president’s approval ratings for the economy (34%) and inflation (29%) are underwater.  Biden trails Trump by the largest margin of the race at the national level.

Good policy leads to good politics. It’s a lesson the Biden administration would be wise to heed. Unfortunately, from junk fees to non-competes to tax hikes, their recent actions do not offer much in the way of hope on either front, especially for small businesses.

Using VPN for travel bookings could score cheaper rates, research finds

Travel expert: 2024 travel outlook.

New year and new destinations may be in store for you in 2024. Bob Berry, travel service specialist with Cruise Planners joins LiveNOW from FOX to discuss top destinations, safety and tips you can use to plan your dream trip this year.

Americans are being charged hundreds of dollars more for their vacations abroad using U.S. websites, according to research by NordVPN.

NordVPN, a virtual private network (VPN) service, found Americans are shown different prices for car rentals and hotel stays than people elsewhere in the world .

Using a VPN for travel bookings could help score cheaper rates abroad, since using a VPN disguises your IP address and keeps your geographical location private.

NordVPN tested this theory by researching travel bookings from the U.S. and then switching their server connection to the country they were considering for the vacation, such as Italy, France or the UK. This allowed the researcher to see different content – and prices – that would otherwise be shown to overseas customers.

0713d8d8-

FILE - A woman looks at travel bookings. Getty Images

"This method revealed a significant price difference — vacations booked from the U.S. were considerably more expensive than those booked from the actual travel destinations," the tech company said .

Savings were discovered across a range of well-known travel sites, including Hertz, Hotels.com, Booking.com and Europcar.

Here is a look at the price differences NordVPN found, with the most noticeable difference being an Enterprise car rental in the UK for a week. The U.S. price was $1,249 versus the UK price of $737 – a 41% difference in savings.

RELATED: Why now is the best time to visit Japan, thanks to a weak yen

Reasons the pricing can be different based on which country you’re searching from include multiple factors, such as currency exchange rates, cost of living and local economy and the company’s location.

"Never assume you’re getting the same deal as everyone else. Your location, the number of visits you pay to a website, and how your search fits in with the school holiday schedule, can all influence the price you’re offered," Marijus Briedis, Chief Technology Officer at NordVPN, said.

VPNs are legal in most countries, but NordVPN advises to always read the terms and conditions of the websites you’re accessing when using a VPN .

Putin taunts the West with 'first ever' visit to remote ice-covered 'frontier region' just 55 miles from the US - as Zelensky tries to drum up war support in Lithuania

  • Chukotka is Russia's easternmost region, sharing a maritime border with Alaska

President Vladimir Putin  has arrived for his first-ever presidential visit to Chukotka in Russia 's Far East - just 55 miles from the US state of Alaska .

Putin arrived in Anadyr, the local capital of the Chukotka region this morning after flying from Moscow some nine time zones away.

Chukotka is the easternmost region of Russia, with a maritime border on the Bering Strait with Alaska.

The Russian president was met in Anadyr by a motorcade and was whisked away in a limousine amid frigid temperatures of -28C.

It's the closest he has come to US soil since he met with President  Barack Obama in New York City in 2015.

Chukotka is so close to Alaska that Roman Abramovich - the ex-Chelsea FC owner - was reported to fly to Anchorage in Alaska for lunch when he was the governor of the region from 2001 - 2008.

Putin's visit comes at a time when US-Russian relations are at their lowest ebb in decades amid the war in Ukraine and a growing East-West divide.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky today landed in Lithuania as part of an unannounced trip to the Baltic states to drum up more support for the conflict.

Global war for control of the ARCTIC: Climate change is unlocking untapped natural resources, new trade routes... and a new international conflict that RUSSIA is already winning

The three Baltic states - all former Soviet republics which are now EU and NATO members - are among Ukraine's staunchest allies.

'Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania are our reliable friends and principled partners. Today, I arrived in Vilnius before going to Tallinn and Riga,' Zelensky said on social media platform X, formerly Twitter.

'Security, EU and NATO integration, cooperation on electronic warfare and drones, and further coordination of European support are all on the agenda,' he said.

The Baltic tour marks Zelensky's first official trip abroad this year.

In Lithuania, a key donor to Ukraine, Zelensky said he will hold talks with the president, prime minister and the speaker of parliament, and meet with the Ukrainian community.

The visit comes as other Kyiv allies waver on fresh aid, nearly two years into Russia's invasion.

Ukraine has come under intense Russian shelling in recent weeks, retaliating with strikes on Russia's border city of Belgorod.

Zelensky has urged allies to keep military support flowing and held in-person talks with officials from the United States, Germany and Norway last month.

But an EU aid package worth 50 billion euros ($55 billion) has been stuck in Brussels following a veto by Hungary, while the US Congress remains divided on sending additional aid to Ukraine.

Following his trip to Chukotka, Putin is expected to visit several regions in the Russian Far East to boost his re-election campaign amid the war with Ukraine, which has seen more than 300,000 Russians killed or maimed.

He is due to stand in March, seeking another six years in the Kremlin.

The only Kremlin leader ever to travel to Chukotka previously was Dmitry Medvedev in 2008.

Putin's trip sees him escape a wave of ugly protests in western Russia over hundreds of thousands of people scraping by in freezing conditions due to breakdowns in communal heating supplies.

In Elektrostal, Moscow region, desperate residents say they have had no communal heating - which Russians routinely expect the state to supply usually through piped hot water - for the entire winter so far.

'We have been without heating since [9 October],' one resident said in a video circulating on Telegram.

'It is impossible to be in our homes… We are freezing! We are freezing! We are freezing!' they said.

Our material topics served as the guide for developing our Sustainability Plan and the publishing of this inaugural sustainability report in reference to the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). Our Sustainability Plan encompasses a forward-looking roadmap focused on the following areas deemed material to our organization by internal and external stakeholders: energy and emissions, sustainable purchasing practices and supply chain engagement, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), human capital development, community stewardship, ethics and human rights, data privacy and security, and risk management.

We share this report in celebration of our commitment to sustainability, our progress on key initiatives, and future opportunities and planned initiatives for improvement in each of our material topic areas.
