Hints and tips for improving your chances of getting The Corrs tickets

Make sure you have a my ticketmaster account.

Get the basics covered before tickets go on sale by logging in and checking your Ticketmaster account ahead of time. If you don’t have a Ticketmaster Account then make sure you sign up in advance –  Ticketmaster.com.au .

Sign into your My Ticketmaster account ahead of time

Remember to triple check your passwords, account information, and billing information are all filled in correctly in advance, that way you’re not facing any last-minute account updates when trying to process your order.

Keep your options open with ‘Best Available’

Save time by searching “Best Available,” which scans all sections fast – it’s quicker than searching sections one at a time.

Keep an eye on the clock

There will be a time limit applied to all transactions as you are progressed through the ticket purchasing stages. Remember to keep an eye on the timer on your screen and move through the processing pages as quickly as possible (this is even easier when you’ve completed the account set-up stage we mentioned above).

Don’t refresh your screen

Stick to one window while you’re in the  Waiting Room  and when you’re being pushed through  the Smart Queue  and always resist the urge to refresh.

Hitting the refresh button means you’ll lose your place in the queue and, as frustrating as it can get, patience is the only way to win this game. Ticketmaster is equipped with sophisticated systems that are designed to manage and process ticket purchases as quickly as possible. The queuing system that appears on your screen will place you at the front of the line as soon as possible.

Remember: there are a lot of fans

We’re expecting this to be a very popular event. When a popular event goes on sale there are hundreds, and sometimes thousands, of customers all attempting to purchase tickets at the same time. Tickets are sold as long as seats are available, and when an act is this popular, sometimes they go very quickly.

Be sure to follow the above tips to ensure you have the best chance of snapping up some tickets.

The Corrs   will be coming to UTAS Stadium in Launceston in November 2023.  Tickets are on sale via Ticketmaster.com.au.

THE CORRS - ONE NIGHT ONLY IN AUSTRALIA NOVEMBER 2022

corrs australia tour 22

HOPE ESTATE WINERY, HUNTER VALLEY 26 NOVEMBER 2022 - ONE NIGHT ONLY

Irish Celtic infused pop icons, The Corrs will return to Australia this November for an exclusive, one night only, performance at Hope Estate in the heart of NSW’s Hunter Valley wine country.

Joining them for an incredible evening of wine and song will be one of the most successful acts in British pop history Wet Wet Wet, Australia’s catchiest song writer, Ben Lee and emerging artist, Gaudion.

The Corrs are a family affair, Andrea (lead vocals), Sharon (violin, piano, vocals), Caroline (drums, piano, vocals) and Jim (guitar, piano, vocals) have sold over 40 million albums worldwide and in excess of two million albums in Australia since their 1995 debut album Forgiven Not Forgotten crashed into the charts and stole our hearts. An enchanting mix of traditional Celtic music with a pop rock twist, The Corrs have written some of the biggest songs of the last three decades.

Forgiven Not Forgotten gave us the incredible title track, the exquisite Heaven Knows and of course, arguably one of the biggest adult contemporary songs of the modern era, Runaway.

Their second album, Talk On Corners led with I Never Loved You Anyway, So Young and Only When I Sleep and is their biggest selling album to date.

In Blue features their highest streaming ever. Breathless has received staggering 132 million plays on Spotify and counting!  More recently, in 2015 the band released White Light and their latest release 2017’s Jupiter Calling, featuring the sublime singles, Son Of Solomon and SOS (Song of Syria).

Well known for their massive hit, Love Is All Around, from one of the most successful UK movies ever, Four Weddings And A Funeral, Scotland’s Wet Wet Wet are celebrating the 35th anniversary of their first album release this year.

With their hit albums & singles including Sweet Little Mystery, Angel Eyes, Goodnight Girl, Julia Says and of course, Sweet Surrender, the band have featured in the official UK singles and album charts for over 500 weeks, spending 15 weeks at the top with Love Is All Around itself - a record for any UK artist that still stands.

Having played to more than four million people around the world including a record breaking 10 sold out shows in one year at the SEC in Glasgow, the band have built a reputation as one of the best live acts ever produced by the UK. The band’s latest album, 2021’s The Journey, is their first in over a decade and having last toured Australia all the way back in 1995, Wet Wet Wet are thrilled to be finally coming back to reconnect with their old fans and looking forward to making new ones who will experience them for the first time.

Ben Lee has been one of Australia’s most successful singer songwriters of the new millennium. Cigarette’s Will Kill You and Catch My Disease have been radio staples for years and his 2006 smash, We’re All In This Together became an unofficial Aussie anthem during the pandemic. Never one to take himself seriously, Ben is in it for the good times. A prolific collaborator, Ben has worked with too many artists to mention, runs a podcast network and even directs movies!

Ben will have you in a great mood for the evening ahead. You’ll laugh, you’ll sing and you’ll love it!

Emerging artist, Gaudion will impress you with his charisma energy and zest for life which are embodied in his music as he continues his mission to spread happiness everywhere!

Gaudion is nominated for Breakout Artist of the Year at the upcoming Gold Coast Music Awards and his unique style is influenced by the likes of Van Morrison, Ed Sheeran, James Reyne and Tracy Chapman.

To make this evening a night to remember, The Corrs will embark on a global first with 500 drones lighting up the sky that are synced to several of their key songs making the atmosphere truly remarkable.

Come and soak up the atmosphere of live music in the heart of Hunter Valley wine country at the home of Australia's largest purpose-built outdoor winery concert amphitheatre.

More The Corrs

A week after playing a One Night Only concert at the Hope Estate in the Hunter Valley, The Corrs are already planning a full-blown Australian tour.

The Breathless  outfit posted the good news on social media last night. "It's official," the band noted with a celebratory emoji. "We're heading back DOWN UNDER to Australia & New Zealand and will be joined by special guests Natalie Imbruglia, Toni Childs,  and Germein .

"Australian tour dates and venues, as well as presale information, will be announced this Wednesday, 7 December - sign up to receive all you need to know direct to your inbox" at the link here .

"The Corrs New Zealand tour dates and venue announcement will be soon to follow!"

In a recent  The Music cover story, Sharon Corr reminisced  about the family band's success, their hits, Crowded House , and more.

She has a unique partnership with the band's current keyboardist and record producer, Mitchell Froom . “I grew up loving Crowded House. They’re such authentic songwriters, and that’s the thing that I always gravitate towards because it feels like the truth. It is the truth,” she says.

Corr is a Crowded House superfan. Songs like Into Temptation , Private Universe , Fall at Your Feet , Four Seasons in One Day , and Weather with You display a kind of songwriting she adores: when a man expresses his vulnerabilities and desires in an upbeat fashion.

“I remember being in Sydney long ago, and I would spend all day in my room between gigs listening to Crowded House,” she smiles. Woodface is a beautifully crafted album, a classic record that turns unusual corners and features strange influences. Corr had to know who produced it.

“I looked to see who the producer was, and it was Mitchell Froom. We were going to do MTV Unplugged, and our manager then asked, 'who would you like to be the producer?' and I instantly said, Mitchell Froom. Our manager went, 'well, let me see what I can do.' Mitchell was super curious about the family band dynamic and me because he had that with Tim and Neil Finn, which can be rocky territory, especially for a producer.”

Froom went to Dublin and spent a long time with The Corrs rehearsing, rearranging, and reworking songs to create the MTV Unplugged concert. “And then, subsequently, I asked him to produce my second solo record. I did that in Los Angeles with him. He's very cool, understated, heartfelt, and goddamn brilliant. He is superb.”

The band's initial run established The Corrs as a beloved act in Australia, with albums Forgiven, Not Forgotten  and In Blue  reaching #1 on the ARIA charts, with Talk On Corners   peaking at #3. Their singles Breathless, Runaway, Love To Love You  and  Forgiven, Not Forgotten,  are among several songs to find favour with Australian audiences, performing well on the charts and receiving widespread radio play.

The Corrs announce Australian and New Zealand tour dates for 2023

Natalie Imbruglia will support across the band's first full-scale national tour in over 20 years

The Corrs band performing onstage

The Corrs have announced a tour for Australia and New Zealand, which will kick off towards the end of 2023.

The Irish band originally shared news of the tour to social media over the weekend (December 4). At the time, they revealed that the Australian run of shows would take place throughout October and November next year, and that they’d be joined on the tour by support acts Natalie Imbruglia , Toni Childs, and Germein. The cities on the tour were confirmed, but not the dates and venues themselves.

Today (December 7), the full itinerary of the Australian tour has been revealed – with information on their New Zealand tour reportedly “to follow”. It can be viewed below, along with an official announcement post from the Corrs’ social media:

A pre-sale run by the tour promoter, One World Entertainment, will take place on Monday December 12 from 9am local time. General sale will follow 24 hours later, at 9am local time on Tuesday December 13. Fans can sign up for information on the pre-sale here.

The announcement of The Corrs’ Australian tour comes just over a week after their one-off performance at Hunter Valley’s Hope Estate Winery. The show not only marked the band’s first Australian appearance since 2001, but their first show at all since 2017. They were joined at that gig by Scottish pop band Wet Wet Wet , as well as Darlinghurst and Gaudion.

The Hunter Valley show was notable for its use of 500 programmed drones, which moved in sync with the final two songs of The Corrs’ setlist. Throughout the night, The Corrs played tracks from the full breadth of their discography, including their ARIA Top Ten singles ‘Runaway’ and ‘Breathless’.

Prior to that, The Corrs held a cocktail party in Sydney on November 25, where they were interviewed by entertainment reporter Richard Wilkins, quizzed during an audience Q&A session and participated in meet-and-greet opportunities with fans.

The Corrs were formed in 1990 by the namesake Corr siblings: Sharon, Caroline, Jim and Andrea. The band’s first four albums during their initial run from 1990 to 2006 were particularly popular in Australia, with each being certified Platinum locally. The Corrs’ last studio album, ‘Jupiter Calling’, arrived in November 2017.

The Corrs’ 2023 Australian tour dates are:

OCTOBER Wednesday 25 – Perth, RAC Arena Saturday 28 – Bribie Island, Sandstone Point Hotel Sunday 29 – Sydney, Aware Super Theatre Tuesday 31 – Newcastle, Entertainment Centre

NOVEMBER Thursday 2 – Adelaide, Entertainment Centre Arena Saturday 4 – Launceston, UTAS Stadium Monday 6 – Melbourne, Rod Laver Arena

The Corrs Will Return To Australian for 2023 Tour

by Paul Cashmere on December 5, 2022

One week after their triumphant one-off Australian performance in New South Wales, promoter Andrew McManus has announced he will be bringing The Corrs back for a national tour in 2023.

In a statement McManus said, “It’s been two years since we first approached The Corrs with our plan for them to reform and perform here in Australia, throughout that time we’ve lived through Covid and the lockdowns, Australian border closures and so much more. Taking everything into account over our journey from our first approach to watching the bands brilliance on stage when they performed live at Hope Estate was an incredibly proud achievement by my team. I observed the tenacity of their agent in the UK, refusing to give in regardless of the obstacles which spurred our resolve here in Australia to bring this project home. Adding the spectacular display of the choreography of 500 drones moving in synch to the final two songs during the encore is another achievement of which we are proud.”

The 2023 line-up will includes guests Natalie Imbruglia, Toni Childs and Germein.

A statement from The Corrs reads, “Returning to Oz was a dream come true! What a spectacular night and audience – we loved every second! Can’t wait to see you all for a full tour next year! ”

The Corrs Down Under tour will happen across October and November 2023. The dates will be announced this Wednesday, 7 December.

REVIEW: THE CORRS, NATALIE IMBRUGLIA, TONI CHILDS, GERMEIN – ROD LAVER ARENA

corrs australia tour 22

Review   by Greg Phillips. Photos by Jason Rosewarne.

Buoyed by the success of their huge open air concert at Hope Estate in the Hunter Valley last year, fans were elated to hear that celtic pop rock phenomenon The Corrs would be back in 2023 for a full blown national tour of Australia. We’re a country that has connected with the band from day one.

Maybe it’s due to their fine family principles but the Irish quartet know a thing or two about value for money. At their Hope Estate gig in 2022, the band generously offered three other classy acts as supports and so too on this tour, they were joined by South Australian siblings Germein , US late-80s chart topper Toni Childs and our own international pop darling Natalie Imbruglia .

corrs australia tour 22

Consequently the show at Rod Laver Arena got off to an early start at 6pm, with the headliner not due on stage until 9.30. With many attendees still making their way into the venue, Germein didn’t take long to prove that they’d well and truly deserved their place on this exceptional bill. Georgia Germein kicked the set off delivering a slick intro solo on her fetching Telecaster (nice tone too) before sisters Ella on bass and Clara on drums launched into their opening tune, immediately uncovering a notable degree of musicianship. The three talented sisters can clearly play well and harmonise fabulously. Remind you of anyone? It’s no surprise they share the same international management as The Corrs. It takes a great deal of confidence and self-belief to ask a quarter filled venue, still navigating their seats to participate in singing and clapping to songs many would never have heard before but the boundless energy and encouragement of the girls seemed to have cut through. It’s only a matter of time before this band will be headlining both here and overseas more often than not.

corrs australia tour 22

Toni Childs has been an Australian resident for over decade now, so it’s not unusual to see her occasionally popping up at venues around the country. The acclaimed singer songwriter started her set sitting on the edge of the stage, boots dangling over it and exclaimed that she “was going to play some old shit from thirty frickin years ago.” Toni enjoyed massive success in the late eighties and early nineties with global hits such as ‘I’ve Got To Go Now’, ‘Stop Your Fussin’’, ‘House of Hope’ and ‘Don’t Walk Away’ and to the delight of the audience, these were the four songs she opened her set with. She also added that the second half of her set “would be from now and the future”, as Toni proceeded to show that she has lost none of her songwriting smarts nor vocal power, sounding as vital as she did back in the day. With an impressive seven piece band that added deft light and shade to Childs’ dynamic vocals, the audience lapped up the joyous rhythms emanating from the stage. With the inspirational set closer ‘I Believe In You’, Childs headed out into the audience to spread the love and the Melbourne crowd had no trouble returning the favour.

corrs australia tour 22

Natalie Imbruglia burst onto the stage encouraging the audience to clap their hands from the get-go, winning them over immediately by telling us she was so glad she was in a town where she could find a decent coffee. The former Melbourne resident and Ramsay Street identity had a full hour to work the crowd and did so with ease, delivering a surprising number of hits that came rushing back from everyone’s memory banks. After performing a few tracks from her 2022 album Firebird, such as ‘Maybe It’s Great’, ‘Build It Better’, and ‘Just Like Old Times’, those heckling for her biggest hit ‘Torn’ were finally rewarded with her penultimate song of her performance and unsurprisingly, they sung along with gusto. ‘Big Mistake’, another chart topper for Natalie ended her energetic set.

corrs australia tour 22

Following a dramatic video intro, the spotlight shone on The Corrs drummer Caroline as she summoned the rest of the band to the stage with her thunderous beats. Launching into ‘Only When I Sleep’, one of the band’s biggest hits, the excitement levels on the sold out Rod Laver Arena crowd were already peaking.   It wasn’t until the end of the third song ‘Summer Sunshine’ that   Andrea Corr finally addressed the audience, telling them that a trip back to Melbourne felt like a homecoming, reminding us that it had been twenty years since they’ve been back. She told   us that “There’s a lot of awfulness going on in the world today but not here, there’s only love, so let’s have an amazing evening together.” As Sharon’s beautiful fiddle strains rang out around the venue, the poignant ‘Forgiven, Not Forgotten” followed. A version of ‘Little Lies’, recorded as an addition to an upcoming new ‘best of’ collection and a tribute to the passing of Fleetwood Mac’s Christine MacVie was immaculate, matching or even surpassing the original. Their take on the Hendrix version of ‘Little Wing’ was sublime.

‘Joy of Life’ brought us the first Irish jig of the night, elevating the audience’s zeal up another notch. It’s a unique feature of the band that they can switch so seamlessly from pure pop and stunning ballads to the effervescence of traditional Irish music in a heartbeat and take the audience along with them on their dynamic journey. ‘Ellis Island’ showcased the extraordinary vocal capacity of the girls before ‘Haste to the Wedding’ brought the traditional Irish rhythms to the fore again, showcasing Caroline’s percussive mastery of the Bodhran and highlighting Andrea’s tin whistle skills. Displaying their Fleetwood Mac heart on their sleeves, ‘Dreams’ the second cover from that band for the night was executed with the same finesse and respect as Little Lies earlier in the evening.

The encore gave us Breathless, the first hit from their 2000 album In Blue, leading into Sharon’s gorgeous fiddle intro to Runaway. Andrea’s attempt to begin the first verse of the song was thwarted by the audience who voluntarily took over vocal duties. As Andrea again tried to contribute, the crowd sung louder as she slumped to her knees in adoration of the crowd’s vocal endearment.   ’Toss The Feathers’ coerced everyone in the house to their feet, ending a joyous night of music, played by real musicians with golden voices, a ‘feck you’ to all those pre-programmed, miming, mega shows that we reward all too often with our ticket money.

The Corrs return to Perth to kick off their Australian tour

The Corrs embarked on the first night of their Aussie arena tour in Perth on Wednesday, and put on a spectacular show.

28 years after the release of their breakthrough debut album, The Corrs returned to Australia on Wednesday night to kick off their Australian tour in Perth.

The Irish siblings, who visited our shores for a one-off concert last year but haven’t embarked upon a full tour Down Under since 2001, were joined by fellow 90s legend Natalie Imbruglia, as well as Toni Childs and Aussie group Germain.

Unlike the majority of their peers – the less said of Oasis the better – the four Irish siblings had the bond of blood to help them avoid the bitter breakups that plagued the likes of All Saints and Spice Girls in the 90s.

In fact, they only took time off to give birth to eight more potential future Corrs members.

The camaraderie within the group became clear the moment they stepped out on stage, and you could have been fooled into thinking they’d flown in straight from their nineties heyday.

While the band has never been synonymous with “cool” – their biggest scandal to hit the Corrs is member Jim claiming climate change is a myth – everything about the show felt like the musical equivalent of a warm hug.

The band put on a dazzling display, and looked like they hadn't aged a day since the 90s. Picture from Ravel Entertainment.

Andrea Corr’s vocals sounded ethereal reverberating around the arena as she belted out Runaway , but her shining moment came during their cover of Fleetwood Mac classic Dreams , where she gave Stevie Nicks a run for her money.

There was plenty of Irish charm throughout, to the point where it felt like they could have done a cover of B*Witched’s Cest La Vie and the audience, who were in the palm of their hand from the get-go, wouldn’t have batted an eyelash.

What Can I Do translated gloriously in a live setting, and the band made sure to sprinkle their biggest hits among newer material to keep fans entertained throughout.

Sadly, the same couldn’t be said for Imbruglia, who despite her best efforts, for some reason didn’t quite manage to win over the audience.

While not being a co-headline tour, support act Imbuglia’s set was also an hour-and-a-half, which allowed her plenty of time to throw out her big hits including a rousing rendition of angsty 90s break-up anthem Big Mistake.

While she tried her best to warm up the crowd, sadly for Imbruglia, Perth’s audience seemed in desperate need of an adrenaline shot. At one point during her competent set, a man heckled the Aussie star, yelling “where are the Corrs!”. To make matters worse, near the end of her set there was a noticeable sigh after she told the crowd “I’m not doing that one just yet, you’ll have to wait,” in reference to her biggest hit Torn.

It was an unwarranted lacklustre reception: Imbruglia sounded better than ever, and, at least in my eyes, has easily cemented her position as one of Aussie music’s biggest legends. Here’s hoping the rest of Australia give Imbruglia the reception she thoroughly deserves.

Meanwhile, after starting in Perth last night, the tour will be making its way across Australia, hitting Bribie Island, Sydney, Newcastle, Adelaide, Launceston, and Melbourne, with tickets available here.

Jennifer Lopez has issued a heartbreaking public statement, as rumours continue to swirl about her marriage to Ben Affleck.

“Just talk among yourselves …” Taylor Swift gave fans quite the surprise when she unwrapped her gown in a bid to fix a wardrobe malfunction.

Christina Aguilera has left fans stunned with her latest onstage appearance – it looks like she’s turned back the clock by 25 years.

Live Review: The Corrs leave Sydney ‘Breathless’ – Qudos Bank Arena (29.10.23)

There has to be something said for the power of nostalgia.

Despite not having any major success in Australia as of late – at least comparatively to when they first burst on the scene in the mid-90s – The Corrs packed out Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena to practical maximum capacity as they delighted fans with a set of predominant classics.

As much as it was a show celebrating the Irish quartet of Andrea Corr (lead vocals, tin whistle), Sharon Corr (violin, vocals) , Caroline Corr (drums, percussion, bodhran, vocals) and Jim Corr (guitar, piano, keyboard, vocals), “The Corrs Down Under” had a sense of the festival about it as prior to their energetic and oft-emotional set (they didn’t appear on stage until 9:30pm), Adelaide three-piece Germein , American singer-songwriter Toni Childs , and returning Sydney pop icon Natalie Imbruglia warmed the receptive crowd up with their respective sets.

After Germein proved they have the vocals and charm to hold an arena’s attention with a brief set, Toni Childs continued the rock-based vibe, walking on stage barefoot, announcing it was her birthday (so, you just know the crowd is serenading her later), quietly sitting down and after talking of how she’ll be “Starting with the old stuff and then moving to the new stuff”, she kicked off with her 1991 Top 5 ARIA hit “I’ve Got To Go Now”.  Childs, whose distinguished voice silenced the crowd when it was on display, continued her walk down memory lane with “Stop Your Fussin'”, before she introduced her new music, which maintained her funk-meets-rock sound, but incorporated an almost sensory-like experience as she invited Sydney to close their eyes and give into weightlessness.

Very much taking the audience on a journey through time with her evolving sound, Childs finished out by affirming to the audience – and coming off stage to interact directly with her fans – with the lyrics “You are beautiful.  You are gorgeous”, from “I Believe In You”.  Given the reaction, it’s safe to say the crowd felt the same affirmations should be relayed to the Hawaiian-turned-Byron Bay chanteuse.

The power of female storytelling continued with the arrival of Natalie Imbruglia.  Running onstage, and later indicating to the crowd that she and her band had no soundcheck (which explained the slight franticness in her actions), the soaring “What It Feels Like” kicked things off; the pop track one of the few from her recent “Firebird” album to earn a showcase, with “On My Way”, “Build It Better”, “Just Like Old Times” and “Maybe It’s Great” further reminding the crowd that her new music is just as lyrically complex and radio friendly as the more prominent hits that so often define her.

Of course, Imbruglia is smart enough to know that said-defining hits are going to truly amp up the crowd, so she treated us to “Shiver” and “Wrong Impression” (from her 2001 and 2005 albums “White Lilies Island” and “Counting Down The Days”, respectively), with the onslaught of the cultural-reset that is her 1997 debut “Left Of The Middle” peppered throughout.  “Wishing I Was There” and the heartbreaking “Smoke” reminded us just why we made that album such a staple of the time, with the album cut “Leave Me Alone”, a jazz-fused alt-pop track, rounding out the tease before “Torn” and “Big Mistake” closed her out.  To say “Torn” truly lit up the stadium would be an understatement, as the shine from everyone’s phones the moment those opening chords hit provided enough extra lighting for the singer to see how beloved she remains.

That 90s angst that she so effortlessly tapped into was quickly washed away though as soon as the booming drums were heard that accompanied the opening of The Corrs’ “Only When I Sleep”; the four-piece announcing their return to the stage with a dramatic video entrance that, despite its “bigness” never overshadowed the lush vocals of Andrea.

The rush and loudness of the crowd very much indicated that The Corrs’ set was to be one of interaction, as each performance seemed to envelop Sydney further and further.  As they belted out such continual winners as “Forgiven Not Forgotten” and “What Can I Do”, before resting their voices for a series of instrumental Celtic jigs that dazzled onlookers, it was often the quieter moments that seemed to stir the loudest.

As much as Andrea’s voice has defined The Corrs, it was a welcome choice to let the lead singer – who couldn’t have been more charming if she tried – to take a much needed breather halfway through to allow sisters Caroline and Sharon to showcase their stunning tones; A cover of Mary Black’s “No Frontiers” left the stadium practically speechless.

It didn’t take long for the energy to rise once more though, and the duo of Fleetwood Mac covers, “Little Lies” and “Dreams”, and the uplifting “So Young” reminded us why we embraced the group for the better part of almost three decades now; their debut feature “Forgiven Not Forgotten” released in 1995.  After first closing their set with “I Never Loved You Anyway” – somehow the happiest break-up song there is – it was the encore of “Runaway” and “Breathless” that absolutely blew the roof off.  As Andrea, visibly overcome with emotion, let the crowd essentially sing the former love song for her (to her?), the tonic of the latter’s soaring pop sensibilities proved the perfect closer to a night that encapsulated the building of sentiment.

There can be those that debate it was a night built on the past, but given the state of our present, it was clear Sydney had no problem being reminded of such bygone simplicities – and our future could certainly do with such fine-tuning.

Do the next promotional performance. Give the next media interview. Everything to build the brand of The Corrs.

At the time the Irish family band of Andrea Corr (lead vocal, tin whistle) and her elder siblings Sharon (violin, keyboards), Caroline (percussion) and Jim (guitar, keyboards) were one of the biggest pop acts in the world.

Their Celtic-pop hit singles Runaway , Forgiven Not Forgotten and I Never Loved You Anyway particularly resonated in Australia.

Last November The Corrs played their first concert together since 2017 at Hope Estate in the Hunter Valley . It was also remarkably the Breathless hit-makers first trip to Australia in 21 years.

The Corrs play the Newcastle Entertainment Centre on Tuesday.

Following the success of the Pokolbin show, The Corrs are back in Australia for their first full-blown tour anywhere since 2016.

On Tuesday night they perform at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre with support from Central Coast-raised pop singer Natalie Imbruglia, US singer-songwriter Toni Childs and Adelaide band Germein.

In their only print interview of the tour, Andrea Corr told the Newcastle Herald from their Brisbane hotel that the focus of the band had completely changed.

The Corrs are no longer their entire lives, but an element to be cherished.

"Now we have other lives," Andrea said. "Back then it was hard to appreciate the moment while it was happening because we were always working.

"We had no contrast in life. We didn't really have a personal life.

"Now we all have children and a family life. Because we worked so hard and toured, and promo-ed all at the same time, I think we're all pretty traumatised by the promo aspect.

"This time, and with everything else that's going on in the world, it makes you really aware. The blinkers are off. You can see how fortunate you actually are to be in a room where there's nothing but love.

"These are really good moments to be cherished."

Outside of Ireland, Australia has always arguably been The Corrs' most successful market.

Their first three albums Forgiven, Not Forgotten (1995), Talk On Corners (1997) and In Blue (2000) charted either No.1 or No.2 in Australia.

The Corrs play the Newcastle Entertainment Centre on Tuesday.

If life had turned out differently, The Corrs could have been Australian, rather than growing up in Dundalk near the Northern Ireland border.

"It's so strange, our parents before they had us - and it's probably why there's so many Irish people here - there was this incentive to move to Australia, particularly back then when they were first married," Andrea said.

"They were considering it. It does feel like we could actually be from here, but then they didn't come because mum realised she was pregnant and Jim [born in 1964] was coming along so that scuppered those plans."

The Newcastle Entertainment Centre show will also be somewhat of a homecoming for Imbruglia, who was married to Silverchair frontman Daniel Johns for five years in the 2000s.

Andrea said she's long wanted to share the road with the England-based Imbruglia, who is best known for her '90s hits Torn and Big Mistake .

"She's a very good friend of mine and we love each other," Andrea said. "We've often had great times over the years together as pals.

"I'm a really big fan of her music and singing and performance. We went through the same '90s-into-the-2000s-pop-star world.

"We have a really good understanding of each other and have a good humour about it all."

The Corrs play the Newcastle Entertainment Centre on Tuesday.

The Corrs (formed in 1991) is an Irish family pop, rock and celtic fusion band, best known for their third full-length pop album “In Blue”, hailing from Dundalk, Country Louth, Ireland.

Prior to the formation of the Coors, siblings Jim and Sharon Corr began playing music together at their aunt’s pub, McManus’s. Fellow siblings Caroline and Andrea Corr subsequently joined and the Corrs was born. The group’s breakthrough came when they landed roles in the 1991 film, “The Commitments”, and secured John Hughes as their manager. Following a successful show at Whelan’s Bar in Dublin, the group were invited by the U.S. ambassador for Ireland to play at the 1994 FIFA World Cup in Boston.

After singing with Atlantic Records, the Corrs released their debut studio album “Forgiven, Not Forgotten” in September 1995. Combining the traditional celtic fiddle work and vocals with folk and alternative rock, the album spawned the singles “Runaway”, “Forgiven, Not Forgotten”, “The Right Time”, and “Love to Love You”. In support of the record, which charted in over 18 countries, the Corrs embarked on a world tour from April 1996 which included Europe, Australia, Asia, America, and Canada.

The band’s sophomore album “Talk On Corners” was released in 1997 and produced by Glen Ballard, known for his work with Alanis Morissette. Aided by the Top 10 singles “Only When I Sleep”, “I Never Loved You Anyway”, “What Can I Do”, and “Dreams”, the record catapulted the group to UK success, topping the Irish and the UK Albums Chart. The Corrs’ third full-length to date, “In Blue”, followed in July 2000, marked by a move towards mainstream pop and away from celtic traditions. Toping the charts in nine countries including the UK, Ireland, Germany, and Australia, the record produced the singles “Breathless”, “Irresistible”, and “Give Me a Reason”.

In 2001, the band issued the compilation “Best of The Corrs” before contributing to Josh Groban’s debut album “Canto Alla Vita”. The Corrs subsequently performed a successful show at Ardmore Studios in which U2’s Bono and the Rolling Stones’ Ronnie Wood made appearances, which culminated in the live album, “VH1 Presents: The Corrs, Live in Dublin”. Returning to their folk rock roots, the band’s fourth studio album “Borrowed Heaven” arrived in May 2004. Led by the singles “Summer Sunshine”, “Angel”, and “Long Night”, the record didn’t prove as popular with mainstream audiences however was seen as a return to form.

Completely dropping the mainstream pop influences, released exactly 10 years after “Forgiven, Not Forgotten”, the Corrs’ fifth studio album “Home” arrived in September 2005. Earning a string of positive reviews, the record went on to sell over a million copies, led by the single “Heart Like a Wheel/Old Town”.

Live reviews

This was the first time I'd seen the Corrs since their memorable St Patrick's Day gig at the Royal Albert Hall in 1998, in part due to them taking a decade break from 2005. The other reason for that was the gradual move towards mainstream pop, and starting to play at Arenas such as this, which made them a lot less appealing. The Corrs are not suited to arena gigs - their sound is just, well, not big enough. A theatre is much more them.

Anyhow, this was at the O2 arena, and to be fair they made a good fist of it. However, too often they were neglecting their roots (e.g. playing a medley of great folk instrumentals, rather than giving the songs the time they deserve, and playing them in full), and particularly Sharon's fab fiddle playing. When they did go back to them (e.g. on 'Toss the Feathers', and 'Radio', with an excellent extended fiddle outro), they were excellent, there just needed to be more of it. And there needed to be more, full stop, with the set around 1 hr 45 minutes, at least 15 minutes too short for an established act.

The set was also far too heavy on their second album 'Talk on Corners', with 6 songs from it played (including 'Dreams'), although a couple of the highlights - a very rocky 'So Young' and 'Queen of Hollywood' (featuring a storming guitar solo) - were from that album.

All, in all, a good gig, albeit one with ups and downs - and well worth seeing.

With countless platinum selling albums and singles released over the years, the Corr siblings continue to produce and perform their famous combination of traditional Celtic Irish themes, with pop/rock music which maintains its appeal of originality. When I saw them in concert, the night flew past, it all seems like an incredibly magical blur. I was lucky enough to get tickets for myself and a few friends in Manchester, and it really was the best gig i've ever been to. There was something extremely special about seeing the musicians perform with such passion and enthusiasm to such a vast audience, whilst seeming to personally interact with everyone in the concert hall.

They came to the stage just after 19.30, to the backing track of a prerecorded introduction that fuelled the enthusiasm of the audience even further. They launched straight into their first song without any introduction, which created tumultuous screams from the fans. After a few of their classics, they stopped to introduce the show, and thank us for being there which was really great. I loved how they played a great balance of the classics, really well known songs, and also some of their new material which is great! A simply unbelievable concert, don't miss out if you get the chance to go.

Hi, I am 72 years old, and I believe i am one of the eldest followers\fans of The Corrs.

I follow this wonderful group ever since when the first album "Forgiven Not Forgotten" was launched in 1996, and after having listened to it, I haven't rested until I bought it. I own the whole band's discography either in CD's and DVD's and I was present in the first live concert in Portugal - Braga when it took place in 2005, it was a spectacular performance and one of the last before the band fell apart, and since it did I became interested in Sharon Corr and her performances instead. Which remind me of her concert in Galicia - S. Tiago de Compostela in the Lope de Vega theater, and in Dublin - The Sugar Club in which I was also present.

In regard to what I think about the White Light Tour in Dublin - Arena 3 no words can describe it, it was the best concert I watched in my whole life and is one that I will forever remember.

I was touched by that performance and the experience it was. Easily the best concert of The Corrs for me, they know how value the merit given to them by their fans and naturally you can count on me in future events.

Best regards from Domingos Silvestre.

Ireland has produced good musicians & great musicians over the years but The Corrs would be very top of the pile.

I'm an Irishman living in Australia for many years but my sister lives in Jenkinstown Dundalk.

Every time I visit I hope I might run into one of The Corrs in a local pub, well no harm in dreaming!

Really hoping the Corrs might do a world tour in the next few years?

I'm thinking most of the band members are married now with families so it's probably very difficult to tour these days.

The Corrs are adored worldwide & especially here in Australia.

That raw fresh Irish sound which is so original comprising the fiddle, tin whistle etc. to the pure voice of Andrea, there is simply nothing else like it.

The entire Corr family are just so talented & when they combine the music they create together is just magic!

Please Corrs try to do a tour in the next 3 years? I seriously would go anywhere in the world to see you again in concert.

This was not just a Corrs concert. It was their first performance in 11 years!

We've been following them for years so when we heard that they were working on a new album and were expected to perform at BBC Radio 2 Live at Hyde Park we were very excited!

Before their set, a clip of their hit songs and some live footage was shown, getting cheers from the audience.

They played a 30 minutes set which included Breathless, Runaway, Dreams, What Can I Do, Radio and Toss The Feathers.

There were some technical problems during the first song and it was clear they were very nervous, but who could blame them! They probably weren't sure of the audience reaction but they really had nothing to worry about, as everyone was clapping, cheering and singing along. Runaway was a very emotional moment!

It was great to see them back on stage together and, if anyone is wondering, YES, they still got it!!

I had seen the Corrs live twice before but after a gap of 10 years and a rather subdued performance in Hyde Park (seen on TV) I was concerned that the family band may have lost their touch.

Seconds into the set I felt reassured and by the end I knew they are back, back, back.

There was an instant standing ovation from their first appearance on stage which continued throughout the set.(NB: if you like sitting get a banked seat)

A mix of fast, slow, new, old (plus the 'traditional section') would have pleased most fans.

The new album 'White Light' was given a fair hearing but sprinkled throughout.

The staging was also up to standard with projection and various light effects enhancing the music rather than being a distraction.

There was no escaping the warmth of affection between audience and the group and I was pleased to witness the first leg of the revival

The Corrs at Epsom Racecourse on a cold windy evening did not seem a promising prospect -any more than the 50-1 outsider that I backed, but how wrong I was. With the strong wind blowing into their faces the whole concert they were magnificent, even more polished than they were when they were last touring. They performed the best from their extensive back catalogue including all the hits plus their wonderful repertoire of traditional irish songs faultlessly, and a few new songs, I guess from their new album thrown in. Their one and a half hour concert just flew by and sadly the crowd were not granted 'more'. Despite contending the wind full on, the sound mix was excellent. If I was being a bit picky, maybe the vocals could have been a bit louder. If you liked the Corrs don't miss seeing them. You won't regret it. Forgiven for the break, and definitely not forgotten

Blenheim Palace 24th June. What can you say? Send out the ever popular Caroline to energise the crowd with a drum solo before launching into 'I do What I Like' . As always a rock based opening with well established favourites before slowing down to the 'Irish' and acoustic sections.Kiss of life and Ellis Island are becoming fan favourites. Andrea , delightfully, couldn't understand why the crowd laughed when she introduced Ellis Island as a song about immigration! We all joined in with Runaway, stood for Breathless and generally had a superb time.Only dampener was the band not being allowed to play 'toss the Feathers' as they reached the site curfew time.Shame on you BP.

I adore The Corrs and have every CD. Looking forward to their new CD release on Nov 10th! I’ve seen them in the states at the Jones Beach Concert Hall on LI, saw Sharon perform at the Bolton Center in Bayshore, NY, and again saw The Corrs at the Titanic in Belfast in 2016. Their beautiful lilting and uplifting music is a joy to listen to, and their stage presence is vibrant!
