Guide in Barcelona

My name’s is Anna, a Barcelona Private Tour guide and in 2012 I created Barcelonina.

Thanks to many travelers like you, nowadays I am leading a small agency specialized in private tours . With us you will discover the main Gaudí’s buildings (like the Sagrada Familia ), the Gothic Area or the more-than-famous Ramblas.

Are you a Gourmet person? if yes,  we can arrange for you a Tapas tour  to explore the Raval area or a cooking class where you will learn how to cook local specialties (and amaze your friends back home!).

Gradually I selected a team of five-star guides

Clara has been with us since the beginning and over the years other guides like Silvia, Agnès, Eli, Minerva and Maica have joined the club.

Under what criterion? To have empathy, to be friendly, to have vast knowledge and to know how to transmit it are some of the conditions required to become a Barcelonina guide.

Your Barcelona private guide

All our tours and activities are private and exclusive. They are planned to be done without rushing, allowing you to take your time to breath, to take pictures and to experience.

Forget about carrying a heavy guidebook or reading a map to navigate around the city. Just relax and follow your Barcelona private guide. This is your moment.

A tailor-made tour?

Are you a travel agent.

Would have missed many sights without Anna. Short cuts we never would have found on our own. Also loved her choices for small off the beaten track restaurants. Highly recommend.
Anna is an excellent tour guide! She clearly loves Barcelona, and shares her enthusiasm and knowledge with her clients.
My customers from South Africa told me that the next time they come, they want to hire Anna services again. They got delighted with her knowledge, how she puts accross the information and the flexibility to adapt to their own rythm. We will hire Barcelonina services again for sure!

What makes us the Best Private Tour Guides in Barcelona?

Guests during our luxury private tours of Barcelona, Spain

Meet Marta, the soul of ForeverBarcelona

I’m Marta, founder and soul of Forever Barcelona Tours.

Always in love with Barcelona, its people and its food, I’m convinced there’s no better way to make visitors fall in love with the city than a great private tour of Barcelona .

You’ve been dreaming of visiting these sites for who knows how long. Now we can show you that there’s much more than you ever imagined.

It’s our turn to wow you. Let’s us fascinate you!

Family Friendly

1000+ happy guests, airport pick-ups, shore excursions, frequent questions about our barcelona private guided tours.

  • How can I know you are legit ? 900+ reviews on Tripadvisor alone vouch for us. We’ve just started collecting reviews on Google , but you can also find a few dozens there already. We’ve also appeared on international media.
  • Can you skip lines at the top sites ? Yes, our licensed guides are entitled to skip lines at the top sites, and when that’s not an option we purchase priority tickets.
  • Are your tour guides official ? Yes, all our guides are licensed by the Catalan government.
  • Do your tours include transportation ? It depends. We offer both walking tours and car tours of the city. Walking tours may require taxi or subway rides, that you pay for as you go. Chauffeured city tours and day trips out of town include a private professional driver with a fully insured Mercedes vehicle.
  • Are your tours kid friendly ? Barcelona is very child friendly, and our tour guides are great at keeping the little ones happy and entertained. We don’t recommend tours longer than 6 hours for the youngest ones, though.
  • Are your tours accessible ? We do our best, but we are limited by the conditions available at each site. Each tour description specifies the energy levels that the itinerary requires. And we are always happy to adapt the itinerary so you can cover way more than you would on your own!
  • Is VAT included ? All required taxes are included. Check out our FAQ to find more about what’s included and excluded .
  • Do you do Gaudi Tours ? Sure! We are Gaudi specialists and we have probably the widest offer of tours about Gaudi architecture in Barcelona. This is our best seller .
  • What’s the best for for cruise passengers ? Our chauffeured highlights tour is the favorite of cruise passengers.
  • Can we start at the airport ? Yes, we can send a driver to pick you up at the airport, then you’ll meet your tour guide in the city to start your tour. Here is an example of what can be done in 4 hours.
  • What are the most popular day trips out of town ? Our half day trip to Montserrat is our best selling day trip, followed by our full day tour of Girona and Figueres (Dali Museum).

We are the best, and you deserve no less!

Her knowledge and presentation style was top notch. We felt like we got great exposure to everything we wanted to see, and never felt rushed during the tour. Most importantly, her personality was so welcoming that we felt like we were spending the day with a friend!

― Terri & Steve

This was our 2nd booking with Cristina because we were so impressed with her last year. Her knowledge, energy, empathy, personality combine to make the perfect experience in Barcelona.

― Stephanie

Christina has a terrific warm and inviting personality. She loves her city and shares her knowledge in an enthusiastic and fun manner. Our favorite part was touring the Church-Sangrada Familia...absolutely amazing. Christina made it come alive and held our 15 year old's interest as well!

― Connie, Sandy and Kyle

Christina is extremely knowledgable of Barcelona's sights, history and everything Gaudi. Equally as important is her enthusiasm and friendly demeanor. Simply stated, it was a true delight to spend the half day with her.

Private Full Day Barcelona Tour LivTours

Read more about the Tour

Barcelona is a city that has it all! Blue skies and sunshine, 4 kilometers of golden beaches, delicious food and stunning architecture by Antonio Gaudi. On this semi-private tour – with no more than 6 people in your group – you will explore the two major highlights of the city, both designed by Gaudi, and both now UNESCO World Heritage Listed sites: La Sagrada Familia and Park Guell.

You will first meet your expert English speaking guide outside the iconic Sagrada Familia and take advantage of LivTours priority skip-the-line access for a 2-hour guided tour.

La Sagrada Familia was begun in 1882 and remains unfinished to this day. It is a gloriously eccentric mix of architectural styles from neo-Gothic to Gaudi’s own unique brand of design magic. It is dedicated to the Holy Family and is famous for its three facades depicting aspects of Jesus’ life, the Nativity, the Passion and the Glory. Inside, you’ll be able to admire the breathtaking beauty of its stained glass windows, and its 18 magnificent towers symbolic of: Christ, the Gospels, the Virgin Mary and the 12 Apostles. Gaudi himself is buried within his own masterpiece.

Next you will take a short drive with your guide just 20 minutes up Carmel Hill overlooking the city, to visit the uniquely magical Park Guell – also designed by Gaudi for a guided visit. Enjoy skip the line priority access to this vast park with over 17 hectares of gardens and monuments. Explore this colorful wonderland of sparkling mosaics, and eccentric sculptures inspired by animals and nature. Gaudi began work here in 1900 and loved it so much he also built himself a house here. See the famous dragon staircase in the center of the park, wend your way upwards and end at the top of the hill with spectacular panoramic views overlooking the city below.

This Tour Includes

  • Expert English speaking private guide
  • Skip the line tickets to Sagrada Familia
  • Fully guided tour of Sagrada Familia
  • Transport between sites
  • Skip the line entrance to Park Guell
  • Guided tour of Park Guell
  • Panoramic views over Barcelona

Everything was so easy. We met our guide, Begonia, across the street, which was a perfect spot for a group photo before we bypassed the long lines and entered the temple. Begonia  spoke English perfectly , was extremely knowledgeable, and had a great sense of humor. She not only knew all the history and facts about Gaudi and the Sagrada Familia, but she grew up in Barcelona so she was able to give us anecdotes and stories of the temple  as well as the Spanish culture. We had severalteenagers in our group and she kept them  fully engaged  throughout the tour. Although I had already visited the Sagrada Familia, I learned so much more being on a private tour, especially with Begonia as our guide.
I can’t say enough positive things about our experience with Carolina and Skip the Line. We were unsure about using a tour guide because we had never used one before, so we waited until we arrived in Barcelona to set something up. They responded immediately  and were flexible concerning meeting times. We made an  easy payment  through PayPal and we were all set up. We met up with Carolina two blocks from where we were staying and she immediately engaged our 6 and 9-year-old kids. We went on to a tour that was incredibly informative from a historical perspective, but also in current events. And, it was great to get the perspective on current events from a local. Carolina was  honest AND even-handed . The tour ended with “Certificates of Achievement” in understanding Barcelona for my kids. Skip the Line and Carolina were a highlight of our trip and I highly recommend them.
Best way to start our Trip !!!!  We signed up for the Highlights tour on our first full day in Barcelona and it was theperfect way to start our trip. Carolina was a great and patient guide and she really helped us get our bearings. We saw a few different areas of the city, learned a lot about each neighborhood, and ended up with a great tour of La Sagrada Familia. I highly recommend scheduling a tour with Skip the Line – they were  professional, on time, organized and really fun  to hang out with!

Visit Barcelona with an Official Tourist Guide

When visiting the capital of Catalonia, and in order to enjoy a relaxing holiday which is also interesting, what's needed is an official guide to Barcelona. A fully qualified tourist guide who is able to take the client where they want to go in a professional yet fun manner that's informative, yet informal, in order to ensure that one's stay in an as yet unfamiliar city becomes a truly memorable experience for all the right reasons.

Everyone who selects a private tour on this web page will have the best tourist guides at their disposal and thus, the prospect of a really excellent quality tour.

Video: Guide Touristique

What is an English speaking private tourist guide available through Barcellona.shop?

This covers a tourist guide service that can be booked at any time via the "Book Your Guide Now" form which can be found at the top of this page. The service is suitable for small or large groups, for couples and for families and includes visits to the city's museums, attractions and famous monuments as well going out for some tapas and vermouth! For example, you can ask your guide to take you to Park Güell where they will be happy to provide you with plenty of information about the fascinating history of Antoni Gaudí, or you can ask them to book your entry tickets for a visit to the spectacular Sagrada Familia where they will accompany you to its towers.

Visit Barcelona with a Guide

Why you should choose an English speaking guide:

 You decide how long the tour should last!;

  An Official Guide:  2 hours - 4 hours - 6 hours - 8 hours;

  An Unofficial Guide:  2 hours - 4 hours - 6 hours - 8 hours (unavailable at the moment)

 You'll skip all the queues and you  decide what to visit;

 They'll speak your language;

 You can visit museums, different neighborhoods, and monuments accompanied by an expert;

 In a couple of hours with a guide, you will discover more about the city than you would in an entire day on your own;

 Your guide can also collect you from your hotel;

A Tour on foot, by metro or in a taxi?  You decide which is the best means of transport!;

Five reasons why you'll benefit from an English speaking guide

There are at least five good reasons why you'll need a private English speaking guide on your visit to Barcelona and which you are able to book on this website. First and foremost, because the tedious long entry queues at the various venues won't be a problem for you! In fact, you won't waste any time and you won't have to wait in any queues at the ticket office or the entrance to any of the attractions you are visiting. The English speaking guides from Barcellona.shop are certified professionals who pay great attention to detail and have at least 15 years worth of experience behind them with both Spanish speaking and foreign tourists. They are always happy to try and accommodate a varied range of requests and they all share an absolute passion for the city of Barcelona. The guide to whom you will be entrusted will be an absolute expert with a really thorough knowledge of the city who will make you want to move to one of the liveliest cities in Europe! Most of the guided tours are conducted by a bilingual guide which means listening to everything twice, once in Spanish and once in English and these tours are only available at certain times of the day. However, you can be sure that your private guide will only speak in English and will be available at the time you require, (unless they are already booked with someone else). So it is always recommended to ask them for any bookings sooner rather than later, in order to avoid any disappointment!

A Guide inside the interior of the Museum of the Sagrada Familia

Another good reason for booking a private guide is the possibility to book your tour at the time you want and for as long as you want. You can ask them to take you to other attractions in the city or even to stay for as long as you want in your favorite museum whilst listening to their fascinating commentary. And who says you have to visit the museums and churches? Sometimes people just want to enjoy a tour of Barcelona, exploring some of the less well-known spots that are full of intriguing history, sample some typical dishes and admire some typical traditions of the true Catalonia. Your private guide will be there at your side and you choose where to go and what to see.  Did you know that if you want them to, your guide can come and collect you from where you're staying? At the door of your lodgings or hotel or wherever suits you best. You just need to provide us with all the necessary information at the time of making your booking.

Ideas for a Guide package

  • Package for 2 hours: Consists of an informative stroll or a visit to one particular attraction. You can choose on the form where you would like to explore or which of the many attractions to visit that Barcelona has to offer. The most popular are: the Sagrada Familia, Park Güell and the Casa Batlló;
  • Package for 4 hours: Consists of a panoramic stroll around the historic city center or a visit to two attractions. The most popular combinations are: the Sagrada Familia + Park Guell, the Sagrada Familia + Casa Batlló, the Sagrada Familia + Pedrera, Park Güell + Pedrera and lastly, based on the volume of requests, the Barrio Gótico + the Picasso Museum;
  • Package for 6 hours: Consists of a stroll through different neighborhoods or a visit to three attractions which you can choose from. Our clients tend to select: the Sagrada Familia + Park Guell + Casa Batlló, the Cathedral + Barrio Gótico + Born + Picasso, or the Sagrada Familia + Park Güell + Pedrera + Gràcia;
  • Package for 8 hours:  Consists of a panoramic stroll around the historic city center or a visit to four attractions which you can choose from. The most commonly chosen are: the Sagrada Familia + Park Güell + Casa Batlló or the Sagrada Familia + Park Güell + Palau Güell + Casa Vicens.

A walking tour or a private vehicle?

Barcelona is definitely a city that's worth discovering on foot as this is the best way to get the maximum out of your guided tour. Strolling along the streets in the city center is a unique and inspiring experience: your guide will accompany you through the narrow streets, secret alleyways and hidden squares which you can only access easily on foot. If you want to travel from the historic center to areas that are not too far away, such as the Sagrada Familia , Park Güell or Casa Vicens for example, we recommend that you take a taxi or make use of the metro. In fact, this is undoubtedly the most convenient and cheapest option because in Barcelona, the taxis are everywhere and above all, they're not terribly expensive! In any event, if you prefer a guided tour in a more private environment, you can request this when filling out your booking form. The costs of the chosen means of transport will be calculated separately and you will receive your quote via email.

The advantage of choosing one among many excellent Spanish schools in Barcelona isn’t limited to quality education alone; it’s about embracing a new lifestyle.

Choosing the right Spanish school in Barcelona can be a daunting task, given the vibrant abundance of educational institutions dedicated to teaching this beautiful language.

From elegant Gothic Quarter locales to modern Eixample district campuses, each institution offers unique experiences and methodologies. But fret not! Armed with some knowledge about what makes great Spanish schools in Barcelona, you can make an informed choice best suited for your learning needs.

The first thing you should consider when choosing between Spanish schools in Barcelona is the curriculum’s depth and flexibility. An excellent school will offer a diverse range of courses tailored to different proficiency levels and learning styles.

They might also provide options for immersive learning – opportunities that allow students to practice their skills within real-world contexts.

Remember: The more adaptable the program is, the better it can cater to your specific goals.

Lastly, don’t forget about accreditation. Reliable Spanish schools in Barcelona are usually accredited by Instituto Cervantes or similar organizations ensuring high-quality education standards.

Studying at an accredited institution guarantees that your hard-earned skills would be recognized globally, says Juan Carlos, a seasoned language learner who has studied at several Spanish schools in Barcelona. “It’s like carrying around evidence of my dedication wherever I go.”

This blend of practical advice and humor optimally balances fun with factual information while maintaining our focus on selecting suitable Spanish schools in Barcelona.

Breaking Down the Curriculum: What to Expect in Barcelona Spanish Schools

museum visits

Barcelona, a city that effortlessly blends tradition with modernity, is home to some of the best Spanish schools.

These institutions are recognized for their comprehensive curriculum designed to provide an immersive learning experience. The courses at these Spanish schools in Barcelona integrate grammar lessons with conversational practice.

In addition, they often incorporate cultural activities such as museum visits and tapas tours into their program. This unique blend enables students not only to learn the language but also to understand its context within Spain’s rich history and vibrant culture.

Another characteristic feature of Spanish schools in Barcelona is their interactive teaching methods. Teachers employ a variety of tools like videos, songs, and role-play exercises to make classes engaging and fun.

They also encourage peer interaction through group projects or discussions which fosters camaraderie among students while enhancing communication skills. This approach ensures that each student gets ample opportunities to practice speaking Spanish outside controlled classroom situations.

Finally, it would be remiss not to mention the highly qualified faculty at these Spanish schools in Barcelona. Many instructors hold advanced degrees in linguistics or education – ensuring high-quality instruction for all students regardless of proficiency level.

Their vast knowledge combined with passion makes learning enjoyable. To top it off – don’t be surprised if your teacher cracks a joke mid-lesson! It’s part of what makes studying at these renowned establishments memorable besides being educational.

Location Considerations: Finding Your Ideal Spanish School Setting in Barcelona

learn more la sagrada familia

Barcelona, a vibrant city steeped in culture and history, is home to exceptional Spanish schools.

Nestled among the bustling streets and serene parks, these institutions offer quality education tailored to learners’ unique needs. With its rich linguistic heritage, Barcelona provides an ideal backdrop for students keen on mastering the Spanish language.

In your search for ‘Spanish schools in Barcelona’, location becomes crucial. Consider proximity to cultural sites or picturesque neighborhoods that can supplement classroom learning with experiential insights.

Schools situated near landmarks like La Sagrada Familia or El Barri Gòtic not only imbue lessons with local flavor but also make commutes interesting explorations.

  • Enforex Barcelona : Located close to Plaza de Cataluña.
  • Don Quijote Barcelona : Situated near University of Barcelona.
  • Oxford House: A stone’s throw away from Plaça d’Espanya.

Last but not least, consider the ambiance of different Spanish schools in Barcelona. Some may prefer traditional settings exuding old-world charm while others might gravitate towards modern infrastructures equipped with state-of-the-art facilities.

Whichever you choose, remember: it’s about finding a setting where you feel comfortable and motivated – because that’s when real learning happens! So why wait? Start exploring Spanish schools in Barcelona today!

The Role of Class Size and Teaching Styles in Barcelona’s Spanish Schools

The quality of learning at Spanish schools in Barcelona is greatly impacted by the class size.Research shows that smaller classes provide a more effective environment for language acquisition; students get more individual attention, which can lead to greater understanding and fluency.

In larger classrooms, on the other hand, teachers might struggle to give each student adequate attention. Interestingly enough, some Spanish schools in Barcelona have been proactive about maintaining small class sizes – a fact sure to please parents and students alike.

Teaching styles also play an integral role within these institutions. In many Spanish schools in Barcelona, teachers employ immersive teaching techniques where only Spanish is spoken during lessons.

This method encourages students to think directly in the new language rather than translating from their native tongue – a process that can slow down comprehension speed significantly.

Another interesting facet of teaching styles observed here involves experiential learning.

  • This includes city tours conducted entirely in Spanish.
  • Cooking traditional Catalan dishes while conversing solely in the local lingo.
  • Attending flamenco dance classes instructed exclusively en español.

In this way, not only do they learn the language but also get steeped into rich Iberian culture simultaneously. It’s clear that both class size and unique teaching styles significantly contribute towards making Spanish Schools in Barcelona stand out on a global scale.

Cost Assessment: The Price of Learning Spanish in Barcelona

language school

When planning to study in one of the Spanish schools in Barcelona, cost assessment is a necessary step. The city not only provides an immersive experience but also offers affordable language education. On average, tuition fees range from €150-€200 per week for intensive courses that comprise 20 lessons weekly.

This price may vary depending on the duration and intensity of the course chosen. However, it’s important to remember that these figures are estimates; actual costs can differ between institutions.

The cost of living while studying at a Spanish school in Barcelona should be considered as well.

A student might spend around €800-€1,000 per month on accommodation, meals, transportation and entertainment. For housing specifically – options like shared apartments or homestays typically fall within this budget range.

But here’s where you might chuckle: despite being cosmopolitan with its fair share of Michelin-star restaurants, eating out in Barcelona isn’t overly expensive – if you know where to look!

To truly gauge the financial commitment involved when enrolling into any Spanish schools in Barcelona, one must take into account additional expenses such as textbooks and resource materials which normally aren’t included in tuition fees.

Other costs could include visa application fees (for non-EU students) and travel insurance expenses.

Reviewing Accreditation and Reputation of Spanish Schools in Barcelona

The importance of accreditation is paramount when considering Spanish schools in Barcelona. Accreditation serves as a guarantee that the school meets specific educational standards, ensuring you receive a high-quality learning experience.

Instituto Cervantes, for instance, accredits many reputable Spanish schools in Barcelona, lending credibility to their courses.

It’s crucial to take this into account during your research process; an accredited school offers more than just language lessons – it provides an invaluable cultural immersion that enriches your overall learning journey.

An institution’s reputation speaks volumes about its quality. When searching for reliable Spanish schools in Barcelona, consider their track records. Look at student reviews and testimonials: are they positive?

These insights often paint a clear picture of what you can expect from each institution. For example, highly-rated institutions like Olé Languages and Speakeasy Language School consistently garner outstanding feedback due to engaging teaching methods and experienced staff.

Apart from these factors, there’s also the delightful charm of studying in one of Europe’s most vibrant cities! The picturesque sights,tantalizing cuisine,bountiful art, and sizzling flamenco dances – all make attending Spanish schools in Barcelona an unforgettable experience!

But remember not to get too carried away by the allure; keep focused on finding that perfect blend between academic excellence and cultural exposure.

Making the Most of Your Experience at a Spanish School in Barcelona

experience at a spanish school in barcelona

Barcelona, known for its rich history and vibrant culture, is home to some of the most prestigious Spanish schools in Barcelona. These institutions stand as shining examples of quality education, offering an immersive environment where students can learn the language while experiencing first-hand Spain’s unique traditions.

From small interactive classes to cultural excursions that paint a vivid picture of local life – these schools strive diligently to provide more than just textbooks.

Spanish schools in Barcelona have meticulously designed programs that focus on real-world applications. Students are encouraged not only to master grammar and vocabulary but also to understand context and nuances.

This practical approach allows learners to build confidence quickly as they navigate through daily scenarios like ordering food or asking for directions. Additionally, many Spanish schools offer homestays – living with a local family is an excellent way to practice conversational skills outside classroom walls.

However, studying at one of the Spanish schools in Barcelona isn’t all work and no play! The city offers countless opportunities for fun learning experiences too. Imagine practicing your newly acquired language skills while exploring Antoni Gaudi’s architectural wonders or bartering at La Boqueria Market?

Plus let’s not forget about those churros con chocolate – which tastes even better when you order them confidently en Español!

Remember though: while it’s tempting to use English when hurdles arise – resist! Embrace challenges; they’re key ingredients in making this journey truly rewarding. So dive right into the deep end because attending a Spanish school in Barcelona, after all, should be memorable both academically and personally.
