The band camino is a band i discovered early this year with my friends from school. when i found out that they were coming to Sacramento, my friend michelle and i both knew we needed to go. We were right at the foot of the stage, near the corner. It was a pretty small venue. I was right next to the lead singer (at one point he sang into my phone and i was freaking out and crying lol if he see's this i'm so sorry i was a mess). Hardcastle was also really really good. The drummer winked at michelle (she literally died). I got to meet the band afterward, which was amazing they truly are amazing people who make awesome music. They were so kind towards us and didnt mind giving me a hug. I also ended up getting a guitar pick from the bassist of the band camino (its sitting right next to me as i type this). It was my best concert experience so far. 10/10 recommend seeing them live.

I’ve loved this band for over a year or so now and every single one of their songs are amazing, there isn’t one I don’t like. I’ve always wanted to see them live so when they came to Chattanooga a bunch of my friends wanted to go too, so we all carpooled 3 hours to Chatanooga to see the guys play. It was so worth the trip and every penny spent. The music live was amazing and their stage presence was awesome. We hung out for a half-hour/hour afterwards just talking to them about music and how they play and inspirations. These guys are some of the coolest guys to talk to and it was a super rad experience. I definitely recommend this band to any and everyone, especially live.

Really an AMAZING show! They sound just as good live as they do recorded, they are talented guys! They also have a lot of character and love what they do, and appreciate their fans. Personally, I got to meet them which was above and beyond my expectations, and they are very genuine people who were easy to talk to. I really recommend going to see them, I’m convinced they’ll make it BIG one day!!!

There are no words. The Band CAMINO is so underrated. Go see them in concert, please. You won’t regret it. We drove 3+ hours two separate times in the same weekend to see them, and it was so incredibly worth it. Tickets are always ridiculously cheap, and their music is fantastic. All excellent musicians and really genuine people.

I saw them in the egyptian room at the old national in Indianapolis and god what a show. Great stage presence, voices like they were playing the record itself, and the perfect setlist. Would 100% recommend seeing the band camino if you have the chance. (Their opener, Valley was also amazing an would 10/10 recommend.)

I thoroughly enjoyed this show. It was easily the very best night of my life!! The production, sound, and bands were both amazing and the Saturn was such a great venue. (I loved the way it looked & art/video games everywhere) I LOVE the band camino and really wish it could’ve lasted forever !!

These guys slap. Second time seeing them. Great live show.

They did a good job of playing small snippets of songs they knew they didn't have time to play entirely, just to get as much music as they could in the set.

Absolutely worth seeing live, especially before they blow up.

I was absolutely blown away. I love their songs and seeing them performed live almost moved me to tears (no I'm not joking I almost cried). If you can go see them live, I would highly recommend it. Also go check out Hardcastle (their opener), they were amazing :)

Celebrated pop-rock trio and live sensation The Band CAMINO today unveil their blazing, energetic new single "What Am I Missing?"

LATEST NEWS

On the new track, the group weighs the pros and cons of a relationship dissolving. With a hard-hitting chorus and fiery guitar riffs, the effort previews an exciting year ahead for the Nashville-based band - which includes a massive home-state performance at Bonnaroo on Saturday, June 17.

"What Am I Missing?" also follows The Band CAMINO's latest release " Told You So ," which continues to underscore why the group have become a must-watch artist since their inception in 2015. "Told You So" also arrived on the heels of the group's impressive year of touring in 2022, which saw them completely sell out their spring U.S. headline run and play their biggest headline show to date at The Factory in Dallas.

Known as a live sensation for their captivating, high-impact performances, the band will also be embarking on a European headline tour on Tuesday, May 2 (dates HERE ).

The Band CAMINO is currently in the studio putting the finishing touches on their next project with Elektra. Stay tuned for much more coming soon.

ABOUT THE BAND CAMINO:

The Band CAMINO has blazed a permanent trail for themselves in music, garnering more than 500 million global streams to date and widespread acclaim. Since relocating from Memphis to Nashville in 2018, the band (singers/guitarists Jeffery Jordan and Spencer Stewart and drummer Garrison Burgess) has been honing their signature 'Band Camino' sound at the crossroads of pop and rock music.

Their self-titled debut album (Sept. 2021) showcases the trio's electrifying guitar-driven sound, first introduced on their anthemic EP tryhard in 2019, which spawned fan favorites "Daphne Blue" and "See Through."

In addition to selling out multiple tours - including their largest headline run to date in 2022 - and hitting the major festival circuit with performances at Lollapalooza, Hangout, Forecastle, and Austin City Limits (where they were named a "breakout act" by Grammy.com), The Band CAMINO has developed a highly-engaged worldwide fanbase.

Their growth has been largely stimulated by raw discovery, even catching the attention of Taylor Swift, who included the band's reflective track "Berenstein" on her "Songs I'm Loving Right Now" playlist in 2018.

In 2021, the band made their national television debut performing "1 Last Cigarette" on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and "Underneath My Skin" on The Kelly Clarkson Show.

Event Detail

After more than five years as a band, The Band Camino have never felt more confident in their music. Now, they have a self-titled album to prove it.  The Band Camino , due Sept. 10 on dblblk/Elektra Records, expands on the guitar-driven pop that the group introduced with their anthemic debut EP tryhard in 2019. The pop-rock three-piece (singers/guitarists Jeffery Jordan and Spencer Stewart, and drummer Garrison Burgess) have been honing their dynamic Band Camino sound since relocating from Memphis to Nashville in 2018. It was a fateful move for founding members Jeffery and Spencer, college buddies-turned-bandmates who were in search of a drummer and recruited Garrison upon arriving in Music City.

“As soon as we played the first show together, we knew we hit it off,” Jeffery recalls. Garrison agrees: “There was this instant chemistry, and everybody on the team could feel it. Everybody's very appreciative of each other and what they bring to the table. It was cool to be part of something that was growing and was bigger than me, and bigger than each of them. It was magic.”

That magic has seemingly been evident to fans, too. The Band Camino completely sold out their 2018 and 2019 headlining tours, as well as their biggest headlining show to date at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium in September 2021 -- the latter of which sold out in 10 minutes. But the group has clearly made an impact since their start, garnerning 2.6 million monthly Spotify listeners and more than 330 million global streams to date. Their growth has been largely stimulated by raw discovery, even catching the attention of Taylor Swift, who included the band’s reflective song “Berenstein” on her “Songs I’m Loving Right Now” playlist in 2018.

Garrison’s addition came at a pivotal time for The Band Camino creatively, as 2018 was also the beginning of their partnerships with Nashville superproducer Jordan Schmidt and singer-songwriter Seth Ennis. “That was a big season of when everything changed,” Jeffery says, calling tryhard ’s roaring lead single, “Daphne Blue,” the “turning point” for the band. “Right after we wrote it, we were like, ‘We have something different here, and this kind of defines where we're headed.’” Echoes Spencer, “It gave us a different vision of what we could be.”

“Daphne Blue” took the group’s production from lo-fi to stadium-ready, ramping up their electric guitars and drums, and letting their powerful vocals soar. That amplified sound reaches new heights on The Band Camino , a 14-track showcase of the group’s multifaceted soundscape that features ‘80s synths in punchy tunes such as “I Think I Like You,” arena-rock anthems including rollicking single “1 Last Cigarette,” and heartfelt moments like the introspective “Who Do You Think You Are.” The trio recorded the entire album over a month-long stay at the iconic Sonic Ranch in Tornillo, Texas, where they, as Jeffery puts it, “rode this wave of creativity” alongside Jordan Schmidt and executive producer Jameson Roper last fall. All but two of the songs are the result of the band’s unexpected downtime during quarantine in 2020, when Garrison says their songwriting “went into overdrive.”

The guys' resounding favorite is “Underneath My Skin," a spirited tale of dysfunctional love. Yet, they all agree that the two most Band Camino-esque tracks are “Roses” and “Look Up” because of their “don’t take life for granted” sentiments. Spencer asserts that sharing a meaningful message has always been one of the most important facets of The Band Camino’s music, even when it comes in a more somber form like the album’s goosebump-inducing breakup ballad “Help Me Get Over You.” Outside of that track and the acoustic confessional “Sorry Mom,” the rest of the new material masks any melancholy lyrics with infectious melodies and upbeat vibes, immediately evidenced on the album’s bluntly titled kickoff “Everybody Dies.”

The Band Camino’s juxtaposing creative approach has become even more effective as their sound has elevated, with one constant carrying throughout their entire catalog: relatability. “Art feels like it's a reflection of society, emotions, and relationships, and it's supposed to make you feel understood. With the songs we wrote, we hope we can continue to make people feel understood and that you're not alone in whatever you feel,” Jeffery says, excitedly adding, “and that bands are back, baby!”

Jeffery, Spencer, and Garrison are eager to usher in a new wave of bands in today’s solo act-dominated pop world. “We want to make music for the people who listen to everything. We want people to be able to listen to Justin Bieber and then listen to The Band Camino back-to-back," Jeffery declares. With that goal in mind, the band promises to continue pushing boundaries as the rock band of the pop generation. "We've always just wanted to make music that we would want to listen to," Jeffery says.

“I hope that we're around long enough to get made fun of,” Spencer adds with a laugh. “and that we're so popular that one day people hate us because we've been around for so long.”

With an opening slot on Dan + Shay’s 2021 U.S. Tour and an impactful album in their future, The Band Camino are certainly on their way to long-term success. According to Jeffery, he and his bandmates are more than primed for that: "We're ready to keep doing this forever."

The 5 Most Legendary Western Artists to Ever Perform in Moscow

band camino european tour

This year on Moscow's City Day, Muscovites and visitors flocked to a central square and watched an Aerosmith concert. Nowadays, Russians — and especially residents of Moscow — are nonchalant about concerts of famous foreign musicians, but a couple of decades ago seeing and hearing AC/DC, the Scorpions or ex-Beatle Paul McCartney was possible only in music lovers' wildest dreams.

To look back to the days when the world's greatest rock stars first performed for Soviet and Russian audiences, we asked the people who were there to remember what it was like.

1989: Moscow Music Peace Festival

The Soviet Union was slowly disappearing from the maps of the world, there were just four years before tanks would be aimed at the White House in Moscow and the era of New Russia was on its way.

The iron curtain began to fall with the first rock music festival what was still the U.S.S.R. — the Moscow Music Peace Festival at "Luzhniki" stadium in Moscow on Aug. 12-13, 1989. Bon Jovi, Mötley Crüe, Ozzy Osbourne, Scorpions, Cinderella, Skid Row and Gorky Park played on stage at this "Russian Woodstock" for about 200,000 people, while nearly 60 countries all around the world broadcast the festival live.

"I was five years old and went there with my parents, who were still young and cool," said Yuri Garnaev.

"My favorite band was Bon Jovi, so I was waiting for them and shaking my father's hand, just asking one question: 'When? When will Bon Jovi finally appear?' I only now realize what great bands I listened to and what a wonderful time it was," he said.

1991: Monsters of Rock

A month after the August coup attempt, a concert at Moscow's Tushino airfield was the last gig in the worldwide Monsters of Rock festival, which was held in Great Britain, The Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Poland, Hungary and at the end — Russia [then formally still the Soviet Union]. Since it was free, people came from all over the country to take part in this historic event. Two years after the Moscow Music Peace Festival and the crowds were much bigger — from 600,000 to a million people, depending on the source.

Superstars of the world's rock scene — Metallica, AC/DC, Pantera and The Black Crowes — drove the audience crazy. There was an ocean of young and old, men and women; hundreds of Russian, American and Confederate flags. People believed that good things were on the way to their country, and they were ready to hear music that they had no access to for many years.

Dmitry Bravy, who is working on a book about AC/DC remembers this festival as "the Tushino booze-a-thon: drunk and dirty people with flags everywhere."

"But the sound was so perfect that it turned you inside out!" he said.

"Sadly, it all ended with people throwing glass bottles, so I had to watch out and protect my head," said another concert-goer, Vladimir Syaplin.

1997: The Prodigy

The really popular album "The Fat of The Land" by The Prodigy, British electronic monsters, was released in 1997 and did not pass Russia by. In 1997 about 200,000 people plodded through autumn's chill, puddles and aggressive police to rave at The Prodigy's free concert at Manezh Square right next to Red Square.

Today when the musicians come to Russia, they always remember it as one of the best gigs they ever had.

"In the summer of 1997, I was on vacation at a summer camp on the Black Sea. My mother knew that I loved the band, and when I got back she said, "Here's some good news for you! They're coming to Moscow in late September and will be performing at Manezh Square." My happiness had no bounds," remembers Sergei Chernyshev.

"I, a 14-year-old boy, and two friends of mine went to the most important event in our lives. We got to the square at 11 a.m., and we couldn't believe it! So many people... When The Prodigy came on people went crazy. It was a jumbled mass of people: punks, rappers, rockers, ravers, moms and dads with their children — everyone chanted, sang and danced. It's been many years, but every time I pass that place, I see the scene in my mind's eye," he said.

Unfortunately, not everyone came home after the concert.

Sergei Ushkov lost a friend: "I wasn't there, but my friend was crushed in the crowd and died. He was 17."

1999: Red Hot Chili Peppers

Close to the Millennium, the Russian MTV channel celebrated its first birthday on Sept. 25, 1999. To mark the event, they invited Red Hot Chili Peppers to play in the heart of Moscow.

This was after their album "Californication" had come out and they'd played at Woodstock-99, where the band unintentionally caused massive riots with their song "Fire."

Despite all this, the band came to Moscow and showed its best at Red Square.

"The crowd was always moving, the camera swept over us on special cranes, and nobody paid any attention to the rain," shared RHCP fan Dmitry Kanadets.

"I went home feeling like it was one of the most important moments in my life. Afterwards, I started playing bass guitar in different bands. And of course I didn't miss their concerts in St. Petersburg and Moscow in 2012. I went with my girlfriend and a week later we got married," he said.

"I don't remember almost anything except the OMON officers and what they were doing. The most amazing thing that shocked me [in a positive way] was how people helped each other while police caused the stampeding. If you fell, someone helped you instantly. This fraternal solidarity is the one thing that I remember clearly," said another fan, Yekaterina Nedzvetskaya.

2003: Paul McCartney

In 2003, Vladimir Putin was the president of a country not under sanctions and the world's judgment. Musician Andrei Makarevich, now a critic of Russian policies, was sitting near the president. And everyone on Red Square was singing "Hey Jude" and other famous songs written by The Beatles and frontman Sir Paul McCartney, who was performing in Moscow for the very first time.

"This is my youth again!" said a middle-aged woman as she danced during the concert. "I never thought I would be listening to him here in Moscow."

"This hand shook Paul's," a stunned fan told TVS television, after meeting McCartney before the concert. "I'm not going to wash it for several days."

To find out more about the concert, read this story published 12 years ago: Paul McCartney Finally Back in the U.S.S.R.

Dear readers,

We are facing unprecedented challenges. Russia's Prosecutor General's Office has designated The Moscow Times as an "undesirable" organization, criminalizing our work and putting our staff at risk of prosecution. This follows our earlier unjust labeling as a "foreign agent."

Earlier this year, System Of A Down frontman Serj Tankian criticised Imagine Dragons for ignoring his concerns about the band performing in Baku, Azerbaijan, which the singer said would be seen as an endorsement of the country's authoritarian President Ilham Aliyev. Tankian stated: “I don't respect them as human beings. Fuck their art, they're not good human beings, as far as I'm concerned. If you are that blind to justice that you will go play a show in a country that's starving another country, illegally, according to the International Court of Justice, according to what Amnesty International is saying, what Human Rights Watch is saying… If you  still  go and play that country, I don't know what to say about you as a fucking human being... I have zero respect for those guys.” Defending his band's decision, Dan Reynolds told Rolling Stone , “There’s corrupt leaders and warmongers all over the world, and where do you draw the line?” Quoting Reynolds’ rhetorical question in a subsequent Instagram post, Tankian responded, “Respectfully, I draw the line at ethnic cleansing and genocide.”

Slipknot’s Clown on discussing the late Joey Jordison: “It’s nobody’s fucking business and he’s our brother”

"There might have been a chance we would have gotten back together"

Slipknot ‘s Clown has opened up about why the band rarely discuss the group’s late drummer Joey Jordison.

  • Read More:   Slipknot’s Clown talks 2024 tour and new material: “This band has never been happier”

Jordison, who founded the metal band in 1995 alongside Paul Gray and Shawn “Clown” Crahan, was the band’s drummer up until 2013 when he was fired from the group with the band citing personal reasons. Jordison later revealed that he suffered from the neurological disease transverse myelitis. He passed away in July 2021 at the age of 46.

In an interview with Knotfest , Crahan opened up about his relationship with the late drummer and former bandmate. “I don’t know, man, it’s just like something that you had your whole life, that you lost, when we lost Joey,” he told the publication.

He continued: “And if everybody thinks about it, we really never talk [about that situation]. You can’t find anything of us explaining all that, because it’s nobody’s fucking business, and he’s our brother. And who knows, man, there might have been a chance in life. I don’t know the future. There might have been a chance we would have gotten back together. I don’t know.

“I can’t tell you yes or no, but there’s a better chance [of] yes [than] not because of friendship and growing older and talking and being able to understand things. So I just want you to know we’re having a really good time with our music and with each other. We’re all working really hard right now, really hard. As hard as it is to break in new philosophies, to do this setlist, to make new things, to have new people. It’s so much work.”

Speaking to  NME  about their plans for their shows and the future , Crahan said late last year: “In 25 years of writing seven albums, we’ve allowed ourselves to do anything and everything we want. We do what we want, as much as we want, when we want, how we want. I’m ready to move on from what has been, and move onto a world that I know needs to be. For instance, normally we’d have about two years on and one-and-a-half years off — we’re not doing that anymore.

Recommended

He continued: “We’re going back to basics. I’m ready to kick everybody in the face again! I’m ready to do a 100-person venue again! I’m ready to do a 500-person venue. We want to play in front of 500 people, but there are a lot of factors that will mean it can’t happen. We’re at the point where we’ve got to ensure safety.”

“As far as the new album, that’s happening, but that’s another plan. These live dates are coming first and we’re here to have a good time. This band has never been happier, and that takes a lot because we’ve been through a lot — drugs, women, money, fame, ego, isolation. But we are on track.”

Slipknot are currently on  their ‘Here Comes The Pain’ tour of North America , which celebrates the 25th anniversary of their 1999 self-titled debut album. They have been playing the record in full, including at a show at New York’s Madison Square Garden, which you can watch in full  here .

For all of the anniversary shows, the band have revived their classic look, bringing back the red jumpsuits and elements of their early masks.

They are also back on the road later this year, with a UK and European tour set to celebrate 25 years as a band – you can purchase tickets here .

The metal giants will kick off the tour at Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam on December 5, 2024, before heading onto a trio of shows in Germany, followed by dates in Zürich and Paris. The band will then continue to Leeds, Glasgow, Manchester and Birmingham and will wrap up at London’s O2 Arena on December 20. Check out the full dates here:

Slipknot’s 2024 UK and European tour dates are:

DECEMBER 5 – Amsterdam, Netherlands, Ziggo Dome 6 – Dortmund, Germany, Westfalenhalle 8 – Stuttgart, Germany, Schleyerhalle 9 – Leipzig, Germany, Quarterback Immobilien Arena 11 – Zürich, Switzerland, Hallenstadion 12 – Paris, France, Accorhotel Arena 14 – Leeds, UK, First Direct Arena 15 – Glasgow, UK, OVO Hydro 17 – Manchester, UK, Co-op Live Arena 18 – Birmingham, UK, Utilita Arena 20 – London, UK, O2 Arena

In other news, Crahan recently revealed that he wants the band to perform at the 2028 Olympic Games.

Elsewhere, frontman Corey Taylor  has revealed that he’s  making changes to his touring schedule and routine  after he  previously cancelled a North American solo tour, citing struggles with his well-being  in January.

Last month, the band’s DJ Sid Wilson was  hospitalised for serious burns to his face and arms after a bonfire explosion , but has been confirmed for a return to the stage soon.

Tim Commerford’s 7D7D announce first-ever UK and European shows

Tim Commerford’s 7D7D announce first-ever UK and European shows

7D7D have just announced a nine-date European and UK headline tour.

The new(ish) LA band – comprised of Rage Against The Machine bassist Tim Commerford, plus drummer Mathias Wakrat and guitarist Jonny Polonsky – will be making their live debut on this side of the pond in October and November.

“We’ve been recording music for the last two or three years via email, but since my move from NYC to LA in January, we’ve been practicing pretty steadily,” explains Jonny. “It feels really thrilling to be finally getting out there performing live for the people.”

“7D7D is a trio thats changed the way I feel and enjoy music,” enthuses Tim. “Whether is the crazy drum patterns or next level guitar beauty, I feel lucky to be a part of this band. It’s been life-changing for me. I know that if I walked up on 7D7D somewhere I wouldn’t leave.”

These live shows follow the January news that Rage won’t be playing live anymore . At the start of 2024, drummer Brad Wilk posted that, “I know a lot of people are waiting for us to announce new tour dates for all the cancelled RATM shows. I don’t want to string people or myself along further. So while there has been some communication that this may be happening in the future… I want to let you know that RATM (Tim, Zack, Tom and I) will not be touring or playing live again. I’m sorry for those of you who have been waiting for this to happen. I really wish it was…”

As for 7D7D, though, a press release promises that: ‘The band plan to continue to record and release new music, one single at a time – stay tuned!’

METALLICA Completes 'Sick Of The Studio '07' Tour; Moscow Setlist Revealed

METALLICA played the final show of its "Sick of the Studio '07" European tour earlier tonight (Wednesday, July 18) at Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow, Russia. The group's setlist was as follows:

01. Creeping Death 02. Fuel 03. Wherever I May Roam 04. For Whom the Bell Tolls 05. Welcome Home (Sanitarium) 06. ...And Justice For All 07. The Memory Remains 08. Disposable Heroes 09. Orion 10. Fade To Black 11. Master of Puppets 12. Battery - - - - 13. Sad But True 14. Nothing Else Matters 15. One 16. Enter Sandman - - - - 17. The Four Horsemen 18. Seek and Destroy

RIA Novosti reported earlier today that METALLICA 's concert in Moscow would be attended by some 60,000 fans and over 3,000 security officers.

Special headquarters were established to coordinate security provisions by police, emergencies officers and doctors at the Luzhniki stadium. In addition, a mounted unit of some 70 policemen was reportedly on patrol.

The band had visited Russia only once before, with a concert taking place at the peak of their fame, in 1991.

As previously reported, NME TV sat down for a chat with METALLICA guitarist Kirk Hammett on Sunday, July 8 prior to the band's sold-out concert at Wembley Stadium in London, England. Watch the 10-minute interview at YouTube .

When asked how work is progressing on METALLICA 's long-awaited new album, Hammett said, "It's coming along fairly well. We wrote 22 songs with the intention of recording 12 or 14, with the intention of putting maybe nine or ten on the new album, depending on how they all turn out once they're all finally recorded and mixed and done. The music is really heavy — surprise, surprise — very, very progressive; different from anything we've ever done before again. Yes, there are guitar solos. Yes, the production will be slightly better. We're using [producer] Rick Rubin [ SLIPKNOT , AUDIOSLAVE , SLAYER , SYSTEM OF A DOWN , RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS ]. We're not recording in HQ [the band's rehearsal studio/headquarters in San Rafael, California]; we're recording down in L.A. at a place called Sound City . And we're just about to finish the drums, the drumming aspect of it. And when we get back to the States, that's when Rob [ Trujillo , bass], James [ Hetfield , guitar/vocals] and I start playing our instruments and building tracks. We're all pretty psyched about it. The material, we feel, is very, very strong. I like that to think that it sits somewhere between '…And Justice For All' and the 'black' album — that little niche right there. And like I said, again, it's very, very different.

"We're actually shooting for an early 2008 release. I would be extremely surprised if it comes out sooner than that. But I would be extremely disappointed if it came out later than that, let's just say."
