It's crucial to apply before your current visa reaches its expiry date. There might be grace periods and fines associated with overstaying.

Application Process:

  • Gather Documents: You'll need your passport (original and copy), visa application form, coloured passport-sized photographs, and payment for the extension fee (around AED 1000).
  • Online: Many government websites like GDRFAD or specific Emirates Immigration Departments offer online visa extension options.
  • Agents: Authorised visa agents can assist with the application process for a fee.
  • Submit Application and Pay Fees: Once you've chosen the method, submit your application and pay the relevant fees. The fee for UAE visa extension is AED 1000.
  • Collect Your Extended Visa: Upon approval (usually within 3-5 working days), you can download your e-visa or collect your updated passport with the extension stamp depending on the application method.

Here are some common reasons why a UAE visa application may be rejected:

  • Incomplete or Inaccurate Application: Ensure thorough completion of the application form, attaching all required documentation before submission. Any inaccuracies or omissions may lead to visa refusal.
  • Past Visa Violations: Previous breaches of UAE visa regulations, such as illegal employment or visa overstay, can result in visa denial.
  • Security Concerns: Visa applications may be rejected if immigration authorities have suspicions or concerns regarding an applicant's security background.

If your previous UAE E-visa application was denied, you have the option to reapply. However, it's crucial to understand the reasons for the initial rejection and address them before submitting a new application. Review any rejection notices or communications from UAE immigration authorities for specific feedback.

To avoid another rejection, ensure that your new application is error-free and meets all requirements.

Before reapplying for a UAE E-visa, gather the necessary documents:

  • Ensure your passport is valid for at least 6 months from your planned entry date into the UAE and has two blank pages for visa stamping.
  • Provide a scanned copy of your passport's personal information page.
  • Have a credit/debit card or PayPal account ready to pay the Dubai tourist visa fees.
  • Use a current email address to receive your UAE E-visa.

When reapplying:

  • Address any issues: Correct any mistakes or deficiencies from your previous application. Make sure all required documents mentioned above are accurate and complete.
  • Provide additional information: If possible, include any extra details or documents that could strengthen your application.
  • Seek assistance if needed: If you're unsure about why your application was rejected or need guidance, consider reaching out to UAE Immigration Services for clarification or assistance before reapplying.

If your UAE e-visa application is rejected there isn't a formal process for appealing the decision. Typically, if your UAE e-visa is denied, you will receive notification outlining the reasons for the rejection. If you believe the denial occurred due to misinformation or an assessment error, you may consider reaching out to the UAE embassy or consulate for clarification and resolution.

Upon arrival at the UAE airport, it's important to follow these steps for a smooth and hassle-free experience:

  • Ensure Travel Documents are Ready: Have your passport and a valid UAE visit visa readily available for quick verification by immigration authorities. It's advisable to carry physical printouts of these documents or ensure they are easily accessible on your mobile device.
  • Understand UAE (Dubai) Regulations: Proceed to the customs area if you have items to declare or if your baggage requires inspection. Familiarise yourself with the UAE (Dubai) Customs Regulations , which offer information on various services, duty-free shopping options, and traveller facilities.
  • Follow Unaccompanied Minor Guidelines: If you are travelling as an unaccompanied minor, remain with your designated flight attendant for safety. Upon arrival, identify your assigned adult at the destination airport to ensure a secure transition.

In summary, this guide simplifies the process of obtaining a visa for Dubai. Simply follow the steps that align with your travel plans, and you'll soon be exploring the wonders of Dubai's captivating cityscape and rich culture.

Dubai visit visa fee from May 2024

Travellers holding Dubai visit visas from countries like Pakistan, India, and others must adhere strictly to entry guidelines, as failure to meet requirements can result in denied boarding at airports.

Requirements include carrying 3,000 dirhams in cash, a valid return ticket, and proof of accommodation.

A travel agent confirmed the strict enforcement of these guidelines by Dubai authorities, emphasizing the necessity for a valid visa and passport with a minimum validity of six months.

While Dubai visit visa rules have long been in place, recent strict enforcement aims to curb overstaying and enhance tourism. Pakistani travelers must obtain a tourist visa, which can be applied for through travel agents.

For 2024, the short-term single-entry UAE tourist visa from Pakistan costs $90, allowing a 30-day stay from the arrival date. Various visa types cater to different durations and entry requirements.

Courts bar Pemra from taking coercive action against TV channels

Documents required for a UAE visit visa include a valid passport, application form, Emirates ticket copy, proof of relationship (if applicable), and a valid CNIC issued by NADRA.

All documents must be submitted in hard copy format, and visa fees are non-refundable. Travel must be on Emirates or codeshare flights, with entry subject to immigration approval.

Visa processing takes approximately 3 to 4 working days, with all visas valid to enter Dubai for 60 days from the date of issue, except for the 96-hour and 48-hour visas, which are valid for 30 days from the issue date.

Here's how to pay UAE visa overstay fine

DUBAI - United Arab Emirates in general and Dubai in particular captivate the attention of visitors to such an extent that sometimes they even forget about their visa validity period.

For those who are unable to exit the country within the visa validity period, the government of the emirate imposes a fine of Dh50 per day irrespective of whether they have a residence or visit visa

As the grace period has been scrapped, visa overstayers face difficulty paying the fine before exiting the country.

For those who are unable to comply with the rules and are unable to leave the emirate within the valid time, it is to be clarified that the fine can be paid by navigating to the website of the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security.

On the home page, 'Fines and Leave Permits' should be clicked after which you must click on 'Start Service' in the 'Fines - Pay Fines - Violations of Entry Permissions or Residences - Pay New Fine' box.

An important aspect of the process is that if the visa overstayer was on a residence visa then they should fill out the empty fields that appear on the page otherwise, they should click on 'citizens of certain countries' and then fill the empty fields

After this step, click 'Verify Applicant' and click 'Next', where the applicant would be asked to Review their application and confirm all relevant details.

The final step involves paying the fine amount after which the applicant would be able to see that the transaction has been confirmed, Khaleej Times reported.

It is to be highlighted that the authorities in the United Arab Emirates have time and again directed foreigners to comply with the visa validity period and avoid violating that period; however, if one is unable to leave the emirate within the stipulated time, they can pay the fine following the steps elaborated above.

Indians who hold an ordinary passport and have a US green card or residence visa in UK or European Union countries must first apply online to avail of a pre-approved visa-on-arrival for entry to the UAE as a visitor for a period of 14 days.

The short-term visa can be extended for another 14 days for one time only, noted the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai.

Eligible Indian travellers were being granted visa-on-arrival at UAE airports for some years. The visa is typically stamped at the immigration counter once travellers disembark from their flights. Now, passengers to Dubai need to apply online for the service first.

GRDFA also enumerated the requirements that include:

2. Permanent residence card (green card) issued by USA or a residence visa issued by UK or European Union countries.

3. Personal photo (white background)

Apply online first

Indian tourists eligible for the pre-approved visa-on-arrival must first log in to the GDRFA website https://smart.gdrfad.gov.ae

They must register their details, fill up the requirements pay the fees (Dh253). After approval, the visa is sent to the user’s email.

Expected completion time is within 48 hours after application.

Terms and conditions

GDRFA, on its website, also enumerated the terms and conditions for the short-term visit visa.

1. The traveler should not have any restrictions that prevent him/her from entering the UAE

2. The validity of the passport or travel document is no less than 6 months.

3. He/she should have a visa or green card issued by competent US authorities, with a validity period of no less than 6 months. Or

4. He she should have a residence visa issued by the competent authorities in UK or European Union countries, with a validity period of no less than 6 months.

Meanwhile, in February this year, Emirates announced a pre-approved visa-on-arrival facility for some Indian passport holders who booked their travel with the airline.

Issued as a 14-day single entry visa, it enables Emirates customers to skip queues when arriving in Dubai. The application is fulfilled by the Dubai Visa Processing Centre (DVPC) — VFS Global’ s facility designated by Emirates Airline to process UAE visas.

Emirates also clarified “the issuance of visas remains at the absolute discretion of GDRFA.”
